You will be able to see the opinions of real people who purchase the services of Kauai Family Restaurant (Restaurant) in Washington.
At the moment the business has a score of 4.6 stars out of 5 and the score has been based on 536 reviews.
You may have noticed that it has an average rating is virtually the highest, and it's based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may be quite sure that the assessment is very credible. If there are many people who bothered to give their score when they are satisfied, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to write reviews when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant belongs to the category of Hawaiian restaurant.
Amazing food and friendly service! We had the Crispy Ginger Chicken, Kahlua Pork breakfast, and Chicken Adobo, all of which were really flavorful and tender. They have heaping portion sizes and really reasonable prices, which is probably why it was bustling the entire time we were there. I love how warm and cozy the environment is - it definitely feels like a family oriented restaurant and I'll definitely be bringing friends and family again!
Authentic Hawaiian comfort food. No frills, just tasty food at affordable prices. One of our favorite places to eat lunch.
We ordered 15 lbs each of Kahlua Pulled Pork, Fried Rice, and Mac salad for our wedding rehearsal dinner. Ordering was easy, and they packed the food perfectly into my cooler—no spilling or spoiling, as we were driving to the Portland area from Seattle. Awesome and friendly staff. Amazing food. Stop in for lunch if you’re in the area; and keep them in mind for bigger events too!
I love the ginger fried chicken and the mac salad. Try the bakery next door too.
Tasty and moderately priced. And there's a bakery next door.
The macorony salad and the fried rice OMG they have a suttel but almost addictive quality to the taste and textures. This place is far more then the sum of its parts. You get the feeling that they love food and they love there jobs. Please try this hidden and not at all out of the way resturant.
Family own, family operated, comfort, Hawaiian soul foods
Literally the best Hawaiian food in the city. Please go and support this amazing family doing amazing food in an amazing community. The ginger fried chicken absolutely slays and I sat for 3 hours today after because I was so full. Go hungry. Leave happy. The bakery is right next door and is also amazzzing.
Ginger Chicken extra mac salad.. so good
Our fave home cooked Hawaiian restaurant. One of the best chicken wings in town.
One of my favorite spots for Hawaiian food. Good place to catch up with friends. Certainly worth going back to.
Very good food, and great prices
Somewhat small and very comfortable, somewhat hidden, and absolutely delicious. Also the service was almost as good as the food. If you like Hawaiian bbq, I highly recommend eating here. If you don't like Hawaiian bbq, I highly recommend eating here. This restaurant will change your mind and open eyes to what good Hawaiian food is all about.
Amazing Hawaiian food, just like food you find in Hawaii!
This place is awesome!
Great place for local food and flavor
Friendly wait staff and the best Hawaiian food in Seattle. Be aware that there is often a short wait for a table at lunch time.
Great Food! Great Atmosphere! Anyday you can enjoy Locomoco with Fries Rice, while cruising to Kolohe Kai is a Good Day!!
Always delicious! Wish they had better hours..
Excellent food! Love the local Hawaiian atmosphere with all the Hawaii memories! The bakery has great cakes also!
Portion size was smaller than before and was served on paper plates with plastic forks
The OG of Hawaiian Ono Grindz! GINGER CHICKEN IS 2ND TO NONE!
Got the pineapple katsu very good
So ono! Been coming here for 25years. Real kine food! The bakery next door is just amazing.
Ono authentic Hawaiian food with good prices. They took almost 20 minutes to take our order, five of which I was trying to flag someone down, so that honestly wasn't great. But they did manage to eke out a "sorry" and it does have a "no frills" vibe, so I can let it slide. The bakery next door is also great.
Take care of aunty! ♥️ Save room for dessert from the bakery next door
Food is Ono. It tastes just like I was home.
Worst parking for an eatery. Hence, the 3 stars. Food and staff 4 stars all around. Lunch period gets too crowded and makes the waiting way too long for people with only 30 minutes for lunch. Calling in orders is tricky that it's best to show up and take a chance of waiting too long or not getting a spot to sit in. Recomend KFC for meals 100% !!!
Love this place.
