REVIEWS OF Westward IN Washington

The views from here are great! Definitely bring someone here to impress them and show them a great view of Seattle nearing sunset. Just for that it's worth it. Service is great, they gave a fine wine selection but I'm a simple guy of burgers and wings. I wasnt fond of their very limited food menu and this place is a weird place to just get a coke. So come here for a lemonade, city line views and later go to the place next door for a good chowder!

Charles McMicking

Had a delicious dinner here. Fantastic food by the water with a buzzy atmosphere. Fresh oysters- roast octopus and fresh halibut. It was a wee bit warm watching the chefs at work but well worth it to watch it all happen. Not cheap but good value for money.

Emily Hamedian

Amazing food paired with an amazing view! You can sit on lawn chairs overlooking the Seattle skyline from this restaurant, which makes for a super cool and unique experience. The food was amazing too, with reasonable portions for the price (considering the quality). I ordered a pork chop and it was simply delectable. The waiters and waitresses here are also super energetic and make the whole dining experience fantastic. Definitely give this a place a visit if you're nearby!

Rachael Tiow

Second time here. Location is A+ Food was average. Risotto tasted more like porridge. Seared Halibut was delicious. Dessert was bad. Ordered the brownie and ice cream. Mediocre. I think the regular store bought brownie and ice cream would've been way better! Service was average. Server brought out the wrong wine, opened the wrong bottle for us (thank goodness we caught her before she pulled the cork), and Rang the wrong check for us. Not going back. Will hang out at gas works parks for the view next time.

Ted M

Great brunch selections, good portions, excellent Caffe Vita coffee. Has a great view of the water on Lake Union. This is the smoked salmon Benedict that comes with a huge salad.

Simy Mo

They told me they expect blood on a pork chop, what do you say?

Rohan Thomas

Love the ambience, good selection of wine and great food. Great selection of oyesters too

Patricia Lewis

Great location on north end of Lake Union. Parking not a problem. It was cold and rainy the night we were there but the outside seating area with beautiful city skyline view would be spectacular in warmer weather. Roasted vegetable appetizer was good. Halibut fresh and quite tasty.

Kurt Maurer

Food was freaking amazing. I'm coming back.

Timothy Taylor

This is by far one of the rudest wait staffs I've ever encountered. They treated me and my party like we didn't belong there, even though we had gotten dressed up to meet the bourgeoisie environment. When ordering a drink at the bar, I asked to order a drink that wasn't on the cocktail menu, but a standard drink that any bar could make. They promptly asked me if I had a reservation, which I did. In an accusatory manner, they asked me who I was with and I pointed to my party. Then another waiter showed up and said I can't order drinks for my whole party (which wasn't even my intention). After being interrogated for about 4 minutes, I finally was able to order a drink for myself and hang out by the bar while uncomfortably being leered at by the wait staff and snobs that attend this place. We finally get to our table, and I had a few questions about the menu. The waiter must be under the assumption that every patron has to know what a crudite is, lest they be a plebeian that doesn't understand the first thing about ordering a $20 plate of chips and dip. In conclusion, this entire excuse for a five-star upper class restaurant on the water is really just a place to spend way too much money on not that good of food, while also being treated like a lesser human being.

Melinda Issakov

This is my ‘go to’ Summer drinks place to catch up with girlfriends. We love to sit outside and watch the water. You might have to wait for a spot but it’s worth it. If you can get there earlier you have a better Chace.

Peter Babler

Meh, another overpriced trendy eatery that got lost on its way to Bellevue and ended up in Seattle.

Jim Warren

Very well run with good food and attentive staff. Great happy hour on a beautiful summer afternoon with stunning views

Garrett Nakamoto

Great views of lake union and the city and a nice happy hour offering of drinks and local bites, including a good selection of oysters.

Joe Scanlan

What a great, relaxing place to chill out and pass a Sunday afternoon. Right on the water. With a really nice view of downtown Seattle. Food is great. Wine options are aplenty. The pickles are very tasty. Chips and fish dip is very flavorful. I also had the fish Benedict with a side salad. The eggs were perfect. Very very yummy. I would highly recommend Westward for both the food and the great location to just chill.

