Amazing hole in the wall Indian restaurant! Great food and cozy atmosphere! I highly recommend!

AMY GILBERT

Awful! We regularly eat all different types of Indian food and this was the worst And some of the most expensive we have had. There was almost no flavor at all. We both ordered the lamb sampler entrees. The waiter was not friendly either. They sneak a service charge in there ( $11) on top of the sales tax. Then they want you to tip on top of that! If the food was flavorful, I still wouldn’t be upset. We left this place disappointed, still hungry, and out of $90! Spend your money elsewhere.

Garrett Frierson

The food is so good, really tasty curries and stews naan

Alexis Fecteau

If you're looking for good service, avoid. Waited 45 min to sit after being told under 30, then was rushed every step of the way after taking 30+ min to get food, which then all came at once. Rapidly cleared every plate away before we were done eating, then told us the kitchen was closed when we tried to order dessert. Food was average, decent. Definitely not a place to eat unless you want to wait, then inhale, then have them shove you out the door to either seat the next people or close. Then they brag that they got rid of tips, since they add a "service charge" which they magnanimously distribute to their staff. Isn't that what they're supposed to do with tips? Were they stealing them before? Then of course they still ask for a tip on the bill, I left them the tip to pay a living wage to their workers. Left a bad taste in my mouth, and not because of the food.

Mark Wilber

Great food and nice atmosphere. This place is a true Seattle icon

Tina Sharma

The ambience and light music makes me feel really nice at this place. Since the space is small and tables are quite close, it makes the place very loud. The specialities such as the annapurna curry and the himalayan curry are worth trying. We tried the one unique style Nepalese bread, and I didn't like it much so wpuld not recommend it. Can't remember what it's called.

Nishant Chandra

Great food and service. Staff was polite and helpful.

Matt Schemmer

Awesome service, insanely good food. Best place I visited during my weekend in Seattle!

Darrell John

Delicious Tibetan/middle Eastern style cuisine

Waldo Waldron-Ramsey

Loved the cozy setting. Popular at dinner time. And they have a vegetarian selection. If I remember correctly, some of the meat meals can be made vegetarian as well. Oh, they charge a "Service Fee", which is 15 percent off the cost of the meal; so it's a "Tip".

Dustin Keefe

Have not had a bad dish yet.

Julia Hustler

I liked the ambiance more than the food. Quaint underground restaurant with a gigantic menu. I'll definitely go back because there's so much to choose from. Quality of everything was good, just lacked salt and a little too spicy for "medium". Fast service and attentive staff.

Joris Vermeiren

Nice Hymalayan food. Deliciously spiced.

Shane Schmidt

I love this place. The food here is better than the actual fool in Nepal! You will smell it 1/2 block away. Go in walk down the stairs and order any of thier specials and you won't be disappointed. I love this place.

Kapil Agarwal

Very tasty food, have been here many times and will come again very soon.

Gal Amir

This place has an amazing rating, but food is just meh. Nothing special, very western. I’ve been to manyyyy Indian restaurant and this is not the best. They have a good selection, so I’ll give them that. The koftah was dry, very disappointing. The only ok think was the gyoza.

Eric Peters

This is by far the best Indian/Nepalese food you can get in Seattle.

Draven Loomis

Best hands down. It's like a dream.

Sachin Shinde

Great food and good service. Would recommend getting paneer Naan and chicken tikka masala.

Katie Norris

The most underrated restaurant in Seattle. It’s easy to walk past as it’s underneath a shop on Broadway, but when you walk downstairs you’re greeted with a bevy of cozy smells. It’s definitely a small restaurant and you’ll be sitting nearly on top of the table next to you, but it’s intimate without getting too loud. I always make sure to get the Naan bread and chicken masala; perfect for dipping. You will leave full, so this is the perfect winter restaurant. The food can get spicy, so just ensure you double check the spice level so you enjoy!

