REVIEWS OF Bistro L'Hermitage IN Virginia

Tom Conway

By far the best restaurant in Occoquan. The food is downright spectacular and the wine list is amazing. The champagne risotto is absolutely out of this world. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth every penny. Great place for any special occasion. It is loud and crowded though, not particularly intimate.

Logan Winkler

Incredibly friendly staff and excellent service. The atmosphere is upscale but not stuffy. You cannot order a disappointing dish here.

Mark Volzer

One of the best meals I've had in a long time. Took my wife for Valentine's Day. Incredible food. Great service. The owners were so nice. Excited to come back. Lobbed this place.

Timothy Elliott

We had our wedding reception here back in October of 2014, was amazing!!! They make you feel like your in another world, they treat you like royalty, staff is amazing and so kind and hard working. Food........can't even put into words how delicious their entrees are, our friends and family still to this day talk about how incredible the food was. They even had their own pastry chef make our wedding cake for us and was amazing!! One of the best restaurants we have ever been to in our lives!!

Rebecca Cooper

This place is good, but not as amazing as some of the reviews make it seem. We had the crab cake, Onion soup, and calamari for apps and halibut and pork for our entree. It was all very good, but not amazing. If I’m spending that kind of money, I want the food to be amazing. I prefer the chef at Secret Garden and the food is half the price. On the plus side, the atmosphere is quaint and cute and the servers are very professional and are on top of their game! They have cute restrooms too!

Mary Kay O'Brien

To die for. Just awesome.

Anthony Mujica

Wonderful restaurant. The food, wine, and service are great!

Barbara Malm

How do you know if you have an incredible meal? You are still talking about it the next day. I started with the potato leak soup, which was outstanding. I had the special - veal with crab stuffed shrimp and parmesan polenta. Fun evening with friends. I can’t believe it took us so long to find this spot. Highly recommend.

Courtney Walcott

Such a charming gem right in Occoquan. The staff is top notch, the food is spectacular, and the drinks are delicious! Their French martinis are my favorite, definitely a must try if you haven't had them. A wonderful spot to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, or a date night. You absolutely will not regret dining here, definitely worth every penny.

Katelyn Hagen

Phenomenal! Best service we’ve ever had! Incredible food! This is definitely our new date night spot.

Janet Keim Luppino

Completely charming find for a delightful brunch! Wonderful service and food. Charming slightly kitschy French decor. The escargot and mussels were wonderfully seasoned and presented. Salads were great and appropriately lightly dressed. Trout and eggs Benedict were tasty. Friendly, helpful service. What a great little gem!

Joseph Reney

Superb experience! My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here and it truly is a hidden gem. The ambiance, service and food are top notch. However, it's super expensive. This is a once a year venture for us middle class types :P. Enjoy!

Grant Fisher

This place is a hidden gem that my parents have known about for almost a decade now. I'm pretty upset that this is my first experiance, I feel betrayed. Amazing food, amazing people, amazing atmosphere!!! 4 thumbs up (if I had that many) - Grant

I've wanted to eat here for quite some time now and wish that I had sooner! The atmosphere is kitschy and quaint, the service was exceptional, and the food was phenomenal! I was there last night and think that I'm going to return this Saturday!

Ginette Cain

You can't eat any better or find better service in the DC area. Try anything on the menu, and please try the bread. No where is there comparable bread except Paris.

Nicole A. Watson

Excellent service and well prepared dishes.

Patricia Melendez

Very comfortable experience. Lovely place, lovely people. Food was amazing, I ordered the Salmon, starting with their Ceasar Salad ending with their Chocolate mousse dessert. My partner had rare Steak which was cooked beautifully!

A fine French hideaway in one of the last places you'd expect! Find it and between the service and cuisine you'll certainly never lose it again!

Tsion Abraham

The food is tasty, the service is great and celebrating my birthday in style at this French bistro was classic. Loved everything.

