REVIEWS OF Sakuramen Ramen Bar IN Washington

Robertson Russell

This place has complimentary green tea and rooibos tea. The takoyaki and karaage were superb! Super satisfying for a hungry party of 5. As for the tonkotsu, the broth is perfect and the cabbage is such a great addition. If you're a veggie person I recommended getting extra veggies. Also, if you're sick and suffering from allergies (like my friend) I recommend the shoyu...the broth isn't heavy like the others. Friendly staff. Prices are reasonable.

Andrew Zane

Best ramen in the area. Real inconsistent on the spicy level, but they err on the side of not spicy. Add an egg.

Julie Sellers

I ordered ramen and an order of buns from here using postmates, placing my order at 5:00 for a 7:00-7:30 delivery time. The food arrived about 7:50, and to be honest it was subpar. Noodles were not that flavorful, and the frozen corn the restaurant added to the ramen made it feel and taste kind of cheap, though cheap it was not. The veggie buns were good, but the fact that the quickest delivery time was a 2 hour wait, early on a Saturday night when I doubt anyone was there is beyond me. I live in the neighborhood and have passed this place a million times, but won't be returning here and won't be using postmates again. Completely inefficient service for overpriced ramen.

Normally I go here and it's amazing. But sometimes the server staff are disregarding. Other than that, food is amazing

Anthony Salinas

This is by far the best ramen in DC. There are several options in the city and I've tried them all. I like this location because the ramen is served at the best temperature and they give the option for the spice level based on a 1-10 scale. The wait time can be an issue gut it is certainly worth it. The venue is small and the customer service is super! Located in everything AdMo. We usually have dessert at one of the neighboring restaurants.

Chris Stafford

The food was awesome, and the staff were super friendly.

Justin McMillin

Very good ramen though the atmosphere is a little cramped.

Ashley Curtis

Got the Sakuramen, the broth had amazing flavor and the mushrooms were really tasty. Will be coming back here.

Kayno Carrington

Came all the way from Woodbridge to come here for my birthday. Was quite a trek, a drive plus a few trains. Didnt get there until around 8:30. The place kinda hidden and filled to the brim. Not very thrilled about their seating. Pretty cramped in there. But the food is good. The meat ramen (i forget what its called) is my personal favorite. But for the amount of trouble i had to go through to get there, it's unlikely I'll go there again unless i just happen to be in the area. It was good. But not worth the trouble in my opinion.

nancy miranda

Best ramen in dc and they always have the best music on

Daniel Perez

Awesome place to get some great ramen! This is probably my favorite place for a ramen fix. They have traditional pork broth along with chicken broth ramen, both are delicious. My favorite is the shoki bowl (meat lovers) which is chicken broth packed with their chashu options. You can choose the spicy level of your broth as well, from 1-10. I enjoy spice, so I get 7 which has a good kick, but 10 is also very delicious, but definitely spicy. The space is pretty cramped, and the service isn't amazing, but the ramen alone is enough reason to go.

rodogg34

The food is good. Good setting. But not as comforting sometimes because they'll play hardcore rap music lol

Nicole Weborg

We were in town for Otakon and decided to see if there were any good ramen places around. This place was amazing. Better than anything we've ever had. The buns were delicious too. Service was pretty good and the food came out fast. Highly recommend!!!!

Dominic Lewis

This place is honestly the best. Super friendly staff, amazing food, and relaxed atmosphere.

Cory Trese

Terrific Ramen spot with comfortable seating and great service. DC Miso was awesome and the dumplings are fantastic. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner. No reservations.

James George

It wasn't as good as first time. The meat was too rough and cold.

Shaun Edwards

Always loved this place. The atmosphere, the quick service, the tasty food. The meat lovers Shogi Bowl is amazing.

Stephen Friedrich

Smaller casual atmosphere. Simpply, they do ramen right.

Gretchen Carter

Amazing!!!! Set apart from other spots

Orlando S. Herrera, Jr.

Fabulous food! Great service! Would go every chance I get.

Mukesh Bhakta

Always delicious and consistent. We go every 6 months to this gem for the past 5 years. Shroom bums out of this world. Vegetarian Ramen broth A++ and add some fireball to it. The dashi egg in the Ramen is amazing and make sure to get it.

Roxana Ginjaume

Excellent food, good service.

