One of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time! We went here for my wife's birthday and came away feeling like we were celebrities! The restaurant staff were so kind and even wrote my wife a birthday card that came out with a gift of two scoops of (delicious) ice cream. I ordered the pork belly which was cooked perfectly: delicately crisp skin outside and tender and juicy on the inside. The wine and cocktails were delicious as well. The ambiance and location also made the evening a great success. The space as modern but still inviting. I would highly recommended this space for a romantic date night or casual dinner with a few friends. We certainly plan to go back for their happy hour deal which is amazing: $5 wine/beer/small plates in the lounge. We're also excited to try out their farm table dinner where the chef chooses the courses for you. All in all, we've found our new go-to spot on King Street.
This is one of our favorite spots in Old Town. Great vibe and interesting cocktails. I had a strawberry infused drink with Laphroaig and simple syrup with mint. Surprisingly delicious and smoky. The food is wonderful and the staff is attentive and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Great place. Great service. Good food. Staff went above and beyond...from offering a glass of sparkling wine for a group of 4 celebrating a retirement to calling me hours later to report a set of found keys (from one of our group as it turned out). Lovely place to go.
Nice drink list. French toast on the brunch menu was great. Bartender was friendly
Came here for restaurant week 2019. The menu was short but well executed. The chilled melon soup was reminscent of gazpacho but more of a pureed cateloupe almost. The amish chicken was tender, flavorful, and the farro underneath was also fantastic with some pickled okra that didnt taste very pickly at all. The breaded catfish was more filling than expected with a firm bacon type marmalade on top. Dessert was tasty with some elevated funnel cake and a berry custard. Service was attentive. Seems like a consistently great experience!
My husband and I celebrated his birthday at Vermilion. We got to sit upstairs, which is dimly lit and intimate. Downstairs is a little louder but has a full bar. Try a specialty cocktail. We both picked the tasting menu with wine pairing - I highly recommend this option. Everything was delicious. The waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. We let them know when we made the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. They brought out a special dessert and birthday card signed by the staff. It was a very memorable night. Reservations recommended.
This is easily the best restaurant in Old Town. The food was amazing, well thought out. The ricotta gnocchi and the white chocolate pot de creme were on point. Andrew, our server was super knowledge, nice and friendly. This will def become a place we come to often!
Diverse menu and awesome. Food was great and service equal or better. Ask to sit at Skyler’s table.
Went there a 6.30pm during "Restaurant week". Food was nicely presented. Entree portion were on the small side but very tasteful. Desert and Appetizer where missing the "wow" effect, which I thought should happen during a promotional week. Table setting has more the character of a lunch place.
Nice food and drinks. Parking limited.
Delicious food, and not a bad deal with the prix fixe.
Exquisite great food and service, a neighborhood gem.
Great trip for Restaurant Week Highly recommended for the flavors and amazing service. The staff was a well - oiled machine with the timing of food and other items. Flavors were enjoyable and unexpected. We never felt pushed out because the staff was checking on us. My family highly enjoyed it and we would happily go outside of restaurant week.

Great food and ambiance that never disappoints
Waitress was excellent; attentive and actually knew about the food on the menu and could give recommendations. All the food was presented well and tasted great!
The decor here is really awesome. I love the exposed brick behind the bar. I ordered duck wings and hush puppies both of which were really really good. I would definitely visit again if I find myself in that area!
What an amazing place for dinner.Great ambiance and delicious food..Great place for dinner date
It was fantastic, last time there didn't seem as good
They have really cut their menu down. The most of the food was good and the service was very good. No idea what is going on with their burger but that was horrible. They need to bring back their pimento spread. And the lunch box specials. $25 for a lunch combo is ridiculous.
Had perfectly prepared craft bourbon cocktails served by attentive staff and a comfortable atmosphere.
Pretty good happy hour, the bar/lounge almost always has seating during happy hour which is nice. Great beer selection. Happy hour wines are good. Happy hour food is good, but it's all fried pretty much. It would be nice if there was one or two lighter options. Only ate dinner here once, during restaurant week, but it was great. Dining room is small, but a good ambiance.
