There for a private event. Superb service and fantastic fare. Highly recommended.

Zane M

I regularly come by buying some food in this spot. I love the fast service and well prepared dishes. They never disappoint.

Marina Udovcic

Great place for happy hour.....

victoria portier

Food was alright, little too much cream cheese on the waffle, and the mimosas are Supppper pricey for a brunch place

Kathryn Condello

Terrific bunch, lovely space, wonderful staff.

Devin Salmon

Food and service was great. Water was kept full.

jeffrey torres

Great meal steak was great. Atmosphere was great. Wait or was polite and very professional. Just a great place to eat.

Fred Schroeder

Some of the best food and service I have found. We really enjoyed our meals

Mary Pat Cornett

I love the food at Brabo. I used to work nearby and went often for lunch, happy hour and private events. Always great food and good services. Happy hour was a great deal - around $15 for a glass of wine and appetizer. Love the mussels!

Celeste Matos

Wonderful service. Pricey.

Sarah Greenslade

First: Had a reservation and there were two parties seated, yet somehow there was a wait. Then, upon being seated in the relatively empty room (again, 2 parties), another 15 minutes passed before we were even greeted by our server. We explicitly asked for *dirty* martinis with extra olives and about 20 minutes later we were served vodka and vermouth with a single olive. There then was unnecessary discourse between my partner and the bartender where she was stating and restating that she had not been told they were dirty and that we didn’t want vermouth. My partner ordered the filet mignon rare, it was medium at best, and I had the scallops which were fine, though the accompanying mussels tasted like how a dairy farm smells. Not once did our waiter come to ask how our food was so that we could inform him of the disappointment, but perhaps that was intentional. After it all, we were served a complementary chocolate mousse (that was the best part of the meal), but I can’t ignore what transpired before. I’d have rather had an exceptional meal and paid for dessert than to have had to have been wooed with sweets to make up for the apparent lack of f*%¥? given overall.

Dale Moore

Happy hour is the best deal here. Food quality is very good. Cozy atmosphere perfect for 1, couples or groups of 4

James Robertson

I had the best steak of my life here, and the rest of the food blew me away. Not cheap, but the food is definitely worth it.

Ana medrano

best food in Alexandria, we love brasserie concept and this one remind us of Balthazar in NY, just need more French decor perhaps?! thanks chef sebastien for your warm welcome the other night, we will be back

Larry C

Whether you are staying at the Lorien or not, this is a must for Old Town.

Hellen Fissihiae

Excellent food and service

Carroll Reviews

We tried to get into the more casual bistro next door but it was full up with a party. Was diverted to Brabo, the slightly more formal space in the hotel next door, and the service could not have been nicer. In fact, they called ahead so they hostess knew we were coming! Definitely some of the warmest hospitality in Old Town. And for those that love fromage, the cheese tray for two is enormous! Brimming with all sorts of lovely little bites. One of the best deals in town. For a grown-up night on the town, this is a fantastic "hidden in plain sight" gem.

I have gone to this restaurant several times for dinner. Excellent food & friendly staff. However, last Tuesday I decided to go out for cocktails & thought it might be a great ideal to stop at the bar. This was a baddd idea. We arrived right after happy hour. We asked the bartender if he could make a recommendation for a white wine. There were two bartenders in attendance. The bar had 6 persons seated and we would have made 8. However the slender bartender could not make a suggestion. We pondered on what our selection would be. After we decided to stick with our standard. Champagne. We asked the busboy if we could have the bartender return. He responded to our request. & asked the dark haired bartender with the mustache if he could come to our aid. We heard the bartender to respond by indicating he could get to us in a moment. Both bartenders were cutting up lemons & limes & were not busy waiting on customers. After deciding to come to serve us he appeared to be annoyed & we decided to leave. Poor customer service. Due to the rudeness of this bartender. I will never return & I will pass the word into others friends & family. Do not patronize this establishment. Rude!!!!

Billy Sanders

Food was amazing. The beverage director was fantastic and basically designed a pairing for myself and my husband even though we ordered off the price fix menu rather than the tasting menu. Our server was very knowledgeable and always on point. The service was a bit slow to start, but they did have a few large groups in at the time. Overall it was a great experience and an awesome birthday! Thank you!

Phillip Schafer

Went for brunch. Food was mostly great (other than steak a little under-done), but it took more than an hour to arrive! Server nowhere to be found while we waited. At one point he appeared and apologized, unprompted, for being "MIA," with no further explanation.

