This Restaurant is classified in the category of Mexican restaurant.
Only good thing here is the duck taco. The fish tacos were a disappointment, and were definitely frozen. Even the salsa was flavourless. Steer away from their ‘avocado salsa’ option. It was a slight degree above baby food.
They have a nice take on southwestern dishes. Did not order a spicy dish so cannot comment on hot spicy but was rich on chocolate, corn, and fresh. Very active bar, bartender was very busy even at lunch
Nice relaxing atmosphere. Staff is easy going and food is good.
Good tacos, substandard fajitas, acceptable margaritas, nice decor
Love the tacos and steak
Amazing margs any time of day as well as amazing food later than any other place here in Bethesda. Would rate this 5 stars in an situation. Plus fabulous happy hour!
Nice staff, good margaritas, tasty fish tacos.
Phenomenal food. Stumbled upon accidentally and so glad we did!
Wow! great tacos! As for their sangria, leaves much to be desired. I was seated quickly and the services was very fast once the server actually came. One star removed because the sangria was pretty bad.
Food and drinks are great. Can't wait to go back!
Good place in Bethesda for food and drinks. The food is super yummy. The environment is a little bit much. It was quite loud. The murals on the wall are kind of cool. I would go back, but the noise was a little much for me.
Great atmosphere although a bit loud on a weekday. Crowded but open tables. Food was good but they should put more meat on those tiny tacos since they are 4 bucks each. We got lengua, chicken tinga, and beef short ribs. Nicely spiced but a bit meek. I'd go back but don't expect to get full unless you want to spend 20 bucks per person easily.
I ordered the short rib burrito. It was delicious and enough for two. Price was not bad.
Great food! Duck nachos are soooo good. Margaritas sadly don’t come in pitchers but the hibiscus ones were worth it.
Good happy hour margs. Good atmosphere. Good food
Two Italian brothers open a Mexican restaurant. What could be better!
Ceviche was delicious and the service was great!
Patrick is the best server they have and their margaritas are the best in Bethesda. I highly recommend visiting their Bethesda or Park Potomac locations and you will be very lucky if you get Patrick as your server.
I've worked in the area for 6 months now and am upset I didnt hear bout this place until today. This is hands down one of the best restaurants in the area. Our bartender Sia was phenomenal. She was personable, relatable, had stories to tell, paid attention to our stories, and knew everything about the drink menu and what would go with our usual taste best. The food was perfect and went beyond my expectations. The drinks were the same. I will be back many many times. Thank you guys so much for the perfect lunch get away!
It's good, just good. Not phenomenal. Better tacos can be at a street truck. It's crowded with after-work crowd. the tacos are very expensive it's two tacos on a plate for $9...a third is $3 more. Nothing else in the plate. Two corn tacos $9 .. They should be better than average. It's Bethesda, everything is overpriced and just ok. Better than average taco places, but not as good as trucks that are few and far between in Bethesda.
Went here for happy hour. Great outdoor seating. Fantastic appetizers and margaritas and desserts.
Great place in Bethesda to eat and drink, they're known for the duck nachos they serve which are amazing! I also liked their stuffed dates appetizer & lengua tacos
Great happy hour spot my co-workers and I went here after work and the good and drinks were awesome. We opted to sit outside which was perfect.
This is a loud, casual, and lively restaurant with above average traditional Mexican cuisine and excellent service. Their happy hour and specials definitely makes this a place for margaritas. I got the carne asada which was flavorful and prepared to order. Portion size was on the small side but adequate.
Good place good food good atmosphere
Interesting spot but only for late night grubbing...
The food is delicious but this place gets loud fast. Don't bother coming here on a date unless you don't want to talk (who actually wants to talk on a date?). It's a small, but highly popular spot with very little acoustic dampening.
I really want to like this place, but the food lacks the flavour and one would expect from a Mexican Restaurant, there barely a hint of spice to it. Portion size a bit small for what one would expect, so appetisers are needed to feel less disappointed. There has been littler variance between the times I have visited. No complaints on the staff.
Always great food. Wonderful bar service and margaritas from scratch. The only spot I go to in Bethesda. Duck Nachos are like no other, but save room for the heavenly Tres Leches.
Excellent food & service, it's a must try.
