Andrew Sharp

Great coffee and fast friendly service. Cute decor and a welcoming atmosphere.

Joseph Middleton

This is a wonderful, cozy cafe. The staff wad extremely friendly and the food was delicious. My partner ordered coffee that she said was delicious. I ordered a BLT and bengeits. The BLT was one of the best I've had and very filling. The bengeits were also delicious. It was a great spot to relax and enjoy the morning. I would definitely recommend this place especially since it is only a block or two from the Metro.

J Waltz

Favorite little spot that serves delicious food and tasty drinks. We go there for the biscuits and gravy, grits and pastries. Yummmm

Salam T

This place is very average for how popular it is. The biggest disappointment I had there were the beignets, which were very bland, soggy (even though they were freshly made) and had a strange, almost bitter aftertaste that seemed like they had put too much raising agent in the mixture. The Arm Drip sandwich was terrible- it was basically reheated beef mush with very little flavor. Perhaps we got a bad batch but Beignets are not complicated and a place that prides itself on this type of cuisine should make them perfectly every time. Coffee offerings, cinnamon rolls and biscuit breakfast sandwiches are all good though. Basically if you want coffee and a baked treat this place is fine but if you’re hoping for some authentic New Orleans cuisine look elsewhere.

Patricia Montekulast

Best coffee hands down!

Amanda Anoh

Nice quaint place with delicious items on the menu.

Peter Haththotuwa

Good coffee, great location and atmosphere

Katerina Warren

This place had amazing food!! Great service! clean and quiet place to relax and eat!

Xeniya Shirinova

Tasty and European stylish

Aric Mutchnick

Great staff. A walk down Bourbon Street when you cannot make it to New Orleans.

Matthew Laudone

Very solid. Great options quick and friendly service. Pleanty or room to find a spot and enjoy.

James Lana

Southern food done right! The biscuits are a must have. Served with butter, but you can get fresh jam or pepper relish for free as a topping. Bennets are also a must do. Just wish they had more seats!

Honora Price

Best beignets outside NOLA, great community minded owner, friendly staff, comfortable clean hangout.

Mr. Firestone

I do enjoy their Muffuletta!!

Lincoln Ripley

Hot damn. I wasn’t expecting much but was actually really impressed. The coffee was really great (all the roasts! Got them on pour over) and the breakfast was pretty good as well. As a southern boy with Cajun heritage, I was also pleased with the beignets. Might take some of this coffee home.....

Michael Ioia

So good! Came here for breakfast and they absolutely crushed it. Tasty and fresh!

Tina Patel

The Beignets were the best thing about this place! The biscuits were too dry the gravy was sweet. The pulled pork was also dry n the potatoes were just okay. Wouldn’t go there again! :(

David McNeill

Best spot. Difficult to find parking but if you loop behind the jail there is usually street parking.

Samuel Ziegler

Great food as always! Service is quick, courteous & with a smile. I never miss an opportunity to stop there when in the area. Eat dat food!!!

Mike Post

What a hidden gem this is! Sorry that I missed Chef Gaus, but will be back next time in town! The gumbo was as good as I've ever had and the "Douille" Dog was outstanding!

Shykeria Anderson

Not much selection as far as actual food goes and it did not taste all that great either. The biscuits were dry and the food quality was poor. The only thing worth eating is the beignets! They were pretty delicious.

Jake Owen

I love this place. The food is consistently good, creative, and has a nice southern and Cajun twist. Excellent work environment. Great coffee.

Trinity Torres

So yummy! I got the Honey Do latte which was so great! They offer all different types of milk for your lattes, which is a nice option to have! It's definitely really crowded so you might have to hover for a seat. I ordered the Beignets and they were DELICIOUS!

Aungelica Downing

Coffee was de-lish! I had the loaded grits (not that great) and the beignets. Everything came out quickly, even for a busy Sunday.

