I've passed back & forth Vivify many times. Today I was hungry and decided to try their burger. I got the "Viv" burger. It had caramelized onion w/fontana cheese, MOJO sauce (mayo-mustard-spice mix) and lettuce onions, and pickles. The bun was nice & soft and the burger was comforting. For me personally, the burger patty was too salty. I may go back and order an my burger w/no (or half) seasoning. I found it to be a bit overpriced. The service was prompt, though it should be noted that I was there around 1:30 p.m on a Saturday.

I love this place. I come all the time and I'm never disappointed. The staff is friendly and courteous. A staff member wouldn't let me clear my own trash today. Not necessary at this kind of counter service place but very appreciated. Food was excellent as usual.

I went in today around noon. I got a all american lunch special for $8. I feel this is a good honest price. At the moment a #2 at wendys is around $9. The music was of a slightly upbeat jungle type. Decor is sparse, and i really like that. The wooden floors, and brick building provide a relaxed feeling. The fries are quite good. I would say they are quite like 5 guys. A fresh handcut medium cooked lightly salted fry. Crispy, but not so crispy that its been burnt to hell. Now to the burger. It is a very well done simple burger. There is great value in that. The beef is fresh. The condiments are done tastefully. I say it is definetly worth trying.

Placed a take out order and drank a beer while I waited. Burgers were bland, milk for my youngest was spoiled, gave me another order of fries instead of an order of fries and tots. Order was verbally verified by server. Place was not busy. Too expensive and poor quality food/drink. I support local when warranted but steer clear of this place.

Small inside seating area with a nice little rooftop bar. You aren't getting views of downtown fredericksburg here as the rooftop is slightly sheltered, but the bartenders upstairs are always nice and willing to help out. A fairly good selection of craft beer for such a small bar. Food is just okay. Definitely more of a happy hour beer or cocktail place in my opinion

Small place for burgers and small plates. I had the vegetarian burger made of quinoa, mushrooms and red beans. Looked more like a mashed quinoa with pieces of all the other ingredients. Fries were good. Vanilla shake was good. They did not have chicken to make the kids meal. Service was good, very friendly and patience.

No ambiance to speak of and not a lot of seating, but the burgers were satisfying and it's right in downtown Fredericksburg, so great for a stroll after eating. The fountain Coke was better from the separate little bar than from the Coke dispenser itself. I was allowed to replace. As readers of my reviews know, I am particular about the caliber of Cokes, and perennially annoyed at the lack of attention of eatery managers to the balance between syrup and carbonated water...as well as wondering when the lines have been cleaned or replaced. Few establishments seem to really care about the caliber of fountain Coke they serve.

Honestly the burger was pretty good. The service however, is incredibly disorganized and it seemed like no one knew what they were supposed to do. The bar tender was moving chairs around and bumping the chair into chairs customers are sitting in. She did not apologize and just kept going!

not the greatest experience that i have had here for my first time, despite the fact that the staff were friendly and helpful but im not sure if i will come back, the burger was ok but nothing too special, the fries were salty but reasonable, the only complaint that i have had was the amount of fruit flies that were at our table, there was like 4 fruit flies and even a bee which made me feel uncomfortable, i dont know if i will come back for this purpose.

Very few plant based options. Bartender kept trying to promote their meat menu items and did not take a hint. Good drinks but I won't return. They got rid of a great item (bean burger) for subpar options, and don't even have a Beyond or Impossible burger, which you can get at a number of other local burger places/bars.

Very overpriced food but that’s what you get in downtown Fredericksburg these days. I personally think they have some of the best burgers in the area Wednesday’s are 3 dollar burger nights so I would go then for a much better deal. I also recommend getting a milkshake, and they can spike them which is interesting. There’s a bar inside down stairs and in the rooftop. The rooftop bar area has a cool atmosphere but it gets HOT in the summer so choose wisely.

Pretty expensive burgers that are just OK. An additional charge for fries makes it too expensive. There's no denying that the atmosphere is good, the fries are tasty, and the burgers are burgers. However, Vivify's specialty burgers end up tasting like there's way too much on the bun. Definitely more of a sandwich than a burger. Perhaps this is a good thing. For me, it's not what I was expecting.

Really good burgers here. If you're in the mood for a burger and you're downtown shopping, this is a pretty good spot to stop if you're not trying to go very far. Haven't been disappointed one time with my burgers, and the staff are easy going but still very helpful if you need anything. Their fries leave much to be desired, they just aren't that great. It's downtown, so it's in a cool location close to shopping and has street parking right out front, making it easy access.

A great atmosphere indoor or outdoor (outdoor seating is on the roof). One of the best burger joints in town. If you want a solid burger you won't be disappointed! Most similar to 5 guys but less greasy.

Always something new, different, unique and flavorful at Vivify. The shaved steak sliders (accompanied by the salsa) and fries were delicious and the single scoop chocolate sundae for dessert was the perfect ending .. all for Restaurant Week and $10.18. Superb job !

This is a no frills burger joint. The price is very reasonable especially considering the quality of the burger. It's not the best burger I've had, but it is good enough that I'm already planning a second trip. Good burger great price.

