I am amazed this restaurant has survived as long as they have. They at least have a better atmosphere now with the redecorated inside. The staff is wonderful and the food is OK. That's where the positive stops. They are severely overpriced. They are trying to be trendy and not doing a good job really. The menu is not accurate. Their takeout is always inconsistent. It depends on who is cooking that day. The chicken is almost always overcooked and the shredded chicken always has something that doesn't look like chicken inside. Who covers plantain's in mole sauce and refried beans? No, I will instead go to Los TelTacos. Sorry folks, I gave you yet another try and you failed...

I love their fajitas and salsa... but today's take away order surprised me with barely sauteed veggies... let me restate that... a barely sauteed FULL onion with 4 slices of red pepper. Not quite up to par today. Very disappointed.

Big disappointment, visited this location on a friday afternoon not busy at all the bar was crowded but the dining area was near empty there was nobody at the front to greet you and assign you a table... had to wait. The service staff seemed to be very disorganized appears they were training new staff. The food was nothing very disappointing my wife had the chicken poblano and I ordered the lomo saltado both were luke warm when we got them, meat was tough and the poblano sauce did not care for, I guess it is an acquired taste. What really saved the evening was the churros with ice cream. Would I return? No.. I believe they have a lot of work to do on the service side and the menu as well, this is the reason why I refuse to eat out most of the time is mediocre food, expensive, full of salt with bad service but I like to support the businesses in my neighborhood I believe T'kla has a lot of work to do if they want to gain more clientele.

I will start of by saying it is a beautiful location. The decor is really nice and the place is small but quaint. The staff is friendly but can get distracted and forget to come back for refills and such. The food is ok, not great but ok. It is really close to home but isnt a place that would be a "go to" for us.

We love coming here for authentic Mexican tacos and other snacks. The owner sometimes comes to your table and explains how all the different meats are made for the tacos. It's all super fresh and authentic.. you can taste it in the spices! I've been to Mexico a couple of times and the tacos at T'kila are the only ones that compare! Their drinks could be better though, as the happy hour Margarita I had was a bit weak and took very long to get to my table.

This place is LEGIT. As in it is really good, and also it is really legitimate Latin food. Tortillas made in-house. Chorizo had just the right amount of spicey. Nachos had beans, meat, cheese, and smaller fixings. Excellent. They didn't skimp on anything. House salsa was a little smokey with just enough cilantro. Service was helpful and attentive. Prices were acceptable. Fed my family of 5 for $55 (two kids, one infant, no alcohol) I will definitely eat here again.

Chips and salsa upon sitting down - best salsa I've ever had. Pureed, not chunky and has a peppery smokey taste. I ordered a grilled chicken entree that came with cheesy white rice and refried beans. All of it was gone when I was done, so yummy! Perfect portions. My drink was a mojito and it was a perfect compliment to my meal. I highly recommend this place if you're in the mood for Mexican food and some quick and courteous service.

Extremely good bar drinks, great selection. Food comes out hot, appetizing and satisfies. Very good atmosphere, great seating. I always get the fajitas and do combos of either steak, chicken or shrimp. I get the guacamole that is made table side ( last time the avocados were ROCK hard and it was terrible, but usually this is amazing!) I should have asked for new guacamole because it was 11$ but I didn’t. Always afraid to send food back, I’d never want to piss off the kitchen staff. Please go here! I highly recommend it!

I'm sad this place went downhill. I don't plan to return and I hope they go back to how they used to be months ago.

Tried the guacamole and cheese appetizers. They were pretty good and the guacamole was very flavorful. Had the chicken poblano with mole sauce. The sauce was pretty good. Also tried the fish taco and the al pastor taco. Being from San Diego, the fish taco was close to the ones that I had there and in Mexico. The al pastor taco was yummy! The pork belly was nice and crispy and had a lot of flavor.

came in a few nights ago to try out the local Mexican eats. I was greeted by the hostess who was very polite and sat us down right away. Noah greeted us with chips and salsa plus a few waters. He recommended the Cadillac margaritas. They were a little pricey but they were the best margs I’ve had since my time down south. Noah was very polite and when I asked for 6 tacos he said he’ll take care of me. The tacos were amazing! Tinga and the “secret” alambre was the best. But even the fish tasted great. Noah! Good luck at jmu. And ‘jc’, do something to keep him around... don’t let him go to college

EDITED-- I used to love this place and I'm only giving them 3 stars because their food is good. Best Mexican food in Loudoun County, but the service has gone down the last couple times we came here to eat. My recent visit was with my family, a few weeks ago and received the worst service. It was really disappointing, especially we've been a loyal customer for over 3 yrs. The server clearly didn't want to work or too busy chitchating with other workers. We had to remind her about a drink order that she clearly forgot, since it was over 20 mins after ordering. She then gave a snappy reply and walked away to place the drink order. She then returned with the said drink 5 minutes later with no apology or anything. After that, she pretty much ignored us until our food was delivered. We had to ask other servers to fill up our waters. It was busy, but I've seen them much busier than that night and our service was great then. Behind our table, people were leaving without food being delivered. It was a complete mess. The manager then pulled all employees and had an emergency meeting after that. I'm not sure if we will be returning again. Management needs to fix their staffing or they'll lose more loyal customers like us. It's really unfortunate, since I loved their food.

