First, I love Bonchon as a chain. I've eaten at several and have enjoyed every single one so far. This one was no exception. What makes this one even better is the actual restaurant itself. It has a really chill bar plus a nice outdoor area. Makes it a great place to just hang out on the weekends as it's location a little off the "main" road means it isn't really overcrowded.

The bathrooms are very clean which is nice to see. A great place for a night out with friends, though I wouldn't recommend it for a first date since it's a bit messy.

I've heard about Korean fried chicken for so long and I'm really glad I have this place a shot. I was a little put off by the price and calorie counts, but when I realized a small order of fried chicken would be a meal and a half, I was a lot more into it. This is a great place to visit before or after a baseball game or if you're not feeling what's on offer at waterfront.

Rude and unprofessional host. Went there with my friends - group of 8, including my pregnant wife. Clearly communicated that we were fine sitting at two separate tables, but the host kept letting us wait for no reasons while there were at least 4 separate open 4 people tables. A group of 5 came later than us and got sit immediately. After waiting for almost 1 hour outside and be treated with inpatient host when asking for updates, we left with frustration.

Bon Chon chicken is normally good but at this location the chicken was dry and over cooked. The service was okay but the location was good because it is near the Nationals stadium. Not sure if I am going to visit again. I may give them another chance because as stated earlier, Bon Chon (the franchise) is usual very good. If I could, I would recommend BonChon in Rockville MD. It is alot better!

I heard a lot about this place because of its Korean fried chicken. I read about them and thought about opening a franchise in Canada. I was able to finally go down to USA and taste their chicken, both spicy and soy garlic. I like both tastes but it was not any better than any other Korean fried chicken places in Toronto. The spicy ones were closer to the gochujang, the Korean hot pepper paste, with a hint of sweetness. Their soy garlic ones were pretty good...not too much soy sauce and not too little. However the size of the chicken wings and drumsticks was a little too big and swallowed up the sauce taste. Compared to one of the most popular Korean fried chicken place in Korea, Kyochon, the light sauces were not right for the size of the chicken. It would have been better if the size of the chicken pieces were a little smaller for the amount of sauce they used. Yet, I have to compliment their plate deco and their services and their bulgogi hot plate my family also tried. They were excellent. However this review is about their main dish - Korean fried chicken. I think they were aiming for mainstream Americans, and this kind of dish in Canada would not be popular where there are already established ethnic Korean fried and sauced chicken places.

Stopped by late after a Washington Nationals playoff game. 16 beers on tap almost all craft, decent selection. Asian inspired menu, got the potstickers- they were good they have a glaze on them, need a dipping sauce though. Also got chicken fried rice bowl, it was good. Would definitely go back to try some other things.

As a southerner, as a connoisseur of fried chicken, and as a human being, I can say this is some of the best fried chicken I have had in my life. I dream of it, and when I have a bad day, all I want is bonchon. It is the perfect meal for any occasion and it is pure joy to bite into the crispiest meaty wing with the perfect sauce time after time.

Came to this location for one my most recent anniversary’s with my boyfriend. We had a lovely time. So much so that I wanted to come back a month later for my birthday. That experience was COMPLETELY different. We had a group of about 12 and tried calling ahead to let them know we would be coming in. Whoever the host was answering the phone was pretty rude. We kept getting put on hold with no one coming back to answer the phone. It was a game day apparently, so we understood that they were busy. We eventually arrived at the restaurant and it took us about an hour to be seated, which again we understood. I know there was a lot going on because of the game, but it’s still important to speak to customers with kindness and not impoliteness. Our waiter seemed like he meant well, but got flustered towards the end of our visit. Everyone who ordered wings had their wings come out REALLY cold. If they were at least warm, I probably wouldn’t have said anything. I spoke up to the waiter about this and he said he would talk to the manager. Our waiter came back and said that we would get to keep the wings we had and he would put in for new wings for those who had cold ones. Three people, including myself raised our hands. He asked all THREE of us which flavors we had. We told him, but a while later, only two people’s wings came out. I let him know that I never got my second order and he seemed confused. At that point I kindly told him I could just take them to-go. Those wings came out and so did the bill. He put my second order of wings, which was supposed to be a re-make on the bill. When my boyfriend brought this to his attention he tried to argue that only two people said they needed new wings when he asked earlier. But that’s not true because I am the one that spoke up in the first place, and he repeated back THREE wing orders, including mine. He simply forgot, as he was writing nothing down. I wish he would’ve just acknowledged that. We never saw or spoke to a manager. The food is great when it’s hot. But this experience really put a damper on a day that was supposed to be fun and a celebration. Super disappointing.

