After hours on the road, this was the best decision we made. Stopped in town for some grub and happened upon this place. Absolutely packed but moved quickly. We sat at the bar, were able to catch some NFL on tv, and had delicious burgers. Cooked perfectly - meaning thin patties on the grill so cooked through. Brioche bun. Melts cheese. Special sauce with the fries. And fantastic beer selection. All in all excellent visit. Would come back if I had one close to me.

I bought 10 guys from the shop I work in lunch from Jack Browns today... I made HUGE brownie points! I have never heard the shop as quiet as it was for the 3 minutes it took them to inhale their burgers. Everyone got something different from the menu and the order was perfect. From the great food to the friendly service, it was a fantastic experience.

I am here from Upstate NY I just decided to try this place. I am impressed. The beer-tenders were friendly and engaging and very enthusiastic. I made my own bacon cheeseburger with bacon jam, bbq sauce, onions and pickles. Omg this was the best burger I have tastec so far..❤❤

The original location of this local burger joint. The "Greg Brady" is a favorite, with mac and cheese and barbeque chips. The "Elvis" is for the more adventurous, with peanut butter. Burgers may be small but they pack a punch. Opt for the sweet potato fries and if you like spicy, grab a side of shocker sauce. If you can get a spot at the bar you're a lucky one. Take off a load and grab a brew. If you drink 100 different beers you get a plaque on the wall.

The rain kept the outdoor section closed, and it is small inside, but our group of 5 was seated quickly. My wife really liked her burger, the Doctor Gonzo. My burger, the Cowboy, was messy with the barbecue sauce, but it tasted good.

Such a great bar. Nice folks, good crowd and amazing burgers. We took our 4 young kids and saddled up at the bar. They loved watching the burgers cook in the grill. We had several of the specialty burgers and they were awesome. Sweet potato fries are also excellent and the Jack Brown sauce is a must. Hoping to get back again soon.

It's a shame that after 6 years of frequenting this place while at JMU, I came back to see that the warm, welcoming culture I was accustomed to has turned into what I experienced today. Just got back from a deployment and wanted to show my friends the hburg staple I once loved and enjoyed, but instead was shocked at the rude staff that worked on 16 Feb 2019 around 2pm. I'm not one to ever complain but this was the first time I have EVER felt discriminated against. I wrote this because I am embarrassed and disappointed by rude comments and attitudes of the staff. Great establishment, please purge the toxic staff.

Great burger joint in Harrisonburg and worth the stop. Tried the Popeye burger, which was the daily special, included spinach and artichoke dip. Something I would never have considered, but so happy I did. They brought a special sauce which was perfect for the burger and also on the fries. Not sure what it was but you have to try it. Numerous people in town mentioned there burgers and I will be one also as I am in the area.

Too expensive for what you get. Burger wasn't really anything special. It did have a nice flavor but you'd get a better burger and value at a 5 Guys or something similar. Fries are awful as they were a thin, crinkled cut fry with no potato filling inside. Like hitting local places but it needs to be worthwhile. This was not.

We LOVE Jack Brown's! My husband is in the notcher club, and thinks the Greg Brady is the best Burger out there. I prefer the regular cheeseburger, but like a side of their face-melting shocker sauce for my fries! The bartenders are all great, and the cooks are fast!

My cousin recommended this little burger joint / bar. It was her favorite place to go when she was in college here. The decor is a LOT to take in, but I love how unique it is. They have pictures, stickers, signs, and graffiti everywhere; a live edge wood bar, and a special mayo sauce that is subtle and delicious. When an order is placed at the front register, a zipline takes it whizzing to the cook with an audible click, and you can watch your food be made right in front of you. They have extensive outside seating with a huge , colorful and abstract mural stretching along the whole side wall, great for Instagram snaps of your time there. Presentation wise, theres nothing fancy about the food. My mother ordered a side of mac and cheese and received it in a typical Chinese takeout folding box , even though the place was not an Asian restaurant in the least??? AND I LOVE THE ABSURDITY OF THAT. An incredible beer selection beckons from three different chalkboard along the back of the bar, with outlandish names and beautifully reasonable prices. Our waitress/bartender took great care of us, and was efficient and reliable. The beer offered on tap comes out of a vintage childs metal toy car, (with interior piping of course) that appears to be crashing into the wall. There is a disco ball, above which at least 30 patrons bras hang, of unknown origin or reason, as well as a bicycle. The hood of a vintage car as well as a pair of mannequin legs with flippers on sit proudly above one of the hanging menus, and the deershead plaque near the bathroom is wearing diving goggles. Every inch of the wall is covered with patron plaques, and Polaroid snaps on string hung above that. Vandalized dollar bills are all along the rafters, and the space is tall and long, but not wide at all. The menu is concise and beautiful, there are about 8 regular burger offerings, and on the flip side, they have daily specials; a burger option offered only on the indicated day of the week it is listed under, none of which are on the regular menu. I ordered the El Chupacabra from the main menu, which was beef patty, sweet chili bacon jam, goat cheese, and arugula with a side of fries and a sweet tea. 12/10 nectar of the meat deities delicious. Every patron I overheard said this restaurant made them into burger "snobs" and they now studiously avoid eating burgers almost anywhere else. If you are in town, GO. Treat yourself to a mind meltingly delicious lunch or dinner.

Completely passable college town pub. Small and dark inside, outside seating which borders a parking lot and a street, so not exactly picturesque. They only serve burgers, some really creative, and the BBQ version is absolutely delicious. Refreshingly, they aren't humongous, but are a good enough size. Fries are good, crinkle cut. Bottled beer selection is good, but only 4 taps.

I read another person's review about the rude staff after I experienced it myself just a few minutes ago. Granted, my order was a pick up and I didn't spend much time there, but the coldness and distance I experienced was greater than any thing I've ever experienced. It took several minutes before I was acknowledged. After I finally was and told them I was there for a pick up I asked to add on a soda. You'd think I was asking for change like people throughout Main St down there. I haven't even gotten to the food which was pricey. A specialty burger known as "The Cowboy" was small and tasted like Cookout's burger just dipped in grease. Along with the crinkle fries that looks and tastes like you'd get at Aldi's. Not only will I not be back but I will strongly advise anyone not waste their time or money.

Anytime I pass Harrisonburg, I have to stop. This little college bar is one of the best jewels that you can find along I-81. Never once have I had a bad experience. The staff are great and the food amazing! Highly recommended.

This restaurant was voted as the best burger place in town at least once. Their food is pretty good, but the location is small. It's very popular with the college students and it's set up like a bar so there aren't very many actual tables. Expect a long waiting time unless you visit the site while the students are gone (such as during the Winter, Spring, and Summer Break). It's worth trying at least once and their menu doesn't always stay the same.

I really enjoy the food here, but won't be going back. I just ran in to pick up an order of fries with a side of their sauce. I paid for my order and left a tip. I was sitting in a chair waiting on my order and then the bartender asked to move when another party came so they could have my seat. Soooooo......I guess if you are a paying customer and waiting to pick up your food after tipping, other customers are seen as a priority and you are made to stand over in the corner and wait.. After leaving frustrated and getting back to my car to look at the food the order was wrong....and again, I only ordered fries and a side of sauce....how in the world does this even happen?
