This Restaurant is classified in the category of Pacific Northwest restaurant (US).
This place was incredible! The food was the best. This is my first time to Seattle. Hands down best service and the chef definitely knows what he’s doing.
Fabulous baked goods, tasty beverages, friendly ambiance!
This cafe is so special for me . I love their food , and the taste of home made food . Honestly , the prices are decent.
Great park in Seattle. Visiting my sister and ate at a local cafe that was within walking distance. You can see downtown Seattle from the park. Much to do and see.
Great food, the cakes are especially delicious and big serves. Lovely decor and short walk to volunteer park
Tiny little restaurant that surpasses your expectations. Looks like an old time corner grocery store (which it once was), with a New Age look when you enter. But a series of surprises await you as you read the menu. Choice of starters, salads, pastas and pizzas, both veg and non veg. Recommended: the buratta salad and the prosciutto pizza. You will come again.
Wonderful neighborhood cafe, cozy and casual. The offerings are delicious, fresh, and packed with flavor. The savory options sometimes lack and the price is a tad spendthrift. But the ingredients are quality and the service is very enjoyable so it is totally worth it. A great spot for a coffee and pastry or glass of wine and sandwich.
When I went to this place for lunch with a friend, it was very crowded. And for good reason. The cafe has a nice selection of coffee and pastries. The menu isn't extensive, but there's something to appeal to pretty much everyone. Aesthetically, I would describe the place as hip and eclectic.
A really intimate place, even for a large party. Had the Mediterranean style pizza and it was fantastic... I wish I could have it all to myself. Friendly staff and an upscale feel-- with good prices for a fancy experience. They need far more comfortable seating, though... my butt was killing me on those low-budget chairs!
Sweetest little cafe, really nice and informative baristas!
It’s the most fantastic cafe venue in the residential part of Capitol Hill. The coffee is nothing to write home about, but the pastries and the atmosphere make up for it in spades.
The baked goods at this cafe are soooo yummy! Great family friendly spot for lunch
From the outside, the place almost looks like another residence in a residential neighborhood, so coming here feels like you've discovered something special and uniquely local. The eclectic decor inside supports that, too, as does the selection of baked goods that each look homemade. I wanted to try everything. Had the quiche of the day and a muffin and was very satisfied. Great coffee as well.
Great comfort food. Tasteful decorations. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff.
Simply Amazing! Food, atmosphere, and neighbourhood. Go visit!
The jam! The quiche! The specialty baked goods! You can't go wrong with this quaint neighborhood cafe.
Hidden in this north Capitol Hill neighborhood is a former grocery store turned into a coveted bakery and restaurant. You cannot go wrong with the daily quiches, cookies, and soups. Many other baked goods and treats to try as well. There is limited outdoor seating when the weather is nice, and it can often get busy so be prepared to wait during peak times.
Great atmosphere and great food!!! Great variesties of breakfast choice - Quiche, biscuits, salads, baguette, scone, panini, sandwiches, muffin, etc... !!!
Best food I’ve had since I’ve been in Seattle. The
great food. all the time. every meal. the pizzas are good at dinner and the quiche i had for breakfast was amazing. my dad had the brie and apple panini and said its his new favorite breakfast sandwich.
Great coffee and good food. Nice and warm, lots of light because of the big windows.
Busy. Great coffee. Somewhat limited protein options for breakfast.
Wow BACON CHEESE MUFFIN! Amazing.
Showed up specifically for the quiche, unfortunately they decided not to make quiche today which was disappointing as it was the only reason I drove across town. Instead Had the bacon & egg panini which was decent though they could have at least melted the cheese. The real annoying part was the coffee. I've never had a worse cup of coffee in my life. It's not hard to make coffee, even Folgers would have been better.
A cozy neighborhood spot, perfect for a weekend brunch or weeknight dinner. The specials are my favorite.
Our experience at Volunteer Park Cafe was almost perfect. The atmosphere was great, service friendly, the food looked amazing, and the WIFI was fast. We would have stayed and ordered more (after our first coffee) since we were looking for a place to work remotely for an hour or so but we came to find out that every outlet in the cafe didn't work. Not that this would matter for most people, but unfortunately we needed a charge... too bad, this place was adorable.