Adam Beatty

Great food and superior wait staff. Highly recommend.

Jon Johnson

Excellent experience. Service as good as the cuisine. Don't pass up the house ice creams.

sasah bard

me and my husband had a great time at brabo, mussels were a hit but the baked alaska stole the show, will be back

Keith Carpenter

100% recommend this place if you're in Old town!!! Wait staff and bartenders are spit on!!!

Jamie Morrow

Chef Cooper is a phenom.

Kevin Schleich

We popped into Brabo during restaurant week on a whim. All three courses were delightful and delicious. Incredibly professional and friendly wait staff. Loved it.

Ed Hodge

Bastille day was disappointing! Mediocre to poor idea, badly executed... hostess was disinterested, but permitted us to go to courtyard since we were 20 minutes before the show. She promised us service in a minute or two, but no water or drinks until 20 minutes later. A waitress appeared finally and apologized to about a dozen of us that the shift just changed. We left after another 15 minutes, after we realized that the only celebration of Bastille day was Watching an 18 year old film, Moulin Rouge, on a small screen TV outside!! No apologies from either the hostess or waitress. I blame the management for not supporting them with either proper training or adequate staffing. Oh well, less than 45 minutes of my life wasted!

Michael Foughty

I recognize that New Year's Eve is a challenge. But we NEVER got our lobster course for our rather expensive 5 course meal. Wait staff is great but I suspect something is amiss in the kitchen. Chef Weidimeyer (please forgive spelling) would not be pleased.

Richard Natonski

I took my wife to Brabo's for her birthday. Our experience from start to finish was absolutely outstanding. The service was great, we never felt rushed and the food (mussels, steaks) was cooked to perfection. It was a wonderful and memorable evening.

malene parker

love this place, i wish they would get better decorations, but the food is always very fresh and tasty.

Janice Dionisio, DMD

Executive Chef Sebastian knows how to put together a flavorful meal. Delicious entrees from start to finish! Our group was delightfully pleased for the 2nd time. The lobster, mussels, lamb, vegetarian meals, creative desserts, selection of cheese and prosciutto, ALL the entrees....everything was perfect. The mojitos were perfectly made as well. Thank you for making our experiences memorable. You never fail to deliver. We look forward to our 3rd visit, hopefully soon!

Ken Gilstein

Good food and excellent service!!

Mike Razak

Excellent food. Excellent service. Prices to match. Nothing here will be your favorite food item ever, as it doesn't aim to be cutting edge. But everything you get will be delicious.

Guadalupe Berry

What a place, had a date saturday night and we did pre-order the duck a l orange for 2 people, what a threat, the chef cam and presented it, flambee in front of us and then carved it back to the kitchen. chef sebastian came back many times to make sure we were happy with the dush, we had a blast, highly recommend, we will come back for happy hour next week, thank Brabo

David Lowell

What a fantastic place for breakfast. Sitting at the bar top gives you the conversation of one of the best bar tenders I've ever met. Bravo Brabo. What a W Wonderful experience!!!!!!

Marc Kriz

We came here for Mother's Day and the food and service was really good. Everything was prepared and presented well. Would recommend.

janice baden

great brunch spot, love the crepes and waffles selection

Patrick Sul

Very pretty courtyard and upscale decor inside. There were plenty of space between tables, and it was quiet enough for conversation. Food and service was in keeping with the nice surroundings. And free valet parking, a great feature in old town Alexandria steps away from the metro station. I'll be back.

Tony Tether

Great food and service

Megan Betancourt

Went here with some friends from work to celebrate. The restaurant is beautiful and the moment you walk in you are greated with a huge smile from the hostess/host. The waiter was phenomenal. He made sure we were happy and satisfied at all times. The empty plates and dirtied silverware were gracefully and discreetly taken from our table by the servers assistant. Our food from the very first bite of the appetizer to the last of the dessert was absolutely delicious and amazing. The ingredients were extremely fresh and specially crafted. The wine selection was also great. Durring our meal the head chef Sebastian came to our table to great us and make sure everything was to our satisfaction. I was extremely pleased with this fabulous fine dining restaurant. I look forward to going there again, but this time on a date with my husband.

Shelly Zbikowski

Amazing service. Food menu for resturant week was so tasty. Watermelon tomato soup, pasta vegetable lobster or a beef dish and a great selection of wine. All went well with the truffle brie and chocolate waffle. Great Anniversary dinner.

