REVIEWS OF Trummer's Restaurant IN Virginia

Carine Jemia

Came here with my husband last Sunday. The experience was great all the way from the door to the servicers and the food. We had a three course meal and it was delicious and presentable. They changed our cutlery and plates for each course. The bill was way cheaper than expected based on the experience. Loved everything about it

Richard Staines

Great ambiance, great service, and delicious food!

Vaughn Cordle, CFA

Disappointed with main course - under-cooked salmon and too spicy appetizers. This was the second Sunday in a row I have taken friends and family members and found the food to be OK, but not up to the standards of I have experienced at Trummer's in the past. Not sure what's going on, but management needs to provide better oversight of how the meals are prepared. I also was disappointed with the help I got in the wine cellar. I asked for a suggestion of a good white wine with the objective to buy a 1/2 dozen bottles. The feedback was not helpful and therefore I didn't buy any wine. Perhaps the problem with mediocre meals only occurs on Sunday. Regardless, the price is too high for mediocre meals and I'll go elsewhere when my friends and family come into town.

Kristy Stankovich

Pricey for the portions but otherwise good food

Wassim Ghali

Very good service and delicious menu. There were 4 of us and we had different dishes and we were all very happy with what we got.

Annie Chung

Food and ambiance is always on point. Ive been here multiple times, and every time I dine here the service and food is exceptional!

Joe Kim

Wonderful brunch and lunch menu with a southern flair

Elijah Kirschmann

Have been here a few times and really enjoy the atmosphere. The food options are delicious and when done with a wine pairing, you can't beat it.

mike parker

Company event with really good dinner food plates (steak bites, risotto balls, and some other goodies). We also had some great mixed drinks. I'd like to come back for a proper dinner.

Kara Baird

I love coming here every time I come to northern VA. It is a locally owned restaurant with so much passion and love put into the service and the food. This is a culinary experience you will always remember with some of the best foods I have ever tried. If you love to try innovative and exquisite food, you don’t want to miss coming to Trummer’s.

Christin Hyduke

Pricey, but very yummy

Leon Hampton

Best experience ever. I was totally blown away by the quality. Did not see this coming. Met the chef and the owner. Fabulous people. A must visit when anywhere near the area. Must have the Mercy of the Chef. You leave as happy as I.

Cindy Lawton

Delicious Eggs Benedict! Great service and setting. Loved the Titanic Martini that paired beautifully with the wonderful meal.

Caroline Maunakea-Hammonds

My husband and I came in last night for dinner for the first time and we were so pleased with everything. We had the four course tasting menu with wine pairings and it was delicious. Before that we enjoyed drinks at the bar, and the bartender was quite skilled and turned out some innovative and delicious libations. We will definitely return. Cheers!

Catherine Ross

Held a business dinner for a large group in the large room on the second floor and had an excellent experience. Staff were ready and welcoming upon our arrival and throughout the evening. Our meals were prompt and nicely portioned, and the staff gladly adjusted the menu as needed to accommodate special dietary needs of some guests. The space was perfect for a business dinner as well - large, quiet, and well lit. Would definitely return for personal or business occasions.

Janet Rider

What a wonderful experience! The food was out of this world, the atmosphere was enchanting, and service was the best I've seen. It was the perfect birthday dinner!

Rich Durso

Excellent place for great food in a quiet neighborhood. Nice bar on lower floor and dining upstairs. Food was really good. Will be back soon. Reservation highly recommend.

Mike Kulinski

Hit or miss. Sometimes very good, other times only so-so

Daniel Zinski

Went here with 4 adults and a child. Overall, a great meal. The atmosphere is attractive, somewhere between formal and cozy. Huge building with three separate areas...main dining room, bar, and patio. The menu is a bit pricey but all of our party members were very satisfied with our selections. I'm ok with paying a premium if I know the food will be delicious and inventive. This place fits that mold. Anyway, cocktails were very good, almost great. Those are pricey though. I believe if you're paying $14+ for a cocktail, it better be memorable. Trummer's cocktails all had a bit of individuality, which I appreciate. They also were hearty servings. Which is why I wouldn't deduct a star. The only two small complaints that I have is the lack of options for kids. They have a kids tasting menu...but what kid needs that. And I understand they dont want kids overrunning the place. But maybe one option when you have to bring a kid in a pinch would be nice. Also, the standard tasting menu is only offered with full table participation. I thought this was kind of bogus as 2 in our group were interested but went with regular meals after hearing that info. In essence, it's a great spot for a date or special occasion, but the main dining room can only be frequented if you're ballin. The patio and bar are nice options for the rest of us to visit normally.