Service is a little slow but I love the hushpuppies.
Friendly staff. Great food. Good range of beer which often changes and keeps things interesting
The food is great, and the service is excellent! Our server checked whether any of us had food allergies before taking our orders to the kitchen, which has never happened to me before. The prix fixe options are very reasonable.
Priced according to the quality of the food & service which I found to be amazing! A rare find in a beautiful setting.
Love Vermillion. The bartenders are passionate, always exploring new recipes and innovating. The menu constantly changes, and they use local breweries and distilleries. If you like good cocktails, innovative drinks, or just talking to people who like talking about good drinks, you need to come here.
Service, food, and drinks were top notch. They treated us like royalty.
We sat at the chef's table upstairs, food was fantastic and drinks were phenomenal. Would highly recommend. Prices are expected of the quality you receive. The food came out great and the staff were experts in the wine/beer pairing. Recommended a wonderful sauvignon blanc to accompany my fish.
From Baltimore, there for a birthday party, nice waiter and very good punch.
Original food, perfectly served. Nice atmosphere. Excellent service. Very good cocktails. Care is taken with the food, the prep, the setting, the drinks and especially the service.
Great service. Food was ok. Some of the dishes were salty but mostly good food.
Great place. Great service. Good food. Staff went above and beyond...from offering a glass of sparkling wine for a group of 4 celebrating a retirement to calling me hours later to report a set of found keys (from one of our group as it turned out). Lovely place to go.
Fantastic food in an upscale classical atmosphere. Excellent selection of wines. Full service bar with signature cocktails.. The staff is extremely professional. Visited occasionally by politicians and celebrities. Expect to pay approximately 40/pp with drinks.
Nice food selection. Had a great birthday dinner.
We came here for brunch. The food was delicious. The service was great. We will definitely be coming back.
Excellent fine dining service. Our server really knew the menu, and explained it in such a way that I wanted to taste everything. The lamb, 2 ways, was superb. Also the ice creams where so delicious and creamy. Highly recommended this place.
Fantastic food and drinks
Great food and great service.
New to the Alexandria area from Houston, TX and in Houston there are no shortage of amazing restaurants. Thankfully I found Vermillion because other restaurants in the area have been blasé but not Vermillion. They have an amazing menu impeccable service. The GM, Jay always welcomes you and makes sure you have a great experience.
Exemplary customer service paired with a variety of unique food selections. Absolutely delicious! We had the Cornmeal-Crusted Blue Catfish, savoring every bite of Vermilion’s creative take on a southern classic. The burnt honey ice cream is a must try for desert. While it did pair well with their decadent Flourless Chocolate Cake, it truly deserves to be experienced alone. Next visit already planned, I’m looking forward to trying new mains and having the the cake as menu presents with the hazelnut ice cream.
We had a perfect dinner experience. We had reservations and we were seated by the window. The service was perfect. Food was spot-on.
Bar has great intimate atmosphere and the $6 happy hour Manhattans really got my attention. Thanks Sharon!
I have eaten here twice in the last two months. Both time the food has been excellent. The server's have been courteous, and know the menu and what is being offered. I would jighhi recommend Vermilion
Our first visit. We went for Mother's Day brunch. FABULOUS food, gorgeously presented, and reasonably priced. Wonderful service. My wife said her shaved asparagus salad was the best salad she had ever had! We can't wait to go back for dinner.
The tasting menus were very good. It was great to have a vegetarian option.
Decent bite for a decent price. Portions are somewhat smaller, food is presented well and feels healthy and fresh
Creative cuisine from local farmers served in a gracious setting. Good service.
My wife and I went for our first anniversary, and Vermillion did everything they could to make it a perfect dining experience. The food was amazing (special favorite was the Stelle pasta) and the service was impeccable. Great place with great service!
Great food, but unusual dishes. Everything is carefully prepared, and delicious. It's easy to get carried away with the menu and order too much food. Better to pace yourself and keep coming back again and again. Wonderful selection of whisky as well, including some very unusual ones. And the service was phenomenal!