Elisa Lou

Had a really great brunch here last weekend. We had no reso but were able to get seats outside in the wooden chair area, perfect for groups of 2. Service was superb and it was great fun people watching. Some good photo ops as it's right by the lake. We got the Salmon Gravlax and the Smoked Fish Benedict, both were fantastic. We were too hung over to drink more, but the cocktails seemed popular. Would come back again during the summer.

Tim Kraska

Great menu and fun atmosphere

andrew fedorowski

Outstanding oysters, phenomenal salmon. But bring money - lots of it.

Green Monkey

They have beach seating where you face the water which is great on a sunny day. Possible that you're going to wait quite some time if it's a popular day just because the seating is reminiscing of a warmer climate resort type seating for part of the waterfront patio area. Inside is cute. The bartender that served me today has also worked at some of the other Rene Erickson locations and has always been really super nice. I love her themes for the restaurants. Great food. Had the lamb hash for brunch.

Nika Cull

Delicious food, awesome view, love the fire pit outside. Four stars because it was a bit pricey, make sure you don't block the bike path if you park across the street. We saw several people get tickets while we were there.

Stephanie Lynch

Best out door spot to gaze at the city. Great all around.

Greg A. Rice

Great location, great happy hour, great service. Very nicely accepted kids. Wonderful time.

Natasha Jansen

After reading great reviews about Westward, I squeezed it into my itinerary during our trip to Seattle. We arrived without reservation and were sat right away (it was early evening on a Sunday). We opted for outdoor seating which made it nice to enjoy the weather and overlook the water. We started with oysters which were overpriced for their quality and taste. For $3.50ea these oysters were just fine. They came with lemon and an extremely basic vinaigrette. They also could have been cleaned up a bit better as I kept getting some of the grit in my mouth. For the entree I got the Halibut on couscous. I haven’t had couscous like that before but it was very good as was the fish. By the end of our meal we each had a drink we wanted to enjoy and asked to get moved to the lawn chairs by the water but were told there was a 30 min wait time even though we saw multiple chairs that had been free for quite some time. Our interaction with the staff at this time was unpleasant. The girl at the front stand came off quite rude.

Erica Gustafson

Stopped by Westward for dinner with a friend at 5:45pm on a Saturday. We put our name in with the host and was told we would be at about a 20 minute wait. We went inside to grab a drink and were surprised to see 8 open seats at the bar and multiple empty tables. When we sat down at the bar, the bartender explained these were reserved seats and we needed to check in with the host. When we tried to order a drink he told us we should go to the outside bar. After a 20 minute wait we were able to order our drink. The poor gal behind the bar didn't seem to know how to work the register, hence the wait. We ordered our $12 drinks which were worth the wait. After 40 minutes of waiting our table was ready which ended up being a few chairs outside. We waited another 15 minutes before our server came by to take our order. We were pretty hungry by then so ordered our drink and food at the same time. The food was really good though it took about 40 minutes for our dishes to arrive and prices a tad high for the portions. I'd like to hope that tonight was an off night with timing, flow at the bar and service.

J Kai

Absolutely wonderful menu, great service, comfortable atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!

John Shih

One of my favorite brunch spots in Seattle. The place gets busy on the weekends, so make a reservation or go early to grab a seat outside on the Adirondack chairs that overlook the lake.

Paul Rico

Went the for brunch and got the breakfast sandwich. The staff was friendly and helpful and the location is awesome. The sandwich wasn’t that great though. There was a lot of bread for the amount of eggs that were in the sandwich and it was a little bland. OH, the potatoes were AMAZING though! If I were to ever go back I think I would do something along the lines of seafood.

ryanprim

Spectacular! Food, service, views, happy hour... it was all great here. Highly recommend!

Dennis Kornbluh

Great location, excellent food. Oyster bar has a nice selection of local bivalves. Visited once, and the service was a bit slow. Good to get there for happy hour, if you enjoy a bargain. The lamb shoulder is the best thing on the menu, IMHO.