Every week we go to dinner with my friends. The food is really nice. prices are reasonable, not expensive.
Relaxing slow paced cafe in a great neighborhood. Food are great, crowd is laid back, and if the weather is nice, go sit outside and enjoy the breeze. I heard that this is also quite lovely during the night, but I usually only do in the morning for the breakfast after a nice walk to the park.
Very good place with a great atmosphere. I can't wait to go back.
Really Nice Atmosphere!
The one hour wait for two brunch dishes was disappointing and the French toast was underwhelming.
The cafe is nestled in a residential area so it can be a little hard to find, but it's worth it. Great brunch items (I got the banana brioche French toast and really enjoyed it) but it takes a while to get your food due to the number of people. A meal will run you up to $20 and I wouldn't recommend going with a group larger than 4. Really cozy place.
Good food and great coffee, but crazy busy
Excellent......a perfect neighborhood setting and vibe. Strong coffee but good!
Good music and friendly staff
Good coffee and pastries, lots of really stuck up weirdos hang out here, though.
We drove down from Everett just to have the banana french toast. It's one of the best french toasts I've ever had!
I can't say enough great things about Ericka and the staff at VPC! We live nearby and the cafe has been a longtime staple for our family, full of heart and most importantly delicious food and coffee. We recently rented out the space to celebrate our wedding in September and had an incredible experience, with Ericka designing us a custom menu, and impeccable service from the staff all evening. I only wish we could do it again!
A must go if you visit Volunteer Park. They have very good coffee and snacks. I have also been there for dinner, but it is a far better coffee place than a restaurant. One thing to keep in mind is that at night, the atmosphere is romantic
The blueberry muffins oh my god. Actually all the food here is amazing. I have yet to have anything that wasn't excellent. Lookout for the line on the weekends AND it's worth the wait. I always have great conversations with folks in line here anyhow. A plus: three years ago the owner lent me the flexible flyer sled that hangs in the office for the most epic sled ride of my life. I will be back if it ever snows here again!
As a native of the Emerald City, and someone who spends at least a day or two every week down there driving the mean streets of Capital Hill, I'm shocked to say I had never even heard of the Volunteer Park Cafe (much less visited it). But luckily, someone else in my work posse had been there before and couldn't wait to take us all there for dinner during a recent work meet-up. We arrived on a sunny Thursday evening and I was immediately charmed by the quaintness of this place. The decor left many of the details of the original marketplace, while providing several tables for diners. I hear they're known for brunch (as in, a line out the door on weekends), but I gotta say their dinner was no slouch. We started with appies to share for the table. Everything from freshly (HOT) baked bread to mac 'n cheese, burrata, and asparagus. Combined with my delicious carrot soup I could (and probably should) have stopped here. But my tasty French Dip was yet to arrive, so I had to save a little room for it. All of it...ALL of it was excellent. And don't let me forget to mention the amazingly tart-yet-sweet delicious lemon tart with raspberry sauce we shared for dessert. This was absolutely a top-notch experience and I can't say you won't find me here again someday very soon. The service was absolutely fabulous too!
We went here for breakfast, which turned out to be amazing! Great options, both vegetarian and omnivore. We tried the banana french toast, brie & apple panini and the turneric latte, all of which were excellent. Very homey feel and great atmosphere, very good for couples as well as families or groups of friends. Would definitely come here again if we lived nearby.
Excellent drinks and pleadant service. Cute decor and perfect location. You can walk across the street to the shops and then come back for a recharge!
Vegetarian Review: If you are visiting volunteer park conservatory and tired for your long walk and don’t want to go too far, then this is a place for you. Cosy, small restaurant with limited but very tasty vegetarian options. I had soup and vegetarian sandwich both of which were delicious. The place has large windows and you can sit next to them, sip coffee, eat your food and get along with your weekend. It is loud so you cannot bring your books or laptop and work. There are people waiting on the weekends so the expected turn around is fast you have to sit on a community table or share your table. It is a self service restaurant.
