This Restaurant is classified in the category of Traditional American restaurant.
Good atmosphere for Husker game day on fall Saturday’s. I also liked that they served Jai Alai in pitchers.
Good food and friendly staff. I especially recommend the fried fish sandwich.
Stop in after walking all over DC on a group trip. Food was pretty good for the price. Service was prompt. However, I did not care for the waitress asking the teens in our party if they needed any change back after the gratuity was already added to the bill on all of our separate checks (without notice) We still ended up having to ask for the correct change to be returned. Definitely felt more like we were being husseled.
Good burgers! Great service! Check out the infused vodka of the day.
Food quality has gone down last few months
Not a bad place to get a burger. I bought the steak gyros and it was pretty good.
Great sandwiches and the outdoor dining is perfect. Only a block off the mall so close if you need beers, drinks or good food!
Good place for a beer and a burger. Stopped here to get out of the sun. I was not disappointed. Friendly server too!
Cool lil pub, good food and drinks
Great food and great staff! The patios are perfect, and inside is fun too. I can't recommend Penn Quarter enough - you need to be here!!
Food was horrible. We both got fish and I have had better school cafeteria food. It was hot inside and very uncomfortable. We almost left and wished we had after eating. One redeeming factor was the French fries but I'm not sure if they were good just that they weren't that awful fish.
Great place for drinks
Good food, average price.
Loved this place ! Great bar tender and food and for the love of God the bathroom is really nice and clean I could of had a few beers in there
Great staff.. Enjoyed myself..
The food was AMAZING. Really fast service and friendly workers.
I know, my silly name... The early evening meal with my family was very good. Under 100 even with 3 drinks. Friendly service and nice atmosphere upstairs. I would come back on our next trip.
Good food good drinks good people
Excellent blackened salmon sandwich with garlic fries!
Beer selection was super weak for a "sports tavern." Did have plenty of TVs though, on both levels.
Great old-bay wings
Chill and cozy space to watch the games. Lots of tvs! The burgers are good but make sure to ask for well done if not the meat will be in the rare (pink) side.
Great food and beer choices. The service is great!
First time, hope to get back. Food was very good. The staff was fast and friendly
Friendly staff, generally good food except for the veggies, they are loaded with garlic. Price is fair for the area.
Cold beer, courteous staff
Waiter very friendly. Fun area. They were showing an Abbot and Costello moving in the square. We sat out side , so that was fun. Cauliflower app was good as well as the DC stout.
The quesadillas were okay, the drink, wings and mac and cheese are horrible. Seriously dry wings, bland tasteless mac and cheese and too expensive to be so disgusting. Go to Smith Commons, much better food, drinks and service!
Good place to watch a big game.
Good food clean establishment nice Waiters
Terrible service. I arrived with my friend for drinks and food, sit in the last table and asked the waiter if he can connect my phone anywhere because it was dead and I needed for Uber (I provided the charger). And he was so Rude and arrogant and said that they don’t do that and less when it was a game day. We were so disappointed at his lack of touch, empathy and willingness to serve that we leave the place. Please control your employees. There are manners even if the answer was no. It was last Sunday around 3pm.
Very nice place and wonderful staff. The food was luke warm and mediocre.
Great after work spot. Variety of menu options along with an array of drinks.
Great atmosphere, great food, great beer. Fabulous
A sea of Raptors fans in the middle of Washington DC. The beverages were Frosty, and the food was good. The service was attentive and friendly even on a very busy stay on the patio.
Ideal venue to watch sports
A good place to cheer your team on
Great food,a little pricey but its DC lol
Came in here for an appetizer and a beer. Service attention noticibly dropped off after they realized we weren't going to be wracking a huge bill. Overall thou food is good and drink menu is quite good.
Great place for lunch. Great food and service. Enjoyed getting the latest in sports while having a good burger!
Great food and fast service
Great food close to everything! A little pricey. For 2 it was almost $40. Greta atmosphere though.