Anton Ihl

Amazing staff and oyster selection! I've been to Seattle twice and have come back here for a reason. I'd highly recommend!

Brian Arnold

The location is great. We sat outside and had a beautiful view of Lake Union. The food and drinks were excellent as well.

Peaches Gall

A beautiful if pricey view with delicious eats

Cait Riggs

I really want to love Westward. But at the price point for dinner, the indoor seating area was so loud we could not carry on a comfortable conversation and the outdoor seating did not have enough fireside seating. The food is of excellent quality, but the ambient environment was lacking.

Jing Su

Food was tasty and rich in flavor. Portion sizes generous. Personally found the food too salty; hence minus one star.

Morgan Fogelman

Enjoyed the views from the Adirondack chairs looking over the lake! The chips and dip was delicious and service was top notch. Would definitely recommend.

Jeremy Lambert

Vibe is legit PNW chill. The oysters were super fresh. We even busted an oyster cherry! They also have a kayak launch.

David Olsen

Beautiful setting and excellent food. We sat in the chairs facing Lake Union and Downtown Seattle. The wait staff was wonderful. It was a bit pricey, though.

Jonathan O'Driscoll

Great view and very good food. I enjoyed it. Recommended to me by a local who knows restaurants and she was right on. Great choice.

Steve Hill

Great views on the waterfront. Server Tiffany was friendly inattentive! Oysters just right.

Christopher Rhoads

The atmosphere here is awesome, the food is excellent to boot. One of the top dining experiences in Seattle, the fact that it's on the water is just a bonus.

Karen Wong

Great view location and excellent service for my party of 10 for Sunday brunch. Will definitely come back.

johan renaut

Amazing view, delicious food (Pork chop + Risotto), great vibes - maybe just a bit too expensive!

Sean Fear

Quite spendy but food and ambiance are fantastic. Lamb shoulder is delicious.

Luc Vo Van

Very noisy but food was good

Ben Narcisi

Great view. Great food. Get the Blue Pool Oysters if you get them. Also the scallops crudite was phenom!

Michael Fiorillo

Good food and spot looking at the city across the water. We made reservations but weren't seated until well past the time

Kimberly Rizzo

Love this place, especially for brunch. Highly recommend getting several dishes and splitting amongst your group. We got the pastry of the day, breakfast sandwich, Dutch baby, and baked beans. Everything was so good - hearty and delicious!

Barbara Ballard

Beautiful view of the city. But $50 for two drinks and six slices of cheese seems steep.

Ryan Carlson

Westward has nautical casual with class nailed. Right on the steps of Lake Union with beautiful views and an amazing patio area make this a must visit for date night or a HH with friends. Try everything!

Heather Hendrix-McAdams

The Dutch baby pancakes with butternut squash were delicious. Great views too!

Aaron Schneider

Just a delightful experience. Food was wonderful and service was knowledgeable and friendly. Our party of 4 had several appetizers and entrees to share. The break even shot was fun. We ended with a lovely moment looking at the lake with blankets in the chairs.

ismael luis

Excellent food and service, fresh oysters, get to see the chefs cooking in the open kitchen, wood fired oven, beautiful views of the bay

Serge Lobatch

Came here for brunch. Spot is super cozy, with great nautical themed decor, but designed in a way that doesn't make it feel kitschy. Also lots of different outdoor seating options, from benches around a fire pit, to Adirondack chairs, to regular tables. Great ambiance for a night-time or day date. Food was tasty, and plating was really great. Price was a little bit on the high side, but the portions made up for it. Pretty great Bloody Marys -- not too much horseradish.

Leslie Rosa

Super rude staff, over-rated, and not worth it. From someone who works with world-class restaurants.

Yaprak DeCarmine

Awesome brunch and drinks. The food options are uniquely interesting and the interior is super cute!

Warren Jackson

A highlight of Seattle, great place to take guests. It is one of the rare restaurants that has a view AND has great food. The happy hour oysters were a hit. It turned out to be a great place to take kids since there is a little waterfront area next to the restaurant where the kids can run around.

