I did not visited blue pearl buffet for 4 years because at the time it was running down. When my husband and I recognize the parking lot of blue pearl started to be always full, we decide to come to try it out again. What a transformation I got to say. Good food and good service which is not like before. I got to say we were pretty content and kids loved it.

So me and my husband ate here tonight and I'm not going to lie it was pretty gross. I love sushi and by no means do i expect 5 star sushi at a buffet but i do expect it to be relatively fresh, seeing as it is RAW! The raw Fish over top the rice was dry and hard. They replaced one of the trays so i went back up got one piece only to find out that the new tray of sushi was also DRY! The crab was so overcooked it stuck to the shell. The mussels were dry and cold. The seaweed salad was slimy, bland and left a strange after taste. We paid $30 for a small selection of disgusting food. How this place is still open is beyond me.

One of the worst buffets I've eaten at. I was there at 7pm on a Wednesday and none of the hot items were actually hot, but rather warm to cool. The quality of the food was very poor, the deserts were stale.. A very small crowd should have been my indicator to not try this place. I was very disappointed

Great selection of traditional dishes to choose as well as some items I have never seen on a buffet like pig feet and duck. Everything I got was great. I even had them cook Teriyaki Chicken for me at the Vietnamese Soup Bowl station. About $15 per person, but well worth it if you take advantage of all of the different choices you have. Highly recommended!!

Little crowded, little classy and a bit crude talk. I told an older couple they should take that talk to a bar. The Hibachi cook offers three different sauces to cook your foods on the grill yet there's a block so hearing him is a challenge. Foods on the buffet where good choices but didn't have a nice taste like expected (onion rings and potatoes) though the meats always came out tasty. This place has some indoor charming landmarks they want you to choose for a group. The restaurant (mostly Asian patrons) is in Springfield near of that indoor mall. I've seen this place for years this is my first time eating here.

The food quality for the price is what you expect. I kind of miss the Old Glory Days of American buffets or Chinese food buffets. When you had good quality for good prices, but it just seems like those days are gone. The sushi is low grade quality and isn't very good, abd there's only a handful of items worth eating. I don't really recommend this place but if you need some Buffet this is one of the only few places around to get it.

1 star is too generous. This place was AWFUL.... Most of the food was either cold or burnt and tasted like fish.. The waiter was picking his nose in the middle of the dinning room when he thought no one was looking then proceeded to grab CLEAN plates and take them to the plate station. NO. He did not wash his hands. The staff was rude. The place was dirty... Just YUCK.

There is a variety of Asian food here and my favorite is the crispy shrimp. Over time they've gotten rid of some dishes I liked but it is still worth coming here once in a while. Load up on main courses because the dessert section is lacking

Great selection, including sushi, dumplings, bao, seafood, meat entrees, salads and desserts. I tried a little bit of everything, with barley tea, and was pretty satisfied. The only thing I'd stay away from are the cold cuts, and the fried seafood tends to be rubbery.

This place is not worth even one visit to. I went yesterday with my boyfriend to check out the place for the first time and saw that a lot of unsavory and mostly uninteresting food dishes and items were overcooked and lying out on the buffet line for quite some time, in addition to being super-oily. $14 per person is a bit much for being able to pick only a few items out that would pass muster. Plus, the service was meh, could be better, but I still gave a good tip anyways (more than 15%) for the delays in used trays being taken away and lack of eye-contact. What was worse than the bad food and service is the food poisoning that I got at 1:37am the next day which caused me to almost not show up for work. However, luckily, I was able to recover from it in time. But food poisoning on the first trip to a restaurant? That's a big no-no for any experience. That is my first and LAST trip to this place.

I cant believe the hate on buffet, Blue Pearl Buffet is great! I highly recommend it. There customer service is great and the drink refills are quick. The restaurant is very clean and the selection of food is great! I had a party last night here and it was fantastic. I highly recommend eating here if you love seafood and the variety of food!

Am here with my girlfriend, and between the two of us, the only things we found at the correct temperature was the tea, pineapple, and the one piece of dessert I had. Dumplings, rice, fried rice, orange chicken, shrimp, and clam were all significantly cooler than expected, even when it had just come out. Aside from the temperature, most of my food did taste right. But we expected a lot more to be correct, even coming in around 7pm.

