Awesome, awesome, awesome! Great service 2 days in a row, best food I've had out in a while, large restaurant. The menu offers a wide range of food for any taste from southern, Chinese to all American! I would drive 3 hours to eat there and come back home.

Joanna Cross

Wait staff were friendly and the food was delicious....when you could find it! A number of the trays were often empty, especially the French toast, and the table side service very rarely made it to your table, if at all. Overall, a good experience, but would be even better if the food could keep up with the demand.

George L Clarke

I would give this 5 stars except it's always busy and the wait is long. Food is excellent and I've had greater wait staff each time I've been there.

Frank Boyd

First time I've eaten here. Came for a retirement luncheon and had a great time. Ordered the "Yankee Pot Roast" and will definitely order again in the future.

I can't think of a single thing that wasn't delectable. The decor, staff and ambiance was lovely and the food, heavenly. Wish I could have eaten more but that's always the problem with buffets for me, I get full after one course. This is a must do and highly recommend making a reservation.

A very belated review, but I organized a group dining event here at Farmers & Distillers. I must say the planning process was a huge mess initially because partway through, the event manager left the restaurant so I was left in limbo and no one to answer my calls/emails. It was frustrating... but finally, after endless calls and a new replacement of said event manager, everything was smooth sailing. The new event manager made everything right despite the whole fiasco, which included the accidental double booking the private dining space... so she let me have a semi-private dining area and a nice discount on the rental fee. So that's fair... In terms of food, it is good, but not amazing. I prefer Founding Farmers, just because I think the Asian fusion touch was a bit odd to me. I thought the group dining menu was supposed to include complimentary coffee/tea but that was not served. Maybe I recalled incorrectly, but oh well. We all loved the donuts though! Service was great and we were checked on frequently. Farmers & Distillers is a cool place, but I'd definitely recommend the original Founding Farmers in terms of food.

Great mangers really sweet. Good fresh food.

Wade Johanns

Great food at very reasonable prices. We got a reservation and were seated right away. The prime rib, burgers, fried chicken, and sides were great. The donuts and ice cream were a perfect dessert. The homemade ice cream flavors were very strong and not too sweet. The waiter was very attentive and helpful. All around a wonderful experience.

Travis B

Food was great. I got the cauluflour steak. Donuts were super oily and not that great to be honest. I'd give this place 4 stars if the bar service was better. But kind what I have come to expect from DC - customer service is not a priority here! Took for ever to get a drink while my particular bartender chatted away with other employees.

Shanika Karath

Craft cocktails are concocted from housemade vodka and amaro, all served in a multistory setting that spotlights the spirit-making operation and botanical installations.

Alii Chun

Me and my son went to this restaurant once and I got to say that I am not disappointed. Great service, delicious food and reasonable price for the quality and size of a meal.

Ludovic MASSON

$32 for a buffet, it worth it ! seating at the bar is much easier than getting a table. Food is really good, well cooked and prepared. Service is good. I recommend it

Patrick Surrett

The food is always delicious and the staff I'd always friendly and welcoming. We love dining here here. It's always an enjoyable experience.

Serrita Hill

I used to love brunch here. The food was always amazing, hot and service was on point. I visited this weekend to learn things have changed and I may need to find a new brunch spot. As expected the restaurant was packed. The service was subpar. The menu has changed a bit. I am not to keen on tacos being a brunch selection. The food was more of dinner and a little less brunch. The crab dip & grapefruit brûlée were taken off the brunch bar, as well as the blueberry pancakes. We were able to order pancakes table from the waiter. The chicken was dry. I think due to number of people visiting the restaurant the quality of food has fallen off. Also they know longer validate parking. Hopefully, they will find a good balance again.

Jefferson Breitenbuecher

Very good food, great drinks and cocktails. The staff is nice and friendly, but your orders take a little bit to come. It is understandable though. The place is big and a lot of people are coming in and out. That is how you know it is good. They have beers. However they are not on the menu. You need to ask if they offer it.

Samuel Armstrong

The Atmosphere is really nice. I ate at the bar with a fellow Veteran. The drinks are on the smaller side. However all the drinks were really good. 5 stars to the drink quality. The food was really good. I had the fried green Tomatoes and fried chicken. The bartender was just ok. He was really friendly and talkative when two white males set down at the bar next to us. The only conversation we had with him was to order food and drinks. I found this interesting. But overall it was experience

Kelley Barnes

Nice ambiance! My first time here. I will definitely return.

Euijin Chang

I love morning buffet in this restaurant. We can enjoy various delicious foods and desserts:)

grace boykin

Price seemed a bit steep, I admit. BUT once you see what’s up for grabs at the upscale buffet, it is SO worth it. Plus you can order additional foods

Mohammed Rahman

Good food, quick service, was ideal for my business lunch.

Joanna Cross

Cool place, great for breakfast. The most perfect waffles I've ever had!

Ruth Wallace

Great atmosphere at brunch Loved the brulee grapefruit. Doughnuts are amazing!!

Kenyetta Foggie

I've had the pleasure of dining at several locations during the past few months and for the most part have had a good experience. My experience at this location l was disappointing. The waiter made my guest and I feel rushed. It was her first time dining here. She asked for recommendations. The waiter seemed annoyed and rushed her to make a decision within a very short period of time. He insisted that he just wanted to go ahead and put the order in. The food prepared at this location was not as good as it had been at other locations. I was not hot and a tad bit salty. I am truly disappointed.

Joe Graybill

My wife and I came to DC for our anniversary. First morning here, we came to F&D for breakfast. 10/10 would always recommend. Came back the next day for donuts and house drinks. Will probably come back once more before we leave. Absolutely amazing staff and atmosphere.