Tony Bergeron

The view and ambiance is amazing. Escape from downtown and dine here

Mark Hancheroff

We love coming by boat to visit Westward. The drinks are great, and they have one of the best oyster bars in the area. We usually end up with 2 dozen oysters before we are through, everything is amazingly fresh. And you simply cannot beat the views. the outdoor beach chairs are amazing on a hot day with the best views of downtown seattle anywhere.

D.J. Mahan

Good. Not great. Good.

Nirav Desai

Great view north of town. Seattle really can do more with it's lake front. They specialize in oysters and lounge seats.

Philip Corriveau

Amazing food and service.. coupled with a great view of Seattle city

Jenny Mandl

AMAZING oysters, you can arrive here by boat if you want and the eggs Benny blew my mind. Everything was great and you can sit right on the waterfront. I’ll be back again and again

John Tietema

Great spot to take someone new to Seattle, and a local favorite

Megan Ellison

Fantastic views of Lake Union and Downtown Seattle. Good service. Interesting and tasty food selections.

Ellevehc

Nice place to go. Wait staff good. Food was good. Expensive though.

Matthew Peterson

Great ambiance, great service. Probably more expensive that it deserves. Food is just okay. Nothing to complain about, but I expected better for the price. I guess you're paying for the reputation and the view.

Ben Browne

The place has great ambiance. I would actually review the place quite well if it hadn't been for the horrible waiter we had. My wife and I arrived and put ourselves on the wait list for a set of the "beach" chairs. The hostess was very nice and told us that we could wait at the bar out on the dock. Perfect! Bartender was super cool and whipped up some awesome cocktails. After a shirt wait our seats were ready and we sat down with a lovely view and a delightful fire next to us. It was a little bit of effort to flag the waiter down to order but we didn't mind too much because we still had our drinks from before. When we were able to order some appetizers they were great and the different guy brought those to us. He was AWESOME! Friendly and helpful and attentive. But, sadly, he only brought the food we had ordered. When next we were able to flag down our waiter and order we then commenced waiting about an hour for food. The waiter was mostly absent during this time. After an hour wait we asked about our food. He said, sure, I can take your order. What would you like? He forgot that we had ordered from him an hour ago. If he had just owned the mistake and apologized we would have been good. But instead he tried to cover it up. So, all these words to say, a wonderful evening was spoiled by one poor wait staff. We left and ended up having a very tasty dinner elsewhere.

John Hushagen

I went there last night and was very disappointed. The portions were very small and foo-foo, and of average flavor, and way, way overpriced. Totally the wrong place for me, I guess.

Jason Woodard

Excellent cocktails, superb ambiance and excellent food served by warm knowledgeable staff. Need I say more?

Dan Lee

Amazing views and real solid food.

Viktoriya Burkatska

Love coming here! The sitting area outside is amazing. The whole restaurant decor is so authentic! Love their seafood especially their oysters! The vibe of the whole place is very awesome. Good drinks, servers are outstanding! My only downside was that they removed my favorite menu item. They had the best steak tare tare in town and to my disappointment it was no longer on the menu. All the other food was delicious though!

Raj Ajrawat

Not your typical "by the water seafood spot". Killer views and equally great seafood (looking at you rainbow trout, pork panzella, rigatoni). You will most likely need a reservation but if you have to wait just grab a drink down by the dock and soak up the view of downtown Seattle.

Jeremy Hawkins

Extremely good! First time I've ever had a meal worth taking a picture of.

Jannabeth Bannister

1st time here! Had a drink outside for HH with coworkers. It wasn't sunny, but it was manageable as there was a fire pit! Service was slow, as you had to wait till a server stopped by to order your drinks or food. You can't just go in and order. On a sunny day this place will be busy!!

Maria Stoddard

This place was so delicious! I started off with some Clams and ordered the Halibut as my entree. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in awhile. Everyone else in my party thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. 5/5 stars and would 100% recommend

Jill F Russell

We stopped by on a cold winter day, but because it wasn't raining, we wanted to sit outside. The bartender put hot toddies in a thermos and grabbed a bunch of blankets so we could sit around their outdoor for pit. Lovely!

