This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Mexican restaurant.
Amazing food. And the service was outstanding! Kudos to all of the staff.
Probably the greatest salsas in the region. Get the salsa sampler......nom
Wonderful. Best place to celebrate our 6 month anniversary.
Good place for Mexican food, excellent variety of drinks
Depends what time of the day you go on how busy it is. Otherwise, good.
Lovely place for some wonderful Mexican food. Good for a group or a nice couple date. Loved the spicy prawns!
So good! Excellent staff and yummy food
Fantastic drinks & food. Enjoy it for lunch but have been for dinner too. Highly recommend chicken enchiladas. Love the chips & salsa too
The Purist Margarita was fantastic! The pork belly tacos were fantastic as well; nice and crispy with a strong heat from the fresh habaneros on top. I thought the queso dip was too spicy for most. The shrimp ceviche was lacking in flavor and shrimp but had an adundance of radish. Overall I thought the food was overpriced or underportioned. $17 for 3 small tacos is a bit much.
Modern American Mexican spot for non-authentic tacos and margs. Certainly won't be impressing anyone with your taste in Mexican food by taking them here, but the layout and location more than make up for it. Try to sit in the sun room to the right if possible.
Awesome vibes, cool decor, and the staff was super nice!
Omg beat Mexican food I have found so far in Seattle
Love Poquitos! Drinks are good and the food delicious. I lole the big portions- great for sharing!
Great food and drinks
Unique, delicious and reasonably priced. The location is great. The Margs are good too. It's a great spot to pregame for a night out I'm the cap hill area
Open late, great food and drink!!!
Consistently out of everything, usuals hard to get a table in spite of numerous other options. Ilove grasshoppers, but they have a major supply problem and are going to take them off the menu soon. We did have a great server who is one of the managers on my last visit. Overall I'm fairly positive, but not planning to go again.
Happy hour out in the atrium is where you need to be! Good quality margaritas and the nachos keep me coming back.
I was seated in the back with the mist fans and first off have to say that those mist fans are amazing! They're incredibly effective and tuned to the point where they don't make anything wet. It's as close to dry water as it gets. The food was good and the servers were very responsive. I felt that they should have gone heavier with spices because the food was slightly on the bland side. It was spiced, just not spiced enough. Overall it was a great experience and I'd definitely go back again.
It does the trick for margaritas and Mexican, but the price for the flavor isn’t a “5”. The burritos at a trick are more bang for your buck, bs $16 for (3) tacos - HOWEVER the location can’t be beat and the convenience.
Took the family to eat here and everyone gave the food 5 Stars! The salsas were perfect and service was quick - returning soon!
Good upscale Mexican place. I had a group of 4 and tried some other places in the area that had long lines. We were sat almost immediately on a Saturday night when other places had long waits.
MY FAV PALIO FRIENDLY PLACE TO eat in Seattle! Darn good house brewed ginger beer as well
Great twist on some Mexican fare! Nachos were great & love the salsa trio. Ceviche was different than expected, good, but too many sliced onion......
Grilled corn was out of the world We got sweet potato flautas for main course, which was great too. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone craving good Mexican place with good vibes.
Good sorta Mexican food!!!
The food was quite bad. The guacamole was not fresh and overpriced and tasted strongly of black pepper. The tacos and hash were worse. Not really Mexican food. The service was pretty good though. The waiters were nice and attentive. The owner is not Mexican but just another white guy "inspired" by Mexico. I would recommend going to a Mexican restaurant actually owned by Mexicans like Chávez.
Yummy margarita! Good food and not too expensive.
Came here because it was the only place with the orange bowl on. Ordered a beer and some tacos. My team lost but the bartenders and servers were kind and courteous and I'll definitely come back to try out more of the menu. I got the taco plate which came with 3 different kinds of tacos all of which were amazing. The plating was exceptional. All in all great experience
Good drinks, good food good staff. What more do you want?
Food here is great. Would make for a good date spot, because it’s comfortable, but a little nicer. Food was good, but expensive. Full bar. Waiter was the nicest person ever.
Great food! Great drinks! Great service!
Great place for some delicious casual eats and a couple of drinks with friends. Plenty of seating and a friendly staff.
Great food and friendly helpful service. Good atmosphere. I bet this place is packed quite often. My brothers and I found it looking for a quick beer and snack food during his flight layover. I'm taking my wife there soon for lunch.
Tasty food, unique. Great service.
The best times come with the best Mexican food and amazing drinks !
Good environment, quick and good service, a bit pricey for the food served
We went for happy hour in the patio. Great tacos. The tostada was one of the best I ever had. Great atmosphere and staff.