Nathalie R-H

The place could easily be missed because it's in a basement setting. Upon entering, there was practically no wait time for a party of 2 on a Sunday afternoon. It looked like a popular spot with a quick turnaround time. My order was delivered to the table just as quickly as it was taken. Their ramen has spice levels from 1-10, which is a nice little touch of customization. Only downside I could think of is there is only one unisex bathroom, so that could be an issue when it's a crazy day. Overall: pretty good ramen, large size, great pricing, I would recommend this place to someone.

Emily Munn

I came here several years ago with some friends and had a great time. Got to recently introduce my husband to this place, and he LOVED it!! He said it was the very best ramen he has EVER had! Made my day!!

Katy Stedina

We've eaten ramen all over the world including all over Japan. This is nothing special. Service isn't great. And they have no alcohol license. Meh.

R S

Best ramen I have ever had.

Cameron Dicker

Ramen was very good. Music is a little too loud

Allister Laurel

Didn't expect this place to be that great compared to other ramen places I've been to but it was definitely one of the best

Jesus Calderon

Amazing ramen! The atmosphere is very chill. Service was great. This is THE ramen spot!

Mercedes Sheets

I love this place. My first time going to a ramen bar and it was AWESOME.

Aditya Gaddam

Great place for fantastic ramen. They have a great veggie option as well. They don't do reservations but for 2-3 people groups, the wait is usually not more than maybe 10-20min when it's busy.

Pierre Publico

Great friendly service. The place is located at a basement and plays cool hip-hop music. The ramen was extremely good and I suggest you try getting the pork belly buns, they're amazing. Come with a small group because it is a tiny space, but the flavors are huge. Will visit again.

Eva Brodbeck

Love the food, slow service, not having handicap entries. Expensive.

Artur French

Delicious ramen and nice atmosphere.

Aidan Holland

Love this place, I have been coming since the begining and it's still amazing!

M Sams

No frills delicious ramen in Adams Morgan. Inexpensive for this area. No reservations. The restaurant is relatively small basement space. So there can be long waiting periods during peak eating times. However, once seated the service is good and food is served quickly. The term "Bar" is misleading, since they do not serve alcohol nor are customers allowed to bring in alcohol.

Fenice Thompson

This place is like a second home for me. Please do yourself a favor and eat here. The tonkatsu red is my favorite along with the spicy pork buns! SUPER affordable for the amazing food you get. SLIGHTLY crowded but you are always seated in a timely manner, even during peak times, and the food makes up for it!

Cj Dude

The only good tandem place I've been to. They don't serve alcoholic drinks which was a bit of a bummer, the food definitely made up for it.

Roger

Saved by the buns. Delicious shroom buns but mediocre spicy ramen with too much (tin) corn, overcooked chashu, brownish salty egg, and meh broth. A bit pricy for the fare.

Joseph Antel

I ordered the tonkatsu ramen and it tasted like mildly-spicy, hot salt water. No detectable pork flavor at all. Very unsavory and unfulfilling. It screamed--why bother eating me? They also don't serve alcohol--not even beer--which, eating ramen without beer. . . what kind of soulless person would do that? I assume the piteous people giving this place 5 stars are either incredibly boring or have never had good ramen.

Kostadin Kushlev PhD

One of the best ramen places in town!

Tye Kuzniczci

Overrated mediocre ramen and disorganized staff. Every other time I’ve stopped in they have forgotten part of my order. Once, they actually forgot my order all together, leaving me sit for 20 mins, before I had to flag someone down to check on its progress, before bringing me my food another 20 mins later. I haven’t been back since.

jeremiah ogunleye

Best place ever

Yusef Lopez

My favorite ramen place in the city. The staff is very welcoming and cultured and I appreciate that. The music is always amazing whether it's hip hop or pop. I left an extra large top yesterday and they split the bill they are so gracious I was like no that's the tip

Jay

Delicious food great service

Ian Trimble

Really tasty fresh Ramen. Very good gyoza.

Joanna Lee

Best ramen place in DC. Everything is absolutely perfect in this place. The ramen is excellent, every ingredient is just so good. The service is awesome too, every staff is is very nice and friendly. Will definitely keep coming back.

P T

Best Ramen IMO. Sometimes it is a bit crowded.

