One of my favorite restaurant and brewery in Sterling! They have a great selection of draught beers! The Ozzie rolls are definitely a must try and my favorite thing of the restaurant. The queso dip is one of the best things on the menu. This restaurant is great for quick lunches, or laid back dinners! A must visit.

Absolutely excellent. I'm visiting the area for work and I've been here 6 or 7 times in 2 weeks, simply because the service is outstanding. Courtney, Eric, and Jack were exceptionally courteous, although I must say that the entire staff is comprised of high quality talent. I don't have any complaints, and neither do my colleagues that came with me. Thank you for making my experience memorable!

We are very sorry to have to give this rating to Sweetwater but our treatment here was unacceptable this evening. Sweetwater is part of the Great American Restaurants chain with a American Frontier motif. However, you should be warned that they do not support the Constitution of the United States of America, in particular the 2nd Amendment. After we arrived for our call ahead and were given our pager for dinner, our adult son was told they do not allow firearms in their restaurant and that he needed to go and put his gun in the car. Please note, there is no signage stating that firearms are not permitted in their restaurant. Needless to say, we did not stay for dinner. We find it shameful that a restaurant that would use an important part of American history to promote their restaurant then turn their back on the very foundations that made it possible.

Disappointing service: We had lunch on the patio on a Saturday. First we had to wait some 10 minutes for a waiter, and the young man who finally came over did not greet us, nor did he introduce himself. He just stood there and stared at us. This is the weirdest (non-)service experience we have ever had at a restaurant. At least the food was OK.

Pretty good little spot - beers have a good selection. Apps are pretty limited and very much American style fare - cheese/cream based for the most part. Would love to see alittle variety in the starters and small plates! Overall good and would stop back for a beer and a snack

I moved down here about 5 years ago, and my friends have been recommending Sweetwater Tavern for about that same length of time. The location is a bit out of my way, though, so I just never ended up there. Today, I happened to find myself in the area and hungry, so I finally went. Two words: holy cow. I was definitely missing out and can see why everyone told me that this was THE place to eat in town. The decor was neat--a rustic (yet strangely elegant) saloon-style with private seating and unique touches of art--and the waiters and waitresses were attentive, personable, and efficient. But while these things were all wonderful in their own rights, it was the food that truly stood out to me. We started our meal with some of the most delicious rolls I've ever eaten. They were warm and had a sweet flavor, almost as if they were lightly coated in sugar that was cooked until it formed a thin, hard glaze. The butter had its own sweetness to it, but it was not overly sugary. The combination of the two left my mouth watering and wishing I could have a plate of those instead of my entree. Luckily for me, my wish didn't come true. I ordered the half chicken meal, and I swear I think I could eat it every day for the rest of my life. Both the white and dark meat were cooked absolutely perfectly--tender and moist, with a rich flavor throughout. It had a smokey, barbeque flavor on the skin, but not so much that it tasted like full-on BBQ chicken. The brown butter sauce was tangy and added a new dimension to the flavor profile, and I found myself scraping my fork on the plate after I had finished, trying to get one last taste. The mashed potatoes were rich without being thick and pastey; they had a nice flavor, and you could tell they were homemade. There was a corn relish on the side that had such a complex flavor that I chewed it with my eyes closed, savoring every taste that came to me. Vinegar? Peppers? Whatever it was, it was delicious. This meal was quite possibly one of the best I have ever had in my life. I wish that I had tried a dessert; the bread pudding sounded fantastic. Perhaps next time, because I definitely will be going back--SOON!

Great food,friendly staff and good environment. Had the Ribeye and it was good. Also had their soft shell crab that was in season and that was pretty good. The best thing is the bread they give you like donut holes and my favorite was the dessert. Cant recall the name but oh my it was delicious!! Would certainly recommend this place to others.