Jen Heimbigner Pedersen

Gorgeous early spring day for Aperol spritzes and avocado toast.

Jason Sanford

Great view, fresh food, good atmosphere.

Roya Habibi

This is a must do in Seattle... ESPECIALLY on a sunny evening. If you can catch a reservation on their Adirondack chair seating, you'll be lucky and have such a pleasant experience! I unfortunately have never been ahead of the game enough to make that reservation, but it looks dreamy. The food is really unique, though typically smaller portions. Try out their homemade chips - the dip usually changes based on the season - because they are scrumptious. If you can catch a seat at the bar, you can keep an eye on the open kitchen and obsess over their well run service. The bartenders are also very friendly! This is a MUST DO in Seattle -- if only for the amazing views -- but the prices are good considering the view and the food is also great.

Chris McQuillan

Beautiful spot, right at the North end of Lake Union. Food has always been very good. They have lots of Adirondacks out to enjoy the view across the lake to downtown Seattle. There is even a fire pit encircled with oyster shells. Nautical themed interior which is very comfortable. There is even a little market for items to go. There is a tour boat business nextdoor, so when a of their boats are in the view is a bit obscured, but still very nice.

Jake Nessirio

Amazing place. This is not your typical 4+ star spot. This is on another level. Everything is perfect about this place. Fodd is amaizing, staff is attentive, atmosphere is magical. Beware! It can get pretty loud inside, so if you want a quiet place - try not peak hours.

Kelly Delahunty

The view is amazing.... the service and food always leaves something to be desired for where it is and the potential to be so much more. I consider it more of a drink place... even the appetizer menu is mehhh.

Adrianna Egan

I would give this restaurant ZERO STARS if I could. I was really looking forward to coming here because of the scenery and aesthetic. While waiting for a table you have to stand on a TINY outside patio and order from a very limited drink menu. (The view isn’t that great) The bartender was unfriendly and conscending as was our server. If you ask what something on the menu is be prepared to be talked to as if you’re an idiot. We were asked several times by different wait staff members, if we had a reservation, as if we didn’t belong there. The menu contains overpriced, mediocre food. ($20 for a tiny salad...) It’s comical that this restaurant tries to play itself as being upscale. I’ve been to numerous upscale restaurants in other cities where the food is actually of good quality and the staff knows the meaning of customer service. Sorry Westward, but you need to get over yourself and stop acting like this an exclusive place for the elite. If your considering coming here, save your money and find a restaurant with real food where they treat you like a person.

Cresta Cavanaugh

Inspired rustic comfort food. Amazing view. Recommend reservations on beautiful days.

Hyunmin Joo

Food and mood were perfect but little bit pricey

Scott Meis

Nautical vibe, delicious oysters, killer cocktails and a stunning view back on the city over Lake Union to boot? C'mon, too good. One of my favorite restaurants in town, hands down. Personal preference for grabbing a seat at the bar to watch the oyster shucking and small plate prep in action (not to mention great convo with the bartenders) followed by a nightcap next to the outdoor fire pit. Always a treat for date nights or group outings.

Gary Medeiros

DDDDEEEELLLIIISSSHHHHH!!! Awesome staff where everyone helps out. Totally going to go again.

Roger Knopf

Great view, friendly and fast service, nice brunch menu. My egg and sausage sandwich was a little bland, surprising given the roasted garlic aioli, and pretty hard to eat as a sandwich but had to be eaten that way to get all the elements in a bit, a little frustrating. My wife's scone with apple butter was awesome, as was the Caffe Vita drip coffee.

Shuting Shao

The services is fantastic. Food was very good too. Nothing to complain! Also - if you are cold sitting outside, they have blankets to lend to you!

colin elliot

Great for a summer cocktail at the bar, with good service and quality oysters. For fine dining I'd consider elsewhere as the food doesnt meet expections/the competition.

Carlos Wu

Oyster is ok and the lake view is a huge plus.

Jen Nguyen

Really great brunch spot. A little pricey, but pretty good!