Great food,good prices
Friendly service. Meh beer list...but Im picky (prefer a lot more craft choices)
Food was very good. I took the family here while on a DC vacation. Portions were very large! Wife got the chicken salad wrap. It was big enough to feed two people. Son got the shrimp po' boy. Very tasty sauce with onions and peppers. I got the jerk chicken sandwich. Chicken seasoning was excellent and the meat was moist and well cooked. We ate at on off peak time for lunch. Tight quarters everywhere. TV everywhere and all on different sport channels. I imagine this place is standing room only when its busy. Restrooms were quite a surprise! You'd think they were in a 5 star hotel and not a sports bar! Very fancy and quite clean. They lost a star for inattentive servers. We were 1 of 4 seated tables upstairs. Drink refills were few and far between.
We love bringing out out of town guests here for brunch or lunch. Great atmosphere and friendly service. The breakfast tacos during brunch are my favorite. Check this place out!
On vacation from Ohio, saw this place had good ratings and was close to the Metro, thought I'd give it a try. So glad I did!! Exceptional service, good food (burger was cooked a perfect medium), and plenty of TV's to watch the game. The happy hour beer specials didn't hurt, either. I'll be letting my friends back home know that this is a great dinner option if they're ever in DC!!
This is the ultimate Sports Bar. Table Service was lacking upstairs. We moved downstairs and received fantastic service. Great food and drink in DC
This Place is awesome!! I really had a good experience. The staff is friendly and attentive. I had the Chimichurri burger, cooked medium with a side of fries. The hamburgers sauce gave the burger a wonderful taste of zest. I definitely want to come back when I revisit DC.
This is a restaurant & bar that TRULY cares! If you haven't been, you must take the time to visit! The customer service, food and drinks are outstanding!
Great spot to grab lunch, good food and reasonably priced drinks for happy hour. Small venue so it gets packed on game or concert days since it's so close to the Capital One Arena.
Great sports bar with a bunch of TV's!
I haven't ordered a dish here that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. Execution is consistent, which is more than many can claim (imo). Casual atmosphere - multiple dining areas.
Food was ok.
Good beers and service!
The service and food were great. The prime rib grilled cheese - awesome. Great place.
Solid sports bar with some pretty good food options (e.g., chicken cheesesteak). Some of the food choices do leave something to be desired, however (the burgers are fine but nothing spectacular). It gets rather crowded for big sporting events, so get there early if you want a seat. There is also outdoor seating with TVs, some of which is covered.
Amazing shrimp tacos 10/10 would eat again. Good service and constant water refills which were needed, plus a great location!
Outstanding food and excellent company if you like to bs with DC attorneys
The food was very good, moderately priced, I struggle with having to ask for refills and things of that nature. I would go back.
Staff was trying to hurry is up, got or main dish while the starter wasn't even finished
Always great atmosphere

Wings are good. O bay was well seasoned. They'll cook em hard if you ask. The ahi tuna tacos were good. You get 3 of them and very filling.
Went in on a whim on a friday. Best quesadilla ever.....veggies were so tasty and grilled to perfection. Great Turkey avocado sandwich. Clean. Attentive service. Good beer and sports!
Nice place to have lunch.
Went here while on vacation and it wasn’t amazing! Awesome service, friendly staff, and the pulled pork sandwich was delicious and kept me full for hours. Would definitely come back here!
A group of friends stopped by this sports bar that is located off the archives metro stopped. Great lineup of TV's and games and it provided all that you expect from a bar and reasonable prices. There are two levels so don't shy away from going up for more seating options.
Great service. Tasty food. Good drink options.
Menu was a bit pricey for what they offered, we thought. We were there for brunch. Wife had a salmon burger which she enjoyed, i shared eggs and cakes with my boys.
Cool spot but the food was just mediocre. I ordered the Blue Cheese Burger, and both my burger and fries were lukewarm at best. Staff was friendly and attentive at least.