Ali B

Amazing ambiance, well-trained, attentive staff. Perfectly prepared leg of lamb, served with complementary sides. Delicious dessert trio. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Tomica Dyer

My favorite place for great service, food, drinks, did I say Food and Service. EXCELENTE

Rita Boyakhchian

A busy night but I made reservations. Quite noisy, loud talk and laughter. Waiters a bit stressed but as it calmed down it was quite lovely. Very professional waiters. The French cuisine of my choosing was to die for. Loved every bit that I had. An almost religious experence.

Susan Wessolleck

Just went there for dinner for the first time. It was delightful. The food was excellent and the staff is so friendly. We will be going back and recommending to friends.

Danny Rothstein

Amazing food, amazing service, amazing comfort.

Just Blaze

My waiter was awesome!

Paul Alexander

Many of these Chefs used to work at Bistro Francois in Georgetown that opened in 1975, after the Main Man retired some of these Gifted Chefs came here to work, that is why this establishment has Been rating in the top 10 restaurants in DC metro area. Anyway the Onion Soup is really different. So eat at the bar or get a table the food and service is outstanding.

Christopher R. DiNote

In addition to the outstanding food, the staff really go out of their way for you. Excellent place.

Rob Johnson

The food and service is Amazing!

Ai Johnson

This French restaurant is fantastic. It looks like someone’s house from outside so I passed it when I went there for the 1st time. My daughter who is a great foodie told me about this place. Their review was very good so I went. Every time I go, it was packed with people and I’ve never been disappointed with anything I ordered. I recommend going there by 5 pm so it’s not too many people. By 7 pm, it get packed. Weekend reservation is tough so you need to reserve in advanced for weekends. But you won’t regret it. Servers are fantastic professionals and food is out of world. Keep a room for dessert!!

Cyrus Crane

If you're enjoy traditional francophone restaurants, you just found a great one. I had never ate at a French restaurant in the United States before, but have been to many in France as well as other francophone countries in Europe (as I don't live in the United States), and this was a very very good representation of what you would get at a good restaurant in France from the food to the decor, wait staff, drink choices, etc. There are even a few members of the staff who speak French if you do as well. The food was fantastic of course. There is really nothing negative to say about this restaurant. The prices are even just a tiny bit less than what the exact same food and drinks would cost in France. A restaurant that needs to be checked out if you are anywhere near it.

Bruce Jacobs

fantastic restaurant, not to be missed. Outrageous food that is magnificently prepared.

Cassandra Kimbrell

Food is great but atmosphere is not. My husband and I made reservations hoping to have a nice date night. They first tried to sit us in a corner, sharing a booth with another family. We asked to move. They again sat us in an area with tables inches apart from Others- again sharing a booth. It was loud. We couldn't hear each other. Everyone Could hear our conversation. Not a good date night. They need to take out some tables and add to their ambience instead of trying to Make the most money.

Daniel Walczuk

We celebrated an anniversary dinner tonight and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves again. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed and appreciated as customers. Carlos was our lead waiter and he and three others keep a discreet watch over on us. They didn't visit us that was disturbing to our conversation or our meal but enough to know if we needed anything they would take care of us. The French Onion soup is the best that I have eaten. The salad was fresh delicious and even looked wonderful. My wife had the salmon again, and I had the roasted chicken, again.. My chicken was cooked to perfection and my wife loved her salmon. Thank you for appreciating us and making us feel special every time we have dinner with you.

Fox V

Don’t believe the hype. I rarely write reviews but this may be the worst restaurant I’ve been to in my life. We went for our anniversary and made the mistake of going based on the rave reviews. The risotto was essentially instant mashed potatoes with rice mixed in and topped with a garnish. The salad was wilted and slimy and just plain gross. And the steak! Steak is pretty hard to mess up if you have a good cut. All you need is salt and pepper, but they excelled at making it bland and over cooked. We ordered medium rare and what we received were two pieces of freezer burned jerky that had been microwaved and were probably from a Hungry Man frozen meal. The bill came out to be about $150. The “ambience” of low light left us to use our phones to read the menu. The decor is dated, incredibly dusty and extremely loud to the point that we could barely speak to each other. We ended up extremely disappointed and picking up pizza from Padrinos (r.i.p. insanely good). If you’ve never lived or traveled outside of Woodbridge and have never had a gourmet French meal then you will love it. Please save your money and take the trip to Bastille in Alexandria so you can experience a proper delicious French meal. If I could rate this as negative, it would be negative infinity. Just don’t waste your time or money.

