I love coming here after a hike! I dream about these burgers and the boozy milkshakes are so amazing(the reg ones are awesome too) the banana brûlée one is the best! It’s so fresh with real banana chunks in it. All the sauces for the burgers are made in house and each one is awesome in its own way. They let me try them all once and I think I fell in love with the this place even more.

Ordered a burger, fries and a shake though door dash and was completely unsatisfied. The burger was lukewarm with one single piece of lettuce on it that looked like it was a month old. After hearing about this place for so long and living in the area, I was totally upset at the quality and presentation of the food. I will not patronize this establishment again!

Excellent service, food, and atmosphere! We love our burgers and hot dogs and this place beat all the others we've had. We ordered one Steak n Bacon, one Mushroom n Swiss and one kids hotdog. Everything was perfect and delicious. Definitely will be back and you should check them out if you haven't!

Public Service Announcement: I’m writing this from the alley behind Shake Shake Shake. It’s as far as I could make it before my body liquidated the burger I just had. In truth, It didn’t look so bad when i went in- but then I took my 3 year old into the bathroom. It was filthy and she couldn’t reach the sink to wash her hands because it was an aluminum pail on the counter with a faucet and a drain on the bottom -WTF?? Doesn’t deserve one star but I think people who live outside of Tacoma should be forwarned. From the reviews, this place is a well lovees staple of Tacoma.

Honestly I try and leave positive reviews at most places but I want to be honest. The shake here was incredibly mediocre especially for a place called shake shake shake. I really like the vibe and the employees were very nice but if your name is shake shake shake your milkshake should be good.I did not try the burger they looked really good I would try that another time but I would not order a shake.

Super over priced, burgers are decent. Boozy milkshakes are a rip off! Cost WAY more and you don't get as much shake, they don't give you the metal cup with the extra and they just throw one shot of alcohol in there. Overall save your money, go to Frisko Freeze and bring a hip flask.

This is my go to place to bring visitors from outside Tacoma. It's a very fun environment to be in. Great for families and hanging with friends. The last time I went it seemed to be a little on the dirty side, the floors just seemed to be very scuffed but that's just proof that allot of visitors just come in on the daily. Very popular, and all my friends love eating here too.

This is literally the best burger I've had in the world since I moved to the neighborhood over 2 years ago. Anytime I stray to try another place, I'm always disappointed compared to SSS. The food here is FRESH. The quality of the meat is the star - smashed onto the grill, juicy (literally drips), crispy on the edges, full flavor. I like their toppings of crispy onion slices, pickle and lettuce - no anemic tomatoes which slide around and serve no purpose. This is a well thought-out burger! I always get the Double Double and french fries (they are skinny, crisp and so tasty). Their shakes are great, as well as onion rings and tater tots. The dipping sauces are also wonderful, I skip around truffle aioli, honey mustard, umami bomb and special sauce depending on my mood. The atmosphere is lively and cheerful, it's sooo delicious!

No! No! No! Terrible. Didn't have a shake but definitely had a horrible experience. How hard is it to order a double-double with no onions and a bacon cheeseburger no veggies? Instead they got the bacon cheeseburger no veggies, a plain hamburger with bacon. The tots were so grease soaked they were inedible. The buns were both burnt. We didn't have time for them to remake it because we were just trying to grab a quick bite for an event at the Temple Theater. I'm not even mad at the price of $23+tip, more mad at the waste of time trying to eat it.

This charmingly anachronistic burger joint calls back to Archie comics and meeting your friends after school for a shake. The main draw, as the name implies, is the amazing selection of milkshakes. Sadly for the vegans and lactose intolerant among us, if there are dairy free options, they are difficult to find on the menu. They do carry vegetarian options for their burgers, which are very satisfying, if equally messy. It's clear that this place is directly courting the after school crowd, and if you're looking for a place to recapture that feeling of avoiding homework, figuring out what to do with the weekend, and maybe inviting Mike because he has a car, then Shake Shake Shake is a safe bet.

