Jamie Forgan

Great atmosphere, great staff, friendly and very accommodating with our large group. Food was great.

Chad Clark

We had been exicted to try this restaurant and after almost 2 years of living in the area, we did. The service (waiter) was not good, thanfully the food was. We had delicious appetizers and entrees, but again, were quite dissapointed with the service.

M Cox

I ate there Father's Day. The food was delicious with a lot of variety for brunch. The waiter was attentive given how busy they were. I had a Krispy Kreme bread pudding with espresso mousse that was surprisingly not too sweet or heavy. I had plenty of room for my crab cake Benedict and mimosa. They even have a small parking lot located behind their building and plenty of street parking, even on a busy day like Father's Day.

Vince Walisko

Good food and wine. Great bartender.

V R

The lamb was very tender, and drink selection was large. We got charged for a drink we did not order, and the waiter fixed the issue immediately. Restaurant is comfortable, yet classy.

Sandra Alexandrino

Very nice place for brunch on a Sunday morning. The food was very good. I felt a bit rushed though.

Joe Kim

Food was a bit bland, but friendly service. Loved the basin salad

William Maldonado

Delicious sea bass with wasabi mashed potatoes

Will Armstrong

Amazing experience. Amazing Chilean sea bass. Great Scallops special. Great drinks. A little slow service but have time to converse... A wonderful place.

The food isn't bad but the service takes it over the top, the bartender Fernando is the best he takes very good care of newcomers and his regulars alike

Barry McCabe

I recently discovered this place and absolutely love it. It's a beautiful facility, great food and definitely a staff who puts their heart into it. Good work guys! :)

Meezy

Food was good, I wish they had some more kid friendly stuff.

AARAV SHAH

Horrible staff members also racist to my family. I hate this place

Leo G

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars. The menu looks impressive, the wine and beer selections are extensive and the service is amazing. And with two visits, most dishes were quiet great. Unfortunately, the fried oysters had pieces of shell and salted caramel tart was wayyy oversalted. But overall, this place has a lot of potential.

Katie Miller

Delicious tuna tarta and sea bass and great service :-)

Kalomira Boosalis

Excellent!! I highly recommend. We had butternut squash soup, cauliflower app and cod fish and all were delicious. Great service too.

Mike Rowe

Awesome food and drink!

Tammy L

Good food served with flair! Amazing wine list, great desserts! Great bar dining, service is exceptional! Love the grilled octopus- but The miso-maple glazed seabass keeps me coming back again and again!

Service was slow, live music was great but way to loud. Had to sit on otherside of table next to friend to hear each other. We we're one of the first ones there and were seated at window with sun blinding us...could have requested to move, but we decided to put on our sunglasses. Food was great!

Totally unprofessional establishment . We called Bazin’s to ask if there was a wait for dinner. They told us there was no wait. We arrived 15 minutes later (around 6pm) and the “hostess” told us they were full with reservations for the rest of the night and we could not get a table “all night”. Funny thing is that the place was totally empty. We told her we called ahead and were told there would be no problem getting a table because there was “no wait”. She provided no explanation. Just stood there. Apparently there was no manager on duty and the owner was out. So that was it. She finally got a slightly more helpful waiter to tell us that we could get a table if we waited for an undisclosed period of time because they could not handle a table of 5. We left immediately. Bottom line is that this place has clueless staff members who could care less about customer service. The only good news was The Sandwich shop across the street was open and that place is AMAZING.

Steve DeWeese

Attend wedding reception. Appetizers were excellent and plentiful. Service professional and pleasant.

Bilgi Geyik

Great service, food and atmosphere... Thank you for the warm welcome and hospitality...

Michael leech

Found this place while travelling. Great presentation, delicious food, great atmosphere. It's not cheap, but the value is great, especially for Northern Va. I'll stop in again when I pass through!

Deborah Patterson

Stellar. Street parking, under restaurant garage parking. One of the few restaurants who actually knew what a classic Daiquiri on the rocks was... And made me an awesome one. Filet with roasted onion bacon salsa and port wine sauce. Maple miso Chilean sea bass. 'Nuff said.

