You will be able to see all the feddbacks of people like you who know the services and products of Santa Rosa Taqueria (Restaurant) in Washington.
As of day the firm has a score of 4.3 out of 5 and the rating was based on 386 reviews.
As you can read, it has an average rating is high, and it's founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can say that the evaluation is very accurate. If many people have bothered to give their opinion when they are pleased with the service, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to give tatings when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant is included in the category of Mexican restaurant.
Food was yummy and fast. Good place for a quick bite. There was a strange smell inside causing a 4 star review. We sat outside. Sangrias were good.
The happy hour special (2 margaritas and chips/queso) was good. The margaritas are normally 7 and you get 2 with happy hour for $10 but the ice is pretty heavy. I'd say lighter I've and this is the place to be!
The tacos was done fresh but could have been a little hotter instead of warmer making it taste a little better. It was my first time there but I had better at Tortilla Coast around the corner from establishment on the hill. Four tacos for $37 not worth it in my opinion. Overpriced.
Cool little lunch spot, pretty good food, not a bad place!
Amazing tacos only a short walk from Capitol Hill!
Good taste but meat shy
Perfect little tacos. The ingredients are always cooked fresh that day. The Chorizo and egg filling is one of my favoritez, warm and gooey, and so good. The crispy shrimp are also perfect. Indulge yourself and save room for one of the cookies.
Pretty good, good tacos for a good price
Tacos are better than District Tacos.
Came for a margarita after a long day of museums. Terrible service! Cashier clearly hates her job. Huge disappointment.
The carne asada tacos and the pollo tacos are amazing.
Great spot, great food, reasonable prices. Time will tell.
So so so mouth watering delicious
I loved it. Great food and very nice people. They even gave us a free cake for showing up 2 days in a row. I know, it was that good.
Great tacos, wonderful ambiance and awesome service at a reasonable price. What else can you ask for?? Two thumbs up!!
Great, filling tacos. Tasty street corn. Decent chips with good salsa and sauces.
Average Mexican restaurant, nothing special. Not great, not bad
Nothing spectacular. I had a steak burrito and it comes stuffed w/ rice, beans, cheese and pico de gallo. The flavors were bland and basic. Great for white folk that want to eat "mexican" but prefer boarder walls. I also stayed long enough to enjoy happy hour which was actually a good deal of two margaritas or two beers or a mix of 1 each with chips and queso dip. The classic margarita taste like it was 75% club soda. The grapefruit margarita taste like it was more like dated OJ than grapefruit. Ultimately, not sure I'll ever seek this place out as I'm sure there are other Mexican restaurants that are and actually have an authentic taste. Should've known there was something about this place, safe food, safe music (bachata), no real substance.
Sooooo I tried Santa Rosa out one day for happy hour about two months ago. Now I come at the very least twice a week!! Love this place! The food and drink are awesome! I personally loveee the street corn, the fried shrimp tacos, the chips and queso, and the variety of margaritas. On my way there now lol ✌
Great street Tacos - order them "Mexican Way" for great toppings!
Tasty tacos especially the carne asada and fried shrimp. Margaritas were strong and flavorful, try the peach.
HAPPY HOUR! The staff is one of the friendliest ever and the atmosphere inspires you to unwind after a long day and let loose with friends. Can't beat the prices for good drinks and food.
Been here twice. Love the fish tacos. They also have a pretty good happy hour as well. The manager (I think) is super cool and friendly too!
Pretty cheap not fancy or super high quality but quite tasty nonetheless and very conveniently close to the capital. A great place to go sit for a margarita.
Cashier not overly friendly and staff did not really know stuff. Food good and quick but not best corn tortillas as fell apart in hands. Spicy shrimp taco my favorite.
I really enjoyed the patio outside and their food is good too. They have good quesadillas and tacos. However their interior decor was mind blowing. Very chill place to hangout esp in summer.
Salt is the predominant flavor.
Awesome spot
Amazing Tacos!!