I'm undecided. There's good, there's bad, there's no more chapulines
Best Mexican food ever, great server, provided wonderful service
Maybe a little busy for my taste, but the food and drinks that came were both good. $11-12 for a margarita seems like a premium for the amount you get, but you'd be hard-pressed to find anything cheaper on the Hill. Great nachos, again maybe a tad small for the price, but extremely well done.
Had a birthday dinner here tonight with friends. Things that shouldn't have been as spicy were very spicy. I ordered the nachos and it was incredibly spicy. It was a huge portion stuffed into a small bowl. With barely any chips. The chips that were there were very soggy. I had to use a fork and barely ate any. I honestly was very disappointed for how much I paid for it. And the small amount of meat that I paid extra for. I probably won't be back. Was definitely unimpressed. I think the only good thing I actually enjoyed was the waiter. He was fantastic
Great patio bar with delicious cocktails & food. Their happy hour specials are legit
Good food comfortable. Nice bartender. You should go with my best friend. It makes it even better.
Disclaimer: I live in the desert Southwest. That said, I was pleasantly surprised that the red chile was actually New Mexico red chile-amazing. The server was very attentive and pleasantly polite and the tequila was okay. The guacamole was surprisingly perfect. This really is more of a niche spot than anything, but the atmosphere was lovely and the food was pretty good.
Don’t let the beautiful decor fool you. Although the setting is authentically Mexican, the food is not! Overpriced and bland dishes, from the tacos to the enchiladas. Much better options nearby like Cactus.
The food is good. Some dishes can be hit or miss but most things are pretty yummy. I’ve never been blown away by a dish here but I’ve never been super disappointed either. Poquitos is good for brunch because they have a lot of space and can usually seat you when places like Oddfellows are packed. You can read into that what you will re: food quality, but if you are hungry NOW or have a larger group, it’s a good bet. The Bloody Mary is not that great but the scratch margarita is.
Decent food (not the best Mexican food I've ever had, although I lived in SoCal). Great drinks and bartenders. Awesome patio and happy hour!
Always enjoyed the food here. Prices are good. Bit if warning though - 3 of my friends got food poisoning going here. Normally one person I can write off, but 3 people in the same week is a lot.
Food and service were excellent. Great happy hour menu.
What a great experience in a very appealing atmosphere. The food is on point, and you will definitely be leaving there with leftovers. I look forward to coming back here in the future if I’m ever in the area, but for now I still have another full dinner I can enjoy at the house
Amazing location and nice place, but if you order wings you won't know if you ordered WINGS OR WINGS SOUP (TOO MUCH SAUCE and the server didn't explain that).
White owners catering to white people pretending this is good mexican food and charging way too much for the quality. No thank you.
Wonderful Mexican joint in Capitol Hill. Food is excellent. The street corn is to die for, and the tacos are well filled and reasonably priced. Skip the grasshoppers - they were really acidic and a bit soggy - really neat item to have on the menu though. Plus they have authentic Mexican Coca-Cola, which is always a treat. Staff is friendly and attentive. Atmosphere is comfortable and cozy. Two dining rooms and a large central bar make up the restaurant.
Great food and drinks. Happy hour is one of the best in the city
Super good food and great margaritas. Really cool patio area, got a little cold with the water misters in the evening but overall great time. Corn appetizer was awesome!
This place is underrated. The food has always been great and the staff friendly/attentive when I’m here. I’ve often heard people complain about the lack of options for Mexican food in the city, but this one is solid.
Small for how popular they are. Very busy no matter when you go there. Seriously. But it's memorable when you get a seat. It's one of those places that is like any other bar but it's the loudness and unique groups in there that make time pass by. You can't help but make a friend next to you! The food is to die for and savings are found at their happy hour!
Cute place! Mimosas were great. Appetizer was delicious.
Food was incredible the guac with bacon and chicharrón was specially good. Had the steak tacos and they didn't disappoint. Not five stars because our waitress seemed annoyed when serving us. On the positive side the other waiter was really nice.
Really really good food. We didn't have to wait very long for dinner either which was a plus!
Great service, delicious food.
Poquiots margarita was perfect for me. Not very strong, on the sweeter side. I took the 3 taco plate, but the annoying part was the tacos were fixed and no substitutions. It was steak, pork and chicken. Steak one was okay, nothing great. The chicken and pork were so much better. I wish I could have gotten a baja fish taco along with the trio plate. All in all, good food, but nothing outstanding.
I wish I could give this place a better rating, as the food was great. But...the margaritas were overpriced and weak, and worse - the service was terrible. Unfriendly and very inattentive.