Josh

The owner called me and tried to explain why I was wrong. I told him I would not be back. First time eating here. I ordered the chicken Marsala as recommended. What I got was several aged chicken chunks in an overly-sweet coconut broth. I think they added sugar to it. It was disgusting, and it was disgusting at a 20 dollar price point. Nothing else was offered, just rice and sauce.

G Colburn

The best Indian and Tibetan food I've had outside of India. The veggie and vegan options are well marked. Definitely a busy restaurant, so food takes a while. It's worth the wait though. I've never been a big fan of their mixed drinks... beer or wine is the way to go.

Raj Kummar Kandaswamy

The food is excellent. Go with mild if you want medium spicy. The menu has very good options for vegetarian and meat lovers. I love their lamb entree and Annapurna chicken curry. Also the food is less oily

Ian Gorton

First time and very impressive. Curries were complex, not overly spicy but fabo flavors. And dont miss the momos. New fave Indian and Nepalese restaurant in town.

Chris Fred

Hands down, the best Indian/Nepalese cuisine in Seattle. Amazing, cozy atmosphere, great drinks & stellar dishes.

John G

The Mediterranean food is really good. I prefer the chicken gyro. The restaurant is just a few store fronts to the Capital Hill Link station. The First Hill line is also very close. Another big plus is that they have bathrooms for customers.

Whitney Kobey

Service wasn't awesome but the food made up for it.

Jose Mata

Lots of gluten free and vegan options. The food was delicious. And the staff was friendly. Adding to my list of Seattle favorites.

Maria Zayra Lim

Authentic Tibetan/Nepalese food. Servings are just the right size. Their Chai tea is the best!

Code Alpha

This place is one of the most unique dining experiences I've had in Seattle. It is located in the basement of a bar and feels as cozy as they come. Note that I didn't use the word fancy. Its fancy in its own right, but cozy is a much better word. The wait staff is extremely attentive and the food is wonderful, but again very unique. I had a sort of curry made out of fermented mustard seeds and have never had anything else I can compare to it. It was delicous... just very unusual. Give it a shot and be able to tell your friends you've eaten Himalayan cuisine!

Lexington Tredway

Super good food. The place has a cool atmosphere. There will always be a wait around dinner time, especially on the weekends but you can wait at their bar upstairs and order a drink so you don’t have to wait in the cold or the small hallway. Worth it! I’d go and try their stuff if you have not.

Kristin Brown

Face pace but very attentive staff. Even for takeout orders!

Brian LaCourse

As you walk into the building off of Broadway, the smells of the kitchen welcome you and lead you downstairs where you will find the decor equally as warm and interesting. It is hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. We enjoyed the crispy lamb sticks, Annapurna curry with lamb, chicken and spinach momo, and garlic naan. At a small table for two, I was worried everything would come out and be placed tightly on the table, but it all came out with perfect timing. The food was super good, and the staff really nice. It made for a great date night!

Jennifer Lyman

Wonderful food with a lot of vegan options.

Nicholas S

Small portions, not enough chicken. I like spicy and ordered a 2 out of 3 spice rating. There was no spice at all, in fact it was more sweet than spicy. Wasn’t the worst Indian food I’ve had but definitely far from the best Indian food I’ve had. Won’t be back again.

Jerome Sharp

Super nice food, incredibly tasty. The food was fresh, properly prepared that served fast & hot. We highly recommend it.

Kati Maria

Delicious Indian food with welcoming atmosphere.

Grace Porter

Two dishes were delicious, but my daughter's meal was missing all flavor. It was disappointing, but not something that will keep us from coming back.

Han Yong Wunrow

Spinach Momo is a must! The portions at first look small, but one entre per person is filling!

Chris Pitts

Ok, a lot of my friends really like Annapurna, I have yet to order anything I've loved here. It's more on the expensive side for an Indian restaurant, the atmosphere is cave-like and claustrophobic. I've always had a good experience here but there are plenty of better Indian places in Seattle.

permaherbavet

The last time I ate there the food was a little disappointing. It had been awhile, but I've always loved this place. And I've had many good experiences before. The atmosphere is great and I've always considered it one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle.

