I had the standard bacon, scrambled eggs, biscuit with home fries. I'm picky about home fries...theirs were perfect...no hard potatoes. Eggs and bacon very tasty too. I almost didn't eat the buttermilk biscuit, but SO GLAD I cheated and ate it. Quite a treat!

My family and I love this restaurant. Beside the wait to get in on a Sunday, the food is great. You can select music to play from the juke box located at each table. The decor makes you think you are back in the 80's. There are so much great things on the men to try.

I'm sad to savage the Silver Diner, but I'm done with it. It has completed its run to the upscale since cloaking itself into the Farm-to-Table movement. I went in one morning to treat myself to breakfast. In the past, they had some breakfast "blue plates" for less than ten dollars -- with various combinations of eggs, meats, hash browns, corned beef hash, or nice pancakes. Some of these combinations included juice or coffee/tea. Now, a bare bones eggs and breakfast meat order is $9.99. Omelettes run $10-$14 dollars. About the only reasonable deal is the pancakes (two), eggs and a breakfast meat for $9.99. But, add juice and/or a hot beverage, and you'll be pushing close to, or even over $20, with a decent tip (or if you add fresh fruit or something else to your order). On this particular morning, I recognized a lovely lady who has worked the counter there for years. She asked me if I'd decided what I wanted, and I told her, sadly, that I wasn't staying...that I couldn't believe what had happened to the menu and those nice blue plate breakfasts. She didn't say a treasonous word, but just flashed me a sad look. The Silver Diner calls for more silver from its customers and, save for the decor, bespeaks little of the diner. Still, can't say it keeps people from coming, and that's fine if that includes you. We just want a different experience.

Great local diner with excellent brunch/lunch. Try the sweet potato pecan pancakes if you can! If you're headed there on the weekends (particularly, during breakfast/brunch/lunch hours) prepare for a line. However, the line moves very quickly and the staff are very attentive. It also has the look and feel of a classic '50s diner (jukeboxes and all). Love.

We putzed around until it was too late to cook at home and the regular eateries had closed. I remembered Silver Diner, which is celebrating 30 years of upscale diner options. They're big on the Farm to Table motif, and it shows in a wide array of vegan and vegetarian options. We all enjoyed our meals - salmon, tofu, and the fake Beyond Burger, which our vegetarian didn't want to eat because she was afraid it was meat. (it's not). We arrived at 10pm, and the staff was idle as they braced for Clarendon's post-clubbing scene. Pleasant enough. A little pricey - about $20 a person, but if we want Chipotle prices we gotta get there in time.

I went there around 11:40 a.m. for a pickup order. One lady came to me and asked me. I told her about my pickup order which had been placed half an hour ago. Then she disappeared. After 20 mins I went to her asked about my order and she was like what is your name and what is my order?? She forgot about me even though the place was not that much busy. I wish I could give zero. But there is no option to put zero rating.

Good service. The menu has nice choices and some tasty breakfast items. I ordered a waffle with pecans, sausage and eggs. Everything had flavor, the waffle was properly crispy and the eggs were seasoned well.

Pros: local diner been there many times, wonderful service, delicious food! Recently I ordered the French toast with banana and chocolate chips and was worried it would be too sweet (I almost always get eggs for breakfast hence) but it was perfectly not too sweet! Cons: usually a wait after 10am and it’s a bit pricey for a diner.

I ordered French toast, which was rock hard with no fixings. I had to ask for butter, confection sugar, etc. I barely understood the waiter's English, which was fine but then he never came back around unless I spoke to another wait staff. The place was clean. Another corner lot, so Parking was inconveniently in the back of the restaurant, only handicap in the front. Took 15m to serve us although we were the 3rd to arrive for the day. Everyone else was served immediately. One young guy at the bar & 2 sets of guest (including us) at booths. An old man comes in (passes all the empty seats at the bar) & slams his stuff next to the young bar guest. I think he was mad the kid was sitting in His Chair lol. The young guy took it like a champ. I would've moved.