Atmosphere was great and food was delicious! I'll definitely be back!
Awesome Mexican food, certainly the best in Bethesda. Very cool vibe. Great drinks (spicy margaritas) and a good craft beer selection on tap. Prices are great for the quality of food. There is a kids menu. Definitely try the bacon wrapped jalapeños.
Food and drinks are overpriced and undergood.
Excellent spot for happy hour or just to meet up with friends for delicious bites and amazing margaritas!
Good was very good, but the service was super show. Like order two drinks instead of one, slow.
Fantastic margarita and veggie nachos!
Superb service, good times!
Very basic Mexican food
I'm originally from San Diego and I miss Mexcian food! However when I came to This place I felt like I was home! The Guacamole was amazing and the staff was awesome. They makes the best drinks at the bar and all these food suggestions were on point. I'll definitely be back!
Fun, energetic place, tasty food, we tried several appetizers, great beer list and tasty margaritas.
Great small plates and lots of interesting/funky combinations on the menu. Seemed like a pretty popular place so likely to be a wait for seating or food, though our server was very attentive and kept us in the loop about our meals.
Cool atmosphere good food and fun little bar
I like it, casual dining, nice bar. Hardly anyone dining and it was lunch time. Shrimp ceviche was good. Staff friendly. Probably a 3-4
Great tacos and space!
The chicken tacos and jalapeño margs are worth the visit. I had a great time here Friday evening. You should get here early as the wait is long and people like to enjoy themselves so you’ll be waiting awhile. Lovely staff.
Duck nachos. Best duck I've ever had.
Great atmosphere and delicious food!
The beef burrito was excellent Bring a big appetite because it is not small!!
Monday's are the best due to 6 dollar house Margaritas
Food was good. Drinks were overly complicated. The ambiance was nice.
Great food, great atmosphere. Bacon wrapped jalapeños are amazing.
I got the Al pastor tacos, and they were so good! The portion size is pretty good too. If you are pretty hungry, get 3. If not, then get 2. Only drawback is it's pretty loud.
UPDATE: Soon after our initial call, we received a call back apologizing for the confusion. They were able to put our order together, which surpassed expectations. We wanted to get (just) a couple of appetizer trays for a special party and ordered within the 24 hour period for large catering requests. They told us that, since it was May 5th they could not deliver. A couple of trays? Seriously?
Love their food.
This place is always crowded in a great way. Make sure you make a reservation because the wait can be long. The food was so yummy and the service was awesome. I love the wall art and decorations. Their happy hour is a great deal.
Fantastic food and friendly staff
It gets crowded but there is a reason for that. There is nothing better currently in the woodmont triangle.
Yummy and great outdoor seating
Went there on a first date. Place is in-between dining and a longer which is great. My dislike was the overly rowdy crew at the next table
!Love it
Great meals and beverages. Attentive service during a busy weekend evening. First visit but will sample more next time.
Delicious food, great drinks and fun atmosphere
The duck nachos are off the hook.
The food is good, not 100% Mexican but average, they try to cook kinda fancy so they are experimenting to much. It is more a bar than a restaurant so it is very noisy.
The food is fresh! The staff is very friendly and the drinks are amazing.
Went here for dinner and drinks with colleagues. The tacos were awesome! Great atmosphere. Highly recommend!
food is great, beer is good but they took soooooo much time for everything
Honestly this place is hand down the best place in the DMV! From the food to the drinks and especially the staff!! Ed is an amazing manager!
This location is the best of the two. The Potomac one is always loud, but this one is just right with noise. The food is very good as well. The drinks are especially tasty. The duck tacos are very good, and the regular tacos are as well. Especially the fish tacos.
I liked avocado soup
Food, Drinks and service were great! I chose the lowrider as my cocktail drink and enjoyed the Chicken Fajitas! Its in a very lively area. I will definitely return next time I am in the area. Thanks!
Good food and atmosphere. Very enjoyable.
Visiting DC area, we came here with friends of ours who suggested eating here. And let me tell ya what, you will not be disappointed. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the food... Each savory bite was like a kiss from an angel.
Great spot, friendly staff, good food.
Food was good but quantity could be better and appropriate for the price.