Zach Wurtz

Since they stopped distributing Kingfisher beer in the US, this is one of the only places you can get a pint. Stop in at happy hour for the cast iron Tandoori chicken to pair perfectly with your Kingfisher.

Kunal Sagar

Loved the ambiance and the food wasn't bad either. The staff was friendly. The naans are super big enough for 2 people. Momos are a must try.

Seth Jones

Best curry I've ever had!

YAGYA DATT

Good food

Manoj

This is authentic Nepali restaurant in Seattle it’s going to be little different than Indian taste. But both taste well. I will say give a try you are going to love Nepali food and dishes as I did. Food is really delicious, I was on trip to Seattle from Dallas was referred by my wife as she has been regular before she moved to Dallas. It’s authentic test of Nepal. Most try choila, Nepali khana and bhojan and sekuwa. After long time my taste bud got taste of kashi ko masu( goat meat). It was really great experience. Taste was better than any authentic dish that I had back home. Most of so called Nepali restaurant have indian cook this is where they fail to match the taste but this one was great taste with nice server to help they are always busy yet they make sure everyone gets attention.

Jenny Parawan

Some of the best food you can find in town!! Everything is perfectly spiced and delicious and the service is fantastic.

Raviish Gupta

Good food, but a little on expensive side. But definitely good food. Very nice staff. They food has authentic taste. I even like the bar special Nepali drinks options.

Kelly Sandoval

Best Indian food in town. Great staff, too.

Christy Siuda

This was one of my favourite restaurants, I'm really bummed to have to say this. They forgot our order even though the waitress assured us 3 times it was coming. Then there was a rock, which I'm assuming was the Tandoor, in my naan. When we told the waiter, he took it away and then later tried to say we were lying when we asked that the naan be removed from the bill. The manager then claimed we were trying to lower the bill because we didn't have the money. I'm very disappointed, I cannot go here again after being so blatantly insulted.

Alexandra Rowell

Always great service and great food! The restaurant is in a basement and the tables are intimate. Really love their cocktails, and my group always stops at the yeti bar upstairs (ground level) for a drink first - that's an even better option if you're waiting for a table downstairs.

dasaradh attuluri

Horrible taste and quality. Don't expect even average Indian food here.

Jonathan Padin

Best food I've had in all my vacation here in Washington!!

Beto Luna

Food was OK, not the best tho.... It was a little too pricey for the (small) portion AND what’s the “service charge” on the bill about? I gave tip anyway... Won’t be back again.

kandhar kurhade

Really good Indian/Nepalese food however it does not have a traditional Indian Flavor. This place has more of a western culture with Indian/ Nepalese feel to it. I would suggest this place if you are in the mood to explore food options but don’t go to this place expecting Indian flavor. The ambience is really lovely.

Himanshu Srivastava

Okayish food. Drinks Are good. Place little loud due to being in basement

Deejay Adi

Nepali food, is good in almost all restaurants. Here its no different. The flavors are ok but I just LOVE the vibe of this place. Its always packed with folks of all nationalities enjoying food of my people. But we don’t dine out for vibe solely. I had a question so I called and person on the other end whose voice I recognized as they waited on us, just greeted with a annoyed “hello” and I know our folks can be a little rude but we weren’t really attended to and waiter seemed annoyed that we weren’t sure of what we wanted immediately. We ordered a bunch of stuff but the momo was severely disappointing. They used green dough for wrapper, and sadly din tai fungs veggie dumplings taste better. It’s certainly overpriced but it’s Seattle so no shock there. The chow mein was a disappointment like the momo but everything else and the lassi was good.

kevin julius

I can only give 3 stars on this visit.. I give the food 5 stars the food is amazing, fresh just wonderful!! The reason for the 3 stars is our server, was less than happy to serve us, as if we were intruding on his using his cell phone, while taking our order while on his phone, and made himself unavailable to us I had to get up and refill my own water, He did not bother to come and ask if everything was ok, or ask if we needed anything more, which we did, he just gave us bill as to rush us out so he could continue on his phone call, mind you we were the only people in the restaurant. THE FOOD IS JUST AMAZING. Please don't let this post stop you from dining here! I am telling you food is wonderful and amazing.. this is the 10th time I have been here and will continue to do so. I am sure our server was just having a bad day or off day.. But seriously, Dude you work on tips, and let me tell you, Your lucky for the tip you recieved, I was not going to leave a dime, but that is not who I am.. So try a little bit harder next time.. You work in a wonderful place to eat.. I have to say again the FOOD IS AMAZING!!

