REVIEWS OF Peacock Cafe IN Virginia

Catrina Simpson

Really nice establishment. My 13 year old niece picked this place. She loves the Nachos.

Thomas Ptak

Great service, great food and quaint fashionable atmosphere.

Sara Fischer

Food was pretty mediocre. I'm vegetarian so I ordered a pasta dish that was somehow worse than something I could have made at home. Obviously can't attest to how the meat dishes are.

Julio Caban

Went there for breakfast. Pancakes were moist not eggy. Nice portions, good location, and good service.

Tarik K

A great lunch spot! Try the soup and 1/2 sandwich with some fries. Tomato bisque and SW BLT are my faves.

Majid Chatsaz

First time eating there, I have to say their food was excellent, fresh and so tasty. The only other time I had Mediterranean Bronzino's so fresh on this side of Atlantic was at Eataly NYC Flatiron. Staff were professional and friendly, definitely a must if you are in Georgetown and want to have a great night.

Matthew Walsh

Food was good. Service slow and inattentive. Sandwiches took close to an hour to come out. No updates or checkin from server during the wait. We had to ask the hostess to expedite things

Obada Tabbaa

Great atmosphere, good food presentation, but slightly over priced for the taste

Mike LaRosa

Used to come here every Friday for lunch with friends. The staff is excellent and the owners know most of their patrons by name. My favorite item is the SW BLT, their fries are super tasty and the Sauv Blanc is best enjoyed on their world famous patio.

Paige Mathews

Delicious!

Frank Webster

Lovely neighborhood spot. We live around the corner and visit every chance we get. Perfect for brunch and dinner. The staff is amazing and that’s reflected in how long they’ve worked for the company. Food and atmosphere are top notch. Shaab and the crew are amazing.

Alex Page

Took 2 hours to get our food, the food was average.

Lori Coleman

I've been a regular at Peacock Cafe for over a decade (previously with friends, now with my husband) and it never fails to be a wonderful experience. Every item is prepared fresh from high-quality ingredients, and the drinks are inventive. To top it off, the staff are all welcoming, no matter if you're dressed for a night out or in jeans & a t-shirt. Location's perfect, price is reasonable, and parking is plentiful. You can't go wrong with Peacock Cafe!

Mary Strader

Dog friendly

devang dhaka

Decent spot. Nothing spectacular. Fresh smoothies were good.

L JB

Georgetown is a boutiquey area with posh restaurants and stores, or at least they think so.....I've had superior quality food and ambiance in a third world country. Not impressed! The waitstaff gets 5 stars though. Food okay.

Htoo Myat

Great atmosphere but I found the food to be quite bland. I had pistachio soup and ahi tuna salad there and both of them were rather bland. The soup was unexpectedly citrusy and that flavor overwhelmed the entire bowl. The salad part of the ahi tuna salad was alright but it was my very first time when I couldn't finish all the... What seems to be perfectly good pieces of fish because they just have no flavor. The location is great and atmosphere is nice for a date. Georgetown as usual is hard to reach by public transport but you can eat at the cafe and then walk down to the waterfront. As for me, I don't believe I'll ever go back there. The food is just not worth it.

Allison Banks

Lovely Sunday brunch with the girls.

Rachel Griesmer

I'm not sure who they paid to get on that eaters list for nachos...they were really disappointing and kind of expensive. They also had a goldfish in a really tiny bowl as "decoration." The poor thing was nearly dead. Shameful.

Chaz Shanton

Loved the wine

Yasser Madi

Great food, and great service! Lively place, but not too noisy that you can't hold a decent conversation with your friends.

Peter Danes

I wasn't that impressed. Bloody Mary was average. Not particularly good service or friendly. Felt like they wanted to get us out to get another brunch sitting in. Personally I much preferred Tonic for brunch on the GWU campus. The staff were much friendlier, it was more chilled and I thought a nicer setting

Gabrielle Ughetto

It's a 3.5. The Fresh juices/smoothies are delicious. However the brunch is not to die for and is very expensive for what it is. Positive highlight : food is organic

Diana Carl

Overrated so so French toast. Wanted special drink that other restaurants have offered but they refused to do it. Higher prices than other places.