Whether you’re in the mood for weekend brunch or dinner, Gringos is tasty and has a lively atmosphere.
Have always heard about gringos up until last weekend when i decided to check it out. Nice spot, packed and the food, patrons, vibe was really good. Can never go wrong with this place. will definitely visit again
The staff was all warm and helpful. First rate margaritas and good beer selection. We loved the grilled romaine and the fish tacos. And guacamole with grilled pineapple. Coconut flan was the perfect finale.
Great food and ambience. The margaritas are delicious and well prepare. Amazing taste food. It’s small and can get very busy specially on happy hour. Not a lot space between tables . I love the patio seating. Still worthy it. Perfect for a date night or friends night out.
WOW! Probably the best tacos I've ever had. Margaritas are flame too
Great hangout spot! The margaritas are great and are always made strong. Food is also good. Make sure you ask if it is spicy. There was one dish I didn't know had jalapenos in it so just make sure you ask if you can't handle spice like myself . Waitresses are always super nice. Have visited about ten times. Would recommend.
My brunch go to ! They offer $5 drinks on Saturday and Sunday's for brunch. The atmosphere is modern with tattoo inspired art on the walls. The food is flavorful and authentic. They have a huge salsa selection that you don't see anywhere else. I highly recommend the veggie burrito, I'm not vegetarian but it never disappoints. It's definitely worth a visit !
Great appetizers, great services, great tequilla. Went there a couple of times with the office: we all love it. I took my family, but they didn't. Very peculiar/sad.
The food was amazing
Simple, delicious, & good vibes
Great food and drink combo spot. Tacos are amazing and the staff was super cool. Great hang out on the weekend or happy hour during the week.
Sorry but I like Casa Oaxaca better:'( Small size for price Quesadilla was way too spicy - should've come with warning
Super stop on the Bethesda March of Gold Star Fun. Excellent culinary and socially tipsy fun for every age.
Great food, variety of options (GF friendly) and good service.
Found this walking in the area and checking my trusty Yelp. Didn't have to wait although did visit at 9pm. Margarita Monday where $6, I tried the Jalepeno Cucumber Margarita which was pretty well made, didn't seem to skimp of the alcohol. Seems as if their chips are homemade, although they are thick chips so be aware if you like the thin ones. The salsa was a good consistency and had nice flavor. For my entree I ordered Mole chicken which also came with rice. The rice was only so so, could use some extra spices and if you are not a fan of cilantro you'll want to insure you ask they leave it off as a topper, fortunately I love cilantro. The mole sauce had a good combination of chocolate combined with the other seasonings. The chicken was nicely prepared, it was cutable with a fork so definitely moist. My waitress Joella was very friendly and polite and checked with me a number of times on how things were, not all wait staff do that for a single diner. Overall a good dinner out and would probably fun with friends.
Cool place.. great food and fun drinks. It is a tapas place, the price is decent, great service and music. If you're in Bethesda and looking for a place that is not just a restaurant you should definitely try this one.
The food here was decent staff were friendly and restaurant had a funky set up which we liked. The meal was slightly expensive for just 2 main courses . Street parking on a Sunday in this location is free.
The food and service cannot be beat. Get there for happy hour and try the meatballs. You won’t regret it.
Wow, fantastic tacos and appetizers. The CEVICHE was some of the best we've ever had. The AL PASTOR tacos were an amazing combination of flavors. Varieties of margaritas were surprisingly good too. On a Saturday night it was loud and busy but our server was attentive and friendly. All around a very good experience.
Food is pricey, and there was not enough lighting. Could barely see my menu. Tacos Al pastor are not on the trompo, which is enraging. Not coming back again
Solid 5 stars. Absolutely amazing tacos. The staff was so helpful and attentive. Fish tacos were out of this world, duck nachos were amazing. A fun time in a great atmosphere.