Jim McAvoy

I had the chicken tikka sagg, the appetizers were my favorite though cauliflower manchurian . Great ambience and my dates chicken masala was incredible

roxanne swan

Great place, but if you have food allergies or dietary restrictions be careful! A lot of items are listed as vegan, but the sauces they come with are not. The staff is great, but they have to understand what veganism is before they have the word vegan on the menu.

Chris Lyon

Consistently amazing food and service.

Michael E

While expensive for the quality, they have now started charging 15% service fee "to be distributed as wages and benefits", which is an odd phrasing for tips, which are neither wages nor benefits..

Andy

The veggie kofta was insanely delicious. Service is fine. Food was super yummy

Santhosh Krishnamoorthy

Food was good. The maharaja samosa was absolutely delicious. The biryani w as s mildly spiced ... a little too mild for my palette. One thing that we didn't like was the service and the place was poorly lit. Service was extremely slow. Would recommend to try. If you are there before 6.30 PM you might get a table, but be prepared for the extremely slow service.

Laura Casaletto

Loved the food

Geordie Grey

If you haven't been to Annapurna yet, I envy you. Located just steps away from the Cap Hill Light Rail station, it's a cozy bustling oasis, welcoming all with heady spices, tantalizing flavors and fast and friendly service. Its expansive menu and wealth of vegetarian and carnivore options have led to it becoming a bi-weekly staple for our group.

Bob Snob

Really good food but the space is dark and the tables are really tightly packed. I felt like I was part of neighboring tables' conversations and that I was constantly having to move to let people by. Plus side is very fast take out service!

Paul Keister

Spectacular! Great food, great ambiance, great price!

Rik Kern

This place was really good. It's a dimly lit restaurant downstairs. I knew it had to be pretty good because the joint was packed out the door with quite a waiting list. I put my name on the list and went to the bar which is upstairs. Now This place gets nuts. So busy. Tough to get drinks or anything for that matter. But it's a decent place to pass the time to eat downs stairs, because to honest it was really impressive. I had the house name curry with chicken. It was quite vibrant in my mouth. The flavor was much like a Tikka masala but with what tasted to me me like smoked paprika. You put that bad boy on some basmati rice and you are set. Delightful and worth the wait and price.

Saswati Patra

One of the good indian/nepali restaurants near Seattle The restaurant is located just next to capital hill station. The dining area is not so big, and it's generally occupied so be ready to wait for at least 10 to 15 minutes however the service and food is awesome.

Rahul Warrier

Expect long wait times for the restaurant but they let you sit at the bar and order drinks and appetizers while you wait so not too bad. Food is delicious and healthy. Moktuk is my favorite.

Brandon W

Expensive and tasted terrible. Don't go

Ravi Bhankharia

Best food I've had in Seattle

Chad Sheffield

Kinda pricey but they have some unique dishes. Don't miss the chow chow -- a noodle dish.

Siqin Liu

Well...I guess the food is pretty authentic. Although I don't like any of the tastes... my boyfriend loves them very much, saying it tastes the same like the food he had in Nepal. Service is good. Environment could be described as both cozy and crowded...

Mike

Fantastic Indian food in a cozy joint. Wide selection and prompt service with reasonable prices.

David Mathieson

Awesome. Great beer. Authentic Indian food. In and out in 60 minute. Attentive servers.

Reb Cha

Paid $24 for literally 3 pieces of Goat meat, which was horrible and the curry was really bad. Chicken momo was ok. Not a good place for authentic south asian food.