Jennifer Dell

Very flavorfull food. Good service. Nice menu choices

Andrea Walker

I thoroughly enjoyed my bowl of ramen, but the location is kind of small and cramped, not to mention warm and humid, when it wasn't even very hot outside. The service was also a little slow.

Devesh Bhakta

Best vegetarian ramen I've had, the mushroom buns are worth trying as well.

Jess Smith

New favorite ramen in DC

Lauren Radke

I went there with my friends, and being from American University and therefor college students, we were going out on a limb to spend even $20 on dinner. It was really good, and everyone in the friend group was really satisfied! The minus 2 stars comes from the fact that we told the waiter that we needed separate checks. He did NOT put them on separate checks, and we had to use a credit card (which we were lucky someone had a credit card or we would not have been able to pay). As a waitress myself, I know he took the easy way for himself, then told us to split the check ourselves and tell him what to put where. I thought that was pretty unprofessional and overall annoying. When I tried to speak to a manager there, they were too busy. So I don't really blame them for that, it happens. Overall it was really annoying with the check but everything else was great. good first time having ramen

Erica Juxtapose Jones

Delicious ramen! Sitting at the bar enjoying it was a delightful experience. The staff were attentive and polite. Plan on coming back to try the great selection of different ramen.

Chelsea Andrews

I went here yesterday for dinner and enjoyed my meal. I got the vegetarian ramen which wasn’t bad. Not sure if I had the option to add more vegetables but if I could I would have added some broccoli. My friend got the same thing and she enjoyed it. And our other counterpart got the beef and something else and he loved it. Said it was the best ramen he ever had. I also ordered the green tea ice cream and the mango ice cream and this was the highlight of my entire visit! It was so good! This was my first time coming here. We were able to find parking relatively easy but it’s also because it was a cold Tuesday night. Usually I would have to park in the lot. The place is nice and friendly. Service was okay. The prices are definitely reasonable. This is a great place for lunch, a to go order, or if you’re just trying to warm up!

Kristi Sartnurak

Fast, great price-point, and the bulgogi buns and Chosu Ramen were so good. Worth the wait here.

James Littleton

This is the absolute best ramen I've ever had in my life! The wait can be long sometimes, but if you are by yourself its never very long. The wait is totally worth it. I always get the Shoki bowl..... MMMMHHH

Michael Clark

Awesome spot. I had the Sakuramen with egg and it was fantastic. We also got these mushroom appetizers which were next level. Big portion sizes for the price. Sometimes the restaurant can get a little crowded, but people tables/seats turn over quickly.

Alessandra xx

The food was phenomenal but the waiting area is practically non-existent and gets full pretty easily. I wish there was more space to accommodate all the people. The staff is pretty quick though, so it balances out. They are very attentive. Kind of a hidden gem if you aren't from the area.

Eric Padron

We popped in late night after deciding the bar scene next door was too lit for our liking. Anyway, this place is phenomenal. Basement local with fast service and amazing eats. We had to start things off with the pork belly buns. The ramen was insanely good. I got the meat one. This place is a must if/when you get the ramen itch. Smack dab in the middle of admo. Do it.

Nnamdi Obiako

Really good ramen spot. Literally a hole in the wall but that's how you feel now it's good food.

Anna Rumbles

The bulgogi buns were amazing! I'm not great at using chopsticks, so it was a bit of a struggle for me but a great experience!

Michael Hanley

My favorite

Casey Reeves

Phenomenal ramen, best in the city. Huge portions of food. Summer cold ramen dish is awesome but my favorite is Shoki Bowl with a 6/10 on hotness. Pork buns and fried dumplings are great apps too.

G C

Oh the many ramen shops of DC. Now this Chinese-Japanese ramen shop is quite interesting in that its heavy on the Chinese origins of ramen. The ingredients down to the quite straight "wavy noodles", the use of alternative pickling for the bamboo shoots, and the Chinese woodear mushroom left me feeling that I was in the wrong shop. This place would probably be better off putting forward what it is... A Chinese ramen shop that's good enough to be in Japan or China.

Anna O

The restaurant is not immediately visible from the street, but after reading the reviews I found it! The restaurant is in the basement, loud, with a moist climate..... but it's worth that bowl of Ramen and schroom buns! I was apprehensive about some of the reviews, but I can assure you that the broth was just right for the Tonkatsu red. The char siu was so soft and flavorful, I added an egg and in pretty sure it was cooked in tea; yum! We were seated quickly and left satiated. Will recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious ramen. My friend loved the vegetable based Ramen!!

