If you can’t tell the duck won’t be good from the photos, you’ll probably like it. I’m visiting from out of town. This place is bad. Service is mean. The duck is dry. The skin isn’t crispy. Look at the pictures! The skin is not the right golden brown color. I’ve easily had better in other cities in USA. I won’t give recommendations because I think I haven’t even had worse. This place also doesn’t cook the duck 3 ways, which is so standard elsewhere. The other dishes aren’t amazing either.

I stayed at Beijing for almost 10 years, I have to say this place is far from real Peking food. Even Panda Express is better at American style Chinese food, at least Panda have enough salt added. The service is good though.

Carla Jane Pax

The Peking duck was exquisite and delightfully crispy. The service was impeccable. One of the servers came over and packed and rolled the dish for me so that I could see how it was done. Each dish was incredible. Definitely worth it. 10/10 would go again

K

Pricey, but the portions are large. The Szechuan beef proper is amazing. Their hot and sour soup is also good.

Neal

This was a really nice Chinese restaurant. I like that they have authentic chinese food but will also give you American if you want. The duck was very good, as was the long beans and broccoli. The prices seem high when you first look at them, but these are meant for several people, not one. Prices are likely in line with a place like longhorns I would say.

Nereo Mendoza

We loved the appetizers and they're taking duck the service was really good

Jagman221 221

My favorite Chinese restaurant. The Duck is the best. They carve the duck at table side. Love toffee peach dessert, also table side.

Abdallah Bseirani

The specialty of this Chinese restaurant is duck. We were 8 people. I personally would not eat duck meat but my wife and my two adult kids enjoyed it very much. It seems President George W Bush was a customer during his presidency and would come to this restaurant to eat duck.

Saad Moulvi

One of my favorites in the D.C. area. Food is so good and the service is fantastic

lee stikeleather

Been going here 40 years. Before it became famous. Never had anything but an outstanding experience. A truly 5 star experience in every respect.

Alp Behar

This place is legend. Top 5 place to eat in DC/Virginia area. Musts are Duck and Gourmet Pan Fried Noodle. Noodles are home made and it's amazing. Take a look at the pictures.

Yucheng Zang

Everything is Ok but the network. The network is really good before we lost it for 2 days.

Amy Lowenstein

I ordered delivery through Door Dash. The delivery company deserves 5 stars. This is the worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. My shrimp dish was bland and the shrimp weren’t cooked thoroughly. Yuck! The FRIED dumplings were disgusting and the sauce that comes with it tasted like pure salt! The Wonton soup barely had any wontons and the noodles in the package were stale. I’m on a budget so this was a splurge for me and it was the biggest waste of $50 for one person I’ve ever spent. Absolutely horrible

Tim Carlin

I had to see what all the hype was about. It was my first time having Peking Duck, which was a dining experience in and of itself. I also had their fried rice and singapore noodles. The duck was $45, fried and carved in front of you, get the julienned cucumbers, they enhanced the dish; Delicious and worth experiencing! Quality chinese food, I will definitely return to try their other dishes.

Amanda Alves

The best Peking Duck in the world - and I have eaten my way around Beijing (the birthplace of Peking duck!) at the supposed "best peking duck restaurants". Still none compare to the moist, flavorful meat and crispy skin of Peking Gourket Inn. Cannot recommend enough. Make sure to make a reservation!

Service: Amazing Food: Amazing Restaurant: Amazing Overall: Absolutely Great Chinese Food 5/5

Richard Hunt

Been here twice with clients and this is the gold standard / old school Chinese restaurant experience you're looking for. The table-side prepared Peking duck was fantastic.

Alonzo Wind

A total surprise. Hidden away - seemed a dump outside but remarkable place for Peking duck and many other dishes. Very busy.

P Mint

A one star rating for this restaurant is generous and the fact that they have a four star rating speaks volumes about fake reviews. We had not dined here in months since our last experience was underwhelming and we gave it another try. The restaurant was not busy but the service was extremely slow. The spring rolls were tasteless and filled with grease. The sweet and sour pork was also tasteless and greasy but the schechuan beef dish was so deep fried that it resembled tire rubber and impossible to eat. While fryer oil should be changed daily, is obvious they have not done so in weeks. Time to change the oil in your fryer. Very disappointing experience and surprised they are still open for business.

Eduardo Sevilla

Classic, famous and very popular. Serving the best Peking Duck in the area and a menu full of classic Chinese-American dishes to choose from. Wait staff often irregular - sometimes great, other times so-so. The dated decor needs a refreshing and the dubious restroom conditions should be a concern.

Leonard Yoo

The peking duck was amazing as always.

Anthony Trenzeluk

The best Chinese in the DMV

Lourdes Carazo

Excellent service and great food.

