My family loves this place. Good service, good food, food is always fresh and fast! Friendly waiters. We witnessed a waitress walk over to a table that had a fussy toddler. She picked up the little girl, started dancing and singing to her and took her to the front for candy while the parents enjoyed a few minutes of a quiet lunch. Absolutely love this place!!

The service was horrible. They rushed us because they were getting ready to close. They forgot 2 of the items we ordered and when we asked about them the lady said “oh we are sorry they burned it, did you want me to pack it to go?” If we hadn’t asked about it then she wouldn't have even been proactive about telling us. The manager rushed us from the moment we walked in. The food wasn’t that good and to top it off the service was bad. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. There are plenty of other places around which offer great food and great service!

Not good ordered fajitas. The meat was in tiny pieces dry and tough. No cheese on the plate to put on them .A tiny drop of sour cream. Waitress was not pleasant!!

Not a good experience they are charging 18% gratuity if your party spends $100 or more. We dined with 4 people and were automatically charged the 18% per person! RIDICULOUS. Will not return!!

I had the the Hawaiian fajitas everything tastes like it came out of a can nothing fresh even the free chips had no taste. Convenient location to travelers staying near the airport that want a step (or two) above one of the local Waffle Houses. Typical Americanized Mexican fair; the food is plentiful and in general quite delicious. Some of the staples are lacking; such as the tortilla chips tasting bagged, the beans tasting canned, and the lettuce feeling a bit mealy. Overall, the reason I gave The Patron three stars was due to the service. The service was slow, our appetizers were forgotten, and the drinks were not replenished quickly at all. I'd recommend The Patron for anyone that likes a decent selection, decent food, and a slow-paced Mexican experience.

Pros: The service was great. Cons: The food was totally flavorless. No spice at all. The margaritas were pure sugar. Salsa was bland. It seems this place has been dumbed down and “Americanized” removing all authenticity and flavor from the food. Must be what Virginians like.

Ever since El Patron was purchased by The Patron this place has hit rock bottom compared to the live music the lively brothers who ran the previous restaurant. The owner here is not sociable almost never smiles and just looks miserable all the time! The service is horrible, but I keep coming back here and giving the chances for improvement nope nope nope it just hasn’t happened. We waited once time for over 15 minutes for our table to be created and another 10 minutes for our very distracted server to take our orders. By the time time our lunch came out it was time to go. Tables around us was complaining about how the server would leave before they finished speaking and how he just didn’t get the order right! The food. Large portions. Average pricing but the food is bland. No seasoning at all. I mean NONE! I can not in all honest recommend this place in good faith.

Came in here an really liked the vibe and the place... but probably the worst chicken burrito I’ve ever eaten. Plain shredded chicken, burrito fell apart and wasn’t tightly wrapped, no sauces or anything special, just plain, bland and boring.

This is my go to spot for tasty mexican good and humongous goblets of frozen strawberry margaritas that pack a punch!! The food is always fast to come out and steam rolling off the plate nice and hot! The customer service is there is exceptional and they make everyone feel invited. Good to take the kids or a nice romantic dinner with your "boo".lol The ambience is nice as well, totally decorated and good lighting! The location is ideal as well because it us right off the highway. 5 thumbs up!!!!

Good food and good service. The Patron restaurant has mexican food that is high quality and quite good. There are not many surprises here, pretty standard fare for a mexican restaurant. One thing they need to work on is their cheese dip. It is not spicy at all and I expect a bit of heat from the queso. Their taco salad was quite good, and they do take special requests to modify dishes (remove X add Y etc) and are quite pleasant about it. While I seldom partake of this restaurant, it is mainly due to it's location not being very convenient for me.

The service here is TERRIBLE. We have given this place so many chances because it's close and convenient but every time we leave disappointed. The servers are rude and are never around when you need something. We tried sitting at the bar next time hoping for a better experience but we actually ended up leaving before ordering because the bartender disappeared for at least 20 minutes after taking our drink order. The food isn't anything special either

Easy location to see from main road and get to, very nice atmosphere, and fantastic service. We got chips and salsa as soon as we made it to our seats. The food came out very quickly and was hot (fresh). They make the guacamole right at the table so its super fresh and very tasty. Three prices are great and they even have taco Tuesdays where tacos are only $1 when you buy a drink. I recommend for anyone to have this as their Mexican restaurant spot!

