My wife and I sat for 15 min, were brought a wrong drink, and left from boredom. I would say bad service, but it was more like no service. We were one of five tables on a Monday. If memory serves, the food is decent though.

I have gotten take out twice and ate in twice at this location. The spicy drumsticks are the best I have ever ate besides homemade. Twice fried makes the outside extra crispy and the inside super juicy. First time I tried the spicy sauce wings it was almost too hot but since then I have come a custom to them. Flavor and heat is just right! Crispy fries are good too...bring your own malt vingear and the meal is perfect!

This was my husband and my first time here...really a shame what happened because I can never go back after what I saw...I was at the table closest to the kitchen/ server area....a server dropped ketchup all over the floor, wiped it up with a kitchen rag and then put that SAME filthy rag that she just rubbed all over the floor on the counter where the food was coming out of the kitchen!!!! THEN, completely clueless, she moved it to the OTHER counter where the ice and drink machine was!! It sat there in a wad, staring at me and I just had to say something. This was such a horrible, disgusting health code violation that will keep me from ever going back. Who knows what else goes on in there!! Really a shame because the food was pretty good, hence the 1star review.

1st time at this particular one... and it just wasn't the same as MY Broad St spot!! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable... but just wasn't the same. They were stingy with the (brushed on) sauce. Had to ask for it two extra times to actually taste it. Will NOT be returning!!!

What was 5 Stars is now 1. If I could post zero I would. My recommendation is to order take out. I'll never give a dime as a tip there. A not very busy Fri when my GF and I show up at 7 for dinner. Literally ignored by multiple wait staff. They were more concerned with cleaning tables as opposed to saying hello... Or heaven forbid drinks. We sat in a booth for 15 minutes. Plenty of time for a greeting. Piss poor

Terrible experience, slow service, boneless “wings” were not good at all. Basically 75% batter. Water was refilled once and when I mentioned how hard the wings were to the waiter he responded by saying that’s how they come. Fries were the only redeeming factor.

I'm not typically into Asian cuisine but a friend told me I had to try the chicken. Hesitantly I did and all I can say is WOW! Easily the largest, crispiest and most flavorful chicken I've ever had. I ordered a combo that that had a mix of wings and drums....the drums are about the size of my forearm! My only complaint about this place is that it has now ruined me on chicken wings from anywhere else. Nothing compares.

This past Thursday I had a horrible experience. Not only was the breading fall off of the tenders but the flavor was wrong. I called back in and and spoke to the manager or owner that rang us up and he was rude and didn't apologize. I would advise you to visit another location. Horrible service and food quality.

Some of my favorite wings. This chain has definitely become a top three wing destination in North America for me so far. In addition to the spicy wings, today I had the Korean tacos with Bulgogi (marinated beef) and they were awesome! Ian was my server at the bar and gave great service. I can't wait to try other items on the menu.

This place is ok compared to other Bonchons I’ve been too. Good quality chicken for the area but nothing close to the big cities. The Bibimbap my wife had today was terrible, but they’re known for chicken, not bibimbap! It did however look great.

Needs a visit from corporate. I have been to four other Bonchons around the east coast, and this location much lags behind the others in food quality. The wings were soggy and the strips were either way overcooked or week-old chicken. Clean inside, though, and nice large bar.

Gigis Bibimbap closed down and we went to Bonchon for our lunch break instead hoping to find a new spot. The food looked amazing and had huge portions - I got beef bibimbap and my fiancé got the spicy chicken bibimbap... but it was tasteless. They give you an oily hot sauce as the sauce for the meal... Please make sure to request soy or fish sauce or you will be severely disappointed with the lack of flavor. Their fried chicken is okay and very overpriced. Just decent food... but very overrated.

Great hidden spot in Midlothian! Food was fresh and had great flavor. Waitress was super nice. Everything seemed clean and the ambience was great for a nice sit down. Ordered the Shrimp Shumai as starter (fried). It was very tasty. Wife had the Bonchon wrap. It was good and spicy. Nice balance. Nice toasted tortilla. I had the tacos. They were great and filled me up way more than expected! Slightly spicy and very fresh tasting. Raw onions were good, but I would avoid if you're not into that.