Rich Bienkowski

Went for Easter Brunch. A wide variety of food from breakfast and lunch items. The desserts were out of this world! The chocolate ice cream was the best! The service was also outstanding. A must visit when in DC!

Heather Miller

We had a fabulous brunch! The food was awesome! Very interesting buffet options. Doughnuts were amazing. I definitely recommend the chocolate ones. The staff was great. They are so dedicated to making sure your meal was a success that the fabulous managing partner was helping out.

Jmelle Harris

AMAZING! I really enjoyed the decadent flavors and quality service! Their ice coffee with vanilla and almond milk was superb! Salmon was a perfect choice! I'll DEFINITELY be returning!

Matt Rahn

Enjoyed the atmosphere and Great cocktails!

Tim Smith

Book the private dining room down stairs. Amazing and as always, awesome food.

Scott Matus

Not one of my favorite meals. On the plus side, the drinks were great and the portions very generous. They have their own brand of spirits. Other than that, the chicken in both our dishes was over-cooked and dry, and everything was over-salted and over-sauced.

Scott Aronoff

The food was good but the lamb chops were a little done. Service was just okay and they didn't seat us when we had a reservation. All in all it was just average though the chocolate donut sundae was a good way to end the evening. That was yummy.

Gina Marie Clements

Was recommended by a local, food was great but service was terrible, was seated right away but long wait to place and receive order. Not attentive at all and for the price... definitely would expect more. Known for their donuts but glazed was ice cold.. Banana cream my son lost his mind and said it was a religious experience.

Chara The Designer

Busy place. Great food especially their bananas foster donut. That donut is amazing. And they have great servers. Everybody was so nice and welcoming. Oh and clean bathrooms. They also have a family rest room with a changing table. A real changing table bot the flip down wonky ones.

Guy Benjamin

Great food, Good service, Nice ambiance

caroline trussell

They have so many drink options and most of them taste great. They also have lots of home cooking and hearty/comfort food. A bit pricey but since it’s a nice chain, it’s worth it for a special occasion

Yosef Silver

Amazing cocktails and knowledgeable mixologists. The menu is inspired, and the staff are really friendly. Stopped in for cocktails after dinner one night and really pleased with the entire experience!

Chris Kidd

An honest review. I’m late on posting this as I visited this restaurant last month but I think about this place from time to time and I’ve been meaning to review. I live in N.C. and was just visiting DC and stumbled across this restaurant walking around. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is very very good. The donuts are hands down the best I have ever had. The only thing that stopped me from leaving 5 stars was our table felt a little neglected. We waited a long time for drinks. No complaints on food time however because great food doesn’t come fast. I will definitely revisit if I come back to DC

Wing yun Cheung

So much food selection, felt like breakfast and dinner selection rolled into one. I think weekends is buffet style only. From sweet to savory, even sticky ribs, fish and bbq meats. High quality and I usually don't like buffets. Staff friendly, came on a Saturday morning and it was relaxed. Outdoor seating, weather permitting.

Anthony Romero

Amazing food and quick to get it. The service to place the order was not great, I actually never saw my waitress. The floor manager and food runners were the only people I interacted with after flagging them down. Would still go back, food was amazing

Frank Migliarese Jr.

Great and friendly staff. Bartenders/mixologists really listen and can craft genuine drinks to their patrons suggestions and preferences.

Johnathan K

Went for sunday brunch. Food was good, service was good. Make reservations.

Lamin Sambou

Great food and the service was excellent, if you are in the DC area, I recommend you stop there for a bite.

Jason Castellente

This is very similar to the other stores in the same family which include Founding Farmers, and Farmers Fishers Bakers. The food is all very fresh and very well made. There's decent variety on the menu accommodating many different tastes and preferences while still managing to be a cohesive menu and experience. The wait staff is friendly and attentive as well. Highly recommended.

William Fadely

Very friendly service (Kandice was our server) , awesome fresh food, well portioned. Will come back again!

Jennifer Wondracek

Everything was made from scratch, and was fantastic. They even have a distillery in the building and brew vodka, whiskey, amaro, and possibly a few other things? Definitely make a reservation for weekend evenings.

Shahana Keisler

I had the chicken parmesan and side Italian salad. The breading was crispy and the chicken was tender. The salad was very crisp and flavorful. The drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic looked tempting, but there wasn't anything low-cal.

Bella Ibrahim

Really good food. A bit pricey, but a great spot for birthdays and celebratory dinners. Good menu options, and really great service. Dessert was soooo good! Get a cocktail, it's what they are known for. Get there early, not a ton of street parking but there is garage parking nearby.

Shonell Reed

Food is good. Mid day service is terrible. I couldn't understand if it was the server or the bartender being over worked or lack of attendance for both. We were compensated for the time however it wasn't my first time having this experience.