Could be great. Shakes are fantastic. Burgers, o rings are great. Some of the staff need to go. Watched our burgers sitting under the heat lamp for five minutes before our young waitress (they don't wear name tags) decided she could spare the time to deliver them. Why she is there when she clearly doesn't want to be is beyond me. Woman in charge is a gem. Would have gone 3 stars were it not her.

But it's a fun retro vibe so not a deal breaker for my wife and I. We go every now and then and recommend to friends. Hope you enjoy :)

I might be willing to give this place another try, as the staff were very nice! Overall a little disappointed though. I ordered the beyond burger which is already priced significantly higher than other burgers. They were out of vegan mayo so I was stuck with a dry burger that I already paid the premium price for. It also came with a wimpy piece of lettuce that covered about half of the burger. Again, staff were nice and I understand running out of products. I just feel I did not get what I paid for.

I loved Shake Shake Shake! Delicious food at great prices in an adorable setting. There's a perfect balance of old-time diner with modern decor (see attached pic #1). The "eat" sign is a great spot for pictures. You order at the counter first before you sit down. I got the seasonal dirt pie milkshake which was so yummy and creamy. It was definitely more filling than I expected, and I got the smaller size. For my meal, I got the Mushroom Swiss burger with fries. It was flavorful and savory. I loved every bite. I ordered the smaller size in the fries as well and the portions were huge! Very reasonable prices especially given how much food you get. Loved how delicious everything was and how friendly the workers were.

I went to this restaurant a few weeks ago. Went out to my car because I forgot something. I heard one of the baristas talking about how they haven’t cleaned their milkshake machine in months and laughing about how dirty the kitchen is. I heard another barista say Brandi shh but both laughing. I don’t find it funny that they are laughing at how dirty their restaurant is and how that can make people sick. My uncle works for the health department and I will be reporting this restaurant. And as for that Brandi girl she should be ashamed of herself

I consider myself a burger connoisseur, and Shake Shake Shake is hands down my favorite burger in Tacoma. If you tend to prefer a juicy burger with classic ingredients, a tasty sauce, and a lot of meat & cheese, the Double Double Cheeseburger is for you! The fries are good (but not my favorite), the shakes are great, and the staff and atmosphere are always inviting. 5 stars for sure!

I was expecting a little burger and shake shop and was pleasantly surprised by how tasty everything was! We walked in on a Friday night only to hear a possible 1 hour wait for food based on the crowd. Shakes were out quick and the burgers and DELICIOUS FRIES AND ONION RINGS were out within 20 minutes of ordering. Had the steak & bacon with pepper jack and caramelized onions, it was good enough to want a second 1/2lb burger! Quirky malt shop feel with great food you'd expect with a tasty twist.

The guy in the back isn’t wearing gloves. He’s continuously touching his clothes and even wiped off his mouth while handling food. I was a serve safe certified restaurant manager and this place is breaking many food safety standards. On top of that, the woman who took our order was scantily dressed. We will never be coming back.

My coworker and I had our first Shake, Shake, Shake experience this week on National Cheeseburger Day! How else would you celebrate it, right? We loved the food! This place was a complete disappointment for my family. The shakes were received well but who doesn't like shakes especially if all the other food is bad? First, only the chicken fingers came with fries. Everything else just came stand-alone. My daughter got a corn-dog which was small and came with nothing else. One son got a hot dog which again came solo. My other son got an adult hot dog with bacon and steak sauce that he didn't like because it tasted weird. My wife got the chicken fingers and she did not report on the quality of the chicken but she was the only one to get fries and the fries were terrible. The fries were short and skinny sticks of potato that were mostly crunch with little flavor. In my opinion the fry situation really put the whole experience into perspective. I got a burger which was nothing special and no fries. Go anywhere else. This place is overpriced and the online menu prices are lower than what you'll find here. If you like fries McDonalds is right around the corner and their food is better. If you want a good burger you should go to 5 guys or Red Robin or a host of other places. If you want a shake maybe try this place out. However, I wouldn't. I'm pretty sure Red Robin makes better shakes too and parking is easier.

This place is amazing!!! I heard of them from doing Uber eats delivery pickups. I tried it myself, food is phenomenal, and the ice cream, shakes, and floats... Are just amazing. Awesome diner feel. The restrooms are fun too... You have to visit to know what I'm talking about. I like the bar seating, the round pads that swivel. Makes me feel like I'm on the set of grease. It's a great place!!