Skip Pruitt

The food and service were excellent. Very detail oriented and extremely attentive

Ani DeGroot

Found this place in the middle of a rainstorm, so the dining area was essentially empty. The staff was very friendly and allowed us to be seated early to get out of the rain since the bar was full. Food was great. Decent wine selection.

Big Smoke 88888888888888888 19324

The food was delicious and service was outstanding. The manager also seemed to really care about everything that was going on so would definitely recommend

Kipp burgoyne

A long-time favorite. Consistently delicious dishes. Superior service in beautiful Georgetown!

Elie F

Nice little cafe, menu variety is good. They have great and healthy vegetables and fruit cocktails. I usually order the crab cake and it is pretty good.

Daniel Davis

Amazing brunch. Loved my blueberry smoothie and smoked salmon omelette

Sarah Caldwell

Amazing place brought my dog a water bowl with ice also great service very friendly also private but right off amazing shopping!

Keelay

Not a vegan restaurant, don't let them lie that they are.

Danijela Ilic

Just perfect. Dining here it is like dining at my home with my family. Loved it.

Yossi L

Average and nothing more. The mussels were just ok, the seafood was not so exciting and the compote fruits were dry

zina bazzell

Went with a friend for brunch inn Georgetown the inside nice and comfortable seating The food breakfast fresh and nice Portions I must say I would definitely eat at this wonderful place again!!!

Mark Brady

Ate here last night. Phenomenal. Off the beaten path a little and totally worth it. Had a Bourgogne Pinot Noir, Calamari and Cajun Chicken Salad. Highly recommend.

Brian Piotrowski

Typical American food, nothing to write home about.

Michael Diaz

Nice place with nice food. Nice date restaurant. Try the harvest fettuccini.

Allison. N

Had the Peacock omelette and a side of fries! Staff was amazing. I have to change my reservation twice and they were very accommodating. I would go back! Parking is also conveniently located. Two paid parking garages and of course street parking is available.

Naotaka Gotoh

Dog Friendly Restaurant. I like here for not only they can accept dog (in Patio), but tastes are amazing. We visited on lunchtime, but we wish to take dinner. Highly recommend.

Grant Adams

I recently went to the Peacock Cafe for lunch. I ordered the bison burger which arrived in a timely manner. All was well until I bit into the burger and found a hair in between the lettuce and bun. After showing this to the management they brought me a new burger and apologized for the inconvenience and assured me I would not be charged for the burger. Once I received the bill and saw the burger was on the check I asked the manager why and her response was “we charged you for the burger without the hair”. After explaining to her that they almost fed me a hair she then proceeded to insinuate that I placed the hair there myself.... The argument then proceeded and she eventually removed the charge. Afterwards, the family beside us left before ordering because they overheard the conversation about the hair and were shocked at the managements accusations and handling of the situation. Needless to say I will not be returning.

Steven Winslow

Great

Katie O'Shea

Menu is American, but has a heavy French emphasis. Delicious food, drinks, and brunch atmosphere!

SOBHI Z Eleita

You can't go wrong eating at this place. Excellent food and great service

Meg Glass

Food is delish-children's menu, gluten free and vegan options-make a reservation.

Meg Smith

I will never understand why Peacock Cafe gets all the hype it does. So it's in Georgetown. So what? The people watching is the same as it is down any other side street... nonexistent. For years I've failed to understand how Peacock merits any attention, or furthermore, how it remains in business. Food is average at best and horribly overpriced. Service is overburdened and slow. Worst still, you're made to feel as if you should feel privileged to dine here. For mediocre food and lacking ambiance? Come again? Avoid the lobster roll -- you'll just leave angry.

Sean Conrad

Sitting outside and relaxing was great. The food and service, not so much.

Brian Tankersley

Very interesting bar offerings, including three different orphan barrel bourbons.

Sean J. Kent

BEST STEAK & EGGS EVER!!! this place has the best steak and eggs and for less than twenty bucks! You can order anything from the breakfast menue anytime before 4pm. You gotta try it!

Adam Maude

Always friendly and accommodating. Food is fantastic and they serve brunch items till 4:00pm!

La Juane Cooks

A very nice place. Great service. Good place for kids too.

Kevin Leach

Good food, nice fruit juice and attentive service.