Thanh Alexander Nguyen

I have read many reviews prior to having a chance to try their duck dish specialty!! I have to disagree with everyone’s reviews....drove to 1 hr to get here, very very disappointed. The duck was tiny, bland and not skin was noooot crispy at all. I have tried many many Peking duck dishes all over the world and this experience was very disappointing. Wow...and $48 for this???

J Mehd

Good but way too much of a madhouse. Too many people. They need other DMV locations.

Justin Adelman

Little slow but it's probably the best Peking Duck place around here, worth the wait

Lan Nguyen

Everybody comes here for the peking duck. The skin of the peking duck is the best part. The duck meat itself is not as flavored, but the sauce you dip it in makes up for it. If you like bones, make sure you tell them you want to keep the duck bones. This is one of the restaurants you must try if are ever in the area. Recommended

Teddy Kim

While you can find great versions of Peking duck around this area, you can't find this version anywhere else in NOVA. Crisp skin, juicy meat, fresh crepe wrappers and great sliced spring onions. Also enjoy the jeo yen shrimp, orange beef, pan fried noodles and garlic sprouts.

blade wyng

Absolutely worth the visit. The duck was amazing and it was the first time I had duck. The crab ragoon was delicious. Our waiter, Ming was a delight and made the visit perfect. Would definitely visit again when in town.

Jk Jk

If you come here on 2014, the food was delicious and very authentic. But since the son took over the restaurant, the food quality dropped tremendously and the food isnt as special as it used to be. You can get a similar quality at panda express. Very disappointed with the food.

Julita Barnedo

Grew up in Arlington. This establishment is a staple there. My family, like many families in the DMV have frequented Peking Gourmet through out our childhood well into Adulthood. This place still remains my favorite for Peking Duck. Heads up, there is always usually a wait time. There will always be little room to move around with all the staff and waiting patrons and those dining (Cue Ludacris's "Move B.......") but it is worth the wait. Prepare to have to wait for parking as well since this shopping center does not have a plethora of parking spaces. Make reservations prior.

Stacy Tran

Their signature duck skin wraps were different and tasted ok, but I don't understand what's all the rave is about. Lots of fried food. Maybe it's just not my thing. Been there done that and probably won't bother going back.

Glenn Graziano

If you want great Chinese food go here! Expect a wait call ahead. The best Peking duck hands down, pan fried dumplings and szechuan beef proper are phenomenal. Go eat and enjoy

Sumer Jabri

Exquisite. Try the duck, Jo Yen shrimp and the lamb chops. I wish the service was more friendly.

Peter Nicholson

All I can say is WOW!!! This is the best Chinese I have had in America. The Szechuan Beef Proper and Fresh Garlic Chicken are to die for. The staff are friendly and the portions are generous. I will be back.

Gina Kjar

I am a restaurant owner and professional caterer. I am picky and don't hand out 5 stars easily. Tonight, Poon was our waiter. His service was exceptional, as there was never a glass in need of filling, he literally waited on us hand and foot. The Peking duck was the best I've had. We also ordered the dumplings and green beans, both excellent The outside will fool you, as this restaurant looks very typical in a strip mall, but you will be pleasantly surprised upon entry. Kudos from Missouri, we will certainly visit again when in your neighborhood.

d adams

Very nice duck. Went with Chinese and they said it was authentic. President Bush and his father visited more than once. Also pictures all over the walls of who is who in DC. Food is just as good as the atmosphere. They also sing happy birthday to top it all off!

Peter Marshall

The best Peking Duck in the area. The place is full of history/photographs of pretty anyone who is wnyone. Weekends are packed and you'll want a reservation.

Mohamed Elgawhergy

Excellent authentic Chinese food with excellent service and huge portions.

antonio cecchi

As always exceptional to the Peking duck is ridiculous, best in town! I’m not sure if Tony is running it for one of his siblings. they are an amazing family and amazing heritage and producing consistently delicious food

Jung Park

LOVE their peking duck. It is the best in America. Cant find any other place better then Peking Gourmet Inn

Keto Sanchezu

Honestly, the only food I love from them is the Peking Duck. Which is expected. Other food they offer I'm not a big fan. But staff is very friendly.

Phuoc Quach

The food wasn’t good. The peking duck ($48) was so dry and the scallop ($38) taste bitter. I couldn’t eat the scallop at all. The service was so terrible. I asked for refill water but they didn’t refill at all. They also forgot to bring out the check after they clean my table. I don’t recommend this place.

Dhiraj

much more to this place than the 'duck' ! We've learnt to avoid that & sample the wider selection

Wing-Mei Ko

Definitely recommend the Peking duck. It was really good, but the wrappers were a bit dry. However, I would not recommend for authentic Chinese food. The "szechuan tofu" (essentially mapo tofu) was decent but not spicy. The "szechuan beef" was insanely sugary and beef was dry like jerky. Also, not spicy. They cater way too much to American tastes. Service is very good though, and when we asked to keep the duck bones (we take them home to make soup) they kindly threw in a second set.