My husband and I went to Farmers and Distillers with my son and daughter in-law, who live in D.C. It's a farm to table restaurant near Chinatown that has a large and unique menu. They are known for locally sourced suppliers for the dishes on their menu. Plus, they make their own liquors and offer an interesting cocktail and beer menu. We had reservations and were told upon arrival that they were running about 15 minutes behind. However, this soon turned into an almost 30 minute wait. When we were finally seated, it took awhile for a server to come to our table. Because they were so harried, we felt it best to order both our drinks and dinner selections at the same time. I should mention that they make their own doughnuts all day long and you can actually watch them doing so. My husband and son ordered southern based dishes that included their fresh doughnuts, while I and my daughter in-law ordered traditional beef dishes. I had high expectations since the beef was locally sourced. When our food arrived, all of us, except for my husband had problems with our orders. My daughter in-law ordered her filet mignon medium and it definitely was served well-done. They replaced it, but it resulted in a lengthy wait for her replacement. My son ordered their chicken fried steak with macaroni and cheese. They forgot the mac 'n' cheese and served him a different side. When he mentioned it, a side of it was brought and, thankfully, there was no charge on our bill. I had high hopes for my prime rib since it was a featured item on menu. I ordered it medium rare and at first glance, it appeared to be rare. However, upon cutting into it, it was closer to well done. I didn't complain, but my high hopes were quickly dashed since the beef was so tough as to be almost unchewable. It almost seemed as if it was heated in a microwave. My husband ordered their fried chicken and had a hard time actually finding any chicken in his first piece. Both my husband's and son's dishes came with their fresh doughnuts, which they loved. We ordered their banana split for dessert and shared it among the four of us. The doughnuts, the drinks, and the dessert were the best part of the meals. The decor is wonderful and I'm actually sorry to give them a lower rating than I would like. However, the meal combined with the service didn't meet the standards for a restaurant of this caliber. It was a very busy night, but this is still not an acceptable excuse.

Micalie Kempfert

Great food - interesting and unique! Loved the drink menu as well. I ordered the sweet potato ravioli, which was delicious. Also tried the salmon which had a really good glaze, and the crab cake which was almost more like a scone.

Angshuman Mojumder

Always a fan of the Farmers chain of restaurants. This place had a chinatown addition by way of a few Asian inspired items. While everything else was great, I wasn't a fan of the way the dumplings were cooked and tasted. It insides were a little rubbery and the outside shell fell apart when picked up. Other than that everything else was on point.

Ziyun Huang

Feels like a great selection of food but in reality it really isn't that great of a selection of buffet - half of the table is just salads and dips. The crab dip and salmon is really amazing,; the French toast with your own choice of topping is my absolute favorite, but apart from that, nothing too special. One star off because we had to wait for forever despite having reservation.

hayden SUPERSTAR wortham

Everything is delicious during the breakfast buffet... service is outstanding... will be back

Heba Bella

Best brunch buffet in town! I'm not usually a buffet person but the food here is all fresh and high quality,, everything tastes good!!.. big variety from eggs to french toast to fried chicken and pizzas, the list goes on! Keep space for fresh donuts as well! and the tea comes in a cute tea pot and a floral cup

Aryn Keen

The best breakfast ham I’ve ever had. I’m disappointed that the only option for weekend breakfast is all-you-can-eat.

Paul Ga

Nice establishment. Rubens Sandwich was disappointing. Was not served on rye and has no sauerkraut. Corned beef was burned and chunky not sliced. Staff was attentive.

Erik Schonsett

Food was amazing but service was super slow

Suraya Cannon

It was my first time there and everything was wonderful. My server was very knowledgeable of all the food. The location was great.

Matthew Graziano

The staff was wonderful and the food was great! The pancakes and maple glazed donuts were amazing. I will be back for more!

Michael Oberhausen

Great atmosphere and good food. The place was very busy which affected the service some and the prices are a bit high. Would still recommend

Babyfarts Mcgeezaks

The food is great. But definitely not worth the $36.24 for the food.

Rahul Srivastava

Brunch buffet was one of the best overall meals my wife and I have ever enjoyed and we get a lot of good home cooking on the regular. Something for carnivores, seafood lovers and vegetarians all outstanding. Really forced the dessert but had no choice it was too gosh darn good. You'll get your money worth on first place, plate and a half. Will be a regular

Robyn D

The undisputed brunch king! Great food options, well laid out and surprisingly spacious. Plus, where else would you find a painting of George Washington with a man bun!

Tyler McCann

Everything from start to finish was amazing! Would highly recommend this if you’re in the downtown area.

Daniel Lowery

Went on a Sunday for a late lunch and have a great experience overall. My guest has an impossible burger which was amazing however my mussels were flavorless. Our server was professional and attentive.

Leonard Blumberg

Awesome food offerings, totally worth the price, and the staff (especially Janaya) were really cool. Only note - the sign for the bathrooms is very well camouflaged on the wall it's sitting on.

Chelsea White

Yummy yummy! We we've been for brunch and breakfast and we love it. The maple syrup is the best I've ever had. The food is fresh and delicious, and the staff is very nice. Service was fast too. Breakfast on a weekday wasn't busy, but I recommend making a reservation for brunch or dinner.

Carole Brown

Saturday brunch at Farmers and Distillers was a treat. The buffet and bakery offers something sweet and savory for every taste. Plus add a never bitter julep or a gold rush drink to round out the experience. Highly recommend making a reservation to avoid a long wait to be seated.

Wing yun Cheung

Elizabeth Lo Presti

I wasn't a huge fan of the farro salad (it isn't bad, but it is a cold dish and has a good amount of red peppers, so just not my preference) and the sweet potato dumplings come in Maple syrup, which surprised me. Also, the menu didn't identify if options were vegan and apparently the cauliflower steak is not.

Megan Threats

Visiting from North Carolina. This restaurant came highly recommended. The food and drinks did not disappoint. Excellent management! Will be back the next time we’re in town for business.