Rick Khosla

I have been to Peacock Cafe numerous times recently. My table was served by server named Ramon. The service has been excellent and the food has come the way I wanted. I could not ask for anything more. Also the server also has suggested somethings which made my day. I would go back more often for same food and also juices.

Green Twister

I will NEVER go again. My girlfriend and I came to sit down and enjoy a few drinks before exploring the area. We were seated and when our waiter came, I ask for a coffee. He nodded and walked off. We were seated near another couple that had finished their meal and order multiple drinks, so while they were still there our waiter would come over constantly attending to them and then partially to my girlfriend and I. Eventually they left and the waiter stopped coming over to us all together. I constantly had to ask the other waiters for whatever we wanted. It took over 20 minutes to receive my coffee. You could say that they had to brew it, but I could see other people getting their coffee before me. Our waiter would attend to the other guests and not my girlfriend and I. I could see him going to the other tables constantly and not attending ours. IF YOU SHOW UP YOU MUST WEAR A TIE AT LEAST to get any type of service. If you do not look like you are Loaded, then the waiters could care less about you. My girlfriend and I had been exploring DC all day and were not dressed up in a dressy clothes for lunch. If I have to pay the same amount for food at an Applebees, then I should not have some snooty waiter that does not care about me since I do not not look like I will tip him $20 for a $15 entree.

Gelo Petsvona

Quick brunch, nice place really good selection of brunch dishes. Fresh smoothies, awesome biscuits. Really recommend for brunch or lunch. The bonus is there are two parking lots right next to it and you only need an hour.

Great brunch with delicious desserts

Rachel Ridley

It’s a cute place but perhaps they can’t handle a rush. My fiancé and I visited on Saturday and were seated outside with no reservation which was nice. The hostess panicked a little because she realized the table had not been bussed yet but it was quickly taken care of. Our server was nice and the food was good - however, there were a handful of mistakes that made it a not-good experience. First, my breakfast plate came out with sausage rather than bacon. Not a big deal, but it took a while to change it out and the rest of the food wasn’t as hot afterwards. The server asked if I needed anything else and I requested ketchup for the hash browns. After about 10 mins, and no ketchup, we asked the person who refilled our water. Another 10 mins went by and I had finished the rest of my food. When the server came to take our plates I said I would still like ketchup so that I could finish the potatoes. He finally brought it that time. What’s a big problem now is that they have proceeded to double charge my credit card. Going through a bank dispute presently to have this adjusted. I unfortunately think that while it’s a cute place with good food, the staff don’t seem capable nor can they handle the pace of a busy brunch. I wouldn’t recommend.

Sam Odle

Wonderful neighborhood restaurant near the waterfront. Lots of delicious healthy options on the menu and less expensive than most of the waterfront dining options. Highly recommend sitting outside on a nice spring or fall day.

Mark Battaglia

Great place. We got the prefix dinners. Delicious. Jessica our server went above and beyond to accommodate our 2 year old daughter..she made her day. Great food. Very family friendly. I would give 10 stars if I could.

lauren deldotto

peacock cafe is nicer for lunch than for dinner - they have a good selection of healthy choices and salads served in a nice atmosphere. another great place to eat outside during the nice weather.

Kim Conley

Very delicious food! Awesome fries, great service. Light & airy space. I really liked it.

Sumitra Kurkal

Limited vegetarian choices. Slow service

Benjamin Gonzalez

This place has a high class atmosphere I love. Go here for dinner, dressed well, and your experience will be complete. The servers are pleasant and helpful. The food is great. The drinks are great.

Lori McAfee

Good people watching, OK food, a needed break. Nothing to complain about, nothing stands out.

Ahmet Kutsi Nircan

Service is good. Food not bad. Tried the salmon but it was a bit dry.

Kevin R Kosar

I enjoyed having brunch here one Sunday morning. The place prides itself on fresh juices. I had a Red Zinger, which was made from apple, carrot, beet, and ginger. It is an easy combination to screw up, but they made it very well and promptly. The owner visited our table and said hello to seemingly everyone of the throng who was there. The coffee was good, as was the salmon omelet. I look forward to returning. (Visited 3/9/14)

David Park

Excellent Persian Kabob sreved for Nowruz!