Richard Plocica

No Vienna-Tysons candlelit place but a haven for Yuppies past & present so conversation abounds! Fine casual dining returns to downtown Vienna after traffic-ridden Tysons. In walking distance for many, worth a long drive too, let a alone a springtime stroll. Get reservations or wait at the marble bar or head for the exhibition cooking area. Food you never dreamed of. Fills up most nights - it is that good. High quality unique choices of American

Tracey Forster

Amazing food..had to wait 45 minutes w a reservation

Holly Golightly

Very rude customer service. Would not recommend.

Tommy Corcoran

Good food...great sevice...fair priced wine menu

Katee Hawker

Never had a bad meal there, and the gluten free food is integrated into the menu and the kitchen so you can feel like you are having a normal dining experience.

Ross Z

I ordered the ravioli, crab spring roll, and asparagus salad. Food was great besides undercooked pasta and very small portion for the price. In general very pricey.

Mark Harman

Fantastic service and food. Gluten free friendly place as well

Allison Garrett

Always an amazing experience! Food is incredible and beautifully prepared, cocktails are great and creative and the Bazin's team is wonderful!

John Walker

The bartender was the best! I think his name was Oscar. The buffalo cabbage was really good. The warm olives were so good, we ordered seconds.

Angie Bailey

Wonderful restaurant in downtown Vienna. It's a gem and one of a kind. The food is amazing and the service phenomenal. They have fun wine dinners and pop up nights, which we have been to a few times. I don't come as often as I used to due to moving further away, but every time I come here, they don't disappoint.

Andrea Diaz

Your phone doesn't work

Rosetta Virgilio

Great restaurant, food & staff!

David Bear

Good menu selection, and very good food and service. One of a handful of good higher restaurants in Fairfax.

David Mentzer

Sunday jazz brunch was incredible. Awesome food, especially short rib hash. Live jazz band was incredible - very young but so good, they had people putting down their forks to applaud.

Pinar Erturan

I've been here twice and both experiences were pretty much the same. The service is great, everyone is super friendly but the food is mediocre at best.

Huriyet Anaz

Great food, great atmosphere. Service was exquisite.

Madison Sinsley

Fabulous food and service. My favorite restaurant in Vienna/Tyson's Corner/Fairfax! Their cuisine is inventive and delicious. Absolutely worth the price! It's small and romantic, but perfect for small groups too.

C Hogan

The prix fix dinner for New Year's Eve was wonderful. There were some delays towards the end of our seating, but we had a wonderful time. This was our second year meeting for the New Year's Eve event.

Vijay Mantena

Fast service but food is meh!

Marilena

Amazing food

Allie Berg

Eclectic menu and delicious (seriously delicious!) food. Bazin's on Church has a great atmosphere. I recommend it for anyone looking for exceptional food in a nice but unpretentious restaurant. I have only been there for dinner, but I've heard great things about their brunch too.

Paul Grzesik

Food, service, and atmosphere was excellent. However, our drinks were not. Three of us ordered Manhattans and after our first sip we agreed they were not OK. They were overly sweet (from excessive maraschino cherry juice), warm, ... and small (think cordial glasses), and expensive ($11 with Jim Beam) and ($13 with Makers Mark). We told the waiter about our disapproval and asked to have them replaced but to skip the cherry juice and even the cherries. He did this without hesitation. The replacements were better....but not great. I don't want to make too big deal about this but a Manhattan should be a pretty basic drink for any good restaurant but Bazin's did not deliver.

Nina L

Had dinner here with a gal pal, and it was our first time at Bazin's. Other people's reviews of the Chilean sea bass was spot on. Delicious doesn't fully describe how good it was! The short ribs were also tasty. Great place for a friends' night out or date night. I'll definitely be back!

Margie Joyce

My new favorite place for dinner. Lovely service, congenial staff, yummy food.

Edward Schmitz

One of the best local restaurants Very friendly, good seasonal dishes.

