REVIEWS OF Plum Bistro IN Washington

As a Southern gal (and frequent meat-eater) visiting vegan friends in SEA, I was anxious when we came here for breakfast. When I say I had the BEST SOUTHERN SLAM ever, I mean it. I could eat here every day, and I'm definitely keen on vegan food now. The atmosphere was also SO COZY yet open. Do not miss!

Mark Towers

I was there with for a birthday party. I was a little skeptical as I'm a meat eater. The server hooked me up after a short conversation and I got the Americana. Wow it was great. Tried a couple of the other dishes and they were very flavorful but mine was the best. The "meatballs" looked great too.

Angela Ingrassia

Amazing food, but crazy expensive. Fairly large menu with lots to choose from. Food was delicious and high quality. Waiters were efficient and did their job well, but not the most friendly. Expect to spend around $18-25 for an entree. Over all a good experience!

Rachel Reyna

A little pricy but worth it. I got the brussel sprouts for an appetizer, Cuban Black Beauty for an entree and the Port Wine Cheese Filled Phyllo Flips for dessert. I was a little disappointed with the brussel sprouts, but that's probably just me. I tend to like mine a little more doused in sauce, if there was more sauce it would have been perfect. I'm not sure what they used for the bacon crumble, but that was delicious. The Cuban Black Beauty and dessert were amazing, and I would definitely go back for them. The tofu was well seasoned, and went very well with the beans. And the dessert was so flaky, and the candied kumquats (at least I'm prettt sure they were kumquats) added a tartness that really added to the flavor.

Loved this place! Good drinks and food. I Didn’t love the seitan but everything else was on point.

L. LaBrosse

Excellent food, service, atmosphere! Xant wait to go again!

Nugget & Sophia

Incredible food, excellent staff

Joshua Edwards

My wife and I have been here over a dozen times and we absolutely love it. The service is great! The food is phenomenal and the menu regularly changes. Moreover, each item on the menu is very unique and creative. My personal favorite is the tempeh vermouth, but my wife also loves the pizza. We love Plum Bistro!

Ryan Howell

Awesome vegan meal and drinks. Would come again with friends.

Seynab Ali

The food is really tasty1

Teresa Lindsey

Most wonderful vegan food in Seattle. Mac and Yease is a must!

Ski Demon

Pure garbage! The restaurant is dirty, excruciatingly expensive, and my food arrived burnt and oily. I would never recommend this to anyone.

Amber Zertuche

Seattle has a bunch of vegan options so I had to choose wisely when visiting Seattle from San Francisco because we don't have as many options. I chose Plum because it was in a good location (across from the Unicorn bar!) and the menu looked delightful. Well it was super delicious and in a quaint restaurant with plants on the walls and a great vibe. I highly recommend especially if you're a tourist and have limited time!

Sean Aryana

Lot's of fun dishes here, just felt like they were a little more variable. We got two appetizers and two dishes for three people which seemed pretty good. The pizza was easily the favorite and then some mixed feelings on the others across the board. Would recommend trying this place if something stands out, but again, little more variable as far as it being what we had expected and wanted.

Layton Hawkins

The portion sizes are not worth the price of the evening menu. The food was good overall, slightly unseasoned but nothing a little salt and pepper can’t fix. Atmosphere of the place probably was the best thing about it, very welcoming and inviting staff. Although any place that automatlicly charges a gratuity to the bill for a table under 6 people drops the rating down even more. I would like to go back during the day time to see if the menu is different. But definitely falls very low on my challenge to try everything vegan Seattle has to offer!

Hillary Hendrickson

Quaint restaurant in Seattle with great food. The Mac and cheese was great. Great service, super friendly.

John Madonna

I love Plum Bistro. The food is amazing and really does great things for vegan cuisine. They have a lot of great options for gluten free eaters as well. The stand out from the menu for me is the jerk tofu sandwich or anything with their plant-based shrimp. I would warn any potential visitor that this place is pricey, though it is clear that your money is going toward a former experience and a restaurant that tried to create a great place to work for its staff. Lastly, I'd also point out that the space is beautiful and forth right in to the aesthetic at Chophouse Row.

Gregory Poe

I've been to 3-4 Vegan restaurants, and this is BY FAR the best one I've been to. Everyone's meal was delicious. I'm not vegan, but I'd go back here any day. Plus, our server was really nice. It's also surprisingly affordable considering the quality of the food (~$15 per plate). We went during lunch.

Karthik Narayan

Avg food. Good service though. Expected a lot more for the price we paid.

Delicious food and service

David S Hogan

This is pretty high end vegan dining. And it’s awfully good. I’m not a vegan, but I appreciate well-made food. I don’t really have anything bad to say about this place. It was maybe a bit on the pricey side, but I’d go again, for sure. Especially since my wife is a vegetarian.