Love this place! Its become a go to spot. Great staff and food.
Disrespectful bouncer, definitely not professional.
Great service. Wonderfull mexican food. Not texmex. Had the enchiladas suiza, and the quesadilla, incredible.
Decent food. Friendly and helpful waiter.
Great drinks, awesome service, incredible food.
This establishment employees an unstable bouncer who randomly attacks people passing by. Dangerous and nonprofessional!
Average Mexican food. Crazy after 8pm
Carne Asada with a Northwest twist. If you're looking for food that tastes like abuelita made it try another spot, but overall this was good.
Authentic and absolutely delicious!!
Great food!! Bartenders are friendly, atmosphere is fantastic
This place has excellent margaritas. Drink a margarita or 3 and feel bliss.
Their chips and guacamole are awesome! The chips alone you can keep eating all by themselves.
Love this place. Food is about a 4 out of 5. Drinks are a 4 out of 5. The atmosphere is awesome though especially on a weekend evening.
They've created an awesome environment, both in the main restaurant and in the side bar/dining room. The food is great and the drinks are solid.
solidly above average. somewhat unique menu but inconsistent taste wise, seems they do the simple things great and they're more ambitious dishes lack the flavor you'd expect. worth a try
Warm, rustic venue with great food and drinks. Gets very busy around dinner and on weekend nights, so I would recommend calling ahead
This place is a nice go to lunch spot. The staff is friendly and prompt. It's not crowded during the week so you'll have your pick of a good seating location. The bar area is comfortable. I like that the stools have backs. The food is fresh and tasty. I don't like the new sauce on the wings but that's a personal preference. The dry rub that they were using in the past was great. I always order a side of avocado and it always comes out perfectly ripe. It's nice place to meet up with someone for lunch because it's quiet enough to have a conversation. The bar looks fully stocked. It would be a cool place to try out on a weekend night.
When trying to orchestrate a friend group hang out, Poquitos was usually the first choice. Ample seating, drinks and easy shareable plates. Once some squash quesadillas did steal my heart here. When my friends reach to snap that obligatory group picture, the background is pretty and cozily lit. A small suggestion though: take advantage of those experimental margaritas. Recently, there may have been a drop in food quality and a stiff smoky drink helps to keep grinning for the camera.
Great service. Food was great. But the amount they give is super skimpy. 2 beef tacos for $7? I need three, plz.
Great food. Great drinks.
Great spot amazing looking restaurant and bar great location yet the food was really bad. $15 taco plate of 3 tacos that tasted burned?!?!? Come on it’s tacos! Update: So I ate one taco that I forced my self to finish then ordered another rice an beans because that was the fastest thing they took my 2left over tacos and brought me the beans and rice I requested coz it tasted really good yet I sat down waiting for a bartender or a server to come around and ask if I needed a utensil to eat I sat down for 12 minutes till the bartender came around and I asked him for some forks to eat my rice and beans coz I couldn’t eat the el pastor tacos cos it was wack. Sorry guys this is an honest opinion no hate it’s my first time here and I would not do it again! The beans and rise is delicious!
Respect for the Salsa and queso’s not bad for Mexican in the PNW
Solid spot for really good drinks and food. Staff is attentive and makes you feel welcome.
Amazing food! We love to eat here when we're in Seattle!
Too much sauce used. Overall balanced flavors.
I loved the atmosphere of this restaurant. I ordered the enchiladas and was impressed by the rich flavor and portion size. Would come back for sure!
Delicious margaritas and to-die-for dishes. Fun atmosphere too.
Good food, albeit way too much cilantro on everything. Service was good. Our food was a bit of a wait but worth it.
Solid dining choice. Food seems a bit pricey at times but I haven't ordered anything I didn't like yet. Go for the regular margarita. Short glasses ain't worth it, though they're all tasty.
I really loved this place ! Really great food and great service . The restaurant looked clean and my food was served to me quickly and fresh . We had the tacos , chips and guacamole and the tortilla soup .
The drinks are great but be warned: if you can't handle spice, your options are guacamole and a quesadilla.... And not even the rice and beans that come with the quesadilla
Delicious salsas, tacos, and margaritas in the heart of Cap Hill. Not one of the cheaper Mexican spots in town, but definitely one of the tastiest.
If I was on the show 'The best thing I ever ate' I would choose this chopped salad with grilled chicken. The chicken is marinated in line, cilantro and garlic. There are black beans, cotija cheese and grilled corn. I omit the pic because I'm not a jalapeno fan but you shouldn't. It's one of the best salads in Seattle.
I only had cocktails here but they were amazing!
