Very dissatisfied. I called in to order and was greeted with "Hold please". Being given no choice, I held. After 9 minutes I am again greeted by "Hello"....I place my order abd was told 10-15 minutes. I walk in moments later since I was holding while in route and pay. I tell the wait staff of my hold time and was told yeah they had a big order...... Needless to say I will Not be back to this location and would encourage all to visit the location on Midlothian turnpike opposed to Broad Street.

The appetizer and bibimbap were great. I would liken the breading on the chicken to Billy Bread's crust. If you're a fan of light breading, this probably won't be your jam. The underlying chicken itself was good, and everyone who worked there was super friendly.

My belly is so happy! Tried this restsurant for the first time and ordered Bimbimbap. Did not have to wait because I got there right after it opened, but I imagine it gets busy later in the day. Food was delicious!

I think the place is under new ownership and food taste and service (by owner/manager) are down and price (lunch) is up. I’ve been eating here since they opened but I think I will hold up little or goto other Bonchons in the area. Reply to BonChon’s response: We will be trying again but things that happened are Usual discount wasn’t honored (which wasn’t much so no big deal) A lunch item we got was much higher price ( around $10 before to around $17 now) and less amount. A order of chicken tasted like they have been cooked while ago (but not sure just tasted different) A person who appears to be Manager/owner (Asian man) wasn’t so nice. Maybe it was just his personality but 3 people felt same.

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. The service was terrible - the staff was super cut up and unfriendly. The waiter was really rude, and treated us with scorn. The fried rice was bland and the chicken wings were the most unflavorful and oily I've ever had. Was not at all worth the cost of the dinner. Overall terrible experience - would definitely dissuade this place.

Great place for Korean food (wings particularly) as well as some other Asian flavors. Everything we've tried was very flavorful with good level of spiciness and very reasonably priced. Nice and clean ambiance and friendly attentive service. We definitely will be back.

I used to like this place, but was disgusted with my last visit. They take a RAW EGG and put it on the BIBIMBAP and claim the hot stone bowl will cook the egg It doesnt because it absorbs into the rice and other vegetables and the rice sticks to bottom of bowl anyway so yolk and whites dont touch it. Salmonella bacteria doesnt die unless 160 degrees. VERY DANGEROUS! Also so busy they did not drain grease from chicken wings properly. Used half roll of paper towels to drain grease. Through entire meal away. Waste of $33.00

The first time I visited this Bonchon with my mom, we loved it so much that we went there again only a few days later. Our first visit, we were greeted my the receptionist and were seated promptly. The server was very friendly despite how busy they were on a Saturday evening. The chicken was amazing as usual and when we asked for radishes to be refilled, he brought us a lot for free as how Korean restaurant do normally for their sidedishes. So we left a big tip and went home very satisfied. But the second time around, our experience was completely opposite. We went there during lunch time on a weekday so it was pretty empty. There were maybe 3 groups of people and we were treated differently this time. The Chinese server (I should’ve wrote his name down- maybe it was Paul or something) came off very rude in the beginning just saying “what do you want?” and I thought maybe he was having a bad day or doesn’t speak English very well? But as I observed how he treated the other groups (groups of white people), he introduced himself with a completely different tone of voice and was so friendly to them saying “what would you like for your drink sir?” (WHAT?!) I was so shocked and maybe thought that he’s a racist (is that possible? Asian hating Asians?). Anyway, my mom and I were in a bad mood because of that but we tried to brush it off thinking at least their food is tasty. When I asked for the radishes to be refilled like last time, he said he was going to charge me and walked away so I had to catch him and I told him that last time I came, they didn’t charge me and two other different servers refilled it not only once but three times for free. He then just walked away again as I’m talking and brought another worker and he asked if there any issues. At this point I don’t even know who this guy is because he just showed up out of nowhere didn’t even explain who he is and asked me what’s wrong. I explained the situation thinking maybe he’s a manager but he sounded SO incompetent that I only became more upset at this point for stupid radishes and the way we were treated differently. I calmed myself down and told him it’s fine but explained that they should have same policy and standards on services with no discrimination. I asked for the check and he said “uh...okay...” what? -_- Uh, okay then. I highly recommend this place especially if you’re Asian and want to be treated poorly by another Asian server or want to see what an incompetent “manager” looks like and want to get charged for the side dishes but we’re never coming back here.

The food is very good and the wait staff is great. But the manager, Erica, is rude and needs to be fired. She has no sense of customers service and does not know how to talk to people. The problem is not that we ordered our food early. We drove 45 miles (1 hour) to eat lunch at your location. We did not expect to be greeted with a hostile manager (Erica). You need to teach your manager how to speak to customers. I have filed a complaint with BonChon. This is not how a BonChon manager should act! I have visited BonChon in numerous states and two other countries. The Franchise is amazing both food and customer service. You have a terrible manager!

first time here walked in to look at the menu, because I heard it tastes good, wasn't too sure about the sauce that they put on the chicken, so I asked if I can try a little sample of just the sauce, he told me he wasn't sure he asked the young lady that was bagging up food,she said no out loud so unfortunately I wasn't illing to try because I did not want to order chicken with sauce on it, and then not like it.