Lovely dinner, beautiful location, attentive staff and very nice wine list.
Always excellent, 5 star meal, terrific bar and lounging area
STINGY portions. Overpriced. I've never seen a restaurant with such small, disappointing portions for dinner (NB: we were 4 ladies who have worked/lived in France) The menu reads great but the teeny portions deflated any pleasure in the food. e.g., The suckling pig was ~1.5 x 2.5 inch square; its accompanying "boudin noir" was ~ 2 small bites; hardly any vegetables with it. Wines were excellent; service very good... but I will NEVER return to Vermilion.
I hear good things about dinner. Don't go for brunch.
A solid Old Town mainstay. Excellent food, friendly bar staff. This is a great choice for an easy meal with a great cocktail at the bar, date night or to celebrate something special.
Farm to table done with style. Great flavor combos. Haven't bin for drinks but I'm sure the high quality standard carry over.
Good service, expected more from the food--every thing we had was just ok. Service and ambiance were nice.
Very good food. We had the duck wings, they come with four so it made my group of three awkward with the forth. Very sweet and tasted like ribs almost. A tiny bit dry but overall very good tasting. We also had two orders of fries. We had the hush puppies, those were amazing. The overall feeling of the place was cozy. Wait staff was busy but kept up.
Awesome...great hangar steak. And they let kids run around in the lounge area.
Absolutely perfect experience. Highly recommend the tasting menu with the chefs pairing.
The food was very good and the service was excellent.
Awesome brunch! The food is simply delicious and the atmosphere is amazing. We love coming here.
Very nice, quiet, quaint, old fashioned restaurant bar. Eclectic style and delicious, service was warm and professional. Great for a romantic evening
Perfect spot for a special dinner. It's relatively expensive but it's worth it-- great food and great service in a great location.
Food is good, service is OK. But they seem never change place mat:( It's not so good for next customers
Very good food, creative and well presented. Extremely loud dining room spoiled much of the meal.
Vermilion is my go-to restaurant when friends are in town or someone asks for a great recommendation. The service never disappoints and the food quality has been consistent for years. Love it.
Exemplary customer service paired with a variety of unique food selections. Absolutely delicious! We had the Cornmeal-Crusted Blue Catfish, savoring every bite of Vermilion’s creative take on a southern classic. The burnt honey ice cream is a must try for desert. Next visit already planned, I’m looking forward to trying new mains and having the the cake as menu presents with the hazelnut ice cream.
I love this place so much. The menu is always changing depending on the season and the food is fresh and varied. Interesting flavors and new things to try as well as traditional stand-bys.
Vermilion is a personal favorite for drinks and apps in the lounge. They have a really nice atmosphere, the lounge has both bar and high tops as well as some comfy couches. The staff are always very friendly and helpful with choosing drinks and food. If you go for drinks and apps be sure to try the hushpuppies and wilted greens and artichoke dip. Stay clear of the fried calamari - very overpriced for what you get. Only reason I don't think Vermilion is a 5 star spot is the value. Although the atmosphere, quality and overall experience are great - what you get for what you pay just doesn't command 5 stars.
happy to drink with friend and family
This place is absolutely divine. The food is spectacular! We ordered several appetizers, pastas and main entrees. The pasta is freshly handmade. Although everything was delicious, the rabbit pasta was a standout. It was absolutely amazing and the pasta itself was incredibly flavorful. The desserts were delectable as well. The ice cream is all made in-house and the flavors are unqiue. The dishes were creative and all the ingredients were high quality. The thoughtfulness and artistry in the preparation of each dish really showed in its execution. In addition to the food, the service is great as well! Everything about this restaurant exceeds expectations and I will definitely come back again and introduce this place to my friends!
Nice selection of whiskey
I'll go back!
Great spot for happy hour. Bar staff are consistently top notch. Very good selection of craft beer and Bourbons. Bar menu is pretty good too. Not the cheapest place in Old Town but a reliably good place to visit.
