This Restaurant is classified in the category of Cocktail bar.
The food quality and flavour was poor. Drinks are like water. Complete wastage of time & money...
That Amir guy couldn’t have said it any better. The waitress here is the WORST.
Love the place.. please don't pee on the lemons...!!
Best old fashioned around.
Authentic cocktails. Outstanding music. Crafty atmosphere. Must have to visit.
Staff was very cool. Atmosphere was excellent and customers were really nice. Very clean with a neighborhood bar vibe.
Excellent cocktails. I love the tiny goldfish crackers they have at the bar instead of pretzels. I have been coming to this bar for almost 8 years and everytime I have a great experience.
Be warned: The topic of conversation will inevitably shift to the men's urinals at some point since someone painstakingly arranges sliced citrus in them. But this place is totally worth visiting for other reasons (too?): cocktails, service and decor make this a great place to catch up with friends. Gets busy later so get in early if you want the comfy couches at the front.
Very disappointed, It was clear they did not care to lose us as customers over a miscommunication with a few bottles of water.
Great place to end the night. Darker and relaxed describe is well.
Totally disgusted with this bar, do not visit even if its the only place open. I have no trust in their service at all.Service was inattentive even sitting at the bar .
Excellent whiskey selections!
great vibe here, excellent place for an old fashioned
Best old fashioned's ever
The 'miracle bar' experience is top notch! Seating capacity only (50 people) from 4-7pm, then they bump it to 100 people capacity after 7pm (according to the very polite bouncer).
Disappointed The food quality is very bad had order some drinks it was so terrible couldn't drink more than a sip.
My go to spot for a classic cocktail. Good atmosphere and generally a good crowd. Try the old-fashioned!
Really great honest staff. We tried all the Rob Roys. All were great, daily was awesome. Great drink mixing. Happy hour was awesome. Faux Pho Cup Noodles changed my life.
One of the Best craft cocktail bars in Seattle. The place is full of character, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Well worth a visit.
Great atmosphere. And great drinks.
A longtime favorite in Belltown for a quality selection of cocktails in a comfortable setting. I enjoy the Up To Date cocktail (Rob Roy’s old fashioned) from the classics menu, but my favorite is their original Saffron Sandalwood Sour.
12/22- My boyfriend and I took my parents here who were in town for the holiday. I’d been dying to go here for the holiday drinks and decorations, and was super excited to be there despite the very crowded atmosphere. Our initial waiter was nice, but when we sat down on the couch he told us another woman would be waiting on us. I get that it was busy, but she was incredibly rude to us. We weren’t loud, were very polite, and she was snappy and short with us when we had questions, and blatantly ignored us several times. I don’t know who she was, but she made me never want to go back and really made sour what we hoped would be a fun evening out. I bought two rounds of drinks for our group of 4, which was decently expensive, and the least the waitress could’ve done was be professional and pleasant. I wish I’d gotten her name because the manager should really consider talking to her. I used to wait tables and bartend and I get having a bad night, but it’s no excuse to be a blatant jerk to patrons, especially nice ones.
Drinks are great, their last call is a little harsh. Hope you're not offended by citrus slices in the men's urinals...
The drinks here are always good, but the service tends to be on the slow side, and I"m not sure the drinks, while good, are worth the exorbitant prices. I will say their Christmas pop-up is very fun, and it's always fantastic getting free gold fish during Happy Hour. Note that their food offerings are very minimal.
Bad food quality, wastage of money, we can get better food in the other restaurants. Service was also not good.
Cocktails on point here. Seasonal changes with the menu and any drink you get will be absolute yum.
This bar is one of the reasons I moved to Seattle
Really good drinks! I love the whole atmosphere of this place. It's super low key; a hidden gem in the hustle that is Belltown. Expand your horizons and try one of their signature drinks. Also, go during happy hour for free goldfish! (not real, the cheesy yummy ones).
Standard trendy cocktail bar. Hip hop music with 20's era decor when we went. Drinks were good and priced standard for a cocktail lounge. Service was 8/10. We will probably go back whenever we're around and just looking for a place to mellow out.
The best old fashions in town. I love the HH here. The cup-o-noodle brings me back to college.
WORST bar ever. awful service. I don't even understand how its possible to not pour a shot correctly
Dark, and with a great chilled atmosphere, I really liked this place. The barman was friendly and ran the whole place himself...it was a Sunday night, so not to busy. Great cocktails and liquor selection. Probably a great place for a first date.
Awesome place for craft cocktails. Solid old fashioned and they can personalize the drink for you. Its an intimate place - good for a small group to sit relax and enjoy a good drink.
I dont like this place. Service is bad. Spent lot of money.