Eileen M

It's nice and cute but for that price I've had way better.

Pauk Hickey

Outstanding food, excellent service. When you arrive to a house full of a mix of locals and tourists, with a waiting time for a table ‘tis a hint that its good! We waited and were rewarded handsomely....

Gregory Colucci

The lamb was really fresh. Flavors were great! Friendly place

Shresta S Rao

The momos are really delicious. The Jaipur curry that we ordered was a little too sweet. The ambience is fun and loud. They have a Nepalese touch to the decor. The soup dumplings was not how we expected, it was just bland and not flavourful at all. The service staff is sweet. The place is a little too small. One time visit.

Roy Samson

Superb place really a tucked away gem it's really nice inside and the food here is great portion size is perfect and not super expensive

Summer Phillips

Best Indian restaurant in Seattle. Definitely order things medium or spicy. Mild/level 1 spicy is not as good. It does get kind of loud in there because it’s echoey but the decor and ambiance is super cute. Highly recommend the momos, chicken tikka masala, and palak paneer

Rohit Kaul

Nepali food done right! The daal, goat and chicken all reminded me of home cooked meals.

Liz !

Very good food in a little basement restaurant. The staff are a little strange, but very attentive. Be careful if you order tea--most are overstuffed and therefore oversteep, and you're left with a bitter mess.

Kyle Murphy

Nice ambiance. I've enjoyed going here over the last few years. But, the last couple times have been an abberation from the past good quality. We ordered cocktails, but the bartender clearly forgot to add the vodka. When I asked about a replacement, the waiter said he would be right back and them avoided our table the rest of the night (quite awhile). So, I had a $9 juice. The food had decent flavor but small portions. I probably won't be back for awhile after my last few not-so-good visits.

Marissa Kapfhammer

Wonderful Seattle gem, that is definitely not a secret

Jay Bergeron

Watery curry with little flavor. 3 tiny pieces of chicken for a bowl of vindaloo. Bland paneer naan. Took 50 mins for entrees to come out.

Melanie Drouhard

This might be the best Indian food I have ever had in my life.

Jerry Lohr

Food was delicious, although I think they've turned down the heat for the Seattle palate. Menu is Nepalese-North Indian-Tibetan. Basement location. Had the Shahi Bhojan to sample a variety of dishes and was very pleased. Spinach MoMo appetizer came late and was comped. It was wonderful even at the end of the meal. Dinner companion loved her house specialty goat dish. Definitely worth a return visit.

Dudley McFadden

Upon stepping off the Broadway streetcar you immediately detect the wonderful aroma of curry. It's from Annapurna. That's what drew me inside. I enjoyed a curry with fish and a glass of wine. Perfect dinner. Bustling, pleasantly dimly-lit decor. Wonderful service! Right next to the Link light rail station, by the way.

Jayne Stevens

My granddaughter took me to Annapurna Cafe for dinner tonight and I'm so happy she did. The food was very good, as was the service. I never ate Indian food before - now I know what I've been missing. I certainly will be back!

Arvind Arikatla

Seems like the popular dishes are the ones they do right. Lamb dish was a bit over cooked and portions were also small for the price.

Julie Kilpatrick

Excellent food and service?

Bernie Macias

This place is on the beaten path but hidden. If your in the mood for Nepalese and indan food the place is great. Order everything in one go as waiter will not be back very often. They do server you fast when you ask for a drink or side once they get to you.

Jebodiah Smith

Super hot flames

cool and interesting

This restaurant is underground which gives it a really unique atmosphere. The food is fantastic, the waitstaff is great, and the upstairs bar is the perfect place to have a frozen cocktail while you wait for a table. Expect a 20 minute wait during busy times.

