This Restaurant is included in the category of New American restaurant.
Good food & beautiful roof top views of all Seattle buildings ♥️ you can see the space needle right away & there’s so many seats. It’ gets super busy so best to go soon as possible which they open @4pm. Love how they also got a swing chair by the side
Menu is rather interesting and unusual. The trout is a joy for every tastebud in your mouth. Delicate and perfectly prepared with spices so unusual on fish that after a brief surprise you’re longing for more. Truly outstanding food. Nice cocktails. Nice staff. Beautiful rooftop, sit outside!
Mbar is one of my new favorite places in Seattle! The views are fantastic and so is the atmosphere. The attention to detail put into the decor and seating with lots of room for big parties or fun to go after work to catch the sunset. Foods great and so are the cocktails. I will be coming back again and with friends!
The view was amazing and the staff was pretty great. Very accommodating and knowledgeable. Would totally give 5 stars if there were more food options. Theres not too much to choose from.... having said that, the trout dish was probably the best prepared fish I've ever tasted.
Beautiful view, tasty but small menu that is fairly overpriced. Service is incredibly slow and servers blatantly forget orders, gratuity is already included. Probably a single visit place.
Amazing rooftop bar. New York LA vibe. Great food.
Nice views and comfortable seating even though half of the restaurant is basically outside. Ceiling heaters and heavy plastic curtains created a cozy space. Prices are steep for happy hour, and appetizers were good but a little sparse. If you're interested in a trendy bar with a view in SLU, this is your place.
Went here for sunset and drinks and it was incredible! They have a basic cocktail menu, but the bartenders should be able to whip up any drink.
It's as others have mentioned. Go here for the view. The are some other iconic view spots in town, but hit this one before it either fizzles or is blocked by SELU hyper development. Service was slow on the deck mid happy hour, even with plenty of open tables. Food is as you'd expect, not knock your socks off, but decent and well executed. Of course, you'll be paying for that view...
Pretty pricey but beautiful views of downtown Seattle and the water
Amazing view. Service and food were not very good.
Great view, everything else is average
Lovely rooftop deck - great place to spend time in the summer.
Great views if the weather cooperates but the food and drinks are just average. They also supply blanket on a cold and/or windy day
5 stars for views and cocktails, 3 stars for beer options, 2 stars for food (have only tried appetizers on several visits, but they weren’t good and they’re expensive). Come for a cocktail and views, then grab food elsewhere.
Very nice place. Lovely views, great service. Drinks were also well made with right portions of liquor. Good time all around!
Interesting place with a great view of SLU. If you didn't know it was here/there you, well wouldn't know it was there. Phenomenal bartenders. Food menu, for me anyways, is somewhat lacking. For me personally it's a great place to go for some drinks and hang out (soon!) on the rooftop deck. Not so much a dinner place. Just MO.
The space is really cool and the outdoor patio/ bar would be fabulous on a sunny summer day. On New Years The staff was polite and they did put out heaters and some blankets so to attempt to accommodate the cold outdoor party weather. I almost gave this only 3 stars because the food was totally off that evening and I don't know if it was just the staff feeling overloaded or if it usually not great. Dinner service wasn't really more busy than any other week night. There was an attempt at it being great food but the scallops were rubbery and over cooked the beef was precooked apparently and cold pretty much when we received it. A few other things were off in the execution. The little quail wings were good but probably would not get them again since the little birds are so darn cute in life.
Great place with better views. Wait staff were courteous and attentive. Drink options were solid. No food, so I cant comment. I would return.
Amazing octopus and trout. Very celiac safe!
Great food, food is terrible, maybe good if you are vegetarian.
Love the view of Seattle from here.
Good but expensive... nice views
Great views. Decent food. Not sure I'd rush back to eat but in summer this is a great cocktail after work joint.
Had a really great time here! It's a great view of the city and a great place for drinks. The food was also very delicious, just wish they had a bigger food menu. We got the falafel with beet labneh, fried romanesco, grilled halloumi & orecchiette. My favorite was the grilled halloumi!
So hip, so happenin' very much like the other groovy rooftop bars in Seattle. If you be down for that scene then have at it. You'll love it.