Really good drinks
Delicious! Chips and guac were great and the service was really great. Very prompt even when the place was packed. You can't go wrong with the watermelon margarita. Pink and delicious? Yes please!
Friendly staff and great food. The place is huge but somehow felt cozy and really well done for the layout. Definitely excited to go back.
Restaurant is good. It works on Christmas Eve. Food is not delicious but fine. Staff is attentive.
Decent place. The Cocktails served here are quite watery and have very little alcohol in them. Basically you are ordering a highly priced flavoured ice water if you are ordering cocktails. Food is good though.
I recommend the corn appetizer! The taco trio entree was also pretty good. I was surprised at how spicy the chicken was. Been here a couple times and it's been good both times so far!
Great American style Mexican food! I really prefer this location because it definitely feels more like “a night out” for us gals. (The Bothell location charges the same amount and is in a suburban city square.) Try the chicken tacos, they are reasonably priced and taste amazing! The con to this restaurant is you have to pay for the chips and salsa. Drinks are also really good too! A tip, never trust the front desk. (They are useless)
A bit pricey, but on par with other places in Capital Hill. Great ambiance and a good happy hour.
Loved the vibe of this place- great service and good food
Solid Cap Hill staple. Good drinks! The food sometimes can be hit or miss, but the last few visits there seems to have been an improvement. Also, recommend for larger parties since it is spacious with a large open seating bar, though it is popular. So you may have to be patient for that big table to open up.
Tons of seating, 2 bars and a great happy hour.
Nice place for a bite while you've been drinking on the hill. Good at making simple drinks. The quesadilla is what is like to get there. Friendly talkative staff.
Fun atmosphere, often busy, loud and hot. Good menu and drinks, small enclosed patio.
FUN AND YUMMY
Upper scale atmosphere with upper scale prices. A good idea for date night and delicious food. If you are just looking for mexican food there are better options on Capitol hill.
I really want to like this place, but every time I go there I feel somewhat let down... The service is good, the food is OK... But its expensive and the place is loud.
Vegan flautas were amazing! Went on a week night so we were able to be seated promptly, and service was good
I live for their fresh guacamole!!! And al pastor tacos! I love the ambiance, and it's easy to get tables for lunch, and early dinner, so come early!
Everything seems very overpriced. Tacos only have a single tortilla which falls apart, the chicken is bland, and there was no complimentary salsa with the chips. I'm familiar with paying extra for bean dip or guacamole, but never salsa. Only reason this isn't rated lower is because they have decent service and we're nice enough to provide additional tortillas when asked. Tortillas kind of sucked anyway though...no flavor and brittle as if they were old.
Poquitos, Capitol Hill has some decent Mexican food. The ambiance is vey different from your traditional mexi place which I appreciated - unique lighting and a darker tone as opposed to the largely colorful style of say, azteca. Lol. I got the enchilada w green sauce which was actually really good. One thing is the price point is pretty poor- not worth what you pay. Nothing amazing which makes it fairly overpriced.
This place is great, very authentic cuisine and a wonderful atmosphere!
Great spot for food and drinks on the hill. Definitely recommend.
I love this place! It has made me rethink my Seattle Mexican food hesitation. I had a few bad experiences at “Mexican” that made me shy away but there are zesty gems like poquitos.
The Torta (ask for the sandwich) is incredible! I highly recommend it.
Poquitos could not be any better at being what it is, which is a perfect facsimile of a high-end Mexican tourist restaurant right out of your favorite central American destination. If it were Polynesian, it would be the best tiki bar ever. Since it is Mexican, it must be Mexiki (tm). The full bar is fantastic, solid craft cocktails. I recommend the house made ginger beer in a Basil mule. You won't go wrong with any of the food either but definitely stretch your culinary repertoire and try the fresh, hot chapulines appetizer (fried grasshoppers). They are surprisingly good! The parking is atrocious cause Capital Hill but the space is worth it and the service has been spot on 3 times in. The music is modern Hispanic, Matador hipster and confusing and at times but kept low enough to be ignored while adding reasonable ambiance. Go. I promise, it is worth your time and money.
For a place so far from Mexico this was a good place... flavor was the key, they weren't trying to sear my taste buds off because "that's Mexican food" but it wasn't very special either.
Love this place. Awesome staff great food. 5*star they keep it
Food was good, interesting cocktails.
Staff was great. Billy was very good and on top of things. The suiza enchiladas were flavorful but mushy. They had too much raw onion on top to be called good and the side of rice and beans while again flavorful, were tepid in temp.
Very hip and "happening" place with a fun and energising vibe but honestly the food was kind of mediocre. Went with a group of four and we all felt the same about the food. Given the number of great Mexican restaurants in Seattle I doubt I'll be returning here.