Yup another cafe, serves hot and cold drinks. Sells edible goods. There are people that are paid to be here which are usually friendly. Place is kept clean.
Great coffee and tasty dishes. Nice neighborhood cafe.
Very nice cafe. We stopped on our way to visit Bruce Lee memorial. Emma was especially nice and helpful! She helped me and my family get a Lyft when our phones died.
Food is yummy, but they should keep the place cleaner.
Excellent prices and location- right in the middle of a nice residential area on the north end of Capitol Hill. We attended for dinner, and the food was very reasonably priced (compared to equivalent fare a few miles south of here) and very good. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, feels like a "best kept secret" sort of place. I'd recommend this place to anyone.
One of my favorite places around the city for breakfast very quaint and lovely with good food little pricey but typical for Cap Hill
A cute casual restaurant popular with locals and travellers alike. The food was good if a bit simple, with a nice selection of salads. The pastries / cakes were good and I would recommend this as a nice stop off on a walk.
The food was good and fresh. We had a sandwich made wrong and they corrected it right away. The fig and maple scone and fresh fruit tart were amazing.
Get a scone. Best in town and not what American's usually think of scones as...all dry and cakey. These are short, full of butter and flakey and...just buy a scone. The fig and maple is there if you want sweet, but I prefer the pepper and cheddar. OR, get two. This place is a hidden gem nestled away near volunteer park. Stop here first then head on into the park and eat your scones while you enjoy the view of our fair city.
Cute local cafe with excellent cookies/pastries. They have a small food menu that is a little expensive but good nonetheless. Had the french toast and it was delicious! Melts in your mouth. Coffee is good as well. Really liked the ambience. Definitely get a cookie - they are so good - freshly baked, tasty and humongous!
Delicious food. Comfortable, friendly atmosphere.
The most over priced food in Seattle. French toast was 2 slices of bread with a couple pieces of banana for $14, nothing else with it. And it took a very long time to get the skimpy little breakfast as well...A complete Rip off I would never go here again. I will only suggest people to not eat here.
Perfect - The food is great, the venue is quaint and fun and the atmosphere is buzzing - Nov 18th 2018 (happy 2 months!)
What a neighborhood gem this is! Fabulous baked goods, coffee, and lunch and breakfast specialties. Wish I lived closer because this would be my regular spot.
Best BLT you'll ever have!
Really cute cafe near volunteer park. Had Saturday brunch - quiche and salad, very good. Many delicious looking pastries. Cute decor and ambience.
Meat Strata....Yum!!
Really superb food. Baked goods to die for, which might be possible if you eat as much of them as I was tempted to do.
Excellent cafe with plenty of great options
What a delightful and warm place. I came here for a late lunch around 2pm or so, and it was still pretty busy. Finding a table is a little bit of a challenge, but well worth it. I really enjoyed my quiche, and indulged myself with one of their many cookies. I will definitely be back!
In general, I love this place! My only complaint comes from my experience today. I came in at 3 pm, confirmed with the staff that they close at 4:30 pm, ordered food and drink then sat down. Then at 4 pm I was kicked out so they could close early. Not normally a big deal, but I had asked specifically because I needed to be online during that time. Personal opinion: don’t post your hours if you’re not going to stick to them!
This is one of my favorite breakfast and coffee spots in Seattle. I’ve not had a bad meal or pastry from them - I highly recommend any of the scones, the granola with yogurt, the coffee cakes, the sandwiches... never mind. I can’t pick one thing that I’d have over the other. Just go!
A very quaint and cozy cafe with absolutely delicious food. Everything is made with a home-cooked feel. Their yogurt granola is homemade and their paninis are very good as well. If your looking for a relaxing cafe where you can read or socialize with friends, Volunteer Park Cafe is the place!
Volunteer Park Cafe has a great selection of drinks, sweets, food and a great atmosphere.
Great food, the French dip I had was amazing, and a very nice atmosphere( music, layout, and plenty of windows to allow outside light in). Will definitely be going back.
