In town for work and was craving some chips, guacamole and salsa. Well, the chips were warm but “flat” tasting. The salsa I believe was from a jar, it was very pasty/jammy and lacked any freshness. The guacamole was very bland. I ordered a chicken burrito which had the rice and beans in it. I had to cut it open to find any chicken and it was mixed with sausage?!? $25 later and I left with 2/3 of my food left. Thanks for the recommendation, KLS!

I've been all over Mexico and the U.S. in search of the best Mexican restaurants and El Paso consistently ranks amongst the top performers. The menu offers several unique dishes that you won't find at just any Mexican restaurant. El Paso does a phenomenal job with their seafood dishes! The portions are huge and the prices are reasonable. The recent renovations to the bar and dining room are also impressive. El Paso has been my first stop on every trip to Richmond for nearly a decade.

We had a server MARTA tonight. Along with I believe a food critic sitting behind us. All the attention was on him and almost all of our orders were messed up, one was even forgotten. Never asked us I we wanted water or anything. Had to ask multiple times for one thing. Wait staff was all standing in the middle watching this guy. I came back in a minute after forgetting my food and Marta was talking bad about one of my family members I uess not knowing I could completely understand her. I always tip good but she was a complete train wreck. Very rude

We have been eating at this place for the past couple years. We will either eat there, or pick up to go. The food has always been very good, and the service great. However, the last 3 times that we have called in an order to pick up, they have screwed it up! The first time the only sent the appetizer out of an order for dinner for four adults, the second time we got the large shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and when we opened it, there were maybe 5 shrimp and it was missing the red tomato sauce which is the main part of this dish, and the third time it was also an incomplete order!! Everytime this has happened my husband calls the manager to let him know, and since we're not going to take the car out to drive there again yo get whatever they messed up, they just say they will give us a discount for the next order.... That's nice, but I would much rather get my order complete.

I went there for the first time and I practically fell in love with this restaurant. The thing I chose from the menu was the shrimp burrito Grande. There is practically no wait for fodid drinks and tables compared to most restaurants. Honestly I recommend this for everyone and if you vegetarian they have a vegetarian section so your safe. The food here was delish. Unfortunately the service wasn't the best. We were seated and the waitress came over to us from sitting and eating at the bar. She took our order. Someone else brought the food. Then someone else came back a little too infrequently to check on us. Our waitress was back at the bar eating and then left altogether. We were confused who our server was. Great food tho!

I would say 5 star but service was slow and the menu doesn't quite explain the food the way it should good flavor but was not what I expected when I ordered the food I got this steak thing that says it cover in cheese but it didnt look like it had cheese when I asked waiter he said it a cheese sauce that's watery not what I expected

This is the best kept secret for Mexican food in Richmond!! It’s by far the best Mexican food and service in Richmond! I’ve tried most of the Mexican restaurants in Richmond area and none of them come close. I recommend Camoranes a la Diablo (spicy shrimp) and the shrimp actually tastes fresh and authentic, and not like the plastic wrapped cheap shrimp at many restaurants. Authentic Mexican restaurant with amazing food and good service. We had Fajitad Texanas and Fajitas Aztec. It was delicious and very filling. At $14 each dish it was a good deal. I would recomend to friends and would visit again soon. Oh... we also drank Dos X beer Amber... amazing!

I really like coming here, but the last three times I’ve been with a table of 6 or more, the food takes 50-60 minutes to arrive. If this continues I will curb my visits. Groups of less than 6 seem to be in and out quick, so if this is you go give it a try.

The food and service was good, and I really recommend this restaurant. However I did have 2 issues: 1) there was a lingering smell of burning rubber the entire time I was in there. I don’t imagine it’s normal, because this restaurant comes highly recommended to me. And 2) they sat multiple large parties next to each other in a basically empty restaurant. The place isn’t big enough to need to sit everyone in one small area.

I LOVE Mexican food and have ventured to most of the restaurants in the greater Richmond area. Hands down - this is my favorite Mexican restaurant. The food is so fresh - giant shrimp, fresh veggies, excellent rice! The services has been great everytime we've gone. And have I mentioned the sangria? It's essentially an alcoholic fruit salad bowl. Request an Uber and go there for dinner. You won't regret it.

Absolutely LOVE this place ! Been eating here since I was a kiddo. Now that I can enjoy the margaritas, it's even better. Request white sauce with your chips. The spinach quesadilla is great. And of course you can't go wrong with fresh guacamole . Will be back again and again !
