Restaurant and View is beautiful
Right on the Potomac. Good views from most tables. Excellent service. We were here for restaurant week. Prime Rib was excellent as was the appetizers. Free birthday dessert. Very nice.
Second time dining here. Both times... excellent service. Salmon and dessert were delightful. My friend had the salad bar and was very pleased. Celebrated a birthday. The menu was personalized. It was a nice touch. A great dining experience was had by all.
The Chart House was open, spacious and beautiful. We could see the ferris wheel at National Harbor from our window seat. The food was delicious and our waiter was really cool (we got a bit of a history lesson about the place from him. Apparently he was employee #6 when it opened in '88). Highly recommended.
Service was awful. We were out on the patio. Our server was less than attentive. Took forever to get water, did not ask if we wanted anything else to drink. Finally asked if we wanted more water and he refilled with a pitcher that had been sitting in the sun .. no ice .. just topped off our glasses with warm water :-( beyond disappointed.. I will be going back to Bonefish for amazing servers.
Had never been there before and I was pleasantly surprised! Great place!
You can't beat the Potomac River views from this restaurant. The food and service are very good as well. In the summer, you can have drinks outside on their great deck.
Really nice location, nautical atmosphere, and great service, but the food was a little more "traditional American fine dining". The preparation of the protein and produce on the plate was okay, but the presentation style and the carb on the side were not at the same level as what I would expect for the price and atmosphere.
Awesome food and service
We came here at the last minute. The staff was amazing and the food was outstanding. I can't say enough good things about this place.
The food was great. Id definitely eat there again. I wouldnt call it 5 star but it was good enough.
Gorgeous view of the river and good food. Try the house made ice cream, it's delicious.
After many years being a costumer, they still offer great food and service!! Thank you!
Good dining experience, but the restaurant needs to have a proper (smoother) ramp for wheelchair. That ramp was a bumpy ride on the 'brick road'. Suggested that they have push button automatic door, for disabled persons to get in and out easier. Steak was juicy amd tender.....first in a long time I've had a steak (well done), that was edible.
As always, amazing service, delicious food, and a gorgeous view.
Love this place. As a vegetarian my options are limited, however, this place offers wonderful customizable salads. Also, its bar selection (drinks, wines, and beers) is also very good. Great view of the Potomac both inside and outside
I love going to the Chart House. It is a very nice view, the salad bar is beyond fantastic. I come here once or twice a year. It is an investment for dinner but for your anniversary, birthday, or out of town guests it can be a really nice splurge. The last time we were here was with out of town company. We had crab dip and lava cake. I had cooked at home for them so that was a splurge on the way to the Kennedy Center for a play. Best of all my aunt bought. Nice surprise. Nice view. Stellar cake. Yum.
Always good for a special occasion. The value is the location. Food is good. Service fair.
Our waitress Callie (hope I spelled that correctly) was very personable, efficient and funny. She made sure that the food coming to the table was timed perfectly, and we never felt rushed or had to wait over long. The food was delicious. The cheddar crab dip was crostini was the perfect starter: creamy cheesy crab on crispy crostini. Delicious! The C.A.B. teriyaki sirloin with tropical relish and fingerling potatoes provided the perfect dinner portion. The signature lava cake was the ultimate end for dinner. It was chocolatey, gooey, and balanced by rich vanilla ice cream.
This was one of my mother's top pick places to eat. A surprise visit home and a wonderful day together. She wanted the tower as she calls it. That is avocado stacked by mango salad with Maryland crab and shrimp topped off with a spiced olive oil sauce. Calamari deep fried, cream crab soup with a sherry sauce accent and fish and chips. Bread basket with crackers whipped butter chef salad and Moscato white wine. Topped that all off with a coffee and chocolate ice cream cake that was drizzled with a dark chocolate sauce covered over the top with walnuts. Wonderful server who took the time with us and truly made the evening that much more memorable. Find your moment and let the Chart House please you.