Very good food but the chairs outside are rickety (worried mine might collapse under my 230 lbs) and at least the day we ate there the dishwasher and server couldn't seem to produce a clean glass for my wine - after the second time I just wiped the rim and inside inch or so with a paper napkin and hoped the alcohol would take care of the rest. The orange juice from the previous occupant of my glass (mimosa?) was plain to see on the napkin.
love a place with communal dining table. try the turmeric ginger slicer. one of a kind.
The atmosphere is amazing! I have met so many great people here. Always a great local spot.
Nice neighborhood Café with patio seating available out on the sidewalk
The secret recipe that the ponytail guy uses to make the sandwiches is attitude and subtle racism; I have never been so badly disrespected by a worker at a cafe and won’t change my one-star review as long as he works there. I went up to the counter to ask about my sandwich because it had been 30 minutes and my boyfriend had already gotten his grilled cheese and eaten most of it. The ponytail guy immediately whipped out his most vile tone and the interaction went like this: Me: “hi, is my French dip sandwich being made?” Him: “everything that’s been ordered is being made. If you ordered it, it’s being made. ” Me: “ok, I was just checking because it’s been 30 minutes” Him: “some people wait 30 minutes, others wait MUCH more than that. You have to wait for things, did you know that??? we are busy. That’s how it is.” Me: “so you’re sure...” Him: “yes im sure. I’m a professional.” After his one-liner he spun around and kept making sandwiches, but he thought it’d be super witty and e d g y to make disparaging comments about me to his coworkers while I’m standing in line a few feet away. He kept looking over at me and saying “ugh, hurry and get the French dip done, we have an impatient customer who can’t wait more than 5 minutes” Excuse me? I said I waited for 30 minutes. Not to mention the fact that I’m from VENEZUELA, where people have to wait HOURS to get food and water due to the humanitarian crisis. You think I care about 5 minutes? Ironically, I finally got my sandwich 5 minutes after asking him about it, so you know that he forgot to make it but got mad at me for his incompetence. The subtle racism by this guy made the experience even more upsetting, as I am a queer person of color. Imagine my surprise when I saw a white girl approach him in the same way as me to ask about her order, and he suddenly becomes friendly and responds with a smile, saying “sorry, we we are a little backed up :) we will get it to you as soon possible :)”. What?? This guy clearly needs to get a new job, the service industry is not suited for rude, racist people like him. I was so upset at this point I brought it up to the cashier and she was super nice and understanding about it, I really loved her receptiveness and she even gave me a free cookie! I hope she has a chat or FIRES him.
Best french toast ever
Cozy neighborhood spot with a great window seat. Their tomato bisque is the cheapest option($6 or $7) and delicious. Pear& Brie panini is delish and so is the breakfast panini. Great mix of house-made pastries and treats. A bit pricey but they use fresh and local ingredients. Great coffee and the outside tables are a perfect way to soak up rare Seattle sun moments with an Americano in one hand and a book in the other.
Every time I've eaten here I have enjoyed it immensely. The food is fantastic and the ambiance is a dream. Feels like the sort of place you could write a book or design architecture at, very artsy and chill. Coffee and pastries are also excellent if you are looking for something a little lighter.
I love this place. Great coffee and brunch!
Decent food, good atmosphere, but watch out on hot days! So incredibly hot inside with no fans or anything. 5 stars if they could get a fan or something to make things bearable!
Very tasty French Dip sandwich.
great food and service in a fun and personal atmosphere.
Super good healthy food in a friendly setting. Lots of outdoor seating. Salad I ordered was missing one of the key ingredients listed for it on the menu, and the server was rather rude about it. Rather than just saying oops sorry, our mistake, he scoffed and said sometimes it has it and sometimes it doesn't.I had to insist and then he gave it to me to add, so it's not like they were out of that ingredient. But aside from that small issue, this place was delightful.
If you've never been you MUST go!!! Dog water spots outside, friendly atmosphere, amazing pastries, coffee and food. The best wait staff you'll ever have!!! This will be your next fav place to sit and chat with your friends or simply enjoy the atmosphere alone.
Great pastries and hot drinks, however the bacon and egg panini is extremely bland. The only thing I could taste was the tomato
Great food, always a place to sit despite long lines. Love it!
