First time customer. I ordered the Bacon & Shrimp Burger with fries, and it had to be one of the best burgers I have ever had. The burger was cooked well done, but was still juicy and tender like it was cooked to a lower temperature. The fries were very good as well. They have earned another repeat customer today!

EXCELLENT!!!! The burgers and fries are delicious!! The fried pickles are better than any I have ever had and the fresh lemonade will knock your socks off! The banana pudding is good and that barbeque sauce is beyond amazing!! You walk up and place your order so no table service. They have a small bar and serve beer and liquor but really it's a hometown burger joint. NOT DISAPPOINTED!!!

Went there for a burger and ended up getting the fish basket. It was so fresh, 10 minutes into eating it I still had to be careful (temperature). You can tell by just walking into this place that they really care about their customers and products. I'll be back for that burger, soon.

I went into this place for lunch really not expecting much and the bar set high as a self proclaimed 'burger aficionado'. I was surprised, delighted, and more than satisfied. This place is a real hidden treasure-premium customer service experience and the burger I had exceeded every expectation I had. Delicious. What really caught me off guard was the premium quality of food coming out of what I took as a 'mom and pop' sort of location. Well done.

Best burger I’ve had in a while! I found this place after moving to the area just recently. I read the reviews and figured I’d check it out myself, and I’m so glad I did. The burgers are cooked well done as they say on their website, but they’re still full of flavor and juicy (not dry at all). They’re sweet potato fries are delicious and you can tell they’re home made (shareable size at that, too!). The staff here is so nice and helpful, as well. They made sure to check on us to ensure that we had everything we needed and truly wanted to know our feedback. Highly recommend.

I found this little gem last minute & they sure did not disappoint! If you're looking for a simple juicy burger & fries...you've found it! Everything is made fresh to order! I really liked how simple menu & the prices were very fair! All the employees were so friendly! I definitely recommend the sweet potatoe fries & tater tots as well!

Really great find. I had the shrimp burger with fries and had to refrain from licking my fingers afterwards. I don't normally enjoy a well done burger but somehow Gourmet Burger Bistro has created an exception. They have things other than burgers as well, such as fried fish, grilled hot dogs, wings, and fried rice. I will have to go back and try other things on the menu.

I liked this restaurant. I went with my family when I came down to visit. The staff is friendly. The menu isn't overly complicated so it's easy to find a meal that you want. The food came out pretty fast and it was good. More than likely gonna come back next time I'm in town.

Unfortunately I can't give a good and accurate review of this establishment as we were asked to leave since my wife and I both have service dogs. The first employee we talked to said the state health inspector told them no service animals were allowed due to the open kitchen. The kitchen is completely separate from the dining area. We remained in line to order our food and a second employee came over to us and said basically the same thing. I informed him of both the federal and state laws on service animals and asked him to call the authorities if he wanted. He then back stepped and said we could stay but we would have to eat in a closed off section as people have complained about service animals in the past, this area was next to the open kitchen and looked less then clean. My wife and I left at this time not feeling good about the quality of the food we would have received. This is the first time we have had a problem with our service dogs, we have dined in all seven cities in the tidewater area, covering the full spectrum of dining from breakfast and sandwich shops, to pizzerias all the way to fine dining establishments with never a complaint. Most of the time we are complemented on how well behaved they were. Which I found odd since all service animals are trained to be unobtrusive and well behaved before being trained to the specific disability they are needed for.

I don't know what everyone saw in the place but for starts I order a burger and fries To-go. It's not busy 3 other people came in minutes after me. They all got their food and I'm still sitting there. I finally get my food my burger was supposed to have lettuce and tomato it didn't they must have forgot it. Fries aren't included so I paid extra for them and they were extremely soggy and the smallest order of fries ive ever gotten. So for almost 15 dollars I got a basic burger and soggy fries no drink. I'm still hungry and I'm only 100 pounds. My patty was dry and crumbly I added pickles they put 2 tiny soggy rounds. I feel straight robbed for my money.

Went by the Norfolk location in the Military Circle Mall with the nephew. Had the P towner burger. (burger with fried egg. bacon, American cheese, lettuce and tomato). Literally the best burger I've had. French fries are excellent too. Best lemonade as well. Highly recommended!