Stopped in here after a long bike ride hoping to refuel with some decent food and was pretty disappointed. The vibe of the place is awesome, good lighting and cool art all over the place, but the rest it was very lack luster. It was pretty slow when I was here, which usually means quick service. We waited almost an hour from when we sat down to when we got food at the table, probably 40 minutes after we ordered... On top of that, the waitress forgot to bring out our drinks before hand (a beer and a water), and never brought out a refill of chips which we had gone through in about 20 minutes. My buddy and I sat there with no water and an empty basket on the table for way to long, especially since she had passed out table several times. We were hoping the place would redeem itself with stellar food but that fell short too. I had enchiladas, which were fairly bland for Mexican food. Don't see myself going back
I had brunch there today. I ordered the pork pancake taco. It was as if the fat around a piece of pork was trimmed and then sliced and used to make this dish. I couldn't believe it. Every single piece was fat trimmings. How can they serve this to people?!?!
Was definitely yummy...I had a steak burrito. Nice sauce, a bit of a crunch. Everyone was happy with their food, the drinks were a bit more, hit or miss. (Miss on cucumber margarita..I like adventure but way too cucumber). It's the kind of place that would probably be a staple if it's near by, but not so outstanding that I would make a specific trip across town for that burrito.
Delicious food but a very dim atmosphere. The prices are a bit high for the amount of food you get. There is some pretty awesome art on the wall. Worth checking out if you want some Mexican food in Bethesda.
Nice place with good HH specials on food and drinks! Tacos were great and the churros are a must!
What to say about this place? It has a great local vibe that is unmatched with its local competitors. Food quality is very impressive, with drinks to match. Happy hours are always fun here, and gets packed quick! I love coming here
Great tacos and cool patio
I love this place. The service is great the food is excellent and the drinks are delicious and strong. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu! The decor is awesome.
Friendly neighborhood atmosphere
The service was a bit slow and the portions was small.
Nice margarita menu and food was excellent. Great Happy Hour vibe. Also, plenty of beer and other spirits.
Great fajitas!
Seriously good food. The torta may be the best thing there. Girlfriend got the mole, and the sause was fine but the chicken was cooked to leather. There homemade salsa isn't bad, but not worth the purchase. Tacos are meh. Fancy, and good, but I prefer $2 street tacos.
The decor is amazing, margaritas are good, service very attentive. Every single dish of the three we ordered had no flavor or salt, it was like chewing on a piece of paper. Very disappointing.
Great taste.. awesome service on a crowded Saturday night. Awesome flavor to Mexican plates with a twist. Not authentic food but the flavors were.
It was good, not really special though
Delicious fajitas and margaritas! This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area absolutely delicious! Also suggest the guacamole -better than my boyfriends’ (which is pretty good)
Dinner gets expensive compared to the quantity. I have been here for brunch though and that’s pretty good. If u want to meet someone special or just hang out in a cool ambience, well there are many places on the street equally nice. Nothing special about this place. Seating is really tight. But service is good.
Bacon wrapped jalapenos are sooooo good and margaritas are good and they offer tortilla wraps for their tacos if you prefer or if you are doing a low-carb thing!
The food here is a definite step up from the average Tex-Mex place. The menu is interesting and well executed. Portions are adequate, but not as big as the typical Tex-Mex place. The restaurant is somewhat loud so don't expect quiet conversation. It is small, with a lot of tables for 2, so larger parties can probably expect a wait.
Great food, good service, great happy hour!
Food is good but is to crowded
Decent salsa and guacamole. Mole poblano was good but the chicken they put it on was cooked way too long. Torta milanesa was freaking awesome.
The food was delicious and the house Margarita was amazing! The service was great too!
Service was good. Food was ok. We asked for a cheese quesadilla instead of a veggie quesadilla and they could not make it for us because quesadillas are premade. No food made to order, I guess. So, keep that on mind if you have food allergies.
Pretty good tacos, reasonably priced. Good presentation, but lacked flavor. Bacon wrapped jalapenos on the other hand were fantastic.
Great food. Try the duck tacos and lychee margaritas.
Good tacos and great margaritas! Fun bartender. The music list was a bit dated but who cares with great margaritas!!
The atmosphere is superb for casual dining and unique menu options (like a couple of duck dishes) set it apart from other Latin restaurants. Drinks were tasty, chips and salsa were great -- usually a good indicator of how the rest of the meal will be, but the ceviche was off the mark because it was way too salty. I couldn't finish it, and I finish everything. Would have gotten 5 stars otherwise.