Hannah Howard

Always so good at Annapurna! And such great staff, very responsive (even when the extra fan broke and we wanted to move they moved us strait away with no issues and we're super professional). Will always come here when we want Nepalese food ❤️

M. T

The worst Nepalese restaurant I ever tried. I ordered their specialty dishes lamb, chicken, asparagus as entrée, all the foods are just sooooo salty and not flavorful at all. I had to drink a lot of water. I also ordered calamari as appetizer, and the calamari seemed being frozen for years and tasted like leather. I really don't know how they could get high reviews. The food is absolutely horrible. Moreover, they didn't update their menu, the price they charged was higher than what's on the menu.

Rohit Chaudhary

Lhasa curry and momos were both delicious

Tyler Deming

A little pricey for the portion size they give you, but very delicious. Conveniently located next to call Anderson park if you want to stroll while you wait

John Nazario

Their lamb dish was really good, but their chicken dish was a little on the bland side. The Naan was a little undercooked.

Christina Y

Good for a quick dinner before a night out. They are strict about not seating you until your entire group is there. The restaurant is downstairs, but you can get drinks and apps at the Yeti bar upstairs while you wait for your group.

Shivani Pant

Very friendly staff and good food. The momos, naan, chana masala and daal were great. We had to wait for 30 min to get seats at the diner but there was space at the bar to wait where we could order drinks.

Im a Kat

The SMELLS outside alone deserve 5 stars. My favorite food spot on the hill. No pretension, just good food and atmosphere.

Beth Riley

Delicious and fast Nepalese restaurant. Fantastic selection of foods for both vegetarian and non veg alike.

Carolyn Davis

The lamb curry was delicious! 2 stars was perfect for me. Chai tea was extra special, not overly sweet and with a smoky flavor. We arrived early, so waiting was not a concern. Fast, friendly service, too.

Zachary Darmon

I’m from Chicago and luckily found this gem. So good, so much flavor, carry’s out perfectly

Jeremy Fredricks

Atmosphere: the lighting was intimate (i.e. very dim), but the area itself was pretty crowded with customers and loud. This combination confused me as to what they were trying to achieve with their setup. The walls were decorated with candid photos of, presumably, Nepal. Food: I ordered vegetarian, lamb, fish curries, and a side of garlic naan with friends. The food was fantastic, each curry being distinct, mildly spicy, and delicious. They let you choose the spiciness of the curries as well. I thought the serving size was a bit small initially, but these four dishes ended up being quite the meal. The curries are very rich. Pricing: Our meal cost about $20 per person, including the tip. I would say this price is reasonable for such a place in downtown Seattle for dinner. Overall: I would come again if I wanted to eat Indian-esque curry. And again, I would probably come with friends as that seemed like the intended audience given the table layout.

Jeanette Carriveau

The food was very good but the place was crazy busy on a Saturday night. I would go again but not on the weekend.

Tamella Hajiyeva

Every time i visit Seattle this is a must place to go. They have many amazing items on their menu but Malai kofta is so addictive . Place is normally packed so plan on waiting. Highly recommended!

Jessica Hall

More air conditioning please

Yaier Ron-Rubinstein

Post pride tesolution. Set with my boyfriend. Waiting time, 5 min. Service A+ Dishes, A+ Dessert, A+ Yumm!

yuvika rajrana

The food was good but not authentic. The part I didn't like much was that there is no ventilation. Your clothes end up smelling bad after a meal and the smell doesnt go away for days. Moreover, they should improve there cocktails, which are more like mocktails with only few drops of alcohol. Overall my experience was okay.

Heidi McCaffray

Went with four other people. All ordered different items yet there was very little variation in taste and presentation.

Kim Kiefer

Great food, good sized serving, very nice staff. Will eat there again!

Luke Christy

Very cozy, intimate setting. Service was good, and the food was very good.

Edwina Duenas

I enjoyed the Annapurna chicken curry which was delicious, with just the right amount of heat at level 2 and had very tender chicken. We tried the spinach momo dumplings which were just OK. If you share an entree, keep in mind that they automatically add 15% gratuity/service charge to your bill. They were very busy on a Saturday night, but we only had to wait about 15 minutes for our table.