This review is for take-out only. I have been ti the restaurant many times and would give 4.5-5 stars based on just that. While Sweetwater is an amazing restaurant and the addition of online ordering for take-out is something I'm sure a lot of people were excited about, I really don't recommend it. I ordered the corn & crab chowder and the chop house salad. The crab chowder came in a very small container, which I'm doubtful is the same serving size as eating at the restaurant, and my salad was missing the cheese and only had two croutons (really just one broken in half). These are two of my favorite things to order in house so I was pretty disappointed. Also—when you order take-out they don't automatically include bread. So if you want some, make sure to mention it at pick-up! Again, I love Sweetwater Tavern and all the food and people there. They've been the same for at least a decade now and they've really nailed it. So go in to get the good experience, don't cheapen it by ordering to-go.

Wow! Came here on a recommendation and was blown away. Decore reminds me of a road house grill and knowing they are part of chain I wasn't expecting much. Man the food was phenomenal..salmon- sushi grade was perfection, the Monatray salad..was amazing..the side of roasted brusel sprouts had me wanting to order more... burgers, pasta, chicken fingers were also on the table and all were really great. Service was good and beers were good. Have the stout!

LOVE this place. Nathaniel (who is new) was AWESOME! Got a bourbon smash, which I've had before, and it was watered down. Tasted like they forgot the bourbon. The New Zealand sauvignon blanc was a good replacement. I normally get the salmon but decided to try the crab cakes tonight....DELICIOUS!

Our experience was great. We even had a server-in-training and she, Alma, was fabulous. This restaurant offers a lot of seafood. I am not a seafood eater but found many alternative choices. I chose the warm goat cheese and spiced pecan salad with added chicken breast. My salad was delicious. My margarita was fantastic as well, not too sweet and had an ample amount of tequila. I recommend this establishment with one caution, you may throughly enjoy your meal, drinks and overall experience!

This is my go to for last minute ideas of what am I gonna eat. It's always clean. The staff is always nice. The good is good and if there is something wrong, the manager on duty will promptly correct it to the best of their ability. I get the chopped salad quite often.

This is my favorite spot in NOVA. The prices are reasonable (although creeping up) and the food is consistently top quality. I can't say that about any other restaurant in the area. I got the 5 star prime rib and definitely deserves the rating. Stellar cut and cooked perfectly. The calamari was an incredible surprise. It was cooked perfectly as well and the lobster sauce was delicious. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. 10 stars on a 5 star scale.

The bread they give you at the beginning of the meal is great. The drinks are fizzy and flowing. The food is hot and fresh and tasty. The service was friendly. Initially we went in during a lunch time and they said we had a 40 minute wait and we had a table for five within 7 minutes. What can I complain about? I've been dining here for 10 years . It has been and most recently was awesome.

Yum! That's the only word to describe this place. The chicken dish is amazing and the chopped salad is hands down my favorite salad! I come here with my husband frequently and we bring all of our visiting friends here as well. This place is our favorite restaurant and is consistent with service and food. We usually ask or the Hickory BBQ or the Babyback Ribs, however some of our friends swear by the salmon. If you plan on visiting on the weekends, make a quick reservation as seating can sometimes fill up fast. Whether you’re out for a beer with friends or on date night, Sweetwater has a nice beer menu, kickass food and a great atmosphere. All round great restaurant!

This place is a MUST if you are ever in the DMV. Superb food and excellent service. Loved everything I ate but things to try especially are: 1) THE AUSSIE ROLLS......simply to die for. Man what a disappointment we had on our last visit to Sweetwater! I was bragging to my family about them having the best drunken ribeye steak in the USA. Then this happens.. I order a coke. Glass was completely filled with ice and I just asked the waiter on my refil to not put as much ice in it. He came back and handed me my coke and told me that the barman said that I will from now onward pay for each glass of coke because I asked for less ice to be put in. We were so put of by this petty reaction that we just left!! But luckily I found another restaurant chain that makes an even better ribeye steak!!

Sweetwater Tavern is hands down my favorite restaurant in Northern Virginia! They have a menu that features their twist on many local favorite dishes, but with a southern/southwestern flair. You really can't go wrong with any menu selection here. The food quality is consistently 5-stars and the value is superb. Sweetwater also brews their own beer, and is one of the first microbreweries in the area. But don't fear, they also have a decent selection of spirits and wine as well.