If you need true Adobo in your life, this is the place to be. Also, on Saturday's they have life music, it is a great spot to spend an early afternoon if you're a little burnt out on late nights in the city. Also, get that Ginger Fried chicken. It is the only thing that holds a candle to the fried chicken available here in Korea.
The service was pretty slow but the food way more than made up for it. The ginger chicken which is their house specialty was unbelievably good. The interior is very low-key and no frills. Save room for after dinner to hit up the bakery next door!
Great authentic Hawaiian food! Well worth the drive. The pork Laulau , kalua pork, and more, all So ono!
Besides my food, the butter mochi was awesome!
Must visit. Their Lau Lau & crispy ginger chicken is delicious!!!
Excellent food always... the kahlua pork is the best I've ever had. I routinely order takeout and have never been disappointed.
Hole in the wall Hawaiian restaurant. All the usual Hawaiian food (poke, poi, musubi etc). Odd that they don't do fountain sodas, just cans. Very reasonably priced. Interesting location in industrial area. Serves breakfast all day long. Has Hawaiian style plate lunches and dinners.
Plastic forks and Paper plates... WTF! The food is still really good, but they have lost their minds and did away with full service. SO order at the register and bus your own table.
Hawaiiana BBQ Chicken is on point. Great family restaurant.
I took some pictures of the food I ordered. I ordered the ginger chicken dinner plate. It comes with 6 pieces of chicken, salad and rice for $10. I ordered the ox tail soup it comes with a small rice for $10. Small 4 oz poke for $7. 6 pieces of ginger chicken $8. They have a variety of drinks for $1.50. I got the cake from Cake of paradise which is next door. The slice of cake cost $4.95. They alsi sell ice cream, cookies, lihimui powder and candies. The two business is joined to together with a door inside. Like a hotel room joined together with a door inside. The staff is friendly and they play local music from the island. They accept cash is preferred, but they also accept credit and debit cards. Hope this helps. My family ordered carry out. Have a wonderful and blessed day.
This was a fun place for a big family brunch. We got here at 10 when they opened and picked up some coffee at the bakery next door. There were 8 of us but it was Thursday morning so we just grabbed a couple tables and there was plenty of room for us. People got pancakes and eggs and other breakfast things, I went for the crispy fried ginger chicken. Everything was tasty and pretty affordable.
Lived the better of 30 years on the island of Kauai and this place really reminded me of home. Good food and quick service. Also try the bakery next door!
If you like Hawaiian food, you will love this cafe. Everything is delicious and the family who owns and works here is so friendly. We will be back!
Great local Hawaiian food with great local Hawaiian atmosphere.
The best loco moco I've ever had
Super good food.
It was the bomb
Love this place! The food never disappoints!
First time. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Now I want to bring my whole family. Been thinking of going back for days and days. Mahalo.
Delicious food and friendly service
My most favourite places in Seattle & definitely like being with family like back in Hawaii. Good food and good people makes me feel like I'm back at home.
The food is great. They use plastic utensils and paper plates.
Amazing food and prices
Had an awesome beef cutlet and fried rice. The place was packed and every plate looked amazing. There looked to be only one server and she was absolutely killin' it! Will definitely come back.
It was my first time here and it took a good 20 minutes to drive. I arrived at 10:30 am on a Saturday and the parking lot was full. Kauai also services for breakfast so there was a good amount of diners in the morning. It's not a full service restaurant, so you will have to order at the register. The menu was a bit overwhelming as I was glancing at every other plate in the restaurant and couldn't decide. The friendly older lady behind the counter took my order and said they would bring it out to me. I won't ever forget the savory seasoning of the Fried Saimin Noodles and the made from scratch gravy + burger patty of the Loco Moco. The Loco Moco comes in two different sizes. I opted for the larger one as I wanted two eggs. When I asked for extra gravy, I will say I received a ton of gray. The cook was very generous. The rice was fresh and not gooey/clumpy, making the meal even better. The meat patty was cooked to perfect and was tender. The Fried Saimin Noodles had a generous amount of meat and the portion was massive. It was not too salty as there was an even amount of ham to make up for the flavors. This is by far my favorite Hawaiian restaurant in Seattle.
Very busy at lunch. They were a little short of staff, but still try to provide good service. Food was good, but not as good as the ones we had in Kauai.