Vlad B

Food is good for vegans but quite expensive ( even without the scammy behavior I'll mention). The issue I have here is because the way they try to scam the customers. There is a mandatory service fee which is extremely disrespectful to customers. If you have a mandatory fee why not included in the price? Then what is the rest of the price? The ingridients? Why not breakdown the whole price? Truth is they just want to hide the price which should be unacceptable for any customer. To stop these scammy practices, I strongly recommend to everyone to ask the fee to be waived until it's included in the price or its made optional.

Mahendri Ramesh

The ambience was good and the servers very friendly and enthusiastic! The menu, I felt was a little limited, but the food was great. They were kind enough to accommodate our preferences as well.

Kapil Agarwal

I have been to plum bistro multiple times over the last few years and I had previously given a 5 star rating. I decided to change my rating after few of my recent visits there. I loved plum bistro because they offered a variety of dishes which were based on strictly vegetables as ingredients instead of meat substitutes. The veggie pizza used to be my favorite. However, they have updated their menu and most of the options now include one or the other meat substitute. I tried few of the items and the taste was more of meat than veggies. I would no longer recommend plum bistro if you're looking for a strictly veggie meal. Another disappointing event was the service. When we revealed our discontent to the server, instead of pointing us to the to a feedback system, the server just said that some clients like their food and some don't. Hence I've updated my review.

Lavonne Williams

Amazing food! It’s nice to find vegan options that feel a little more on the hugh end side if the culinary spectrum. I will definitely be back when I travel through the area again!!

Joali Rivera

WOW that burrito! That was hands down the best burrito I've ever had - wrapped to perfection and zero fallout. I've been missing sour cream, and the dairy free one here tasted just like the real thing. Amazing! The Emerald smoothie is also super delicious. Not too many people do a smoothie with honeydew and I'm all for it! I wish I could have tried more menu items as they were out of a lot of them after a busy weekend from a local event nearby. I highly recommend

Milton Lewis

Good salads and desserts

Navajo Ranjan

Cute restaurant with limited seats. PRO: excellent fried okra and fairly good service CON: 20% mandatory service charge and portions are small and expensive .

Troy Ferrell

To be honest we did not realize this place was a vegan restaurant until after receiving our table. We thought shrimp scampi was indeed....shrimp scampi. But we went with it upon revelation. The place food is decent, it’s just so overpriced especially with no actual meat options. The Cajun fried okra although good for being fried had no Cajun flavor or spice level. Unfortunately we would not visit again

Rhema Neas

Scrumptious, well spiced, and cooked to perfection. Every bite was a delicious moment. The staff was kind, and the drink were...potant. You get your money's worth!

Turner Luce

First let me say, I am not a Vegan. I have had Vegan food before and I found it lacking in flavor so I was suspicious. I was so wrong! The flavor of the food was tantalizing and distinct. Each bite brought new flavors and delight. The atmosphere was bright and inviting. The kitchen crew was on top of everything and were moving non-stop making sure everything was ready for the next customers. As a Crew Chief myself I found it refreshing that the dishwashers/busboys were aware of what needed to be done and when. What a great crew! I will be back for sure!

Joe Jocson Porter

Keep an eye on your bank account if you go here. I was charged an extra $50 and the owner refused to refund me.

Corey Minyard

Very good food. We had the pizza and the lentil caviar. And the bread pudding. It's kind of expensive and the service was a bit slow (though we didn't care), but it wasn't terribly excessive on either.

Kate Ross

Unbelievably delicious!! TOP vegan restaurant in the world. The Thyme Quinoa Pie was on another level, & not just for vegan food.

Yolanda Hong

This omnivore thoroughly enjoyed her brunch at Plum Bistro. The mac&yease is impossibly creamy. The portobello mushroom in the veggie slam was perfectly cooked and the cheesy potato cakes are addicting. The tofu scramble was as good as an egg scramble, the hash browns were nice and crispy. The pancakes were fluffy too. Didn't miss the meat at all.

LC DogMom

Great food and wine, seriously delicious but pretty small portions for the price! The black beauty was great but it just would’ve been nice to leave feeling full!

Nicole Yuen

Unreal. This place is great. We arrived during happy hour so we ordered half of the menu. THE BBQ SLIDER IS SOO GOOD!!! The house aioli is also very very good. I will be dreaming of this place when I go back home. Lovely service too!

Chelsea Lauze

Absolutely amazing dinner.. it was flavourful and so many good options on their menus. We got engaged the afternoon before coming in, so we could celebrate and I can't think of a better dinner we could have had. Very special, and the server was lovely. This would've absolutely been a 5 star rating had it not been for the tipping issue once we got our bill. We spent a good amount of there was an automatic 20% service charge (applicable for even a table of two) that said it went to the restaurant and then also had a section to add a tip. Taxes were also on top of this. So with their 20% service charge not even going directly to our server, but to the business. Our bill wound up being an extra almost $60 after all was said and done.