Valerie Michaud

The food here is AMAZING!!!! Hands down my favorite place for brunch!

Eden Stern

Their baked good are great.

P.A. Giovanetti-Quaranto

Mardi Gras! Was able to get a Kings cake before Lent, awesome.

Greg Jones

We’re in the process of a renovation. We ordered a couple dozen beignets for the workforce (Uber eats). They arrived piping hot and literally the best I’ve EVER had. That’s a tall order. The fam and I are heading over again this morning.

Rob Bowen

The baristas are nice, the coffee is good, and I really like the Mr T sandwich

Harold Hinkson

Everything's made fresh while you wait. Food was great, staff very friendly, would def visit again when I'm in the area.

Patricia Vasquez

Nice place for a meeting or just stopping by to grab a coffee and a snack.

John E

Quick coffee place with a southern vibe.

Wanderer Money

This is a great place to check out and find some unique and very tasty food - especially breakfast which it seems to be primarily geared towards. Very cute atmosphere. It’s nice finding something unique but not so unique that you will need to worry about someone in your party not finding something to have. Has a coffee bar as well and mimosas and other brunch drinks. Weekends can be crowded- especially during the nice weather with the cute outdoor area. Worth a try!

Kelly J

Biscuit was dry. Sausage lacked flavor. Not worth the money

Shahzad Qasim

Very good bakery and cafeteria for brunch and coffee

Essie Wagner

First, gotta say that I don't enjoy their coffee. Chickory is just not my thing. However, beignets are. Be smart and don't wear black. The rest of the menu is good too.

C T

I went there today and was actually really disappointed.. My whole order was wrong. I asked for a black coffee with a drop of coconut milk and ended up getting a lot of coconut milk in there, and it was steamed, did not ask for hot milk or a latte. Then I ordered a king cake with the cream cheese filling and pointed at it, got one with no filling.

Frank Warakomski

Great morning stop for a taste of NOLA!

김한나

The food was not bad. But the cashier staff was terrible. I won't visit here ever again.

Tracy K

Delicious ham and cheese croissant and good, strong iced tea. Very well done!

Liam Darmody

Great southern spot with delicious beignets that remind you of cafe du Monde in New Orleans. Delicious grits, biscuits, and coffee.

Elena Lozina

This Louisiana themed cafe has become one of my go-tos on the weekends. They're delicious, very affordable, and the atmosphere is always cheery and bustling.

Roberto Valletta

I am partially a victim of high expectations. I was excited to find beignets while looking for a breakfast spot and they also serve egg and cheese biscuits. What a perfect combo of sweet and savory! Sadly the biscuit was hard and rubbery, likely a day or two old and then microwaved to make it nuclear hot. The bacon was overcooked but at least they have Crystals hot sauce to douce it with and make it bearable. The beignets where meh, and you know they are not very proud of them when they are covered by a layer of powdered sugar thicker than the beignet. Coffee was hot, ambiance is cool NOLA chic. Thats about all they have going right now. Wished it could have been so much better.

Ashton Harvey

Having lived in the NOLA area for a number of years, I found this place a real treat. Its almost always packed and can be a little confusing between ordering and getting your food, but it's a pretty authentic experience from that standpoint as well. The food is true to its roots and I look forward to my next visit.

Crysta Wolfe

Love, love, love Bayou Bakery. Quickly became a must for my trips to DC! Been three times in the past few years. I would highly recommend a latte and some beignets!

Ravi Ravishankar

Cute and cozy with a NOLA theme. Great coffee selection including the NOLA Iced Chickory. We spent a leisurely hour and it was fun. The music is a nice bonus!

Sarah Cooper

I enjoyed the music and the low key atmosphere at 5pm. Plenty of seating inside and out. I ordered a tea and the gumbo which was delicious! Its counter service/bus your own table type of place. The one down side is that the buy one get one free happy hour is on pastries they won't sell tomorrow so nothing was eligible. It was just a bit strange. I'll go back though for another cup of delicious gumbo!