The carmel latte is amazing! It can get busy and crowded in the mornings but the employees are very helpful and the line moves fairly quick.
Great coffee, delicious and healthy vegan and gluten-free options. A pretty little spot, a good place to escape the rain. Often crowded, service can be slow.
The coziest cafe with great ambience and the best food.
This place is lit. And also deliscious.
This place does many things right. Food is absolutely delicious, decor is on point, service is friendly. The place is pretty family friendly, as I saw several families with young kids in the short time I was there. The only downside is the cramped quarters. There's not a lot of space in here, with a large table taking up much of the interior and the ordering line passing all the way through the inside, so it's not necessarily a super relaxing or private place to be. Overall though, I was very pleased with my experience!
Absolute gem! So incredibly cute and quaint. We sat at a table outside and I cannot describe how amazing the atmosphere is at this place.
Top bakery case in the area - their caramelized upside down banana cake
Good food, not fast. Soups, salads, sandwiches. The French toast with carmelized bananas, pecans, and orange ricotta was memorable.
Recommended to me and it did not disappoint! Reminded me of cafes in Napa. Very good food and cakes and pastries. They sell out fast so get there early for their desserts and baked goods. Will be going back to try more! There's a line at lunch but if you have the time it's worth it.
Always a tasty eatery. Finally made it during the day and had a wonderful quiche. Normally we go for cozy dinners in the winter and just love it.
Very cute small cafe. We reserved a table ahead of time for a party of 7. Great food, service and atmosphere.
Try the French toast, its bomb!
Kind server, cute decor, amazing pot pie with puff crust that smells brilliant and tastes even better! Also killer macaroni and cheese - which you can pair with wine. Love the communal table where you can dine with new friends.
Good coffee, sandwiches and salads, fast service and good atmosphere.
Good capucino and nice decoration.
Nice ambient, beautiful neighborhood to walk around and stop here for a nice coffee
This is one of my go to spots to bring friends. I am never disappointed. Although, while the food and ambiance is cozy and wholesome, the chairs and tables are often rickety or uncomfortable - even the super snug looking bench seats! Regardless, I love this place. The french toast is out of this world.
The sandwiches here are fantastic. I deducted one star because it is VERY expensive. A nice treat, though.
Awesome food and atmosphere.
Nice place, drinks are great an so is the staff
Food was great, place was a bit cramped but that's to be expected for a small cafe with a good menu. Would go back for sure!
Things I liked: food turned out to be better than I expected, and more filling than I expected. Coffee was good. Check-out person was friendly and smiled. Drawbacks: 1) the wait. Just... if you're hitting it at a popular time, plan to wait. Simple as that. People are pretty chill, it just is what it is, but... it can be very slow. 2) There isn't coffee while waiting. Have to get up to the register and order before being able to get coffee. 3) It's quite pricey. I heard it's basically all organic, locally sourced ingredients, so you gotta plan to pay a bit extra for that... but you're not going to find any deals on this menu. 4) Not really enough seating space. 5) The system for getting one's food (go up, stand in / right next to the line for ordering one's food, angering people who are wondering if you're cutting, and also people sitting at tables right next to said line; hope to hear your name called amongst the din) is kind of a cluster. Overall: I probably wouldn't go back, but I guess everyone should try it once? If you like the wealthy, yuppie vibe and all the good things that go with that, this is the spot. If it were a little quieter (to be fair, I hit it at prime brunch time on a weekend), it could be good.
Cute place to be seen, but very expensive for what you get. Tasty cinnamon rolls
Excellent breakfast but you have to wait. I assure you that it is worth it.
Mediocre food, nice warm interior, often crummy seating options.
I like the atmosphere so have visited several times to take out coffee. But, their food was terrible. Cold quiche and 0 taste(super plain) panini was not worth for waiting 45minutes outside. They even got our drink order incorrectly. haha
One of Seattle's best lunch and breakfast doors. They always have excellent fresh baked goodies, seasonal artsy decor and really tasty food. The ambiance and location can't be beat.
Charming, excellent food and service.
