Fantastic service, despite how busy it was with only 1 bartender. (Cant remember her name but blonde girl with glasses) she handled it like an absolute boss despite being bombarded with 2 incredibly needy parties of college age girls and their friends. I appreciate her dedication and effort, and she was not afraid to lay down the law when needed. Also, the food was excellent!

My daughter said this is one of her favorite spots, and said I should try it soon. I decided not to eat at the Bite of Seattle yesterday, and stopped by to grab a burger with my girlfriend. I ordered the Sam 50 burger, and she had the Aloha burger. My burger was great, hers not so great, there was no teriyaki taste whatsoever.

For me it wasn't my style. It's a really small dive bar with little room to stand, the bathrooms were disgusting to use. I felt like I was being suffocated. Service is decent though, some of the security lacked professionalism towards people that I saw trying to come in

It was my first time at Sam's and it was a fine time. I'm a vegetarian and there weren't any really strong options but I had a grilled cheese with avocado which was great. Service was friendly, I had questions about the place (like what was upstairs) and they were very happy to answer.

I love this place for what it is...a semi grungy place to get what is probably the best BLT on Capitol Hill. The only reason Sam's doesn't get 5 stars from me is because their Old Fashioneds are hit or miss. Sometimes they taste like they have WAY too much bitters.

Waiting for a waitress to finish chatting with her friends before you get a plate to eat off off is annoying, ridiculous, and inconsiderate...And it's even worse when it's your birthday. for that matter, he isn't even though when he greeted us or take our order or rather drink the bartender (the very cute bartender!) did that. She has avoided talking to us the entire time I typed this on my cheap smart phone by talking to everyone else, then to the dishes. A kitschy Bloody Mary, while cool, isn't worth the time.

Got my wallet stole AT THIS BAR. then the next week they wouldnt accept the paper Temporary ID i had to use for ten days. No other bar gave me any trouble with it. The Washington state paper ID is a legally acceptable replacement in lue and as a CDL holder mine also has my picture on it. I will never return yo sams and will actively try to direct people yo do the same.

Sam's Tavern is one of my favourites in the neighbourhood. There's really cheap Ranier during happy hour, good beer on tap for when you deserve it, and the burgers are really tasty. I particularly like the Jalepeno Reno and Juicy Lucy. The decor is great, and there's actually a big space upstairs where you can usually fit a big group in without trouble - though call ahead if you want to be sure on a Friday or Saturday night. Moreover, the staff have been really awesome to me over the years. They've helped out with little things, been patient with parties, and even helped charge my motorbike once. Good folks, no-nonsense, what more can you ask for?

They've completely succeeded at becoming a dive bar that seems like it's been collecting urine on the bathroom floors for decades. It's perfect if you're in the mood for a dive bar with down&dirty everything. If you're in the mood for something a little more sophisticated- skip it.

Sam's Tavern and their dollar Raniers at happy hour are a Capitol Hill staple. The burger challenge, while difficult to watch someone complete, is fun. I just wish they had more seating, they are always crowded.

Sam is the Best Bar Tender. UPDATED: I must say that the last time I was in, Sam the Bar Tender was no longer there. I'm going to have to change my 5 star rating to a 1 star. The service was not at all good. They were quite rude as a matter of fact. The food was greasy and cold. It just wasn't the same customer service like I'm accustom to with Sam. I wont be going back, that's for sure.

I like it here. It's not a five-star establishment to begin with but they will charge you five-star prices. Location is everything as they say, which is a great reason why you'd want to visit. I had to knock off a few stars because my credit card was overcharged by about $5 the last time I went there. It's not enough money to change my life but it's the right amount for me to think someone may have done something they shouldn't have done. I'm 100% sure I'm not mistaken about the overcharge but I have no proof. You'll just have to take my word for what it's worth. I wanted to at least make sure my story is documented in case a pattern arises. And yes I did tip.

Not awesome but pretty dang solid. Foofy dive bar on the 'it' street of Seattle. HipHoppidy Rap from live DJ on weekends and cheap, dirty bear by the can... works. The wide open windows and a bit cold seating arrangement gives it a bit of a vanilla vibe... so close... I do get it and don't ding em... just saying.