Jesse Williams

Great Thanksgiving meal!

Judi N

We went about noon on Sunday for brunch. They had live music which was so loud you couldn't even hear each other talk. It was definitely not the quiet conversational brunch we were looking forward to. We were seated and our server wasn't overly interested in helping us out. We ordered our meal which came with fried eggs. He didn't even ask us how we wanted the eggs fried, just quickly took off. We weren't offered another drink or coffee until we were completely finished with our meal. Our main reason for choosing Bazin's was the Gluten Free options as I am celiac. There were a few options and I was assured that they were very careful about cross contamination. However, my son took a bite of his bread and I watched the flour fly out across the table. My meal was supposed to be GF but I was absolutely exhausted when I walked out of there as though I had been glutened. We won't be back.

Veronica McCoy

Love the ambience, and people.

Joshua Pritt

We enjoyed our food, but all of the staff wasn't very friendly. They weren't BAD per se, but just generally inattentive and non-welcoming – our waiter never even told us his name, for example, and wasn't interested in talking to us when we asked a question about the menu. Very wooden. Again, our food was good, but it was also expensive for what we got. Ultimately it was an okay or good experience, and we probably won't return.

sue snider

Great food and even better service!

Susan Rauch

We had an event there. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent

Jon Kamide

We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Our server was very friendly and seemed to know the menu well. The place was packed (Saturday evening) and lively.

Scott Wesley

We found this place by accident when we were looking for another restaurant. We walked by it three times before we decided to go in and try it out. Some of the best food and sauces we have had anywhere.

Neva Fulkerson

We were trying to give them another chance as we enjoy the food and the atmosphere but their service failed again. After seeing our server serve drinks, take an order from a table that was seated after us and waiting almost 15 mins for our bottle of wine we decided this restaurant didn't deserve our business nor will it get it in the future. They were quick to cancel our reservation on OpenTable maybe in hopes not to get a bad review?

Spencer Jones

Great food...frinks

Doris Park

Always enjoy the food and service at Bazin's! Their miso sea bass is delicious! So much so that I make someone order it every time I dine here.

Cherie Curry

Excellent restaurant and great service

Shawn Nguyen

I normally do not write a review until the 2nd or 3rd time I've been to the restaurant. At Bazins, this was my 2nd. 1st experience blew me away. It was busy but none the less the Food was amazing, staff were great, and the drink selection is pretty spectacular. Prices are appropriately priced. 2nd experience, was disappointed. It was on a wednesday, early dinner around 5pm, not busy at all. Staff were great again, the server Nick Flessate is the one to request! He was very polite, knew what he was talking about and didnt disappear for 30 minutes like some higher end restaurants ive been too. I was disappointed with the food surprisingly. I ordered the lamb lollipops as a appetizer, flavor was good, perfect medium rare but for some reason it came out luke warm, they let it cool down for a little to long, not a real big deal but I wished it was warmer. When it comes to my main entree I was highly disappointed because this was the dish i had last time and fell in love with it. I ordered the Coconut curry chicken dish and this time it wasn't great. Presentation was nice, rice, veggies, and that curry sauce were great once again. But when it came to the main part, the chicken, not so great. It was very rubbery and hard, they clearly overcooked it because it came out still pretty hot. I did not finish the chicken. I told Nick and he was very apologetic, I told him its not his fault, he offered to get the cooks to make me a knew one but i said it was okay. Other than my second visit being a flop, I will still go again. Mistakes happen.

Pat Norris

Great food...great service.

John Finnerty

One of the better decent restaurants in the area. Always has good food, very professional service, never have had an issue with this place. Pleasant, great tasting, new takes on old favorites, and nailing the standards. Best of, totally unpretentious fine dining. That's hard to find around here. 5/5

Argyn Kuketayev

We've been here once a couple of years ago. Food was overpiced, the place was very small.