Fantastic food. Great service. We had an all around wonderful visit/experience dining at the Chart House.
Great Brunch, nice waterfront atmosphere.
Amazing crab cakes with a nice atmosphere
Service great, food good.
Delicious seafood cobb salad with a splash of Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc-Viognier (a widely available wine that’s satisfying & very affordable). At the Chart House Restaurant … still the best view in Old Town Alexandria. Cheers!
This place is fantastic! Celebrated with my dad, friends and family for his 80th birthday celebration. Food was outstanding and so were the staff. Changed the TV channel so I could watch the men's French Open final! Can't wait to come back!
Always, great food and service!! We will be back, as always.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. The food was delicious and in good size portions. The prices were reasonable. Location and views are incredible. Clean and well run. Highly recommend it.
We were really looking forward to celebrating our anniversary here and it did not disappoint. Ahi and swordfish were both amazing. Waitstaff, specifically Julio and Victoria, were super attentive and helpful. From letting us taste wine to helping ensure I didn't select anything with dairy (I can't have it), they were great! Such a fun night in a beautiful location.
Great Food and Atmosphere...
Business Meeting! Usually boring 98% blah, blah; well not this time!! The restaurant, the service, the menu, the view into the National Harbor, all great, and turned our meeting yo a fun evening. Our Wonderful server, took care of our guest, with a last minute surprise. Well folks, our new venture with its start at the Chart House, looks great. We will be back to celebrate our first company milestone. Thank you Chart House.
Chart house Very poor service and bad quality food served cold at overpriced $40 per person without drinks. We ordered fish Mahi and prime rib. The fish was not fresh and was chewy and served cold. Prime rib was dry and also served cold. We told the waiter. He took the plates away and and brought few minutes later. This time it was over heated to the point of burning. We had to wait for it to cool... We skipped desert ... I will not go back...
The food was absolutely delicious. Prices are up there, but you are getting quality at a premium location on the waterfront.
Very nice place, amazing view, good service, food was ok, not wow, maybe my order does not taste as amazing , it was the chart cut steak, it was very plain. Have been in other restaurants the food was super amazing. Over all not a bad experience, will return maybe for something different and the ambiance!
Good service. Very friendly. Appetizers we're are than enough to fill the bill for 5 people.
Went for Sunday Brunch. The salad bar was mediocre and disappointing. The lights were not working over the salad bar, which made it difficult to see what was offered. The items were bland. The unique item cavier was poor quality and not worth the $. Our brunch specials were awful. The hollandaise was like canned sauce mixed with mustard. The poached eggs, rubber balls with hard cooked yolks. The meat was over manipulated tenderized, favorful chewy cardboard texture. Even the potatoes were square cubes of dried, over salted nuggets that catsup could not help. The fresh fruit with fresh mint leaves was the best item on the plate. I was sorry to be there. It was supposed to be a special time with my guest. Instead it was a disappointing apology to my friend. He never complains but even he told the waiter "for the good of others", the chef should know...the mustard sauce was awful. Too bad, great location. $70 later plus tip, over all blah...don't waste your money.
We’re coming here almost every week. This time we brought some friends from Europe. The service was amazing, the food is really really great. I highly recommend the trio tuna appetizer ,And the oysters. The file mignon for the main course was cooked to perfection. The service is always excellent.
Celebrated my birthday there and so glad I did! Delicious food, friendly service, and a nice view!
OMG! Incredible! We celebrated our anniversary dinner here and so happy we did! The food, drinks, service were all amazing! Beautiful riverfront view. Ambiance is really nice. They even served us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary! Stop in and give Chart House a try!
Family and I had a great dinner here, from entree to salads to the food is delicious and right portions and don’t forget the view if you’re having your meal out. Our server Ron was good and knows his menu well. Highly recommend visiting this place.
Excellent dinner. Wide food selection. Extensive wine list. Great view.