Hillary Small

I have only been for drinks and aps but the ambiance is fantastic. Dim, quaint bar. The craft cocktails are very unique. I recommend the Cardamom Punch or the Pleasure and Pain. Very tasty! The bar has a TV for sports fans too.

Kathy dominguez

Great food and atmosphere. Had Valentine's dinner, 4 courses that were just the right size.

Gary Connor

Part of the Frick complex. Food surprisingly good. Kid friendly.

elizabethany ploger

Absolutely beautiful place and the best service I've had in a while. They know how to make a special day feel even more special and we'll be spending many more birthday brunches here!

Michael Boyer

It was great. The food was good, the service was normal but, in the time when I was getting seconds, it was like they didn't have any food, they didn't have live music and partying like they did in the past, the Trummerfest was just so different this year. They didn't has the Butternut Squash Soup. I'll never do the Trummerfest again next year.

Gus Mansilla

Good good, good atmosphere.

Erica Edge

I had a pleasant Titanic Tuesday Happy Hour experience. The servers and hostess were personable and friendly. The food was also tasty, especially the brussel sprouts. I would have preferred crispier truffle fries, simply because that's how I prefer my fries. It also would have been helpful to be advised that I should select my seating based on the kind of menu I planned to order from. Apparently the main dining area has a separate menu from the patio and bar, which provide the happy hour menu. Oddly enough, while being seated I was asked if I was celebrating anything, to which I replied I'm just here for the drink/Titanic. Of course I guess only I would naturally assume that meant I'm not here to eat a full meal. At any rate I was seated inside as I asked and was later seated outside (again by my request) once it was clear that we only wanted drinks and maybe appetizers.

Tom McManus

The staff and atmosphere were amazing. One staff person was talking to us a lot and is European so enjoyed hearing about my Hungarian cooking, turns out, he is the owner. Very nice people, food was excellent. Wine choices were great

Jamie Hawkins

Consistently amazing food, good service, and nice atmosphere.

Ella Mitchell

The cocktails, food and atmosphere are very desirable for any scenario... a day by yourself, group or in an intimate setting. I really enjoyed myself.

Jana Chamberlin

We've had mixed experiences over the years coming to Trummer's on Main. However, we wanted to see what had changed in the last couple of years. So excited we did! We arrived early and waited at the bar for a drink. The place was packed so while we did wait roughly 15 minutes, this was not due to any fault of the bartenders. At exactly the time of our reservation, the hostess approached us at the bar and let us know our table was ready and carried our drinks up to our tables. Our waiter was JR and he was fantastic. We went with the 5-course meal with wine pairing and added the foie grois. Everything was timed impeccably so we were never rushed or waiting too long between dishes. We were one of the final tables to leave and everyone was very nice and reiterated there was no rush for us to leave. A fantastic experience for us all. My Dad is visiting from out of town and is still raving about the experience!

Anita Juul

We love that everyone sincerely welcomes you, beginning as you walk in the door to when you're escorted to your table. Trummers on Main sincerely believe that the customer always comes first and their chefs make good on that promise!

Ryan Lawless

Perfect experience from start to finish. Our server, Larry, could not have provided better service.

Dean Macke

We say outside on the patio which was very pleasant. Excellent service and great atmosphere. They change their menu regularly, but we had the ricotta gnocchi, which was amazing. We also had the brussel sprouts, truffle fries and frissee salad. Everything was delicious.

John Tobin

Nice place, food good, but a little pricey.