Love, love, love the shrimp tacos
Has a nice deal of two margaritas and chips for cheap. Good place to keep the fun going without breaking the bank
Perfect place for a tasty fresh lunch. We had a large variety of dishes and they were all great. Tip: order the tacos the Mexican way with fresh cilantro, radishes and onions on top. Delicious meal! Great guacamole and salsas
Best food I've had in the zipcode. Innovative, yummy, reasonably priced.
The food was ok.
I stopped in here for a quick bite to eat while walking around DC. The service was quick but I found my tacos to be sadly underwhelming.
Had the chorizo, barbacoa, and al pastor tacos. Great flavor, portions, quality.
First time eating here, enjoyed the food very much, look forward to coming back. Atmosphere and staff were both very nice.
Really good tacos, happy hour 4-7 and Margarita on tap.
This place was SO good! Also, nice upper level for extra seating. Affordable and fast. Thanks for a great lunch for my family and I!
Best ever and the margarita are the bomb
Great lunch tacos and beverages
This Restaurant Seemed Good At First But For A Real Mexican Like Me It Doesn't Qualify As Good. You Order Your Food Before Sitting Down Like A Fast Food Place, All The Stuff You Put On It You Get It Yourself, So There Is No Waiters. The Tacos Were Very Expensive, $4 For Each Taco and They Were Very Small. The Food Looks Picture Good But The Meat Didn't Even Taste Good, I Didn't Get That "Street Taco" Taste That They Heavily Advertise Everywhere On Their Website. The Salsas Didn't Have Any Taste Or Spicyness At All So My Food Didn't Taste Like Anything Besides Tortilla and Dry Meat. We Also Ordered Some Nachos and For The Price They Have Been The Smallest Most Expensive Nachos I Have Ever Gotten Anywhere. The Bottom Was Completely Drenched In Cheese and The Top Of All The Tortilla Nachos Was Dry. The Meat Was Super Salty and Even The Guacamole Didn't Have Any Taste. The People Here Are Very Nice and They Are Fast With Helping You Right When You Walk In, But For Future Reference If You Have Someone In Training, It Would Be Best for Them To Shadow Someone And Not Be Put Into The Ocean To Drown. The Cashier Didn't Speak Spanish Very Well, She Was Very Relieved When She Found Out I Spoke English and Got Our Order Wrong Three Times. Not A Place I'll Come Back To Eat.
Fun little atmosphere, good menu, great tacos. Didn't try any margaritas but looks like they have a good selection!
Amazing tacos and margaritas! Happy hour deal from 4-7 includes chips & queso and two margaritas. Their flavors of margs are pretty great. Cute little atmosphere. Only downside is the inside is really small so sometimes you may have to wait a few minutes for a table but there’s some available outside as well
Very good food, very tasty, clean please and neat.
Cute place, incredibly fast food prep, decent prices. Iffy customer service, but would come again.
Tacos!!! They have delicious vegan choices with tiny modifications. I've never gotten sick here (I have a mild dairy allergy). The guac is good and they have a good happy hour. It's a good place to go when you're on the Hill. It's fast and tasty.
Great spot for a quick bite of some tasty Mexican food. Ordering is easy. Standard Mexican beer is on tap (Modelo, Pacifico, etc...)
Tacos are really good. Shrimp tacos, mushroom tacos and kale tacos are delicious. They also have margaritas and beer to purchase!
Delicious homemade tacos with happy hour specials you can’t beat!
It was a good place with lots of strong and pleasing colors all around the walls. The food was nice and the kids meal looks a little small for the 9-12 year olds so if you have a teen, make sure that they don't order the kids meal. They make the food fast and there wasn't any line. I think that this place would be good for hanging out and having a conversation.
Such good tacos. Nothing else to say.
Fantastic food and decor! Made me miss California a little less
Small beer for big price. Tacos are best deal at 3 for twelve but mediocre; if pressed for time and you can beat the lunch rush, then why not?
This food was absolutely delicious and fresh. I have walked by a few times and said I'm going to try it. Well today was the day. I'm glad I did and my mouth is dancing. I'm alreadyyyyy planning my return with fam and friends in tow. Looking forward to exploring their menu.