I also visited the Broad Street location twice before this one opened and have now been here two times for dine-in and once for carry-out. The chicken is enough to keep me coming back... It is twice fried (once to keep the juices in and again to make it OH SO Crispy! The soy-garlic is yummy and mild and the spicy is SPICY! So moist and crunchy at the same time. The kim-chi fried rice and seasoned fries--with the spicy dip--are good sides with the chicken. Also nice to have a full service bar because a cold beer is another good accompaniment to fried chicken! I'm hopeful that the service will improve. Mine has been average both times I've dined in. I'll give them a few more chances to get it right!

The wings are exceptional! I dream about these wings. I believe they are double fried and so the wings are very crispy. The other Korean offering are pretty good as well. The service is fast and attentive. The only issue I have is that the decor is a bit plain/non existent.

Best double fried chicken out there, can come either Soy Garlic or Spicy, But Soy Garlic is hands down the Best. Appetizer started wise, their shrimp shumai and salmon avocado ball and takyoki is best. This is a Korean restraint, and they do have some authentic dishs like Bull Dam, Tteokbokki and bibimbap. Japcbae and house fried rice are great dishes. No kids meal, but they do have Happy Hour at their Bar everyday where they habe a few $1items you can munch on while you drink.

Would leave 0 stars but 1 is the minimum. Completely unsatisfied with experience. Extremely long time for food. Waitress came to take drink order and left. 10 minutes later a different Waitress came and re-took the drink order. 5 minutes later first Waitress came back to check on drinks and told us her assistant would bring our drinks and apologized for the delay taking 10% off our bill. Took a total of 20 minutes to get drinks. Then brought out dirty forks and plates. Appetizers weren't brought out until chicken was brought which were then cold 40 minutes after taking the order. Chicken was nothing near the bonchon on West broad where I normally go. Fried rice came out wrong and I wasn't waiting to have that remade. $62 for horrible service and food.

Avoid this one and make the drive to the Broad St. location. Service was awful and the food was terribly oversauced/overoiled. This was my wife's first time going to Bon Chon and I'm not sure I could even convince her to go to the Broad St. one now. My drink sat empty for 20 minutes and the waiter didn't ask if I wanted a refill until after I was done eating and he cleaned my plate. My wife's fried rice was DROWNING in oil. Very disappointing.

Bonchon on midlo has to be one of the best restaurants in the richmond area, the food is sublime and the service is outstanding. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. This is definitely one of my favorite spots and I love it and I am sure once your family tries it or just you by yourself you will fall in love with it. Bonchon is an amazing experience for lunch and dinner. And I definitely recommend it for you.

Long story short; Just go to the West Broad location. We've eaten at this location before but decided to give it a second chance. First impression was that the place was entirely empty at 11:30 AM on a Sunday. The one on West Broad always has customers. Not exactly a great sign, but whatever. It was Super Bowl Sunday so we chalked it up to that. We sat ourselves and noticed the partition separating the tables was disgusting. Finger prints and smudges everywhere. On top of that, they had just taped up flyers for "Super Bowl III" (??? Is it 1969?) and no one noticed how gross the partitions were. A little weird. What else is that dirty? But not a dealbreaker. We order our drinks and food, no sweet tea is available at that time. Water will do. In my opinion, the takoyaki is the best app (plus I looove takoyaki). It came out room temperature, almost cold. Takoyaki is supposed to come out blazing, molten hot. We decided to think positively, "Maybe they got complaints about it being too hot and let it sit for a little while?" But why not just tell the table that their food is really really hot? The takoyaki were good, just disappointing. Next, fries came out. At least those were perfect (def recommend those). Then wings came out. I had asked for no sauce on mine (Korean fried chicken is about being crispy, not necessarily the sauce). I realized a little late that sometimes Korean fried chicken needs salt (none on the tables) so we waited for the waiter to come by. It took awhile and my boyfriend had to go find him but we got the salt. I was expecting a salt grinder or a little pinch bowl. But I was given ... a little snowman salt shaker...? ...... .... Moving on.... I have no clue what happened to the radish (we love radish bonchon!). It's like it was just soaked in water, a tiny bit of vinegar and absolutely no salt or sugar. It didn't have any flavor at all. I suppose all the salt they had was being conserved in this tiny snowman. Lastly, we paid and asked to split the bill in half and pay with cards. We got our individual bills and noticed the tip guide at the bottom of the bill wasn't cut in half. Had we not been paying attention, we would've tipped 40% on a lackluster meal. I'm not sure if they're aware their bills aren't cutting the tip% in half for split checks but it definitely comes across a little shady. So if you're looking for sauced chicken wings (but only TWO kinds of sauce...) and fries, this place is pretty good. But there are dozens of American wing places nearby that do it a little better. Why advertise being an Asian themed wing place when all the Asian dishes are awful? Their name is Bonchon, which literally means "Korean side dish" and they screwed up our Korean side dish. You might eat here and think, "Wow, Bonchon as a whole sucks" BUT the one on West Broad knocks everything on their menu out of the park. There's a HUGE difference between the quality of that location and this one. The West Broad location's food is great and the staff is attentive and friendly. So basically, nothing huge went wrong here but a lot of weird/disappointing small things happened. Definitely won't be coming back. I'd rather drive an extra 30 minutes for good Korean chicken or just go somewhere else.