Kris

I loved the atmosphere, decor, and the music. I loved all of the food, except the way their beef was prepared. It wasn't the usual slices that I'm used to, but more of a ground beef. Other than that, the heat scale they described to me was on point with their description (my waiter described a 3 heat as a Sriracha spice) and their noodles were excellently cooked. I'll have to try the pork in my ramen next time and see how I like that.

Korania Braxton-Brown

Rude as hell. Not worth their snobby attitudes!

Jeff Kruse

Service was great and quick. We were seated in just a few minutes. Ramen tasted great!

Jason Zahn

Great noodles and fast service here. Just so you are aware, this place is SMALL - probably less than 40 seats in the whole place, half of which are at a large communal table where you may sit next to/ across from other friendly people (all good by me). Also, on a beautiful early summer evening walking by all the nice open outdoor seating, it was a little hard to force myself down into this basement level restaurant with very little air circulation. However, the staff were friendly, quick service, good prices, and GREAT food. Note they do not serve alcohol.

Zachary Tempone

Best Ramen spot in DC hands down. 10/10 never disappoints

Natasha Pacheco

This place was unbelievable! This was the first time I have had ramen at an actual restaurant and it was a great experience thanks to this place. The service was so good too, and the waiter we had was super friendly! Will definitely come back here when I'm back in D.C. again!

Hailey Kufner

Awesome ramen shop in Adams-Morgan. The Shroom Buns were absolutely delicious. You can't go wrong with any of their dishes, vegetarian or otherwise.

The Dabb Hatter

Great food awesome little spot

Kevin Brenner

Great Ramen bar! Highly recommend the signature dish Sakuramen :)

luis Martinez

This ramen bar is a must, the food was amazing especially the Bulgogi appetizer and the chosun ramen was delicious.

Maria AP

My absolute fav in DC. It's worth the wait. Great service and the ramen are just fantastic!

Nicolas M. Aiello

The ramen is exceptional - I was really impressed. I had the spicy miso at a 7 (they grade level of spiciness you want on a 1-10 scale). I have an affinity for spicy, but I'm glad I stuck with 7 because it delivered. I'll definitely be back!

raidan515

Went there for the 1st time and ordered a Shoki Bowl With extra naruto. It was so delicious and the broth was just perfect. Will definitely be coming back to try the other bowls.

Rory Harper

Easily one of the best ramen in DC. Not to mention great atmosphere and good service. Buns not to be dismissed.

Blake Arrington

Very small place but good ramen. The pork belly is amazing and the broth is very good. The noodles are just ok. If you are in Adam's Morgan and want some ramen definitely go for it but there are better places in DC. They have a scale for spice from 1 to 10, I love spice and a 7 was VERY spicey so be careful.

sammyg51

I love this ramen bar! My favorite place to eat in Adams Morgan.

Avi Abasov

Ramen is just ok and the flavors were not exceptional in any way, but the service was great and the noodles were phenomenal. The price is on the up side and the place is relatively small, that's why the 4 stars.

Dan Sweet

Get ready to wait for this! Long waits, cozy basement seating. I ordered the Tonkotsu red ramen, spicy 6 of 10. Noodles were not stellar, soft boiled egg slightly sweet, pork belly super tasty! Overall a nice spiciness and alright flavors. Not blown away, but I'll be back to try another bowl!

Alex Russell

Great ramen. Can be made as spicy as you want.

Flickr the Nuri

Again, There Are No Ramen Restaurant like Daikaya in DC. Kimchi was good enough in here though and also we didn’t have to wait.

Justin Hopkins

Had a great time at Sakuramen. Ordered... Wait for it... Sakuramen. Loved it. The mushrooms we're possibly some of the best I've ever tasted, the broth was salty, savory, a little bit sweet, and loaded with flavor. Noodles were springy and perfectly cooked. The staff were great, service was fast (ramen, obviously) and the two of us got out of there for less than $50 despite ordering what felt like one if everything. We will definitely be back.