It wasn't terrible....but also not what I expected. I was looking for Chinese food (sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls, honey chicken, or even teriyaki) and they did not have any of this. Disappointed because we paid almost $30 just to eat fried rice. However, they did have Ham, fries, sushi, and a lot of other random things.

We went for Sunday lunch. The place was packed. Pay up front before you are seated. Be sure to leave tip afterwards though - just can't bring myself to tip before i am seated. There is a big selection inclyding shrimp, baby clams, and whole crabs. There is a made to order grill as well as a Pho made to order. $15 per person. Right in the heart of Springfield VA. I will go back.

I believe that the comments here are doing injustice to the restaurant. There are many types of sea food. I don't go regularly, but its food is one of the best comparing to other restaurants in the area. The shrimp, Sushi, and other meals are so good. The restaurant is full with people on weekends, but there is always empty tables, because it is not a small restaurant.

If you're looking for an American Chinese buffet ( egg rolls, sweet and sour chicken, crab Rangoon) then you may want to skip. This is authentic Chinese food. Lots of soups, fish and Chinese style cooking. The amount of Chinese and ethnic people eating there shows that it's the real thing. Try a little of everything!

I think their specialty is fish and they also served up pizza, sushi, and lots of salad! When we were there, at the restaurant was pretty full, but there was still no problem at all finding a table. We were able to walk-up to the buffet stations and peruse the various food options. There wasn't anything of short supply from what I could tell, and there was a busy employee keeping everything stocked-up. I went for the steamed shrimp and seafood afredo two times and it was delicious. I believe I made about three trips to the buffet, not counting the wonderful desert. Our Server was great and she came around a couple of times to see how the food was. You usually don't get that type of service at most buffets.

My boyfriend and I came here for dinner about 7pm on Columbus Day. It was moderately busy, but most of the food looked and tasted like it had been sitting for a long time. The sushi was dry and hard, and even the clam which I got about 10 minutes after seeing an employee refill the pan tasted strange and was lukewarm at best. The traditional chinese food (the main attraction for me) was often either overcooked (squid, founder) or undercooked (chicken dumpling) and was all significantly cooler than it should have been. The only item I enjoyed was the tea, which tasted like it was brewed from a bag. Even the fortune cookie at the end was stale!

Went here for my birthday and LOVED it!! Not only did they have a lot of the common items you would find in most Asian/American buffets but they also had a lot of more unique and harder to find items like sesame buns or taro steamed buns. They had lots of good seafood and a great sushi bar. They also had some awesome customizable pho bowls. Overall this is definitely the best buffet I've ever been to. Beats Golden Coralle by a landslide. Would definitely recommend and it's not that pricey either. Loved it.

Place is okay. For the most part waiters and waitresses are okay. Although, some will tell you that certain things are not on the menu when they are. So double-check with management. Be a wise stewart. This part of the review is based upon one night, when we went in an hour before closing. Not much displayed for eating, (at least nothing appealing to me) nor can you get anything at the grill, it closes an hour prior. Yet they charge us full price. Disappointing to say the least. My family likes to place. I on the other hand will not eat there again.

There was an enormous abundance of food, Chinese, Japanese, Mongolian, among others. Much of it was fried. Many things looked better than they tasted. Sadly, most of it seemed so-so at best. I think this might be good for a large group -- and there were many large groups there already -- because of the variety of food choices. Food was refilled frequently. Drinks were also refilled as needed. Lots of dessert choices, too. The staff was friendly and helpful.

I live in Southern Maryland, but make the trip to a local international market a few times a month. When I do, I typically have lunch here; the prices are great, they're the only Chinese buffet I've literally ever been to that serves steamed meat buns, and the servers are always on-the-ball. It tends to get crowded at night, and given the arrangement of the fixtures, this makes getting around challenging. But midday, when it's foot traffic is lighter, it's great. Definitely recommend!

This place is the reason buffets get a bad name. I got SO sick from this place! I threw up approximately ten times in a period of ten hours and was considering going to the hospital but fortunately I recovered. I ate several things that looked shady so it's hard to speculate which item was the exact cause, (though it was probably the muscles or the calamari).