Other than my son it will be the thing I miss the most about DC. The service was nice. It's a busy restaurant so it's hard to get a good grasp on how good or bad the service is. I've never had a bad brunch service I had great tour of distillery . Fantastic tasting in tasting room we did not get our cocktail and we did not get our second appetizer but it was still nice. The food is very well prepared. However the rotisserie chicken tends to be dry as a bone. Bought the chicken and waffles oh my goodness I will dream about that forever. And the enchiladas and steak ,corn on the cob. One of my favorite things I even ate corn in public, it was so good everything on the plate goes perfectly together the parents are great cocktails are wonderful but you could get another dinner for the price of one cocktail. But it's a once in a while bang their white star cocktail is amazing and I don't drink cocktails. Super. I've been to all locations in DC numerous times and was happy even the worst service at founding farmers is still worth the food being super good the sad but true

Sammy K

less than one star....after being pushed through a small revolving door I wasn't greeted I stood in front of the lady at the host stand for 5 minutes at the least she never even acknowledged me. I finally ask her if I can put my name in she rudely responds "are you aware of our 45min. wait"? and I was like that's fine she takes my phone number and says they'll text me when my table was ready ....I waited an hour never got a text. It's now way later in the day I STILL HAVEN'T GOT A TEXT. She never even put my name in I'm assuming.

TheMoEdmond

Not a strong dislike - my husband loved the food!! However, I'm a Celiac and would have enjoyed an establishment with some gluten-free choices. My dinner was just broccolini and chicken. Should have cost me less, since it had no other option.

Matan Kadosh

The food here is beyond exquisite and the drinks are made of the utmost refined quality. The staff is super friendly and it is a highly sought after establishment with an excellent reputation. Hope this helps!

Arthur Townsend

I came for breakfast and had the scrambled eggs , chicken apple sausage and brûléed grapefruit. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and helpful and we we were seated and served very quickly. It was an excellent experience and I will definitely return the next time I am in DC.

David Falby

Nothing was terrible, everything was "meh" at best. Coffee was on bad side of meh. Everything needed salt. Even the pour over coffee needed salt to cut the acid, and which came out 10-15 minutes after it was made. The wife got Brioche French toast, lacking in egg, not custardy at all, bland. I got the roasted pepper and aged provolone omelet with English muffin and Parmesan grits. Again, bland, unimpressive.

Anthony Romero

Amazing food and quick to get it. The service to place the order was not great, I actually never saw my waitress. The floor manager and food runners were the only people I interacted with after flagging them down. Would still go back, food was amazing

Jai Allen

The atmosphere was relaxed and not too busy during lunch that day. We love their fresh baked goods. Nice menu selection. The waitress was a little distant and I ordered a salad to go as well and didn't realize after even asking for the dressing on the side and of course by that time it was all soggy...and not too mention the salad was not cheap. I would definitely give it another try when we come back to DC.

Gianluca Girard

Finally!! Thanks Jeremy from the Apple store of Wisconsin av. Finally, after almost 30 years I come to the USA, in a restaurant they serve water and not chlorine-water. Wow. Same for the ices in our drinks. This note deserves a picture of the bottle of water they gave us. Water, transparent and tasteless, like water should be. Apart that nice (but serious) point, the restaurant is the best of the 3 in DC. The noise is finally contained and you can speak and hear to your guest at the same table. The food is simply delicious and the waiters all smiling. So, nothing less than 5 stars. Not cheap, but the food is of quality.

Christine Madonia

We arrived and were told it would be a half hour wait at least (despite the fact that the space is massive, a third of it was empty, but the hostess seemed frazzled but was nice nonetheless). Somehow the bar had plenty of seats so we sat up there. We are food and drink snobs that work in the distribution and importing industry. We sat down and were immediately served water and drink menus — the bartender was friendly and fast, even though he was swamped with drink orders. He had efficient people around him that all worked in tandem to clean and assist in any way. We got to talking with Lenny, our bartender, and he made us carefully crafted and delicious drinks— based on his recommendation had some version of an old fashioned with absinthe, and my boyfriend had a penicillin. Lenny could tell we were snobs and while he worked his butt off, he took the time to explain the restaurant and distillery, and gave us tastes of gin, whiskey, rye, pisqo, etc. We had about 10 glasses EACH just of tasters. This was just top notch service from Lenny, who like I said, was insanely busy working with his (also awesome) colleague to serve brunch drinks to the entire restaurant. Speaking of which, the buffet was phenomenal, boasting a taco bar, thick candied pork belly, and a separate coffee and dessert section. We would have had a pretty solid experience at a normal table based on the food alone, but Lenny really made this brunch one for the books!!!! Thank you !

Charley Pants

This place definitely seems like a fun and interesting place. Unfortunately, our service was sub-par and I was pretty disappointed with the lack of options for all dietary needs. It was very difficult for me to order and I had limited options (gluten-free vegetarian). Bumped it up to one star because my partner said he "liked" the fried chicken and donut meal he got. I do not recommend this place to vegans or people who are gluten free. Straight vegetarians have a bit more options.

Geoffrey Weber

Great server. Food really good but smaller portions

Adam Obenauer

Came here with the expectation that this would be overrated and overpriced Americanized versions of commonly replicated high end dishes. I was incorrect. The menu is wildly diverse with unexpected and fantastic twists on every dish. The ingredients taste fresh and the resulting menu items are well worth the price. The staff was well versed in the menu and answered all of our questions without issue. It can get crowded despite the large dining room due to its central location, so try to avoid the dinner rush for the best experience.

Douglas & Audrey Logar

Had the meatballs and grits...it was tremendous and so was the cocktail, appetizers, donut and ice cream.

Jai Allen

Great service, good music, and delicious food! Love the theme "made by scratch". They make pretty much everything by scratch, even having their own bakery. Very authentic and a must if you're in the area, even if it's just to get some donuts.