French dip made me sick for a whole day. Don’t do it!!!
This cafe has a nice local feel in a lovely neighborhood. The pastries looked fabulous. Though there might have been a shortage of savory vegetarian breakfast items, there were a lot of yummy prospects. I had the very decadent ricotta stuffed Banana Brioche French Toast. The coffee seemed very reliable. My friend had the soup which was vegetarian. They have splendid farm style table in the middle of the cafe that gives the place a sense of community and lends itself to making new acquaintances.
Quintessential PNW neighborhood cafe
Food is great. 3 stars is for the service. They are wayyy too slow! On a sunny Saturday at almost 2 pm, the line goes all the way out to the street. While I was waiting I observed the 2 food preparers. They seem very disorganized and it took more than 5 minutes to make a sandwich. I can't really judge on their food sanitation but being disorganized almost almost always lead to loopholes in cleanliness, so... The lady who took my order was very nice and helpful tho. She gave me good recommendations on food with the least wait time. I know waiting half an hour for a sandwich on a Saturday is probably ok for many people, but it certainly is not if you have a hungry cranky toddler who also happens to hate crowded space.
Went to a friend's bday dinner here. Food was delicious and served family style for big groups. Great attentive service too.
Great cafe, with awesome location next to volunteer park. The food is always good, great coffee, lovely ambiance and staff. Definitely recommend!
Cute place, nice atmosphere
Always super busy but they have the best cookies.
Lovely little cafe, great fare, excellent drinks. Small grocery for daily sundries. The ambience here is fantastic. It feels like an old general store with liquorice and rock candy stickers on the counter.
Cool little place. I love that they have vegetarian options but the curry garbanzo beans was pretty bland.
My wife and I decided to try this place out on an impromptu date night. We were not disappointed. Awesome atmosphere, outstanding food, and friendly service. By the end of the meal we were already discussing what we were going to order on our next visit. Definitely recommend!
They always decorate this place so cute! Very welcoming place with natural lighting. I have only tried the coffee, granola, and the quiche - all are great. The granola is a little pricey ($12), but the quiche is reasonable ($6). My only critique is sometimes you leave smelling a little bit like hot cooking oil, but maybe you like that sort of thing? Try it and then go for a walk in Volunteer Park, maybe check out the Volunteer Park Conservatory, too!
I am visiting from NYC, walked in and stood confused for 30 minutes. No one bothered to ask me if I needed help. The menu is confusing. I asked for help and they were very rude, I guess they only cater to locals. Do not waste your time here if your not from the area.
Neighborhood meeting place with funky style. Excellent pastries, salads, sandwiches and coffee. Sometimes quite busy, so be prepared to wait and chat.
Love everything about this place. Ask for the fresh white bread on your sandwiches! A little pricy, but it's the area.
A cosy cafe in a leafy, quiet neighbourhood. Ideal for conversations, quiet reading or a beverage and pastry interlude on a busy day. Excellent food and friendly service!
Communal, intimate - whatever you need it to be. Counter-service in a snug, bustling neighborhood space. The quiche and strata are my usual delicious go-tos, but I had a bacon scallion scone and a pear muffin (hey, no judgment here!) this past weekend which wholeheartedly reinstated my faith in both types of pastries.
So yummy, beautiful area to eat
This is an excellent cafe, with great food and coffee. The place also has a great decoration. You can choose to eat inside or on the street. I was feeling cold and tired after visiting Bruce's grave, and this is a very great place for a bit of rest and warm up.
Good food but extremely expensive! Everyone is very kind, but the prices are a bit much.
Good food, happy people, fair prices. Great coffee. Busy, active neighborhood atmosphere. Outside tables, not much shade. No A/C.
It looked like a very nice park, pretty flowers. But if I'm being honest, I just went for the sign. My new favorite book for the last 2 years has been, "Where'd you go Bernadette?" And this park is right up against Galer St.
Nice sandwich coffee shop. Cozy communal table. Window seats. Friendly staff. Blt sandwich was delicious. Most recent visit in October 2018: the cooking staff was very inefficient and took 20 minutes for my pull pork sandwich to be ready. It was delicious but it was very irritating to wait this long for a sandwich in theory quick to prepare.