Loved this place.the food was delicious. Food was a little slow but well worth the wait. I had the Stadium Burger and it was unbelievably good. I'm really partial to skinny fries and tots and they've got both. The Siracha Ketchup is so tasty and a must for anyone who likes a little kick with their potato sides. I didn't have one but my sons said their shakes were also very good. Quote when my youngest first tasted his shake, "Oh, wow, that's good."

This a great old fashioned burger place. Very nostalgic. The kids chicken tenders were a bit dry. The kids meal doesn't come with a drink and a kids shake will cost you about $3.79. Overall good place to eat. I like that the burgers are made to order and not a frozen patty. It's almost always busy and very popular place for shakes. They have a boozy shake that has vodka in it for $7.50! They do Uber Eats and Grubhub. The wait is worth a great burger.

Absolutely delicious. Everything on the menu is so good! Not too far from the board walk, we were able to lime scooter there in about 20 minutes. Its a great place to stop by if you're ever touring the area. Also try the banana split I was able to get a picture of, it will change your life.

So this is one of those reviews that I don't enjoy doing cause the food is not bad at all. Burgers are yummy. And shakes are good. 1 issue is that when they first opened the place was clean and well taken care of and now it's completely dirty and gross. Carpet in the ordering area is Soo gross I could gag. Chairs don't appear to have ever been wiped down since opening. Soo yucky you feel dirty while eating. Big hole In The ceiling where bugs were crawling in and out. Yuck

I came into the restaurant about an hour before closing time after visiting the Tacoma Night Market, sat at the counter for about 15 min and was completely ignored by staff, i though maybe I needed to be at a table, sat for another 15 still completely ignored, I finally figured out on my own that I had to order at the cash register. While I don't expect the staff to wait on me if that's not their job I do at least expect to be given some direction as to how and where to order, a simple "hey buddy you need to order over there" would have sufficed. The food was actually pretty good and I probably would have given this place 5 stars otherwise All in all it was an unpleasant and awkward experience aside from the food which was good, I hope this review helps to change things but I for one won't be back to this place

The chili fries were really good. The burger was pretty good too, appeared to be hand made even rather than a typical frozen patty. It was just a little messy with the special sauce. Overall a pretty neat little place on the corner, worth checking out.

Hands down, the best burgs in Tacoma. The retro diner atmosphere lends to a fun, nostalgic and energetic experience. Their shakes are absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this great Tacoma grass roots restaurant. Support the locals!

Good shakes but sub-par service. Workers on the floor didn't pay much attention to us and would ignore us when they were calling our numbers! The whole table ordered at the same time and we got our food at wildly different times -- times that took forever. Most of us were done before the we all had our food. Fries weren't very good (and they were cold). Nice scenery but not-so nice food and service. Probably won't be going back for anything besides the shakes. That being said, the strawberry shortcake shake is delicious! And the woman at the counter was nice.

I was really looking forward to having a cheeseburger this afternoon . Perhaps I had unrealistic expectations about how long it would take to get a burger to go - i’m pretty sure it was in the 20-25 min timeframe at least and they did tell me that my order would be next but that was another five minutes. Frustrated I just asked for my money back because I did not know when or if there was a burger forthcoming. It really didn’t appear to be that busy. It was further disappointing that no one seem to care that I just wanted my money back. It certainly seemed like there were enough employees. Maybe I’ll try calling my order and next time .

Service was terrible, we didn’t get our drinks until after we finished our meals, and even then I had to ask for it! Burger was also dry and flavorless, definitely not worth their asking price.

The burger was delicious and the interior is nice. Only small complaints is the music was really loud and it took a while for our food to come. Good place though!

I came here looking for amazing onion rings and found them! I had a coupon for a soda that they weren't excepting but they took it anyway and then investigated the coupon to have it removed from the website. Super nice. They didn't have to do that. The large onion rings were huge and the tarter sauce was great. I will be back to try other things. I'm not a big burger fan but I'd love to try the chicken burger next time. And the customer service alone made it worth coming back.