Jeri Davis

The cashew fried rice is the way to go! Be warned, portion sizes are huge. We should have split one plate. Sweet potato spring rolls and meat combo dumplings are also excellent! The pulled noodles were good, but the meat was sparse and the flavor was a little bland.

Ashley Ruffead

The food was pretty good and the service was great. I'm a big fan of the Farmers group of restaurants so even though I didn't love the dish I chose I'm definitely going back. The doughnuts smell amazing; I only wish I liked doughnuts!

rachel brown

Brunch was good, ran out of grits and never replinished but the fresh ice cream made all my bad feelings go away. Love home.ade ice cream.

Alonzo Richardson

The brunch buffet was, as my daughter put it, "fancy"! The staff was impressively professional, friendly & courteous. The food, especially the salmon, was delicious. The ambiance was pleasant & it's not too pricey. Can't wait to go again.

Jim Chapman

Amazing service! The food was out of this world. Highly recommended!!!!!!

Michael Benissan

There was a mouthwatering variety of meals available for buffet brunch during our visit. From meats to pastas to vegetables to dips to desserts and many others. Additionally, our server ordered fried shrimps, pancakes and eggs benedict for us, and mentioned that they were all included with brunch. Four of us had intended to share a brunch bowl cocktail, but realized we needed one more when it arrived at the table. Overall, each of us had positive feedback about a couple of delicious items we had put on our plates.

Maria Pinero

We had Sunday morning brunch here and it was sensational. You would have thought that the queen was in town the way they rolled out the red carpet for us. They had 5 long self serve tables with so much food. They started off with breakfast stuff such as French toast and pancakes. By the 5th table ribs and brisket were available. I was so drawn into the food that I forgot to take pictures. Lol. I apologize. The green tea was tasty though.

Very smart and attentive manager. You have the right team members. A good and level headed leader

Hillary Sadoff

Standard farmers chain. Huge varied menu. Nothing stellar. Decent size portions for the price. Nothing wowed.

Jeremy Meshew

I could eat just the bread and be happy, but the entree was a GD masterpeice.

Mike

Wow, what a fantastic restaurant! I can't recommend it enough. Was in town for work with colleagues and decided to give this place a try after checking out the menu online. It's a busy place but very inviting and comfortable. The service was excellent from start to finish. Our server Acadia was particularly fantastic. We enjoyed drinks, starters, entrees, and dessert and literally everything was delicious. Even my colleague said her ice tea was the best she'd ever had. Everything is homemade...everything. To give you a sense for how much we enjoyed it...we made reservations for the following night before we walked out the door. Do yourself a favor and go.

Robert Bell

Farm to table is one thing. Good farm to table isn't so easy. Server was pleasant and helpful, food was mediocre. Where we're all the flavors? And, when suggesting a gin, recommend the house gin. Why suggest Tanqueray? I can get that anywhere.

Matthew Gibb

Was really excited to try the impossible burger, but man it was salty from here. I wasn't able to finish the meal between that and the fries. Thought it might just be mine, but a colleague had the same experience with their burger.

Wil Boucher

Great service. We were here for breakfast. Kid friendly and the pancakes were awesome.

Terrance Wakefield

Loved the ambiance. The food was good. Enjoyed the whiskey tasting experience. Going back for the distillery tour.

Whitney Sarver

Busy for lunch, but very efficient! The food was delicious and the service very attentive. I'll definitely return.

Came here from a google search of best places to eat in DC area. Highly recommend making a reservation here because even on a Tuesday night, it was busy. This place may seem a little crazy from the food pictures because they have an eclectic menu that includes asian, Italian and American cuisine. The waiter was very helpful in the beginning, but it was hard to understand him because it was so loud. Ordered some signature cocktails, one being the clementine cooler and how Jefferson would have liked it. For appetizers we ordered dumplings and riblets, which were tasty and delicious. The entree’s were equally delicious and good. After dinner, service kind fell short as we were ready to order desserts, however we waited over 15 minutes for the waiter to return. Ordered a plain glazed donut to go which was great and fresh. Would have liked to try their coffee bar and other desserts, but we all wanted to get ready to go. It’s understandable how other reviews stated the service is not the best. However, the food and drinks are well worth the visit.

Yee Wong

Great bread, donuts, and wide selection of food. Nice green drinks and cocktails. But the service was terribly slow even though it wasn’t a full restaurant.

Steve Tourison

We ordered some appetizers and the scallops. Scallops we're cooked perfectly. Dumplings we're more like raviolis. Wings and riblets were pretty tasty. Price for the whole meal with beer and wine was $88. Affordable IMO for a downtown DC restaurant.

Nathan Elfrink

Buffet was like that of golden coral but with less options. The food was very average high calorie drenched in fat and sugar. The atmosphere was pleasant. Service slow to average. I guess they are known for their sit down meals instead of buffet. Will never find out.

Vivian Groccia

Love Farmers & Distillers doughnuts and came all the way here to pick some up and was told no! They changed their policy and I can’t buy doughnuts to go. So I pointed to the Grab and Go sign and asked then what is for grab and go? She said I think you could get coffee but nothing else. So then I pulled up the website and showed her what is posted “Freshest Breakfast To Go in Washington, D.C. On the go and need a cup of joe, some breakfast burritos, or breakfast treats for a meeting? Our Farmers & Distillers in Washington, D.C. has you covered.” She said sorry but no you can’t get anything to go! I asked for manager and was told no manager was available to see me and even if there were they would just tell me the same thing. Ugh.

eric braun

Drinks were great and so was the service but the food was kind of bland. The steaks had zero flavors. The baked potato was better than the prime rib I ordered.