Vivify is one of the best burger joints in the DC area. The burgers, fries, tots (omg the tots...) and all other food is great and the atmosphere is fun and unique too. It’s also one of the best spots for the bar crowd as they have an amazing rooftop bar and the downstairs bar is really fun too. I also have to give a shout out to management, especially Abby, for always being so welcoming and on top of things. Emily, one of the bartenders, is also top notch. Highly recommended!

If you like rare, FRESH tasting red meat, this is the place to get an awesome burger for a great price. Also are cocktail selection is extremely unique and very tasty!

The atmosphere was great, as were the employees, but the food left a lot to be desired. The burgers and fries were bland, which was surprising, since the burger I got came with a fried egg and pork belly. I was left feeling disappointed, and didn't finish all of my food. The price certainly does not reflect the product. I will say that the milkshakes are good, especially if you get them with booze. I've been to similar restaurants before and this seems like just another uninspiring burger place.

We really enjoy Vivify. Great atmosphere outside on the rooftop, excellent food. The menu is a little confusing until you're been there a few times. It's not labeled well and overwhelming to parse with a line behind you. It can also take a bit to get your food. But it's tasty and everyone is friendly. Just look up the menu online and be prepared to wait a few!

The Rice bowl for almost $10 was terrible the cilantro wasnt even cut up and the orange chicken was gross, I didnt want to eat after a few bites. It would have been better being teryaki chicken instead, also the person taking our order was'nt the nicest, giving us mean looks and not being nice. Sorry this is a 1 star, not going back.

Best burger and sandwiches I’ve ever had. And I’m a knit picking foodie. Absolutely delicious. The ONLY issue I have with the joint is it is uncomfortably drafty in the winter. Granted it’s been consistently in the teens but it’s an issue I feel needs to be remedied. (Not the staffs fault)

Great location. Some of the food is okay but the "tomato jam" on the veggie burger is more like whole cooked tomatoes that makes your burger three times to big to fit in your mouth. They also put Brown avacado on my bun, like I would miss that while scraping the mounds of hot tomatoes off the other side of the bun. Everything else is okay. I like that they make their fries, but I prefer mine thicker. The milkshakes are okay but I was disappointed to find out they use powdered chocolate. Makes me wonder what the other shakes are made with. They also have let the cleanliness slide since they opened. The tables are always sticky and the main room has a dirty restaurant kitchen smell. Seems like they need a good steam clean in the kitchen and thorough wipe down of all surfaces, including the menus. Probably will take them out of my rotation for a while.

My husband got the tiniest, worst tasting, most overcooked burger ever. I got a rice bowl and they said my modifications would be fine. No where does it say that sweet and sour sauce comes on EVERY meat choice, only says sweet and sour pork. I got grilled chicken. Everything was coated in the horrible tasting sauce. I ate the chicken out and threw the rest away because you couldn't taste anything over the sauce. Fries were mushy and bland. Don't waste your money or your time.

The atmosphere is awesome! I really found that to be worth the visit. The burger... meh. Almost like what I could do on my own grill, and I don't mean that to be degrading, but $40 for a few meals and the burgers were tiny patties. Still, worth a visit.

The environment here is fun but the food is simply overpriced and underwhelming. I've talked to other friends and they say the same thing. If the prices were lower than the food would be worth it, otherwise they should supply better quantity and quality. That's my two cents. We only go back for an occasional milkshake because those are good and the space here is cool.

There is a major need for improvement. My mom couldn't even finish her pork belly sliders they were so poorly prepared. The only thing worth going for at the moment is the fries. My burger was subpar and poorly prepared. the meat was undercooked and the fixings were not to a typical standard.

SERVICE is wonderful, Drinks have real alcohol in them! Burgers, fries and shake is good BUT not $15 good. Not even $8 good. If guest are in town, I recommend sitting in the roof top seating. Summary: chic ambiance classic menu for downtown prices.

sticky table top, "hand cut" fries were shoestring fries, huge amount, for $4 ok, but should offer a smaller order, especially as the fries were not that good. By the time you can get to the bottom of the basket they are all cold and wilted. Burger was ok, not Five guys ok, but ok. Bun compressed to nothing and was eating a meat hunk between two wafers. Ambiance in the afternoon was a deserted feeling. Staff was attendant, but had one napkin, quickly used up, and no place to get another in this "self service" scenario. Also, no flatwear, alas, finger food. I got the burger for the wednesday special, paying full price would have been horrible.

Semi-friendly service, cramped seating, more expensive than it should be(*) is actually met fairly well with genuinely delicious food, served fresh, hot and quick. I got the mushroom burger, my litmus for a burger place. Really excellent. Well seasoned beef patty cooked perfectly with a solid portion of a fresh mushroom blend. The homemade tater tots are delicious. Stay away from the sweet tea. The lemongrass is overpowering. Mine went down the drain. *The rent in this area is enormous. I get they need to survive if they want to hold that location.

Neat, local burger joint with a variety of options and awesome atmosphere. You come in and order from the counter and then your order is brought to you. Their back patio and rooftop seating is sweet and is a perfect way to enjoy the weather in Fxburg while you chow down. Their burgers are super fresh and delicious with a ton of different toppings and options to choose from. I highly recommend giving it a try while you're in the city.