Friendliest staff and the manager is always welcoming guests and helping out. The food is so amazing— you will be happy from eating there food. Happy hour here is actually the happiest place to be in DC.
Santa Rosa Taqueria is a delightful find quick serve restaurant with great food. We had the burrito, a variety of tacos, and chips and guac+salsa. It was all freshly prepared and flavorful and there was an assortment of delicious sauces. There was cute outdoor seating as well. Definitely on to go back.
Amazing food! Chorizo and egg street taco rocks! Go for happy hour special... 2 margaritas and chips and queso for $10! Yummy!
Please come here for gentrified tacos - no flavor & single layered corn tortilla tacos
Loved food
Super yummy and a good deal...we got the 3 tacos for $11 and you can choose corn or flour tortilla....only thing was, the corn tortilla was too thin and fell apart, probably needed 2 tortillas per taco. The fillings were DELICIOUS! I got the carne asada, the spicy fried shrimp, and the kale with rice. Soooo yummy and the shrimp was not spciy at all (I'm a spicy food wuss, lols). My husband had the chorizo and egg, al pastor, and barbacoa and he loved his tacos too. We didnt get any of the frozen margaritas but almost everyone had one and they looked yummy too!
Good flavor~☆
Perfect lunch spot if you want tacos! I’ve never seen much of a line and I love the views of Penn Ave upstairs.
Very good happy hour specials, very good food.
Omg the cookies.
One of the best places on the Hill for tacos. A solid fast casual option.
Wait time and service was fine, food was great. Definitely want to come again.
I ordered a quesadilla here which was 7 dollars. the employee working here charged three extra dollars and pocketed the money without my knowledge. beware that there is an employee here scamming people. she did not provide I receipt. Please be careful and make sure to check your bank statement afterwards. If this woman is stealing $3 from every customer she has, she is getting rich off of fraud and needs to be fired. I wish I had her name but she hid her identity. the quesadilla was good though just beware. Whoever this employee was needs to be fired. I’m appalled.
Amazing!! We had barbacoa, shrimp and chorizo & eggs. Chorizo and eggs was the BEST!! Margaritas were delish and legitimate margaritas for “happy hour. “ Highly recommended!!
Food is delicious
Best Queso in the city. For seriously. I love there happy hour specials that come with 2 drinks and chips and queso.
Great food and quick service.
Not an authentic mexican food. Ok flavor.
Great tacos. Looks small but it's very filling. Nachos very good. Love the different salsa.
I love this place! Shrimp tacos are awesome. Awesome. The classic margarita is also delicious. If you ask for less ice, you don't get more margarita though. The decor is super cool, and the servers / people who check you out are usually friendly. I appreciated the buy one get one free deal during the government shutdown. Thanks guys!
Boutique Mexican restaurant right next to Capitol Hill. They have a variety of tacos, burritos, and bowls. Tried the shrimp bowl which was light but the order was incorrect as they forgot the mushrooms. Very inexpensive for a quick lunch.
Great addition to Capitol Hill, really delicious pre-designed street tacos. The spicy shrimp taco is an instant classic.
Stopped in for Taco Tuesday for lunch. There were no specials but the tacos were cheap at $4 a piece or 3 for $12. I had the chicken, carne asada, and Al Pastor (pork) along with a mushroom one. Pretty good tacos and a delicious strawberry watermelon fresca to wash it down. Service was quick and was back to work in a speedy time. I will be back.
Lovely local spot with great food!
Good food and drinks. Very simple but I did like the queso cheese, everything during happy hour was Inexpensive.
Better now than a year ago, but still not great
Too expensive, doesn't worth it
If you order ahead of time for catering and pick up don't ever expect your order to be ready on time. No matter how many hours ahead of time, no matter how many times you've ordered (three in this case) it will never be ready on time. And then they are rushed and may forget to include a side (e.g. cheese).
Decent prices, good salad for vegetarians
Best shrimp tacos in DC—and I’ve tried a lot! Also can’t beat the happy hour deals here. The margaritas are cold and strong and the queso is fantastic!