Alec Olsen

Absolutely delicious. It's pricey, but worth it especially if you want great vegan food. Small, cozy, and trendy, it's a great place for a first date if you aren't sure about dietary restrictions.

Sapphira Glemaud

Awesome location and small but interesting menu!

Elise Turner

I LOVE Plum Bistro! The food is amazing and the decor is so cute. It is pretty pricey for simple orders but I still definitely recommend to anyone, not only vegans. Also, if you order the tarte for desert, the flower is not edible.

Shelby Welch

We came in early quick for happy hour. Really nice vegetarian options. I wanted to try them all! I tried the "fish" tacos, yum! My mom had the fries, also yummy. The customer service was probably my favorite part. He was kind, helpful and went the extra mile when I left my parking receipt there and had to come back. I'd be back!

Kristy Kenderes

This place was perfect! Just what I needed today :)

Victoria Petrosyan

The food is delicious, the dining area is comfy and cozy. The staff really cares that you get the right meal for your body. I recommend this place to vegans, vegetarians, as well as carnivores who realize that meat should not be the part of every meal.

Ted Okerson

Loved the food. Very flavorful. Even though crowded, didn't feel that way with the tall ceilings. Server did miss one of our orders though

Shawna Smith

If you do not mind waiting then this place is absolutely incredible, I would go as far to say the best vegan restaurant I've ever visited. We had made a reservation for Easter Sunday and still needed to wait 1.5 hours, which I was pretty …

Evan Sumners

Great food. Love the flavor profiles. Mac and "cheese" was amazing! Amber was a great waitress and guided us to the perfect dishes!

J T

Started a vegan diet this month. This spot showed me how delicious vegan meals can be with the right creativity. Drinks might be a bit overpriced for what the are, but they're good. Recommend any curious about trying vegan food. You'll realize it's not so bad and instead can be delicious!

Chelsea Lauze

Oh my goodness so good I have no words. Why are you still reading this? Go, go eat!

Reggie Johnson

Had brunch here around 10:30. Got seated rather quickly with great service. We had the breakfast slam, candied bacon waffle, and the crepes. Everything was more than delicious and very filling. Will be coming back again!

zipper belly

Have gone here all 3 times I visited seattle and it is the best vegan gluten free restaurant I have ever been to. The wait is not to long for a walk in the mac and cheese is to die for and there buffalo portabella burger is reasonably priced and super filling. Plus the building looks stunning

Veronica Kim

Wow what a gem in the city! I've been to a vegan restaurant once in Toronto and had always wanted to go to one. At 6PM on a Friday it was quite busy but we got seated right away. The place was pretty cute and cozy. Service was good and everything we ordered tasted amazing - in particular, the Spicy Cajun Mac N Yease and the Ginger Pomegranate Fish were bomb! The Mac N Yease was very flavourful (also not very spicy) without the heaviness of real mac n cheese. The "fish" had a similar texture to tofu but the dish was very well executed. The blood orange cheese cake had a strong taste I personally didn't enjoy but hey, it's also vegan! We all agreed that we could become vegan if food tasted like this everyday haha Highly recommend checking it out whether you're a local or a visitor to Seattle!

Nick Desjardins

Amazing vegan eats, great staff, cozy atmosphere. And good coffee, too!

Kayli Robles

This place is okay. The food is good, but I wouldn't say it's what would make me come back. The tables are all crammed next to each other too so we can all hear each others' conversations. However, I like that the outside wall is open. I also once ate really good blueberry pancakes here that I would go back for. What makes me come back, however, is that I can actually eat everything on the menu (vegetarian) and sometimes I do not feel like browsing restaurants in Seattle and having to scan all the menus.

Arun Kannan

Excruciatingly slow service. Very salty hash browns. Salty sausage. I would have given zero stars if possible. Easily my worst eating experience so far in Seattle. Burger king is better.

Alexandria Morgan

Vegan food here - super good. super appetizing. prices that won't break you. similar to a place in denver i liked.

Thomas Fackler

So-so vegan dining. Try it at least once. Great service.

Saikiran Mullaguri

Best place to try vegan food. We have ordered famous Mac and Cheese appetizer, Quinoa pie and beauty in the East as main entrees. Food is served very well and if tasted good.

Sara k

I went for lunch. Delicious food, a varied menu, and great friendly staff. I'd love to go for they brunch sometime because that menu looks incredible too! Edit: we went for the brunch and go figure, it was amazing! I got the veggie slam which was fantastic. I've never made a tofu scramble as good, I wish I could steal their secret recipe! My friend got the caramel apple waffle and liked it, though I'd really like to try their avocado sauce "eggs" Benedict next time. Love this place.