From is wicked artwork to the margaritas it was a good experience. Shrimp tacos, duck tacos, chorizo stuffed dates, ceviche and cheese stuffed jalapeños wrapped in bacon. Good things happening here with a chill vibe...Decor... on point
Taco's with habaneros will make your Temples sweat!
Highly recommended for your south of the border desires. I have yet to eat anything on this menu that I do not like. The same goes for the drink the menu. The staff is excellent! My go too are the duck nachos, lingua tocas, and anything with Mezcal in it!
Great food love the service
There's something for everyone here. Food is always fresh and fantastic. Drinks are great too. Highly recommend!
Great margaritas and white sangrias! Ask for Janelle!
Great food and fun atmosphere.
absolutely the best! our waiter was alone for the patio and inside but he was professional and very consistent despite his running around!!! great value for the drive!
Especially enjoyed the duck tacos. Not a good choice if are looking for a quiet respite.
Had a delicious salad. Ambiance is very dive-barry, so if that is what you are looking for great. Very loud, so hard to have a conversation without screaming.
Food was delicious and our server was very friendly. I will definitely go back!
Tasty, Mexican influenced dishes. A little pricey for the quantity but served hot and fresh. Not a bad lunch.
Nice, quick and friendly staff. Food was as described. El Pastor taco was rockin!
One of the few great Mexican food spots in the MD/DC area. They have above average margarita combinations and usually have a Margarita Monday special to enjoy them aplenty. Also recommend the duck nachos, where each nacho is hand made so they are all great. Tacos are generally pretty good, some better than others though. Overall one of our favorite Mexican places though the competition is pretty low in the area.
Food is excellent. We arrived at 7:30pm and the place was packed. We were seated after a sort wait of 5-10 minutes. Waiter provided excellent service. It was difficult to hold a conversation and hear due to noisy bar patrons. But everyone was friendly.
.Deliciously unique style of Mexican cuisine with excellent vegetarian options. Like seriously who would ever thought cauliflower tacos would taste so good. Seriously though their Elotes(Mexican corn) is to live for. I will definitely be back again soon.
Fun place for happy hour. Liked the drinks and the appetizers. We were able to find seating at 5PM on a Friday but it got filled up quickly, so may need to plan accordingly for large groups.
Great little Bethesda bar. Haven't had the food but their chips and salsa are legit
Nice spot for quick drinks and bites.
First time here yet I felt at home—everyone was super friendly! I felt like I was on an episode of cheers however in a radically different setting. The pulled duck was fantastic and the cochinita pibil was awesome albeit very spicy, even for me.
It is a nice and comfortable place for having dinner and have some beer.
Great ambience. The staff are super nice, and helpful. Great chips and salsa; tacos are pretty decent too
Food took forever. Was told the oven was broke. Not buying that, foood came out in ovenwear and piping hot. HH drinks were all ice.
A little lacking in hospitality and small portions.
Drinks, eats, and atmosphere. This place has friendly staff that are attentive and the menu has unique comics of meats for your tacos. Feeling adventurous? Try the lengua (beef tongue). Too much for you? Then try the al pastor (pork marinade in juice and spices). It’s all good!
Excellent food and excellent stuff everybody makes sure that we are OK
Love the food and the dog friendly covered outdoor seating area. A bit expensive though.
Fresh, generous portions. Lively atmosphere. Boisterous crowd (though not TOO much so). Slightly slow service, however it was a busy Sat night last visit...
Ingredients weren't fresh. Burrito didn't contain the ingredients mentioned on the menu. All round flavorless.
Great food and atmosphere along with awesome company
Nice ambience, good service. Interesting looking menu, but the food and drinks were pretty moderate. Portions were on the smaller side. Overall not great value.
Fun, tasty, hipster taco place. The food is overpriced for small portions, but you get that boujee vibe that only comes with patio seating and $10 cocktails.
The food here is amazing! Everything we ordered tasted awesome. Very quick and attentive service. Very friendly. The restaurant is near a parking deck, which is a plus. The ONLY downside is that it is so LOUD in the restaurant. Which is strange because I didn’t actually see anyone talking. Noise does not normally bother me. But it was so loud that I couldn’t hear what the person sitting directly next to me was saying. It was kind of bizarre. I don’t really know how to fix this issue. The restaurant just needs better acoustics, I guess.