Had to wait 30min to be seated with a reservation, but it was Valentine's Day. The food was amazing! We had the cream of crab soup, prime rib and red velvet lava cake. We'll definitely be back!
Great food, friendly staff, great views of the waterfront
We had a luncheon here to celebrate my father's life. This was his favourite restaurant and after eating here, I can totally agree. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. I would definitely recommend Chart House.
The Crispy Coconut Shrimp entree should be classified as a dessert item on the menu. It is extremely sweet and unpalatable. Definitely not what you would expect from a sea food restaurant. I've had better tasting seafood at a street food vendor. Do not recommend. Save yourself time and money and go to the food trucks at the National Mall.
Stopped in for happy hour and was pleasantly surprised to find a nice tasting and reasonably priced wine available. Chart House has undeserved reputation for being touristy. Actually is a nice mix of tourists and locals. Great location at the city dock and awesome views.
Decent brunch items, I prefer the dock to table menu... very fresh and very tasteful seafood options... I enjoyed the blackened trout with coconut ginger rice with a side of mango salsa, my family had the brunch crab cakes
Beautiful setting with large windows and a view of the water. Food looks gorgeous and tastes amazing! The coconut ship was cooked perfectly and the 3 sauces were all amazing. There's was something for everyone and everything was delicious.
Nice ambience. Crab cake and crab stuffed shrimps are great. Their carpaccio de pulpo was cooked so had a rubbery texture and didn’t have much flavor. Skip the “highly recommended” lava cake. It’s overcooked - the cake is almost solid. Good to know that this takes 30mins to prepare (so you can already order at the beginning of the meal). However, perhaps baking it shorter will make it better?
We came here for my father's memorial luncheon. This was one of his favorite seafood and steak places. I can see why. The views are beautiful, the service was excellent. Everyone from the event coordinator, to the waitstaff were excellent and a pleasure to work with. We needed our room rearranged just a bit to be near a plug with one of the tables and while we were going to move them ourselves, the staff jumped right on it and were so quick to help us decorate, set up and make sure the guests were well taken care of. The food was excellent. We are so thankful for their attention to detail and to make sure that we were well taken care of also. I can't recommend this place enough!
Ordered a crabfish club sandwich which was good. The sweet potato fries were fresh and tasty. My hubby ordered French Dip Prime Beef sandwich which he said was good. The staff was friendly and attentive. The views in the Charthouse overlooking the Potomac River were spectacular.
One of my favourite places to eat on the harbor.
Food good, service Meh, table sucked!
Great meal, great view, great staff, great fun!
Great waterfront place to eat and good food
Great food and staff!
Nice river side view. Very good food and drinks. Also, service too. Would like to visit again when I travel to DC area next time.
I've been going to various Chart House locations since I was a child, and I love eating here. We decided to come here for our anniversary, and from start to finish we were WOWed beyond belief. I created a reservation through open-table, and that was very seamless. I mentioned it was our anniversary, and when we got to the host stand, they were able to seat us by a window with a view! Our menus included a note from the chart house, as well as a separate card signed by the staff, thanking us for celebrating our special day with them. The pleasure was all ours! Andres - our server - was exceptional, charismatic, fun, knowledgeable, and truly made the night. He was quick with responses, engaged us and we felt at home with him! He is also super funny, so enjoy that if you can! The food was, as always, exceptional. The salad bar was filled with everything we needed. She got the Macadamia Mahi, and I got the Callahan Cut (18oz prime rib). Both were fresh, delicious, cooked exactly to taste, and really out of this world. Finally, the dessert (coffee ice cream cake) was an amazing cap to the end of the night. I am so glad we got to spend this special day together!
