Hector, our waiter was awesome and the service was great. Yellow cheese dip was not good, tasted sour and the guacamole was very salty. The homemade salsa and quesadillas were really good. Chile relleno , chicken taco, and ground beef taco were just average.

Great food, great service and always a great experience. The restaurant is in a convenient location that makes it easy to access. Everything I've ever ordered here was delicious, especially the chicken enchiladas, and the free chips and salsa are to die for as well. The waiters and waitresses are always very kind and helpful, and I've never had anything but good experiences with the staff. If you're planning to go anytime after 5, I'd recommend making a reservation because the place gets very busy. Besides that, Guapo's is always worth the wait, and I will be back!

Excellent Mexican restaurant with great tasting food and generous portions. The service was quick and very attentive. They offer freshly made tortilla chips and salsa when you sit and quick refills without asking. It's no wonder Guapo's is busy. Don't get discouraged by the line at the door, it moves very quickly.

Website is inaccurate! My family and I love this restaurant with that said, brought my family here on Mother’s Day because the website said they offered brunch at Bethesda location. They did not have a brunch option. They really need to up date the website if they are not going to offer what the site says they offer.

We were there for a buffet luncheon. I dont think the food in the buffet is representative of what it would be had we been there for individual meals. It was an enjoyable atmosphere with friendly staff who hustled and paid attention to us. The margaritas were good! No idea why the regular margaritas (on the rocks) are poured out of a plastic bottle that looks like it was used as a bleach container in its previous life and the skinny margaritas are made fresh. Doesn't look good while sitting at the bar. Just beware that your regular margaritas are not made fresh which is why they may taste warm. Oddly enough they still cost $11 dollars. I was looking forward to trying this place out and was disappointed.

Great experience! Lovely patio dining and they allowed our dogs to sit with us (big thanks for that!). The tropical ceviche was very good. My 10-yr old said they were the best nachos he's ever had. Chicken and steak fajitas were super, but the homemade tortillas were the best! Thanks for accomodating our dogs and giving us a wonderful lunch. Quick and friendly service too.

Service was abysmal. We had to remind Felix multiple times for things, granted a huge table from NIH came in, but mgmt wasn't very good at staffing enough help. Reminders on more salsa, more chips (twice) and refills went unheeded. We had to remind them to refill drinks and even then, it would be 2-3 minutes before they brought the glass back. Here's an idea, leave the drink, bring a new one when you see it empty. When you're dropping off the salsa, look at and see if the drinks are empty (which they were). Serving sizes were smaller than other local comparable TexMex joints (we're at Chuys and others a lot). Tortillas are fresh (plus), but I can't get over how piss poor service was. Four of us with no alcohol and no appetizers clocked an $80 bill before tips. I actually thought about leaving a severely reduced tip but did the 15% anyhow.

Me and my wife are hardcore Mexican food critics! We have been eating the same order “pollo enchiladas, with rice and beans and either queso for appetizer dip or guacamole” my wife swears that you can tell if a Mexican joint is on point by the the way this order taste! Most places have bad guacamole but good enchiladas or bad rice or beans. So while staying at the American in we stumbled on to Guapo’s. Everything’s delicious!! No Cap!! I’d pay double to eat this food, I’d even say perfect!! Bad part is Mexican food will never taste the same after this!! Absolutely Love this place!! Four thumbs up from Mr. And Mrs. Loi !! Place is phenomenal!

I must say, this restaurant is now one of my favorite places to get Mexican food! The warm crispy chips and the spicy salsa made our wait time fly away. Veggie Fajita was just amazing. We and another couple enjoy going here. Most meals are reasonably priced and the portions adequately sized. At the table next to us sat a Latin-American family who brought their father for a meal to celebrate his birthday, which speaks to this chain's authenticity. Watch out, their speciality margaritas can equal in price the meal you ordered!