Jose Santiago

The staff greeted me quickly and told me to sit where ever I pleased. I should mention I came in right when they opened at 5:30pm so there was plenty of open seating. I ordered pork chashu buns and the spicy miso ramen. Both where good. During my meal the waiters and waitresses kept my water full (they refilled it maybe 4 times) and kept asking if everything was good and if I needed anything else. It was just enough to show they were paying attention but not hovering over me. It was an overall good experience with above average ramen. Not the best but I have most definitely had worse.

Vicky

Delicious food! Smallish place but worth the wait!

sec

noodle was too soft(too much boiled). tonkotsu red soup was good(nice spicy taste).

Petra Langham

Hands down, the best Ramen I've ever had!!! I wish I lived here so I could come here every time I want ramen! Great service and excellent food! So good!!!!!

Ronan B

Dangerous unisex bathroom. Unreliable lock (the worn out twisty lock). Women be aware, you think it's locked and anyone can open it and enter.

Daniel Rosales

1 of the Top places for ramen and spice

Victoria Navarro

Spicy pork buns are A++++. Spicy miso ramen too!

Mike C

Tasty food.

Kassie Powell

So good. The food is amazing and the service is friendly.

Sovanna Pouv

A quick dinner fix close to my hotel. I would come here again for another delicious bowl.

Chris Gorgolewski

Excellent tonkotsu red. Sakuramen is one of the best vegetarian ramen out there.

Taryn Meeks

Best best best ramen in town. By far.

Keyla Ward

I came to this restaurant because the reviews are great but these place needs improvement. THE MUSIC IS SO LOUD specially downstairs, so I sat down upstairs because the noise was horrible. The waitress are not very organized. The ramen soup was okay but I wouldn’t come back. Sorry I need to be honest.

J Gao

Best ramen I've had to date. I highly recommend the Tonkatsu Red with thick noodles. My vegaterian friends also love the Sakuramen. Expect to wait a while even on Weekdays.

Janelle Banda

Not a fan of the hostess/waitress who said we were not allowed to sit next to each other and took a later party's order before us.

erica hartman

Best ramen I've ever had. Quaint atmosphere. Fast service!

Stephen Sclater

Simply put..Excellent Resteraunt..Aboslutely Loved It!!!!

Max Theriault

Ramen + cheese = good

Jane Balbo

Yummy food, fast, music a bit loud. Got the tonkatsu it was very good! The oshinko/pickles were, too! The steam buns were good not the greatest but I came for ramen!!! Great spot in Adams-Morgan or Morgan-Adams

Sarah Bolt

I got the chosun bowl with no spice (cannot handle even mild salsa sometimes). Was 10/10! Restaurant itself is very small and packed together. I had a great time and the service was decent. You do have to walk downstairs into the restaurant (only like 3 or 4 steps) and they will not seat you without your entire party present. High prices for what I’m used to but normal for the area. They do charge extra for adding spice (they ask you if you want spice from 0-10 and then charge you based on that). If you order a soda, they bring you it in the can which I was just expecting a fountain soda so no refills! (They do bring water to the table frequently though)

JESSICA CHRISTINE

We were the jerks who came an hour before they closed but the service was very fast and friendly. Very good ramen with quite a few options. It has a nice, warm and cozy atmosphere.

Jared D

Small dining spot, good flavors and portions. Could use a little more follow through with service. We ordered drinks that they forgot to deliver, they were apologetic and fixed the bill.

Su Hong

Just not terrible. Very overpriced for the quality of the dishes. I won't visit again.

Emily Hou

Pretty good tasting ramen, but the noodle consistency and texture is lacking a bit. The place is popular so expect a wait! It is a perfect meal for a cold night!

J Fitz

Great ramen and great service. Buns are great too

Corey DeAngelis

One of the best ramen places in DC. They can actually make it really spicy unlike most other places here.

James Andrew

Wonderful flavors from their many offerings. Like an idiot I didn't get any buns. They looked good though. The extra meat option is a really nice value. Will return!!

