Amazing food, great staff and service. I just wish they would go tip free, up their menu prices, and pay a living wage instead of the forced 20% gratuity which is only mentioned in small print on the bottom of the menu. It just feels a bit scummy like something a telecom company would do.

Stopped in for a late night cup of tea, and the servers were very rude and holier-than-thou. I know it’s an upscale establishment, but I was charged nearly $6.00 for a prepackaged cup of chamomile tea. I could have bought the whole box of tea at Walmart for $4.00

Han-Up Park

darn cheep wines and, hey, they are really good! main dishes are surprisingly kids friendly; mild but full of flavor. Don't forget to try onion soup.

The food was okay, not great. Not worth the price to be honest. The service wasn't that great. We were group of 6 with baby. They had us sitting on the window table. Asked them to give us outside table and they didn't really like it.

Julius Wicked

I had a very well prepared breakfast with a tasty cup of coffee I'd come again

Brian Roberson

Yummy breakfast stop.

This French Cafe is on the smaller side, with a little patio out front which is perfectly suited for a light meal and an espresso during Seattle summers. Nestled next to Seattle University, the spot can get a bit crowded, but it's worth the wait during peak times. The food selection is appropriately French, and on the petite side, but rather exceptional. Coffee is also good, and my double espresso hit the spot, as did the beet salad and cheese balls (?) - I am certain that's not how they are branded.

Mark Kempton

Wonderful place for breakfast! The patio out front is in the sun and dog friendly.

Jake S

Food was fine, neither good nor bad. Had a croque madam, which was an average croque madam. Wait staff was courteous but not overly welcoming.

Nick Coffman

This establishment has a unique and lovable character, with light, authentic, simple French fare, a full bar, a unique reclaimed industrial space, multilingual periodicals and kind service at very reasonable prices. This is the kind of Cafe one dreams about, and when found, one never strays. Thanks, presse!

Best Americano I've had in Seattle in awhile; perfect temperature and so smooth and flavorful. Also, great outdoor patio on a 'not too busy at least in Friday morning' street. My breakfast partner said the chocolate bread was delightful as well.

The food is amazing, be it the breakfast entrees, a pastry (get there early), or the ridiculously yummy coffee. I strongly recommend those with a sweet tooth try the Almond Coffee Cake and a Macchiato... it's like indulging in dark chocolate and marzipan bliss. The staff is extremely helpful and warm (walked us through the menu as we were not familiar with French cuisine) and made marvelous recommendations (didn't catch the guys name, but bearded fellow in the back with a bit of a man bun). Excellent place to hit up and ease your way into the day.

Katie Norris

Great restaurant for a Sunday afternoon of a light soup and salad. Feels like you’re transported to France, the servers are kind and patient with orders, and the front patio is great for the summer

Kelly Johnson

A fav spot for tasty french food. Super tasty. The staff was friendly and observant. This place has a cool atmosphere.

It is phenomenal. Obsessed with their rhubarb dessert. I had it the first night we arrived in Seattle and had to get it one more time before flying home.

Café Presse is a great all day cafe with good food and wine options. Nice selection of cheese as well. They always have games on, so it’s the perfect spot to chill and watch games with your mates over a nice glass of rose. One of the few places to also offer a 4.oz wine glass, handy to try a few wines when you’re not sure which one you’d like. One negative is that the non-alcoholic bevies are quite overpriced. But c’est la vie!

Kelli Currie

Fabulous French fare and the best place in town to watch t Le Tour de France.

Rob

Great late night food spot. Wine reasonably priced. Enjoyed the conversation with helpful staff.

I guess by calling yourself a French restaurant in Seattle that means you can charge exorbitant prices on lousy food. Four of us figured we'd give Cafe Presse a shot. Hours later, my gut wishes we hadn't. The service was pretty good but nobody's food was. Cute little bar, and decent ambiance, but nothing at all to justify measly portions of low quality, and poorly prepared "French" food. I'd give the place one star, however, as I said the service and ambiance was pretty good.

Came here with friends after watching a show. Food was quite good, but the stand out, unexpectedly, were the small batch caramels. We bought a bag to bring home and they were awesome. I should have bought 3 bags. I don't remember the exact price tag (not cheap AT ALL) but it was just so fresh and creamy, it was worth it.

In town for vacation and met a friend who lives around the corner from Cafe Presse for breakfast. DELISH. The menu was a bit confusing due to it being French. My friend ordered the Nos croques maison monsieur which was beyond flavorful. I ordered the Œufs plats, jambon et fromage and couldn't have been more pleased. Both dishes were out of this world. The service is also extraordinary. Very friendly, attentive, and helpful to an unfamiliar traveler. Recommend!!!!

Food and service is always on point

Went for a late night glass of wine and our server was very gracious. Had breakfast here a couple years ago and I recall enjoying the baked eggs. Good vibes all around.

Philip O'Leary

Always a great time with a engaging staff.