Brehon Gregg

I personally have not been here but pass by this place everyday from my commute to work. Doing a little research it's best to make reservations ahead of time if you plan on eating at this fancy establishment. If you're interested I would recommend taking a look at the online menu. Such a fantastic selection to choose from.

Raffie Gevorgian

Literally every item on the menu is exceptional. Thank you

Hilda R

Food and service was great

Stacy W. Forbes

We went to celebrate my wife's birthday. We were blown away by the amazing service and menu. The food was 6 stars. Délicieux! Thank you staff for remembering it was my wife's birthday! We will be back.

Jenn

Compliments to the chef! Accommodating to a birthday party of 18. The service was fantastic as the food was unforgettable with an array of wine selections. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection and the lobster oscar was full of flavor. A new take on fine dinning. This place beats Morton's or Ruth's Chris by far. Note: allergies? They also accommodated to butter allergies.

Randy Mathews

Another great meal at this gem in Woodbridge! Service and food unmatched within 50 miles! If passing through the area, well worth the visit!

Rob Kann

Great food, outstanding service. And, between 5 and 6 PM, they offer 3 courses for $45 (with some limits on what you can select). This is a terrific place for a special occasion.

Carlos Issac

Got there early and was treated like I owned the place. Friendly, professional server. Atmosphere was charming, varied menu, and food was well prepared.

Tyler Copan

Incredible service and food. Great for a special occasion!

Zakieh Shirafkan

Very clean. Friendly staff. Quick service. We got the rotisserie chicken which was fresh and delicious.

David Pacheco

One of best burgers I have had

Patricia H

Traditional French and American dishes, wonderfully prepared and so delicious. We are always pleased with the great food, drinks, and the stellar service. The manager/owner is friendly and engaging. Great atmosphere!!! Cozy, lush and a bit quirky. (Not crazy about the choice of music though.. Wish they’d switch it up a bit with some instrumentals. Just saying..)

Letisha Giggetts

Amazing service and food. I definitely recommend this place!!!!

Molly Barr

Amazing food and the decor is pretty unique. Didn’t even know that place was there.

Isaac Jacinto

Wow!!! Speechless. Amazing food, atmosphere what more can you ask for. Will be coming back.

Kate Green

Absolutely amazing! Food was wonderful, authentic and delicious! Service was spectacular. Highly recommend Bistro L'Hermitage to anyone, especially the 5 course meal! Living in Europe for years this was like a flash back to that way of life. Thank you for a fabulous experience.

gabriel sanchez

Excellent French cuisine. The lobster, steak, and pork chop were amazing. Prices and portions were reasonable. I recommend this place to celebrate any special occasions or if you just want to enjoy great food.

John Workman

As always the Service,Food and Atmosphere is 2nd to none. One of our favorites. Highly recommend for any Occasion and especially special occasions. Want to be treated like royalty and eat like it this is the place.