I love the venue, the service , and the specials
Wonderful people, excellent food, great atmosphere. The little muffin with berries came at the start and was way better than the typical bread sticks and everything just kept getting better from there. The staff was amazing and knew the other customers there by name and order. :)
Amazing food, amazing taste. Excellent atmosphere
Had a great experience here on date night with my wife. The staff was very friendly, the food was well prepared, a good beer and wine selection and an overall comfortable vibe. We sat back in the bar area because we liked the warmth and lighting back there more than the tables for two lined up in the front of the restaurant. Our meal was for restaurant week and I was a little concerned with the portion sizes, but after it was all said and done, I was happy and full. Definitely will revisit this dinning spot.
It's in a nice part of town. But that's the end of positivity. The dishes are very small for the price!!!! And apparently not everyone is served the same way. So don't go in thinking all are equal. I wouldn't bother going if you have other options. I can't even remember if it taste good. That tells you that!
The food, service, drinks, and dessert were all 100% on point. The waiter offered fantastic recommendations throughout the meal and the pacing across 7-8 dishes was perfect. This was an excellent restaurant experience. Well worth the fairly reasonable prices.
This is a small intimate restaurant on the first floor that has a bar and a lounge area. We went for brunch and the service was excellent and fast. The food was very good. I didn't think I would like the Steak Tartare but I definitely did. The lemonade seemed to be fresh. I was so full after ordering the hush puppies and the breast that came to the table that I couldn't finish the burger.
Great ambiance, food/drink menu and service. Pic is the Old Vynl cocktail; outstanding mixologists...
Delicious foods. The waitress was knowledgeable about menu and beverages and did a great presentation of them. Good location. You can park your car on street.
Fabulous food, service, atmosphere! Celebrated our 21st Anniversary and will definitely be back.
I stopped by for a drink while exploring the area. The bartender Simon(?) made a very good vodka based drink. My only instructions was to use vodka and to "make it nice." He did not disappoint. I can't recite the 5 or so ingredients so feel free to ask for your own and take notes. ALSO! A man at the bar next to me for an order of duck wings. OMG they looked and smelled delicious. Almost like smaller chicken drumsticks. I was full but getting that next time. I'm told upstairs is the place to be. Very nice. EDITED December 29: I ordered the duck wings, side of fries, and a dessert. The duck wings are amazing! One of the best items I've had all year. Our server Angie was so funny and attentive. Her and Simon make the bar feel like the place to be.
Amazing food, knowledgeable servers. Great anniversary spot.
Amazing place to spend a wedding anniversary! The staff was knowledgeable, the food was wonderful, they brought us a complimentary dessert and an anniversary card! We will definitely be going back.
Great restaurant, good food, but our experience last night was very disappointing. Our server, Anthony, was disappointed that four people came in and took up a 4-top in his station just for dessert. As we watched him interact with the table beside us, you could notice the difference. It wasn't until towards the end of our visit that he even bothered to display any personality. It was more than likely an attempt to salvage any chance of a gratuity. My wife and I have been there a number of times and will go back, but Anthony will not be our server.
The staff was very personable and highly efficient. The food entries were outstanding and imaginative. Overall would recommend to anyone interested in a fun and enjoyable evening dining experience. Wonderful!!
A surprisingly large place, looks tiny from the street. Nice bar area. Interesting ingredient and flavor combinations. Service was a bit curt on the occasion we visited
Our party of four each made different selections from the menu: pasta, duck, and fish. We were all well pleased with our dishes. On a chilly night I found the soup to be an ideal starter. This was the fourth visit for my wife and I and we will be back again.
Food excellent, ambiance excellent, Angie, Simon, Nick, Jay, and Wes make every visit memorable and special!!
Pretty good food. The beer selection is great. My dinner guests did not enjoy the bloody marys.
Service was superb, the food was fantastic, and the dining experience was. delightful.
Very nice and cool place! The food is really good and creative. The food is perfectly cooked! The service was very good!
Very disappointing. Menu at restaurant was different from one on their website. It also din not include a 3rd course - dessert. My sea bass was served half cooked and was sent back. To their credit they compt my meal. At home we went to their website and they were still showing the original menu.
LOVED this place!!! Staff was great, and the food was amazing!