If you know Guapo's in Rio, you know this one in Bethesda. Guapo's is family friendly and perfect for your after-work. Food is excellent value for money and be prepared to ask for a box. The Bethesda version is not as cozy as the one up in Gaithersburg and the staff is not as attentive. Still a good choice if you are in Bethesda

We had the tortilla soup, the Seafood chimichanga, and the nachos with chicken (I loved how they make them so they stay neat and crunchy, not a big mess where the chips get soggy). We will definitely go again! ... Went again for a second visit a week later. This time we had the guacamole, the Carne Asada, Guapo's superior, and once again the nachos with chicken (because I loved them so much). And once again everything was so delicious and service was awesome

I got a seafood chimichanga and it was one of the best meals I have eaten. Unlike a lot of places it was lightly fried so it wasn't so heavy. My girlfriend got the tacos and also loved them. We were greeted by friendly, fast, efficient, service at Guapo’s Mexican Restaurant. I am glad we had reservations, as the dining room quickly around 6 pm and there was quite a line to get in at 7. Food was very good, as were the margaritas on the rocks. Parking is available at a number of 2 hour limit pay lots near by.

I usually come here for the drinks. The large margaritas are the best. The homemade guacamole is great too. I found the ceviche to be so-so but let it sit in the lime juice a little longer and it gets better. The larger fajita platters--especially the ones with grilled quail are great when you are hungry. Also, if you just want simple tacos, they do the classics very well.

Catered here for an event. Good food for that! Also giant margaritas. Also very tasty, but they must use a mix with a lot of sugar because oh boy, the next day was no fun. Very easy to work with staff for event planning and last minute changes.

My colleagues and I went here recently. They easily accommodated our large group. The appetizers came out on time looking and tasting delicious. Multiple servers kept an eye on our drinks and refilled them frequently. The staff were really nice. The atmosphere was nice too. There's plenty of artwork to showcase the culture.

We had a, post wedding, Monday morning buffet brunch from 8.30 to 11am and it couldn't have been better. We had the entire restaurant before it opened to the public at 11am. Myra was incredibly accommodating as we planned the brunch. The staff and food were excellent. Highly recommended if you want a brunch that we felt was an excellent value.

We had a retirement luncheon for an office mate. The service was good even with a crowd of almost 20. The server kept it all together with separate checks for everyone and even cut and helped serve the cake that we had brought. Oh, and the food was very good too! We spent almost 100.oo for food not as good as taco bell. 12.95 for chicken fajita nachos and all it was was this. About 15 chips with shredded chicken and cheese and bean dip melted in microwave. The food here is excellent as always if you or you and your family are in the mood for a authentic Tex Mex style cuisine then you can't go wrong here. I am as always pleased with the quality and the flavor of their food as well as their authentic and personable service as I have eaten at Guapo's many many times over the many past years. I do however have an issue with the price they charged for today's lunch I had requested that the manager consider giving me a slight discount for three New York strip steaks for my precious dog and that she was a meatatarian and would not need any of the sides but instead simply just the steaks . They would not even consider a discount at all and my bill before the tip is $145.78 as I ordered the Steak n shrimp dinner for myself with seven extra shrimp and an extra portion of steak and also three strip steaks for my Cali dog and 2 vegetable burritos for my coworker and I had three Tecate beers. If you are in the mood for this type of atmosphere and cuisine and do not mind spending a small fortune then bring yourself but make sure you have an open bank account if you plan on feeding your family and you want it done the way you want. They will serve you food the way you want assuming you can afford it. The hefty price for this lunch is why I only rated three stars otherwise it would have been an easy five-star experience.

I got the chicken fajitas which are to die for, and the strawberry daiquiris are like 90% of why I need to go back to the bar. Not very good. Way over-priced! The kids meals are $9! Seriously?! The rice was hard and the refried beans were watery. I read the reviews and decided to give this place a try. I’m not sure how they have gotten so many good reviews. It has a very “chain” feel. The server was nice, but not super attentive. We won’t be back.