A Google User

Church street is one of the highlights of old town Vienna and seems to be thriving with new businesses. I came to Bazin's with a few friends on Saturday night. Overall, the food was good, but not always consistent. The tuna tartar was a bit heavy and the chip that came with it was not enough to distribute the portion. The gnocchi was delicious and my wife seemed to enjoy her dish. My friend ended up with a very rare steak despite asking for medium. Service could have been better and it seemed like there were way more runners than waiters.

Stanley Stewart

Lucy Friedenberg

Fantastic food. We have celiac people in our party and it was great. The Chef is also gluten-free, so he makes sure the menu is great.

Kevin Buehler

Great choice for just about any dinning you are up to. Awesome menu and wait staff.

Eunice C.

Loud, which is fine with me but menu needs more work!

John Valdivielso

Quaint. Pricey. Has a neighborhood feel. Food is forgettable.

Michael Phenis

Excellent . I had pasta gemilli with sausage, salad with goat cheese and grapes and the tart with ice cream. Sunday night not too crowded got a window table. A couple of birthdays going on. Very pleasant .

Great selection of food. Many gluten free choices. Great wine list as well.

Everything was as expected. Table configuration makes it tough to move around with a group. Food was nicely done and favorable.

Great service! Places like this make Vienna and Church Street so great. Besr bartender in Vienna and always a good time stopping in for a drink.

David Young

John Schultz

Overcrowded and overrated. The food is nothing to write home about and the service is fair to middling.

Alice Mahoney

One of my favorite restaurants in the area!!!

Stephen Marshall

My first visit was a big success. I had beet salad to start, followed by veal entree with side of Brussel sprouts. All were delicious although it was tough to make choices from so many attractions on the menu. There's a large wine list, too.

I have lived in Vienna 18 years, places come and go... I hope this one does not! Bazins has been a staple for many years now- my favorite restaurant in all of Vienna and also one of my favorites in the USA as a whole. Amazing food every time, perfect vibe and atomosphere, staff always friendly and on top of it.

Rita DiTrani

Lovely brunch!

We had our wedding and reception in the sister venue, Bazin's Next Door, in late October and it was outstanding. As soon as I found this place online, we went to visit it and even seeing the outside and peering in the windows, we had a strong feeling that it would be perfect. We just hoped the price would work for us too. Melissa showed us around and guaranteed us there were no secret costs or fees, and she was right, and we signed that day and never looked back. All the decisions of a wedding were taken care of--linens, lighting, table settings. The decor inside and the ambiance was warm, cozy, elegant, easy, and functional. It didn't have a formal feel, but the way the space is designed help inform guests what to do. Extremely accommodating staff on the day of--took care of placing all the flower arrangements and even cooked a box of mac and cheese for my nephew, which was above and beyond. The food was exceptional and all our guests were raving about the food and the venue and still are. Several have gone back to Bazin's on Main and called it a hidden gem. It ended up working out great for us because we had a short ceremony on the front porch and closed the glass doors, but if we had to be inside b/c of weather or if we wanted more privacy, the kitchen was pretty loud since it was open (which added a great feel most of the time), and it would have been hard to speak loudly enough during the ceremony and would not have been the best background. So, just consider where you're having the ceremony and when if you're doing a wedding there. We had it right before dinner, after cocktail hour, so that's why the kitchen was getting noisy. Having it from the getgo would probably have avoided that. Thanks Bazins!

Went for lunch. Atmosphere of the place is good. Food was below average unfortunately the day we were there. They were out of 2 of the 9 entrees on the menu which weren't even mentioned beforehand by the waiter till we went to order. Had the Lobster Tacos which were more of a lobster roll in hard tortilla shells which is a weird mix. Wouldn't of ordered if I knew that. Lobster was rubbery in case you were wondering. Wife had the Chicken Milanese which she said was more texture than flavor. Lack of seasoning. Whole dish was dominated by the pickled onions that were in the salad that was served over the chicken, which is also kind of a weird way to serve that item. Also had the empanadas and spiced olives for starters which were fine other than the portions being a bit stingy for the price paid. $9 for 2 small empanadas and $4 for 5 olives. Decent beer selection and well priced. Had a good cream stout that was on tap, however they served the stout way too cold for that type of beer which I'd expect an establishment like this to make the effort to get right. Picky point yes, however I'm sure the brewery wouldn't be happy about that either as it effects the flavor.

