Looks great from the outside but the food and service were pretty far afield of great. Multiple people at my table got cold food (not that it just cooled off but that it wasn't hot to begin with) and the stuff that wasn't cold was only so-so as far as Mexican food goes - the salsa was pretty good though. We had to ask for things like silverware for the whole table, napkins, and water.

Service wasnt too good. The waitress took a lot of time between visits. The food was mediocre and overpriced. Didn't have a lot of flavor. Parts of the dish didn't take house made. This was my first time and not sure if I will visit again

First off. The man that took out order didn't seem to understand what we wanted. Ordered one taco to go. street style. It was supposed to come with cilantro onions and lime. Nothing was with it. The steak was bland. It took a very long time for the food to be done. The sauce was bland as well. I usually go to el cap. Wanted to try them. But I wont be going back to el patron.

We went to this restaurant because it was (past tense) one our favorite restaurants. However we have had a bad experience the past couple of times. The waitresses sit around in the dining area and ignore us for twenty to thirty five minutes at a time. When they do walk by, they walk briskly and don’t actually stop at the table, ignoring us when we say “excuse me.” We has to ask 3 times for a high chair, and several times for water. Tonight we even saw them pointing at us and laughing. When they come with food, drinks, or the check, they just drop it hard on the table and turn away before we can order food or water or give them the payment, again ignoring us when we say “excuse me ma’am.” Then they go back to their empty table or the register and whisper in one another’s ear, pointing and laughing. I guess gossiping and making fun of customers is more important than making a sale. We ordered less than usual because we were ignored and laughed at. We aren’t going back to Patron again, even though their food is our favorite, genuinely tastes authentic. We used to go every week. The first time we thought, it’s just one instance of poor service, perhaps just one bad waitress. The second time, we let it go. But you’ve lost our business now—three strikes, you’re out.

Lovely atmosphere, as most mexican places are the food is relatively inexpensive, hefty positions and always quick to the table. What sets El Patron apart is the menu's quality in primo selections. The fajitas are amazing.The seafood, especially the shrimp, is phenomenal. The margaritas are well made, wish they had more flavors though. The bar area is cozy and relaxing. Definitely a good lunch or happy hour spot.

One star is being generous. I don't know when I've had a worse time at a Mexican restaurant. I'd say that our waitress was new, but I think she was just clueless. Service is a big part of a restaurant experience, and this certainly was lacking. The food (had it been hot) was mediocre at best. There are plenty of Mexican restaurants in Chesterfield. Don't bother with this one.

went there with my daughter and 2 granddaughters. Servers whispered and spoke broken english, screwed up 3 of 4 orders, and all looked lost as they tried to fix the situation......when they finally came to the table to ask how things were. maybe saw our server every 10-11 minutes, and they were not busy that hour. one of our plates went to another table (I've seen this comment 30 times here). Took 12+ minutes to get drink refills.

As a stickler for authentic Mexican food this was pretty good for American type Mexican food. Only real complaint was how loud everyone else was. Place could do with some sound dampening on the walls/ceilings. Overall very good!

The food was not great. I'm ok with not being blown away by the food, however the service was horrible. The waitress that "served" us was not interested at all in doing her actual job. Once she brought one of the two items order (sent the cheese dip back due to hair in it), we did not see her for a long while to check back in on us. I looked up to see her seated...yes SEATED comfortably with the baseball team that came in. Clearly she knew them personally and that is perfectly fine, but don't forget about the other guests! Some time went on and the baseball team's party got larger and my table remained unchecked as her focus was on this one table. She only came back after I had to get her attention form across the room to bring the check. No need to go back.

Terrific food, great prices, pleasant, neighborhood atmosphere. Been here for lunch numerous times. Service has always been fast, helpful. Very good combination of spicy and not spicy menu items. The chips and salsas are really good, with plenty of cilantro flavor. Can't decide which is my favorite entree, but - the burritos, especially the steak, are really good.