Shaymaa Hassan

Amazing

Tafari Thompson

Very good brunch/breakfast menu. Great ambiance...chill vibes.

Shaun Frenza

Nice restaurant. Had a burger, maybe should have gone for the jambalaya. They don't have ranch dressing.

CCS 762

Nice out door seating. Food was good. I don't know why I am giving 4 stars instead of 5. My girlfriend said they are stingy on the wine. She wants a larger glass... yeeeaahhh..

Darius Anania

This is always worth the trip. Peacock Cafe is a DC staple and friendly place to get delicious food

Matt Mayfield

Awesome French style cafe. I had the burger! It was delicious with great fries!

Jeena Rubio

The restaurant is very clean and modern. Fast, friendly service. The food was delicious. I definitely recommend the eggs Benedict for sure.

Cecilia Quichiz

It was my first time in this restaurant and I really enjoyed it. The fettuccine was very good and the red wine too. The place has a nice decoration and the waiters are friendly.

Christine Mitchell

This is a hidden gem. Wide menu. Can usually get a table. Delicious dinner. And service has much improved in last several months to be very good! Hidden gem in Georgetown.

Drea Rose

Marinated White Anchovies on toast are simply amazing

Hunter Liu

Overall good experience.

Derek Daly

Great food and service

Michael Nemeth

The place to see and be seen in Georgetown. Great atmosphere and delicious food.

Sahar

Enjoyed my steak & egg.

Lynn-Marie Sederlöf-Airisto

Loved the food and so nice to sit outside and enjoy the spring weather. Went back two days later because my first experience was so good. ☺☺

William & Sahar DallNama

We enjoyed our brunch much while watching the world cup. You find many Iranian names on signature foods on the menu such as "Maziar omelette" or "Ghodsi ..." so cutely. The restaurant is presented as New American food though. Wish the chef creativeky introduce Iranian foods and signatures more.

Hannah F

Our favorite go to brunch spot. Casual elegance, with phenomenal food.

Lucas Tamvakas

Delicious food, excellent service, interesting atmosphere.

Lissette Lau

Went for brunch and it's overpriced for what it is. I had the egg whites omelet and it was okay. The biscuit was probably the best thing on my plate.

Melissa Williams

Eclectic atmosphere. Attentive servers. Food was good, but not out of this world. The tables are very close together and the space was small.

T S

Average food, overpriced, but service was very pleasant (except from our server, who became absent once we had our food). Ambiance was nice and I was in good company, so I guess I can't really go lower than three stars here.

Claudio Santori

Very unfortunate experience. My wife found a hair in her omelette. When they brought it back, there was a hair in the potatoes. Not sure what to think since this was my first time there.

Kim Bo

My dining experience at this restaurant was nothing short of phenomenal! Initially I was unimpressed; the decor could use some rethinking to create a cozier environment, the bathroom was dusty, a little bit messy and the ceiling looked like it had been swollen from a leak and wasn't gonna hold much longer

Pritthijit Kundu

I took a VIP visitor from India for lunch to Peacock Cafe as I was looking for a place that had vegetarian options. They had many vegetarian options and the visitor was very satisfied with the quality of food and service.

Sam Nakhai

One of the best restaurants in DC. Attention to details, good food and friendly staff. Look for their Meloncello, Limoncello and Watermeloncello it's out of this world.

Mohamed Diakite Pineda

I love the shakes and juices for brunch! And the food is good.

The Crypto

Best restaurant experience in DC! The food is amazing!

Melinda Kelly-Major

What a delicious dinner and the wait staff was impressive with just the right amount of attention at the right times. The wine list was well appointed and the desert was heavenly. Beyond the food and drink the atmosphere and lighting was well suited for a date night or a girls night out...the next time I am in DC I will return to eat outside in the courtyard which was closed due to earlier rain.

Vero Castañeda

Good service, fast, great food. The place is also comfortable and pleasant.

Heidi Howard

The staff, the food, and the atmosphere are all stellar. My BFF and I were visiting, and breakfast was so great the first day that we decided to go back the second day. Sometimes you expect to be disappointed on the second day, but in fact, we were delighted that breakfast on day two was even better than day one. I will make plans to visit DC just a visit peacock cafe.

marcus aurelius

Solid long-time dining spot in Georgetown that goes it's own way never following trends. Very friendly service staff attractive dining room with seating outdoors. Pretty conventional menu but portions are good sized and ingredients are fresh. Good cocktails too.

