REVIEWS OF PAUL IN Virginia

French style cafe. Excellent choice for affordable fare in Georgetown. Seating and table service upstairs.

Thomas Isidean

Great coffee and pastries. Friendly and efficient service. Authentic tasting pasties and feel to the place. They have all the classics you would expect to find in a French pastry shop. We enjoyed the second floor seating area.

Chaz Pugliese

Changed everything... It sucks now!!

Tashena Maxwell

So cute, a lot of varieties and they’re all extremely yummy. I love this place. The workers actually know how to speak french too which was a plus cause I’m obsessed with the language.

Joyce Mull

Love Paul! Will always make a stop when in town

Serge C

Had one of the best breakfasts there. Highly recommend.

Craig Bates

Great food and service.

Busy atmosphere and pretty baked goods. My husband and I came by for breakfast. We ordered 2 ham and cheese croquets a small latte and a pastry. The cost was $40+. We thought it was very pricey. We realized after getting our food and sitting down that we were billed for an additional sandwich and drink. At that point I asked the cashier there was a mistake. She asked for my card to fix the issue, but upon handing my card n new receipt back, she made note that in trying to fix their mistake, she had deleted someone else's transaction along with mine n now had to recharge me. Nmp.. why even mention that to me? Other than that mishap food was decent. I'd give the food a rating of 4/5 n service 2/5. Instead of rushing people just pay more attention to orders.

The prices are affordable for a place in Georgetown, ranging from $2-6 for cakes and pastries and $10-20 for savory dishes. $2 for iced black tea. There's free wifi but don't expect to charge your phones or laptops here, as I guess they want it to be a social atmosphere, not a working hub. I especially applaud the sugar level of cakes and pastry. Unlike American dessert, French dessert is not as sweet, stays true to the taste of their original ingredients. Best chocolate tart! Friendly service. They're busy but not rude.

John Dahl

Fantastic touch of Paris. Stop for a fresh baguette with prosciutto mozzarella and tomato or a pastry. The ladies are incredibly friendly even when the line appears to never end.

Zuhall Orokzai

Paul is definitely my favorite bakery because of it’s super fresh and super delicious pastries. They have authentic French pastries and the café is a very cozy place to spend some quality time.

Ahmed A. Naby

Fresh bread, pasta was perfect, and one of the best Turkish coffees i got in my life. Prices are a little bit expensive but fits the quality of service.

Giedrė Matuleviciute

Love Paul! Fresh pastries and delicious coffee.

Karly Harris

The food here is delicious and very French but definitely overpriced and overcrowded.

Jorge Luis Colombo

Good food but self-service

Eyal Rosin

Nice place for a snack and a pause when touring the area.2nd floor has a nice view.

Timothy Fitzgerald

It was a fun little place to visit with some pretty good pastries. I enjoyed the multilingual service, and the feel of the place. While the pastries were pretty good, the ones we got didn't seem like anything much beyond a normal pastry one could find anywhere else. Its entirely possible it was just our batch, though.

Sean Lim

Food is decent, but service is hot garbage!

Edward Phillips

Not good.

Maud Lhors

Love it !!! I am like in my own country !!!

tallie ramot

Yummy bakery items but the service is TERRIBLE. It's like the servers never worked in service before and had no idea what they were supposed to be doing. I would recommend to get some stuff to go, don't bother sitting in for breakfast or anything

Yoradyl Benitez

I love their breakfast selection but I especially love their croissants!

Dan Munzner

Great food, comfortable dining atmosphere, should have been a five star experience, but the wait staff does not know all the food's ingredients. I was served pastry with a chocolate hazelnut filing after asking about ingredients and nuts due to allergies , and being told the were none. Wonderful place, but be cautious if you have allergies.

Juliana Guide Gico

bad service and by 11am no salmon whaaat, waiting time for a sandwich is 30 min or more and forgot about my coffee order. not going again

Keegan Olton

Delicious pastries and sandwiches. Excellent atmosphere, definitely worth a stop. Very small and crowded which actually adds to the charm. Customers were all very friendly and I spoke with a few people about the area while in line. The Labeling of food items doesn't make much sense and is not consistent, however the items look so delicious that they really don't need labels.