Samir Shah

Their fresh made Chocolate Sinful Devil’s Food cake with Vanilla Ice Cream is to die for...!! Just the right amount of subtle sweetness with an intensely authentic chocolate flavor. One of the best chocolate cakes I’ve ever had. The only other one that comes close is Blackout Cake @Cheesecake Factory.

Sara Cable

Very nice restaurant. It was clean and staff was friendly. The donuts were amazing and I really enjoyed the sweet potato dumplings. I also got the drunken noodles which was definitely a medium spicy. I could handle it but it was on the verge of being too spicy for me. FYI, the menu did say spicy but a lot of restaurants claim something is spicy when it's not even close, but this was what they said it would be. The bread pudding was good, but there is some lacking in thought about the side of cream to drizzle on it. I nearly burnt my fingers because the cup it's in was metal and therefore was very hot. I wish the bread pudding had a little more flavor though. Also, expect a long wait time. We were waiting for at least 45 minutes, which was ok. However we came in near the end of brunch and it looks like they were seating those who wanted brunch first. I can understand, but when we have to continue to wait just because we want to eat from the regular menu, it became a little irritating. BUT the food was worth the trip and I will definitely be coming back for more donuts!!!

Lois Eannel

Wonderfully unique restaurant with very eclectic menu and donuts to die for. How could anything be wrong with an eatery that has kettle corn as an apoetizer?! It also has its own distillery with some fabulous cocktails. A little pricey but it is Washington DC, after all!

Must try the BUFFET! Caution, there are a lot of choices, and they frequently have little goodies delivered as table sides. Afterwards, check out the sprits for either Vodka or Rye Whiskey cocktails. This group always delivers an interesting dining experience that combines quality, presentation, and value into one great time. The service staff are fast and friendly. Waffles are to die for, and are a must try. If nothing else have one for dessert.

Donnamyte 3

Food was good but not a wide variety of breakfast food for the Sunday brunch. No bacon, omelet or waffle station.

Chester Williams

Great fare. I only got iced espresso and a double scoop of strawberry / salted caramel (short on time), but it was fan-tastic!

Kimberly Martin

Must've gone on a bad day. The food is usually great but not on this visit. This time, the food was only ok since the Neal's were delivered cold. It was a very hot day and the AC was cranked. I can only guess our food was left on a counter under an AC vent waiting to get to our table. The service was very poor- waited for water (no, she didn't give us a pitcher like other tables had), waited 20 minutes for check but worse still, our donuts were ice cold when delivered. Aren't they made to order?? Like I said, must've been an off day. But these prices are too high for me to afford an off day!

Christopher Parris

Great Sunday brunch and first rate staff. I was a little disappointed with the brisket, but it's tough to beat genuine Texas brisket once you've had it.

Dana Thompson

Please try the impossible Burger you will love it

Jocelynn Hubbard

Love this restaurant! The food and drinks are delicious. The brunch buffet has a great variety of sweet and savory foods. Make a reservation. The restaurant is usually packed on the weekend.

Garrett Hill

Chic place for farm to table eats. The fried chicken was recommended and the best plate we got. The cocktails we're top notch.

VladCast

The chicken wings were great, though quite small. Our server was hit and miss. But I would attribute most of those issues to the fact that English was probably his second language and the restaurant being a bit loud.

Foye Pierce

I'm from Michigan and this was my first experience in the area, more importantly my first true brunch experience in the way Farmers & Distilleries presents brunch and the options. What a fabulous experience, it has given me desire to have this kind of experience back home. The food was fantastic, the wait staff was just as wonderful. I recommend making reservations, and bring a stomach ready to be filled.

Matthew Bonaminio

Terrible service, just awful. My wife and I are from NYC and were so very much looking forward to eating here because we loved dining at Founding Farmers the last time we were in DC and we had a drink at the bar here also. Long story short, we couldn’t wait to leave. Our dinner orders actually showed up before our cocktails arrived. How in the world does that happen? We literally waited a half hour for our drinks. Asked our server several times where they were. She didn’t know but would check. We’d see her walking around, but no word to us. Soon after, we were approached by someone else that asked what my drink order was. The order was allegedly messed up at the bar. More likely that our waitress forgot to put them in, then forgot what we ordered. We asked to see a manager, which took long also. A manager from the bar finally showed with drinks and apologized for the mix-up and told us the drinks would be comped. There we were with our dinners on the table and our drinks arriving. We told her how disappointed we were and just how poor the service was. As I said, we couldn’t wait to leave. I barely touched my drink and quickly finished the pot pie I ordered. It was decent, but not worth the price tag. My wife ate 3/4 of her meal, but wasn’t really satisfied. We had planned on having dessert, but we passed. This place doesn’t deserve any more of our money. I left half-full and bitterly disappointed. Maybe people in DC put up with garbage service, but, as a New Yorker, I do not.

Kris Benjamin Randolph

In full disclosure -we come here so regularly for brunch and the odd Friday breakfast-at one point-the staff knew who we were. Out of 100 visits 99x the service was exceptional, the food amazing and the options diverse enough to be worth the brunch price. I did have one time the service was not at its best. And will right that off. I eat at enough restaurants to know there are shifts managers gives the b-team newbies. The next time I came -the same waiter was very attentive and nice.

