Excellent all round! Creative chef, trained in France. Adorable staff! Comfortable seating.
A lovely unapologetically French bistro for a leisurely lunch. Their house salad is a work of art and every dish that I've had (many) is exquisitely prepared. The wait staff is charming and you feel well served, not rushed
French food without attitude
Service with Great Food and a moderate wine list( affordable) makes this a regular stop in the Falls Church area.
Very gracious staff, made our food per request, everything was delicious!
Good food. Quaint.
Cozy bistro perfect for business lunches. Nice selection of standard French fare with reasonable prices. Service is attentive but not overbearing.
Set menu lunch quite good. Mussels and fries looked best. Lovely ile flottante for dessert. Parking limited. Easy bus connection to East Falls Church Metro.
Great, great food. Service is excellent. Portions are very good. The food was hot when it came to the table and that is a plus for me. The bread is wonderful. An extremely enjoyable and delicious meal.
Nice place for a private dinner. Food was delicious. The service was exceptional. Cocktails were just right.
New ownership but same friendly staff
Excellent French/Continental cuisine, outstanding wine list w/ reasonably priced wines, and great service.
Very good food, authentic French food.
Very disappointing recent experience with service.
Fantastic food.
Really cute place with a great menu. Everything we had was delicious.
We love La Cote D'Or. Such a great neighborhood spot
Great staff and food. A bit pricey.
We had a excellent cassoulet and a bavette steak. Wine prices are reasonable, and the selection and quality are good. There are different fixed price options , which we found to be a good value. The bread pudding for dessert was not too sweet, with a great consistency and a nice cream sauce. Parking is the biggest problem here, but it is walking distance from East Falls Church Metro.
Good food, great service
A hidden gem in Falls Church. Very traditional menu and service. Check for specials. Truly excellent coffee!
Definitely an adult night out establishment. Food and service fatastic. Prefixe menu was superb!
Escargot was good. Service was good. Although, my mussels were bland (I even added my own butter, salt, and pepper in their white sauce for flavor but it only help a little bit). My other recommendation is for servers to smile a little …
The service is excellent here! Such kind staff.
Just had lunch and I liked it very much. I ordered trout which is one of my favorite fish. It was very tasty and cooked perfectly. The staff was attentive and happy to comply with our requests. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. This is not the place to go if you're in a hurry.
Good food but not huge portions. Nice ambiance.
Just a really nice French restaurant. Great food; great staff.
This is a very bad restaurant. Poor quality of service, as they claim to be French. I was very disappointed last Monday, 7/1 it was my birthday, horrible. The ribye steak they served to all of us did not have any taste and topped with fatty cheese. and had bad smell. The creme brulee was not really cooked, and the waiter was very rude. We spent $400 for a terrible dinner. I came home and I was sick.
We went for Valentine's Day and enjoyed the special menu. Atmosphere, service, and food were top notch. We will visit again.
Wonderful service. Food above average. Parking could be better. Will definitely go back
Delightful restaurant. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great. Their specials are a great value
I visit this place several times year and have not bèen disappointed yet. A great neighborhood restaurant worth driving to, even if you live some distance away.
We went for brunch in October and I was shocked first how long it took to prepare when the restaurant was not that full and that my sunny side egg was practically raw when served. A runny egg is ideal, a clear egg is NOT. I told the waiter that the egg was raw when he came to take the plates...he didn't try to make it up and my expensive meal went uneaten. I won't be back. The location is good. The staff was fine. The decor a bit old but not dirty.
We often come on our anniversaries. We like the outer room that faces the street but most people like the inside room, maybe because it is more clearly French decor. Oh, yeah, and the food is great. Reasonably priced for a French restaurant
Neighborhood French restaurant. Good value on traditional French cuisine.
Nice place with an old charming feel. Good is very well prepared and consistent. Reasonable price. Parking in the parking lot of Econo Lodge but not many slots available. A lot of locals come here often.
Quaint French bistro. Yummy food tasty wine.
Absolutely recommend, looking forward to our next visit.
Cool services!
The food was bland. The fries were really good.
Well prepared Classic French cusine at moderate prices
Fantastic meal as always. Every course was perfection. Chef was able to deliver exceptional quailty on one of the busiest nights of the year (New Year's Eve) late into the service. The value was beyond compare for the price. We have been to the restaurant many times and have never been disappointed. We will be back soon.
Very nice French restaurant - food, price, and atmosphere are more than a cafe. Food is traditional French for the most part and is very good. Prices are reasonable for what you get. The atmosphere is that of a family run restaurant in a small French town.
Quaint old neighborhood brasserie serving good traditional French bistro food
Everything was lovely here! It is such a quiet, calm, and relaxing setting. The bread was superb, and the fruits were fresh! I ordered the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. This dish is perfect. It was very flavorful! I will order this again for brunch when I come back! I totally recommend this place!
Amazing BLT!!!! Fries were not cooked enough but still decent. $$$
We love the annual Peach Dinner! And we love this restaurant. Chef Jacques has fenominal inspirational gems on the menu daily, if you haven't been here I highly recommend it.

Nice and Achille spot for talking around the table
Re-discovered this gem, charming setting, everything we ordered was delicious, service professional and the french wine by-the-glass a real treat. Will be back soon.
The best restaurants.....
Classic French. Not La Auberge but it's local.