Great cocktails, perfect atmosphere for some drinks. I don't write reviews so not sure what else to write, but if you like good drinks/good time, I recommend stopping in here.
Fun vibe with a great happy hour. You can get a cup of noodles just like back in college for free with your drink!
This is definitely the place to start a night out in Belltown. Crafty, unique drinks that pack a ton of flavor. While not upscale by any East Coast standard, its certainly one of the fanciest downtown Seattle has to offer. We especially love coming here for Christmas. They embrace "Kitchy" with more fun and tacky childish love of the holidays than anyplace else for Christmas. Even the most Grinchy of all (with whom I'd count myself among) can find something to love and return to each December at Rob Roy.
A little dive-ish...but man, what delicious drinks!
I've always had a good time here, it tends to (on weekdays at least) be kind of chill, with nice seats and bartenders who make a good drink. Plus I can't turn down a free cup of noodle with my happy hour drink.
The bartender was extremely rude and not helpful at all. I have always found this place to be dark. They have great prices and have been around for a long time, but the servers need some help. I will not be back until they fix the staff.
The drinks were pretty good. The room was quite stylish. The biggest disappointment is the bar tender who I observed being blatantly rude to customers trying to engage with him. He completely ignore my partner and I but the host was picking up his slack. I'm not coming back. There are way more inviting places to go for that price point.
Classic and new takes on cocktails that will keep you completely coming back for more. Personally, I could have stayed even longer, but for that damnable knowledge of needing to be up for an early meeting. This place has the best cocktails and the best mixologist I have yet to have found in Seattle. He was actually an incredible asset in regards to making my night utterly perfect! Incredible cocktail options and the skills you need to create magic all on the bartenders own make all the difference in having an amazing time?!
Love this dark little gem. Great craft cocktails. Cool staff. They have couches and high tables. Very cozy and sexy. HIGHLY recommend.
Great cocktails! Best in Seattle. Order the Field of Dreams.
Basic Seattle cocktail bar. Drinks are great.. they're known for their old fashioned and they do an absinthe drip so it's cool to take out of towners here just to enjoy the drinks and atmosphere. I haven't had a bad drink here, but service can be a little slow .. even when it's not too busy. But that's all part of the experience! Happy hour menu has a mix of cocktails and a few (like two) snacks. Free goldfish at HH though it can get pretty packed here after 5 so try to come early if you want a seat at the bar or one of the few couches. Small outdoor patio at front as well.
Always amazing atmosphere with even better beverages.
Very negative vibe here, very old fashioned decor.
Wow! I've been worried about visiting this place because I thought it would be too expensive or too packed with tourist. My visit was during winter so.. I avoided some tourists. And the price was super reasonable. The food here was delicious. The service was good and the drinks are nice too. It's worth a visit. But try to call ahead to get a reservation. This place is busy.
Always a favorite. Craft drinks by the best bartenders.
Bartender was very knowledgeable about cocktails the atmosphere was chill and laid back I had a good time.
Great experience, awesome bar. Had an Old Soul a Bourbon drink concocted by the very bartender himself! Was very good. Recommend to everyone.
Awesome little spot with cool signature cocktails. Friendly service. Try the thing with gin and blueberries, they'll know what you mean
Waiter's behaviour was worst, they ignored our order for drinks and served after much time.
Great spot to start the night. The bartenders have great attitudes and the drinks are exemplary.
Swanky old school whiskey and cocktail bar. Looks like something out of a 60s Vegas casino. Knowledgeable bar staff and great selection of spirits. Spotted several old or rare bottles not listed.
Very chill vibe, drinks are on point
Bartender was terrible, more interested in looking at her phone at the end of the bar. Short-changed me on our drinks.
During the holiday season, check out the pop up Christmas bar they have going on at the Rob Roy bar. The decor is incredibly Christmas kitschy (some might say 1970s nostalgic?) along with a specialized drink menu to boost your holiday cheer. Incredible employees who are attentive and funny and made the experience fun.
Interesting cocktails and always great service
Good cocktails! First time there outside of the holiday menu, glad we stopped in. There was a funky smell when we were sitting at the bar, need to address that.
Great cocktail bar. Had a good time. Was in town alone and nobody gave me any trouble about taking up bar space for the night. Met some friendly people. Good staff.
Most knowledgeable and skilled bar team in Seattle in my opinion. Traditional and with no pretentiousness. If you care about what you drink, these guys are great
Poor service. Was understaffed. I wanted a beer, had to wait for 10 complicated cocktails to be made before my 30 second beer. Probably not bad if you want fancy overpriced cocktails. Hand carving ice seemed unnecessary. Good ambiance though. I would have hated it higher if I hadn't had to wait 7 minutes for each of my new beers.