Came here for dinner. Atmosphere is nice, you can tell that it's an old venue. They have parking which was super nice. Service was friendly. For appetizers we tried the calamari (amazing!!), Shrimp cocktail (pretty standard) and tuna (good). For entrees we tried the spiced aji (soooo good!), Fish stuffed with lobster (a bit heavy), prime rib and Maine lobster (they can crack it open for you). Lobster was fresh and tasted great. I got the 2.5lb lobster and really enjoyed it. Drinks were tasty too. I tried the whiskey and rum based cocktails and really enjoyed both! For dessert we had mud cake which was a huge portion but so tasty! Overall I would recommend this place. Had a good vibe and the food was tasty although not cheap for a regular dinner.
For price of the food and drinks one would expect to have exceptional service. However, we were very disappointed. There was a 35 min wait which was fine because of being a Saturday night, however once we were sat the service was extremely slow. We were sat on the patio and forgotten about. Our waiter could have stepped it up. The apps came out before our drinks. I was very disappointed that the entrees only include mash potatoes. For the price couldn’t they add a vegetable? And not once did our waiter check on us once the food came out. Poor service. First and last time here.
Atmosphere is awesome. Food was too dry...we had the steak and mahinmi mahi fish. I've certainly had better in less fancy places....
We went to celebrate our late honeymoon visiting from the Dominican Republic and I can tell everything was excellent, we had really great service, all the food was good, the view of the river was nice and they gift ice-cream for being there celebrating.
I’m going to give it a full five stars even though we had to leave shortly after getting the check because of a fire in the kitchen and the fire department wanted everyone to leave. Now that the worst is out of the way. I and my family absolutely enjoyed having dinner here. The view in the evening from upstairs while eating over the Potomac was just great. The service the our waitress gave us was top notch. And all of our food was delicious. The crab dip and octopus appetizers are amazing. I had King Salmon Oscar style with Blue Crab over top. I know the Swordfish and coconut shrimp are very good as well. Overall I would definitely return here again.
Nice view. Visited for restaurant week and was very disappointed. Shrimp scampi was the worst. Overpriced.
Great food and awesome location overlooking the Potomac right in Old Town Alexandria
Yum! Food is exquisite and service is impeccable! Please go and do your taste buds a favor! Yum yum yum
Perfect for a special dinner, great service, even better location. Of course it's expensive but it's worth it.
Great food and drinks. The prices are reasonable too. Go and enjoy.
Had a great anniversary dinner there. Let them know in advance. They gave us a nice table along the windows, anniversary card and complimentary dessert. Food was all done right. And our server (Dora) was great. Had to wait 15 minutes past our reservation time, to be seated - that was the only (minor) issue.
Really good experience food was great. we will come back for sure!!!
Took my queen there for her bday and she loved it
Wine and service was excellent.
amazing food! we got chefs table three course meal for $30. i had chopped salad (it was delicious), salmon and homemade peanut butter icecream (also delicious) and my friend got savory chicken and mud pie. the view was amazing. ambience was elite and calming. we were planing to have a one hour dinner we ended up spending two hours there. totally worth going.
The food was delicious, our waiter let me taste different wines that would pair well with my meal and the second choice was perfect. The prime rib was cooked to perfection and my medium rare filet mignon was fantastic. Overall great experience service and food. The view of the harbor was also enjoyable.
Chart House was just barely fine. We did go for Valentines Day so I know it was busy but they seemed completely unprepared. We arrived ten minutes early for our 7:15 reservation and we were seated at almost 8, then waited a bit for our server to get to us. She was a bit frazzled, we were brought the wrong drinks and such, but not a huge deal. A bug flew around us the whole time. The food came out just about cold and because we knew it would be an ordeal to fix it because of the crowd we let it be. Overall bland and forgettable (especially for the price we paid.) The bright spot in our meal was the awesome crab dip and double berry Moscow mule. We definitely won’t be going back.
Beautiful ambiance, a beautiful view and great food. The service was amazing, the food was superb. First, they bring out a variety of warm delicious bread. Everything was beyond delicious! The waitress suggested a great white wine to pair with the food and everything was amazing. I can't wait to come back here!
Only go here for view, apps and the Fiery Cucumber martini. So so good!