Sunshine Taylor

Peacock Cafe is a great spot for brunch. We were promptly greeted and seated by the host. The menu offers many options from pancakes to vegetarian chili. We started our meal with a fresh juice drink from the Peacock Cafe Juice Bar. We ordered the Sun Rise and the Power of ‘C’. The drinks are served in a chilled glass but you can request ice on the side if necessary. The drinks were refreshing. We followed the drinks with our entree orders which arrived within ten minutes. The Breakfast Croissant was really tasty. The Omelette of Egg White was DELIGHTFUL! I added lump crab meat and mozzarella cheese. Although the crab meat was fresh and delicious the additional ingredients were not necessary because the black bean relish, fresh spinach and roasted peppers packed a punch of flavor. I really enjoyed my experience at Peacock Cafe.

Arash Hamidi

The best persian restaurant in Dc

Fr. Philip-Michael F. Tangorra

Over-priced, posh, trendy and pretentious. They didn't even fill my Martini

Amy Ward

I was here for a celebration party after a law-school graduation, so my experience here may not be typical, as they made up a special menu for the graduation party. The menu was fantastic--I got the filet mignon--and all the drinks were delicious. The iced coffee with kahlua was particularly good. The service was good and attentive, and the space was nice. It isn't the best and end-all-be-all of dinners, so it doesn't get 5 stars, but don't take my 4 stars as any condemnation.

G. Larry Miller

After many visits never disappointed with food and service.

Sasha Marine

I ate here for brunch on Sunday. I had a reservation and would recommend you make one too - the place was quite busy. Wait staff were friendly and professional. The grapefruit cocktail was strong but well blended. The eggs on the eggs benedict chesapeake were semi-runny and slightly salted. The only boring item was the peacock fries; an unnecessarily large portion of thin cut fries with no additional seasoning. I would recommend you order a different side in lieu of the fries.

Irwin Lambersky

Great little restaurant. Food was excellent authentic Persian Service superb

Newton Hislop

Nice food and staff was grateful with the kids. The staff even give the kids an silly wrap string.. they were happy.

A great spot for a delicious, classy and reasonable brunch. We always bring visitors here because we love it and can rely on them to deliver a great experience. Highly recommend the Peacock Eggs Chesapeake.

Sara Boyer

I had a lovely lunch with my girlfriends here and the wait staff and hostess was super attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. There is also a pretty extensive drink list! Nice spot!

Brian Smith

Food was OK. The wait staff was not as expected.

William Cheng

The waffles with banana and walnut syrup was delicious! Wish I got the chance to try more before we left town!

Greg Geosits

Great food!

Erin Anderson

This place was SOOOOOOO good! The food was delicious and healthy! You should try the Chicken Pesto sandwich! It was delicious! I also ordered a really yummy smoothie! The service was awesome! Our waiter was interested in us and was so friendly! It's also really cozy there. They did excellent! The food definitely tasted as good as it smelled!

Sahand Dilmaghani

A restaurant that is good for virtually every meal. The prices are great, the quality of food is excellent, and the service is outstanding. The owners have done a great job creating a happy and sophisticated atmosphere. The location makes this a great place to start a sunday stroll around georgetown. Definitely my go-to-spot.

Alicia Moreno

Brunch was delicious! I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and they surprised him with a desert, that was so sweet of them. We recommend this place and will definitely be back. Thank you Team

Small plates are delicious and a nice way to sample some delicious offerings. Nice patio out front.

Sarah Todd

Great little spot, it was off M St enough to feel quiet and local, amazingly helpful and friendly staff, prices in the teens for entrées, very high quality food and presentation for. The price, vegetarian friendly, fabulous brunch, juice, lemonade etc. Highly recommended!

David Brown

Tasty food

Mahroo Habibi

Always delicious food, excellent service.

mel ason

Delicious! Reasonably priced.

Positively Living

Nice place with good customer service. A little pricey, but very nice atmosphere, and the food was delicious. Some of the servers were a little impersonal, but again I would still give a good rating for service.