Great low key atmosphere. Elegant cocktails.
We went during their advent calendar season- and it was PACKED. I will say it's very festive and fun but a little too chaotic with people perched on sofa backs and crammed in any open space. I will say the cocktail I got was MIND BLOWINGLY GOOD, but at 16 dollars + tip it should be? If you want good fancy drinks and dont mind dropping the money you will love it here. Keep in mind there really isnt anything to eat.
Loved the old school bar scene here.
The Old Soul is my go to nightcap and it NEVER disappoints. If I can only have one let it be the Old Soul.
Cute during the holiday. My drink was okay, but my husband's was way too strong (can't remember what we ordered). I'll definitely go back next year during Christmas time, but would not go here during the rest of the year.
Very poor service, we had asked for a seating which was vacant they said it was reserved for someone else. Then they said we may leave if we wanted to. The food quality was very bad. Had to leave the complete order.
Very clean nice old building
The drinks were good, but the food menu had very few items. I ordered the meatballs and what they served tasted like a microwaved TV dinner for a modest $14. The bartenders were attentive and friendly, but the food really ruined the experience for me.
Have a good time, average drinks, but the bartender was VERY RUDE. Spent a lot of money but will never come again because of him.
This place makes you feel like you're home. Free thin home made chips along with variety of salsa come with your drink! The food is delicious!! I ordered carne asada and my friend had a dish with shrimp. Both were great. Def going back there, there's more to try.
Too crowded, bad service. The bouncers are extremely aggressive. Not a fun place to go. This place shouldn't be in business.
Great quality over many years. I was shocked that one bartender ran the entire place on a Sunday evening. He did s great job!
Great place for a drink in Belltown. The Bartenders there know all about anything alcohol
Always a joy.
My friend didn't welcomed just because he was an asian, that was very rude and Intolerable.
Happened upon here while at a conference. Great cocktails and ambiance, highly recommend taking the short walk from some of the downtown hotels. Great restaurants around it, go here before and/or after dinner!
A bit on the loud side despite its small size, so better for groups of 2-3 because you won't hear your friends from across the table in the lounge area when in a group of 10. Drinks are great, lots of options. Food is the kind you get from 7-11 (goldfish, jerky from a bag, cup noodles) which is great at a bar but only if you walk in knowing that.
Probably the worst place to stop for a drink , if you want friendly bar staff, didn't venture to the toilet because of the state of the place, i cant image what they would have look like.
My all-time favourite bar. If you want an adult, classy, laid back joint this should be your go to. Amazingly well crafted drinks. The staff keeps me coming back for more. Seriously, ever time I venture to Seattle this is a must stop. I look forward to it!
This bar is absolutely amazing! Go see Cuyler. Super nice guy who makes the best drinks!! Love this place.
Great place with Christmas decorations to the max. Great drinks too
This place has great cocktails and atmosphere. You should try a Saffron Sandalwood Sour.
Hi. I'm standing outside. Any reason you're closed? And that every website online said you were open? Tried every door like an angry ex girlfriend. Nada. So happy I spent $25 on Uber to come check out your spot...
Rob Roy is a 21 and older establishment, non-smoking, mid century modern beautiful decor and ambiance. The bartenders are super friendly and know their way arounds spirits and cocktails.
This place was, by far, the worst bar I've been to... and I've been to many places around the valley. The service was... uh, there was no service. We left twenty minutes after we arrived as none of the incompetent employees even bothered to acknowledge us. Instead they were too busy lounging around and refilling cups with straws. Never again will I go. And to be clear, there were, at most, no more than twenty people there at that time. Stay away!!! This place is certainly not worth the time it takes to find a parking spot in their small lot.
Great spot for wonderfully hand crafted cocktails made with tender loving care. Get your eggs white goodness on! Try and get there before the after 8pm crazy bar traffic starts, because you will have this wonderful high class cocktail lounge to hangout and chat with your friends in. It is absolutely delightful. Bartenders and staff are always just on it, and super friendly and knowledgeable. I think they recently limited their menu to be a seasonal rotation, so check back often.
Atmosphere - dark and luxurious Drinks - expertly mixed and garnished Staff - friendly and down-to-earth A really spectacular place to enjoy some cocktails in Belltown!
Amazing cocktails! Gorgeous interior and for you gin nerds, great Belgian jenever. Also, best Vieux Carré I've had to date.
The stone back drop of the bar, low lighting, and easy listening music set the tone for a cozy cave-like experience. The menu includes many types of cocktails as well as food. The staff is attentive and quick to serve even on a busy night. They’re brisk, but generally have a crowd to attend to. The couches towards the front of the bar are comfortable and provide a nice spot to talk with your friends.