This was the best place that we found to have a few drinks and watch some sports. The staff was always friendly, and the drinks were always cold. I prefer sitting upstairs, but there is not always a spot up there. The food is also pretty good, I have not had anything that I didn't like. Keep those pitchers coming during happy hour, and you are sure to have a good time for not too much cash.
This is the ultimate Sports Bar. Table Service was lacking upstairs. We moved downstairs and received fantastic service. Great food and drink in DC

Excellent food and outstanding service!
Very good service, big portions, and good food.
Food & service good
Run of the mill sports pub! No complaints or praises.
Baha fish tacos are amazing
Possibly the best onion rings I've ever had. Burgers were great. Little pricey but it's DC so it's expected.
The Moscow Mule, or their version of it is really good but isn't in a copper mug. The food was excellent. I personally had the wings and they were cooked perfectly, crispy, not soggy or breaded. I recommend the Thai Chilli flavor. A family of 4 for lunch, with regular drinks and 4 adult beverages will run you about $130+. I highly recommend giving this place a try. Also I think the upstairs seating is the best spot to sit.
Great wait staff, clean restaurant yet the good food was served cold.
Good service & nice ppl
Surprisingly good American fare at affordable pricing
They hosted our Winthrop University Alumni function and the event was great.
So so... staff not too nice...
We had a reservation set in which we were communicating with the owner, Michel (we offered a deposit because after all, we wanted to have a good time, it was decined). We were told to show up by 7pm to get accommodated for our party and were greeted my the manager who first said our reservation was at 8pm. He tried to seat us outside because there were so many parties inside already for the college football game and told us by the time 8pm reservation came around, we would still be sitting outside. By the time the organizer of our party arrived (who had email proof that we had arrangements for our party with the owner) the manager said he could accommodate us by seating us inside. We gave him the benefit of the doubt and stayed to try to enjoy ourselves. We were told that we would get a table momentarily and next thing we knew it was an hour + later and we still were not seated at a table. Our "accommodation" turned into unfulfilled promises and our party ended up leaving without good service. Their drinks were also not good. Definitely would not reccomend this place.
Amazing food. Super friendly staff.
it's a nice place and staff is nice but the drinks are trash I asked for a lite ice long island and the first drink I got tasted like I was drinking juice plus it wasnt full. I asked to have it remade by someone else and it was better but I feel as though they still didnt make it strong and once again I was shorted. I tipped only because I work in the industry and I know how hard it can be but I WOULD NOT EVER came back for the drinks they were trash
Loud and crowded but the outside tables are a great alternative in nice weather. Crowded at lunch and early afternoon. There are several adjoining and nearby alternatives. Metered street parking is available.
We stopped in to fill a few hours before we had an obligation locally. We found the place on Google Maps & what a great find it was! Nice ambiance, and us two ladies felt perfectly comfortable there. Not a meat market type of place. Would definitely go there again if we were in the area!
Great service complemented by good food and excellent drinks. Plenty of seats in or out as well as up or down. Clean excellent restrooms.
Great service and food. Not as pricey as some and you get a lot of food.
Chicken tenders were good service was ok. I hate when servers close out your bill and don't ask do you need anything else
Great food and a nice location
Most everything on the menu is great. Awesome wings and beer
Service was great. Nice selection of drinks on tap. Plenty of TVs to watch upstairs and downstairs. Prices are reasonable for a DC bar in Penn Quarter. Will go back.
Great fun, more than enough tv's for you to check out your favorite team in action, and really tasty food. I have been coming to here since the day they opened their doors. I have really seen this place transform and I wish Penn Quarter Sports Tavern much success in the future.
Great for lunch, moderately priced with a great selection of beers and liquors. Staff was awesome, I'll definitely be back.
Pitcher beer good food
Great food, great service! Not many kid portion options though.
Nice place, upstairs is cooler, temperature wise.
Great food great service
Highly recommended. Tasty (fast) Food! Good Beer. Reasonable Prices. Friendly staff. And Sports on TV. Even outside.
Good food to eat busy place to eat
My burger was a little dry, but I didn't eat it until I got 2 work. I will definitely give them another try.
