We wanted to mark the end of our US trip with a nice and memorable meal. Both the ambience of the restaurant and the view were great. Individual components of the meal (drinks, food and service) were all fine (but not exceptional). Overall, I found the whole experience rushed. We had a three course meal, spent 240$ (including tip) and we were in and out of the restaurant in 1hr 20 minutes. However, I think this may be my European expectations of the pace of a meal in a nice restaurant rather than a failing in the service of this particular restaurant.

Exceptional food, great service, and views that are unmatched of Lake Washington. Been here a few times and they always deliver. Had the Chicken Salad (excellent with house-smoked chicken), the French Dip (pretty good), the Beet Salad (pretty good), and the Mushroom Soup and the Carrot Soup (both excellent). Service was spot on. Parking validation for 2 hours in the garage. A little pricey, but worth it.

It has changed a lot. We ordered lobster Benedict, Salmon Benedict, and Salmon soup. It was by far the worst Benedict we have ever tried, crab was tasteless, sauces were too sour and poached eggs were over cooked. On the Salmon Benedict there was barely any Salmon and capers were over fried, over all the taste was so sour my throat started to burn. Sad to say it was our last time coming here.

This was our second time there even though a little bit pricey for a semi noisy atmosphere the food is very good and well worth it. Our server was excellent even though the restaurant was busy he was very patient and his attendance was Timely. I would go back to this restaurant again but next time maybe try an appetizer for happy hour a beautiful atmosphere cold beverages and oysters On the Half-Shell :-)

Our waitress (Gwen?) was seriously the best, I swear she was psychic to our every desire! She made incredible suggestions, everything was a hit (we all four shared everything). The timing for each dish was just right- we had time to savor the current one before the next arrived. We couldn't pick a favorite either, it was all so wonderful! I really can't speak highly enough about the staff and experience. I do not live close, but I think I found my new special occasion spot.

We came, we ate, we loved! I've been meaning to check this place out for a long time. Right on the waterfront, and we got a table with a view. We came for Restaurant Week, and the choices were all great, it was hard to pick! I landed on a delicious short rib/ bean stew, the steelhead, the creme brulee. My companions all chose other things, and we were all more than happy. The portion sizes on the apps & desserts were understandably small, but the entrees seem full-sized; bigger than I expected for Restaurant Week portions. Great drinks too. We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful Marina view from our window-side booth. Romantic ambience with very low lighting, so that I had to use the candle to see the menu. Pleasant, accommodating staff who were attentive, but took care not to interrupt too often. Interesting (in a good way!) Manhattan with Cherry Bitters, and a large Rosemary Mule, that was tasty, but full of ice. French onion soup (a favorite, sampled at many restaurants) had a delicious broth & gruyere, but too much bread (for the diner on the Keto diet). Minestrone was lighter style with fresh vegetables, and elicited eye-rolling – an excellent sign! Beef Bourguignon melted in the mouth; a definite winner. My "Special" 'Scallops & Salad' was amazing! Scallops cooked perfectly with what looked like Apple/Pear, Witlof (endive/chicory) Radiccio & Watercress, the flavors of which, perfectly accompanied the sweet scallops. Dessert brought an excellent small, individual goat cheesecake with berries and coulis, and a thick slice of French, beer-washed cheese, which was well worth a taste. All in all, a very satisfying meal, with much (positive) eye-rolling!

The food was great, but service was terrible. My boyfriend and I had reserved a table and decided to eat at Le Grand Bistro because of the great reviews. We were seated immediately and were given menus and water shortly after. The restaurant served complimentary bread and we patiently waited for ours to arrive at the table. When it came time to order our food, we realized that our server was nowhere to be found and our bread had not yet arrived, meanwhile the couple seated minutes after us had received theirs. When our server had finally arrived, he just stared at us while leaning on the table. I said "I believe we are ready to order", and he blerted out, "Whatever" while he fumbled to grab his notepad. There was no "hello, here's our specials" or any type of greeting. We didn't think too much of it at the time, we just wanted to order and enjoy our meal. When it came time to pay, our server again was nowhere to be found. We waited about 15 minutes until we spotted him and flagged him over for the check. He then gave us our tab but was nowhere to be found AGAIN to take our payment. We were able to flag down another waiter to take care of it for us. Although the food was good, we will not be returning due to the service we received.