Anthony Moran

Conscientious service with a smile. Wonderfully prepared wholesome food. Will recommend to my nutrition clientele

Lincoln Pothan

Sooooo good! We had the Mac, buffalo portabella burger, the ricotta ravioli, and the phyllo pastry dessert. Everything was amazing. The spicy Mac and cheese is the best Mac and cheese I've ever had vegan or non-vegan! The buffalo burger is crunchy, juicy, and PACKED with flavor. The ricotta ravioli satisfied all of my ravioli cravings with really creamy cashew ricotta. The pastry was delicious, but the citrus flavor of the toppings was a little overwhelming compared to the mild filling. Overall if you're looking for a more upscale delicious vegan dining experience this is the place. Get there earlier than you want to eat because this place is really popular and there may be a wait.

Joe Dorosh

I would drive to Seattle just to have another burger from there! It was amazing. Definitely one of the best vegan burgers I've ever had! As a side thought, the gnocchi left something to be desired. I will definitely go here again.

Monica Torres

Great food and excellent cocktails. Wait service friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely would recommend.

Sara Richardson-Murphy

Excellent! Very happy

Ushko Mi

Positive: Excellent Customer Service, Fabulous Food, and Great Cocktails. Dave was a wonderful server and provided perfect recommendations (including the "Honey" cocktail). Downside: the tables are EXTREMELY close together, uncomfortably so, making it unpleasant seating in addition to the lack of space on the table. If Dave hadn't done the amazing job he had done, I don't think our table would have been able to accommodate at all. Thank you to Dave and the rest of the staff! If "take out/to go" is an option, we'll return. Perhaps a larger venue should be considered?

keren shwartz

Great food and atmosphere! Just moved to Seattle and was looking for my new vegan restaurant to go to. I believe this is it. My mother who was with me (she is not vegan) enjoyed the food. Reasonably priced and portions are big! Service was excellent as well. I will be back!

Leon Capers

This place has amazing food, service and atmosphere. This open air restaurant is a must visit.

Shianne Wallace-Frank

Simply exceptional. Came here for my anniversary dinner and was not disappointed. Superb food, ambience, and staff. Our waiter even gave us a complementary drink in regards to the special occasion. Had been here once before, will definitely be back.

Akila Ganapathy

Totally NOT worth the wait! Service was very poor - with an automatic 20% service fee, there’s no incentive for them to ace their service! Food we ordered was very oily and they didn’t care that they added mushrooms when we specifically ordered our dish without it. Definitely not going back there! Must have paid heed to other poor ratings for this joint. Don’t get fooled by the high ratings.

Cliff Kerr

Good food, decent cocktails, but expect an eye-watering bill.

Barbara Lynch

Such a good restaurant if you're wanting some plant based dishes. Always a good choice and love the industrial feel inside.

Michael Vw

Extremely tasty vegan food. Little bit of a wait but if you expect that going in it's an overall delightful place to visit. Nice date night out and a little bit pricier than normal.

Ryan Rittenhouse

Great vegan place. Not even a vegan and I give this place two thumbs up! Mac and "cheese" is famous, and deservedly so. Everything else looked great too. Friendly staff. Pricey, but worth it if you're willing to spend more.

Ammanda Spealling

Decided to try out a vegan restaurant and was blown away by the mac and cheese. We came on a Monday for the all day happy hour. We had to wait around 35 to 40 minutes, but by 7:30 PM, they had already run out of the mini burgers . We …

Mark Redding

Vegan deliciousness perfected whether you want breakfast or lunch. Slightly leaning towards the wrong side of packed when it gets busy, but so worth it. Waffles are absolutely amazing, just like everything else on offer. Service is phenomenal. Went here three times over a short visit and would've gone for every meal if it had been allowed :)

Stephanie Jones

Food was good vegetarian/vegan fare. The ambiance was nice and friendly.

Ki

Just received an embarrassing and unpleasant experience from the manager and server. Do not waste your time or money! Its not worth it. The portions are small and the prices have doubled in the last 24 months. There are many other vegan restaurants in the city!!!!

Happuccino Life

Plum Bistro is a found a few blocks away from Seattle Central College. This organic, vegan restaurant has an industrial look with great food. I had the pleasure of eating here with my niece and her girlfriend on the weekend. The food was delicious and the staff was great.

Ronnie Taylor

I’ve been coming to this place for years. This is the kind of food that just melts on your taste buds, whether you’re going in for a Sunday brunch or a birthday dinner. The presentation of our meals even looks like a work of art; it looks as good as it tastes. I even have the cookbook, so that I can make something as delicious. The decor in this chic restaurant is soothing. When it’s warm, you can dine outside. There is a 20 percent service fee on all checks, so that’s a heads up. And the restaurant can get full, so there’s often a wait. I still think it’s worth it.

manaswini condoor

Amazing vegan food. Great taste and do try their maceneese (Even if you don’t like Mac n cheese). One of the best flavors that any vegan restaurant can offer!