This customer service is literally chic fil a on steroids and even better because they’re open on Sundays. I’ve been to the Burger Bistro 3 times within the past week alone and each time I’ve received better customer service from the last. My first time coming, the customer service was fantastic, I’m just saying that it never waivers; it always stays consistent. I love how the entire staff is devoted to ensuring every customer has a good experience and not just the owner which means that he truly has a good team behind him that wants to see the business thrive as much as he does. Black owned businesses usually get a lot of flack because of their lack of good customer service, but I am so thrilled to say that someone is out here trying to put that stigma to rest. This place has some generous sized burgers that pack a punch! Order your food at the counter up front and they bring it to you. I do have to say it took about 30 minutes to get our food but it was delicious. I am sure our wait time was because this place was packed. I would definitely recommend it.

Gourmet Burger is always excellent! My family consist of many different food lifestyles ( vegetarian, pescetarian, a non beef eater, and a beef lover). Gourmet Burger has something for all of us! My whole family loves the restaurant and the many menu options. This is one of the few places we can all eat at together and have us all feel satisfied with the selection. All of the meals we have tried have been great! My personal favourites are the Veggie Melt and the Empire Burger (when I was still a meat eater). Additionally, the staff is always friendly and accommodating. P.S. My daughter says the Sticky Wings are the best wings she has ever eaten.

I was in the mood for a good burger tonight, and remembered reading about a burger place nearby that we hadn't been to yet. After very little effort, I convinced my family that we needed to try this new place. As we drove up, it was very obvious the owner loves this place. The outside had great signage with eye-catching colors and graphics. There is an inviting covered patio with dining tables, as well as more seating inside. We went inside and were greeted by the incredibly friendly people of Gourmet Burger Bistro, as well as the Burger King himself, the man responsible for the miraculous burgers! We stepped up and ordered, each of us getting something different. We tried The Classic (with corn fritters), The P-Towner (with fries) and the Burger Melt (with onion rings.) We sat inside at a table close to the kitchen and waited with anticipation for our burgers to be brought out. I am happy to say, we hardly waited any time at all, before our food appeared. I took one bite and was stunned by the flavor burst and stream of juices from this delicious burger! It didn’t even need condiments! I have not had a burger that juicy since the days of the original Wendy's burgers, which were advertised as you had to eat them with a stack of napkins to mop up the juices. Each of us devoured every single bite. We also sampled one of the wings that are featured on Wing Wednesday ($1.00 a wing) and have already planned to go there for brunch on Sunday. The owner plans to have a location in each of the 7 cities. With the pending opening of the new location in Norfolk, I have no doubt he will do it. Truly the BEST burger you have ever eaten!

Awesomeness! We ordered the Empire Burger with onion rings, the P-town Burger with corn fritters the Burger Melt with fries, and a kids meal. No food was left behind, very fresh ingredients prepared wonderfully. The the only thing better than the food was the customer service. I was informed while dining that brunch is also served (check their website for times because I don't remember exact times) on the weekend.

I've frequented Gourmet Burger Bistro twice. Both times was on Sunday which is their all you can eat brunch only. Loved the atmosphere and they have the best French Toast I've ever had. My family and I dont eat pork but upon request we were able to order Turkey bacon and sausage (very good). They offer this simply prepared rice consisting of bell peppers, onions and seasoning which was absolutely delicious. Their menu items are varied and everything I ordered was delicious! I had only 1 wish and that was for milk which they don't offer. I love milk with anything sweet. (Its probably not cost effective if it's an unpopular request, in that milk carries an expiration date). I In conclusion, Burger Bistro ambience (music) is cheerful and inviting, good freshly prepared food, and prompt friendly service. It's a great oughting for a family meal! Update: Had a visit during the week for lunch, ordered lemon pepper wings. It was a bit disappointing because the wings had chicken feathers on them. I had to remove the skin where the feathers were in order to comfortably eat my wings, They were also overly salted. I will visit again...next time I'll try another menu item. I'm pleased that this establishment is here and want to give every opportunity for success and longevity.