The quality of food is mediocre: oversalted fried potatoes and salmon, bitter chicken pate and overpriced mimosa ($9). If you expect to have a European quality meal, that’s not the place.

Can't go wrong here... unless you need a reservation. The food is great, the service is great, but sometimes they don't staff enough and on a friday or Saturday night they'll have 10+ empty tables(including outside) and they can't get you in. Response: The entire outside area is open sans 1-2 tables, which means they didn't have enough staff to support the full occupation of the restaurant. Something people should know that you don't always fill to capacity even on busy nights.

Food was quite good, but service was disappointing. We had to ask, sometimes multiple times, for every single thing we wanted, including obvious things like silverware. And getting the server's attention was not exactly easy, so it made for a frustrating experience. Other people I know have had good experiences there, so maybe they were just having an off night... But I've only visited once, and based on that, I wouldn't be likely to return.

The food was good. Not that great. The experience though was not good at all. We went there for our anniversary and I had called a week and a half ahead for reservation asking for a table with a view and I had specifically told them that it was my anniversary. On reaching there, we were put in a corner table with barely any view. On being asked why we couldn't get a better view table, I was told everyone reserves ahead and it felt like a brush off. The table was so bad that we had to request them for a non view booth. My wife is a vegetarian and I had asked on phone whether there are any vegetarian entrees and was told yes. But there wasn't even a single veggie entree and servers were not accommodating to any requests. Whatever they had on the menu was good to taste and a deserts and drinks were good too. But the service did not feel comfortable and wasn't accommodating at all. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

It's good food, not great. Fries were more like potato noodles. Everything was seasoned well but for the price it's very lackluster. The desserts weren't anything special either. Very rich small portions but I've had similar quality from store bought desserts. While they are using expensive, high quality ingredients it wasn't obvious from eating the food. Seemed more like the experience is what made the food expensive. The location is beautiful and their servers are very friendly.

Edit: I don't know how to deletethe photos I updated wrongly for the plave. The review however is still valid forthe restaurany. I ratred 4 stars for the view and 3 stars for food. They have ( probably) the best view in Kirkland. However the food and services can't catch up well with it. All of the food we ordered were just ok. The oysters were fresh but the sauces went with it was nothing special. We ordered a champange and they serve it at room temperature

Exceptional! Four of us enjoyed dinner here early on a Sat evening. Everything I tasted was fantastic. We all shared a cheese plate to start. It had a nice variety and all of it disappeared. My entree was a pan roasted chicken dish. It was perfectly cooked and tasty. I opted to pair it with a 1/2 side of ratatouille, which was fresh and delicious. The samples of my wife's and friends dishes were equally well prepared. We each ordered a different dessert and shared as well. The chocolate mouse was outstanding and the lemon tart perfect. Our waiter was professional and attentive. He made a few recommendations that were spot on. The view of the lake is nice as well. Overall, I cannot remember a dinner out I have enjoyed as much as at Le Grand.

Absolutely amazing service. The server was very attentive and kind. I ordered the filet mignon, which is a $42 entree. I asked for it medium rare and it came out medium/medium well. I didn't even say anything to the staff but the manager overheard me making a comment to my date, and they ended up giving us each free dessert. It was an absolutely amazing night and I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone. Amazing view, amazing staff, and amazing food.

Think of it as French-style American food. The service was quick and friendly. The sizes were appropriate and presentation excellent. The flavor was savory and the meat cooked as ordered. It would have been nice to know that Saturdays weren't included in the Seattle Restaurant Week on the phone prior to driving in.