Allan Rudwick

Awesome vibe, wait staff, food, party venue

Matthew Zackschewski

One of my most favorite restaurants I've ever been to. You're first met with a small town vibe in the small town of Clifton VA. This restaurant is just off the road in a small town you probably wouldn't think twice about if you were driving through. However if you're fortunate enough to stop by you'll be in for a treat. The wait was about an hour when we arrived so we sat out front on some tables meant for to go customers with our drinks from the bar. Then a person, whom I assume was a manager, mentioned that the outdoor seating in the back was mostly empty and asked if we had been told about them. We hadn't so we got a table in less than 30 minutes. The waiter, Chris, was a very animated guy who was awesome to speak with. Very witty, he kept the conversations interesting and didn't hover around our table (like some waiters have in the past at other restaurants). After our meal the manager came up to us and mentioned that he heard it was our first time and told us of other events they offer throughout the week/year. Very nice as well. The food was amazing. I had the lasagna; you could definitely tell it was homemade. It came in a nice plate/bowl contraption which I guess was designed for hot meals. The meat and cheese went very nicely with the homemade noodles. (obviously not a pro food critique but I just know it was very good) Overall one of the best restaurant experiences I've had and would definitely recommend to anyone out there who loves small town vibes, good/friendly service, and obviously great food.

Stefanie Kerr

Titanic cocktails. Get some.

Tim Kelly

Always very easy, with good brunch.

David Costanza

Very good but not great, inconsistent service, hard to justify given the prices and better options nearby. Torn between three and four stars but I'll round up and say four.

Jay Bond

Wonderful evenng with superb food, excellent and attentive service and the best Austrian wine list I've seen in the entire US! I'm Viennese, Austrian, and can't wait to meet the Austrian owner the next time I visit, I'm in over with this restaurant,

Phil Russell

Good food and good times. We can't wait to go back!!

Laura Neiman

Such a perfect family or date night place. Drinks are extraordinary! Titanic is a must try. The food is so tasty and their staff are so friendly and courteous. I Recommend this restaurant 100%

Brie Johanson

Went for Restaurant Week. The 5 Course menu with wine pairings was phenomenal. Each course had its own taste of charm and divinity, to be joined with a taste of wine, which can only be described as a matched by the makers. The service was amazing. They were able to accommodate some personal preferences. They also ask for dietary and allergic restrictions.

Maloupu Watts

Make sure to reserve a spot before dining here! This place is pretty popular. My husband and I enjoy coming here on Sundays when they offer the family-style meals. The staff is extremely courteous and kind. The food is delicious, especially for the price. Upon readying to leave, I saw the staff handing a pretty white rose to a couple to congratulate them on their anniversary. We look forward to our next visit.

Mari bever

It was a quiet night; the service was great, the food was amazing, and the drinks, from wine to cocktails, were spectacular. I would like to move into the wine cellar. I am recommending this restaurant to everyone I know.

Ryan Pfeffer

I went here for my birthday dinner last night. The food, service, and wine pairings were all very good.

John Walker

Would recommend to anyone who would ask. The tasting dinner option they have from time to time was amazing. We are already waiting for the next announcement to make our reservations.

Tejinderpal Virdee

Great food. Great for anniversaries and birthdays. Bit of a mature crowd, not for millennials!

Emily Van De Ven

Enjoyed eating on the front porch with our dogs. Even though you are looking onto main street, it is still a peaceful, quaint atmosphere. Fries were amazing. Corn bread was a little dry. Burger was ok - they use 2 thin patties so we were unable to request medium, automatically comes medium well to well done. The patties were very greasy tasting and a little tough. I expected better quality meat from this type of restaurant. Plenty of parking on the side.

John Bunderson

Amazing food, surprisingly beautiful building in the countryside. Very good service and chef. Chef has skills. We ate the lamb, the Beef Wellington, & duck. Everyone very happy. I also enjoyed the chowder.

Shannon Heath

Fantastic Thanksgiving menu. Superb service.