I came for Christmas Eve dinner. First timer! The meal started with water and an assorted bread basket. Yum! Then two beers. The appetizers we're 6 oysters on the half shell and a crab dip (this one stole the show for savory). An entree of Mac Nut Mahi (the sauce wasn't my favorite. I prefer buttery/lemony I guess) was shared, and so was a Mud Pie dessert (this one stole the show for sweet. Perfect size for sharing. Not overly sweet and doesn't melt quickly like ice cream). This place is rated as $$$ but makes you feel like $$$$. Details matter here such as the romantic fireplace, the napkins with logo, and the coat room. Also the upstairs area looks like I need to check it out. I'll definitely be back.
Prime ribs Tuesday, wonderful, and the salad bar is divine
Nice view on the water - food was good but not outstanding. Service was good
I just walked in with my daughter, barely anyone in the place and they said we could have a seat anywhere we liked on the right side. We took a seat where we are very visible and continued to sit there for twenty minutes with out anyone saying a word to us, multiple staff looking at us but no one came over.
Couldn't be more underwhelmed. Great service but food was incredibly lackluster especially for the price point, all to watch tourists line up for ferries and dead fish float by.
Excellent food and service. Atmosphere is great. Staff was accommodating but service was slow due to understaffing.
The food at Chart House was really good. The service was excellent as well. I definitely see myself going back there over and over again.
OMG BEST SOUP HANDS DOWN! DEFINITELY WILL BE GOING BACK AGAIN! #seafoodlover
Excellent seafood choices. Their swordfish & scallop are perfect entree ....so delicious
On July 21 this was the best brunch I have had in a very long time. The service was excellent and very helpful. The food was great. Fifteen members of my family attended brunch for our Dad's 80th birthday. He died on June 18 before he turned 80. The Chart House was the perfect place to celebrate his life!!
Large event lunch- food and service were both outstanding. Hard to beat the view.
Only been here one time. Compared to other places nearby I'd rate it average for food and drinks. Friendly staff.
We wanted a light supper and a couple of drinks while sitting outside and enjoying a nice view. Chart house in Old Town Alexandria fit the bill. We ordered and liked the crab dip and calamari, and some tasty cocktails. Our server was attentive and made some good suggestions.
Food is always good... Celebrating my mother 84th Birthday... So I went back to Chart House last week with my mother and the menu have changed... The chicken dish I ordered before the change was really delicious... I wasn't to please with what they replace it with... They need to switch back.. Thats just my opinion... I hope you take it in to consideration.
Our first time visiting. Reservation made via 'open table.' Preference request to have outside seating granted. Views did not disappoint. Had coconut shrimp, hummus sampler and crab dip for appetizers. For dinner, had Thai shrimp. Thai shrimp is for the adventurous palate. The crab dip turned out to be the favorite. Pleasant weather, great venue, enjoyable group of friends and decent food made for a gorgeous visit. I do recommend this restaurant for a great time with friends and family. Will visit again.
Stopped in for HH and I’m so glad I did. The food and drinks were really good. The view of the Potomac is phenomenal as well!
Food was cold, but staff was great.
The New England clam chowder was awesome and the selections at the salad bar varied and delicious
Sat at the bar here cause it’s my motto to always try sitting at the bar when visiting a new place (that’s how you learn all the good things about a place). I was very happy with Lee the bartender! Not only did he he help us learn about the area, but he also helped us order some awesome food and drinks!