Great service and GREAT wings. If you like spicy food I highly recommend the spicy wings. A nice punch of heat with excellent flavor. Staff is incredibly friendly and polite. Would 100% recommend this to any of my friends traveling to DC in the future. We are not local and just wanted something close to our hotel so this was a pleasant surprise!

Ever since I had Bon Chon for the first time in NYC, I make it a point to visit one when ever the opportunity arises. Not a lot of Bon Chon places out west. Anyway, I’ve been to this specific Bon Chon about 20 times. Why? There is something about how they make the chicken that keeps it crispy outside and moist inside. I’ve been to the Bon Chon in Rockville and their chicken is dry. That’s how I came to learn that not all Bon Chon’s are the same. This Bon Chon has more than just chicken. They have other dishes you can pick from. Although I see the other items on the menu, I just can’t NOT order some chicken. It’s that good and let this Bon Chon introduce you to Bon Chon Chicken. By the way, the soy garlic is good but my favorite is the spicy chicken. Just depends who else is with me. When I’m solo on business, I sit at the bar. I’ve never had an issue or had a bad experience with any of the bar staff. Always friendly!

It's a nice Korean food spot to hit up before or after a Nationals game. It's menu is scaled down to appetizers, wings and sides during game day. While the more traditional Korean dish entrees are offered outside the games. Just an FYI. From the food standpoint, the food is very good with large portions. First, the Korean wings are flavorful, either coming in soy garlic or spicy flavors. They are well textured and crispy with the right moistness. Also, the shrimp sumai (sp?) Is worth trying as well. The service was pleasant and fast. I would definitely come back here again.

Grabbed lunch to go. Always a great option for us who work in the Navy Yard area. Wish it was closer to my job but definitely worth the extra steps. Of course I had the Korean Fried Chicken lunch combo (legs and wings) with mix flavors Spicy and Soy Garlic with french fries and a caesar salad. I'm stuffed and didn't get to the salad. Go try it out. Oh and order ahead to prevent the wait time if you're doing take out.

By far and away the best Bonchon I've ever been to. The staff at the bar was very friendly and helpful for my siblings and I passing the time on a Nats game rain delay which allowed us to take advantage of the happy hour menu. The dining area look very nice and clean which lends to a more upscale vibe compared to other Bonchon locations. Sitting in the restaurant area would likely encourage me to try any number of their alternatives to my favorite spicy hot wings for the sake of not making a huge mess of myself.

I thought it was like the others, kind of like a fast food restaurant but this location was more of a restaurant and bar with a small corner for carryout. Chicken was great as well as the fries. My advice for carryout orders is to call ahead because it made fresh on the spot after the order is made. Not far from Navy Yard Station. (Either entrance (ballpark or transportation side)

Okay, so I really enjoyed the flats! Crispy chicken is my thing, but crispy flavorful chicken is one of my favorite things. Here I ordered the garlic and honey. I liked the garlic a bit better, but both were tasty. They had a good texture, and I didn't get any chewy gristle. I had this with some rice and fried zucchini as an appetizer (highly reccomend) and I was a happy customer.

THE WORST PLACE IN THE WORLD! I came here for the first time due to a recommendation. I was seated pretty quickly and then, after placing my order, I waited and waited and waited and waited and waited. The server never came by to tell me the status of my food. A part of my order was an appetizer. After waiting an hr and a half, at this point, the waiter came to my table to mention that he had dropped some of the food and he went back in the kitchen to have the appetizer prepared again. I decided to get up and leave after waiting over an hour for an appetizer. I will NEVER visit them again. My first impression was a horrible one and I am happy that I didn't waste my money because I had definitely wasted my time! I called and asked for the General Mgr to give me a call so that I could speak to him about my service and I have yet to hear from him. ALL AROUND, A TERRIBLE PLACE. NOT WORTH ONES TIME OR MONEY. YOU'RE BETTER OFF GOING TO KFC.

Always my go to for korean style chicken. Great location, live upbeat enviroment. Food is always good and servwrs are always professional and ready to make your experience the best. I gave it 4 stars b/c I tried the new sweet crunch sauce and it does not live up to Bonchon standards in my opinion. For chicken stick with the original soy garlic or spicy( which is extremely spicy, but good). Beside fried chicken they serve rice and noodle bowls, pork buns and wraps and some Asian fusion options. There is something for everyone to eat on their menu!