Good
One of the most consistently great cocktail bars in Seattle.
Cozy place with tasty coctails!
Came for the Christmas pop up bar on Christmas Eve and it is amazing!!!!! Absolutely everything is festive. The glasses, the decor and the patrons. Such a fun time!
Interesting cocktails made with care. The Fresh Prince is a nice off-menu beer cocktail. I also enjoyed the Old Soul, though I would have preferred a larger piece of ice. The citrus fruit in the urinals was creative, but made me uncomfortable.
I’ll take gold fish snacks and old records being played any day of the week. Great decor.
This is a quality old school cocktail bar. It's a small, intimate place (and dark) but really cool, and it has a great variety on the cocktail menu. Bartenders are engaging and fun, as well.
i gotta say...mixing feelings about this place. Half the time I was there I had a great time and the other half not so much. I urge people to go early to experience the better half..
The best cocktail bar in Belltown (I don't care what anyone else says!) It's dark, cozy and masculine -- ie perfect for a date. The cocktails are inventive, and the bartenders will be tickled if you ask them to create something off menu. Don't come hungry since there is no food menu, but there are goldfish.
Great place for a date night!
Cozy atmosphere
Bad cocktails. There was a very disgusting smell when we were sitting at the bar, unable to sit at the place.
Really great bar with an awesome staff.
I never want to eat anything like that again. It must have been bad if even my 9 year old said it was disgusting .
A perfect 60s den vibe, but with exceptional bartenders who craft very tasty things. Great spot for a stylish drink after work with someone you actually want to have a conversation with.
Was super excited to go here for Miracle on 2nd because all of the hype I heard. The service was good and the drinks were interesting but it really didn't live up to all of the hype. Still going to give it 5 stars though because they did put in a lot of effort.
We went on a Thursday evening after dinner, super low key until about 10pm. Fantastic drinks, and friendly service. Ask your server for suggestions and be adventurous!
Great ambience and music (Vince Staples, Danny Brown, etc.)
We Visited Rob Roy for happy hour around 6pm on the day after Christmas. The sign outside stated “Happy Hour 7 days a week.” We were met by a bartender and a waitress, who were serving 4-5 customers at most. The waitress looked displeased to be working in the first place, and her displeasure was made even more evident by our asking for drinks (how preposterous!). We also politely asked about the happy hour (based on the sign) and were told “it’s not happening.” When we asked why, the response was “I don’t make the rules , I just enforce them.” I don’t understand why it’s acceptable to be rude to customers in this establishment, especially if we were willing to pay upwards of 20 dollars a drink. I’ve heard many good things about this place, but can not endorse such abysmal customer service.
Not my preference for cocktails
The place is located amongst many other bars on that street. Feels really nice and cozy inside. Great selection of cocktails and spirits. Service was good too, even though it was just one bartender for the whole bar. Definitely recommend.
First bartender was amazing. Had drink suggestions and ingredients. Second was defensive and rude.
An absolute must go in December when they have their pop up Miracle bar. All holiday themed drinks and decor, definitely will put you in the Christmas spirit. The Holiday Old Fashioned was my personal favorite, though the daily specials are great as well. Enjoy!
Experienced racism first hand by their entrance security ,This place should feel ashamed I would hate for anyone else's to experience what we gone thru that night No one should never ever feel outcasted it's a horrible feeling.
Some of the best drinks in Seattle, served by knowledgeable, friendly staff in a cool, retro (think 1970s living room) vibe. The kind of place where the bartender will pour you a sip of that liqueur you've never heard of. Where you can say "make me something with [ingredient X]" and not be disappointed. A must stop for craft cocktail nerds.
One of my favorite places to get a good cocktail. I love every time I am here and this the place where after my engagement in 2017, I surprised my now wife with her close friends to help us celebrate. So this lovely place will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Pathetic service. Even a bottle beer will take 30 mins to arrive at your table. No variety of food.
A classy place for cocktails!
This place is hit or miss for me. They make a good cocktail (I've mostly had whiskey based drinks here) but the overall vibe sometimes feels a bit off. They're definitely going for an upscale lounge feel, but it sometimes feels overdone. That being said, I've been back a few times and every time the drinks are quite good and service is solid, if a bit aloof.
I was denied entrance because my friend and I were wearing Santa hats and Christmas sweaters. Neither of us were inebriated and we were both acting appropriately. I understand protecting your business from santacon but we were both headed to an ugly Xmas party and wanted a drink first. I do not understand why they wouldn’t let us get a drink. I’ve been here many times and the drinks are great, but I’m greatly disappointed.
