The only place in DC with no drinks on happy hour... happy hour food was OK, but they want $6 per shrimp for shrimp cocktail! No wonder it wasn't very busy. Bar tenders seemed bummed there weren't more people. Complaining in front of customers. Don’t come here for happy hour!

If you are in the mood for high quality steak in a business casual atmosphere then Mortons is the place for you! I recommend their bacon and onion macaroni and cheese for their side dish, T bone steak for their main course and for their dessert the double chocolate mousse.

Got stuck with a really poor server, despite the place being empty he was not around at all. Also the smoking patio outside is a little overwhelming if you want to sit outside. The food is great if you're ok with paying the high prices and the cocktails/wine are significantly marked up higher than most restaurants.

Wouldn't Know It's A Chain as hospitality originating from the kitchen always pleases. The hostess, kitchen and bar tender distinguish this Morton's from every other. I don't know why, but steak is consistently better at this Morton's. We ride Amtrak from NJ for no other reason than to dine and enjoy a cigar on the patio. A call ahead guarantees our porterhouse is hand selected, never ever over cooked or seasoned, and the kitchen always finds a way to send a message making us feel special. It's true, service on the patio can be imperfect. I suspect corporate is abusive of wait staff, as turnover is high and some servers are clearly unhappy. I blame Landry. We're experienced steakhouse patrons and no other steakhouse matches this for quality, consistency and personal warmth. We do welcome a more stable and happier wait staff.

The food was awesome and earns them five stars. I had the Cajun ribeye. Delicious. The lightweight pour of my neat cocktail earns them a single star. I felt pretty cheated given the $15 charge for a liquor that cost about $28 a bottle ( 750 milliliters).

Took advantage of the steak and lobster special. Even with the discount it was still expensive, but well worth it. We refrained from using our cell phones and noticed none of the other guests were using theirs. This is a very upscale and quiet establishment.

Great location and service, with a terrace where cigars can be enjoyed. Typical Morton's, but did have a dinner where three $60 ribeyes came out well done despite ordering medium rare. Management offered to replace, which we declined due to timing, but he did bring us some free desserts. Hopefully an anomaly.

Amazing steak and lobster Mac and cheese. Every bite had a big chunk of delicious lobster. I had the Cajun rib eye which is marinaded in great spices, honestly the best steak u have had in a long time. The bread pudding wasn't the best but the key lime was really good.

The food was good. The service was very slow took a long time to get food, when it came the French fries were cold. Ordered dessert a Souffle had to be ordered 1/2 hr early we ordered it same time as main meal it came 1/2hr after we finished eating. Cocktails were not the best for that price.

Disclaimer...I came here because my wife had a gift certificate. But, we were treated to excellent service and quickly seated. The food was divine and while expensive, and a la carte, everything was scrumptious. I ordered a Maker's on the rocks and it was a great pour. The waiter spouted off the extensive list of specials like a pro. I can't come every night considering the tab was $200 with tip...but the evening became a special occasion.

The ambience is nice. Large dinning room with outdoor seating area. It's on the 2nd floor. No valet parking available though. The service is super good. The steak is ... hmmm... a little or too burned. Their cajun spiced steak came out like a piece of charcoal. I can understand it was like that because of the spices. But, that means that dish is not a good dish on the menu when we have to eat the charcoal before we taste the beef.

Amongst the array of chain steak houses across the country, I am still a pretty big fan of Morton’s, and this location lives up to billing and does not disappoint. The food and menu are very standard Morton’s stock menus, But I’m not so sure that that isn’t good enough! They have a great menu with a lot of selections and the quality is just very very consistent. I would suggest visiting this Morton’s location.

Been here twice for lunch and my impression has not changed. Very average for a steakhouse - I can't think of a single steakhouse in D.C. I would pick Morton's over. First visit I had the scallops, along with the asparagus, creamed spinach and onion rings. The food was okay, nothing special. Second visit I had the filet mignon. It was fine but nothing special. Service was okay as well. Both experiences as well were just meh.

Thoroughly disappointed.... Fairness in reviews such as these offer interested patrons a fair 3rd party assessment of their experience. This is my experience... We decided to dine with Morton’s for the first time last night as it was closely chosen over two other steakhouse options within the DC Metro area. We went to Morton’s off personal referrals. We were told it was an excellent steakhouse, and offered wonderful service. Mind you, it was our first time dining with Morton’s. So, we were unfamiliar with the menu options. Also, let me set the tone here to say I am one that believes that if you have a debit card, or cash in hand, it shouldn’t matter what you look like...but, this may just be the business mindedness of me. Anyway, we were snubbed for about 10 minutes before being greeted by our server. She was fairly pleasant, and I had to make myself clear several times that we had never dined here. I was dining here with my girlfriend and mother on short holiday. Both of them enjoy steak, but she (girlfriend) is very picky as to how she likes it cooked. The server was mostly accommodating to this. So at this point, the experience wasn’t hateful. Then we enjoyed a nice conversation as we waited...I convinced the group and I it was going to be well worth the wait....being that it was about 45 minutes after being served our horderves. I legitimately thought this would be the best steak I had the opportunity in eating. Luckily I’m not a weatherman, or stock broker because my logic was far from the truth. Other than the steak tasting bland, and unnecessarily charred, this Ribeye had no noticeable marbling. I was honestly pretty disappointed, and the others in my party were pretty unenthusiastic about their options as well (2 filets). We chose 3 sharing sides...these were probably the best part of the meal. Then what took the cake here was not only the obnoxious alcohol/desert sales-pitch our server gave...but the way we were treated when my girlfriends debit card was geo-blocked because we were visiting as I mentioned. The server began getting hostile, inpatient, and refused to give her more than a second to simply unlock her banking app to validate the transaction. Then...wouldn’t you know! She runs the card and it goes through no problem at all! Now! She is as chirper as possible, knowing her tip hangs in the balance. No hard drinks, stuck with water. Final bill, $245. My group and I are all foodies, and I would gladly drop twice that on a Michelin Starred restaurant where you experience a well rounded culinary experience. I did not get a lick of that here. $245 gets me about 8 free ranged, organic steaks from my local butchery, and it also gets me a lot more smiling faces. Will not be back. This is a review, and it is purely opinion. But take it with caution if you are looking to dine here with exceedingly high expectations.