Sam Rosenberg

It was here that fate dragged me one sorrowful day for what I suspected, based on previous reviews, to be a delectable bowl of warm ramen in a "no frills" atmosphere. Instead, what I found in this fetid crawlspace was a watery stew served by domineering egotists who seemed ready at first chance to funnel the dreaded concoction down my unwilling throat. Frills, despite what you may have read, abounded. Through the thinly veiled guise of cramped conditions and low lighting was a sinister overtone and the steam of sweat wafting over from the people next to me. The hardship I endured, however, evaporated in the presence of some of the most luminescent, profoundly beautiful rocks I have ever seen. Situated in a mid-table crevice, a collection of noir stones formed a garden of opulence. My words seemed filtered through their sheen as they careened across the table. All was made well by the rocks. So, I implore you, go for the rocks. If you must, take one home with you. I myself could not resist. 4 stars. For the rocks.

max woodson

Very quick. The broth on the mild tonkotsu ramen had porky flavor but was not very rich. egg was creamy and nicley cooked. I like a medium noodle these were light but not mushy, chashu was cooked well had the melt effect. This is a great basic ramen shop that stands on its own could be richer but not a complaint.

Emily Gillan

Food is amazing and the service was great! Will be going frequently!

Shira Cross

This place earns a decent 4.5 stars!!! I've been to Daikaya and I'm glad this place is off the beaten path (a little further from the National Mall and downtown) so there wasn't a huge hour plus wait when we got there around 11:45pm on a Saturday! There actually wasn't a wait at all! It's a bit hard to find cause it's tucked away on the bottom of the businesses that are street level. We were seated right away and the server was super friendly. We ordered: *Chashu Buns - OMG!! Do yourself a favor and get these now!!! They were some of the best pork buns I've ever had! Why?! The sweetness of the pork, the saltiness of the picked veggies, and the perfect consistency of the bun! The pickled veggies had the amazing crisp crunch to them which added so much to the overall flavor and texture of the bun! It was delicious and we had to place another order in! 5/5 *Spicy Pork Buns - Because I liked the Chashu Buns so much, I also wanted to taste the spicy ones! This one didn't do it for me compared to the first one - maybe it's the high expectations after eating that first bun but this was fell under par. The spicy pork was a bit too saucy and the bun ended up soaking up all the sauce, which made it soggy and hard to pick up. It ruined the perfect texture and consistency of the bun. The spicy pork also ruined the spicy pickled flavors of the veggies, which ended up blending into the flavors of the meat. This one didn't do it for me 3/5. *Gyoza - these handmade pork dumplings were good, just not as flavorful as dumplings I've had elsewhere. Nothing to rave about here as far as gyozas go, but they were good and I'd order them again. 4/5 *Tonkotsu Red - I debated about ordering this dish cause I hear red miso is saltier than normal miso and I didn't want an overly salty broth. Well.. I was probably mistaken cause that was definitely not the case! The broth was on the bland side and I felt like it needed a bit more salt or substance. It's not my favorite ramen broth cause it didn't taste as developed as other tonkotsu broths I've had, stewed from pork bones. And now that I think of it, it didn't coagulate like normal tonkotsu broth does when it is boiled from the bones for hours! The chashu was what gave this bowl some flavor - their chashu (pork) is amazing. The noodles were also cooked well - it had a bite to it but I think it could have been taken out a little quicker for more of an al dente texture. 4/5 *Chosun Ramen - a Korean inspired ramen with bulgogi. This broth was more rich in flavors than the last one. My cousin loved loved loved this dish - she couldn't stop raving about how good it was after eat bite. I only tried a bit of the broth, and had to agree the broth was better. However, I can't rate everything else. She said the seasoned egg was also fantastic and a little sweet. *Tonkotsu Mild - my aunt said this dish was good. She usually has something to complain about but I didn't hear any complaints from here here.. which means it wasn't overly salty. I can't write about this bowl either cause I didn't get to taste any of it. They also have the normal flavors (green tea, strawberry, vanilla and mango) mochi ice cream for dessert. I wish they offered something more creative, like Daikaya does! Overall, a great experience - good food - fantastic service and most importantly, no wait!

Eidan Ragus

Very good place that I'd recommend. Prices on par for the Washington area, my bowl with egg was $15. Mostly friendly part of town. Friendly and personable staff. The casual vibe and small place makes it very cosy, it would be very reasonable to bring a small group there, as I saw several of there.

Greg

Simple menu. Located Underground with immodest sign out front so easily missable from the street. Prices are okay, pretty standard for ramen places around here. Limited seating, less than 30 for sure. Not the most upscale but not sketchy of places. Staff is nice, presentation was decent, food was good. One complaint is they never refilled our water.