Awesome , i highly recommend this place , we the pizza and good eats also next door
My favorite place of flavor
The Al Pastor taco was super yummy, and the margarita flight was a good deal and also very good. The mushroom taco was not good and I love mushrooms so idk what was going on with that. The place was fun inside and clean too.
Hey dudes, my wife and I visited this place while sightseeing and it was amazing! Casual atmosphere with great tacos and the margaritas were very refreshing. I would definitely recommend if you are visiting DC to check out this charming place and enjoy some great Latin American food.
The tacos were super delicious. The service was super fast and the prices are very affordable. I would suggest the carne asada and pastor tacos. So good.
Amazing food and fast service! Great street tacos, especially the Spicy Fried Shrimp Tacos and the Barbacao Tacos with the radish and cilantro!! The Mexican Street Corn was hot with phenomenal flavor! Very quick service too, was able to do lunch within an hour!
Good, quick place for tacos!
Was overpriced for the quality and quantity of food you got. The margaritas weren't that good and one of the tacos I had was excessively spicy. The chips and queso were pretty good.
Great Great greaaaat Mex food here, super friendly staff.
Really good tacos, love them!!
It’s ok
Great street tacos made very quickly. And the happy hour special is fantastic, two margaritas, chips and queso for $10.
Best tacos on Capitol Hill for sure. Maybe even all of DC (havent tried tons). The shrimp tacos are my favorite along with al pastor, although very spicy. Their happy hour is awesome and queso is good as well! Definitely recommend over District Taco thats down the street!
Excellent value. Yummy tacos, tasty margaritas.
Loved it! Super fresh Mexican food.
Had the carne asada tacos - excellent! $4.00 per taco rich isn't crazy. Definitely coming back. Lots of seating. For WiFi ask for password.
Amazing cookies, smashing margarita and awesome tacos!!! Would go again
Only visited once. Fair price for a bowl. Good amount of food. They give a device that alerts you when your food is ready. A chill place to eat. I prefer it over Moe's and Chipotle (practically the same prcies). I would definitely come back here if I'm in the area again.
Shrimp tacos are great! Happy hour nachos and 2 margaritas for $10. Is awsome!!!
Good food, service, ambiance, music, drinks
The staff were really nice. It was clean and the food was pushed out quickly and it was delicious. Just as a heads up you order your food up front they will then give you a buzzer. Find a table and once the buzzer goes off you pick your food up at the pickup window which is to the left of the cash register.
Visiting from Orlando and this has been the best place we have eaten. We came 2 days in a row for lunch!
Good food. I'm from Texas so all Tex/Mex is not good up here. This place is good and is leaning more towards authentic street tacos more than Tex/Mex..
Fun environment, but nachos and margarita were underwhelming (Not bad, just not the best either). But the environment and outdoor seating are worth it.
So good, we had to go twice in 3 days while visiting DC! If/when we visit again, we will definitely be eating here again!
I volunteered nearby and am always happy when I forget my lunch. Delicious tacos (warning, some are California spicy) and beer on draft. The al pastor is a standout with strong pineapple.
Their happy hour deal on margaritas is great.
Love the margarita happy hour 2 for 1 with chips ! Food is not amazing but love the shrimp taco
Decent food at inflated prices. Best part is the salsa bar.
Food was delicious, line wasn't too long a wait. Would visit again!
Excellent tacos. This place gets very busy at lunch so find a seat after you order. Don’t forget to get the fresh salsas. They are very good too.
I've eaten here a few times and LOVE their tacos. I never go alone so I can get escorted out... Otherwise I would eat ALL the tacos! You can't go wrong with any of the food. Also the service is great, the atmosphere is cool, and the food preparation is efficient... They make it quickly!
Very good food.
Best tacos ever...with a nice to twist on a traditional taco
Delicious, fast and easy taqueria. I came across it by chance although I understand the founder is a reality TV star. Loved the margarita, the natchos were great but too much on top of the great fish tacos. Ordering was simple, place your order at the bar and grab a buzzer to let you know when to collect. Definitely on my list to stop off next time I’m there
Some of the best tacos I've had in a while. Delicious vegetarian options and moles make this a go to lunch spot
Love the salsa bar
Delicious street tacos and corn. Very happy with the quality of the food and spices.