Good food but terrible customer service. They dont even answer there phones for orders and when they do they'll let it sit and not talk just so it wont ring anymore. The absolute worst
Best island food in the Seattle area, easily. The laulau is awesome!
Great authentic Hawaiian restaurant in Georgetown. Lawai ginger chicken are a must have. It's in a bit of an industrial commercial area, so parking may be a bit hard to find during rush hours. You need to order at the counter and sit wherever is open. They'll bring the food to you.
Summer hours not updated on google. Closed at 330 pm
Excellent food, friendly service
Delicious food at a great price.
I tried the ginger crispy chicken for the first time and it was soooo ono. The decor needs an upgrade but the food is great!
I love my island foods
THIS IS SUCH A CUTE LITTLE RESTAURANT. Keep it a secret so all the aunties dancing hula to the live music won't get overcrowded haha. I was missing home a LOT while working in Washington so I came here and immediately got those island vibes again. They ran out of pipikaula super early though, we were there at 11:40am and they'd already sold out, which was confusing. Also, they don't have haupia
mac salad is great, so much great food here
A couple of my friends and I went around 1pm and they were quite busy, so we were expecting to have to wait a few minutes extra to get our food. But we ended up waiting 35-40 minutes to get three dishes that should have been either fast to make or already prepared. They also didn't come at the same time, there was a few minutes between each one. TL;DR: The food was good, but speed and organization was lacking.
This place is awesome! But please put prices on your online menu. I almost got into an argument about how much my friends had to pay me back because i made a huge order for them and they dont know how much they owe me. Again this place is awesome just put prices please.
Delicious food. Good prices. And if you dont try bakery nextdoor you have completely blown it.
We went to this restaurant because it had great reviews, pretty spot on! We ordered the pork cutlet and the ginger chicken from the waitress recommendations (our first time there). Great flavor, quality and quantity for the price, however the Mac salad tasted great just a little heavy on the salt! We shall return and try something else.
Love Lawai Chicken with the potato salad!!! Flavorful & crunchy...Passing Hanamaulu and not knowing no Lawai chicken isn't there anymore was so sad. Then I found out they moved to Seattle, I got excited. It's been over 20 years since I had Lawai chicken. Whenever I come here, I make sure I get my chicken. It's worth the drive!
Kaui Family Restuarant... Hawaiian Islands in Georgetown part of Seattle. If your missing Hawaiian home cooking. This is the spot! Great food! Hawaiian vibe through out. I would definitely return. The only bad thing... they're closed Sunday and Monday
My favorite island restaurant in Seattle Love the loco moco and traditional mac salad
Super busy all the time. Limited seating. A little overpriced. I guess it's good for mainland Hawaiian food. Definitely not like island food. Had the kaluah pork with eggs and rice. I probably could've made it myself. It's also understaffed so be prepared to wait. The area is questionable so don't drive a nice car there (mine was hit and no one saw who did it even though there were tons of witnesses).
Very friendly servers and wonderful food. I had the spam musubi and chicken adobo. Delicious. The macaroni was also tasty. You can tell this is a family business. It feels very positive, add not pretentious.
I love their Kalua pork. Friendly staff and wonderful large plates! I can't wait to try the ginger fried chicken next time! Everyone was eating it, I wish I knew beforehand.
Great family restaurant with great food
Amazing. Thinking about the adobo makes my mouth water.
We love that its Hawaiian ran and owned. However super busy only one person taking orders our plates were mixed with other customers. Good food.
This place is delicious. With a tiny storefront and no marketing except word of mouth they have created a business lasting 25 years on the back of their food. The fried chicken and kalua pig are my personal favorites, but everything is pretty good. The prices are very reasonable, and portions are large. This is a hidden gem of Seattle with a very casual vibe.
Authentic Hawaiian cuisine with lots of soul
Awesome food.
We were excited to try some really good Hawaiian food and hit a big local favorite. I had the fish and chips, with shrimp. It was pretty decent, but a bit light on the fish (2 pieces fish, 3 shrimp, and fries for $11.50). Shawn had the chicken adobo, Mac salad, and rice... It was average at best... Kind of tastes like they used the Mamasita brand adobo mix. It didn't have a deep and strong flavor... Adobos usually kick butt. The place was packed which is a testament to their fan base. The biggest discouragement was seeing a "FNN - Fake News Network" bumper sticker behind the cash register. If you're gonna let your politics be known, you may lose customers. I know I won't be back.