Marji Zintz

Plum Bistro was astoundingly excellent. We got there in the nick of time to order off the happy hour menu and -- WOW -- we were really lucked out! We also ordered off the regular menu and everything was scrumptious. On top of that, the waitstaff were sweet and delightful. Makes me almost want to move to Seattle!

Jenefeness Tucker, MBA

This food was so good and filling! It took us a long time to decide what we wanted because everything looked so good! We were very pleased with the cinnamon roll pancakes and the apple sausage hash. Yummmm

Christopher Mesa

We received stellar service, got our food very quickly. I was very impressed with the vegan dishes my wife and I had. I had the ginger pomegranate fish and my wife had tempeh vermouth. The star of my dish was the sauce on the fish. It had tangy spice to it. I was blown away. The ice cream apple was delicious. It was a perfect serving for two. I can't wait to come back.

Brittany Arthur

First time was such a great experience. Make reservations!!(if you can) It was a busy day and beautiful weather, so they sat us outside which was perfect because the inside seating area is really small and it looks like everyone is shoulder to shoulder with each other lol Anyway, the food was absolutely amazing! Worth the money because you're getting fresh, quality food! Must try their mushroom "bacon" and their pancakes are so amazing I wanted to ask for the recipe lol overall, super cute Seattle place!

Sriram S

Was really excited to try this place and I did but wasn't that impressed. The sandwich was okay but the accompanying salad had squishy spinach that was well past it's prime. I will try something else on the menu next time but I do hope they make some changes and train people to serve high quality food.

Jōjia _Momo

Easily the nicest restaurant I've ever been to. The plates are specially curated and it shows. Creations that you've never conceived become absolute highlights of you eating career. If you're just visiting, you don't have a choice.. You're legally obligated to come here. And if you live here, understand how lucky you are to enjoy this gastronomical / dining masterpiece.

Haley Boe

The atmosphere is beautiful but the food is mediocre at best. They automatically take 20% gratuity but leave a space for a tip! How strange since they make so much already living in Seattle. Would definitely not recommend this place - go to Veggie Grill instead!

Miranda Ohm

Always delicious!! Happy hour snacks were great sizes.

connor schwab

Positives: delicious food and vegan Negatives: cost us $50 for 2x standard plates and a cup of coffee. Service was very slow probably because they automatically take 20% for gratuity. Portions were small too and I had to get something else to eat.

Arvind Arikatla

A little small but attentive staff and great vegan food. Nice setting as well which complements the food

Kristine Gormley

Holy cow this place is absolutely delicious! I'm not vegan but took my daughter who is, and family to celebrate her birthday. I was blown away with the unique flavors and just overall yumminess! Kudos!

Nicole Leal

Love love this place. Great cookbook too!

Honson Ling

Went here with a couple friends who have been here before and liked the place. The waitress informed us that the dishwasher was broken and we could only do take out, which was fine with us. Service was nice. But after getting our food. We witness the smallest portion of food for $15-17 a plate. Our friends who have been here before confirmed that our portion of mac and yease was smaller than usual. Extremely disappointed by this.

I give them only two stars for trying. I went because it is suppose to be a all vegan restaurant right? Well when I asked the waiter what kind of cooking oil did they use to cook the food he said, "We use Canola Oil to cook the food because it's least expensive". LMAO cheap mothaphuccers and vegans don't eat Canola Oil SMDH, all these people today just wanna make a few quick dollars off the Vegan's because it's so damn trendy ain't it. Y'all better ask these kind of questions and ask for proof next time you got to a so called Vegan restaurant. Then I asked the waiter for a straw for my glass of water, he said, " No, we don't have any staws." So I went to Mighty-O Donuts down the street since I stopped by there earlier to get a few staws, when I get back to the Plum Bistro there were straws in the lemonade's my friends ordered and not in my glass of water. So I had to stop and ask the foolish waiter, "Umm, you told me you didn't have straws didn't you". He says, "Oh, I am sorry I must of misunderstood you". So they use Canola Oil to cook there food and they lie about having straws. Never will i recommend this place to real VEGANS with real knowledge that I know of.

mae voeun

It's so refreshing to visit a restaurant with more than one vegan option ... makes it tough to choose, but everything we tried was awesome :) Try the Cajun Mac & Yease! (pictured: "I'm bloody drunk" & "veggie slam")

Sara Segura

So glad to have found this place! This is absolutely top notch vegan food, with interesting flavors, fresh ingredients, and ingenious combinations. Portions are also perfect size. We ordered three entrees and one serving of yam fries for three people for lunch, and one of us even had to take half their sandwich to go. We were seated immediately, staff was very attentive and friendly, and we were more than pleased with everything we ordered! I will absolutely be back.

Robert Hever

Meal was good tasting with generous portions. We had great service and our expectations were met! Would recommend for vegans out there and omnivores alike. Four stars because a cut below fine dining during our experience. My meal was good but missed the mark for being a 5 star wow experience. Would try again though!