Great food and service. Would recommend.
Lots of hope. But was not good somthing wrong with the meet. Staff overly busy. Hmm bot good but not extremely bad either.
Authentic delicious food with great service.
Drinks were great. I ordered the shrimp and it was OK. The sauce though, that was fire. The Grasshoppers, yes, grasshoppers. That was a new taste.. Watch out for the strong after taste
Food was pretty good- service was quick. Salads are very small for the price you pay (10$ for like six pieces of broccoli seems a bit steep). The enchiladas were great, though!
Energetic rustic atmosphere with good takes on traditional Mexican food
Located in the heart of Capital Hill, this beautiful Mexican restaurant has a lot of promise. The menu is quite extensive with a good variety of food and drinks. The three soft taco sampler was nice to try one of each types of meat for not a high premium. Unfortunately during our visit we felt rushed out as we were asked multiple times if we were finished eating (despite holding a fork still and chewing). Good ambiance overall. Reservations recommended
This is a very tasty restaurant. I went there during pride and can't wait to go back. Great Drinks, great food and a great bartender.
Margarita is absolute best. Bartender is super friendly.
I loved it here. A sun filled room with beautiful interior. There's even a little fire pit on a table that you can sit next to on winter days to warm up. The food was great and the service was spectacular. Will definitely be coming back here again with friends.
The Margaritas are amazing and so is the food
Great place to grab some Mexican food and margaritas. I've been there multiple times and have never been disappointed.
Whaaa? Don't over think this. Just get on into this long-standing Cap Hill classic. The bartenders are second2none.
Definitely one of our favorite places. Great place to eat some Mexican food and enjoy it with friends. Comfy place and good service in one of the best neighborhoods in Seattle.
This place is so good. The food and drinks are wonderful and the salsa is to die for. Even the guacamole (which in my opinion is pretty much always good) is actually outstanding. The vibe is fun and the decor is beautiful but seriously come for the food the rest of it is just a bonus.
Holy Toledo, do i love Poquitos!! Real talk this is some good Mexican food!! Love the quacamole there and the street tacos were to die for!! Would definately recommend!!
Love this place. Great tacos, atmosphere, and service. And there’re seats where you can bring kids as well. Nice for both afternoon meeting with friends and a night out.
Very less options for vegetarians. Nice vibes but the vegetarian food wasn't that great. Felt like we were only eating cheese.
Really nice staff and quality ingredients for the price point. A great place to go for a cheap breakfast in Seattle.
Best brisquet quesadilla I've ever had.
It's a sad day when I have to say it, but Poquitos isn't what it used to be. Once upon a time this was my go-to post-yoga breakfast niche, but all of a sudden it seems like it just hasn't had the quality it used to. Don't get me wrong, the staff is pleasant and the bar is a lovely place to chill, but the once-excellent food has been disappointing the last few times I've gone. Today, when the carnitas tacos were cold and dry and the shrimp-and-grits were watery and unfortunately close to instant, was the last straw. With so many other excellent places to go, I just can't recommend it anymore.
Chilaquiles we're alright but I came for happy hour and order a Wells tequila with ginger ale and they changed the price from 6 to $9 because it was ginger beer. I also ordered the happy hour chicken tacos and the tortillas we're almost paper-y cold, not much flavor. Probably won't come again.
Food was ok nothing special. $11 quesadilla, salsa was fresh but lacked flavor.
Food is ok... The American way of Mexican food... not even close to authentic...
Great drinks and awesome salsa. Had an amazing time
Please ignore my husband flipping off my enchiladas
I absolutely love this restaurant and the service. I'm a big fan of Mexican food in general, however , I find that a lot of places make Mexican food kind of junky and is unhealthy. This restaurant was different from your usual Mexican fare. They had such a great selection of healthy options as well as an assortment of vegan options. The beer was really good and the food came very quickly and was well priced. I wish I knew the name of the server who helped us as he was exceptional. I can see why this place is so popular. We will definitely come back next time when we in Seattle. Highly recommend if you are in the mood for good Mexican food!
I've been 3 times recently because for some reason some of my friends insist in going since it's easier to get a table here than Fogón which is much better and close by. I've ordered the carne asada all 3 times and it is served differently every time. It's been cooked really well but super overpriced in my opinion. The rest of the menu is far from authentic, my main issue is how expensive it is for such fake food.
Great food and drink, friendly staff. A little expensive but I'm always satisfied.
The atrium is gorgeous! Happy hour tacos are the bomb. Loved the yam tacos!! “Spicy” foods are only moderately spicy.