Alexander

Food is awesome, the restaurant can be very cold so bring a sweater or jacket if you easily get cold. Walnut chicken and combination lo mien are very good.

Louise Grenon

Always a pleasure. Friendly and efficient staff; excellent service and awesome selection of dishes.

Russo ferretti

Extremely disappointed. Spent quite a bit of money and the food was bad. The fried rice and noodles were over cooked, the Szechuan beef was not spicy at all and the pancakes for the duck were hard. No taste what so ever. I only gave it one star because I didn’t know how to give it a negative star. So disappointed.

Jayden Ku

Peking Gourmet Inn is the superior Chinese dining restaurant. Their Peking Duck is the best I've ever had, the skin is crispy and light and the meat is so tasty. Even though it can take awhile, the wait is definitely worth it. Another treat is that there are pictures of famous people that have eaten there such as President George Bush. I also highly recommend the garlic sprouts.

Brian Wu

The duck is pretty pricey, between $40-$50, but it is still one heck of a dish and probably the iconic one for this restaurant! The food overall is tasty and authentic. The atmosphere is also great, and makes you feel like you magically ended up in China!!! Waiters are also very friendly. One of my favorite places to eat with a large group :)

Måx Goldsmith

Ok food ok service , BIG price tag , we ordered the beef lo mein and you couldn’t eat the beef it was thic cut, wet, and chewy inedible. Noodles were too thic lo mein lacked Smokey flavor, the ribs were cooked perfectly but the seasoning wasn’t good, the crispy beef was way too sweet and needed to be counterbalance with some spice I didn’t even taste beef it just tasted like breading. Waited like 5 minuets to get started but service was fair.

Amanda Turcotte

My husband and I heard alot of good reviews of this place and its history. We decided to give it a try on a Friday night with a reservation, which I would highly recommend a reservation since this is definitely a popular dining option in the area. It is a rather unassuming location being part of the Culmore Center, where we also go to the Post Office. Inside, the decor is as expected for a Chinese restaurant accept the walls are also covered with pictures of politicians, military generals and famous people who have dined at Peking over the decades. We ordered the volcano drink for two and the mini steamed dumpling plate to start. The drink was a little too sweet for my tastes, but the dumplings were spot on. I ordered a vodka cranberry after with Tito's vodka and that was really good....definitely contained a fair amount of Titos. We had to order the Peking duck ofcourse and the winter squash/sea scallops soup. Both were very good and the duck is carved in front of your table. The only thing we both found funny was we were struck with a vision of the movie "A Christmas Story" the whole time we were there and when we found out they are open on Christmas Day, we thought that was just perfect. :-)

Kang Hu

Peking duck was so so, other dishes was burnt. The wait staff was standing around cursing, very unprofessional. Restaurant used to be good, not anymore.

Johfonda Mauboules

Awesome Pe King duck

Lilian Hu Nguyen

Unfortunately, this once shiny gem has really gone down the drain over the past couple of years. The last 3 times we've been, the experience has been consistently unsatisfactory all around. I still remember when ducks were $38 a bird. Completely understand the need to grow a business, inflation, cost of doing business, etc. The ducks are now $50 per and are smaller than they used to be too. Whenever the ducks come out, the skin is no longer crispy and light like they used to be. Once the ducks are sliced onto the plate, the skin pieces literally stick together and are soggy. The pancake wrappers, which I'm not sure if are still made in-house, but now come out with multiple pieces either tearing from being stuck together or wet from the plate. On this particular dinner, we ordered a duck, had entrees, then ordered another duck. Only a new batch of pancakes was brought out. No new batch of spring onions, no additional sauce, etc. We asked our server, who seemed new and distraught with how to organize his tasks. We didn't end up receiving additional sauce or onions until we were at least halfway through already. In general, it was hard to track down our server for anything. Also, the individuals who cut the duck - do they not know how to provide customer service? We initially tried asking our duck carver for additional sauce and she flat out ignored us, folded up her table and went back to the kitchen. We then tried to ask the girl who was over-diligently refilling our water glasses. The same situation, she didn't say a word to us and started yelling at another server. All in all, not only is the food consistently mediocre now, it's expensive ($4.50 for a tiny bowl of hot sour soup? Come on), and service is lacking. Some of these older servers may have the experience, but they are neither warm nor friendly. What confuses me is these servers don't even have to do much - there are tons of bussers around for water, packing up meals, clearing tables, etc. Disappointing.

Sabrina Corpac

Peeking Gourmet is one of the best restaurants I’ve ate. Their shrimp noodles are unique in texture and taste. The servers are friendly and professional. Duck meat is delicious.