Excellent food. Enjoyable experience.
Good food, ok service but we could have done without the music in such a small room.
Delightful charming little restaurant. The wait staff are attentive without being annoying. The menu had a number of French standards and a few treats as well. There are also great pre-fixe options too. We all had different meals and each of us was pleased. Save room for dessert. All was good except the bread pudding. Sad because it was so pretty.
Went for brunch during restaurant week. Food and service were good. Loved the feel of this place.
Mighty tasty
Lights near the window were dimming intermittently. Very annoying last night. Food is average. Good sound level in the porch area. Needs some help.
Nice quaint restaurant everything was good, nothing was great. Quiche a dissapointment.
Well priced with good food. Great specials. You might not expect it from the outside.
Great brunch, cozy and romantic place
Fresh food = long wait from ordering until eating. <-- authentic European slowfood experience
Cute little place. Great service and delicious food. I had the Lobster Bisque and the Mergues which I highly recommend. They have lunch special so even better! Also, it is super cute inside.
Pretty good food and cozy atmosphere.
Superb! Wide menu selection (includes nightly prix fixe option), excellent and authentically French preparation. Setting is warm, comfortable, and conducive to conversation. Attentive service.
Pricey, but a fine meal. Lamb was flavorful and perfectly done to medium rare. Crepe was too cheesy. Raspberry tarte was excellent.
Very nice. Classic French with a twist
We went for restaurant week, food is excellent, service attentive.
excellent service and as I recall, it was yummy.
Perfect lunch at a perfectly appointed French restaurant!
My favorite restaurant! Superb service and the food has never failed. They know my favorites, quiche lorraine, salad and latte.
Amazingly tasty food with great service.
Everything is perfect. I have some good memories of lunch here with my foodie sister. True french cuisine and the atmosphere is full of romance. You can almost believe you are in a Paris bistro.
Great service, food, and value.
Very poor customer service and the manager is extremely rude. Quality of food has decreased since opening. Too bad as we were hopeful to find a good tasting quality restaurant in the neighborhood.
Had a nice family gathering for dad’s 89th bday with 27 people. Appetizers were great, onion soup was extremely salty this time, and entree were so so. Jorge and his helpers were very nice, but very slow in getting the food ordered (like an hour later) and on the table (an hour and a half later). When bill calmed, they over charged us over $1900 and fixed it cause they added 5 more appetizers too many of on the check. They charged $59 for cake cutting fee but never told us beforehand. The server even confirmed that he only told me about putting the cakes in the refrigerator. Initially the manager said that since the server never told me about the fee there would be no charge but then changed his mind and argued with me saying that I told them the day before that I had a cake when I made the reservation. (I did not, since I didn’t pick up the cakes until prior to dinner). I told him I did not tell him that and only gave him the number of people coming but he insisted I did. He also told me he needed $200 deposit to hold the spot the day before, but when I called bank the next day to confirm, they did not take a deposit. I’ve always liked going there but the manager, Chris, just caused a bunch of unhappy customers arguing over a $59 charge when the check was almost $2k. How sad...We had a great time with our family Bc they were able to accommodate all of us, and considering that our dad is wheelchair bound and doesn’t go out much, this was a treat to have all of us together. We will not be returning!!
The food is absolutely fine, but the service is so bad. The waiter, who with all due respect cannot pronounce the name of the French dishes his restaurant is serving, couldn’t fathom an extra espresso shot in our two orders if caffe latte! He kept saying: we cannot do it because it is a machine that makes the latte. I had to explain to him that he can make an extra shot of espresso and “manually” add it to the latte, and charge it to our bill. It still took him a while and a couple of repetitions to get it. He also brought us clearly old berries as “fresh” fruits. When one of us said but they clearly look old, his answer was: we cut them yesterday and kept them in the fridge! Finally, the decor look so old and outdated. The chairs have sticky spots as if they have never been cleaned.
We lived in Europe for four years. This is the closest we have found to similar cuisine.
Great place
Good service, food was below par.
Delicious 3 course menu. Lovely atmosphere. Hidden gem!
Excellent food and service, quiet room you can ask to be seated in. You feel like you're in France, it's intimate and comfortable. Prices are reasonable for this area. I'll go there again at every opportunity.
Amazing. Hard to imagine a better French restaurant .
Good reasonably priced French.
Delicious Coq au Vin. Abled to have a real Kir. Disappointed in the dessert selection. Friendly staff. Would go back.
Amazing bouillbase!
Amazing French food!
Decent French food. A little pricey, though.
This is a very authentic french restaurant. The servers and staff have very thick French accents so it makes the experience that much more authentic. Unlike France though, these servers are very nice and helpful.
Classy restaurant. We had a tasty dinner and the service was very good.
Super food, service, atmosphere. Daily specials make this our FAVORITE Arlington restaurant!
If you want a special dinner and don't want to pay four star prices, this is the place to go. They have a special menu every night and specials in terms of wine most nights so this is the place to go
Great food and service as slways
This place was great. Went here for restaurant week and the menu was awesome. I started with a cheese plate which had four cheeses and the champagne apples on this plate I could eat all day. The pickled melon went great with the goat cheese. Also, the onion soup is delicious.
Everything about our meals was perfect. Delicious and perfect presentation.
Good service and great food
My wife and I love the French Onion Soup here.
Excellent