James McMichael

My wife and I celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary by going to brunch at Trummer's We had heard that the restaurant was among the top 100 in the country, but we think it belongs in the top 10 at least. We have traveled the world, and we have not experience the total package to be so complete as at Trummer;s. The presentation and creativity of each course was totally amazing and surprising to us. The chef is a genius. We took pictures, which we have never done before. The bloody Mary was the best I have ever had. I couldn't improve on that if I tried. The oysters on the half shell with pine burning was amazing. We finished with home made marshmallows toasted on an open flame, and that was over the top for our expectations. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive and responsive. Thank you for making our special day so memorable.

Sasha Marks

Fantastic experience all around. Great food and great service. The egg was worth it!

bd j

Food and service is great

Chris Hart

There may not be a better experience in northern Virginia. Food, ambiance, and service all first class and second to none. We will return for more than a special occasion.

Marwan Jackson

With history that dates back to the 1800's this is a definitive must visit. Craft cocktails, and an experience that will have you visiting for more!!

Andrea Van Wambeke

I can't say enough wonderful remarks about Trummer's On Main. My husband and I made reservations for our anniversary, and we had an exceptional experience. Our server (Larry) was excellent. He gave a gastronomical walk through of each course as it came out, letting us know the care that went into every aspect of the meal. The owner, Stefan, checked in with us to make sure we were having a perfect evening. He regaled us with the history and cuisine of his native Austria and helped introduce us to wines from his homeland. We even received a special glass of champagne and chocolates in recognition of our special occasion. We could not have had a more perfect night, and we can't wait for our next visit.

Matt Smith

You will not be disappointed ordering the Chef's Mercy with wine pairing.

Joseph Raczynski

I've been here a few times. It's always excellent. Great spin on some classic American dishes and cocktails. I personally like the feel of the place. It's in a very random - semi remote location in a small town. Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz

Kristen Hoefke

Always glorious! Amazing for a special occasion, brunch, or an evening out with friends. The food and cocktails are on point and the service is spectacular. One of my very favorite places.

Cindy L. Johnson

The food is amazing, the service is impeccable and it's a wonderful dining experience. Plus everything is reasonably placed! I know some over priced places who are not even worthy of what they charge..... this place is the exact opposite!

E E

Exquisite food, wines, sommelier, wait staff...all top notch. Highly recommended.

Kevin Crummett

I had me reception there when it was The Hermitage. It's only gotten better. Oyster roasts in October and other wonderful events. Charming country inn in the middle of Fairfax county.

Jan and Joe Adams

Sat at the bar waiting for a table... delighted with the bar menu...my husband had shrimp and grits and I had fried cod....it was fabulous....but the dessert was phenomenal.....decadent chocolate cake with raspberry sorbet and chocolate mouse frozen into slivers that provided an incredible texture!!!! Well done!

donna wong

Great choice for restuarant week. Wonderful ambiance and superior service. I had a salmon salad, short ribs and chocolate mousse. Each was elegantly prepared. Extensive international wine list.

Wonderful food and exceptional service! One of our favorite places in the DMV.

Jeffory Hopp

Fabulous mother's day dinner. The staff was attentive, courteous and quick. We love Trummers and go a couple of times a year. Their dinner selections were surprising, each extravagant as always. The wine pairings were great. Soft shell crab, quail, and the desserts were other-worldly. See you there again!!

Amy Owsenek

Perfect experience.

Johanna Devon

Very expensive. Honestly, I was not impressed. It does have nice atmosphere and good service. But the prices are simy ridiculous. I went with friends on New Years Eve. SO not worth the money.

Raiquel Brown

Amazing service, great food, amazing staff and we will be back

Jorge Bohabot

Had dinner there for my girlfriend's birthday. It was a prix fix menu for restaurant week. Food and wine were paired. Spectacular. Sat on the patio. Very romantic setting. Highly recommend.

There food was innovative, fresh ingredients, creative and tasteful classy restaurant we have eaten in, in this area!! The servers were friendly attentive and just awesome people! Kudos to all of them!

Trish Meyer

Cannot say what I loved more? Honestly! Our server was amazing, fun loving, attentive, completely knowledgeable about the menu and pairings - we never went without. Our small issue with wine was handled with grace and class. So appreciative. The food was delightfully presented, so fresh and delicious. Beet appetizer was amazing and our entrees were so good. Textures of Chocolates desserts was a real highlight! The outdoor patio was second to none. Great views and semi quiet. Perfect night out. Staff all works well together and the interior history and wine cellar were out of bounds perfection. Cannot wait to go back!