Diem

It was a great experience to watch the carving of the duck. Since they scrape off the fat, the duck is not as juicy but if you don’t like the fat then you will love it. The wait was unreal. So many angry customers. They need a better wait list system. After waiting over an hour, we discovered that our name was marked off the list and about 10 people after us had already been seated. So inefficient. Service at the table was quick and friendly.

Jackson Harris

Excellent services, The food is so good. They make one of the best ducks I ever had . Amazing place the price is decent for what you eat.

Abila Noam

So I’ve been going to this place many years now but now Peking gourmet inn lack quality not like how it was along time ago the staff was unfriendly rude taking food from my plate and taking the dishes and keeps touching the food feels uncomfortable really it’s a fancy restaurant that lacks professionalism I have to say really sad to have to let this One go in very frustrated

Ayesha Alhazzaz

Old restaurant big dishes very famous Top 10 in chinese food

Sherrine M. Thompson

The service and the food was great. The restaurant was super crowded when we arrived; there was a line extending out the front door. We were however, seated shortly after our 1pm reservation. The carving of the Peking duck was a sight to behold. All of the dishes we tried were tasty.

Travis Obertach

The best Chinese. Hands down without a doubt

R Bruce

Excellent food. It is good to have reservations so you don't have to wait. Weekends are busy.

Ju Li

Believe it or not, I had actually worked there for couples months. The owner son -bobby is ok. The food is good but somethings you have to make an appointment to go there. Especially during the weekend are flooded with customers. Because the reservation really need lot of improvement, I had once try to getting it better but the mangers just so stubborn to take change.

Alexander Robbins

Best Peking duck ever!!! We always get two duck for 6 people and it never disappoints. The other entrees are great and I would recommend some of the hot soups and dumplings to start.

Violeta Warner

We went here for dinner,Sunday night. Very busy,so make reservation. We came here for the roasted duck and we were not disappointed. Also loved the celery and pickled cabbage.

M

I’ve tried this place 2x solely based off the very good reviews, with each visit spread apart. My 1st time I wasn’t satisfied with the flavor but thought let me try again. Well my 2nd time it was the same thing. I ordered Szechuan beef today and it was very dry. I could not taste “anything”!!! My egg rolls were SWIMMING in GREASE! It was just overall disappointing especially when you spend 28.00 expecting to enjoy your meal. Despite the food not being satisfying to me I will honestly say this place appears to be popular with lots of business. The employees are very friendly too.

Richard Heathcote

Superb food; Szechuan Beef Proper is my favorite. Very crowded 12/26, due to holidays presumably. Even with the tight space, service was quick and professional. Rcmd you don't take elderly family with mobility issues, it's that tight at times. But definitely go.

Elizabeth Day

Something has changed, what used to be our favorite spot for phenomenal Chinese food with great service and attention to detail is gone. Today the service was extremely poor, the dumplings were bland and the fried wontons were undercooked. After we finished our apps we waited over 15 minutes for our duck which was perfectly sliced from a very nice server, then our waiter stopped by to check and permeated the whole table smelling like a cigarette. Appears there has been a change in management - nobody is running the place. Hate to see this happen.

James Zipadelli

Their Szechuan beef was excellent. I also had their Wonton soup. For $11, it was one of the best meals I've had in years.

Gabriel Lugo

The food is good. But while I was there I saw how they mistreated an employee, screaming to her just because she asked a question. We were served by an Asian-origin host who was not friendly and did not give a good service.

Stephen MacTurk

Excellent as always George and company has it made

Jessica

The Peking Gourmet Inn has the best Chinese roast duck that I’ve ever had in the states; the skin is perfectly crispy and the meat is tender. Plus, they bring out a carving station to cut the whole duck in front of you. My table was celebrating a birthday so we ordered one of the set meals, but it was way too much food for us to finish. A lot of the dishes tasted great reheated though! :)

Elizabeth Amoretti Nunez

It is a great restaurant, the food is delicious and the service makes you feel like a special person. I highly recommend it, you can celebrate birthdays or office events. Also you can take pictures of the famous people who have been there like John Travolta, President Bush, etc.

Hai Nguyen

The best Peking duck easily on the east coast...maybe even in the USA!! Peking duck with cucumber, onion, pepper, and wrap dipped in sauce is to die for. An endless wall of famous photos showers the entire restaurant. Every time I go there it’s always full and customer service is out of this world. It’s always a treat whenever I can afford this jaw dropping delicious cuisine. Make sure to ask to keep the bone because it still has a lot of meat left, some of the best skin left and always so good to chew on the bone...making sure not to leave a single thread of meat to be wasted.

Francisco Centeno

We heard about this restaurant and wanted to give it a try and unfortunately we are very disappointed. We ordered Beef with green peppers combination and the meat was not fully cooked. Also, we ordered Shrimp Treasure and the flavor wasn't the best. It's seem the food was sitting out for a while. Do not waste your time.