Loved this place. I have three kids (ages 8-13) and we had an excellent experience. The spicy sauce is worth a try, but the garlic soy is the way to go. For a family of five we shared a large order of wings, salmon avocado ball, takoyaki, and an entree of noodles. All were delicious, service was very friendly accommodating to picky children.

The food here is really good. Especially their classic Korean Fried Chicken. They only offer two flavors (sweet and spicy) but they’re the perfect compliments and you can get an order of half and half to sample both. The chicken is twice fried and is super crunchy. Delicious!

French fries (side order) were served first (?), didn’t get ordered beer without explanation, etc. Lady, find another job or stay in the kitchen, where you’ll not be confronted with customers. Rest of the staff was friendly and polite, by the way. Don’t think I’ll come back here, though.

This place has excellent quality and taste of Asian cuisine. I went here w/ my older brother for lunch. He got the wings special. I got the chicken sliders which were next level/ amazing chicken flavor. Much better than "The Big Stick" place's chicken. The main dish that I got was Bulgogi and it tasted really delicious and would come here again with recommending this place to others.

Honestly the worst customer service you're ever going to receive... there are other locations you can get the same food with a better experience.. not worth the mistreatment. Our server was rude, loud, and treated us like we annoyed her by coming in to get something to eat...very very ghetto experience. We just wanted "half and half" wings and drumsticks and our server started YELLING that we cannot split the order in half and caused a scene when we were just trying to understand what she meant by it, considering it's on the menu to get half & half. Not sure how she's employed or how this location is still up and running with that level of service. Avoid this location at all costs.

I really enjoy having a Bonchon down the street from me. This is one suburban business I'm glad is in the city. The restaurant itself is huge and they have lots of patio seating in the warmer months. The soy garlic chicken is good, but the spicy chicken tastes like Satan pissed on it and they do not give an adequate warning. We also had terrible service, with multiple things either being forgotten or having to ask a few times. Our waiter walked by us multiple times while we were trying to get water or sauces, and I tried flagging him down at least seven times and waited at least ten minutes trying to get the check.

A very good place to catch some Korean friend chicken, and some other traditional Korean dishes. Conveniently located close to the Nats Ballpark! They have an outstanding lunch menu that gives you something like 8 strips plus one side (kimchi, rice, fries, etc.) for something like $10. If you do order chicken, please give yourself PLENTY OF TIME since they will fry it to order, so it might take 15-20 mins before they food arrives. Luckily there are plenty of TVs to keep you occupied while you wait.

The best wings I've ever had. I got half and half flavors. For those who are spicy food shy I would not recommend the hot flavor. They are delicious but also pretty hot. Also, the wings have a thin batter on them to make them extra crispy during the frying process. The wait staff was also friendly and fast at bringing drinks and clearing plates.

Henceforth, I will only purchase orders of drumsticks. The wording on the menu for "wings" needs to be changed to WINGETTES since this is what is sold and not WHOLE individual wings.

My daughter had her birthday party here, group of around 15 people. Staff was very attentive. Some in the group were skeptical about the chicken thinking they were "just" chicken wings, but ended up loving it. Everyone in the party had a great time.

So, this is my first time posting a negative comment ever for this location. I ordered the 8pc strips for my colleague and bulgogi tacos for myself. I typically order the strips and pot stickers, but decided to give the bulgogi a try. It was very disappointing, the taste was bland, my tacos were filled with lettuce, my taco shells ( soft) were stale. I did not, eat the other 2. It became a 1 and done situation. My colleague enjoyed his strips of course. For those tacos though it a no!!! Service was great for take out. They're always really nice and laid back. They're always very quick and my food was ready on time.

The chicken was good but the other food was not. We also ordered the pork buns and chicken matey and both were dried tasted old. Overall service was great but we’re giving this place 2 stars because both of us got sick later that night and tomorrow. This made us question their food safety practices.

Excellent food and a menu that makes it difficult to choose. I had the bulgogi and OMG; I wanted another. Their Apple Tea (alcoholic) drink was smooth and is now at the top of my list. A very laid back and chilled atmosphere and they weren't overcrowded on a Friday night. Honorable mention - the best double fried chicken wings ever!!!