Nice views. Great atmosphere. Good food and drinks. A bit pricey. Didn't like that they automatically added gratuity.
Giving four stars for the ambiance, vibe and the service at this chill rooftop gastropub. Come to this place in the evening and you will enjoy the beautiful view and the bustling vibe. For the food, I like their take on the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine; it has creative combinations of the ingredients which gives you rich flavors. However, I find the size of the portions and the price not quite balanced. I would probably go there only for drinks and snacks next time if I feel like not spending 250 for two and wanting to feel full after.
Really lovely outdoor patio if the weather is good. Pricey cocktails.
Trendy place on the 14th floor rooftop with great views. Mostly late 20s crowd. Good afterwork place, requires reservation. Limited food menu, great selection of spirits and wines. Happy hour till 6pm.
Really beautiful view, with decidant food. Highly recommend if you're in Town
The views were probably the best part of this bar. They had blankets for guests to use, I think some games, table seating, and couch seating. The drinks were good, but they were out of many appetizers by the time we arrived, which was very disappointing. I think maybe it was around 10 or 11 pm. We got the olives, which were not pitted and that was strange, but they were good. I don't know, there are better bars in Seattle, but if you want to do the bougie thing then this is the place to go.
Nice place for a snack and drinks
Make reservations! Solid views, great music. Boring drink selection and the menu is boring and does not offer many options.
Great views, great drinks. However, our server was RUDE. She was walking away and we said Excuse Me as we forgot to ask for something, and she raised her hand at us and attended someone else, then came back. Didn't even look, or say just one second.. straight gave us the back of her hand.
Poor service. Almost never pick up the phone, or pick up and immediately hang up. Such a beautiful space, would benefit from more friendly staff.
Extremely cozy and hip rooftop bar+restaurant. The ambience was great! They had seating around fireplaces and quilts if the weather gets chilly. The music was great! Their cocktails were delicious!
Extra af but cool if your into it. Expernsive but good views.
We went here with a group of 8 ladies. View was fantastic, but food wasn’t that good and very expensive. Our sever was amazing, but when we tried to take a picture in a hanging chair a employee Peter told us “that is an expensive chair and you don’t want that on your bill”. We also weren’t informed that the main food was family style, and to get the main food we had to sit inside, when 2 months ago we booked a reservation for a window seat and didn’t get informed of this information.
This is our favorite rooftop spot in Seattle. We have such a good time. The menu is great and the atmosphere is perfection. My trick is this; book a table 30 min before sunset this way the entire place changes while your dining. It’s a really fun trick to experience both sides of dining.
Great view of the city. Perfect on a hot summer day.
No option for vegetarian food. Nice view of city from 14th floor
Great atmosphere, relaxed staff, delicious menu
What a great view over SLU and Lake Union! We Sampled the drink menu and found them delicious. Bartender's choice mocktail was the surprise hit of the evening.
Great views. Quick service.
Upscale but strict with reservations, seating, and they will not split checks
Great food, drinks and service, the most amazing view!
Great view, cocktails were okay (not the best I've had) and I wish there were more food options. Would definitely revisit for drinks.
DJ Top Spin complimented the ambience!
Poor service. Over priced and very limited food menu.
The service was excellent and the views incredible.
A nice bar with an open rooftop with amazing views of the Space Needle and the Union Lake. A perfect place to chill with friends over drinks!
Amazing views and a great vibe on this rooftop! Instant classic.
Rooftop venue with fire pits and blankets perfect for city watching and day dreaming. Nice drink and bites selection and a very attentive staff.
Service is good. Great view. Overpriced drinks. Their food is great, try the hummus. I would recommend this place for the rooftop experience. The music tends to be loud.
Worth visiting for the view, especially on a dry day. The food and drink are decent, just slightly more expensive as it is a rooftop bar. If you plan on sitting outside during spring or fall, dress warm as they might not have enough blankets as they do customers.
AmaZing view, atmosphere and food options. Perfect place to celebrate special time occasions.
Hard to get a better view, food choices limited from the bar but good quality. Tried a grilled flank steak over a very tasty romesco.