Jonathan Torres

A+ service. Great brunch atmosphere.

Celebrated a friend's 30th birthday there and they pulled out all the stops for us! Great drink selection, and even got to check out the wine cellar. Very attentive staff, and enjoyed the tasting menu by the chef with 5 to 7 course meal. Delicious plates which broadened my food horizons! Clean facility and perfect atmosphere for a large group, romantic dinner, or drink at the bar.

Came here for a wedding, the venue was beautiful. A great amount of space to accommodate a large group of people without feeling crowded or that there was too much space. The service was great, food was so good! Definitely loved this place, will be back for another meal.

Robert Burnham

We had the Sunday Family special with a party of 14. The worst of the courses was only great, everything else was fantastic

Shana Morris

Delicious food and wonderful service!

Roxane Holmes

Thought we would pop in Trummers for my birthday dinner. It just happened to be Restaurant Week which was a boon for us. We had the four-course meal and the wine pairings and it was fabulous. The service was good the atmosphere is nice and the food is top-notch. Great place to go on a cold January night.

Quasi Bear

Amazing food, and brunch is quite reasonable and casual. I know everyone's doing them now, but the shrimp and grits are delicious, as is the chicken and biscuits and gravy.

Sharon Smith

The food was absolutely incredible and the service top notch. Absolutely worth it.

Jayna Yun

Nice and quiet place on Clifton.

michele diffenderfer

Outstanding As Always- Amazing Food and Top-notch Service

james reder

Tasting menu price was reduced recently so my friend and I paid Trummers a visit. It truly is an experience that is well worth the expense. $70 for the 5 course tasting and another $50 for the wine pairing. The service was exceptional and the food was amazing.

Sam Meek

Food is amazing but the service has consistently been sub par. There is a much better restaurant up the street, Villagio!

Bruce Rose

One of my favorite restaurants in northern Virginia. The drinks are great and the food is always amazing. Truly a great experience all around. A little pricey, but it's worth the money spent.

Stephen Marshall

Delicious food and 1st class service

Becca Boo

Beautiful open air restaurant. Went for birthday brunch with my daughters. Very good, but pricey food. No gluten free menu, but the chef did accommodate. I was given 3 different options but at least the food was fabulous

Ray Bevacqua

5 stars because of great menu of not-usual-fare, AA+ service and expertise of top flight staff; all of them. $$$, as you would expect

Mario Sanchez

Owner are nice and renovating the restaurant giving it a great upgrade

Mike Horgan

Great drinks and great fries. A little pricey, but a good treat every now and then.

John

The restaurant itself is beautiful, and it has a great location in Clifton. For the life of me though, I don't know how it has stayed in business for so long. Everything is overpriced, and the food is average at best. The best thing we had there was the french fries, which were truffle fries. They would have been twice as good if they weren't so heavily salted you could barely taste the truffles. The scallop dinner was an entire plate of Kasha with 3 scallops on it, which were also over-salted. (And that was $34!) This is the third time I've eaten at Trummers, and each time I have been underwhelmed, but thought I just ordered the wrong thing. I was wrong. It is unfortunate because the location is so great! If you are looking for great food in this general area, skip Trummers and go across the street to Trattoria Villagio or to bistro l'hermitage near Occoquan.

James Schlup

Went there with my wife and had the 5 course tasting menu. It was worth every penny!

Bridget Fahey

Delicious and inventive. I recommend getting the tasting menu, and come ready to eat!

Aaron Roberts

Shamon Smalls

This unassuming place, packs great ambiance, food and service. Make your reservation ASAP and you won't be disappointed.