Fun little local sports bar. Gets crowded quickly
This place is awesome, great to come for happy hour or with some colleagues after work. Very nice business casual environment with a twist, which is very refreshing. This spot really does represent D.C. in a good way. The drinks are great and the food is awesome. Definitely would recommend to any one looking for a chill spot to come out on game day or on any day that is!
Great food! Fast service...
Got wings per the suggestion of a previous review - exactly as amazing as was suggested! Crispy and meaty, barbecue was delicious. Lost a star due to period of time between getting drinks and seeing staff again to order food. However, bar is always packed so it makes sense! Also suggest the pomegranate mule.
Great food and they accommodated our large group (including children) patiently. Perfect break from lots of walking on the Mall.
Great place for happy hour, patio is great in all weather, very attentive staff.
Great spot to grab a casual drunk. Good for large groups
The atmosphere was great. The wings and quesadillas were great. Our server was a beast. Unfortunately, the place can get to crowded. We were there on a Friday and it was a sardine situation, packed! Anyways, it's where the locals hangout so I'm happy.
Fun vibe, good food, great service despite being slammed!
Pretty good happy hour. In my opinion they should have a little more options to choose from. But it was overall a good experience.
Really cool vibe. Waitress was very informative and really helpful. Food was exceptional and service was fast. Would definitely eat there again.
I will absolutely be going back. I got the brussel sprouts on a recommendation from someone else, and they absolutely lived up to the hype.
Great Staff and the food was terrific!!
Great place, excellent service, flexible, very very kids friendly!
Good food, good service and a good atmosphere in a location that is convenient to many of the main Washington DC attractions.
Excellent service. Burgers are really good and they have a tater tots option in replacement of ff.
Great service and Greek Salad.
Great food and amazingly friendly staff!
Good atmosphere friendly staff and the Korean BBQ tacos were tasty
I was there two times. The first one everything was perfect. The second one the place was overcrowded. I asked the waitress in the door for accommodation and told us to find a spot for ourselves. “We do not accommodate people here”, she said. “Fine, no problem” I said. Got inside to find out if some spot is available and everything is full. Got outside again and I see a woman standing up to leave. I ask her to double check and she tells me they are leaving. Great! I start to leave my things on the table and the same waitress comes to me and says “this spot is reserved for that man over there”. She points out with her finger a man standing by the main entrance. She just told me two minutes before there was no accommodation in the place!! You guys better clarify your accommodation policy. I left the place really angry.
Nice atmosphere. Great food. Great service. Also located near a train station. Great for business lunches and happy hour.
Penn Quarter was a typical Sports Bar and Grill which is the only reason I did not offer 5 stars, as I want something that makes it stand out. The food was very good, seating was ample with an area upstairs for our party of six, and plenty of TV’s for game watching. Our server was well versed in their offerings and memorized all of our orders and the quirks for each. I am always impressed by this method but have sometimes been met with a missing item. Not this time. Our server was great. The food was brought out relatively quickly, although there was not a lot of business when we first arrived. Business did pick up a bit but we found we could still comfortably carry on a conversation. After eating, we were offered dessert but found we were too full even though I heard cheesecake. Prices were fair and reasonable for the typical bar/pub experience. The facility was clean and offered an outdoor seating area too but it was close to 98 degrees so we opted for indoor seating. The close proximity to the National Archives and metro make this a great choice to refuel if you are a tourist.
Well, first things first! Hospitality is super important, being from the south. We were greeted at the end of the block by a gentleman with free water. All he asked was we take a menu for this tavern! Talk about awesome, especially in the heat of the day. We were greeted at the door, with yet another friendly hello and a welcome to sit anywhere. The service here is super prompt, and everyone is helpful. Our server got our original drive k order, another server took our appetizer order, and our original server took our food order. No stone goes unturned here.