This place was amazing can't wait to go back highly recommend it.
Great view! A little high class for my liking.
Extremely upset that my team member was not allowed to join a farewell event on the roof-top. The reception desk downstairs refused to let her in, even though she was coming straight from work, in professional attire and obviously sober, giving no cause for concern or reason to send her away. I will not go here again.
Overpriced food and drinks and service can be friendlier.
Great views fun vibe
I've been to MBar quite a few times and it never disappoints. It's always a fun time, even in the winter when it's raining, believe it or not. Food/drinks are great and you can't beat the view. And the service has always been great from my end. I've loved everyone I've met there!
5 stars for the view. 2 stars for price and taste of drinks. More expensive than most SLU and downtown bars for the quality of the drinks. Very basic tasting and not a wide selection of anything local. Best place to come on a sunny day though! Staff are very friendly. Place is very clean. Clientele very upscale.
Great views. Classy. Good hangout spot.
My sister in law took me here on my recent work trip from Florida. The rooftop bar is incredible. Amazing 360 deg views of beautiful Seattle. And the food is on point. Try the eggplant, you won't be disappointed!
A beautiful rooftop bar with great decor and an amazing view of Seattle!
One of my favorite bars in Seattle. Love watching the planes land while I sip on a well made cocktail
Chic SLU bar that feels like a chic SLU bar. Not cheap but you onew that already. Appetizers and small plates were pretty good, staff was pleasant. Views are great.
A little fancy for my taste but great food!
The ambiance and views of Seattle from this restaurant is
Wow... This place has own unic atmosphere. I can't say anything much about it. Should I come back? Yes! My experience and expectations met. Here is a little taste of...
The whole experience of visiting Mbar was amazing. We didn't have any reservations on a Saturday night but the staff at the front desk was really accommodating and arranged an amazing table for the party of 4. You can have amazing view of the Seattle including a great view of the space Needle. The servers were super helpful, great recommendations. The food was very well thought out, great combination of flavors. The beet salad is a must try.
Amazing view but terrible service. Had a reservation at 830 and it is 915 and we still haven't ordered food! We still haven't had a server ask us what we want or anything. The worst service I have ever had!
Overpriced and long waits between rounds. The view however, is fantastic! I guess they can get away with it in SLU.
I've been to MBar twice, once in the winter, and once in the summer, and had the same experience both times. They have amazing views and the drinks are good, but the food menu is limited and I've had less than impressive service both times.
Highly recommend this beautiful bar and food was delicious and fresh. The staff was excellent
Loved the place...food is good.. highly recommend the grilled halloumi and the eggplant for starters... enjoy the views and food!!
Beautiful views! Moderate service for a busy Thursday evening. I'll be back.
Exceptional! From the moment we walked in mBar nailed it on every level. We we're celebrating my husband's birthday and could not have picked a better place! The food, the service, the ambiance, the views...all next level. I highly recommend making mBar a regular stop on your Seattle dining itinerary. And if you're visiting...move this to the top of your list!
Great vibes on this classy rooftop bar
Very unique place, beautiful views!
Really great rooftop bar in SLU. Food was delish. Happy hour is a great deal for food and drinks
When MBar first opened around 2015 it was really great-good atmosphere, not super crowded, you were able to enjoy the beautiful view it offers. The view of curse stayed, but this place is trying to imitate an exclusive club (it isn’t an exclusive club, they are just so desperately trying to be) with the required reservation and the guided elevator trip up to the cheap purple-lit hallways to the bar. If being around conceited and uninteresting people is your thing, then you should totally come here! You’ll leave paying way more than you should have for a drink and advancing your life in absolutely no way. But then again this same pattern has happened to every single rooftop bar Seattle has opened (Nest, MBar, and Frolik). To management: you’re in Seattle, not LA or New York. Please act accordingly.
Nice view with well cooked food!
Great rooftop bar! Fabulous service & drinks. Ok food.
Great atmosphere!! Prices are expensive and menu on food is limited.
Dinner at M Bar was exceptional last night. Our table had a view of both the Space Needle and Lake Union. The atmosphere is elegant and fresh. Cocktails, per my husband, were second to none. I am not a food writer so hard to explain how amazing the food is.. lets just say we cant wait to go back and try something new off the menu!