Most authentic Hawaiian food! It's packed so get there early! Worth the wait!
Terrific traditional Hawaiian dishes here. Must try their Chicken Long Rice and Oxtail Soup.
Really yummy! Food was great and filling
Tried the Loco Moco. And The Ginger Fried chicken. The Chicken is real good. The Loco moco is good. But would rather go for the chicken.
Paper plates?!?!? Seriously, I use those same ones at home .. service is terrible and food is expensive for it to be served on Costco paper lplates
The ginger fried chicken is awesome! Portions are generous!
Very hometown kind of atmosphere. Location is in cozy corner in Georgetown. Everybody on the staff is welcoming, great hospitality. We went in a little closer to closing time and they told us to just enjoy ourselves and take a seat. I got the Tonkatsu and mac salad, absolutely worth it for less than $13. Best Tonkatsu I’ve had in a long time. If you are a katsu fan, do NOT pass on this place.
The best Hawaiian food Seattle has to offer. Even years later and moving far away, I'll take a ferry just to get my fix.
I went with the family and we all ordered something different and shared. We got the fried saimen, ginger chicken, and a chicken/beef combo plate. Everything was so good. The beef were flavorful and tender. The fried saimen had spam, meat, tamago, and egg inside. It was perfectly seasoned. The ginger chicken had amazing flavor.
Great authentic and affordable Hawaiian food. The Hawaiian bakery next door is great too
Super good pork adobo
Sorry barely remember the place.
Amazing food and service
Da Haole loved it!
Just like back home vibes. I eat here 1 to 2 times a week. The best Hawaiian food in Washington
If I'm craving somebisland soul food, this is the place I chose. The people who work here are amazing. We have met so many people in this restaurant and we love the live music. Nothing beats the mix of island jams and amazing food.
Don't tell anyone else. Great place.
Tucked away place. I liked my friends bbq better. Very casual
Food was ono..had Loco Moco. Service was awesome. Only thing, they were out of allot of the menu items and they close early
My unk Samu Manoa put me n my family on this joint. And I've loved it ever since.
Pretty tasty food, however didn't seem very Hawaiian to me. The poke was subpar, compared to other places I had when I actually visited the island of Kauai. Overall, I suppose I just had higher expectations of this place.
Good portion size in the combo, a little spendier for lunch, but very delicious. Tons of options and the people that work there are so nice.
A true gem in the rough, tucked in a hidden corner of an industrial complex. The kalua pork with cabbage tastes like it's straight from Hawaii. You can tell it's authentic be the giant jug of hot sauce that's typical of Hawaiian established. Oh, and the creme puff in the bakery next door is the BEST I've ever had!
Nice family restaurant serving island style comfort food. The service is friendly and very accommodating. I ordered the hamburger steak and had them add grilled onions. It was filling and delicious. Will definitely be back with my family.
It's always great to find an authentic Hawaiian restaurant with consistently good food that doesn't try to get overly creative with their menu. Located conveniently off of the Corson/Michigan St exit of I-5. Parking can be a bit challenging during lunch time and is available in front of the restaurant and on the street (be careful of nearby businesses and parking enforcement). Pro tip: call in your order ahead of time. All orders must be made at the counter now, no table service, but there is plenty of indoor seating if you want to eat-in. It appears that they prefer cash, however cards are accepted too. There is a shared door to the Hawaiian bakery next door if you want to get a sweet treat or check out the goodies while you wait. The Loco Moco, Kailua Pork, and Mac Salad are my favorites!
The place looks like a dive and is in Georgetown of all places. I ordered the Lawai crispy ginger chicken and Kalua pig with Lomi salmon combo (they were out of Lau lau). I have to say, the food is very good and worth the roadtrip from Port Orchard to come to whenever you have the craving for some onolicious hawaiian food.