Janie Chung

I'm pretty regular to this place. More often lately and Today, duck WAS NOT fully cook and served. Red blood between skins and We asked to cook more, waiter brought it back as it microwaved. Very disappointing! This place is not the same as original taste anymore.

Katie Simpson

I came here to find a t-shirt and jeans to wear in my school play. I couldn't find either of these things. I called the company call center and they assured me that I could find the items I needed at a nearby location. No need to fret. Thank goodness.

Jackie Jiaqi Tang

Quick summary: the right place for authentic Peking Duck, other dishes were okay. Two things that surprised me: the interior had a very authentic vibe to Beijing/Peking restaurant in China, which I had gone to years ago; and there was almost no Chinese translation to their dishes, which was highly uncommon among Chinese restaurants. As expected, they have one of the most authentic Peking duck, coming from me who had actually had Peking duck in Beijing. The duck was roasted at the perfect crispiness. The duck selection was also important, the size and leanness to fat ratio was perfect for this type of purpose. Must try dish for sure! Okay, yes, they have amazing duck, but the rest of the dishes were just alright. I was expecting other dishes to be as authentic as the Peking duck, especially with a pretty high price tags. To be honest, other dishes tasted slightly better than a regular Chinese take out place.

Carlton Jones

The Best Chinese cuisine in the DMV. The Peking Duck is absolutely addictive. Also the Peking Gourmet Beef is as well unbelievable. It's the only Chinese restaurant where I've seen 60% Chinese patrons. If you are within 300 miles go! You wont regret it.

Larry Cirignano

Secret service loves this place

Mikhail Lopez

Went here for a dinner with a group of 8 guys. We ordered 4 ducks and 4 other entrees, “hoping” it would be enough. Well...we ended up having plenty leftover for each of us to take home. This place is known for duck, and the duck is carved table side. The duck is great. My favorite dish was the spicy beef, which was delicious, spicy, and beefy. By the way the drinks here are great too. Strong and tasty. Doesn’t get better than that. The zombie (it’s a drink) is delicious.

Farooq Rasuly

I was there on 08/17 / 19 . The service was really bad ☹️ the every thing super expansive according to other restaurants around .

Bill Van wormer

The food was excellent. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was unique. That was my second time going there and I definitely will be going back.

Lynn Moten

Awesome food and great service. Hanna was so pleasant while serving my family of 9. The duck was great! We ate family style and everything was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.

susan lavine

Been coming for decades. Its a fun night out. Delicious food, attentive staff, noisey when busy but thats part of the charm. Expensive so not a regular weekly thing for us. Ordered chefs suggestion!

Diana Patterson

Perfect roast duck. Juicy and crispy skin, and the hoisin sauce was very complementary. A must in your food bucket list.

Car Traj

Horrible reservation system. We made reservations for 5pm. We left at at 5:45pm when they could not give us an estimate when they would seat our family of 4. Very disappointing. And very rude to accept reservations when they do not honor them.

Yasmin Gonzalez

Amazing food! Dishes are super huge, this place is a must for special occasions too!

Ken R

Best Beijing duck around! Get your reservation a day or two in advance - it books up quick! You can't just show up

Phillip Park

If you want to get Peking style duck, this is the place to go. The other menu items are good, but fairly standard. Place gets really busy so call ahead.

Little Mary

Food was excellent as always. Duck is best I've ever had anywhere... Including Beijing! Took several minutes to get a booster seat... Not sure why that happened. The toddler and i stood around longer than usual waiting... Server was new... She was very polite, but a little frazzled.

Emily Mills

Peking always delivers top-notch authentic Chinese food. My family and I returned for a meal and tried the Bush family’s favorite group meal, C. We got to try some new favorites (scallop soup, spring rolls), while still enjoying our favorites: the must-have duck pancakes and Szechuan beef. $46/person was reasonable for the 6 courses they brought out for us. Service by Ben was excellent, as always. This place is the real-deal. It ties me to this area and we love bringing out of town guests here for a benchmark DC area meal. Can’t wait for our next meal here!!!

DMV Lifestyle

Great place. The food and the atmosphere of this restaurant is superb. Sometimes it's slow and you may have to wait even after making a reservation- but that explains how good this place is. The food is perfectly seasoned and the service is great. All the servers are polite and everything is neatly organized.