A rooftop bar in the heart of Amazon-Land? Ok it is a bit pricy but on the lower end for this type of establishment. Happy hour deals are a good value and the signature cocktails are $14 but very tasty. Good food, good drinks and if you're not paying, definitely try it out!
Really amazing lounge bar. Food was excellent, got the dip and three cocktails. Prices are meh, but you are there for the view and vibe. I've been here a few times and the service is usually amazing. The latest time, not so much. I think the guy was just having a bad day.
Great food, creative drinks, friendly staff, the vibe and the view make this spot though!
Very tasty food. Portions could have been larger and menu fairly small. But overall pretty good. Staff was super nice and friendly and even took our picture on the patio for a view of the Space Needle. Great view restaurant.
Very busy place so expect the outside to be slammed which means the workers are slammed too. Can't complain cuz everyone wants the dope rooftop experience!! Love it!
Such poor service that I'm truly surprised that mbar has a 4.3 average rating. The service at this place only seems to be getting worse, I'll share what we experienced the other night for my friends birthday. The Hostess downstairs refused entrance to the rest of our party despite having the right number of people on the reservation/ we were told several times there was a table on the patio ready but no one ever came by to move us until we approached the hostess 20 minutes later/ our server was so busy that we felt rushed to order in case we wouldn't see him again for another 30 minutes/ we were without silverware, napkins or plates when food started arriving at our table and given the long periods we didn't see our server, one of the original plates we ordered never arrived and by the time he came back to check on us the "kitchen was out" of that item. I will say that we did appreciate how attentive our initial server was while we were sitting inside of the bar. If there's a next time, we'll likely skip the patio. Not worth the frustration of dealing with the rest of the staff and the bill at the end of the meal.
Came here to celebrate an anniversary and really enjoyed the whole dinner. The dishes are simple but super flavorful. We dined on the patio for an amazing view of the city. There were plenty of heaters outside for the chilly night. One draw back is our server seemed to 'forget' about us now and then on godess busy night.
Beautiful views and exquisite food in a sleek yet funky setting. Great for a date night, going out with friends or just a drink by yourself after work. The fire pits on the patio make it a perfect destination even on chilly nights. The staff and GM were lovely, attentive and knowledgeable about both the wine selection and food. The Trout and Romanesco were incredible, as was each presentation. Can't wait to go back.
Great view, but pricey drinks and okish bar food. They were playing bollywood music last weekend and that was amazing :)
Hard to beat MBar for location in South Lake Union. This rooftop space features Mediterranean-inspired food and a combination of house and standard cocktails. Seating is available inside and outside, though you might consider making a reservation if you want to visit during the weekend. I've seen wait times up to an hour and a half. Parking may be tough, consider taking a Lyft. All that said, everything I ate here was delicious and each of the cocktails I've had has been better than the last. Highly recommend.
Amazing views, amazing food, great service
Has good food and service but seating looks cheap.
Great place to meet new people and mingle! Drinks were
Go for the view, stay for the atmosphere. An amazing Seattle find and a definite repeat adventure.
First and foremost to get to MBar's upstairs, you have to go into a building and find MBar's downstairs bar that seems fine, if a little unobtrusive for a dark, sleek bar. From there, you have to ask the hostess about reservations or if they can fit you in for a set amount of time upstairs. If you make it in, you take the elevator to a bland hallway with views of SLU until you get to the bar. Another hostess will confer with servers about your reservation, often repeating your name several times to make you feel like you're welcomed here. The bar itself definitely has a slightly tropical/meditteranean spin on the normal modern, cutting edge bar vibe not enough to stand out too much. It has an indoor area, an outside bar, an area that seems to be good for parties (like while I was there) that was off-limits, and then the patio complete with a small fireplace area. I'm unsure if you can sit there randomly or if you have to ask when you're being seated. Two lovely views of the Space Needle and Lake Union, with minor construction obstructions. Very sleek and modern layout with just enough greenery and wood to mix it up. Finally, the menu. The small plates and appetizers are a little pricey for what they are, but definitely Mediterranean theme. The drinks are fairly refreshing, not outlandish, and well made for a reasonable price considering the location. If you're looking for just a finger of a liquor, you'll notice they're a little marked up and seem to be a little modest of pours. Overall, it's fine. Middle of the road for me, but doesn't do enough that I am anxious to go back soon. I don't like keeping an alarm for my parking, and I don't feel like I should have to do the same for my bar.