I have to revise my review. They recently changed management and while they upgraded their interior they sadly downgraded their foods and drinks. I ordered a standard margarita and my wife ordered a sangria. I couldn't taste the tequlia in mine my wife compared hers to juice. Then the food was okay but they messed up the orders a bit. The only redeeming part was the guac and salsa. Sorry, but they need to make their mixed drinks have a kick and do a slight food revamp before i would consider a trip back.

Today was a long day of meetings, and after a cancelled flight and a bunch of rearranging my schedule I finally remembered supper at 8pm. Enter tKila. From the moment I walked in I was being helped, I mentioned a dietary restriction and got 6 recommendations and a walkthrough of the menu. But the best part was the food, I jokingly say that I judge resturants by what they start you with, chips, rolls, sampler. The chips were fantastic, the smoked salsa was good, but took a minute to warm up to. I ordered veggie fajitas which were out of this world. It improved my whole evening. I am considering how to get stranded at Dulles again.

This is a fairly decent spot to eat. I know the guac starter is fantastic and it is made at the table. I always get the steak and chicken fajitas and they are always amazing. The reasaurant seems to have a high turn over rate. I always see new faces and its a pretty much a hit or miss on the service with that being said. The owner always seems to be walking around checking on tables as well. Overall great food with decent customer service. Would definitely recommend.

Our new Stone Ridge BNI group meets Wednesday mornings at t'Kila at 7:30 am. Great food and outstanding atmosphere. The owner, JC and his staff are very helpful. Also, my 15-year old son had his birthday party at t'Kila and all of his friends really liked t'Kila. I gave them a choice of Glory Days or t'Kila to have his birthday party and he picked t'Kila. I'm nervous about posting a review, I really want to keep this place a secret. :-) Stumbled upon this gem of a Latin restaurant last summer. The tacos are fantastic! Small corn tortillas topped with many different meats to choose from. The flavors are incredible! Great margaritas, a neat house made limeade, and the best salsa I have ever tasted. Service is attentive and atmosphere is pleasant. Happy hour food and drink specials at the bar from 3-8! Don't pass up the opportunity for a fantastic drink or meal. You'll love it!

Marta was exceptional with the rest of staff! Table-side made guacamole gave me ASMR - or close to it - and was delicious!! The lava bowls helped keep the guacamole cold and fresh for our whole meal. Don’t be shy about asking about menu items! We ordered tacos and our favorite was al pastor. The corn on the cob passed by the table and sadly we had order before we knew about it, but it’s the legit corn on the cob! Can’t wait to go back. Also their tequila bar is full of options if you enjoy it!

I have to say, first impression( out side curb appeal / parking) is most important but so is the second: seating. I came with my husband and the seating we rcvd was awful. We were great full of the no waiting time but so not lucky landed at the table in the middle of the "floor." I took one star off for that. The place is pretty packed on Friday night but no wait. The business died down right after we were there about 15 minutes (7pm~). The servers are very young and friendly and gives the restaurant a home feel. No suit and ties here but lots of children and family crowd. Food: Free chips and salsa!! Ole!!! I would have walked out if not, bc that's the point of going to a Mexican restaurant wouldn't u say? Kind of like an Italian restaurant without bread and olive oil dip... why would u go there!? The salsa is smoky runny, similar to u cle Julio's except this is Cold. Chips are the thick crunchier kind ( which honestly I think it should thin and crispy).... won't penalize on that as it is preference. We order chicken fajita and fish taco and queso fundido. Chicken fajita looks like a leans cuisine meal. First of all it came on a plate with multiple sections... not the real deal hot plate sizzling in your face style. Second it was small. Third it really tasted like it looked, meh. My fish taco was amazing on the other hand. Pan fried nice piece of white flaky fish with a salty pan fried crust on it and light coleslaw ( could use more coleslaw) but it was spot on. Queso fundido was out of this world amazing- highly recommended if u go! Fajita? - stay Clear of the freaking fajita!!!

The salsa and margarita to start were really good. I tried three tacos; beef tongue, fish, and chicken tinga. The chicken was great and I ordered a second one. The beef tongue was a little too salty and the fish was not good, probably frozen. The slaw with the fish taco was good though. My wife ordered the enchiladas which were ok, the black beans too salty, and the rice was decent. Stick to margaritas and chicken tinga tacos and your are in for a great meal.