I brought my family out to eat, to the celebrate a great achievement. I would have paid anything (oh wait I did... $100.00 for one mom and two girls)!!! My food took 10 minutes longer than my girls food took and all I ordered was a silly combination plate. My food was undercooked and the cheese was not even melted (just don’t order cheese dip because it isn’t melted either). As we finished, I decided to use the restroom. I found out that there was no toilet paper in any of the 3 women’s stalls, as well as the soap dispenser was EMPTY! I came out of the restroom and asked for soap, because I needed to wash my hands and I was told sorry and they did not have anymore. Do they expect nobody to notice? I asked about the men’s room? He said yes, it has soap. I then went to the men’s room and found toilet paper in all stalls as well as soap, thank God!!! So ladies... don’t try to go to their bathroom before you eat because you may have to eat with soiled hands... and just so that you know, I saw female workers there and they didn’t know where the soap was either. I cannot even! Never again! WOWWWW

This is a great Mexican food place in a surprising location. You would not expect a restaurant connected to a couple of hotels to be above par but Patron's is. They have a huge menu to choose from with all the standards but do yourself a favor and flip to the back pages and look at the chef specialties. Great salsa great ships excellent service. You can tell that the staff cares about their customers. Bit of a kitschy atmosphere but stout Margaritas make up for it

I was there for lunch, the server was nice. He was also helpful with suggestions. My wife had the chicken fajitas and I had the California Burrito. The server had recommended the fajitas and if you were really hungry you couldn't go wrong work that choice. We took half of it home and that was the lunch portion. This restaurant is close to the airport and is much larger than I expected. The food came out quickly and very hot. Do not touch the plates, you have been warned.

Patron is one of my favorite places to go to have a good meal. The customer service here is awesome as well and I always brings your food out hot. If they mess it up they redo it no questions asked and the plates are filled with food. Its tasty, authentic and fresh. You cannot leave without getting the biggest goblet of frozen strawberry margaritas! Even though it comes in 3 sizes, the mega-goblet does it for me everytime! The margaritas also come in different flavors. Good for a lunch or dinner with your buddies or your boo, you have to try it once!

While we were greeted by David with smiles upon arrival we were abandoned for the next 90 minutes. I had to retrieve David who promptly dismissed me when I asked for tortillas that were supposed to arrive 10 minutes earlier with our meal. Even then they delivered the tortillas 5 minutes later and without plates upon which to prepare our fajitas. When we were ready to leave the waiter seemed aghast and offended that we were complaining about the horrid service and overcooked meal. Unfortunately this is the closest restaurant to the Richmond Homewood Suites; I would surely recommend you stop prior to checkin rather than patronize The Patron.

The food is great!! Very tasteful and not overpowering of any one ingredient. The server let me down, big time. I was dining alone and alone is just what it was. Half way thru my lunch my iced tea was empty... It stayed that way until I was done eating and about 5 minutes after. She then came to my table after passing by it frequently during this time, and asked if I wanted more to drink... I just said no, got the check, paid and left. I'm sure it may not happen often, but once is enough to lose a customer. Again, awesome food, maybe if you have a party of at least 2, service will be better. Check on their webpage for coupons.

Very disappointing. This used to be my favorite. Food was cold, our friends food was forgotten. No attempt to help correct the issue was made. Honestly, I was heartbroken. I even had to contact american express to remove a charge from my bill, even after "adjusting" it with the manager. I was charged incorrectly. I have another favorite in the area, but it is far away. I will go there from now on when visiting. So sad.

The worst restaurant experience I ever had! We had a large group come out to celebrate their sheriff's deputy graduation. It took two hours for us to get food, and when it was served it was cold and dry. Then it took a hour to get the check. The manager didn't seem to really care or the waiters. I will never go back or recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Will absolutely never return. Waitress took 15 minutes to even acknowledge us. Manager eventually got us a drink.. then we ordered, 3 times waitress came back to "verify" my order. It was simple, steak tacos. No special requests, exactly like on the menu. My boyfriend ordered a taco salad, again no requests. We also ordered cheese dip. After 15 minutes of no dip, we asked, she tried to say "oh I thought you wanted it with your food" who wants an appetizer with their food???? Best part? I found shrimp legs and carcass in my STEAK tacos. This was the first experience I've ever had at a restaurant. And before you ask - no there was no language barrier her English was perfect, we would have considered that before being upset if we truly believed she didn't understand. The shrimp trash was unacceptable though. I didn't touch the rest of the food. It was horrible.

The server was overwhelmed. We were a group of 20. The fan was broken, the sweltering heat on the veranda didnt help. The sliding doors were letting the flood come in. It was raining so can't blame them for that. No other servers were helping the poor girl out. I could see that the rest of their crew was just hanging out by the bar. Dont know where the manager was but she or he needed to step up. I ordered the tierra mar (surf and turf) my chicken was dry and overcooked and completely bland. Tried one of my 3 shrimp and it was bland. The same with the bell peppers and the rice. Added salt and some salsa so that I could get it down. It took about 20 min to get water refill and another half hour to get the cheese sauce I ordered on the side. I was one of the fortunate ones.