Germaine Bell

I didn’t try the food but my wife tried the bread sample when we were walking by and she had to go buy a loaf. So we stopped in and had a couple coffees as well. Coffee is coffee so I can’t say much for it, but the atmosphere of the bakery was very nice. A bit upscale, but not too much and quiet enough so we can relax and have a conversation.

Richard Wicker

We go to Paul anytime we are in the area. The coffee is great and the food is always good. My wife loves the salads and I love their breads abd pastries. I will stock up on Palmiers if they are fresh. There goes the waist line (A waist is a terrible thing to mind).

Ardian FuGaA Kurtolli

We just got coffee and tea, but also the edibles looked very nice. One star minus because the service felt a bit slow

Roman Gancberg

Best croissants

mustafa Suwaylih

Paul is an amazing bakery, and inexpensive choices. We went there for coffee. I had iced latte with chocolate croissant. Everything was perfect. The second floor has great view to the M street if I’m not mistaken. The decorations of the store is amazing especially the second floor.

Boz

Attitude of the 2 folks working up front here on a lovely Sunday morning was as wack as it gets. One didn't know what brand of coffee they serve, the other had a nasty way of a answering a simple question to "Do you have almond milk?" Just embarrassing...

castlebyastream

Such a splendid little gem! I've been here for two years and could not believe I had never eaten here before. The fare is not heavy, but it is fresh and satisfying. Certainly pricey for the typical college student, but for anyone else that is easily justified by the safe, comfortable atmosphere and the professional, multi-lingual service. Not a bad spot for a brunch date.

Nizar Farsakh

Great authentic European desserts and Delicacies and sandwiches as well as hot drinks like hot chocolate and different types of coffees. The setting is very similar to European cafes and even outdoor seating reminds you of Paris or other European cafes. Service is sometimes hit or miss but all in all that experience is nice.

Dr. Morteza Delroba

Small place and not so friendly, bathroom needs attention . They don’t seem to care . Coffee is not as good as other Locations.

Julia Clark

Slow service but good French breakfast stop if you want something traditional

milad stanley

Great taste of Paris in Washington ! I would go to this place every day of my life and i hope they open in Canada soon. Amazing quality and products.

Yara Eid

It's a great place for a coffee and pastries their sandwiches are delicious as well. You need to go up stairs for table service. They have a nice view of George town and Wisconsin avenue.

Jean-Charles Duval

Good Bread pastry but lazy workers at this area

Greg Read

Fantastic food, friendly service, a very cute place.

Carlos Lopez

Horrible service, I was there and this people have no idea how to do the service and no manager there

TeamWithERVING

Food was great but the service was horrible. Mr. Miguel Didn't even bother to bring us more coffee neither water HORRIBLE service. Hope this great restaurant improves their service

Marcy Estrada

Very poor service, they don't communicate properly. They have a special downstairs and we were told we have to go upstairs to have the special. When we went upstairs a rather rude waiter served us after we asked for the downstairs special. He didn't seem to be enjoying his job and brought coffees placing one on the table so rudely that the coffee spilled on the table. After we had finished the coffee he told us that the special did not apply to the upstairs restaurant. Would not recommend this place and would not come back. Everyone was rude and not helpful.

Sonya Xiaoyu Hu

A pretty solid choice for a casual breakfast, brunch, or lunch. The store is pretty cute and their food is all pretty tasty, but everything is definitely on the expensive side. However, they have great deals throughout the day, including their Breakfast Special, which is just a regular/chocolate croissant with coffee for $4, and their Sandwich of the Day, which lets you get one of their signature sandwiches for just $5. It's a solid and convenient choice for a quick meal (Monday's, which are the smoked salmon sandwiches, are definitely my favorite).

Ryan Hann

I don't know whats going on with the service in this place. Inpossibly bad service. We watched other people just leave because it took too long to be served. Luckily for us the food and coffee was pretty good once we got it. However we were told that several items on the menu were not in stock which is never fun when ordering. This place needs to invest in actually training their service team because they seem to have little to nil experience

Mirza Smajic

Desorganise, dirty, coffee was REALLY BAD... we had to leave the place!!!