Amazing place to spend a wedding anniversary! The staff was knowledgeable, the food was wonderful, they brought us a complimentary dessert and an anniversary card! We will definitely be going back.
Sat outside, inside looked great too nice bar......food was great
They have an amazing chef.
One if my favorite places for drinks or brunch in Old Town. They've been redecorating and the interior looks great. Very cozy. Great food.
Good food drinks excellent staff very friendly and accommodating
Amazing food and service. A little pricey for small servings but the food is amazing and the atmosphere is welcoming with nice mood lighting. Would recommend for couples or groups.
This was absolutely the most exquisite meal preparred to the hilt and paired with delicious wine! The atmosphere was comfortable and only added to the experience. Highly recommend. Worth every penny!
Long time personal favorite in Old Town. Not always great, but almost always very good.
The staff was super accommodating to my pregnant wife with seating arrangements and food restrictions. The waiter was well versed with the menu and navigated use through his own version of the tasting menu. An establishment that cares about repeat business unlike most establishments that are able to get away with a average evening due to old towns high volume of tourism.
The food was creative, fresh and we'll presented. Delicious salad and entre
I went to Restaurant Eve based on word of mouth. A old friend and I went to door. It's a very calm and lovely experience. It's not inexpensive - but it's a lovely meal. We had the Asian Tasting menu which was three courses.
Delicious brunch - Summer and Baby Kale Salads were fresh, pasta dishes were tasty, and the Affogato was perfectly creamy
I absolutely loved their gnocchi dish
Great restaurant! Modern, good atmosphere some amazing menu items.

Food is great. Loved the duck heart toast!
I was extremely impressed with everything I had. My group was able to share and taste quite a range of menu options and not a single thing we had disappointed. The flavors were unique and awesome. I cannot wait to come back again.
The staff was very personable and highly efficient. The food entries were outstanding and imaginative. Overall would recommend to anyone interested in a fun and enjoyable evening dining experience. Wonderful!!
I was here as part of a holiday work luncheon and our group was about 9. We say on the ground level towards the front of the restaurant (there is an upstairs also for bigger parties). I've been to several other restaurants in the neighborhood group and have always been pretty happy. The staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions. They were also very attentive at refilling water and taking orders. Overall the only downside seemed to be a slow kitchen. We had calamari which was quite good and followed it up with the Vermillion burger. Along with the Bluejacket palace at 4am sweet stout (also from neighborhood group) and some red wines it was a great lunch. I ended it all with the affagato which could have had just a hit more espresso but was quite good. Would definitely go back.
We had a table for 4 in the upper room. The service is very professional. We took the 5-course tasting menu. This price (68$) appeared to be a very good value for money. Also the accompanying wine parings (27$ for a glass with each dish) was very good. It are relatively small portions of wine but we really liked this formulae. The dishes were excellent, the interior of the restaurant is very pleasant and the staff was very kind. Overall, an excellent experience
sorry Vermilion, you were very good couple years ago but have been back many times and this was the last, not appealing food and service just dont care much, it seem that Brabo is the best on King street.
Amateur hour. I had a reservation for tonight and Vermilion closed for the evening and did not bother to call me to inform me of the closure (so I went there anyway to find out via a paper taped to the door), nor did they cancel the OpenTable reservation (which would have informed me), nor did they return my phone call from much earlier that evening when I called to confirm my reservation. Clearly this restaurant is an amateur enterprise.
Pretty cool cocktail bar, a little pricey but a food place to casually sit, eat, and drink with friends. The waiter we had was awesome, got to sample beers and after a couple of tastes he was able to figure out the perfect beer for me, I dream of that beer sometimes because I can't find it in my hometown. The food is excellent and everyone enjoyed thier cocktails. Would definitely visit this place again.
Excellent wine menu, Cohbia and Fluke were amazing. All the food was well prepared atmosphere was very romantic. A great date spot!
If I'm being honest the burger was a little salty. Otherwise I had a good experience.
This Vermilion is a good place. They have a great menu and i loved their drinks.