Parvin Zaki

Excellent and prestige place for having a food there or sitting with guests. But bear in mind that kitchen works a little longer might be because of high quality fresh cooking there

Lynna Durain

Awful. Seated a few minutes early, but after 15 minutes flagged a bus boy to find out who our waitress was for waters and drink orders. 10 minutes later she comes and introduces herself, Tanya, not very pleasant. Tries to leave before we get drink orders. Fast forward 25 more minutes she is passing by and we stop her to order entrees. She wasn't even going to stop. The minutes tick by without a single update from her or offer of drink refills. 45 minutes later we received our food. Mine was cold, I never could catch her for a warm up. Thankfully everyone else enjoyed their burgers decently well when they came. Apps were unimpressive . 30 minutes later we flagged her down again for dessert menus. We got one for a group of 5. 20 minutes later we've given up and flag her down for a check. In summary literally the least attentive service I've ever had, and the food isn't that good, people.

Keiosha Hunt

I love this place AND all of their sister restaurants. Definitely make a reservation if you plan to dine on a weeknight or weekend. The food is amazing and generally so is the service. We had a little mishap with our service the last time but the manager was more than accommodating and gracious ensuring we left happy and full. The food and drinks are AMAZING! This is a must do in dc.

Kathryn Sheehan

The food we had was good but took way too much time. We waited more than 30 minutes for our entrees in the middle of a Monday afternoon. There were only a handful of other tables. Normally I don't mind a leisurely lunch, but I never expected 2 hrs to not be enough time. We had to inhale our food and rush to the airport. The manager did buy our cocktails since we had to wait so long for our food. I was not overly impressed with the overall service

Jasmine Coleman

Great place to eat. I started with the orange soda made from scratch. It was different but good. I’m had the spicy Korean fried chicken with broccolini and fried rice. It was great. The chicken was crispy and seasoned well. Everyone enjoyed their food. I will definitely come back.

Sue Grolton

1st time for me. I had the butternut squash soup and it was delicious. Also the Italian garden salad with scallops. I am not sure what the spicy thing in it was I tasted. Can't handle spicy. Maybe dressing or just the radishes? Scallops were delicious! Bread was also amazing. Friends all loved what they got too. And we got donuts to go. I'd go back.

Mairin Chagnon

Great food, drink and atmosphere. The service tonight was slow in the beginning. We had made a reservation and still had to wait about 15 minutes for a table, and then once seated we waited almost 10 before our waitress came over to greet us. Our app took over 25 minutes because of a kitchen error, and the management took it off our bill with no prompting for us, which was really appreciated. Service was slow, but very friendly, and clearly they want people to leave with a good impression. All in all, we enjoyed our dinner here, despite the flaws. There are a lot of options for food, and everything we ate was delicious.

Madden Brady

Trendy upscale restaurant located in Washington DC. Awesome food and great company. They feature a wide variety of food, and pride themselves on the farm to table quality with each respective plate. Amazing food. I would totally recommend the "Chicken fried Steak and Glazed doughnut", was one of the best southern meals I've ever had!!!

Cody Damon

Delicious fare in this welcoming and open venue. It's my go-to breakfast place when I'm in DC. Rum glazed donuts, parmesan grits and a good cup of coffee.

Steve Savo

Great food, service started out good by left a lot to be desired towards the end of our meal. Would go back, just make sure you make a reservation because they get packed. We went on a Tuesday evening and it was like a weekend.

Francis Astor

Price is reasonable for the amount you get. Awesome tasting food.

Noma Khofi

Oh my goodness the food was amazing which I would totally give 5 stars. However, the service was not up to par. We sat at the table for a mighty long time with no service, the food was late, had to request for silverware, napkins, salt and pepper etc. I could consider going back for the food, maybe order take out instead

Sandra Mertens Lo Galbo

This place is so cute! Went for breakfast and had the goat cheese beet hash with ciabatta, which was delicious! Coffee was good. Service was good, bathrooms were nice. I will definitely go back to try other things!

Kathryn Sheehan

Sofia L.

Absolutely delicious breakfast! Had Benedict eggs with crab cake and house salad, loved it very much! All ingredients are fresh and tasted really good. Nice atmosphere, great service, definitely recommend this place for breakfast!

Tracy

We were here on a Friday afternoon. We were able to get seated right away. The service was good and the food was very good.

Penny Lester

We ate at the bar, but still received excellent service. The mixologist was skilled at preparing drinks while taking food orders. We decided to try the impossible burger. This burger is 100% veggies, with the texture and taste of a beef burger. Delicious!

K Kel

Yummy food and drinks. You will not go home hungry....

Elizabeth Handy

Great food and service. Extensive menu!

Magali Kunsevi

Delicious. The bartender that took care of us was also super dope. The line may be long though (but that's because its good, so everyone wants to go eat there). Recommended for brunch!!!

Tony Preston

Solid meals and good cocktails. I brought the family here for a meal while we're on vacation. We all enjoyed the food, I had the beer can chicken. It was tender but there was a lot of bone and just a little chicken. The vegetables were fresh and delicious. My family enjoyed their meals also. My daughter, the cocktail expert, really enjoyed couple of their drinks. I had an old fashioned, which is my acid test, and it was solid, well-made drink. The place was very crowded with a whole lot of tables pushed together and it felt like I was just eating right on top of other people. I go back here with friends who are interested, but this is not on my short list of great places to revisit.

Katrina Mathis

First time here. I ordered Cedar Plank Salmon. It was delicious! The atmosphere was great. Lots of conversations but we only heard what we were talking about. Service was awesome! It did take a while for our food to come to the table.

Amy Schrauf

This cheesecake was SO GOOD. As was everything else I ordered and the drinks. Love this chain

Drew Fernandez

Great food but really busy on a Saturday night. Dinner reservation for 6:30 and we left at 8:45 which is fine. The food was great but it was a long wait for everything. Service was good too

Deon van der Merwe

Excellent fried chicken / mac & cheese! Very friendly service, cool vibe

FERRGHINI

First off I would like to say that I have been to founding farmers and have had good experiences but farmers and distillers left me disappointed. The ambience is nice and down to earth but the food and service was where I was left disappointed. When the food came, my friend and I am requested something on two occasions that was not provided. I gave eye contact to the server, he glanced away to serve another customer ( I don’t if this a problem with the server or management not having enough staff). We were almost done eating when these were brought out and secondly the chicken was dry for 2 others at our table and one of pieces of chicken was all breading.