Darla Howard-Ramirez

Nice Vienna setting with great staff!

I Love this restaurant. Excellent food and great service. I would give this ten stars.

Biz Pages

Great food - But WoW - WAY snobby staff - don't dare show up close to closing time - sad, when you do want to "Buy Local" some snotty hostess makes it almost impossible

Paul Benda

Was at a private event at Bazin's Next Door and even though it was a large group with a fixed menu, the food was very good which can be hard to do. I was impressed.

The food in this place is overwhelmingly delicious. This was our first time visiting and we chose this place for our anniversary. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the hostess shoved us between two tables instead of placing us in an area where there was more space. There were other tables open with more space, but she decided to place us where we had very little room. So it was a little uncomfortable at first. But once we were seated and our server came, we had a great time with excellent food.

Erik Price

My wife and I had been wanting to try Bazzins, an upscale American restaurant for a while. It was decent, but we felt a little disappointed. Our table, and many others, was right next to the main walkway so there was a lot of foot traffic by us - we had made a reservation prior. Our waitress took a while to see us the first time and it was difficult to get her attention the rest of the night as well. My wife got the sea bass. It was decent but overpriced at almost $40. I'm vegetarian and was disappointed to find only 1 entree that was veggie - the Potato Gnochi with pomodoro sauce - it was excellent at least! For a full meal you should order some sides as well, which were also excellent. Very good wine selection; only bottled beers, even having a couple on tap would have been nice.

J. Aubrey Torres

Wonderful food. Went for lunch and will return sometime for dinner

Cherie Seibert

Great food, service a bit slow for work lunch.

Bradford Pace

Owners Patrick and Julie Bazin continue to deliver new American cuisine alongside an extensive and exciting wine list.

Cate Fulkerson

Great Food, service adequate.

Bland taste, way too overpriced. If you like $40.00 salads its your restaurant.

Noah Egorin

Fantastic food..high value for the quality and experience. Perfect date night.

Fabio Morrone

Great restaurant, great food and great wine list, very welcoming....

wesley shifflett

The food is great and the ambiance is nice. The service is lacking. This is supposed to be a high end restaurant, but the waitress didn’t introduce herself, she wasn’t personable, and was not attentive. This was my first time to Bazin’s and likely my last. There is too much competition in the area to compromise good service with high food prices. There are plenty of other restaurants that will give you great service and a great meal.

Joan Mitchum

Seated rigt on time, friendly efficienct staff. A little noisy. Boring potatoes.

Aimee Belote

Not really fair for me to judge since we were there for my husband's company Christmas party, but the food was great and the atmosphere was open and inviting.

kathy pollack

We had swordfish. The inside was watery as if it had been defrosted. The entire meal was tasteless. The appetizer (BBQ short ribs) was mushy. We went on a Wednesday evening. Maybe that was the problem. Was it the chef's night off and we had warned up leftovers? Even the blueberries in the crumble were cold as if they had been frozen.

glenn larkin

My wife and I had a wonderful time. You can dress or be casual. The food is excellent and the wait staff is top notch. You'll love this little gem. Try the lamb chops. Trust me, you'll love them

Steve Hursh

Great food and a wonderful venue for s party.

Yavuz Inanli

Great fun and atomsphere

Arnie Christianson

We love this place. One of the best restaurants in the area. Cool vibe, friendly service, and a top notch menu.

Kathleen Stepp

Consistently good.

Laurie Cook

We have been eating here since they opened over 15 years ago. Always an excellent meal. Highly recommend the maple miso sea bass, but everything is great, as is the service.

Jena Elysse

The portions are generous, but the food and drinks are only so-so. I can see how twenty years ago this place would have been stellar but there are too many other options very close by that are better. But credit where credit is due, the steak itself was lovely. I just wished for more out of everything else.