Friendly and knowledgeable bar staff. Great drinks. I sat at the bar and drink ordering was more a discussion that was punctuated with delicious drinks rather then a standard read the menu thing. Probably not an option on a busy night so make time during the week!
Very Bad Services. The bouncer was completely rude to my group of friends. i don't want to go Again
Amazing quality cocktails in a very chill ambiance.
We loved this place!!! Especially how wonderfully decorated it was for the holidays! The drinks were a bit pricey but very festive. Would come back again!
Went recently. The quality and flavour is poor. They made the wrong order then tried to pull it off.
Fantastic drinks and service! Cuyler is a gentleman and champion among tenders of bar.
Interesting drinks, especially the Sandalwood cocktail!
Came in, sat down for 10 mins and no one approached us. Bartender was too busy laughing behind the counter.
Holiday Decorations are on point
Very swanky yet urban ...cocktail selection is awesome
Worst place for party. Drinks were average but too expensive. No crowd was there.
A nice mix between dive and hipster with a decent tequila menu. The red wines could be improved upon and the citrus in the urinals does nothing to mitigate the smell.
One of the worst places to get the cocktail.Very disappointed with quality and taste.
Love, love, love this place! The drinks are amazingly crafted, the ambiance was just what we were looking for, and we felt very safe here (as new city folk we were nervous being out late for the first time) We will be back Rob Roy!! Thanks for a great experience!
Dark and moody cocktail bar, great location and friendly service. Drinks menu is varied and cocktails well crafted.
A jumbled mish-mash of flourshes attempting to be both upscale and chic. You'll sit on leather furniture while eating Goldfish out of wooden bowls. The service left much to be desired, the beer selection was mediocre, and the cocktails were average. It's another place on the list of places. Go here if the other places are full.
Went for the pop up Christmas bar, which was great.
Pathetic experience this place has definitely aged out.... The staff here is so rude... Not a good place...
I like whiskey, and they have a lot of whiskey. Then, after a few glasses; the graffiti-covered bathroom walls become really cool as well. I like this place. Cool, laid-back atmosphere, good drink selection, and nice staff.
Amazing drinks! The bartender here, made me a drink with Gin, when asked to make something she likes. It was a blueberry drink and I normally hated Gin. I ordered more than one, let's say that.
Visited for their Christmas cocktails. The drinks were fantastic! We loved their spins on the classics and ended up getting a few. It was very crowded when we were there, but everyone was very nice and with time we managed to get a bar seat. If you're going with a large group make sure to go early or be ready to stand (this may not be the case for other days off the year). The atmosphere was energetic, with cute Christmas decorations making the place look great. My only complaint was that the cocktails were a bit expensive for my taste, but overall the experience was still worth the cost.
I love that they have an outdoor spot!
Service was not attentive, bar tender was very rude. Waiter did not pay any attention to us.
Service was terrible and the waitress that helped me was extremely rude. The line to get in was ridiculous and several of the machines didn't work. I definitely will not be returning and I urge everyone to consider other options in the area.
Rob roy....stopped in here on a whim and left a fan. P ln Ave has great atmosphere. Nice lounge chairs and sofas. Easy to get a drink, and the drinks are tasty! It's a great meeting place to have a conversation over a drink without all th annoying drama you find at some of the other area establishments..I think chill is a good way to put it. Always enjoy stopping in, give it a try!
Ask for a Huntsman. No longer on the menu but such a unique drink.
Great cocktails with a skilled and personable bartender. I went earlier in the evening on a Sunday, so there were just a few people at the bar, but that was perfect for me. Dark furnishings and lighting give it a relaxing lounge feel without being cavelike. I'd like to come back and check it out when it's a little busier.
Great quality of cocktails!
The happy hour is fun here! Free goldfish or $5 cup o noodles.
Stylish interior design and cool vibe. Delicious craft cocktails: my favorite was the Gunpowder Punch.
I'm new to drinking and the bartender was very accommodating in helping me find something I liked that I could order at any other bar. I felt at ease admitting how little I knew and he was very willing to ask me questions about what flavors I enjoy despite how picky I am. When he finally decided on something for me to try he said that he wanted me to be honest and if i didn't like it, there was no pressure and I could fall back on the one drink I had found that I liked. Would definitely come back here. Chill bartender, calm atmosphere, and beautiful decor.
Very bad experience, drinks that have either been watered down or mixed with cheaper liquor.
Fun Christmas decor
The red wines should be improved upon and the citrus in the urinals does nothing to mitigate the smell.
They make custom cocktails if you ask, grey service older crowd so it's not crazy