Janice Temple

The food is very high quality. The best ingredients for the Lump

Kenneth Bell

This is always a good option. The food is never disappointing and the service is excellent. There is no parking and it can get crowded, so absolutely make a reservation and take Uber.

Richard Smiles

This place was AMAZING! Very comfortable, great atmosphere ( music and ambiance). Great customer service and intriguing food options. The curry chicken with house made noodles, cashew fried rice with chicken and beef, and the warm corn bread were exceptional! The resonable pricing made it even better.

Zoe Pine

My family and I managed to go for Restaurant Week and managed to get three courses for 35$. The housemade special cocktail with their own vodka was spectacular with the spicy szechuan lamb dumplings. Then had their steak frites! I was very cautious when it was three small steaks, but they were evenly cooked and the bearnaise was phenomenal. I ended with the cinnamon coffee cake donut and vanilla ice cream. A must stop for New American!!!

Sean A

We've come to farmers and distillers for their weekday breakfast each year we visit DC. The food is scrumptious and I haven't had something I've disliked this far. Their cocktails are inventive and delicious, marrying tastes together effortlessly. The donuts are top notch as well. Certain things on the menu can get pricey, but my only true complaint is that the service between each visit has been drastically different. One year the service was awful while this year it was amazing. Beyond that inconsistency, this is definitely an establishment to check out while in the area!

Eric Thomas

Nice crowd. Good food. Drinks top notch

Rebecca McGraw

Food was pretty good ( with the exception of ordering the same meal as someone at our table, and green beans being completely over cooked). I visited a couple weeks ago for my birthday. Service was very poor. When being seated (plenty of open tables) we asked to be placed in a booth, rather than in the middle of the restaurant where no one was sitting. That request was met with attitude. Upon being seated we ordered a few items at recommendation of our server (specific dietary needs at our table)...the information we were given on said items was completely wrong. Had this been a severe allergy, this could have taken a bad turn. We ordered a shareable drink that was not even filled halfway for $35, we were expecting something completely different, seeing as how it's flu season, we did not want to share a glass. Our server was very rude when questioned, she informed us ''we better be glad she liked us'. I was very excited to try this place, and was very dissatisfied with the experience.

James Hudgins

Simply amazing, please visit this restaurant. Everything was fantastic. Great service, tasty drinks, and the personal touch of each entree, make the price point completely reasonable. I can't wait to go back

The hostess referred to me as "balding guy", and then the manager came to my table to announce an apology to everyone in the world, evidently she wanted to clarify that I'm not completely bald, I'm merely balding. It was completely humiliating. Terrible experience

Visited on Sunday evening for a special occasion. Despite making a reservation, we had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated. Table was not clean and trash under the table. Server came by about 10 minutes later and said they were short-staffed and out of many menu items. When food finally arrived, several dishes had way too much salt. Server was very nice but overall service and food were awful.

Tom Hufford

Very friendly and attentive staff, fantastic food, variety and great propriety drinks. Highly recommended to experience it once.

Rehema Trimiew

We had the Mother’s Day brunch buffet. It was great, from dessert like donuts to mega-sized French toast to additional items that they bring to your table. The server was patient and attentive and we had a great time. I never could get the French toast though, when I went back they were still out and sitting in the booths with 5 people, it’s hard for the middle person to keep getting up. The pancakes that they make to order are fairly small although tasty and the cucumber cocktail that I ordered tasted like a too sweet lemonade.

Francis Bartkowiak

I've only been once, but I've gotta say, it was incredible. The food was incredible. I had the fried chicken with a glazed donut and it was an even sweeter version of chicken and waffles. Needless to say, it was awesome. Everyone else said their food was also delicious. The waitress was incredible. She was funny, polite, and perfect. The place was very clean, the art was intriguing, and there were so many options on the menu. I definitely plan on going back in the future.

rebecca weaver

The food was ok. Some dishes at the table were better than others. While the cocktails were good, they took literally forever to get to the table, like at least 20 minutes. Additionally, even though my group had a reservation, we had to wait an additional 30 minutes to be seated.

Michael Freark

Review for Saturday brunch. Good value for the amount of food you get. Waiters attentive, coffee drinks really good. Food just okay, but good enough for the price. I would go again if in the area but would not go out of my way to come here.

Tiffany Califf

The food is amazing. Everything was so fresh. The donuts are to die for. The servers give great information about the restaurant and distillery.

Martin KO

I came herefor a business lunch with high hopes following the stellar reviews on Google. Sadly, reality underwhelmed me considerably in terms of the quality of food. The ambience and service of this place is unique. They offer a lot of interesting fusion foods - a.mixture of Chinese cuisine, due to their proximity to Chinatown, as well as a good selection of beverages. Sadly, everything we ordered let us down - it was a clear case of quantity over quality. My fried chicken salad had a miserable credit card size piece of chicken that was overcooked to the point of being a solid, rubbery mess. Noodle dishes, that they pride to be their hand-cut homemade style, were also overcooked and were not at all enjoyable. The portions were really huge, but we barely got through anything due to the lack of flavour and terrible execution. For the exorbitant prices, I am very surprised there is no quality control whatsoever. I will not be recommending this place to other visitors to DC.