The food here is AMAZING! the service is not. They're not rude, they just seem to hire servers with no experience and then don't train them AT ALL. That being said, the food is so flavorful that we just deal with it. If you know to expect it, it's almost laughable... we brought a large group of friends in from out of town... their son wanted a Shirley temple. They asked if they could put extra cherries in it... we even joked with the server about bonus cherries! sure enough... Shirley temple came out with half a strawberry in it??? What?! Also, they should maybe print enough menus that people don't have to share when the restaurant is only 1/3 full

I had such a great experience at t'Kila. Our server was so polite and very accommodating. The food was so good I would definitely come back with more of my friends and families. From the moment I stepped inside the restaurant I felt as if I was in good hands. The manager, Marta, was so kind . She was very welcoming and she made sure we were content with our food. Even though it was busy, the service was still great. It is also a great place to watch a game too!

We love this place! It's great for a happy hour, a fun girls night out, and dinner with the family! My kids LOVED to go the past two Cinco de Mayo celebrations with their live band. Food is fresh, service is friendly and prompt!!

I had such a great experience at t'Kila. Our server was so polite and very accommodating. The food was so good I would definitely come back with more of my friends and families. From the moment I stepped inside the restaurant I felt as if I was in good hands. The manager, Marta, was so kind . She was very welcoming and she made sure we were content with our food. Even though it was busy, the service was still great. It is also a great place to watch a game too!

The food was great! I really liked the decorations and the overall environment! The music and the service were really cool too. The portions are just right, they do not serve like if 3 people were going to eat from the same dish, and at least for me this is a plus. The strawberry lemonade was really good! The 'camarones a la diabla' were just awesome, not to mention those delicious refried black beans! The prices were reasonable. Definetly a restaurant that is now among my favorites.

Short story: they had empty tables with no one in front of us but told me I had to wait for 40 minutes because we were a party of two. Long story: This is a review not of their food but on their service. My husband and I went here for dinner, we were excited to try this place out since it has such "great" reviews, the place was busy but there was no one waiting for a table. I approached the hostess when she told me that they are very busy and it would be a 20 minute wait to seat 2 people. I looked around and saw three tables empty. I said that was fine and I sat down in their waiting area. About 5 minutes later the hostess comes to me and tells me that she spoke to her manager and I would have to wait 40 minutes for a table of two. As she's telling me I see two more couples leave. They obviously care more about having larger parties to look more busier. So unfortunate.

Was not expecting this place to be so big and nice, you wouldn't think so from the looks of it on the outside. I came on a slow day for a late lunch. Was the only one there and so the service was extra attentive and I really appreciated that. The food was spectacular good quality food it was on the pricey side but I would definitely come back again.

Portion sizes might be smaller than other restaurants, but what they lack in quantity they more than make up for in quality, one of the best restaurants in the area. I am completely baffled as to why it isn't jam packed every night. Hidden gem??

Tkila has over 100 tequilas on their menu thus the name of the restaurant. In the past I tried several tequila flights, but be prepared to walk home or catch an Uber or Lyft. Many of the tequilas are smooth enough to sip. If you are lucky the Owner, JC will be in and he can tell you more about many of the tequila they offer. You can tell tequila is his PASSION. The food is ALWAYS FRESH. I went in the other day for lunch and tried the chicken fajitas. They were very good and fresh as most of the food it. I am not a big sauce person, so if you order them ask for the sauce on top of the chicken on the side. The other picture is of de suadero (braised roasted & grilled beef brisket). The restaurant has some updates with the massive wall of famous Latinos and Hispanics that is the length of the restaurant (my picture doesn't do the wall justice). I normally have the Carne Asada (grilled skirt steak) with chimichurri, sauteed vegetables (onions and peppers), refried beans (no pork) and because of my dairy allergy I have fried plantains. I have tried to order Carne Asada at other restaurants including in Miami and nothing compares to Tkila's. It is normally quite during lunch. However if you want to go for Happy Hour get there early because the place is usually packed. And don't forget to order some guacamole that is prepared table side.

Went for taco Tuesday and was more than impressed. The taco's were amazing and one I'd the best margarita's I have ever had. Only giving 4 stars because we waited 30+ minutes to receive the check while our server was on his phone.

The food (tacos for me) is good, prices and margaritas are great! I felt the service was a bit rushed for how few people were in the restaurant, but I think our waiter was the only one on the floor when we got there in which case I could understand. I'd go back to explore again!

AMAZING food. The server could boast a little less about her knowledge, and DEFINITELY apologize less for interrupting (she was great otherwise, so no need to keep saying she was sorry), but the tacos we're of the gods... Anyone who loves spicy like I do needs to ask for the habanero sauce to try... Truly wonderful! Our server was training a new waitress, who was quite good and respectful. She will be great! We will be back to put her through her paces, and hope that the place has an even more extensive menu for dinner and drinks by then.