Food was decent, service mostly attentive, smelled a little funny. Biggest issue was the temperature inside the building. It was hot outside but I was still sweating enough inside that I had to dab my forehead with a napkin. Then the hand-wipe served after the meal was heated. Blegh.

I went with my son because I love traditional Korean food and I wanted him to try it. Our server recommended that we at least try the chicken, so we ordered a small order of mixed flavors. The dishes we ordered were very good, but one bite into the chicken & both of us were amazed. It was the best chicken either one of us had ever tried. We wished we had ordered a large size of the chicken. The service was great as well. We will definately go back again & again!

BEST KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN IN RICHMOND!!! My husband and I LOVE BonChon chicken - to the point that we excessively crave it! When we first found about about BonChon, I think we went there 3 times in one week? It's just phenomenal - it has a great atmosphere, and a great wait-staff. We've been here for lunch, dinner, by ourselves, with friends, with a toddler, and they've been just welcoming and patient with our requests. The chicken is fantastic - especially if you eat it on site, fresh. We have gotten it to go and it's still good, but fresh is the way to go. This from my husband who generally will not eat chicken off the bone, but will request that we go hit up BonChon for their spicy, crisp wings and gigantic drumsticks! Their other food is also great! Kimchee pancakes, dumplings, fried rice - I think I've tried pretty much everything on their menu and haven't found anything I haven't liked! If you like fried chicken, you need to try Korean Fried Chicken at BonChon. It might just change your life. ;)

Today, I had invited my friends to eat at this restaurant. I have been telling them that we should come to this place and finally we were able to make time despite of our workload. Unfortunately, we were not treated properly by the person who serves us. It must be because some of my co-workers were just wearing normal work uniform that we felt we were belittled. Maybe he thought that we can't afford that much or we can't give a good amount of tips. Even when we asked for extra fork, the waiter told us that they gave us 7 forks already. We had to explain why we need 1 more. We didn't know that forks handling is limited in this place? I have to explain to my friends that maybe it is just a culture difference, perhaps just to make them feel better. I regretted bringing them here. We were treated with disgust.

I came here for lunch one day and had a great experience! I was seated at the bar right away and our server explained their menu and what BonChon Chicken was all about to us which was very helpful. Not only was the food delicious and reasonably priced, but the service was exceptional! My water was full the entire time and extra plates, forks, etc were brought to me without me even having to ask. I was very impressed! Definitely going to come back to BonChon!

Idk how they do it but it's great. I always get diarrhea after eating these wings but they are so worth it! Update: my stomach has gotten used to the wings so I no longer get diarrhea. :)

I was just introduced to Bonchon less than a week ago...I feel I have been deprived of an amazing delectable treat! I have now been to the Broad Street location twice this week and the Midlothian location once. The Korean style fried chicken is amazing. They fry the chicken at a lower temp to render the fat, then chill in a cooler, and finally fry at a very high temperature. The crisp crunch is like no other fried chicken I have ever had. Amazing flavor.

This place was recommended to me by a friend that I usually trust with food recommendations, not this time. The staff was great, service was fast and friendly. Based on my friends recommendation we ordered the avocado ball appetizer with half&half wings. The avocado ball was just OK, but not worth the $10 price tag. The wings were tasty but the chicken was not a good quality. They were deep fried and had very little meat on the bone. At the end of the day we paid $28 for 1 drink $2, avocado ball $10, 6 piece wings $8, and a $5 tip and taxes. Simply not worth it. The place has a 4.7 star rating out of 5, so I maybe too picky. Try it yourself.

The best Korean double-fired chicken I have had. The chicken isn't prepared in advance which means it come to the table very freshly fried and super delicious but can sometimes take over half an hour to leave the kitchen. Well worth the wait though.

Went here at the recommendation of some family members. I had never had Korean fried chicken before, but I was very impressed. It was extremely crispy and tender. I had french fries on the side, which were also hot and crispy. The hot flavored chicken was spicy, a nice contrast to the more subtle flavor of the garlic soy. Also, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was given an overview of the style of the Korean chicken and how it was prepared. Also, several people checked on me during my meal to inquire about how I heard about the restaurant and whether I was enjoying myself or needed anything. Although they are located on the other side of town, I would definitely go back again, especially to try some of their other dishes.