Kristen L Cunningham

Excellent ramen

Noah Swint

Awesome food and great prices!!

Adam Felibrico

This ramen is okay. Definitely not something I'd go out of my way to get or wait more than 15 minutes for.

Leah S

I got the Tonkotsu Mild ramen. It was delicious, and the pork belly just melts in your mouth!

Claire B

Always delicious!

Dipika Mouli

Within seconds of walking in the smells of all the ramen goodness will smack your senses. The food does not disappoint! The vegetarian ramen seems to be miso based, and is delicious, but can be bland for some so I recommend adding on the spice bomb. The entire space is quite intimate and they don't take reservations but it's in such a busy location that you can always wait at a bar nearby. I'll definitely be back.

Chris Taylor

The space here isn't huge, which does make for an intimate meal. Whatever lacking there maybe in space or noise is MORE than made up for by the amazing food. Service is prompt and friendly.

Shaquille Gilbert

Best ramen I’ve had to date and I’ve had some good ramen. The pork was succulent, the soup was spicy, adding the bacon, cheese and corn just took this ramen out of this world

Henry Spencer

Awesome atmosphere, better food. The plentiful add ons they have for your ramen means there's something for anybody and everybody. New favorite ramen bar!

Nikhita Allam

Delicious food in a trendy little ramen restaurant located along Adams Morgans strip. I'll definitely be returning!

Jacob Kuba

Original noodle bar with good food .

A L

8.4.17 - Not a bad Ramen spot. The broth is rich and thick and the noodles have a good texture to them. The pork is also tender and generally tasty. I can't recall what we got, but if you're looking for a quick fix, then this spot will do if it's convenient for you to get to, but I would not go out of my way to go here as I did.

Tom Brennan

I got the spicy miso. The food was disappointing, especially if you're familiar with the cuisine. Not fresh; corn out of a can. The service was unpleasant, put kindly. The ambiance was chaotic for such a small number of diners. The music was way too loud, obnoxious top 40 rap from the 90s. Really wish I could have my time and money back.

Peter Church

Tonkatsu Red spicy#7 was the best ramen I've had in the DC area. Have to return to try the rest of the menu

Alvaro Smith

The ramen was good, but they charge you for an egg on your ramen. Staff will ask if you want an egg...you say yes...they charge your extra. Thought it was included by the way they asked. The ramen quality was good, and it was definitely filling. Instagram: @happyhour_dc

Dan Breeden

My favorite Ramen place in DC so far and didn't take hours to get in compared to other places!

Adhat Campos

They don’t sell beer in case you wanted to have your meal with one.

I love this place!!! I moved and don't get to eat here like before. I am so mad that last time I was in D.C. I didn't get to eat here again. Their Ramen is delicious! The atmosphere is great and it's clean and the staff are nice, engaging, and entertaining. Basically, all of the Ramen on the menu is as good as it sounds. Definitely is a must go place in the D.C. if you're a foodie.

Great ramen experience. Named Tonkotsu red. Medium spicy.

The shroom buns are really good and flavorful. The ramen is bland and boring...I read on other reviews that you can pay for extra spice, which is so silly. Don't get sucked in by the hole-in-the-wall aesthetic-- there are much better ramen places in DC!

Great Ramen, enjoyed the Shoki and spicy pork buns

To me it seemed to be very salty. It had a nice flavor but maybe I should have tried another one. Alot of others swear by it but for me it was just ok. A seventeen dollar bowl of soup is a bit much

Really great ramen! Some people like Toki Underground, but Sakuramen is easily superior. The restaurant itself is about the size of a postage stamp (so be prepared to get friendly with the people next to you) but the flavors are big. You can also get the ramen delivered via app, but it loses something in transport.

The food was average I ordered tonkotsu red number 8 hot. The small portion no egg noodles seemed under cooked for 15$ I have paid $11 before with way more. The pork belly was good but the ramen seemed a little cold. Overall I don't think it's with the pricing. Definitely not the best ramen ever.

I came here with my boyfriend and we really loved it. We both got tonkotsu ramen but mine was the red version spicy level 5. I eat spicy food regularly, but I was really suffering even at level 5, so I would beware. It didn't matter because everything was delicious. We also got Chashu buns which you could easily eat 100 of. Best ramen place I have been to in the DMV. Definitely coming back.
