They are highly rated I think because of their fantastic list of cocktails, but I was there because of their fish and chips! It turned out to be delicious. It was a basket of two pieces of fish and delicious fries. Crunchy batter on the outside and the fish was fresh and good sized. Not too thin. I wonder if their fish and chips are better than the ones by the market! hmm.

I like this place, particularly Sunday-Thurs when the crowds are reduced (it can be a bit crowded and loud on weekends but not usually too bad). They make good drinks, they have some fun stuff on the menu, and if you’re not looking to get laid later on in the night you should try the deviled eggs to snack on.

It's a enjoyable bar with a nautical flair. Probably one of the chillest bars on Broadway and capitol hill in general. Their food is pretty good, reasonably priced. The drinks are vast, it's pretty dope to get a giant bowl of liquor that's on fire that you can share with that special someone. I come with my friends and friends of friends all the time.

Sweet little spot with what looks like many regulars. I've swung by a few times to grab a drink and a bite and was satisfied every time! On a couple occasions they've even had some awesome live bands! Would recommend if looking for a relatively divey-er bar on Broadway.

Comfortable, delicious, friendly. The laid-back vibe at the Bait Shop evokes the den of a middle aged NW fisherman - and that's a great thing, especially for locals who may have grown up playing in such rooms (I plead guilty). OK - this is more hip and tricked out than most of those dens...but I digress... The food here matches the atmosphere - deceptively simple but elevated. The Fried Chicken Salad ($14) is soooo satisfying. You can fool people into thinking you're eating healthy while there's this killer fried chicken in your greens. Drinks wise, Bait Shop runs the gamut: from 70's fern bar types like a Harvey Wallbanger to Tiki Drinks like a Dark and Stormy to a good old Olympia in a can. Your thirst shall be quenched.

Very chill place. The night we were here, the DJ was playing the Soundtrack to The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Pretty cool but not what I'm used to, coming from San Diego. Price for a Jameson n Ginger was $9. Not too bad, pretty stiff. Overall, I recommend it. Pretty cool place

Went here for food based on reviews. I'm guessing all the positive reviews are for the bar/drinks. Walked in to a very dark place with a bar right inside the door, no greeting even though I stood there for a while and looked around and looked at the bartender who was enjoying time with the regulars at the bar. No greeting, no help. Finally had to ask how to get food (order at bar, or??) Seems like a local hang where you're welcome if they know you. Felt like a fish out of water! The server was very nice once one did arrive to help as I sat in a dark room next to the bar. Food was ok, fried very dark to match the dark interior! Quite pricey for 2 small pieces of fried cod and a basket of fries. 3 stars is for the nice server and the fish inside the batter was fresh. I don't recommend this place unless you're one of their regulars or go with one of them. Otherwise it's not very warm or welcoming, sorry to say!

I had the 9 dollar slushie called "Painkiller" came in an overused scuffed plastic tiki glass with a parasol an plastic monkey on the rim. It tasted like dishwater with nutmeg on top. You will probably have to pay another 10 bucks to park just to enjoy the privelige of partaking in this place as there are roughly 2 parking spots in the whole neighborhood for this bar and nearby restaurants.

We loved the atmosphere at Bait Shop - casual with a throwback nautical theme. Cocktails and beer are bountiful, and the servers are attentive and downright friendly. I recommend the fried chicken sandwich and the corn on the cob (with cotija cheese - it's seasonal, we were told). They also have Its It ice cream sandwiches!

The Bait Shop is a great bar wearing the shirt of a dive bar. It's got great cocktails and tacos, though the chips and fries are kinda greasy and leaden. It's a little too loud for me at full capacity, but it's great at an off hour.