Samuel Mayo

Very elegant great for weddings

Raoul Gabiam

Excellent service, good food, nice wine selection

Janet Nyambok

Good food & ambiance

golfingandy

Really love Brabo! Came here for restaurant week and the service was amazing! The food was delicious and the ambiance is great. Highly recommend this place!

marjorie cohen

Very nice staff and clean, excellent choices of great food, a must stop and a nice dinner. Will be back soon

laura perez

wow just amazing, funny how come I never been there before, everyone seems to be drawn near the water for food but i can tell you this was the absolute best meal I had in a while and specially for a Holiday brunch. tI was invited with family to Brabo. The chef created a family style Thanksgiving day, so everyone got to enjoy every course, we were so full at the end and was well worth it. the Turkey and duck were the highlights of the meal, cannot wait to go back for dinner soon. the chef was able to stop and talk to us about his recipes as well, what a nice gentlemen.

jonathan hernandez

Great dinner at Brabo last night, a friend of mine told me to try it out and i wasn't disappointed to find that great brasserie which was packed, but we got a nice table by the window and had the chance to try some of the new items that our server mentioned. I am adventurous when it comes to food so we decide to try the squid ink risotto with sable fish, what a delicate plate and great flavors, also the blue cheese mussels were amazing definitely better than the ones at the new Augies down the street and their bologna sandwich (LOL). We ended up full but decided to try their baked alaska, flambe table-side was just perfect to finish the evening.

Betty Harris

This is rated #1 for multiple reasons. Location, decor, outstanding food and service. A must see when visiting Old Town Alexandria. Gotta love the character sketches! Don't miss this place.

Hill Luton

Seriously amazing! Great food! Great drinks! Outstanding service! Love the environment! Totally love this place!

Russell James

Heaven on a plate-- Great menu and very up to date staff and Mgmt. Don't second guess yourself one of the truly great choices in this restaurant rich community. A must Stop.

Harry Watson

Very nice atmosphere and perfect for a group up to 6

E A

We had a fantastic evening dining in the Brabo fine dining room! The restaurant is warm and inviting and the staff are wonderful people who are amazing at their jobs. It's such a pleasure to enjoy food the way it's meant to be...They give you plenty of time to enjoy the company you are with and the food you are eating. wonderful experience!

Mark Sheldon

The food was ok... The service was ok... The ambiance was good... Here's the deal, when I drop $200 on dinner, I expect more than ok...

Patrick Smith

The cheese alone would merit a 5-star rating, but the Duo de Porc has me dreaming about coming back. Let alone the incredible Côte de Boeuf! But that one needs two people. My favorite place to go for special occasions.

William Badey

It was ok. Cheese wasn't all that

anna chopers

The best brasserie ever. I had the pleasure to go back to Brabo spontaneously since they changed their chef, I have to say i was surprised to see all the changes they made there. The menu has lots of options and definitely feel at home with that type of cooking. i recommend the sea bass and the squid ink risoto, a delicacy. i wanted to try the duck a l'orange but its a pre-order so we will be back for sure.

Adam Pancake

The attempt was good but execution poor. No one was quite motivated.

ashwin nirmul

Got the mussels, rib eye, and sorbet. Expensive and tasty. I don't think I'd get the sorbet again.

Lauren Krause

Didn't like the food. The venue was nice.

Kateri Ambrow

Dined in the main restaurant at Christmas time. The food was next-level. Very impressed! I liked the ambiance and how much space there was between the tables. The waiter was accommodating to my special diet needs and verified a couple of things with the chef before placing our order. We didn't feel rushed. Comfortable, pretty, excellent food, great place for a date!

Robert Stella

perfect place for light dinner

Mk Ronzon

First, the food here is fabulous. The service- not so fabulous. 3 people at our table ordered various Belgian beers from the menu - all 3 received beers they did not order. I ordered a Quad - the waiter brought a golden ale. When I pointed out that he did not bring me the beer that I ordered, he looked me in the eye and said "they are the same thing." They ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE. If they don't have what is ordered - why not just say so? Also, while the 2 gentlemen in our party were asked repeatedly if they wanted another drink, the 2 females were ignored. I finally just got fed up and asked point blank why we were being ignored - there was no response other than - well what do you want? Maybe the waiter was new, maybe he was not. Either way, no matter how good the food, I doubt I will ever return. There are just too many other restaurants in Alexandria where the service does not detract from the dining experience as it did at Brabo.