Chris M

Bistro L'Hermitage does a pretty decent job of bringing the French countryside fine dining experience to Occoquan. Our server had a French accent and addressed us as "mademoiselle" and "monsieur," though his name was Carlos, according to the receipt. We live in the Woodlawn area of Alexandria and figured we'd try something to the south rather than always dining in Old Town. This is a good restaurant for sober adults to enjoy a nice, quiet evening. Don't bring your kids. Nothing against children-I have many of them-but this is not the place. Wear something nice, and let them check your coat. At first I laughed at their sign, "graciously asking that all guests check their over coats in order to maintain the ambiance of the room," as we did. But as the evening went on and bright colored Colombia sportswear and sheepskin-lined denim jackets took over the seatbacks, I saw their point. The wine list was impressive, though there were no bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon on their "under $55" menu. We opted for a $69 bottle of Estancia, a typical $25 Cab-Merlot blend. With the house wines starting around $12 per glass (and they are not liberal pours, from what I saw), if you're going to have two glasses each, you might as well get the bottle. Kind of odd that you can get a single-malt Scotch for the same price as the house wine. There were plenty of reds in the $50 range (Malbec, Cab Franc, Bordeaux), but my wife wanted Cab Sav (or at least a blend). The lobster bisque was a thin, and lacked any trace of lobster meat. My wife's sea scallops were excellent, well-seared. They let her substitute risotto for the potatoes. The risotto needed salt, but this is the kind of place where only the chef is allowed to season the food. Bring your own salt and pepper if you're into that. My Red Snapper was fair. It had a few bones, and wasn't a particularly large portion. I was still hungry afterward. So much so that we ordered dessert, which we never do. The apple tart was enjoyable, and enough to share. The couple next to us had steaks. If you're hungry, I recommend the beef filet. I can't comment on the quality of the cut, but it was certainly enough to fill you up. The menu had the filet listed as "market price" as if their cows are caught in the wild at unpredictable rates. Overall, I'd say it was a nice dining experience. It wasn't quite worth $100+ per head (including tip), but it's unlike anything else around. The ambiance is worth something (as long as you don't mess it up with your Redskins jacket). We'll probably be back for special occasions, but next time I'm getting the steak!

David Phillips

Excellent food and service but you pay for it

Ashley Ruffead

I was disappointed by this place. The 4.8 stars on Google and a personal recommendation got me excited, but the meal was just good. I had the duck and my boyfriend had a steak. The pear tart was also underwhelming; we did like the white chocolate mousse but it was a special so it won't always be on the menu. Unfortunately for this restaurant we had been to an French place in Old Town one month earlier and also had duck and steak, and that meal was amazing and the prices were on-par with this restaurant. Service here was great - the staff are friendly and attentive. The rating is for the food that had me disappointed; for the price we paid the food should have been way better. If you do go, get the Foie gras - that was the one dish that was worth it.

Felix Amaro

If you seek excellent dishes, prepared with utmost cooking details seek no further. This restaurant is great, with great taste.

Scott Woosley

This place always has spot on food and good wine selection. My date and I enjoyed popping in for a last minute dinner and drinks.

Linda Atkinson

A wonderful place for a special occasion. The atmosphere, decor, food and service are all top notch.

Jose Diaz

What an amazing place. The staff was super professional friendly. Food was outstanding. Love everything about this place. Will recommend to others. And will be attending again. Wish i could give it more than 5 stars.

keith johnston

Traditional French food with some twists. Everything we had was delicious. Great place for celebrations. Good atmosphere. Attentive service.

Peter Johnson

Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Price was moderately high. Reservations for dinner were out 3 weeks. I very much enjoyed the ambiance and the experience. If you are a francofile you must go.

Idalia Bonita

Amazing service

Han E

We have eaten here a couple of times over the years. It remains to be one of our favorite local restaurant. It has been consistent over the years. We do wish that they charge the menu during the year, maybe to the season or regions in France. All in all, they are good and is a local gem.

amy gravis

Are used to love this place and would love to give it five stars but my last experience was beyond horrible. Our server was so rude he ignored us most of the time and not only that he almost cut me with the knife because he wasn’t paying attention when grabbing it off the table. I love the place but the service is horrible especially with that one server.

Chris Green

Very quite and enjoyable place

Fred Williams

Wonderful food and service, hidden away

brad lewis

Great experience! My wife and I had been looking for something different in the area. Although we had passed this restaurant many times we never thought to go in. On a whim to try something new, we went tonight and it was awesome! Highly recommend this place to anyone . In an area over run with mediocre chain restaurants and poor service, this place raises the bar. Wonderful place !