Probably the best restaurant in Sterling. Several of the staff members have been there for several years, and it is always consistently clean. Service is consistently excellent. Restrooms are clean. Kitchen can be seen from several different locations in the restaurant and looks clean as well. They have a great operation here, and I wish that the ownership would open another of their other types of restaurants here in the Sterling area.

Couldn't find any meatless options so I went for the bacon cheese burger, it was okay and fries were good yet super small and thin. The waiter who didn't even introduce himself was also just okay, when asking about how good the pineapple juice was he responded with "you've never had pineapple juice?" I said well not at This place, but anyways he brought it and it was meh, had to put lots of sugar, funny knowing how sweet actual pineapple fruit is. He didn't come around asking how everything was and just asked for refills. My sister didn't like the bbq ribs but she chose not to tell him for some reason, just some feedback, she's okay with anything and that was really shocking. We tipped him a total of $30 bucks over a $117 (tax included) bill, I still think he didn't deserve it, he did his job, but a server is supposed to go above and beyond regardless. I'm a server myself and I know how it feels and at least I could've smile AT LEAST ONCE, Introduce myself and be more friendly. His attitude was subpar, under average. Nothing special. Guy with a manbun. Sadly can't remember his name as he never said it. Not coming back. Food and service are meh, just okay.

We have been a number of times and it has never been this bad. I ordered my normal drunken ribeye with a large side of mushrooms. Instead I was brought a bake potato with bacon bits. They also got my wife order wrong, she ordered the Firecracker Shrimp but instead got the shrimp critters and her Armareto Sour was awful. We will not be going back there for a long while if ever.

I had the jambalaya pasta, the crispy fish tacos with habanero coleslaw, lobster bisque, corn and crab chowder, and the bread pudding. Every last thing on that table was delicious and i wanted to move into the restaurant. Im already ready to go back and its only been one day. Highly recommend this place if your in the area.

I brought a friend here for lunch for her birthday celebration. It was the perfect place! Easy to access fro Route 7 in Sterling, VA, we were seated in a lovely room that gave us a view of the nearby lake. We were served very quickly and we loved our Monterey salads. They brought out a birthday dessert and even took a photo of us afterwards. It was a luncheon to treasure.

Excellent local chain in Northern Virginia with fresh beers made in-house. Food and service are consistently great and I have used Sweet Water as date night for many years. They serve their famous "Ozzie Rolls" just as all the Great American Restaurants do - they are fried dough balls, very tasty! I highly recommend the "Jambalaya Pasta", "Roasted Half Young Chicken", or their Prime Rib, "blackened". For a healthier option, try their" Smoked Grilled Salmon Salad". Sweet Water is the best American restaurant around the Dulles Mall so stop here for dinner after shopping!

Great food and service! Lots of nice seating options, bar, ac interior, patio and outdoor terrace. All within sight of waterfront. Beautiful decor and very clean. Enjoyed the food. Prices are reasonable. Some beer choices (not as many as they advertise) but good selections. Great place to bring friends or make new ones!

It was very good but I recommend you make reservations especially on a Saturday night. We arrived at 6:00 and was told we could be seated at 7:15 for a party of 2. We sat in the bar area until then and it wasn't bad but the table was just more personal. I had a loaded Baked potato and Cucumber, tomato and corn salad which was very good. Had a large lunch so wasn't really hunghy. We had also shared calamari at the bar while waiting. Everything was very good food and service wise.

Delicious food! Ribs were excellent and cooked perfectly. Had the chocolate waffle dessert and it was outstanding. But the most notable part of the evening was the service. There was a small glitch with our order but our waitress and the manager were so kind and made a great effort to make sure that we were happy. Couldn’t have asked for better service!

We got ceviche as an appetizer. Three of us shared the only two shrimp that were in it. The rest was nothing but onions. Disappointing considering how expensive it was. We told the waitress and she said, "Yeah, that's how it always comes."

Amazing! Great food, great atmosphere, great music, great service. I had the smoked salmon with mashed potatoes on a bed of brocolli which was great, drink of choice mango martini amazing and for dessert I asked the server if I could have the coffee with baileys and grand marnier hold the coffee lol she did it. All around great experience and the location is a PokeStop so your kids can have fun catching pokemon.