Sarah Leviton

If you want to go somewhere and feel less of yourself, go here. I have been here three times. The first was alright and the other two were terrible. The staff is sarcastic and insulting.

Dylan

Local fare with a focus on seafood at a beautiful Lake Union waterfront location. Well crafted drinks, oyster shucking bar with lessons, and perfectly cooked rotating menu always satisfies. Service is on point. The outdoor patio and dock to moor your boat when visiting, is one of the most unique experiences in Seattle.

Vivian Ramirez

Definitely one of the best casual restaurants in Seattle. Awesome drinks, food, views, & vibes. Right on south lake union. Great for taking out of Towners, celebrating with a group, or dates. All around awesome!

Yue Wu

Best meal I’ve had in Seattle this week! Doesn’t bore at all.

Jong Lee

Amazing deals on oysters and variety during happy hour. Unique restaurant and one of the best in Seattle.

Eduardo Valle

Great outdoor seating to watch boats

David Elkins

This is a terrific restaurant choice on the shores of Lake Union, Portage Bay of Seattle, WA. Besides great cocktails, and enjoyed a superb trout dinner. The outdoor patio with fire pit is so relaxing, with panoramic views toward Seattle.

Patrick Yale

Great hidden gem.

Dave & Ellen Marsh

Made Reservations to have dinner with my son for his birthday on a Friday evening. Ordered the Halibut and Sockeye to share. Both orders were prepared very well and tasty, however no vegetables, no potato, no salad, no condiments and a very small serving for over $30.00 each. Beer was good, but expensive $8.00 per glass for tap beer and $13.00 for a shot of Rye. Also ordered the Cheese plate which was delivered by a helper, with no offer of information about each of the cheeses or what else was on the plate, so even though the cheese was very good and a reasonable serving size, we had no idea what we were being served. We were seated inside, and it was very difficult to carry on a conversation due to the background noise in the room. Felt we paid a high price for being able to sit near the water. Would not recommend this restaurant at all: Prices too high, portions too small, staff uninformed or not willing to share information about the meal.

Just Kass

DON’T EAT HERE!!! If I could give a 0 star, I would. Was here last night for dinner, and their service was horrible!!!! We had the rudest service I have ever experienced in my life. The atmosphere was okay. The food was bad under seasoned, flavorless, and over cooked, this place is definitely just for show. Their servers are less than nice. We had reservations at 5, the place was absolutely empty yet they sat a party of 7 right next to our table. They were very loud and so we asked our server if we could please move because my boyfriend and I literally had to yell at each other in order to hear what the other was saying. Our server said yes and pointed us to a new table. However, as I am heading to our new table this other server (older white lady, with black straight hair, thigh high boots and a black dress) rushed up to me and got infront of me blocking the table and yelled at me and my boyfriend asking what we were doing. I explained that we asked to move and were told it was okay by a different server. She told us we couldn’t sit there and was extremely rude to us. I have never had such a horrible experience in my life anywhere else. That woman should definitely not be working there as a server. The rest of the night she didn’t even come up to our table after we were finally able to sit down at the more quiet area, she didn’t apologize, she just stared at us. This experience was over all horrible and I would never eat here again. Stay aware folks their customer service is terrible!!! It’s not like they were busy, they could have literally sat us or the party of 7 anywhere else but that lady just had to be rude and disrespectful.

Hisham Kader

Friendly team, great location/ambience and delicious food.

Stefan Ichim

Bad food and small portions

so yeon Pak

Brunch/Dinner great place. Oysters on the half, manila clams, seasonal menu offerings and tableside view of Lake Union stretching out.

Anne Clark

This is in a great spot, nice selection of oysters, and brunch was great! Plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the delightful view and sea breeze on a nice day. A bit pricey and the service was a bit slow.

Uffe Hellum

Great service, beautiful food. Way overpriced, the food itself was good comfort food. Beautiful song on the nw corner of Lake Union. We were lucky enough to walk right in without reservation, and consistently treated by fast and friendly staff.