Josh Howland

Solid food, fairly slow service. The best part of the restaurant was the Irish gentleman at the front. He was exceptional. I went in alone as I was at a conference and he was friendly and accommodating. They didn't make it seem like a burden to seat a one top and that's always a bonus. The next best thing was the whisky flight. The bartender brought out the flight, gave a general into to each and described the general flavors. These two things alone are worth the 4 stars. I'd return again if only for the drinks. The food is ok. Not bad, not amazing. I had a steak that was supposed to be medium rare and it was very nearly medium. Not a huge issue, but in that area of the country good seems underwhelming. I also had creamed spinach, which was ok but something I could've cooked at home. I totally understand that French style restaurants tend to have a slower pace, but it definitely looked like they were going much slower than necessary. I didn't hate it, but I wasn't blown away either. I would come back if I'm in that area of Alexandria again to give it another try.

Kamran Diba

Fantastic restaurant! Everything I ordered was delicious and highly recommended: octopus, shishito peppers, and foie gras.

Sharon Sanghez

Went here for

Renee Cardona

Free valet parking was very convenient. Looking forward to returning for another pot of mussels!

Brabo was the highlight of our trip to Alexandria (Old Town) VA. The server was excellent finding the perfect balance of checking in and not disrupting us. They did not rush us and allowed for a very nice fine dining experience. The Wagyu beef special was excellent and possibly in the top 10 dishes I have had around the world. The food was well prepared, perfectly seasoned, and very nicely presented. I personally have tried to avoid Old Town in the past but will definitely visit again just to dine at Brabo. The only suggestion for improvement would be with their bittersweet chocolate dessert. The added marmalade just seemed to confuse the dish and took away from the enjoyment of the dessert.

anna phillips

We went for a Sunday Brunch. A succinct but balanced menu. The execution are well done, The Pumpkin panna cotta is excellent!

Orlando G.

Stopped by on a whim for brunch. The regular menu wasn't available because they had a New Year's day buffet for $42 per person. It did not disappoint! The selection was numerous and varied and delicious. Fresh fruit, salmon, cheese, pastries, eggs and bacon, French toast, quiche, and on and on. Amazing! I left feeling stuffed and completely satisfied. Special shout out to the server Nikki who left no detail overlooked. It was my first time here and I won't forget it.

Billie Rothwell

Nice, quiet environment for brunch, however it took nearly 15 min for coffee and we watched others' meals come out who orders after us. We ended up walking out as the wait staff was professional however unattractive

Tomas Velasco

It was my friend's birthday and we ordered the goat cheese and peach salad as an appetizer. The salad was large enough to share and it was delicious. I am going to try to replicate it at home. For the main course, we had spring risotto and pan seared sea bass, both excellent dishes. We also shared a dessert, Tropical Napoleon Millefeuille, which has a mango custard, with coconut snow. The dessert had a tang to it that we were unable to identify. I would definitely come back here for a special occasion.

Peter Patterson

I was visiting with my son at family in Alexandria so the two of us sought out a fine dine place in Alexandria and came across Brabo...i looked at the menu on line, liked what I saw and we headed to BRABO which turned out to be everything we hoped for.

Matt Eason

They served me a chewy strip steak and insisted it was a ribeye. I've cooked 100s of Ribeyes I know the difference.

Len Eisenbud

Excellant Food and Service. Enjoyed it so much came back the next night.

Ryan Hand

One of the best meals I've had with skilled and attentive service. The presentation and craft were exceeded my high expectations for a place of this caliper. The wine list was fascistic and the bartender constructed what might have been the best old fashion I've ever had.

Mike Dinwoodie

Had a nice dinner last night, service was great

Branden Scoggin

The food was delicious and the view was even better! Service was good. This is a must when visiting the Old Town area.

Pete Barren

Mussel bar alert! Flatbread pizzas from the wood-fired brick oven hits the spot too. Try to catch the discounted food and drinks during happy hour. We like to sit outside on the patio when weather permits.

Sahak Loloyan

One of the best resurants in old Town.

LuVona Copeland

The food was amazing! Excellent service.

chris harris

We stopped in and had lunch at the bar. The food is always good, but on the pricier side. The bar is filled with regular clients who attend lunch there virtually every day! Seriously! This makes for interesting conversation if you just sit back and listen to all the local chatter.