Mary Drew

3 stars for food- nothing spectacular, tasted fine. 2 stars for service- Reception staff was friendly, personable. Wait staff was flat with no smile, cold personalities, and confused. Server was friendly. Food service was very slow. .5 star for value for cost- The prices did not reflect what should have been served, how it was served, and who it was served by. overall 2.5 stars Food was fine, disappointing but decent. After seeing the reviews, and the notarary my expectations were apparently too high and in my opinion not worth the cost at all. Sunday brunch for 4, 4 appetizers, no alcoholic beverages, 4 waters, 3 coffees....135.00. It was not bad, taste was decent. Served half luke warm/half cold and we all ordered plates of food which generally come hot. I didn't taste, see, or feel the cost of 135.00. Wait staff was flat on personality. Our server was friendly. Service was slow and confused.

John Oliver

Amazing food, great service, such a comfortable dining room! GO NOW!

Emil Antonio

Good food, good service, good place for date night!

Jonathan McDonald

An amazing meal once again. Love this restaurant.

Navid Abbassi

Wonderful food and drinks and service

Billy Cramer

Can't say enough great things about this wonderful establishment!

berkroy

Excellent service, excellent food, highly recommended!

Brian Kelley

My experience at Trummer's was fantastic! I had dinner there on a Tuesday night, so it wasn't too busy; the space was very nice and there was a lot of natural light. There is also a patio seating area, but it was very warm outside so we opted to sit inside. The food was absolutely delicious; I had the salmon and my date had the steak, and we shared a side of the fries which were phenomenal. I really like how the server described each dish in detail, and the service itself was very good. I highly recommend Trummer's - it won't disappoint!

Mary Donoghue

The food was delicious except the eggplant. It was HOT SPICY. The prime rib had good flavor but was a little tough. The staff was outstanding. Friendly, chatty, competent and so many of them.

Darby Jameson

Went out for a kid free double date. The food was amazing! The cocktails were super fun! Beautifully done upstairs with lovely views. Highly recommend!

Alex Burkart

Fantastic restaurant!

Sarah Pawley

Trummer’s is 5-star all the way. I’ve been here for dinner in the bar, tasting menu dinners, and special events for wine pairing and in every case had a delightful and delicious dining experience.

steve cutchins

I went to Trummer's on Main during restaurant week with a party of six. We waited by the lower level bar for our table, fairly quickly someone asked if we wanted drinks. Up until this point it was okay. After being seated, service slowed quite a bit, and little things went wrong a few times that added up to a not-great experience. A table of six was brought two corn cakes, they were good but not enough for six so we asked for more twice (first time he forgot and later apologized.) We had to ask multiple times for drinks also, since they forgot the teenager's soda. Another thing we didn't notice until dessert was served was that they never explained the courses as they brought them, which someone in our party said was customary (and expected with fine dining.) It even seemed like they "auctioned off" the food, you know, when they ask who had a certain dish ("the sea bass?") versus announcing it ("your sea bass.") The food? Very good, I enjoyed it all, although I did leave a little hungry (the teenager was starving afterwards.) I would have preferred to do the larger menu with wine pairings but that must be done for the entire table so that was a no-go given that we had a teenager with us I will go again as I think this wasn't the norm, and I do expect better, but this time wasn't that great.

Bradford Pace

A dining destination in Clifton with an incredible chef, owner and A+ wine director.

Shannon Roulet

Fries and drinks are good but I think everything is too expensive($18 for half dozen tiny oysters

John Penfold

This is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The food is exceptional and the wine menu is extensive; I was impressed they even had a Penfold's. Be prepared to shell out the big bucks, but it's worth every single dollar.

Richard Papp

Have enjoyed Trummer's for several different meals and events over the years. The quality of the experience as well as the food is the best by far in the Northern Virginia area in my opinion. The willingness of the staff to accommodate special requests is always greatly appreciated, as is the creative nature of the bartenders and owner with their cocktails! I would definitely recommend to friends (and have MANY times)!! PS - Keep an eye out for their various Pop up restaurant themes! Always something new and interesting to enjoy.

Andrew Schecker

Great brunch, but their non-existent tea menu was a real let down

Peter Stonecipher

Fantastic venue for a wedding reception. Attentive service, great food, beautiful building. Memorable reception.

Adam Bernat

Great ambiance, excellent food and staff.

Kathleen Stepp

Awesome drinks. Pork skins a little hard.