Great food, horrible experience. Do not show up without reservations for Sunday brunch, even if there are only 15 minutes left. Especially not on the hottest day of the year. We were seated in what should have been a super spot--inside the fake lighthouse (sure there is a better term for it) which would be just LOVELY in the dead of winter, because there is a cool fireplace in the middle of the room. We discovered the room has no air conditioning, and the two beautiful fans were turning too slow to do anything. The temperature absolutely affected enjoyment of the meal by me. Hard to enjoy a cup of coffee (very good coffee) when you are melting. The food was very good...we had crab dip, a NY Strip, and the ribeye and eggs brunch. All were delightful... perfectly prepared and presented. The service was VERY slow, affecting my ability to get the heck out of there before I melted. If I was the waitperson, I would not have wanted to go in that room, either. The heat really did affect my ability to enjoy the food. The salad bar looked a bit rough, and my dining companion gave up on the pasta salad due to too much cilantro (strange place for cilantro). I have to keep in mind the people servicing it were doing the best they could in light of the number of customers cleaning it out, otherwise good.
Have been going to this restaurant since 2006, and I've never had a bad meal here (Brunch, Lunch, or Dinner). Great seafood, wonderful views of the Potomac, and friendly servers. Definitely a winner if you're looking for a nice place to eat in Alexandria.
Terrible service and my swordfish was uncooked. I would not recommend
Food was superb! Loved the crabcake appetizer! Would have preferred a little more, as this was for two. Had the stuffed shrimp with crabmeat, outstanding!! Just delicious! Opted for the red mashed potatoes and had the asparagus. Both were splendidly prepared! Especially the asparagus, A+! And loved the peach flavored iced tea. Very nice dinner. Nice dinner, but a little costly. Cost should balance with food. Nice ambiance.
Food was excellent and the service was great!
Great views, great food, great service. From the front door getting through the dinner service, nothing but great. They really take their time and make sure everything is exactly right for you.
Excellent dining experience with a great relaxing view of the riverfront.
Foods delicious but takes a while make sure to try the lava cake but u need 30 mins for preperarion
Had an amazing first time here! The location, the view, the service, the food...everything gets an A+! Our server was Kidist(sp?) she was great and welcoming! She was attentive to our party's allergies, our celebration (s/n: the Chart House even put a congratulatory message on the menu!) and Kidist even gave us great recommendations. Some of our food items pictured: 1.Shrimp, Crab, Avocado + Mango Stack 2. Kim Chee Calamari 3. Baked Crab Dip 4. Trout 5. Crab Stuffed Flounder 6. Lemon Herb Crusted Salmon All in all I plan on returning often!
Had a wonderful time dining here for lunch. Enjoyed the extra details that were added for my special occasion. The experience was quite memorable. The atmosphere was very beautiful.
Great food and atmosphere
The ambiance is great ...right on the waterfront of the Potomac River. The service I great with a friendly and efficient staff. The food is excellent. My favorite is the Spinach Salad and that's what I usually order. But today I had a Cheese Omelet which delicious. The French Bread is very tasty Therefore, I highly recommend the Chart House .
Been a frequent here for the last decade from when I was in college to now adult with a family. Have always had a great time. UNTIL, tonight i can say was the worse service. Between the frequent forgetting of our table. Or misfiring of and food coming out before appetizers or the attitude from the server Katelyn. I can say that I will no longer bring my parents, friends or family. I'm sad to say that I think this restaurant has gone downhill. And the behavior is shown in servers especially Katelyn.
Very tasty entrees. Love the English clamp chowder soup. Very friendly and professional servers
My girlfriend and I booked dinner here having reserved a table over a month in advance. When we arrived we were informed they were running 15 minutes behind. 25 minutes later we were among many people awaiting seating. We asked for an update only to learn they had forgotten to call us. The restaurant was clearly over booked and many customers were left waiting in the lobby. The food was good as was our server but I would recommend another restaurant in the area if it's a special occasion.
Food was great. Service was very good as well. Small observation: the food and drinks take a bit long to come out. That is compensated by the place's atmosphere as the dining room has big windows with a spectacular view of the harbor. We will certainly be back.
Most excellent lunch, food fabulous and wait staff excellent. Incredible vista while dining!