Kelly Rabenstine

Very romantic upscale setting. Food was good, not great. A tad pricy, but overall it was a pleasant experience.

Kevin Kondas

The food was excellent. The staff was superb. Chef Sebastian Rondier creates wonderful meals and Valerie's service was gracious. Many thanks to all. Looking forward to seeing again soon.

Alex Sviridovsky

The 8 ounce filet mignon was more like 4 ounces and it took almost an hour and a half for our table to get our food after we ordered. The drinks were delicious but the experience wasn't worth the prices.

Charley V

New Chef Harper McClure has taken Brabo over the top! Loved the new menu and the fresh take on everything ! Wine pairings were perfect. Loved the beet salad, tuna crudo and buffalo. The food was plated beautifully and the portions were excellent. We can't wait to return to Brabo, what I would consider Old Town's best "New" Restaurant.

jakie poland

went for dinner 2 nights ago, i felt like i was in France, minus the decor i would say, but if you love mussels and steak frites i highly recommend Brabo, thanks Chef for a great evening.

Gabe Price

Only went for drinks but it was a great atmosphere

Paul Haire

The setting and service are wonderful and I enjoyed a quiet talk over dinner. I was not, unfortunately, impressed by the food. When paying over $30 for an entree with no sides I expect a much more interesting and pleasing dish. I thought perhaps I had the bad luck of hitting the Chef's night off on a Tuesday... but I ordered the Tuesday special, a Cassoulet. A Cassoulet should have character. This was unexceptional. Perhaps, by comparison, the Cassolet at the former Alexandria favorite, Le Gaulois, spoiled me for life.

syba r

amazing food and probably the nicest Chef i have ever meet. I was able to get his recipe from his famous duck a l'orange, for the ones that never tried his version I highly recommended. overall good energy, a bit loud but hey its a brasserie and i love it, definitely a great place to try.

amanda loaeb

best duck in town, will be back

Nancy burch

I had the pleasure to go back at Brabo since chef Widmaier left, I had a great time and delicious food, the gnocchi with rabbit comfit was a delicacy while my husband had the Poussin and loved it as well. we share a mussel for starters because I never had a blue cheese mussel, well I wasn't disappointed, definitely better flavors than le diplomate( I mean no offense but they still have the same fish since they have opened) overall great service as well and probably the only great brasserie in old town, see you soon Brabo.

Alex St. Clair

Just at the bar. Wine was wonderful ( as was whiskey and sauturne). Service was great. Atmosphere was very nice.

Bill Ettinger

Absolutely not a five star establishment! The service was, at best, minimally acceptable. It took forever to get a bottle of wine, then again, to get our grossly overpriced appetizers. The main courses were good. The other four at the table ordered desserts. I ordered a cup of tea which arrived as the other guests were finishing their desserts. Our waiter appeared more interested in having a discussion with the loud mouth at the next table than serving us. Oh, it took forever to get our check.

joan gonzalez

Delicious food!Yummy Margaritas! Great staff, didn't have to wait very long to get seated, fast service.

Cassie Grey

I'm in love with this place

Andrew Wyse

Good quality ingredients, slightly more progressive menu than most of what's available in Alexandria, but that's not saying much for a city that desperately needs some fresh perspectives on fine dining. If you're in Alexandria and looking for traditional fine dining with a decent wine list, this is the ticket. If you're from a city with a more vibrant food scene, DC is a short drive/metroride away.

C DJ

After all these years Brabo still puts out good food. Service is attentive. Had grilled octopus, seabass and baked alaska. The black forest baked alaska was a little too sweet for me but it was good.

Michael Rushin

Service by the staff was great. Nigel was exceptional. The food was superb and presented extremely well.

Jennifer Andrews

Wonderful place for good eats and great service - and when it’s Restaurant Week, it’s even better! The food was delicious with impeccable service!

george lassale

we were surprised to find this brasserie on our way to old town, we never heard of it and still we have been living in DC area for some years now, my wife and I had a great time trying out the mussels, the lobster gratin with fries was also a must, the portions were generous and we feel like a good value for the quality of food and service we had. Our server Kristen did a great at explaining dishes and it shows when people care about their jobs. the Chef sebastien was able to say hi to us since we are all french, definitely a great eatery.