It's pretty good. Definitely more of a small pub vibe. There's more seats outside, so more of a spring time place if you don't like heat. Or you better hope that you have seats inside. Edit: there was an upstairs that I didn't notice. 4 stars! Happy with the place
If you want a great sports bar with quality food and excellent service, this is the place! Tiffany was our (excellent) waitress and told me they are known for their burgers and wings. I’m not a big burger or wing girl, so she recommended the shrimp tacos and they did not disappoint! I would definitely come back if I was in the area...well done!
I don’t usually just give 5 stars, but here is why I did... short sweet and to the point. The service was amazing. Not only did our waiter check on us, but other ones did too. Not overbearing though. The food was amazing and good portions. It took us no time once we ordered our drinks to get them, same goes for the food. The restrooms and tavern in general is clean. These guys keep the tables cleared and place spotless. Good place to stop in for a drink and/or lunch. If you’re a local, I’m sure you know about this place, but if you’re from out of town like us, stop by... I promise you won’t regret it. We had the Korean tacos and BBQ burger.
Great burgers, the best Ahi Tuna sandwich ever. Friendly staff.
Great food and service
Only thing that could make this place better is music and a giants flag. The food is amazing
Awesome food and awesome service
Good location and has buckets of beers
Finally, $15 burger with a $15 size. Friendly attentive staff. Great place to watch games.
Good food at reasonable price.

Best brussel sprouts with bacon anywhere in the area! Great way to end a long day of work!
Expensive place for food and not that great. 5 of us had fish and chips and the fish was disgusting chips were cold. Won’t be returning.
Great service and good food.
Solid spot in DC for sports. Not overpriced and the food is pretty good. Thanks for letting us normal folk afford a fun Saturday night in downtown!
Excellent American diner. Great food at very reasonable prices.
Fantastic restaurant near the National Mall. Outside seating or air conditioned inside on 2 floors. Bar on both levels with a dozen flat screen TV show on each floor to enjoy the games. Fantastic burgers!! I had the steak taco salad. So full of ingredients! Steak was amazing!!!!!
Yummy food. Great service! Portions were a bit large. The french fries werent the best, but they were ok. The prices are a little high. They need more soft drink selections, like some diet sodas for root beer, dr pepper, orange etc. They dont have any sweet tea. The seating is nice. Lots of tables downstairs and a few upstairs. Restroom only has 1 stall, but it is clean. Restaurant is clean. Lots of tvs. A little noisy. No parking nearby except paid parking.
Love their wings. Friendly staff
Place like many others but go upstairs and see many people singing for their favorites club is great. Especialy when beautiful blonde lady using megaphone and leading to other football fans inside. Really worth to see
Great place to watch sports , eat , drink and hang out with friends.
Love sports? Love great food? Love friendly prompt service? ...Now you know where to go Chef Rob
Had a great lunch. Staff was very attentive but not pushy. Lingered for some time catching up with friend and we were not rushed.
Great food and service
Great burgers. Fun environment and excellent service. A bit loud but fun. Ate lunch and was happy to sit inside out of the humidity. Bathrooms are nice.
Breakfast was amazing and the wait staff was friendly. Great body Mary's.
Food was great! Bartender was awesome! Big TVs everywhere! I was on a work lunch, so I couldn't drink, but definitely would go back for drinks with friends!

Definitely a sports bar. Tight on space but full of TVs. Staff is good at working in the tight space. Bathrooms were very clean.
Four of us went on a busy Friday afternoon. Yet, the wait time was very short and service was still good. The food was good as well.
On a very hot day, this was a perfect place to have lunch and a cold beer. Our server was very nice.
We loved this place! Service was great and food was awesome!
Good service but the food didn't agree with me. Waitstaff was outstanding, though, considering we were there late on a Sunday!
This was a very nice sports bar with a great outdoor seating area. We ended up here on a very busy Saturday afternoon, they immediately found a spot for us and quickly got us our food. Service was great. Food was a bit better than typical bar food. It was a good eating place for us and we enjoyed it.
Good food, good service, sat outside with get weather. Doesn't get any better.