This is one of my favorite spots. Love the steak salad and drinks are pretty good, too. They need to improve their music though to make it a bit livelier.
Good cocktails
The food is great. Get the duck wings and gnocchi
I went on a late Tuesday evening after walking King Street, and it caught my eye. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, so I thought I'd stop by. I was dining solo, and it was still a very pleasant meal. The service was great, and the food was delicious. I had the spicy steak tartare and one of the pasta dishes. It was all great, and the serving size was more than enough for one person. They also have local beers on draft.
It was nice and romantic! The menu is small but very good! The wine was excellent the atmosphere was full of romance. We pledge to come there at least once a week. That's how much we like the service and the Ambiance and of course the food. Only negative thing to say is that it is rather pricey!!!
The best food, service and atmosphere around!
Excellent food, good wine selection
The hostess took us up the steps to the second floor to a nice table for 2 by the window overlooking King Street. I loved the décor. Since it was our anniversary, we splurged and ordered the tasting menu with wine pairing. Everything was excellent, except the chocolate dessert which left a lot to be desired and the crust was difficult to cut. The wine pairings were very good. Our waiter was excellent. I loved it here and hope to return.
Hands down one of the best meals I had. Beautiful restaurant and an amazing bar. Cozy but yet lively. Terrific service. The food is to incredible: warm salad or roasted squash and wild maitake, Scottish salmon, and olive oil cake with honey bee pollen and pear. They also have a nice wine selection. I can highly recommend this place. The have one of the most interesting dessert menus I have seen in a long time. Note to owner: website needs improvement on functionality.
Perfect gnocchi but the soft shell crab is beyond incredible
My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting Vermillion on Saturday evening and we could not be happier with our experience. This is our third visit (twice for dinner and once for brunch) and I can now very confidently say that Vermillion is *the* best restaurant in Old Town and a must-try by anyone who lives in or happens to be visiting the area. The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is outstanding, and the service is absolutely exceptional. We would highly recommend either tasting menu (Vermillion offers a standard five course tasting menu as well as a vegetarian option, both at unbeatable price points), which gives you the opportunity to sample a range of creative, fresh, and seasonal dishes. The Chef will not disappoint -- there isn’t a single dish we’ve received during any of our visits that we didn’t like! We also cannot speak highly enough of the service at Vermillion. The wait staff is incredibly friendly, very attentive, extremely knowledgeable, and very passionate about the food. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!
Beautiful surroundings, excellent food and service
Best place in Old Town!
Really exceptional food and even a bit less expensive than other restaurants in Alexandria of equal, or even lesser, quality. My wife and I went there for our anniversary and were greeted with complimentary champagne and a really delightful server. The Gnocchi appetizer is incredible. Made fresh daily and melts in your mouth. Definitely would recommend Vermilion for a romantic night out.
We tried the prix fixed offerings on Monday, and were so pleased we returned on Thursday for dinner. Not only were we not disappointed, I returned home to try replicating the unique and delectable dish I ordered. Service was a perfect balance of professional and friendly. Place is a winner. Their breads, baked daily on the premises, are to die for.
I went for happy hour drinks with friends. The place was busy and lively. The service was friendly, albeit a bit slow, and a couple times we had to ask for something twice. Drinks were tasty, and the appetizers we shared were delicious.
Lots of hype, but not impressed at all. The experience and service was great. The vibe was romantic. But if you’re looking for great food... Look elsewhere (like Magnolia on King, Columbia Firehouse, etc.) Food was eccentric and lacked flavor.
Wonderful food, great for date night, bonsing with friends and options for meat lovers and vegetarians
This place is an experience and such a great one. The staff gives fantastic service. The wine choices are delectable, the food is UNFORGETTABLE and you'll think about it for days. Their chef obviously thinks about how every flavor plays off the other to create a symphony on your palate. The bone marrow toast is something you have to get! The pasta is made in house and the tagliatelle dish is Sri food, we went back for it 2 days later because we couldn't stop thinking about it. The duck special they had???? Wow, it's was the BEST. Eat eveything on this menu..... you won't be disappointed!!!
Great good, great service and warm atmosphere. I love this place!