Nguyen Hooton

Terrible waiter on a special night We made and confirmed reservations, and let the restaurant know it was our anniversary both times and when we arrived. We came for an extravagant dinner and great service. Our waiter gave us menus and disappeared. He then avoided and ignored us--taking the next table's order (which was seated after us), bringing them water, then drinks, then tea, then appetizers--not coming near us nor looking at us. We politely tried to get his attention, but were ignored and kept waiting...and waiting--even though we asked the staff 3 times to send our waiter over. We finally went to the hostess stand to ask for service. Later, when he finally came to our table, we tried to order a frozen strawberry daiquiri--but he kept repeating back fruit punch: it took 3 requests before he got it right. Our tea order didn't arrive until halfway through dinner. Our second entree, noodles we told him were for our (well-behaved) hungry kids, didn't arrive until we were almost finished with our double order of peking duck. Later, when we asked for a few extra minutes to finish our meal, he disappeared again, and didn't return until long, long, long after we had finished. He didn't check on our table once during our meal (and confusingly, neither did the management, even though they knew we were having difficulty being served). He never wished us a happy anniversary. We usually tip 20%, and 25-40% on special days or for very good service. Not last night--the meager 10% we left was intended for the rest of the wait staff. My husband, a longtime fan of this restaurant, and who requested we go here on our special night, was disappointed, frustrated and embarrassed, and never wants eat here again--me neither after last night :-(

Clay

This was an interesting experience. It's a family style resturant where you share items with the table. The hot and sour soup was good. The egg drop soup was okay. I wasnt a fan of the crab rangoons. We had the Peking duck, garlic chicken, and this 5 spice beef. The duck we got because it was recommended. It was good. Though having them carve it then make the rolled up pancake thing was a little weird. I much preferred the garlic chicken and the 5 spice beef. The beef meal was very spicy, almost to the point where you couldn't eat it. Overall, it was enjoyable. Next time we wont get the duck. And not get the spicy beef. A little over priced as well.

Esther Bell

This is the best Peking duck restaurant! Pricey but very delicious. Great service. Highly recommended

Steve Ellis

Outstanding experience. A must for any foodie.

P

Make a reservation ahead of time. Went Tuesday at 7 and waited about 15 minutes for the table but the food was amazing, literally I would give it about 4.5 stars. We had the crab rangoon which contained real crab meat and spare ribs for appetizer. Peking duck for dinner. Service was so so. Enjoy!

Marcia Goldstein

Always great food. I love the way they thinly slice the Peking duck. We had delicious seabass in black bean sauce.

Pedram Vaziri

Service review: Got reservation for 8pm for 4 people. Got there around 7:45 and wrote our name in their book as present and waited to be called. After giving our seats to other parties for no obvious reason other than speaking the same language as the hosts, they sat us around 8:40pm. We were so upset with how hosts behaved and talked to their managers. She was apologetic but that didn’t help us much since we were waiting for 1 hour and were already starving. Food review: The duck is delicious and that’s the reason this place is packed and out of control. Other dishes are not as great so I don’t recommend trying them. For every 2-3 person get 2 dock depending on how hungry you are or how many side dishes you will get.

Nathan Tsuda

The best gourmet chinese food I've had ever! The Peking Duck is the must have item next to their lamb chops. Watch out for waiting lines by making reservations at this extremely historical and popular destination. Make sure you ask to take the bones home after to make some duck stock.

John Kupik

Greatea food especially the duck with good service

Mandy M

Oh my duckness... Appetizers: FRIED CALAMARI - $12 Wild caught calamari is gently fried with a seasonal marinate. *The calamari is very light, crispy and tender. It almost melts in your mouth from whatever tempura batter they use. The sauce that accompanies it was too sweet for me and the dish by itself didn't need a sauce; yea that good. GOLDEN YUAN BAO (4) $10 A crispy and crunchy wrapper stuffed with roast pork, water chestnuts, and green beans. *Just like your typical bao bun except in a deep fried wrapper, surprisingly the water chestnuts is what stood out in this dish and the sauce is deep and rich. FRIED DUMPLING (6) - $9.50 *I'm not even kidding I could eat a solid dozen of these by myself. I love the dumpling dough because of the chewiness along with the crispy pan fried texture. These are my favorite dumplings in the area. I'm not a big soy sauce person but I love dipping these dumplings in it with a little chili oil. Yummmm. Entrees: PEKING DUCK - $43 Prepared in a truly Peking manner and carved table side. Served with 12 homemade pancakes, hoisin sauce, and jumbo spring onions (which are grown on their own farm!) *So do you ever eat a dish that after eating it you wish you could eat it again? The duck is juicy and tender and the skin is super crispy. I could literally eat this everyday of my life and never get sick of it. YANG CHOW FRIED RICE - $12 Combination fried rice: chicken, beef, shrimp and Chinese sausage and the portion is a heaping mound of rice. We took 1/2 home. For the next 3 mornings I made scrambled eggs and mixed it with the leftover fried rice. CONCLUSION: We left with our bellies full and our hearts warm. Dinner for 2 was $120 including tip and we got a ton of food and took home leftovers. Pro tip 1: Call ahead and make a reservation. The wait can be really long during peak dining hours. Pro tip 2: When they ask if you want sliced cucumbers with your duck, just be aware it's not free, they will charge you for it.