Excellent chicken and dining experience. We got the tokoyoki, beef sliders, Korean tacos, chicken tenders and the chicken wings. The portions for the chicken are massive. The 20 piece tenders could easily feed a family of 4 or more. The wings were huge! The breading on the chicken is so so crispy. The staff is very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. I will definitely be coming back.

Known for their twice-fried chicken, their other dishes are good too. Ordered the Udon noodle soup, extra spicy and it was very good. I've also had the fried rice, adding seafood and it was also very good. The star of the show though is the chicken. Can be ordered as wings, legs or boneless and all of the pieces are quite large. I prefer the bone-in wings rather than boneless. Can be ordered spicy or regular. Spicy has good kick without being too much. If you haven't tried this already, it needs to go on your list.

First time trying bonchon and we are from NC so we were super excited. The taste was good! We got the half and half wings and drums, pork belly buns, shumai and fries and pickled radishes. The buns were bland and the pork belly was chewy. The flavor of the chicken was really tasty but husband and I got sick afterwards. Shumai was actually pretty good. We used grubhub and they were on time. We wont order again. Maybe it's just not for us, but a lot of people i know love it.

Wow! The best chicken ever. It's hard to describe the flavor but it's fried chicken with an oriental twist. I got the spicy drums, which are full sized chicken legs and the seasoned fries. Unlike anything I've ever tasted. Will definitely be going back.

Insanely crisp fried chicken wings. The skin shatters like glass. I love the various appetizers, my recommendation is is takoyaki. The dancing Bonito flakes they top it with are worth it alone. The only downside is they only have two flavors for the chicken, both are delicious, I would prefer a bit more variety.

I love both of the sauces but the spicier one can really set your mouth on fire so I usually order half and half or the soy garlic which is delicious. Wait times are worth it. I wish that they had a larger variety of sides which are traditional Korean but not always as compatible on my palette. The locations are not the most convenient, but worth the drive.

The Salmon Avocado Ball is a MUST! I will admit salmon is not my first choice, but it's not overpowering at all. It's big enough to satisfy me as a meal, too. The fried chicken is crispy and delicious as well.

I love this place. However, the last two times I've been in for the chicken strips lunch they have been overcooked. Dry and chewy. They still taste awesome though. I love getting them half and half because both flavors are great. Not sure what happen to the cook time. I sure wish It'd go back to the way it used to be with moist chicken.

Placing my order was a very pleasant experience. The gentleman was polite and efficient. No background noise to distract him or me. I only needed to wait 10 minutes to get my food. BonChon has a clean and appealing restaurant area. A nice bar upfront. I ordered fried chicken, seasoned fries and onion rings. It did not disappoint us everything was very good. To compare it to the "other " fried chicken place with the orange dude.......10 stars for the whole experience. Surprise, I didn't have to wait an hour to get a bucket of chicken.

Awesome food and those not familiar with Korean food -- you will absolutely love Korean cuisine! This place is my new favorite Asian restaurant. And if you are not in to Asian food, try the fried chicken -- I promise you will never go to KFC again.

So you want to have Fried Chicken? Well, what's half Korean inspired American cuisine and half Fried Chicken so good that you can only get it in the south, South Korea that is. Well it's Bonchon Chicken. I have tried to find good Korean food for quite sometime. I'm not Korean, but a few members of my family are and therefore I have had the pleasure of tasting some authentic, wholesome, honest to goodness Korean fare. Bonchon takes the essence of that and simply adds a good dose of Americana to it. The starters are nice, light and can be healthy. My favorite is the salmon and avocado ball. Going further down the menu, you can get yourself a nice bit goodness by ordering the Udon Soup. Make sure to add Bulgogi and a fried egg to it, my wife and I order that every single time. No visit here would be complete without ordering the Korean fried chicken from the very nice staff. Order the Soy flavored fried chicken, close your eyes, concentrate and you will find your self transported to downtown Seoul. A great feeling indeed, so stop reading this and got get some Bonchon chicken

The chicken and seasoned fries are a must for your first visit. The wings and drumsticks are cooked perfectly and are very filling. Be warned: it takes a long time for your food to be prepared.

This is a cool not fast food fried chicken place. It serves as a great example that basically every country does fried chicken, and that Korea does it well. The prices seem a bit steep until you see how much you get. We fed our family of 4 for about $40 with chicken and a pork bun appetizer. The staff was friendly and attentive. Plan to spend between 45 minutes and an hour there. They lost a star because the building itself needs attention. The bathroom has a hole in the wall, and could use more attention, and ceiling tiles in the entryway were down.

Pleasant and attentive dining service! I was introduced to BonChon from the to-go location in the Fan/Monroe Ward of downtown Richmond so I never actually got to experience what is was like to dine in at a BonChon until I ate at this location. The servers are so sweet and the restaurant is very quaint and welcoming. As always, the food is delightful but it really is a difference experience when you can dine in. I’m so glad I made the drive :)