Made reservation for 5:45pm and we were seated promptly. Good ambiance. Wait and bus staff pleasant. Appetizers all had too much sauce: calamari. tuna poke. Hummus plate is hummus mixed-diluted with other ingredients of 3 varieties presented as three scoops. Tasted terrible to us and no hummus taste. Bread was not warm. Water refill service slow and not timely. Main courses: trout overcooked, rice overcooked; filet mignon cooked as desired but side of mushrooms was overcooked and too saucy; coconut shrimp was fine but overcooked; prime rib was absolutely awful as it was very fatty and tasteless. Deserts were fine. Good luck to you but we will move on.
Great restaurant right on the water in Old Alexandria. Offers a wide selection of fresh seafood and sandwiches for lunch. Reasonably priced for the area and great service.
Service and location are great. Food is ok... and pricy for that matter. I wanted a brunch and they don’t have it on Saturday... the drinks were on point.
I had high expectations going to a waterfront restaurant in Alexandria. The food when it finally got to us was good, but the portion size was very small and the amount of time we waited between being seated and a server coming was long enough that we almost got up and left. I walked over to the bar from my table to get a refill. Also the chef brought my food out but could not figure out what table so he took my food back. Awhile later my food came back out.
Nice place with a view of the waterfront. Food was good but service was a bit of a drag. Also, they did not serve a few drinks listed on their menu.
The food was excellent no doubt about the bar tender service was very an professional. It was Sunday evening I came from work to have dinner.i literally beg to order wine and again for my food didn’t come ones to ask me what I need he is running doing his side work I think, it’s sad to see this @cart House . I have been coming here for over 20 years .
Beautiful view in the nice part of the town, great place to have a meeting, date or casual dinner. Food is ok, overpriced as usual for an upscale restaurant but thats expected, rent is expensive. I would recommend Chart House to those that are not chasing the best meals in town but rather looking for a nice experience.
The food was cold and over cooked it took a long time for the food to arrive. Server was good food not so much
Food was good but we asked our server for five things and she didn't give us any of them. Servers need a basic server lesson. The last time i came here, on my birthday, the server spilt red wine all over the table. They had to change the table cloth while we were sitting at the table waiting for our order. Management issue.
The food is great, ambiance is great, but service was okay. Wanted to order something during a blackout but wanted to make sure it was possible to be made during the blackout. The waiter had said yes so I placed the order. 32 minutes later, he comes to my table after passing a few times to tell me it can’t be made. Would of appreciated earlier if he had just said no in the first place. Would like to give this place another try but after waiting that long for a no, just ruins it for me.
This is our go-to place for celebrations or happy hour. Everything we've had is good. The mango mojitos are our favorite!
Very impressed. So glad they had a hummus appetizer for us vegans.
Upscale ambiance, very busy...make a reservation over the weekends for dinner. Yummy salad bar! Many options for various diets.
To hot to sit outside today! Tuna Poke bowl and Pomegranate mojito were excellent! Server was very good also!
I haven't been to Chart House in awhile. The last time (2yrs ago) I wasn't impressed. Food was ok service, the same. This time was great. The server was attentive without being pesty. The food was great. Cream of crab soup - yummy! Hubby's tuna trio was awesome. The atmosphere was relaxed. I recommend going on Monday. Nice laid back crowd.
Very nice place, great location and ambiance, good servers and tasty food. Being seated outside with the view was even better
Service was excellent, food delicious and beautiful view. What could be better.
Outside or inside diner . Excellent view to the water front. Big list of drinks or cocktails. Seafood or meat to your liking
I always though this place is touristy and nothing for me. But I liked my first visit there very much, the view is just awesome and the service was very friendly, even got a birthday cake... Also the food tasted very good and the portions were more than big enough. I was stuffed...
Excellent service and great food plus excellent scenery
The food is just okay as well as the service. The view is absolutely beautiful. I ordered the tuna poke bowl. The tuna was great but the rice noodles were disgusting. They had no flavor or taste. The cracker that is came with was great. As far a the service, we had to wait for the hostess to show and then we waited quite some time for the server to show up. This was on a slow day. I don't think I will return.