Gregory Pettine

Went for fathers day brunch. Crab cake Benedict was good. The hollandaise sauce was tangy and tasty but one of my eggs was way over cooked. :( I liked the cheese blintzes with tart cherries but kids did not. Cinnamon bread was a hit. Will definitely go again when they are less busy. Food and service overall were good even though they were extremely busy, Sorry, forgot the picture before i dug in!

Kirk Evans

Awesome brunch buffet!

Divya Aigal

Jonathan Stanley

Small portions for the price. My pasta was not very good at all. We were here to celebrate a birthday, we made our own small cake. After our group spent an accumulative $900 on dinner, the restaurant charged us $2.50 per slice to cut our own cake, totaling $30 plus the tax and tip, again ON OUR OWN CAKE. Ridiculous. Won't be coming back. The manager is rude and really needs to learn some manners.

Tommy Mcvean

Always love going there! They do a great job of mixing up the menu and very unique and delicious servings.

Arlen McCorkle

Best ever! Outstanding service, amazing food. I am leaving a review here, yelp, zagat, and anywhere else that does reviews. We had the oysters app, A+, and i had the tagliettelle bolognese, A+.

Tyree Carlson

Delicious!

Steve Cruey

Very nice atmosphere for any special occasions. The food was superb. Thanks for making my visit to the DC area exceptional.

Great little restaurant, but finding parking can be a bear....

Incredible food and wonderful staff!

David Drahozal

Atmosphere, local feel, great food!

This place is nice for a date night or conversation

Kelly Brickley

This review is for the Pop Up night hosted by Bazin's on Church, not the regular restaurant at Basin's. I'd been looking forward to going to a pop up taco night for quite some time, and sadly I found myself let down by the experience. We'd made a reservation which was confirmed by the restaurant earlier in the day. However, when we arrived, they kept us waiting for more than 45 minutes until a table opened up. Not only did they keep us waiting, but no one ever came to check on us, offered an explanation, or let us know how long the wait was going to be. The wait itself wouldn't have bothered me, the lack of communication definitely did. They checked us into a table way back in the corner of the room, immediately in front of one of the service curtains. My chair was wedged so far back into a corner that I couldn't move forward or backwards, as I was hemmed in by the table in front and the wall behind and to the side of me. There are no coat racks, so everybody had long winter coats draped over the back of their chairs, which made it very difficult to squeeze between the seats without knocking something onto the ground. We ordered the guacamole for the table, which was a very generous portion, and quite tasty. We ordered several different types of tacos to be shared about the table, and for the most part they were all good. When we were done eating, I ordered another drink, which took more than 20 minutes to arrive. By that point in time I was ready to ditch the drink and just get the check. Overall, I wasn't impressed, and I probably won't be going back. Though the food was good, the service and the crowded room put a damper on the experience.

Christopher Morrow

not child friendly at all... shockingly so. will not return.

MG S

Lacking in anything special that you'd expect at this price point. Wholly unspectacular, and I left feeling very "meh." Lots of strange flavor combinations on the menu that just don't work (vanilla sweet potato purée alongside Brussels sprouts and caramel-glazed pork, cheddar cheese beside short ribs, a bed of hummus underneath cauliflower). Other things just seemed completely off: roasted cauliflower had no roasted qualities and might as well have been steamed, salted caramel tart with caramel that was overdone and burnt-tasting, and blueberry crumble with just a dusting of crust.

Julia Carrier Donley

So great and yummy!

Robert Moran

The Bananas Foster French Toast was delicious! Great atmosphere and parking underneath makes for a great place! Highly recommended.

Charlotte Peed

Great lunch special. 3 courses for $25. Foods was fabulous.

Great service, amazing staff, and probably the best restaurant in Vienna.

Nicholas Gimbrone

The chef always has a wonderful and varied menu, nicely complimented by the wine list.

Chilean Sea Bass... wow, what a meal! Good selection of wines, out of this world desserts. Have been many times, and the only feedback to give is to update the menu a bit. Always a great experience, even when it was storming, the power went out, so they candlelit the place, and still had a limited menu!! That's service under pressure!