Timothy H

Unfortunate experience - these days there are so many spectacular restaurants. Great food is expected and just part of the experience. Disappearing pretentious waiters are unacceptable. I guess that is why I was able to get what was once an unattainable reservation with such short notice. It's a shame to see the sun go down on Brabo - fix it.

Paul Bethe

Good food and service, we saw lobster thermador on the menu but didn't try it this time.

charlie fowler

Great food but the hotel guests milling through kinda killed the vibe.

joe huntsman

lamb shank is to die for, and so is the baked alaska

lauren paccini

Great dinner for new years eve, not the best decorated restaurant but at least we had a great dinner with wine pairings, kudos to the chef and our server koopi. thanks Brabo we will be back for Valentines day

Melvin Gonzalez

Nice food and service

Terzah Horton

Great cheese tray! Was at a business meeting and had time for lunch. Went with two others and randomly picked this place along King St. Had a salad as entree and the cheese plate to give the meal some protein. All the cheeses were really good. There were four; one brie-like, a smoked cheese a blue cheese as a Stilton. Enjoyed a lot. Water very attentive.

John Belbeck

Great food, very good wines and excellent service. The staff are very good, not over the top but friendly. Our main courses were both excellent - Monk fish and Cassoulet with a shared appetiser of octopus. My dessert was wonderful- a very nice tart. Highly recommend.

Jonathan Dagle

Among the best food in Old Town, and a first rate cocktail program. Belgian-French cuisine with a modern twist. Always order a classic cocktail at the bar; Brett and Carlton are the best.

Billy Thompson

Great food. One of.the best Veal chops I have ever had.

Paul Spinelli

Octopus cooked perfectly

Mark Bobotek

Ok food and gracious service but a terrible value. $12 for a small, uninspired plate of beets. Lamb meatballs were a bit tough but tasty in a good tomato sauce.

Eldin Omi

Good time. In the tasting room, the hostess was engaging and entertaining, the waitress was gracious and considerate, and the bartender was cool and on top of her game the whole time. I'd go back just to finish my conversation at the bar. So far, nothing but good authentic service and food at Brabo.

amanda murphy

Best brasserie in the DC area, love the seabass and mussels

Norma Diaz

A friend and I had a terrific brunch at Brabo a few weeks ago, and I was curious to try their dinner. So we returned recently, and I was NOT disappointed! I ordered Arctic Char Filet, that came with baby turnip, red quinoa cake, beet greens, and a horseradish-olive oil emulsion--it was just delicious. We ordered the roasted brussels sprouts...

Perry Russ

Food less than average ... service just OK. Too expensive for what we had.

Sarah Squires

Incredible food and service! Quaint. Inviting. Breakfast delicious, look forward to trying lunch!

d 11

Step 1) Classic mussels. Step 2) The beef bourginon. Optional step) Awesome date. You're welcome.

Jeffrey Roberts

Food and drinks were awwsome!!!

Paige Rasmussen

The only thing offensive on the menu is the fernet cocktail.

Nicol Preston

Good food and spirits!

yessica cruz

I like the restaurant a lot, i went there after my massage at the Lorien and had great food with my girlfriends, great value for the prices.

David Levy

Superb meal - better than ever.

John Williams

The food was good the service was not so good I was actually disappointed with the service and it was a little bit more expensive than I thought it should have been trying to be upscale but you know that the talents there was just not there but wasn't good

ashley mitel

go for the duck and forget about everything you have tried before

Mandy Gilroy-Thompson

Very expensive

Janice Crongeyer

Delicious food EVERY time! Cocktails were on point and the service was stellar.

Makayla Allison

"If I had paid full price for the meal I would have been outraged."

Mike Katz

Reasonable food at a relatively high price.