Dhiral Chheda

Nice quaint place and delicious food. A short wait but it was well worth it! Spinach Momos, wow

alex barmine

BEST FOOD EVR. wow. 2nd visit to Seattle, 3rd time getting this food. First delivery, was extraordinary. Second, in restaurant, amazing atmosphere, great for a friends or a date. Third time was in a rush and got pickup, had to save the food for a day, and still wow. If you like this style of food then this is a sure bet. They could learn from the sushi people how to wrap a to-go meal so it stays real tight. 1000000/10 overall.

Meheresh Yeditha

Amazing food! I recommend the himalaya curry especially.

Calvin Rucker

3.5 stars now that I've tried a bunch of dishes on the menu and know what I like. Try: veg kofta, spinach momos, Tensing (chicken) momos, paneer dishes, tofu with vegetables (chinese style sauce so try with rice), Himalayan curry, chai (refills are half the price, sugar is already added), dal bhat thali, naan Avoid: biryanis! A few reviewers below have complained about sanitation/ roaches but fortunately have not experienced any of that here in the last three years that I've frequented Annapurna.

Cody Thompson

Great mood, stellar food. 3 Stars can burn through your plate.

Rishabh Dayani

This is a Nepalese place and not an Indian restaurant so if you are going here to expect good Indian food, be ready to be disappointed. They even got the garlic naan wrong! Ordered: Sultan Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala and Cauliflower curry. 1 for Ambience, 1 for the service, -0.5 for charging for pickle and 0 for the food.

Lenny Urbanowski

Probably my favorite restaurant in Capitol Hill. The staff is extremely warm, friendly, and competent. The food is incredible. I've tried most of the lamb and chicken dishes and they are great. The samosas are probably the best I've had.

Mark Miller

A 3/5 on service, but a 7/5 on food. This is hands down the best restaurant I have ever eaten at. It is my go to place to take visitors and for special occasions.

Darach Beirne

Great atmosphere, food good

chance dog

Love this place! Definitely the best Indian/Nepali food in the area

Michael de Lange

You can wait in the bar upstairs during long waits.

Matt Martin

The food was delicious, but it came out in a weird order and took quite a while for all the food to show up. The waitress realized it and told us she gave us a discount while we were still waiting.

Ramen Yamamoto

Wanted to like it, but didn’t appreciate the manager arguing with us about our food “not being burned” while attempting to smell it first by sticking his nose down to our food. Awkward. It was literally charred.. Poor girls working there were sweet as can be but the men were so entitled and really not interested in helping us. Overpriced and very over rated for capital Hill. SO much good food in this city, but this place was underwhelming enough to never go back and leave a review. Bummer.

Fenrir

Good food. It's a bit toasty under ground though. 5/5 in the winter

Joseph Peters-Mathews

Annapurna is good food, but I do have to say its exhaust smells better. Having been to Annapurna a number of times, I will continue to do so, but the last few times have been disappointed with the service and the food. While chicken tikka masala is a broad category for dishes, it has been far outside what usually falls within the categorizations. They invite you to have beyond standard Indian American food, which is good. The lamb is spectacular in any dish. Eat here! Just don't let the smells outside get your hopes higher than necessary.

Mia Johnson

Fun atmosphere but the food is honestly not that good for the price.

Susan Jacobi

Excellent service! Wonderful food! They have spicy and mild food. The Curry and Chicken Marsala was great!

Haven Barnes

The food is great, the service not so much.

Harry Kitt

Traditional offerings - Tibetan, Indian and Nepalese. A holiday gathering: my important girl, my son and I. Annapurna curry for her. Spicy Chicken Vindaloo for me. Hers was mild and mine ... well, you know. I ordered soup - Sipen Luk Tentuk. I was told it is really, really, really spicy hot. The steamy soup aroma went into my sinuses and wow! The noodles are all I could handle at the restaurant. The soup came home for a nice steak marinade. Still very hot, though.

Kahealani alexander

Underground quaint and authentic location with delicious food.