E. O. Pederson

Good but not great. A recent birthday celebration was a pleasant evening, and the food was well prepared if a bit unimaginative. Having spent a fair amount of time in France, I would consider Bistro l’Hermitage a simulacrum of a good country French restaurant, fine for its DC area suburban customers, but hardly the real thing.

William Dixon

I took my wife to Bistro L'Hermitage for her birthday last night. I didn't know about the place before, but found it in a search for the area's most romantic restaurants. And since it is close to our house, we were very excited to try it. Well, we were blown away! My wife's family is French, so we know what quality French food is like and we have traveled in France quite a bit. We enjoyed the 7-course tasting menu. The first course came within 10 minutes of being seated and each course was better than the one before it. This was definitely not a standard "small" portion tasting menu... the portions are generous! Everything was delicious! I do believe I had the best filet mignon of my life last night! The cuisine would stand up against any fine dining establishment in Washington D.C. and we are so glad that this little hidden gem is close to our house!

Lou Ferrao

Awesome place to eat. Old French feel.

Eliana Sanchez

My words will fall short with this one. I absolutely loved this Mother’s Day invitation. It was more than I ever expected and it is definitely worth every dollar.

Spike Hysmith

Quiet and very romantic setting and very caring andsuperior customer awareness always making sure everything is good to go

Regular Guy

Great place for any occasion. The service is always top-notch and of course the food always delivers. Genuine French cuisine with nothing on the menu that isn't prepared exceptionally well. I love this place.

Rubbie Speights

Great food, casual yet romantic dining. Waiter was very friendly and engaging.

David Watkins

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Occaquan and south of Old Town Alexandria fir that matter. I’ve been coming here since 2014 and the food and service never disappoints. I highly recommend.

Dianina

The food very taste and the place is nice I love it to have a romantic dinner

Matthew Boehme

Had a great dinner with my wife here. Great place to celebrate a special event.

Pamela Tures

We were completely blown away. The management and staff were unbelievably welcoming and accommodating. We celebrated our parents 60th wedding anniversary. We were delighted to see such an amazingly beautiful table set for 20 people. With special menus and privately arranged flower arrangement. The food was absolutely delicious. We had a few family members with special dietary needs who were met with discreet and excellent service. This will definitely be a restaurant we return to when we find ourselves in the Occoquan area.

Rhory True

Solid dining on Thanksgiving. Tried everything on the 8 person table and it was all great. Coat check is nice, bathrooms are nice, beer selection is ok, but they need to change up the playlist... I think we heard the same opera guy sing the national anthem at least 4 times.

Devra Kann

This place is tucked away on a street near Occoquan. A quaint spot in what looks like someone's house. Beautiful inside and out, it offers a quiet atmosphere and impeccable service. The food was superb with a healthy selection offered nightly. We visited, the last time, for our anniversary, and could not be happier that we chose this place. The wait staff is quietly dependable and attentive to your needs. The fried oyster appetizer was excellent with enough to share. The lobster special was beautiful as well as excellently prepared. The portion size was large enough that we had to bring home the leftovers to have another night. They offer nightly specials as well as their regular menu offerings. Everything was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. They recognize you when you return, even if you have only been there once before. Quite a lovely experience these days.

Dennis Wagner

Food is always great and service is impeccable. After your first visit, staff always remembers you are a return customer.

P. Gomez

This place transports you to a real french bistro. Outstanding food and service. The cocktails are fantastic and wine menu magnifique.

Michele Minor

Amazing! The owner and staff provided both superb service and food. Our party thoroughly enjoyed our time!

Brandon Piggott

Came down from Michigan and being French wanted to try somewhere French. This establishment is outstanding. From the food to the decor, everything had a very French feel. The waitstaff was also outstanding and very attentive.

InFaith Gibbs

You will miss it if you have not been here before. My brother in-law made reservations for my sister, 2 of our very close friends and I for mothers day celebrations. (we celebrated this past Sunday on 5/19). It's beautiful and very well placed. The ambience is great, food and drinks are to die for. After getting seated, our waiter came over promptly and started us off with mimosas. He then came and got our meal orders (he was very knowledgeable on the food and drinks). I ordered the flounder with risotto and highly recommend it. Our meals came out promptly, hot and tasted exquisite! (We were all happy with our food) He later recommended martinis that were out of this world (kudos to the bartender). It was a very nice afternoon and we felt welcome and very well taken care of. Would highly recommend it, this place is a must try! Will definitely be coming back.