Alyn Fischer

The food was excellent, unfortunately our server looked down his nose at me when I asked questions about them menu. Only regulars welcome here? Then he all but disappeared the second half of the meal when drink refills and other things were necessary. I would have liked to tip less than the automatically added 20%, but having a system where the customer has to ask to reduce the tip for incredibly poor service is beyond awkward. I would try this place again, if guaranteed a different server. For the time being I’ll stick with Cafe Campagne: similarly excellent French food and warm, welcoming service.

Ray Conboy

Great spot to watch the soccer

Salade verte is absolutely delightful

Carol Lwali

Very Parisian! The wait staff are helpful and the food is very good. You may have to experiment a little bit if you're not sure of what to get. For those who are not adventurous eaters, this may not be the place for you. That said, the baguettes and fries are a staples and great!

Meran Hill

It wasn't until I visited France that I understood the significance of the name (and sign) Presse. This place makes my heart sing. With decently priced glasses of Bordeaux and pain et buerre, it's my favorite establishment on the hill, always a posh pick-me-up and with a killer brunch to boot!

Arno Klein

The food is excellent, but I absolutely love their hot chocolate dessert! It's the best hot chocolate I've had anywhere in the world!

Jessica Robles

Fantastic French food & drinks, open seemingly all the time! One of our favourite spots in Seattle. Feel so lucky to live nearby.

Carly Lawrence

Great and friendly service. The best, delicious Croque Madame I have ever had. Cafe Vita coffee and a french themed menu.

Sofi Takei

My favorite late night food place. Or morning food. Or any time really. All of their food is simple but so delicious! Highlights include the croque madame and the omelette!

Alison English

It's a great little French place, but unfortunately I associate it with heartbreak and pain, broken hearted pain.

Bridget Albright

We ordered 3 desserts to go and the waiter told us only 2 could be made that way. We ate the Chocolate mousse there and it was delicious. However, we got home to realize we had only received 1 of our desserts. We called to try to reconcile the situation and the waiter we had told us we were only missing a tiny portion of the dessert and it wasn’t a big deal. He didn’t offer to comp the dessert or reconcile the situation at all. Very disappointed with the service we received.

Heather Mueller

Super delicious, very happy we went here multiple times!

Jan Nowak

The service was very friendly and I enjoyed the atmosphere of the cafe with the dimmed lights and no loud music. Very peaceful. Unfortunately, the food was only OK and they automatically charge a 20% service fee, which I find an awful practice. I was also promised peanuts but in the end received none. :(

Jeff C

Great happy hour, great staff.. one of my favorite places in Seattle.

John Grubbs

European style eatery complete with soccer on TV, Cafe Vita coffee and the best croquet madame in the city. Awesome fries as well..(frites..sorry)

stephanie

Pretty good, consistent staff, a solid Parisian style spot. Excellent pichets of wine, nicely priced.

Shannon Cuenca

The menu is in French so don't be afraid to ask questions if you're unsure. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and they will happily help you decide on an entree. My recommendations are a French 75 and the cheese plate- you can't go wrong there.

Sophia F.

Very friendly staff. Great atmosphere.

Liam Blodgett

Presse has been among my favorite places to eat - maybe even my top favorite - since the year they opened. Oeuf plat and pommes frites for breakfast, jambon cru sandwich or rilletes or soup for something light, fish or rabbit or steak frites for dinner. I rely heavily on Presse to feed and wine me at all hours, and they never let me down.

Daniel Halperin

Great for watching international football (soccer)! Decent coffee great service good food.

McKenzie Brickl

Cozy space with fabulous French bites, small but solid wine list, and great service.

Liz W

The best steak frites!

Franklin Furlong

In Seattle, this is the sister restaurant to Le Pichet in downtown Seattle. Probably because it is so closely located to Seattle University on Capitol Hill it has a different vibe than Le Pichet. At Cafe Pressed there is a TV mounted behind the bar always tuned to a soccer match somewhere around the world. Chic European magazines can be bought in a rack by the door. Service is crisp and efficient. The restaurant shares the same menu as the Pichet. There is a 20 percent gratuity for wait and kitchen staff included in your tab.

Rob Real

Great experience! Staff was friendly, food was delicious and the coffee was great too. If they offered blended coffee that would turn the 4 star into a 5 star rating for sure. My fiance and I will be returning soon!

Felicity Blake

Super delicious.Wonderful place for breakfast!Great late night food spot. Wine reasonably priced. Enjoyed the conversation with helpful staff. The food is excellent, but I absolutely love their hot chocolate dessert!

Toni Page

Damn fine Hemingway Daiquiris and French brasserie fare. Great morning, noon, and night. Meet friends and linger.

Amy A

Holy cow this place has delicious, authentic-tasting French cuisine. A little gem that I guess isn't so hidden because there was regularly a small line out the door. I highly recommend trying it out for a weekend lunch.

Tobin Booth

Excellent service and a cute little spot. Don't expect to spread out in here as this place is quite small. Good menu of French favorites and definitely worth a visit. I am a bit disappointed in the food quantity ($11 for a tiny but tasty salad) and wish the menu was more expansive. That said, there are seafood, meat and vegetarian options and many French-like experiences here from the beer to dessert and everything in between.