Quite a place...! Food was very decent and so was the peking duck. Lots of selection of dishes and interesting deco ie pictures.. Service was good and better make a booking cos it was very crowded when we were there..

Dined here many times and food is always great, first time ordering takeout and the food was not as good. Dont know if they use a different chef for phone orders, but the fried rice was overcooked, the shrimp was soggy, the v dumplings had a bit too much ginger in them and too much vinegar in the sauce. Not sure if I'll be ordering takeout again.

This restaurant is one of the best in my book. Their food quality control is excellent! Apart from the Peking duck, you definitely have you try their crab rangoons, they're so authentic!!

Susan Monroe

Excellent food, service v& atmosphere

June Young Lee

I've came in to this place several time but recently the service wasn't that great. also, while the peking duck is good other dishes aren't as good.

Rachel Way

The hype did not meet up to reality... our group of 6 all agreed and left feeling disappointed. The steak northern style was probably the best dish and was decent, the peking duck was average, and everything else was bleh... sadly lacking a lot of flavor... very bland; the noodles were barely edible. The firecracker jumbo shrimp tasted old... almost like they had gone bad; I love seafood but the shrimp had that bad ‘fishy’ taste you don’t ever want with shellfish. The calamari consisted more of fried batter pieces than anything else.

Deborah Weese

Still one if not THE top Chinese restaurant in Northern Virginia even after all these years. Quality consistently high. One of my all time fav.

James Wood

Love this place. The duck is amazing!

keita sakon

Most likely those people who claim this to be the “best Peking duck” haven’t traveled much and haven’t had a lot of good real Chinese food. So what if the Bushes think these are the best. Do you really think a couple of white guys from Texas have a palate for good Chinese food? They don’t. Mediocre AT BEST

Sicname _

Absolutely amazing. The duck, the shrimp, and the spinach are perfection. The Zombie was so good, but deceptively strong and the Mai Tais are the best I've ever had. There's a lot of history in the restaurant and the servers are incredibly knowledgeable about the food.

David Blank!

I have no idea what the hype is about. Overpriced. Be prepared to pay overpriced typical Chinese dishes. Food were average at best. Go to your local mom and pop restaurants if you want to go home with more values for your bucks. A latino waiter in a supposedly gourmet chinese restaurant?

Eric kim

Ah..., always go to place for special event. Their food quality has not changed since what.. forever many years. Keep it classic and keep it up.

Mindy Gallina

This is an institution, been around for decades. I felt very comfortable eating here since I saw so many other Chinese people eating here too. I know that sounds bad, but that’s when I know it’s authentic... Anyway, It was very good, including the handmade (at the table) Peking duck spring rolls. Worth trying if you find yourself in falls church, va.

What a great restaurant ... people have thought that for years (check out the pictures on their walls). We've gone there to celebrate Christmas and other visits that we make to the Northern Virginia area. Its UNIQUE ... and the food is terrific! Find out for yourself!

Andre Cote

Great food. Very busy. Need a reservation. Nice people. $$$

Frido Bruehl

Overpriced, unfriendly. They live off their reputation. Duck was cold. Not recommended

Hillary S

Delicious. Odd location in the middle of a strip mall. Ok parking. Duck is good but other dishes as good if not better.

Crystal Armenta

Had the group C which literally brings everything ( feeds up to 6) . only 5 of us & we were beyond stuffed. The duck really is the best&is a must have along with the lamb. Service was great (May was very attentive & paid attention to details which is always appreciated). I've been here several times and will definitely continue coming back!

ABCD ABCD

Great food, great service! Looking forward to coming back soon

Perry Russ

Superb in every way ... service + food. They have fed millions. I have been there fifty times.

Harry Latimer

The best duck in the world.

Quentin Collier

The food here is definitely pretty good but the service not so much. I constantly have to flag staff down for refills etc. The duck is flavorful! The place is also pricey and without the amazing service I'd expect, isn't worth it. The parking in this shopping center is also very inconvenient, be prepared to have to fight for a spot.

cat wu

This place is for people never ever had the real authentic Peking duck, or for hypocritical politicians. It’s nowhere close to the real peking duck, from the taste of the duck to the texture of the wraps. Service was mediocre and they took away the check before people leave.

candice nicholson

Amazing food, friendly staff that great and serve you with a smile. We will definitely be back for the peking duck.

Gloria Sheppard

I have been going to this restaurant since I was a teenager. Went here last night and it was still packed from Years ago. The food and atmosphere is still awesome. I do highly recommend making reservations for this place.

Martin Donghoon Lee

Best Peking duck in washington DC area. But you need to be aware to be waited 30~45min to get a table.

Gene Taylor

Best Peking Duck ever!!! Amazing Hong Kong dumpling soup, great shrimp toast and Pan Fried Dumplings.