Mahir Zeynalov

I have been in this place multiple times now. The servers are absolutely lovely. It is a very silent and friendly place. Lots of space for lunch and to dine. Recommended.

Jackie Marcinko

Excellent food and service.

Chris Alex

We were in on Sat around noon. We put our name on the list but hey forgot us and seated several people that came after us before we inquired. We had lunch items which were just OK but I have a feeling breakfast might be the better choice. We were starving so we ordered fries and they came out pretty quickly but were not fully cooked and were soggy. Very busy, very tight, very crowded and quite loud if you're trying to have a conversation. Make a reservation if you can for sure.

jalon jackson

Everything at this cafe is amazing. Literally, everything. Even down to the coffee and their bread. The environment that they set up in the restaurant is classy and chic. I came here to with family and the food was so full of flavor with every bite, and worth every penny. I've honestly never been to a place with such an interesting new variety on their menu. The owner even came by to see how we were doing, thanked us for coming, and was truly very kind. I highly recommend this place, as well as their calamari, and their rigatoni. Never had better.

david melchor

This place is really nice. I had the Filet mignon and it was more than delicious. Every bite melted in your mouth. I have to tip my hat to the chef. We had a table of 20 and they handled it well. The staff were exceptionally professional and were on there A game. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. We were there for a graduation celebration for Georgetown Law. This place is walking distance from the University.

Ski Bischof

Very good food, unfortunately small portions for the price.

Danielle Duran

Underwhelming experience and food. The Eggs Chesapeake served on soggy white bread toast. OK pancakes. Excellent coffee. Good service. Sticky menus. Maybe they are better on a day not filled with Mother's Day brunch parties.

Gisele Soares

Delicious

Habibi Diali

The service here has never failed me. The Iranian owners are so nice and accommodating.

Grainne Mazon-Shafer

25 years of excelance.

Rez Alborz

The food was just okay and it got dark inside after being there for only 20 minutes.

Jan Puckett

Excellent faire and very friendly staff

Saturn Ring

Excellent professionalism and courtesy. Thank you so very much for making our brunch such a pleasant experience. Will always be back.

David Dammen

excellent service & food!

Chris Refice

Unlike the rest of DC they keep it simple and real! Awesome wine and spirits selection.

Paris Smith

We had a great time at Peacock Cafe. I was happy to see that others had children with them when we entered, as we wanted a family dinner. The decor was great as there was mood lighting, nice artwork, and just a great looking restaurant. There was outside seating, but on a cool, rainy evening, everyone was inside. The waiter was nice and knowledgeable, and someone who appeared to be one of the Chefs came out to bring our appetizers and our meal. He was impressed a 10 year old ordered the curry lamb burger and came back after we ate to ask how everything was and tell the 10 year old that he was impressed with his palette. :) I would go back. The tropical margaritas were great, the calamari, nachos, and arugula salad was great, and our entrees - salmon, curry lamb burger, and jambalaya was delicious!

Drew DeNardo

My wife and kids really enjoyed their entrees (fettuccine, grilled chicken, veggie burger). I did not enjoy my entree as much (baked ravioli) mostly because the sauce seemed like straight tomato paste. I could tell that this was a good kitchen and I would come back and would order something different.

Eric Frye

Mother's day brunch. The food was great. Looked great, tasted great. The staff was fantastic. Very friendly and quick. Definitely going back. Love Georgetown.

Zoe Getman-Pickering

The waitstaff was lovely. The food however was aggressively mediocre. The pistachio soup was tasty, though less interesting than I expected. The whole baked fish and ravioli were made with good technique but boring flavors. The ravioli in particular was very bland.

Jessie Wilson

So impressed with this place! We biked down from Bethesda to here for brunch and the staff was kind and attentive (even though we were sweaty). The Eggs Benedict was delicious and very well prepared. The owner also came out to check on us and introduce himself: he is a very warm and accommodating person, and agreed that the cafe could use some more bike parking! I'll definitely be back!

J Thompson

food and service excellent.

Josh Higham

Fun vibe. Unfortunately, no non-dairy coffee creamers apparently?

Sylvia S

Loved the shoestring french fries and salmon cake with quinoa

TheBriGuy

Food was excellent, service was pleasant but slow. no complaints, would go again.