Marc Rupert

This Bistro is truly phenomenal. In my opinion, this is the best place to eat in Woodbridge. Small, tucked away but worth the while. Walked in on a Saturday, reservations are needed for weekend as this place is very busy. We ended up at the bar but couldn't have had a better experience. Friendly staff, good conversation and 5 star food. So glad I stumbled on this place. ***Hours on maps say closes at 11, it does but doors close at 9. I love that. They say people stay later than that but no new customers after 9pm. Totally worth the money too. Dinner for 2 around $80 +/-

victor ferrari

Terrible service, they hanged up on me..... tried to cal in advance and they were very unproffesional..... Def not going back there....

Jennifer Newton-Bateman

Fabulous, authentic French fare cooked to perfection. Excellent service in a quaint setting enhances the experience.

Danyelle Satterly-Stoops

Amazing food & spectacular service!

Jorge R Perez

Last night we celebrated our 60th wedding anniversary at Bistro L'Hermitage. There were 16 family members in our party. We entrusted the arrangements to the restaurant staff headed by Monsieur Hassan. Everything was done perfectly. It was like venturing outside of Paris into the Vallée de Chèvreuse and finding a charming "auberge" in the countryside. The food was delicious and beautifully presented and served, the wines were superb, and the service was impeccable. Thank you, Bistro L'Hermitage for a most memorable evening!

Sub Scribe

Excellent service and consistent quality of each course. Will plan to go again.

Kevin Pelley

Mother's Day I took my wife for the brunch. It was superb. Three courses of our choices of several salads, entrees and desserts. The hardest part was making a choice. It was all delicious. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The staff is attentive and professional. We'll be back.

Elizabeth Vakos

Great service and smashing food! Best french onion soup I've ever had. Thanks BH!

Steffon Cumberbatch

This was our first time here and we were not disappointed. The ambiance was quaint and romantic and was conducive to making friends with customers at other tables which we did. I was on crutches during our visit and the staff was very accommodating. The owner himself even came out to ensure my comfort. I ordered the call liver which paired nicely with Pinot noir. The sauce was succulent! The common thing I heard everyone else in the restaurant saying was "wow I love this sauce" regardless of what they ordered. My wife had the halibut and paired it with Riesling which was delicious. The fish was well seasoned but not overdone. We had the trio for dessert which didn't disappoint and finally we finished up with an excellent condition of cappuccino. Highly recommend!

Kurt Haldeman

Fantastic staff and wonderful food. Our waiter was knowledgeable and helpful. The food arrived at a steady pace and there was no rushing. I plan on returning to try their tasting menu.

Richard Jones

Valentine's day dinner was exquisite. The food and the service was top notch. You are treated like royalty

Nancy Pillot

Fabulous experience brunching at c this little gem.

Yuriy

It was awesome. A bit pricey but worth it.

Shaina Higgins

This is tucked away just outside historic Occoquan and off a busy main road, and you'd never know it was there unless you went looking for it. Take my word: Go looking. The restaurant is small, with a cozy, intimate vibe and exceptionally attentive service. The food itself is EXCELLENT. From the complimentary French bread, to the scratch kitchen dinner menu, to the desserts, to the wine list it's all superb. What's more, the portion sizes are generous, which is not always the case in pricier restaurants. I can't speak highly enough of the experience my family enjoyed there this past weekend.

glenn larkin

My wife took me here for my birthday. We had a fabulous evening. The calamari was delicious and the rack of lamb was to die for. The staff were so helpful and professional and made the evening extremely enjoyable. Absolutely recommend.

Dillon Joel Horner

Exceptional food and service

Denise Golinowski

What a lovely gem of a restaurant! The ambiance is beautiful, the service superior, and the food sublime. A wonderful place for a special celebration.