Service here is quite lacking as of 6/29/16. The fact that I had to ask the hostess for plates and silverware 5 minutes AFTER we received our food definitely leaves something to be desired Also, why are the portion sizes so small compared to the BonChon restaurant on Broad Street? It's like the two locations aren't even the same restaurant. Overall, if you're looking for a true BonChon experience I would recommend the West Broad location over this one.

I would agree with a previous review. This place needs a visit from corporate. I’ve been eating Bon Chon for years and this one falls flat. Wings aren’t up to par with the Bon Chon quality. Save the time and go to a different location. Mechanicsville is new and makes their wings crunchy and they’re a good size. I’ve never gone wrong with the W Broad location either.

At Bonchon, you can eat nice, crispy chicken wings, Asian style, with Edemami, and any other type of Asian cuisine, the service is great, the have a nice bar, and the atmosphere is cozy without all that loud music.

My family and I really enjoy their food (particularly the Korean fried chicken). It is definitely offers unique flavors we had not experienced prior to finding this place. The staff has always seemed very friendly; however, we've experienced slow service both times we've visited despite going at less crowded times. Part of it may just be that the food prep takes longer, but we consistently have to track down staff to get refills (and other condiments) after waiting for extended periods of time. Regardless, it will not stop us from dining here. Definitely worth a visit.

Went at 430 pm on a Sunday afternoon and the place was practically empty. I sat at the bar and my service was fantastic. On to the food, these wings are fantastic. So crispy and flavorful. I love them. The fries are normally very crispy by this time they were a little super. Either way still great. You will not regret getting wings here.

I'm a big fan and frequent diner of the Broad St. BonChon location, so when I heard another restaurant was opening up near home I was excited. I visited the new location with some friends and was disappointed. Although they share the same menu, their chicken strips and wings are anything but the same. Where as the Broad St. BonChon offers diners generously sized strips and wings the Courthouse Rd. location chooses to do the opposite. We ordered 20 strips to split amongst us and received what could only be described as a flattened chicken breast that was cut into 2.5-3 inch pieces that shriveled up when fried. This was a huge contrast to the 5-6 inch thick strips offered at the Broad St. location. Now this it self isn't huge negative until you realize you're paying the exact same price for less. Not sure what was the driving factor for this decision, but I can't say I recommend dining at this location especially if you are accustomed to the BonChon on Broad St.

Service and atmosphere were wonderful. Waitress was knowledgeable and food came out quickly, the 3 stars are for the bibimbap we had. All the items were well cooked(rice and tofu, meat) but absolutely no flavor I think the sides they are using are the problem honestly, usually with bibimbap I like to mix up the toppings and they all tasted old/canned? I'm not sure. Will definitely try again as I've heard good things about the wings, just wouldn't get their traditional Korean dishes

We are regulars at this place. Absolutely love everything we tried, especially the chicken wings, japchae and the seasoned fries. We usually get the wings half spicy/half soy to balance the heat and the sweet, then add fries and it's a party! I could eat the fries all day long... The service is A+ too, always a pleasant experience - Bill and Barbara are simply awesome!

I just want to say. This was the worst shrimp fried rice I ever taste. It's sweet, I've never had sweet fried rice and I just wanted a side but I was told I had to get the rice separate from my chicken. So to me it was over priced sweet rice and I was not impressed. Please be aware.