James

A wonderful restaurant with a seaside vibe on North Lake Union. Besides the great scenery and friendly staff, this place has amazing food for brunch. I brought friends here who were in from out of town and they absolutely loved it. Will definitely be back. Highly recommended. Outstanding.

Kris Chen

Great view to the Lake and of course, good food and wine! Can just stop by have some drinks with fresh oysters during day time or evening. Few food selection but taste fantastic.

Kip Wassink

The views here are amazing. sit out in a comfortable chair having a drink looking at downtown Seattle over lake Union hard to beat on a sunny afternoon.

Indi the Frenchie

Amazing food, amazing service, amazing location and view - if I could give 6 stars I would! Definitely will be back and would recommend Westward to anyone wanting a one-of-a-kind dining experience on the beautiful Seattle waterfront.

liz cole

Great setting. Great food.

kyle bonnema

love the oyster bar

Michael Natkin

Beautiful restaurant, right on Lake Union. Sexy space but always busy so it can feel rather impersonal. Good cocktails, good small plates, always plenty of vegetarian options.

Kate Murphy

Extraordinary service and dining experience. Food was incredible! Great views.

Brad Brickman

Limited menu, noisy, busy, nice view, expensive

aaron hooley

Inventive dishes, beautiful views of lake union and friendly staff

Joe Hachey

Great location and friendly service. Food was good, but not great

dolan leung

Oysters are good. Some tables have nice views. Food is good

Paul Saunier

We were greeted in a pleasant and friendly manner. With no table available we sat at the bar and it was a very pleasant experience, talking to the gentleman preparing the drinks for the restaurant. The oysters were just excellent; very, very expensive though... The clams were very good, perhaps slightly overcooked. The black cod was just excellent, melting in the mouth; but the overall dish ... was so tiny! Tiny piece of cod and one tiny serving of beans... I was soooo hungry, that did not do it at all! I was saved by ordering bread (and butter) which was excellent. My wife ordered a desert, which was very good; chocolate and ice-cream. It was huge, with a huge amount of sugar and fat... With one glass of wine each, our bill was quite high. Are we going to go back? Maybe... it will not be a priority.

Christiana

No line for Sunday brunch at 1015; in fact, the place was shared with only a handful of other groups. (Food was also great!)

Taylor Kendall

It's gotten a little too bro infested. The oysters are second to none, but come with very high rent. Your definitely paying for the view, which may or may not be worth it to you. If your used to casual Seattle this place may weird you out a bit.

Alessandra Hossley

The rainbow trout was amazing!! The staff were great and really attentive. Great views and nice ambience.

TheJusticeCluster .

Fantastic food! Do yourself a favor and get the heirloom tomatoes. The wood fired chicken was mouthwatering and the cocktails are well mixed and interesting! Pleasant atmosphere right on the water. We will definitely be coming back!

Mike Kelley

A very good place with great food. Location and facility are fantastic. My only not is the food could be slightly better. It was good, but maybe could be better.

Justin Juntara

Came for happy hour. The aperol spritz was refreshing and the oysters definitely hit the spot. Beautiful atmosphere.

Greg DeJong

Absolutely fantastic ribeye. Maybe one of the best in town. I really like the ambiance and the staff was great as usual.

Beth Anderson

This is the most amazing food service I think I've ever had. The food is amazing but the servers do a fantastic job, and the view is one of the best in the city. You should absolutely take your best friends here

Justina Melvin

Dinner and atmosphere is amazing! Its just up the road from Gas Works Park and its right on the water, very romantic. Little pricey, not too bad if you don't have drinks. I will go again for sure!

Jeremy m

The view is nice. Food was a little ho-hum. Nothing was wrong with it, everything was flavorful and service was great. Just not as exciting as i had hoped.

brenda krusemark

Great food, waitstaff was fine. Drink prices were too high for what you got- mimosa flute filled half-full, Bloody Mary in old-fashioned glass

Stanton Maines

I love the fire pit and you can’t beat the selection of local oysters. Farm fresh menu and an unparalleled view of Seattle make Westward a winner in my book spring summer and fall. Kudos!