They have enormous portions! And unlimited coffee. I love the food, cocktails are okay. Be prepared for long lines on weekends because everyone loves to brunch here. The line moves fast though and there's a nice waiting area and seats while the line moves. There's parking close by. The booths are cute and staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is good, but service can be ridiculously slow even when the restaurant is half empty. Our waiter visited at 25 minute intervals. All our drinks sat empty, and having dessert added another hour. EDIT: in the following month after the original review, we visited Silver Diner in Clarendon two more times (anonymously), and had very good service both times (even speedy dessert). So the slow service we had experienced earlier must have been an anomaly. The food is really good and prices quite reasonable for Arlington, so with good service Silver Diner is a hit.

Silver dinner is the to go place in Claredndon, Arlington. They have really nourishing menu (sourced from local farms according to the place). There breakfast menu called "The breakfast Blueplates" packed enough breakfast menu items that are simple and yet just enough in portion. For $7.49 - 9.99 you can get great testing breakfast inclusive of juice and bottomless coffee. Check it out.

Pleasant experience - lunchtime on weekday, seated promptly, two servers came immediately (one was a "server in training"). When ready to order, they were friendly and readily available. We had breakfast for lunch (omelette, waffle, eggs, bacon) which came promptly, was cooked perfectly. Only minor issue was though coffee wasn't bad, it wasn't quite as fresh as I'd have liked. Lastly, final price was cheaper than most other places around (Arlington VA) - $25 for two including tax and tip. I'll be back!

All things considered, seems a little pricey for diner fare. It's tasty but I grew up with diners that popped out "Trucker special" with pancakes, eggs, sausage toast etc all for under $10. Silver diner will charge you more for Avocado toast only... I'd say it's less of a true diner more of a millennial hub.

5 stars for quality of food and service. 2 stars for price. Way overpriced for the size of the portions. Overall a very nice dining establishment. Clean, they claim to use fresh, local, organic, ingredients. The staff was friendly. There is free parking behind the building. The food was delicious. The portions were smaller then what most common diners serve. But for the price of the brunch item I ordered, it should have come with a hot drink included, even a juice, and been larger. 18 bucks (plus tip) for a breakfast item and a hot drink is way too much in my opinion.

Above average diner with great selection of classics on personal jukeboxes that operate with quarters. They have a large isolated parking lot AND free parking, which is unheard of in most of Clarendon, so it’s easy to access—also unheard of. I personally enjoy their bread pudding drizzled with caramel and served with ice cream. One of their best dessert items.

Classic and delicious! I’ve tried a variety of their dishes and have always enjoyed the expert level of flavor profiles and execution, despite the kitchen being busy whenever I visited. They offer gluten free bread and other dietary options, and on their club sandwich, it was terrific! Large parking lot usually full but in the heart of Clarendon near the Metro and other shops. Great diner that’s both clean and bright.

I've order the typical diner things such as chicken tenders with fries... French toast... I definitely liked their hot buffalo wings. All Silver Diner locations offer the freshest, most delicious food on a menu with some truly unique dishes, especially when we're talking about diners. They've banana French Toast and a variety of milkshake flavors you won't find anywhere else, as is the case for most of their desserts. For standard fare like burgers, apple pie and grilled cheese...well, Silver Diner out does them all. Service, on the other hand, is a different matter. The last time I ate at the Woodbridge location the staff was on the moon; completely disconnected. I saw "Biscuit Boy" at the Springfield location quite literally knock a co-worker over in his rush to sing to someone. Arlington is really your best bet, and then don't expect much in terms of attention to detail. ...but the food is worth it.

Neighborhood essential is a diner. This is no classic diner food it's elevated and has some great options to fit any hungry patron. They try by souring fresh, local food from the region. Decor brings you back to jukebox days....they actually work but get drowned out from loud atmosphere. Open late for post evening bar crawl in the thriving local scene. Service can be spotty but food is great and they have so many options.