Jena Elysse

I absolutely love this place. The food is exquisite, the staff is wonderful, and I'm treated royally whether at the bar for a light meal or upstairs for a full tasting experience. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

Liz Jones

This restaurant never disappoints. Not only was the food delicious (highly recommend the Rohan Duck) but the service was impeccable. Our waiter was great and we also had a sommelier help us choose the right bottle of wine for us and for our meal, and even got to sample a couple before making our decision. We also had someone come to our table to go through the dessert options - Textures of Chocolate is not to be missed. And of course there were the little bonuses - fresh cornbread with an AMAZING raspberry jam to start and truffles to finish :)

Veronica Flores Martinez

Believe me the ceviche is not spicy but hot. It is really good though! It has three different spots inside with their distinctive menu. I also had "the Absinthe Experience", it is the real deal. Love this place will come back.

Bryan Bomer

Excellent drinks and appetizers. Wonderful personalities at the bar.

Sneaky Baron

Mercy of the Chef was fantastic!

Mike Anthony

Good quick bar food. Great staff

Steve Folena

Great Brunch! Food, atmosphere and service all were top notch.

Aline Sutton

Amazing food for true foodies. Be prepared to be impressed. Respectable selection of wines.

T. Topper

Great brunch and a very friendly, professional wait staff. Highly recommend.

J Holmes

Fantastic experience today, starting with a Sundaycinnamon and sugar encrusted pastry with two house made sauces. The southern style chicken and biscuits had an understated herbing that was simply sublime. At Jonathan's enthusiastic insistence, I acquiesced and tried the bacon. It was marbled and striped with fat, cooked perfectly. Allowing myself to be convinced may have been the best decision I made today, second only to deciding to drive through Clifton and check for a brunch menu at Trummer's. We concluded with a to go order of the seasonal cheese cake (in an plain white folded box, elegant in it's unassuming simplicity), and were surprised with a drop of two gin cocktail with a floated bit of sage. The current menu matches the decor and history of the former hotel; it is beautiful and old and refreshingly real. My day is better for having visited.

Michael Holmes

Unique food for sure .. good, just not regular meat and potatoes.

martin dullea

Great wait people. Food was great?

Charles Hamilton

My wife and I just went here for our 2nd anniversary. We had a fantastic evening. We put ourselves at the mercy of the chef and we were very impressed. Every single course was excellent. The dishes were well planned and the presentation was top notch. Most importantly everything was incredibly delicious. I've never had grits that delectable before in my life. The chefs tasting menu is a very good value and a wonderful experience. I highly recommend trying it of you have not done it before.

Good not great. For the price, you would expect better. Waiter forgot the drink order. Then charged for it on the check. He removed it when I pointed out the error but how many people actually check? Overall not a bad experience but for the cost you would expect much better.

Enjoyed their Thanksgiving meal. Service was great for the first half of the meal and then I couldn't even get a water refill. The restaurant was freezing too!

Austin Southern

Excellent dining experience. I highly recommend trying the multi-course meal with wine pairings.

This is the perfect place for a night out or a nice brunch. You need reservations for the main room or you can eat in the bar downstairs. The main room has skylights and picture windows so it's very light and airy. The food was delicious. See went for brunch and I really enjoyed the shrimp and grits. The cocktails were awesome too. I would go back next time I have a special occasion.

Service a bit slow - each round our drink glasses sat empty for a few minutes before the server came back. Food was A+ for presentation, but tasted only OK and in small portions. As others mentioned, you're paying for the atmosphere. Nothing too negative about this place, but I don't think the meal was worth the $200+ spent for two people. Best brussel sprouts I've ever had, though. The staff was very professional and courteous.

This has to be one of the best places we've eaten at in the DC area! The various dishes were creatively put together and included many flavors in each one. Even something as plain as a roll was interesting. The dining room was a very pleasant to dine and the service was top-notch.We'll definitely be back...soon!

Loved everything about this resturant. All of the employees my party interacted with were welcoming and acomindating. The chief made modifications to the dishes that met all of our dietary needs, and everything was fresh and tasty! The ambience is absolutely stunning! Will definitely revisit.