Sarita Bhandari

I have been to this restaurant few times. My last two visits were very disappointing. They don’t stay open during the hours as advertised on their entrance door and online. On one occasion, I had arrived to the restaurant 25 minutes before their closing time, but they turned me away saying their kitchen is closed. Today after few weeks, I decided to give them another try. This time, I called them to make sure that they were open. I was told by an employee that they are open so I notified them that I was on the way. When I arrived at the restaurant 40 minutes before their closing time, their doors were closed so I called them but I was told that they decided to close early. The employee on the phone was very rude. Very bad customer service.

The space is kind of hidden under the Yeti bar upstairs, but down the narrow stairwell is some of the tastiest curry in Seattle. Delicious cocktails and an excellent beer list as well as excellent sample platters and large portions of entrees. Cozy booths make for an awesome date night location.

Delicious Indian Nepali Tibetan dishes. Good service

I've been to Annapurna around 3x/year for the last four years or so, and have had poor experiences the last two visits. I probably won't give it a third chance. It feels very much like the ownership of the restaurant has changed, or at least management has taken a new direction. The cocktail I ordered was disappointingly weak, and the service was a little poor. The naan doesn't come with plum or mint dipping sauces anymore (I believe it used to). This year they also added an automatic 15% gratuity to each check, which I tend to think disincentivizes good services and shifts the burden of paying wages from the restaurant onto the customer.

This place offers one of the best Nepalese and Indian food in town. First off, if you are gonna go here make sure you have plenty of time to spend waiting for the food. The wait time is kind of long here compared to similar places. Because of that I am more trusting of this place to make delightful, healthy food. The place is kind of tiny, but cozy. This is the place where I found out their momos (tibetan dumplings they serve) can be used to bribe me into doing anything. Talking of which, back in 2010 when I first visited this place, they used to serve the momos with three sauces based on: tomato, peanut, and tamarind. Now they have replaced the tamarind one with some green sauce (pudina sauce I think) which does not complement the momos at all. Owner, if you are reading this, please restore the momo sauces to their original glory. Apart from the momos, you will find here some great items like garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, samosa chat, and lamb entrees.

Worst samosas ever... $4 for the worst samosas you will ever have. Actually just for that...it's worth going to see how bad a $4 can taste.

Yummy. Tikka masala

Terrible experience. Idly was too thick. Sambhar had no flavor. Chicken bites were neither crispy nor flavorful. And momos were the worst!! Disappointed

Tasty place so far and good service. It can get busy so try to get in before the rush. This is only a review after one visit and I'm not a Capitol Hill regular, so good luck everyone!

Best Indian cuisine in Seattle ........

Their food is SPICY don't go over 2 stars (or even 1) if you can't stand spicy food. Other than that the food there is great! Great menu selection and friendly staff

It's a cozy setup. The drinks at the bar were not great. Food, however, was flavorful, especially the Paneer Naan and Himalayan curry.

Evan Anderson

Wide variety of vegan, vegetarian, and meat dishes. Also labeled for gluten-free. The Spinach Momo is particularly good!

Outstanding Nepalese and Indian food, cool, dim, well decorated atmosphere in the basement. Almost anything you order from the large menu will be great

This is my favorite curry place in Seattle and for good reason. As if the smell permeating the air in the surrounding blocks dont sell you then the flavors will. Spices are imported and the ambiance is warm and inviting. As common as it sounds the chicken masala (not tikka) is probably the best thing I've put in my face. I wish I could bathe in this curry and by some strike of luck sweat it out like a gluttonous heathen. I'd lose all my friends but it would be worth it to be able to consume an endless supply of this sauce. If this is not enough reason to go to dinner here right now then I'm portraying this establishment poorly. Everything I've had has been amazing. If you're vegan, they have you covered. You want lamb stuffed naan, they got you on lock. Spinach momo's? Yes, and order these for the love of all that's holy and I'm not religious by any account of the word. If you've never been here, do yourself a favor and go. If you hate it, you should think of yourself less of a human and more an animal.