Heren Huang

Rather delicious! We went late brunch time on Sunday and was initially told we couldn’t be seated without the full party of 4 (we were three initially), but then we did get seated with just the 3 of us. <10 minutes of waiting. Prompt service and good recommendations by the waiter. I got the tofu Benedict, I love tofu so it was delicious! I would definitely return and try their other vegan options!

Jenny Lee

Really bad experience for a potentially great meal. Waited a lengthy time to be seated, and again to have our order taken. It got worse from here, waited over 30 minutes before our server noticed we hadn't gotten our food, which means he hasn't bothered to check on us all this time. Comes to explain he didn't know what happened with the meals but he promises he put the order in. Comes back with 2 dishes which were completely not what we ordered and looked to have been things that were sitting around. The whipped cream on the waffles we were given was completely melted by the time they made it to us, and everything else was room temperature.

Ben Coleman

The food is great, but they pack you in way too tight.

Ed Waltman

Tasty vegan food, I am not vegan but I enjoyed their well prepared food!

Nathan Cannataro

I visited Plum Bistro with my mother and stepfather, staunch vegans who know how to find the very, very best. The extensive menu was impressive and all of the dishes came at least as good as advertised (if not better). The bustling and cozy ambience was surprisingly not claustrophobic (even though there was barely enough room to walk around). My only concern was our waiter, who took far too long greeting us and then delegated many duties to other staff. Normally this would not be of concern to me and certainly represents the way this industry is headed. My issue is that Plum Bistro adds a mandatory 20% gratuity; If you expect a 20% tip, I expect 20% service. We did not receive 20% service and thus my rating is maximum 4 stars.

Rebecca Petrone

You are forced to pay a 20% service fee (not a tip but money that goes to the employer) that is taken after taxes because the restuarant has to pay their employees minimum wage.

Dominik Sacher

We had Saturday brunch at plum bistro. It was crowded but we got a seat after a few minutes waiting time. It's located in a hip neighborhood. We had scrambled tofu, mac and cheeze by the side a and sandwich. All the food tasted good. Unfortunately it's a bit overpriced.

Devon Menendez

The famous mac & yeast is always in point. Excellent drinks with a diverse selection. One of the best vegan joints in town.

Brion Crum

Absolutely amazing ❤️

Eotteoghae

Great vegan restaurant. Mac and yeast was absolutely delicious.

Raphael Rauwolf

Food and service was good. Not groundbreaking, but good.

keiren fox

Best menu ever, for vegans! Tasty vegan calamari! Everything was delish. Thank you!

Cameron Richards

Some of the absolutely best and most creative plant based food I've eaten! If you can make brunch, I highly recommend it! The citrus blueberry French toast is the best I've eaten, vegan or not. The beetroot and ricotta ravioli was wonderful and the dry rubbed Moroccan spiced seitan was just as good. Great options for anyone, plant based or not. Definitely worth a visit.

Andrea Saunders

Expensive, long wait but the food was very tasty and unique.

Tsehay Haile

The venue and the food was amazing! The calamari tastes like there is an actual squid inside. The Mac and cheese was a bit oily but tasted amazing, I especially liked the tacos. Everything is a bit pricey for happy hour meal! We ordered 5 meal kinda like tapas to share and paid $110 with drinks for three and tips 20% which was already included in the meal. Drinks were okay, I had a margarita which was just average. All in all it was a good lunch but much more pricey than anticipated.

Max Pietsch

I had the Mama Africa salad. It was truly delicious and nutritious. Costs $19 + tip and very filling.

Grace Gravestock

After reading so many amazing reviews, I was determined to try out several dishes during happy hour pricing, and I'm so glad I did! The service was attentive, friendly, despite the crowded environment. Tables are close together, but the decorations are lovely and the seating enabled easy conversation with people on both adjacent tables. The mac'n'yees was so rich and delicious, it was easily my favorite dish. The fried green tomatoes were a pleasant, crunchy texture, although the tomato flavor was very mild. The creamy sauce on the fried green tomatoes makes the dish although I was craving something fresh and green after so many fried foods. The oyster mushroom "calimari" was satisfying too, especially with the sweet 'n' slightly spicy sauce, definitely a challenge to make at home so happy to try it here although I forgot to ask what they were fried in. The cheese plate was interesting to try since vegan cheese is so often disappointing. This was ok, but if the bread was fresher and warm, or toasted, I'd have enjoyed it more. The marinated mushrooms and plump, juicy blueberries (?) were beautifully presented along with a tart, firm, thinly sliced pear, which added a welcome crunchy texture. I couldn't resist the strawberry rhubarb cheesecake because I love rhubarb, just wish I'd have asked for more of the tangy sauce. I don't think I'd have known it was vegan if it was presented in another context.