My colleague recommended Morton’s when I told her I was going to Washington. Booked a table at the Connecticut Ave location. Let me tell ya! The experience was out of this world. We had the Oscar sirloin with lobster, truffled mashed cauliflower and wild mushrooms. Although the food was phenomenal, nothing made the experience more memorable than KENDRA! She made our experience legendary! We will definitely be back.

Was here for a happy hour. The decor is great, the staff is friendly and helpful. We managed to score some free truffle fries which was a bonus. They don't have any draft beer but there the bottle list is reasonable if a bit pricy. They have a nice patio which is a level up, though it is generally crowded with folks smoking both cigarettes and cigars. Their specialty drink menu is extensive, though again pricy. Overall a classy slot for a few drinks and some nice bar food. I didn't get any of the actual steak so look at other reviews for that.

I went here for my grandmother's 80th birthday. I'm not even a picky or fancy person, but this place was beyond disappointing for $160+/person. The only redeeming qualities (and why they got more than 1 star) were possibly the entree, I had the salmon (pretty ok, but I've had better for much cheaper), and our server, he was super nice. The asparagus was over cooked and not seasoned AT ALL, and our mashed potatoes were also unseasoned and tasted like they were rehydrated powered potatoes. Desert was ok, but seemed like it was store bought. Their capresse appetizer left much to be desiered as well (tomatoes, mozzarella, and balsamic were incredibly bland), though I may be spoiled with my local tomatoes and home grown basil. Atmosphere was pretty nice.

I don't regularly eat steak. I can count on two hands the number of times that I've ordered steak at a restaurant. So take my review with a grain of salt. This was the best steak I've ever had. I ordered the Center-Cut Filet Mignon along with a side of brussles. Steak was medium rare, like I asked and was cooked to perfection. Service was stellar and the atmosphere classy, if not a touch on the ostentatious side. I would come here again in a heartbeat. Atmosphere 4/5 Food 5/5 Service 5/5

If you're looking for a nice restaurant that has great steaks and a nice selection, Morton's is a great choice. This location is very nice and right above the Farragut North metro station if you insist on riding the train. The service was wonderful with the decorum to match. The food is expensive as expected (but I guess expense is relative). If I had to suggest an item outside of their delicious steaks, it would be the brussel sprouts. The price I paid for a dinner for two including drinks and tip was a little over $200. I'm not saying $200 is the average price for a dinner for two people but you could easily spend about that much here. I'd recommend this place.

We visit Mortons 3-4 times per year and this one was by far the worst. Theybforgot a menu for almost 15 minutes, wrong salad for me, wrong entree for my wife, forgot to enter our souffle order although they would not admit it. We ordered it with the meal and reminded them half way through. It came 30 minutes after we finished dinner and was like soup. Steer away from this Morton's!!

We made a reservation for valentine's day. Our server, a tall thin gentleman that did not give us his name, took our orders and throughout the night seemed annoyed when we asked questions about the menu. I am a soft speaker, and when the server could not hear what I was saying in the busy section, he beckoned for me to speak louder rather than adjust or come closer to hear me more clearly. As we asked questions about the menu, he responded with an attitude and made us hesitant to ask any further questions. Our appetizer was delicious, but arrived with part of the ticket still attached to one of the scallops which was a turn off. When asked about the ingredients in one of the sauces since I have a peanut allergy, he responded very frankly, as though we should have known what ingredients were included in the dish. I unfortunately did not enjoy my first selection, to which the server was able to exchange the meal. However the kitchen was closing at that time. The second meal I received was flavorless and lacked any sort of seasoning. When we kindly mentioned this to the server, he took the plate with a disgruntled look and did not say a word to respond to our inquiry, showing clearly that he was upset that we had asked any more questions. After attending to another table, he then threw over his shoulder that he would take care of it as made his way to the kitchen. My guest and I felt a disappointing lack of hospitality as in previous years, we experienced great service from a former server named Owen who made us feel so special that we decided to make coming to this restaurant a tradition. However, after last night's service, I am hesitant to return and feel very unwelcome. Be sure to know the ingredients in your dishes as asking will only annoy the staff. An overall poor and disappointing Valentine's day.

This is a classic steakhouse. Think pricey, dressy, top notch service. Their definition of temp runs on the cooler side. I usually take my steak rare, but go medium rare here. I'll even go medium for the filet, which I find to be still more red than pink. The sides are portioned to share. If you want the flambe, let your server know when you order your entree. They have a reasonable three course lunch special that would be $20-30 cheaper than ordering a la carte. It's not my favorite steakhouse. But it's a solid option for reliable quality of food and service.

Each meal item was either not as ordered, tasteless, or burnt. We were told we could customize salad, yet it still arrived with items we asked to be removed. Steak was very tender but lacked any flavor. Brussel sprouts were burnt, shrimp and sea bass overcooked. When we asked for the check, it took over 5 minutes even though our waiter was not assisting other guest, and finally another waiter told us the system was frozen. Overall a pretty poor experience, which makes it all the worse given what we paid. Beyond not recommending, would recommend avoiding this Mortons.