Jean Westcott

Very attentive staff, many wonderful dishes and a charming environment. There were a few misses which I think could be corrected and make it can't miss. I loved my salad, the trout and the pomme tarte was sublime but my husband's excellent roast chicken was accompanied by soggy and oily fries. Our table was wobbly. Little things but noticeable when compared to the rest of the experience. We will be back, but hope that a bit more polish will make it shine.

ItzRobert

Very good service, food and for me personally I am very picky with my food but I still are everything they gave me the texture of the food was perfect, the French atmosphere was amazing

Jessica M

Most dishes were flavorful and delicious. Well paced and courteous wait staff

May Smm

Great food and drinks.

Michael B.

The food is very tasty. Service was excellent with friendly, attentive staff. The atmosphere is one of a bit "too close for comfort" as the small tables are crammed together and it gets very loud. Wish they would break up the one big room with a few privacy screens. No outside seating.

William Briotta

We've been to Bistro L'Hermitage before. It's our go-to place for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special events. The atmosphere is is elegant, but cozy at the same time. The food and service has always been excellent. This was our first time there for Thanksgiving dinner. It was a special fixed price 3 course meal. They also had special Thanksgiving-themed cocktails which were also great. We both had the Turkey. It was expertly prepared and tasted as good as it looked. All of my Turkey breast slices were very moist and each had some skin and fat on the edges (Yummy!) so it was obviuos great care had gone into even the way the meat was sliced. Evidently everyone seems to agree that the food at Bistro L'Hermitage is the best since the parking lot was packed and half of Prince William county was there for dinner. The staff was well prepared, and our courses were brought to our table in a timely manner even though the place was packed. Another nice touch that we love is that they have everyone check their coats as they arrive. This helps maintain the upscale atmosphere of the dining room since no one had their bulky coats hanging from the back of their chairs. We are definitely going back again.

Kim Goldsworthy

Outstanding french food. Service fantastic.

Tracey Barbee

Wonderful place. I highly recommend this restaurant, no hesitation. Courteous staff, absolutely delicious cuisine. Very nice French ambience. The staff is very attentive to you the whole time.

Peter Pohl

I was exploring and decided to finally give this place a try. Little did I know that I've been driving past one of the best restaurants in the area this whole time. What's your inside all the details focus on the ambiance and it all works well. I would say that you should probably get a reservation unless you're coming in at the beginning right when they open. Everything was delicious the bread was amazing the soup was amazing and the sandwiches were amazing. For what you get in service and quality of food the prices are very reasonable. They have a coat check available. I would have taken pictures of all the art and everything else it's up on the walls but I think you should really go see it yourself.

Mary Riker

Delicious food, great service

Michael Ahn

Friendly staff and delicious

Certainly one of the best restaurants we've eaten at. Dennis, the waiter, was exceptional as well as the rest of the staff. The dishes that we had were cooked to perfection. The downside was that the menu had so many good items listed that we just will have to return many times to try them.

Recently moved to the area and visited for the first time yesterday. Great food, good selection, reasonable prices, best service I’ve seen in a long time, and surprisingly spacious for an upscale French bistro. Our party of 6 came in for brunch with a 6 year old and a 1 year old, and had a lovely time.

This is a cozy little bistro that packs people in pretty tight. Its walls are covered with artwork and nostalgia that really makes it feel like you're in France. The food is absolutely top notch. We've had family gatherings and Valentine's Days here and the staff always makes you feel welcome. Definitely call ahead and reserve a table. They fill up pretty quick!

It's like a country restaurant as a variety of food breakfast lunch dinner serve 24 on while it's open as a variety menu both for people who are dieting and it also has the good old country style menu the store has a lot of items dating back to the early 1960s 70 Candy that one can buy plus cooking utensils some clothing toys you can spend a good couple hours just shopping and then have dinner or breakfast whatever suits one. Overall it's a great place to go. Plenty of parking easy to move in and out direct access to the interstate 95.