This place is lovely. The food, the drinks, and the service were amazing.
Was actually a very good dinner I don't like salmon so I stayed away from the salmon but everything else was really really good
Ambar is obviously pricy but what you get is a carefully curated and revolving menu, which highlights seasonal products, an attentive staff, and a calm, relaxing vibe in the restaurant. Vermilion is a great place to take someone for an anniversary or birthday, and every item my table ordered was delicious.
The best pasta in Old Town.
Nice bar with tasty cocktails and great service. We ran in during a rain storm and were treated very well. We heard about the cocktail recipes that I will try at home, but will visit again definitely.
Very creative food. Very pleasant service. Nice wine. Margarita not as good as mine. Atmosphere relaxing. Booth area in bar is particularly pleasant.Overall, a great meal.
It was nice and romantic! The menu is small but very good! The wine was excellent the atmosphere was full of romance. We pledge to come there at least once a week. That's how much we like the service and the Ambiance and of course the food. Only negative thing to say is that it is rather pricey!!!
Delicious food but the decor lacks sufficient star wars memorabilia to feel really homey. Minus 3 stars. The bartender is astonishing so plus 4 stars. The Google review system only allows 5 stars, minus 1 star!
We have been meaning to eat here for a while now, and I am so glad we finally did! The service was excellent. Our server gave us a great overview of the menu, which was super helpful. Everything we had was delicious and unique. They make their own pasta, and it was so good.
Wonderful dining and bar experience! Highly recommend to those in the area
Vermilion is my favorite restaurant in Old Town. The ambiance was stunning and so was the staff. We were greeted immediately with warm smiles and friendly words. Our wonderful waitress served us glasses of champagne compliments of the chef for celebrating our Anniversary that evening. The food was decadent, delicious and divine. The service was impeccable. Before we left, we were even given a card from the staff for our Anniversary. A truly memorable evening. Thank you Vermilion!
One of my favorite restaurants in Old Town. Delicious food and excellent service by both bartenders and waiters. I have a few menu favorites I wish they’d keep (bring back the olive oil cake!), but I’ll be back.
Great meal. Very nice atmosphere. Knowledgeable server. Attentive service. Great time all around!
Very good quality, but tiny portion for the $19 vegetarian dish.
We went on a Monday and had their pasta and salad menu. I cannot adequately describe how delicious everything was. The wine pairings were perfect and the bartender was extremely experienced. I was so angry while I was having my meal because it was in the top five meals of my life and it was going to be over. I was mad when it was done, but it was mind-blowingly delicious. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Delicious food, efficient service. Really fantastic tastes and didn’t get anything I didn’t like.
The bar area is small but the bar staff were top notch. The dinner was divine starting with the steak tartare. An order of salmon and the Rohan duck breast we're cooked to perfection. If you want an intimate dining experience the Vermilion delivers.
Literally everything we had was delicious and amazing. Don't miss out on the almond tart! The staff goes above and beyond which made this a truly memorable evening. A special thank you to Wes for making sure we had a great night :)
We took two friends to dinner on a Friday night. To make dinner more interesting and adventurous, we simply asked for a number of courses and dessert and paired wines. First let me say, this is not the way to go if you don't eat anything other than meat and potatoes. The food was simply outstanding. Thomas the chef is adventurous, but knows how to bring out the best in his ingredients. We asked for wine pairings as well and the wine choices were excellent. You may feel this review is slightly overboard but all I can say is that every course was wonderful and built on the previous course. Highly recommended.
Vermilion has been amazing to my family from the very first time visiting in 2010. I've been in and out of the country for long periods of time and every time I get a chance I go back to Vermilion and the food/ service/ atmosphere stays incredible! The food always sets a very high mark and has been consistent throughout the years, even much so, my wife and I had our wedding reception there! Living all over the world for 20+ years...Vermilion is our favorite restaurant!
One of my favorites in old Town. Expensive cocktails. Low light. Incredible food. The secret? $5 glasses of wine for happy hour
The wine pairing menu will challenge your palate!!!
Excellent restaurant with an interesting menu