Tiny mom and pop place that does a lot of take-out. Love the food...some of the best Hawaiian! grub outside of Hawaii
Be patient here. It is not fast food. The plate lunch is better than many in Hawaii. The mac salad rocks. Mac salad is the test of a good Hawaiian diner...
Lawai ginger chicken was perfect: super crispy outside, tender inside, nicely infused with sweetness but not cloying. Also tried their lomi salmon and oxtail stew, both good.
Love this place. Great food, reasonable prices. Nice staff. One day I'll go to Hawaii to find out why it's all so good. Try the pepper water, yum!
Very good small place, kind of a hidden gem. The crispy ginger chicken is so good, the sweetness is beneath the crispy breading. Man, order it ... crispy hash browns and a great bakery next door.
This place is SO GOOD. My husband and I always look for Hawaiian food since our trip to Kauai in 2015. This restaurant is as authentic as it gets and has the entire selection of our favorites! Plus, the family that runs it is super nice! Definitely a do not miss. Note: it does get crowded so you may have to wait!
Great customer experience!
What an incredible find!!!! The food is incredible, the prices even better AND there's a Hawaiian bakery attached that offers EPIC desserts!!!! Will DEFINITELY be coming here again! Was here on a Saturday at lunch and it never slowed down because it's so popular.
Delicious Hawaiian dishes! Had live Hawaiian music and hula dancers when I went on Saturday too. Always packed here so expect a wait even for food to go (around 45 min wait but totally worth it). Their Ginger Chicken is one of my favorites.
Food is always so ono !! A peice of home in the big city
Awesome authentic local food from Hawaii
Got there just before the lunch rush. Food was great (good prices and large portions) and staff was friendly, what more can you ask for.
Found this place after taking Helicopter ride. Plate lunch BBQ and macaroni salad very tasty. Three different dishes, all :-P . Will make the trip from Redmond just to eat here. Family owned, run. Went on Saturday, had live hawaiian music players. Thought I was back home in Hawaii when I walked in. Excellent service too!
What to get: -Musabi -Katsu -Macaroni salad What to expect: -Family owned -Great food -Limited parking Tips: -Really crowded during lunch time so you might want to get to-go
First time at Kauai Family restaurant and the food was delicious! I ordered the Loco Moco and it was to die for! Love the food, the atmosphere, and the staff and their customer service was great!
This place is a hidden gem! It's a little hard to notice if you've never been here before, it's attached to the Hawaiian bakery. The menu is fairly small, and they seem to have perfected the dishes. I had the porky combo platter and tripe curry stew. Both were fantastic. Well seasoned, cooked tender but not mushy, full of depth of flavor. Tastes like scratch cooking with quality ingredients.
Went here with a friend and it was delicious for sure! Wait time for the food was long. Over 20 minutes. we also went later in the past the lunch rush it still took a while. The food should be the highlight here. It's as authentic as it gets. Myou just have to wait for a bit to taste it.... Super friendly people but it's time for them to expand the kitchen or streamline their food preparation. Parking situation is terrible street parking is best if you can find it. It still worth a visit.
This is a little slice of Hawaii. It was Saturday, brunch time and pretty busy. We got our order to go because we weren't sure if there'd be seats. Also, it was fairly loud. It was a comforting, happy loud but hanging at home with the cats sounded nice. I got the kālua pork, white rice and mac salad, it was delicious. Felt like I was back on the islands. Prices were fair and the order was ready fairly quick. There's a delicious bakery next door, also island style. Maybe same owners? There was aloha aplenty and I left happy. There will be return visits!!
Had a great experience today eating lunch with coworkers at the Kauai Family Restaurant. Had some out of towners so we thought we'd take them to war Hawaiian and this restaurant did not disappoint. Though they do not take reservations, I did call 2 days in advance to give them a heads up and on the day off, I called again to see if they could accommodate our large party which they did. Yes!! Most people ordered the popular ginger crispy chicken but I opted for the pineapple chicken (sweet and sour). It came with a side of rice (fried rice is $.50 extra) and tossed salad. I was a bit surprised to find that the chicken was deep fried (almost like a pork tonkatsu) but it was pretty yummy. Service was friendly and pretty quick so I know I will be back. Parking sucks but just keep looking.
Awesome foods, amazing service!!!