The baked stuffed shrimp use to be large now its very tiny. No good. Pay more for less here now. Long ago they gave you large portions and now they are holding back. Not good at all.
Great location with fantastic views right on the water. The atmosphere is comfortable amd we were provided a private corner where we were able to talk easily to each other. Menu offers a great selection of different options to suit just about any palate. The waiter was friendly, well trained and highly service oriented. He made great dinner recommendations and was attentive throughout the entire meal. Highly recommend the Chart House.
The service was excellent! The food was great overall. We had one mishap and things were corrected immediately. I have been a few times have been amazed at the consistency over time. Mike's American used to be number one but dare I say The Chart House may have moved them to 1A.
The menu was perfect and reflected my dad's taste in food. They printed special menus titled "Celebrating the life of" (my dad's name). It was so nice. The food was delicious! They had two waiters assigned to our party and they were wonderful. They were so attentive without being intrusive
For over a decade we have been going to the Chart House for its formerly generous Sunday buffet and beautiful setting on the Potomac River. On July 27, 2019 we still enjoyed the view and ambiance but were very disappointed with the very meager salad bar at $20.00. For example, there were no more shrimp, lobster claws, variety breads, and other upscale food—just some routine vegetables. Since our last visit we noticed that the prices increased substantially with smaller portions. Our server Ti was efficient and gracious. We doubt we will return soon with so many other area restaurants which offer good value.
This place seems to gone downhill in a big way. After coming here for nearly 30 years, this may be the last time for me. The service was great but the food for cold, some overcooked, some undercooked and just generally poor. When you spend $27 for eggs Benedict, it should be at least warm. Potatoes seemed to have been sitting for hours and then left to sit outside for 30 minutes. The bloody Mary was one of the worst I've had. Only the view was nice. I should point out, it wasn't even busy when I was here. My daughter's prime rib hash was so bad, she took one bite and was done. I would no longer recommend this old favorite.
Best food in DC! They made mine and my wife's anniversary a pleasant memorable experience. Great food, good wine, amazing staff.
Came here for my granddaughter's HS graduation celebration!
Ambiance great; small plates not meant to be small plates
The bartender didn’t listen well the drink that I ordered and when I tell him “hey I didn’t order this” he says “oh shit”. In the industry it is inaceptable. I didn’t want to order anything else because the service is with out standards and poor. I’d never see the bartender again so I request the check to the bar back who calls the other bartender.
Ambiance was nice, food...ehhhh
Amazing food and service. 1st time there and it was a wonderful experience. They deserve 6 stars!!
Beautiful view , great food and service
Locate and good value.
A food was delicious. I must comment on the exceptional service we received. The wait person knew our names and called us by name when they came over to the table.
Great food, even better service experience.
Totally impressed! Great food, beautiful restaurant overlooking the Potomac. I will be back.
Pleasant enough. Stopped for an afternoon drink in the bar. Got there 9 minutes before happy hour started and the barkeep wanted to know if we were willing to wait! I'm sure his tip would have been bigger if he just offered the happy hour price. Seemed kinda petty
We went for restaurant week; it wasn’t even worth the discounted price. Truly, truly terrible food. I’m talking unevenly heated, small portions, and weird flavors. I’m not a foodie, I’m talking about really basic food prepared poorly.
Great location! Especially if you get a window seat looking at the water.
Hands down one of the best seafood restaurants I have ever visited. I had the crab cake appetizer with the crab stuffed tilapia as my dinner selection. Fresh, well prepared and seasoned perfectly to bring out all the best from each item prepared. Bravo!
Great food great service atmosphere wae very relaxing.
Amazing food. The prices are not cheap but it is worth every penny. The staff are excelent. Our server gave awesome recomendations.
Went a few months ago for a girlfriends birthday..they personalized a menu for her party and the food was done exceptionally well. Drinks were lovely! Can't wait to come back.