This place was voted best Bloody Mary and best burger and they did not disappoint. The Famous Bloody Mary came with a mini slider and all the traditional mixins. I ordered the 50/50, but after tasting the mini slider, I wished I would have just gotten the non-fancy burger. I like a simple, delicious burger and the slider hit the mark. The 50/50 was good, but all the fancy toppings and the 50/50 patty were a little much for my tastes. Two of my friends were adventurous and got their burgers chimichanga style. The Mexican burger came out good, but the Chili cheese burger not so much. The chili was stuffed inside instead of poured over the top of the chimichanga and you really couldn't tell it was there. The place was quite on a Saturday afternoon, but still had a good vibe.

So the signage says til 2am. But if you show up at 1:50 the guy at the door says they are done for the night. Even just for a shot. So maybe change your times til 11-0150.. Rude in general! Will definitely spend my money elsewhere. Wish I could give a lower score.

So.. what can a person say about Sam's Tavern that could truly capture the experience it is to be there in person? Especially when one hasn't actually been within 2500 miles of the place? I tried to convince them to open a franchise up here, but oh no, they'd rather focus on giving their 'local' customers good service. Yeah, it's admirable and all, but it cost them that 5th star! To be clear, I am a fair person, I gave them an opportunity to earn that 5th star back by starting to deliver here. I mean come on, it's only 2500 miles.... a good insulated bag for the warm stuff and DC cooler for the cool stuff, what's the big deal... but oh no, they just laugh at me... :-D In all seriousness, if the staff on site are half as amusing and entertaining as whoever tweets for them and their food and drinks are anywhere close to as good as they look, you'd be a fool not to check them out. Well, you know, assuming you aren't thousands of miles away!

I'm from out of town and the bartender was a real hag. I tried to order the easiest thing on every menu from any bar I've ever been to and come to find out there's a local favorite that replaces it. No big deal. I would've drank anything. The attitude hurt my feelings. Cool bathroom though.

Felt welcomed from the first time I arrived. A locals vibe with a friendly bar staff that would make a tourist or out of towner feel right at home. It is posted everywhere but DO NOT sleep on their Bloody Mary. It is on numerous Best Bloody Mary Lists for a reason. I always stop by the kitchen before I leave to thank the kitchen staff for their killer handy work. HIGHLY recommend.

Single handily my favorite bar in Seattle. It has fantastic bartenders who will quickly learn your drinks and preferences and remember them for a surprising amount of time. Happy hour is incredible, $2 Rainiers every day till 6pm (open at 11), burgers that are always hit the spot with a great mixture of greasy and diverse flavor. I go here every time I'm in Seattle even if it's to grab one beer and say hello to the staff. Top 10 Seattle spots that are overlooked.

Intresting dive bar, with great burgers and one of the best bloody Marys I had. The special bloody Mary, comes with a slider and a skewer of cherry tomato, olive, a wiener and cheese. That makes it work the trip alone. The service is good, with pretty good drinks though kind of small so its harder for lager parties. There is a second floor with beer pong.

The OG Red Robin with the fire dank fries and godlike burgers, morning or Night!!! Atmosphere is very grungy and "trashy" but its all a facade to hide a very well oiled operation. A good change from the rest of the pretense in the neighborhood with arguably the best bartenders, it's a must stop on a Friday, Sat..Sunday..Monday has a good happy hour..oh and maybe Wednesday too for bingo?

Went here trying to grab lunch around 2p.m. on a wednesday and they were really busy. We thought the place looked great and would be fun to go to. We expected to wait a little bit for service because they were so busy, but it took 15 min for a waitress to even bring us menus even though I had asked for some after about 5 min of several waitresses walking past without even acknowledging us. She acted like it was a chore and dropped them off without even asking if we wanted drinks. She never brought us water or came back to take a food order. We waited for 25 min with no service! She spent the whole time two tables over flirting with a group of guys and we never saw her take an order from them, she was just hanging out. We tried to get another waiter to take our order, or get someone to our table, but no one ever came by. Worst sevice in all of Seattle. Don't bother.