Great vibe, service and food. All 4 of our party had a clean plate, no leftovers!

michele choina

I wasn't so impressed. But I think it's supposed to be the best vegan. I had a dish with monkfruit. I want crazy about the texture. But I've never had monkfruit before. Maybe that's what it's like

Sandra Simmons

Not just a great vegan restaurant, a great restaurant! Loved the General Tso's cauliflower and spicy blood orange margarita.

CRISTINA MARTIN

Really good food.

Plus is super cute and in a pretty happening neighborhood. Finding a restaurant like this that is exclusively vegan is always a treat. I ordered the Cuban beauty off the menu, and the tofu was super well seasoned but it basically had to carry everything else on the plate. The fried avocado was bland as were the black beans and bok choy. I decided to give the dessert menu a go and ordered the sugar plum ice cream. I couldn’t finish it beyond a few bites - it was gritty and there were probably too many pie crumbles. Super thanks to the staff member that removed it from my bill. As for the service, it was good.

Amazing food and fun people watching. Brought my mom and she couldnt believe that it was not meat we were eating. Love surprising carnivores like that.

100% vegan and organic? 100% delicious! Plum Bistro has an incredible menu that tastes amazing and is located in a lovely neighbourhood. It's especially a nice spot to visit during Happy Hour. We went here during Happy hour and …

Delicious food and friendly service. Our hostess was great and gave us a call on our cellphone when our table was ready. Expedient waiter who was polite. The appetizers were awesome as was the main course. I particularly liked the okra appetizer. A heads up, a 20% gratuity is added to the check for all parties. We were a party of two.

Alisha Tomlinson

Lick to plates good, but don't do that. This place is too classy for plate licking. Yum

gordon macmillan

Really poor service. I wanted to like this place. It's hard with such a great deal of frustration dealing with front of house staff.

Ms. Kidhe

Mac & Yease...my goodness! Vegan could be my new lifestyle w/food like this!

Sriharsha Kadalbal

Not worth the wait. Egg scramble had too much oil. Pancake was not fully baked. The only savior was the tofu sandwich which I admit was good.

Beth Crane

I love plum! The Mac n Yease is my favorite Mac n cheese. So so so good (a tiny bit spicy too). The ravioli is super filling but only like a 4*, and the jerk tofu burger has a super sweet cinnamony vibe from the Yam which I didn't love. Wait staff are always friendly.

Great food, great drinks, terrible service. Waiter took what felt like forever to fill our drinks and take our order. Food came out at different times. Food was still fantastic though

I wanted to love dinner at Plum. We waited an hour and a half for a table for a party of 5 on a Friday. We arrived at 8pm. I wanted to give it a chance. Previously we had waited 40 plus minutes for a table if 3 on a Thursday before giving up. As soon as we sat down the waitress told us the kitchen was closing and we needed to out our orders in. Wow, ok thanks. We had been talking with the host to ensure we could eat as we got seated around 930 and knew it was closing at 10 and he said it was fine. We put in our orders and the food came out half an hour later. But that's ok, I mean maybe its worth it and some places its just like that. I can confidently say I have had better avocado rolls from Safeway. The burgers were bland and squished together, the fries were soggy and falling over halfway bent in the little mug they came in. There was no flavor od distinction in the cheesburger I got, just a bun meat cheese that I literally could've assembled at my house with ingredients from whole food. My friends got the cauliflower which was basically deep fried cauliflower, also completely bland ith literally no seasoning. The drinks were amazing, I would go back for those. I have done brunch at Plum and loved it, never going back for dinner. If it is going for glorified vegan comfort/junk food then they should cede to Highline, which does a better version.

Never disappointed! Seriously satisfied with everything I’ve had

Regena Williams

I'm not a vegan or vegetarian so wasn't my scene as far as the food but the drinks and fries were good. And staff was great!!!

Tejal Raut

Tried the mama africa salad here, it was very well made. The place is usually busy with longer wait times, so I took a seat at the bar. I’m going to come back for the mushroom burger, it was flavorful as well.

Danica Fogarty

Great food, nice atmosphere. Good service Would recommend to friends.

Kristine K

Wow. Excellent! Such great variety and superb flavors! Love, love, love!

Thomas Dodson

Great food. Try the Mac and yeast!

Robert Parks

One of the best vegan restaurants I've found in the country. Do not sleep on the mac and yease!

Yuliya Tsviatkova

Really delicious vegan food, I was surprised it’s so good!

Marcin Jędrowiak

The menu sounds intriguing and promising. Though the dishes' finesse is killed by poor technique. Burnt veggies, too much oil. Quite creative though. Try the green coconut tea and carrot bloody Mary

Tony R

Mediocre fair supported by slow service in cramped quarters at a high price. Dinner is actually pretty good (but expensive). Brunch not recommended - go to Café Flora instead.