Konstantin Rusch

It's oooook, if you're looking for a good bakery, you'll find maybe some nice stuff. Nevertheless they don't serve the quality oyu might find throughout France or other options in DC.

Alejandro Jerez

The brunch was nice, unfortunately we went when they were going to close it.

Innders

Really authentic French cafe that had amazing decor. We loved the little place and my crepe was delicious. Was slightly on the expensive side but nothing unreadable. It was worth the find for sure! Would love to go back again.

William & Sahar DallNama

Usually sitting outside or upstairs is a discussion in this Paul in Georgetown. When you pass that though, you can enjoy compete breakfast or combo lunch with variety of option and saving.

Mikhail Poda

Paul has the best chocolate croissants in DC. In particular this place (M & Wisconsin) has wonderful space in the first floor.

Ratings Are Important

Very expensive coffee and pastry shop with meals, but worth it. I had great quiche and excellent coffee.

Sandra Green

Perfect for late afternoon tea & pastry. Upstairs is a quiet room with a waiter.

Subhashini Muralidharan

Came here for brunch and loved it! Good coffee and liked the Quiche!! My friend loved the bacon. She dropped some on the floor and could not get over it! Service was great too!

Amber Shaikh

First time visitors need a little instruction on how the service works, otherwise, nice and feels off the beaten path. Great to relax and catch your breath.

Saad Chaudhry

Seating upstairs is really nice. Food is great, as always.

Sanchez A

Great, quick stop for coffee and dessert or a small sandwich on the first level. Go upstairs for a good view and waited service. The macarons are palm size and delicious.

Hussain Mubarki

Nice place with reasonable prices, but the waitress was so rude for no reason!

Joelle Egger

Paul bakery is a great place. Great coffee. Espressos. Sandwiches. Even better chips! I liked Paul's better when one could have a glass of wine. Nevertheless for upscale sandwiches and great coffees it's the place to go. I have to add several locations throughout the city!

Jim Blount

Great food and drinks. Outside seating for lots of people watching

Cameron Boozarjomehri

Their

David Danenfelzer

Best French bread and Mocha I've had in years. The patries are amazing and of great traditional quality.

pimkie chokolate

Great place with nice cashier Patricia

Monica Labib

Food is good i’m not gonna lie! But service is so bad and they are very rude and some of them wouldn’t even reply when I ask something. I love the one in Bethesda, but this one is terrible!!

akın Aksekili

Unbelievably bad service

Niroj S

Always a fan of this place. 4 star because of not enough seating space unless you want to sit format restaurant.

re hs

Great. Good range of prices from snacks to meals. I come for the sweets, but I see vegetarian meal options. Maybe a veg. Savory crepe would be nice. But let's get real. I'm here for the baked goods. Lots of places can get fillings right, and they certainly do here. But this place also does the crusts very well. Great variety, haven't made my way thru everything yet but I am working on it. Staff is nice and efficient, atmosphere is comfortable. I like it here.

William Suarez

Doesn’t respect the schedule. Close almost 15 min early

Joshua L

My favorite Paris visit without leaving dc

Eduardo Ramos

This bakery has so much potential to be good but it's the customer service brings it down. It's a small coffee shop and there isn't a lot space to sit down. Georgetown is a neighborhood that is world renowned that brings many tourists. The servers there are friendly but are overworked because of the high traffic. The owners of Paul Bakery are unethical in the way they charge customers. We order a vanilla latte, cappuccino and ginger latte which are individually priced priced on the menu. However, when the bill arrived, each drink was listed with additional charges for the flavors. If the ownership hired more workers for the weekend rush, then I believe the experience would definitely be much more enjoyable. Check the place out but bring your patience and be ready to wait.

Jeremy Cooper

I love coming here. They will welcome you in French and the food is truly delicious. My personal choice would be a salmon begets and a fresh orange juice

meme miller

The place is clean and nice. The food is good. However, Armelle was so rude to us. She ruined the beauty of the place :-(

ROHIT KHURANA

Coffee is good..but ppl serving are too rude. Be prepared to face arrogance.

Delaney Murray

Absolutely delicious breakfast. There is a full breakfast menu available upstairs in the darling seating area. This place really feels European! It was delicious and I will be back for more!

Christena Ellender

Slow service

Murat Tamer