Amazing French Dip!!! The perfect portion of meat to cheese to onion....and the au jus was just right in the "not too salty" venue. We'd stop here more often if not for the nonexistent parking :-( We also grabbed 2 of the Bittersweet & Sea Salt cookies, which were the perfect end to an awesome lunch!
Great family breakfast place . Limited options. We loved the savory scones and the coffee cake.
DON'T COME HERE! ;) It's already crowded with devoted Seattle folk who que up for homemade EVERYTHING in the cutest converted house cafe in Seattle. Adorable and delicious!
I wanted this place to be good as the atmosphere and location is great. Cool historic home turned into a rustic, trendy little restaurant. Very busy but had a good vibe. I asked for gluten free options and it was like she had to google gluten free. I ended up getting two over done pooched eggs, slab of salty, over microwaved bacon and 3 slicers of avocado that was on the verge of going bad. I couldn't even finish the bacon. How often do you not finish your bacon?? I don't think I can even give it a second shot. If it wouldn't have been for the fact that you pay before you eat I would've asked to take it off my check.
Yummy food (tomato strata!) and chill space. Nice server. Great for a date or studying/working. Inexpensive options.
Great service
Great coffee--the mocha was not too sweet or too bitter which is hard to get right. Great ambience, and great service
I live in Magnolia, so this is out of the way for me, but will stop by for a cookie in the future. I was walking my dog in this area and got the worst case of low energy hypoglycemia. They were setting up, not yet open, and I was desperate. A nice lady unlocked the door and gave me a [free] warm cookie, and that cookie was out of this world. Thank you for helping me out. You guys are lucky to have this business in your neighborhood.
This is THE nicest neighborhood cafe in Seattle, in my opinion. Take a walk in the neighborhood and enjoy a cup of coffee with good options for Breakfast & brunch. They used to have a baker who'd do the most delicious banana bread but there is still plenty of good stuff to have.
Great food!!
Great cozy brunch place in an old house in a residential area. Matzo ball soup and latte were exceptional. Lively neighborhood vibe
Awful experience. Very slow service. Small and expensive portions. The extra salad for $5 is a joke (just salad leaves - no tomatoes, nothing). Rip off. And the food was cold when we got it. When we pointed that out we got an annoyed look. Avoid.
Hidden gem. Great food, great coffee, and staff is always friendly and happy to see you.
Stop by for best scones (truly the best ever) or for dinner... or lunch. Everything is good.
One of the first places I stopped at when visiting Seattle. It was great. Very welcoming and I love the setting. Food was prepared well and VERY tasty. I recommend this place as a true jewel of Seattle .
Wholesome Seattle eatery from the good old days (e.g. the early 90’s)! Amazing food, soul nourishment.
This is just a great place for food and they also have good coffee the great starters pastas pizza, a little pricey but pretty good.
We ordered the french toast which was quite good, very creamy midlayer though, as well as the French dip which was also really good but more of a lunch meal than a brunch. Overall both were good but I wouldn't say spectacular. Would come back if in the area again though.
Cute little cafe. Beef dip was delicious, as were the cookies. French toast was good too.. Extra filling. Quaint, and delicious.
A little bit pricy but excellent service. They’ve made it accessible by adding a ramp to get in, and the atmosphere is very cute. Also, while it’s a little pricy, the food is good.
The coffee and pastries are good. Lunch for my wife and I was $42, took a half hour, and had little flavor.
Updating my review to give higher star rating after my first visit. This place is good!! It's a little pricey for casual breakfast foods but everything is really good quality, fresh and well made so I'm ok with it as a treat. I had the daily special meat quiche and two huge slices of toast with butter and homemade raspberry freezer jam. My friend had a very yummy looking grilled cheese. Both came with a green salad with a tasty vinaigrette that was citrus-y and bright. I got some chocolate toffee cookies to go that were an A+ - soft and chewy with some good crunchy bits around the edges. It's a super sunny spot, a bit small, but decent amount of seating and outdoor options, too.