I was thrilled to visit Plum Bistro after planning my Seattle trip around vegan foods. I tried the “calamari”, the fries, and the macaroni. And I have to tell everyone that macaroni and cheese was the best dish I’ve ever had hands down. Vegan or not - that macaroni changed my life. I expect more from every other plate of vegan mac I enjoy now. Service was okay, but food was terrific. I would’ve ordered more, but the prices were higher than some of the other all-vegan restaurants I had the pleasure of visiting.

Raquel Scarone

Excellent. Too bad we don't have it in The Woodlands Texas.

Katherine Chou

Many of my favorite ❤️ restaurants in the bay area have gone because the chefs tend to move away. This is one of my new favorites and I hope it stays! Reminiscent of Slow in Berkeley.

Anna Olsson

Love this place but sadly you cannot rely on a reservation at Plum. Showed up for a 12pm reservation today and was told it would be another 40 minutes. Came back at 12:40pm and was told it will only be a minute. Waited until 1pm before simply leaving.

Megan Bullock

They have the best mac and cheese! It's a great vegan place to eat, for sure! And check out their green coconut tea, you'll love it if you're into green tea.

Stephen Paskey

Decent food but not amazing. The service is terrible -- and you're forced to pay a 20% service charge that's printed in type so tiny no one can read it. Because of a "mix up" (the waiter's words) it took over 10 minutes to get a beer when the restaurant was less than half full during happy hour. I asked for a manager, and the waiter lied and said there wasn't one in the restaurant. After I loudly insisted that he get a manager on the phone, a manager magically appeared. I'll never go back. For what they charge and with a mandatory service charge, I expect better food and better service -- and waiters who don't lie to me.

Adam Martin

Excellent veggie burrito and excellent wait staff

Jessica Bidwell

Best vegan restaurant in Seattle. The Mac n Yease is sooo good. Love coming here for the tastiest food. My non-vegan family loves to come here when they visit.

Umang Gupta

Loved this place. One of the best tasting food I ever had. The chef really goes one step further when it comes to innovation in vegan food. A tiny bit expensive, but mostly because it tasted so good we couldn't stop ordering more. Wasn't disappointed by even a single dish. Will love to go there again on my next visit to Seattle.

Harpreet Kaur

My husband and I love this place

Diesel Devers

Great foot cozy setting with excellent drinks and lighting

Hannah C

Great food! This place has been recommended to me by multiple friends, and I was definitely impressed.

Melody Dawn Gentry

Food was incredible

Tee W

I'm a proud carnivore. Nothing in this world is better than bacon. But this place was amazing. The mac n yeas was better than any real macaroni and cheese I've ever had. The "calamari " was delicious! Will definitely be going back.

Tyler Harris

Cozy, delicious vegan food!

Nancy Martinez

Great food and service!

Had dinner here based on reviews on Yelp. We're always looking for outstanding vegan/vegetarian restaurants and were excited to try Plum Bistro on a weekend trip to Seattle. The atmosphere was okay when we first sat down at 5:30PM, but as the restaurant filled with diners, the close proximity of the table seating and the noise level made it challenging to hold a conversation while dining. I'm guessing that's why everyone seemed to be talking louder than normal. Flavors were good but our mushroom appetizer was peppery hot. We figured this was a good dish for drinkers to pick on. The BBQ taste on the burger was tasty, but also quite spicy, so couldn't finish this dish either. Thank goodness lettuce and tomatoes came with the burger; we needed it to cool our mouths down! The gnocchi (yam or sweet potato) was very bland, I suppose because we could only compare to the hot/spicy stuff on our table. The pieces were different sizes (difficult to get a consistent cook time), and not pillowy-soft like some I've had elsewhere. The menu did not have a rating for Mild-to-Hot on the 2 dishes we had, so we suffered through our choices. Also not stated on the menu or mentioned by the Reservation-taker, our Hostess, or our Waiter: Automatic 20% Service Charge in place of a gratuity (tip). This was unexpected, and we did not appreciate being surprised by it. If no one wants to mention it to the patrons, it would be better to raise the prices on the menu by 20%, and state loud and clear, "This establishment does not accept tips." Overall experience: underwhelmed. If you decide to try Plum Bistro, ask a lot of questions before ordering so you know what you're getting.

Mark Nagra

Unbelievable tasting food! WOW! The best Mac’n Cheese I’ve ever had bar none, so I ordered another. The Seitan skewer was very nice and tender, excellent flavour. The rest of the meals were awesome as well, and desert was great. Service was top notch as well. Will be our first place we come to when we come back to Seatle.

Karim Gwaduri

I would def recommend this place. Although they add 20% automatically to ur bill, the food is def worth it. The service was pretty good. I got the Mac n yease, avocado roll, plant loaf and the jerk tofu sandwich. All of them I would recommend. Plant loaf especially!