Eddie Tsai

Great wine and food with an affordable price!

Brenda Frost

Food is really good. Service can run from perfectly attentive to detached to actively ignoring.

Paige Schwarz

Always great food and ambiance. A staple when in Seattlw.

Teddy Nedelcu

This is an authentic cafe that has a menu in French first, and English second. As a European, it's as close as possible to the real thing minus the music and English language. I recommend this for travellers seeking a bit of home.

Shawna Williams

This is cute little French restaraunt, I didn't care too much for the food choices on the menu but my cheese sandwich was deliscious and the service was great!

Terry Hastings

Sorry, you are not allowed to add 20% gratuity automatically if you do not provide 100% service. There was no hostess, no busboy, no food runner. We only saw our waiter to take our order and deliver the food. The bottle of wine had been pre opened in back and he merely set it in front of us and never poured the wine. No one poured the water. No one checked back after the food was served. We never saw a manager. How can you justify adding the gratuity if you aren't providing complete service. They are also so cheap that they do not accept American Express. The food was amazing. Never going back.

Michael Evans

This is an excellent restaurant, and very reasonably priced. I came in late on a Thursday, and was treated to some excellent wine, chicken foie and a baguette, and some steak with french fries. The wine paired perfectly with the steak, which itself was incredible. The foie was also amazing. The ambiance was excellent, as there were several other patrons chit-chatting away, and the bartender was very agreeable. This is definitely a place worth discovering and returning to.

Casey Klaus

Great happy hour!

Mo O

Food is really good, comes fairly quickly and at right temp. Would be a 5 star but the coffee was an overly bold roast, bordering on bitter and the staff was a little too "French" in attitude: it wasn't busy, we were friendly, they were socially indifferent. BTW, tips are added automatically. We would have still tipped 20% had it not been.

Andrés Bolívar

Underwhelming food and service. A French restaurant that makes a flavorless French onion soup (without a hint of salt or pepper) and UNTOASTED bread along with a Croque Madame that has mustard in it should stop calling itself French. Another pretentious restaurant that automatically charges 20% gratuity for lackluster service ... well, I guess it may as well be in Paris.

Joe Ezaki

Cool French cafe. Good drinks and great food for a reasonable price. I was amazed at how much chicken liver they gave us for 8 dollars. The servers were attentive but not overbearing. Great vibe.

Zachary Holly

Amazing food and service

Steven Crawford

Here's a great day: broiled eggs and ham for breakfast, charcuterie and salad for lunch, roast chicken and frites for dinner. I'd live here if I didn't have to work for a living.

John Edwards

I just adore this place. The atmosphere. The coffee. The food. The service. All of these things are delightful. I had the croque-madame. Its like a grilled ham and cheese with béchamel covered with a sunny side up egg. Amazing. My wife got the Eufs plats, jambon et fromage (broiled eggs with ham and cheese). Also great. My kid had the pommes frites and she loved her fries. We also shared a Pain au chocolat - à l'ancienne, a chocolate covered baguette. Yum. Coffee was great too. The servers here are very attentive and super accommodating. I also love that they give you a baguette with butter to start things off. I wish I lived closer. Id be there all the time

TN Trang

Great spot for late night cocktails and bites!

Natalia Navarro

Awesome as usual! Best croque madame in town!

Christine K.

If you like delicious cheese, coffee and cookies and enjoy present and attentive servers, this place is for you!

Zach Smith

We came in for happy hour and were blown away by how delicious the food was and how affordable! The complimentary bread and butter was delectable by itself but we were blown away by the incredible muscles and croque and pork rillettes! Also a $13 happy hour bottle of red and great coffee. All around amazing, I highly recommend it (though expect to pay a lot more than we did if you come during normal hours)!

jNathy MP

Good food and attention!

Jeremy Crites

Had breakfast here one morning. Great service, excellent food (the egg plate is amazing). The atmosphere is elegant without being pretentious, and a nice chill vibe. So good we went back for dinner (steak frites did not disappoint!).

Kyle Givogre

Steak-frites

Max Willis

Not the biggest fan of this place but we went as a family for my brother's birthday. I ordered the steak frites. For $18 it was quite expensive. There were four piceces of steak and a small handful of fries. Service was ok; they add a 20% service charge on all checks.

Derek Bos

Food was great. Authentic french, you should go just for that. Crowded at lunch on a Thursday but we got seating outside. Service was poor. It was a little slow, but the real problem was the Matt T the server. I was in the middle of asking for another order of bread when he turned his head away and said, "please?" Thought I might have misheard him but when he delivers the check he clearly said , "you're welcome" before I could say a word. Poor tip incoming, but they charge an automatic 20 percent fee. Sweet.

Kerstin Marx

Love the food here especially the salads

Wes Dobies

I eat here twice a week and every time is amazing. The crepinettes are the dopest thing I have ever eaten. Ok, maybe not ever, but too 5 easy.

jim's opinion

Fantastic service. The food is not amazing but it's good and reasonably priced. Would be a 3 star rating for quality but the wait staff is stellar. Needs a lot of work on the quality of the plates, glasses, utensils etc.