5 for food, 3 for ambience, 2 for bathroom cleanliness. The food is wonderful, not salty. Their food is all about the vegetables and meat bringing their natural taste to the dish. It gets crowded, so make sure to make a reservation. Pecking duck is the most popular dish. The restaurant is dark inside and the bathroom could use a remodeling. Even the duck 3D art over the door can use a good scrubbing. ‘‘Tis the -1 star.

William Deuser

With luck, I'm able to dine here once a year while visiting family in the area. I always order the Peking Duck, which is crispy and flavorful and unequaled anywhere. I also order the szechuan beef proper, which is amazing. Hard to go wrong with anything at this authentic Chinese restaurant.

Red

They don't even have a Chinese menu. The food is just so so. The Pecking Duck is the worst one I have ever had. It is not a good place to enjoy Chinese tradational food.

Nature’s law is - When you get too comfortable and think your too good - the problem starts. No doubt the food is good, they built good repute but now staff has become so rude it’s very disheartening. We went to have lunch and informed the server about having some food allergies. They served the food ignoring our request and one of our family really become ill instantly. When we addressed the issue to the host- she was so rude & disconcerted. Surly going to file a complaint with Consumer court in Va court and BBB about the ignorance of staff. We rushed to doctor and got some anti allergic. Kindly be careful- if your allergic and don’t trust there word. Find better people who are more concerned for your loved ones.

Daniel Dinh

Food was alright, not the best. Staff were friendly. Place is very cramped and there was not much fresh air. If you claustrophobic, warning..

Mohammed Aldawood

Underwhelmed by the whole experience. Peking duck was tasteless and kung pao chicken and shrimp was bland/one-note. For $100 dinner, I expected much better.

Dave Krug

We went there with friends and had a pleasant experience. The way the serve the food, including the atmosphere and carving the Peking duck at your table, all contributed to a unique experience for us which is what I like. I'd recommend at least trying it. I would love to go back again!

roger tapanes

We loved this place it does not look as good as it is outside like it is inside very nice and the pecking duck was one of the best I've had and the price is really good

Justin Ham

Does not seem like much frim the outside but once you walk in you will be amazed! Besides the signature duck dish, i would recommend the fried rice and fried shrimp~! make sure you reserve a table in advance.

Firas Almofti

I came here with family and friends, we liked the so much. Highly recommend to call for appointment before you walk in .

Sarah Steinke

This place is historic! The food was delicious and they carve the duck at your table. There are pictures of famous people who have been there on all the walls. Make a reservation and be ready for a wonderful dining experience!

Nate Belasco

Incredible peking duck! The soups like hot and sour are also amazing because they are made with duck broth. Try the gourmet eggplant, also amazing. Get a reservation because the line is always insane at this place, for good reason!

Sharon Harley

I made a reservation for 5pm. However, between making reservation and arriving at the restaurant two people in my party cancelled. The receptionist looked unorganized when I arrived and i had to point out my own name on her scribbled sheet of "reservation" papers. I was then told to wait until my whole party arrives. Ok..i thought, no problem. 2 more of my friends arrive a few mins later now we're at 3 people myself included. At this point it's almost 5:30 and I ask if we can be seated. The waitress rudely says my reservation is for 7 people and I explain to her than 2 people cancelled. Another waitress chimes in and says if it was just us 3 in the party we could be seated but otherwise it's "against their policy." Since when can you not be seated at any restaurant when more than half of your party is present??! We were literally short two people and still couldn't get a table. We left immediately after and went to a much less chaotic and crowded Thai restaurant down the street. It's worth noting we were the only African Americans in the restaurant waiting in their cramped lobby and I watched as several other guests breeze in, seated almost immediately even with "reservation." Poor and incredibly rude incompetent service. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Brian Choi

We heard a lot about this place. Mostly from YouTube so had to check it out. Perhaps our expectation was too high. Food wasn't bad, was actually was good but it wasn't the best Peking duck as some people on YouTube claimed. It definitely wasn't worth $120 we spent for 3 of us. It was good to try once but will not be going back. Was fun to see a lot of famous people on the walls.

Mike T

Tried this out while visiting sister in law- right next to their home. Located in a strip center and wouldn't notice it unless you looked at yelp and google reviews. Once inside it opens up into a large area. Packed when we went. Lots of photos of celebrities or famous folks on the wall. Pretty cool. Had the duck of course. They cut it and plate it in front of you so that was a neat experience. we had beef and broccoli, and mix of various other foods. Really good overal, not greasy, good family style portions as expected. Good service and fast and tasty. Great gem in the area!

Erick Terrazas

Great for group meals. Strongly recommend the duck, very well done. Combined with side dishes makes for a great time. Does provide alcoholic beverages (champagne, wine, etc.)

Anne Carr

Excellent service, wonderful photos, great food!