Christopher Horton

Great vibe and view. Really cool outdoor seating. Food is adds up quickly but is delicious.

Cody Walters

Wonderful. Perfect setting. Service intentional in a good way. Food delicious.

Sinan Uşşaklı

Well prepared tasty menu. A bit limited choices. Somewhat laud inside. Good drinks.

Shelley Zhang

Great restaurant with lots of outdoor seating. The octopus salad was my favorite followed by the asparagus. Would highly recommend on a sunny day. Dress code is casual.

danloyol

Very good food, great service, awesome view

Jj McCarthy

Very great location. There is a short list of food options and it is somewhat pricey when you think about the options. Seafood options are great especially the clams (that opens up the amount of options but still same choice unless your a clam conessuier). Great area to get a drink and wait to be seated

Karin Collinsworth

Great view, yummy food, super drink selection.

Great space and setting! We went years ago after they first opened and had a lovely time, tried to go back 3 times but they were closed for various reasons so we finally made it back. We sat at the bar on the left (not sure what the difference is between the 2). Small but perfect oyster selection. Nice variation of wines. Cocktails are solid. The chips & tonnato dip is addictive. Will have to come back some day and have more of a meal.

I actually saw this place on the show "F***, That's Delicious", and I knew I had to stop by when I visited Seattle. It was everything I could hope for. Amazing location and views of downtown, excellent service, and of course outstanding food. I especially loved the breakdown of the oysters, all locally caught. I loved my experience here and would recommend it to all.

John Larrick

Food was very good. Portions not huge, but I did not leave hungry. The outdoor seating looks great, but I was there on a cold, rainy night. A reason to come back. It was nice inside, but somewhat casual.

Went here with family to celebrate graduation and had an amazing time. Ambience and views are wonderful. Happy hour oysters were delicious. Lamb was the best entree I’ve had in years. They don’t offer too many dishes, because they do what they offer perfectly. Our server was polite, friendly, funny, and even brought us an extra dessert on the house to celebrate. Will absolutely be coming back here with my friends.

All the food we had was absolutely delicious. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Enjoyed our night out.

Westward is always a home run. Great drinks, delicious oysters, brunch, dinner, you name it. Staff is friendly and helpful. In nice weather, the patio is incredible - right on the water, great views, open air. In cooler, damper weather, seats by the wood - fired oven allow you to watch the amazing chefs work their magic. Perfect for a fancy date night. Can't recommend this place enough.

I wish I would have came here during warmer days so I could sit on one of their lounge chairs and watch the boats go by. Other than that this restaurant feels very true to Seattle, unlike all the shallow Amazonian spots that are popping up all around SLU. The menu is consistent with PNW dishes. The service was perfect, our server came by just at the right times, and was very efficient, it never felt like I had to pause when someone walked by, everything was very seamless. The portion sizes were actually a lot larger than I would expect for a place like this, which is a huge plus, you don't feel like you're paying a fancy price for an uncomfortably small dish. This place is a must try for Seattle restaurants.

The food here is amazing and the location is really fun. It is expensive but you get what you pay for.

Elizabeth Martin

Good food, with a great view, and great cocktails. The menu is limited, and doesn't seem to change much, but it's worth it to go have a drink and oysters by the fire pit overlooking Lake Union.

Russell G

Great restaurant! Was there only for 30 minutes, unfortunately, so couldn’t try more things, but from what I had - the chef there is a virtuoso! Very friendly staff as well.

Joon Park

You can feel the Sunday seattle vibes if you sit at the chairs outside and have oysters and your favorite cocktails. Yummy food and drinks.

This is my go to spot when I need to treat myself or a friend. The pork is always cooked perfectly and they have a great selection of local oysters. The view overlooking lake union is majestic to say the least.

Court Lorenzini

Went there for brunch. Menu was small but tasty. Nice atmosphere. Great views and outdoor seating looking over Lake Union.

Cool location and decor. On the water with views of lake union and the parked boats. Great drinks that are super tasty. Love the olives. Most of the food is great but a few items are misses or let downs.