Really Chill Vibes setting. The balcony on the back is extravagant. A real great place to plan a get-together for dinner and drinks. Maybe even a date.?
Pretty cool rooftop bar. Seattle doesn't seem to have much in the way of rooftop bar places but this is a good one. You get a good view and you can either sit under a roof which kind of defeats the purpose but is nice for the heat lamps when it's cold, or you can sit out in the open. I had a good drink and tried my friend's drink which wasn't so good so drinks could be hit or miss. It's kept up nice though. I just wish there were fireplaces on the roof, that would complete the atmosphere!
The rooftop vibe is great! They have warmers outside. But they stop serving food after 10:30 or 11 pm, so confirm before you go. It is not mentioned anywhere on the site.
Be prepared to wait 40+ mins for a patio table on a sunny day, or make a reservation - try to get on the phone and ask explicitly for one out on the patio with no roof or at the Lake Union end of the covered area though - we reserved a couple of hours earlier than we arrived and got a table technically on the patio but actually sandwiched between the bar and views of the I5. Quite a lively place - music loud by the bar but feels much more relaxed out on the patio.
Great Place to watch the 4th of July fireworks. Food and drinks were comparably priced to similar restaurants, and were well made. Great view!
Very cool entrance and beautiful views on the 14th floor. Great service and eclectic menu options. Great atmosphere.
Can't beat the view. Drinks and food were both good too.
Great place. Good food and drinks. The vibe is amazing. I read some of the reviews. The bad ones are lying
Came here on a warm summer evening at 8 pm and the place was buzzing with people. The only problem? They were out of some of the good dishes on their patio menu. Seriously? 3 hours before close and you are out of the chicken, lamb and hummus? We ended up ordering the corn nuts. The service here is slow and hard to get. Drinks are okay. The only good part is the view from a section of the patio. This place is way to overpriced for what it offers.
The service from the hostess to the bar tender was great! Very accommodating. The bartender took plenty of time to go over the menu and made excellent recommendations. The food and drinks were both very good!
The cover keeps the roof fairly warm, but if it's still too cold they offer blankets which is really thoughtful! Great view and love the experience you get walking through the hallway before entering. The down side, I'm sure rooftop bars being overrated contributes to the expensive alcohol.
Good view, good drinks, a bit pricey, and beer selection is adequate but not impressive.
The views and setting are amazing, but the food was just okay. The small menu is quite limiting, and the flavor was disappointing. Not sure why but our grilled rainbow trout came out a very pink color (similar to salmon). It was bizarre. I may give it another try but I'm in no rush to do so.
I Fux with this place...Mediterranean type of food...Love it!
Exceptional views of Lake Union, great food and drinks. Pricey
Awesome place! Loved the view and drinks
The steak was amazing! Tender and juicy. The view made dinner even better! Would definitely come back.
Great views, staff and drinks. They made me a variety of fun mocktails and had great cocktails for my out of town friends that were visiting. The only downside is that it is pretty pricey. But it's worth the treat!
Best views of Lake Union
Rooftop patio has a beautiful view, and there is a covered part with a bar that you can reserve. The Happy Hour is still expensive but it is nice to go at that time because it is less crowded.
Cool date night. Nice views and entrance. They make their own pasta, I'd suggest getting a half to share as an appetizer.
As a rooftop with awesome views of Lake Union, the Space Needle and the rest of the Seattle skyline plus a full bar, it's already a great spot... But don't miss out on the equally amazing food + desserts.
The view of Seattle is AMAZING!
The views at this place are amazing, and well worth the trip. The food, while limited, is excellent. The only reason for the 4 stars is the server at a recent visit was very inattentive, and had to be tracked down for additional orders and the check.