For a fast casual place very tasty! I do agree with other reviewers in that some of the tacos are a little "wet". The carnitas could have less sauce. The happy hour deal 7 days a week for 2 margaritas chips and queso for $10 was a steal! Definitely would go back. I really appreciated the taco toppings bar
Spicy shrimp tacos with grapefruit margarita never disappoint.
The tacos are tasty, and it's not Santa Rosa's fault they're popular, but the restaurant gets overwhelmingly crowded and kind of unpleasant. I ended up bolting my tacos and beer outside in February because a bunch of open indoor seats were being saved for folks who weren't there yet. And I paid $13 for that privilege! It you're interested in going, avoid peak hours and/or dress for the weather.
Best tacos I had in Washington
I give it 3 stars because the atmosphere is fun, but all of the tacos I ordered all had sour cream on them. They were still yummy but not what I was expecting from an authentic Mexican restaurant.
So, I wanted to really love this place considering all the great things I had heard about it. Unfortunately, when I came here after work one day I got very bad food poisoning so I would never come back.
Great place near the metro to grab an easy happy hour margarita and tacos. It's probably my go-to meet up with friends for a quick dinner place.
Got the mushroom and shrimp tacos, which were destroyed by the gross crema and guac, which tasted like they came out of a squirt bottle.
Get a taco with pork on flour tortilla mexican style. Amazing.
Awesome tacos but can be crowded.
A much better place that burrito brothers. Even though prices are near the same, the quality of the product is so much better. Was worth walking 2 extra blocks for the food.
Amazing Tacos, West Coast approved, great happy hour margarita and queso. Perfect
My favorite taco is the chorizo + egg. Fun vibe, good cap hill lunch place.
Santa Rosa is a nice addition to its sister restaurants We the Pizza and Good Stuff. Not the best tacos in the world, but decent tortillas and very nicely done flavors on the meet. Definitely a step up from somewhere like District Taco, but no replacement for your favorite authentic taqueria in the city.
The food and service was great. Don't miss out!
Great taqueria and solid vego options!
Nice to see healthy options on the menu. It was pricey, but that's what happens in the big city.
Food was good, but not perfect, too much AC and atmosphere is somehow a bit cold, despite the colorful decoration.
It looks appetizing in the pictures but the taste was bland. Lack of seasoning and the meat was soggy and overcooked. I am not of huge fan of District Taco but I think their food is much more savory than this and cheaper.
I hesitate to give this place a glowing review, fearing it will blow up and I won't be able to get in! —I'm kidding, of course. Everyone should go here. Bring a vegetarian and treat them to a mushroom taco. For the meat eaters, they have the best (and very spicy) al pastor. [UPDATE: They took the heat down quite a bit on the al pastor. It makes it a little easier to enjoy without a glass of water beside you, but kind of a bummer all the same. They still get 5 stars, tho.] I'm not a taco expert or anything, but if street tacos have always been this amazing, get me on the next plane to Mexico.
Great tacos!!
Popped in for takeout and was very pleasantly surprised at the quality. Only reason I say that is bc the pizza shop next door under the same ownership of Chef Spike is lacking due to pizzas sitting out too long then being run through a heater when you order them. Fortunately he got the Taqueria right, like he did Good Stuff Eatery two doors down, and went with not only quality ingredients but quality service & delivery. I had three tacos (carne asada, pollo grillado, and spicy fried shrimp) with a side of street corn. All were very fresh, corn came off the cob easily like butter with very little tension, and the sauces for each had a good mix of flavor on their own but I spiced it up with the red sauce from the bar. Solid addition to the neighborhood. Hope it hangs around for a while.
Great lunch spot. Cheap and good eats
What a great colorful location. The food was great, tacos are just right, real corn and made fresh. Fillings are all over the from veggies to bomber beef. Don't forget the toppings around the corner by the pickup counter. Last but not least a classic frozen margaritas. Sit in the outside seating area and sip it slow. Cookies... Oh my ;-)