Paige Einstein

My boyfriend and I came here for brunch on Sunday. I'm a big fan of Belgian food (my stepmother is Belgian) and have been to just about all the Belgian restaurants in the area, but this was my first time at Brabo. The restaurant has a very formal, almost cold feel to it, and the tables are unusually long making you feel very far away from your dining companion. A large group had arrived shortly before us and the restaurant seemed shot staffed. We waited about 10 minutes before someone came over to take our drink order. After we got our coffees and juice, we ordered our food, which then took about 40 minutes to come out. I think it was just bad luck that they had to serve the large group of about 10 people before us. I was excited to try their Steak Frites, one of my favorite meals, but was completely disappointed in 1) the amount of steak (maybe 3 ounces? it comes out sliced in what I'm guessing is an attempt to make it look like more) and 2) the fact that my steak was cold, like it had been sitting on the counter for 20 minutes. It was so unappetizing at that temperature I actually had them bring me a new one, which I rarely, if ever, do. When my new steak arrived, while it was warm it just wasn't very good. It seemed like a very cheap, chewy cut of steak, despite being only cooked medium. The fries, however, were excellent and I loved the trio of dipping sauces that came with them. And my boyfriend enjoyed his blueberry crepes. Despite the slow service, our waitress was actually very nice and accommodating, but there are many other Belgian restaurants in the area with better food. I'm sure glad we used a Travelzoo deal here, because that tiny, chewy steak was definitely not worth the $20 price tag.

Torey Fay

Delicious. Great service as well.

julien bajeux

what a blast!! i got to go to Brabo for dinner last tuesday evening, me and my wife got the gnocchi with rabbit and the mussels to share, then finished with the veal chop steak frite style, with a nice tomato and truffle butter, what a delicacy. the veal was like butter, definitely milk fed animal as they say. the baked alaska was the perfect end to our date, we will be back brabo, thanks chef sebastian!

Stephanie Mayes

The Tasting Room is great.... A casual retreat with a wonderful menu. The service was spot on and the food was excellent... The Salmon Tartin was Devine!!!

Edorta Gorria

Very nice brasserie in the centre of Alexandria. Lunch was really good and tasty.

Lauretta Suneborn

This place is perfection. The food is beautiful, professional, and delicious. It is art. If you want a flawless, high- class brunch, go here! The server was incredibly attentive and polite, a consummate professional. This place reminds me of the best restaurants I went to on my honeymoon. I hope to go back very soon.

Paul Blumstein

A true dining experience! A cut above the rest and we recomend it for those who know what "fine" in fine dining truly means.

Gerald Baur

Great food great service

Brian Nock

Great pizza great service Edwin was awesome

Zachary Flaus

What a wonderful Valentine's Day date with my fiance. The food was delicious and it was a great atmosphere.

Douglas Crigler

Bad attitude. Surly, uncommunicative bartender. Who cares if the food is good or not, when the staff couldn't care less.

Rodney Pinksin

Great meal, great times, great ambiance. Go for the Amish Chicken and try the mussel appetizer, or like me and my friends did go for the course menu tasting and enjoy every dish as it is brought out to you. This is by far in my top 5 restaurants in the greater Alexandria area.

David Cardona

Brabo by Robert Wiedmaier delivers an excellent French-Belgian fine dining experience. Armed with a world class wine selection and creative dishes like "boudin--stuffed Georgia quail", Brabo delivers on what you would expect from a modern fine dining restaurant. Of course no Belgian restaurant would be complete without offering mussels, and Brabo prepares and serves them up perfectly. Tip: Want to try the fare without spending the $26-$40 on a plate. Sit at the bar during their happy hour (Mon - Sat 5pm - 6:30pm & Sun 5pm-Close) and try their small plates at half price, and sip on a selection of excellent wines for $7 a glass.

The Tasting Room is fine. Getting really really good food in old Town is impossible .. there are only a couple of places that fit the bill. Brabo wouldn't stand a chance in Brooklyn, but for Old Town it's pretty good. No reservations in the Tasting Room, the flat breads are probably their best thing. The Brasserie is the slightly stuffier sister restaurant. I had some octopus served on hummus. It said so clearly on the menu. There was mention of chorizo, so I thought there would be a kick to it. It was as bad as it sounds. The octopus was perfectly cooked but it was put on a bed of cold hummus. I detected zero chorozo and was told it's in the hummus sauce thing. On the appetizers was some crostini with brisket. The brisket was also perfectly cooked. Someone in the kitchen knows how to cook meat but there needs to be some serious editing of ingredients. Octopus needed some acid..lime or lemon and some spice. Would have been much better on some couscous or orzo or even risotto. Ahh well. It was a party and there were many of us and the waiter from Hungary was great.

Service leaves something to be desired...our waiter came across as terse and apathetic. Food was ok, but pricey.

Pretty chill spot on Kings street in Old Town. $20 brunch special on Sundays caught our eye to come in. French cuisine was pretty good but my wife and I have had better. Overall pricing on the drinks and outside of the special foods can be better. We can and have bought mimosas for half the price a block away.