Just moved back to the area and have been making this a weekly spot to hit up with some old friends. I love the beef they put in their tacos and burritos. Oh and their chips and salsa....oh man are they good. I have to be careful not to fill up on those before my food comes out! Always wash it down with a Mexican beer (preferably Modelo)

Party of 6, not one of us enjoyed our food. We had taco salads (strange looking/tasting ground beef, also watery) Burnt fajitas, sketchy burrito and hard chicken nuggets (dinosaurs fake pressed chicken). Our waitress was wonderful, food just is NOT GOOD. Now we are all at home fighting for a bathroom.

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here and it was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and the food & drinks were delicious. Our dinners didn't come out at the same time, but there were 20 of us, so I completely understand.

The food was alright. I had a burrito with shrimp in it, which tasted great. But the guacamole to the side was bland, and the red sauce with the chips didn't have much flavor with the first set (second red sauce tasted better) which can only mean it's not very consistent. The kids burrito ground meat was too salty, could not eat, and wasn't told there would be red sauce on top. The waitress seemed to rush us from ordering or leaving the table too quick, and told us it was because she was the only waitress in the restaurant (was tending to 4 tables including ours). The food did come out quick and was hot, and the chips and white sauce tasted great. Don't think i would choose that as an option next time for Mexican cuisine, just wasn't what i was looking for. Looked nice in the inside though, so maybe its good for other people.

Love this place! They have good chips and salsa, margaritas, and food. They have always gotten my order correct and the prices are reasonable. I've never had to wait for a table which is great. The place is pretty clean. Only once the bathroom was a little messy.

Food was very bland. Waiter spoke NO English. They didn't bring my son his meal and when they finally did they overcharged us for a drink when it was supposed to be included with his meal. The white sauce had the taste & consistency of mayonnaise. Very disappointed-used to go all the time before they moved and loved it. Wont be going back. Side note: I feel ill several hours after eating here.

Food is good. I've been here multiple times it really just depends on the crowd and your waitress. The last time I went it was a bit crowded and our waitress seemed to not be able to multitask her tables. I'd go back again cause it's a cool spot, it's just best to get u a table in the bar area. You'll get your food and stuff a bit quicker

A eastern style take on Mexican food( not TeX Mex, just so you're on the same page). Great taste, menu is large and has a good variety. Nice atmosphere, great bar area, kid friendly menu. Can be a little pricey but the taste and quantity is worth it.

Such a disappointment. This used to be our "go to" restaurant for a quick, reliable lunch or dinner. This most recent visit produced sub-par food: soggy tacos, and watery chicken enchiladas. Perhaps there have been some personnel changes.

Starting to slide downhill... We got there early for dinner before they got busy. Waited 5 minutes before anyone showed up to seat us. Our waitress was preoccupied talking to people she knew at another table and was not very attentive on what we needed. Had to get her attention to ask for refills.

The décor was very attractive. The hostess was a little slow in seating us, even though there was no line. It appeared that she was in the middle of a conversation with another employee and she did not want to seat us until she was finished with her story. I ordered Camarones Chipotle, and it was very tasty. A co-worker ordered a burrito and asked that black beans be put in the burrito. The dish was served without the black beans, so my co-worker sent it back to be corrected. The server attempted to claim that my co-worker had ordered the black beans on the side, but she did get the corrected dish. The lunch-size shrimp fajita was so plentiful that my other co-worker had to get a take-out box. It is a place we will probably visit again!

This was my first time to El Patron. The staff were nice and very quiet and a bit too quiet because I had a hard time hearing our server. The chips and salsa was good and I had no issues with this. I was not crazy About the food at all. Being from New Mexico, I am very critical of Mexican food and always looking for good authenticity. The sauce was not spicy and very tomato tasting to a fault. Overall, I have to give my experience 2 stars. Sorry, El Patron. I’ll continue dining at Chuy’s and continue my search.

The food here has not been good for awhile. My boyfriend and I went one evening and ordered a meal for two, the Fajitas del Campo and the meat was so insanely dry. This was not a cheap meal either and sadly it tasted awful. The service was poor on top of the food not tasting good. Pretty disappointed and won’t be going back anytime soon.

When I walked in, nobody greeted me they just stood there staring at me. I had to walk around on my own to find my party. It was also very loud though not many people were there. Would be helpful if they turned down the music so the 7 people in there didn't have to shout.