This can't even be considered real food.. I think they raided garbage cans from other Chinese restaurants scooped it into large vats added a bucket of salt and threw it onto the buffet line. I am sitting here typing this review after eating at this Buffet today and my stomach feels like an Ancient Chinese Demon is liquefying my insides and is going to burst out of my Anus whilst clinging onto my Kidney. There was so much salt in the food that I think I now have Atrial Fibrillation, my heart is beating out of my chest and my head is pounding. Dear lord at all costs if you value your life stay away from this place, it just isn't worth dying from Salmonella or Botulism.

We went at night 1 hour before closing and they had closed the kitchen already and were letting the food that was out run out slowly. So there wasn't any thing edible out. Everything I tried tasted like it had been sitting out all day. The fried shrimp turned to mush while trying to peel them and other things were cold and bland.The 10% discount we received wasn't enough to make up for the terrible meal.

Small food selections, cold food, not worth the price. I did a twirl in one spot and looked around, only to be disappointed with the small selection of food. The only good thing to eat is the egg tarts. The grill section needs to put their raw ingredients in the fridge or something, because they are just displaying raw shrimp and chicken with (presumably) no coldness to keep it from going bad. Maybe there is ice underneath the trays, but my plate of chicken and shrimp smelled bad, like they are going bad. At least the servers were very nice and professional. Food were for the most part cold and hard. I had this fish dish that was rock hard, cold, and too sweet. Beware when you come here.

(They have a good selection of seafood and traditional Chinese food plus other things like pizza and fried chicken). Very authentic. I think that it was priced a little high for the quality of food that we got. Its a good place to go if there were no other restaurants in the area. I dont think I would eat here again but it is a very interesting place. Maybe the best part was the pre-recorded "Happy Birthday" song. And thats about it.

1st of all u have to pay before u can eat, How do i give tips for stuff when i don't know how ur restaurant is ? 2nd of all the stuff are so rude and disrespectful 3rd of all they use a tricks by providing shrimp with the shell/skin so that people eat less ..thats really cheap business thinking.. 4th of all the food is not that satisfactory.. After all i wanna say they should change theese thing...

I was there today and noticed that they over cooked on lots of stuff and the mushrooms from the stir fry place were so dirty, you can see dirt clearly on them... very disappointed I used to go there all the time

This was a disappointing visit. Most of the food I grabbed, even off the warming dishes was cold. Sushi rolls had been out long enough that the rice had hardened and the wasabi was drying up. Didn't even finish my meal unfortunately and left.

I have tried this Buffet 4 times in 3 years this place four time should be shut down. The food is cold,it tastes old.The fresh food grill should be great food it is tasteless and it tastes like an old dirty gritty grill. The staff act like they are prisoners. stay away

Very disappointed with this restaurant; I got there around 4pm, and most of the food was cold. The only good thing was the Pho, everything else was cold and nasty. The staff was polite but the food was bad. Will definitely not go here again.

One star is way too many. Lots of the food was cold. Weird smell and taste to some of the food. Tried going american food . French fries were hard and cold. Mac-n-cheese noodles over cooked, potatoes are instant. 4 of us for dinner and we paid $59 and change. Had to find something. Salad, who can do that wrong, right? Wrong. Ranch dressing was sour, only vegetables for salad was lettuce with carrot shreds in it, cucumbers and whole big radishes bigger than golf balls. Top it off no regular tea. Only lemon tea. Horrible.

. Our family of 5 who were visiting the city in search of purchasing a home asked hotel staff to recommend chinese buffet. Google search showed Blue Pearl close proximity so we went. We hated the food. Recommend you see what is on the buffet before eating because traditional Chinese food buffet items were very limited. I ended up going to the stir fry bar to have them cook my meal which was ok. We left there with our stomachs on "E" and went to Wendy's afterwards.

Food taste is horrible.. I can't understand how this place was rather busy. The dining room is crowded and space between people is so limited. We we're rubbing backs with the neighbor table. 42.00 totally wasted on dinner for 2adults n 2 children.

For better or for worst, one of the last standing buffets in the Springfield area. Standard fare for a Chinese buffet. They also offer Pho. Nothing special overall. Good amount of seating and parking can seem limited sometimes but it can be extended into the bank's parking next door.