Jen Vandeveer

Had Sunday breakfast, glad we got in the door before 9am! Beignets were great, coffee on the better-than-average side, biscuits were good. I had the grits special which basically came with a big chunk of roast and a tomato gravy which was decent, but next time I'd likely just get the loaded grits. Decent prices so I'd like to come back for lunch/dinner. A solid choice in the Arlington Courthouse area.

Handoko Adi Susanto

Where you can find a good coffee

Jasmyn Zackery

Cute spot with a couple of vegan options. The Yerba Mate is BOMB!

Kenneth Deuel

Probably best coffee house in Court House area.

Yuna Seol

Love the atmosphere! Love the food too!

Casey Nolan

I don’t drink coffee but everything I’ve eaten here is great, and I’ve had at least five different things off the menu. The macaroni and cheese was especially delicious. Way above the standards of normal coffee shop/cafe food! They’re also quick getting food out.

Phil Smith

Good French Press coffee

George Chao

Themed coffee shop with cute menu items and fun staff.

Welcome to the Jones'

Came just for the beignets, which were incredible! Also had a bowl of gumbo & some loaded grits! Everything was amazing, atmosphere was cozy. Can’t wait to go back for more! Drove all the same from Bowie, Maryland. Won’t be our last trip I’m sure of that!!!!

Caston Awadzi

I have a lot of family from Louisiana and this place reminds me of down south. Everything from the LSU and saints flags to the beignets is all done with love and care. Really great spot and prices are not super expensive also.

Audrey C Gates

Quick visit, good drip coffee and delightful beignets. The biggest thing I noticed is how clean this place is! And the humor everywhere was a nice touch, too. Recommend learning how to eat beignets or don't eat them wearing black- served true to Cafe du Monde form, overloaded in powdered sugar. One of our party got the latte special of the day and noted that it was flavored well and not too sweet or overloaded with syrup.

Cooper Cunningham

Although it is a limited menu in a small space (tables and chairs fill up so quickly during the busy Sunday brunch hours), the staff is always super friendly and the food is always delicious! Fun southern Louisiana atmosphere too. Highly recommended to everyone!

Sarah Rawlins

Biscuits to die for, perfectly smoked thick-cut bacon. Cheddar-chive scones were great also.

Rebecca Goguen

Chill place with good food.

Meg Bellomo

Nice fresh baked items

Jerome Reinhart

Good new Orleans style breakfast food, cheesey biscuit was top tier all time. Chicory iced coffee is great too. Only did take out but service was fast and friendly

Peter Matlock

I am a NewOrleans boy, so I am a tough customer but the Beignets were close, the Crawfish Etouffe was decent, used to a different gravy type covering. The French Press was terrible but we were in a hurry and didn't want to complain, left some in the cups. 1st time so when near will try again. Red Beans and rice will tell me what I need to know hope they make it.

kahina hunt

Love the atmosphere, folks that work there and the food is consistently good. Love the choc banana muffins and the cornbread n salads..yumm!!

Lacey Hopkins

I like the location and atmosphere, but I've had the gluten free muffins/cupcakes twice and they are dry and won't be visiting them again.

Jesús Delgado

Warm, nice atmosphere. Excellent cappuccino. Soups are delicious.

Jasmina Makota

Great coffee, beignets, and cozy atmosphere! Love this place.

Akshayraj Kore

The fall-veggie (Buternutsquash and charred cauliflower) sandwich is a very good option for vegetarians.

Max Castillo

It's an absolute cluster in here and the service is pretty rude. The food was decent and fairly inexpensive, but there are definitely better breakfast places around. If you're intent on coming here, get your food to go so you don't have to deal with all the chaos and yelling inside.

John Knotwell

The breakfast sandwich and coffee cake was amazing. I loved the atmosphere here with the authentically Cajun feel. I also appreciated the coffee shop seating combined with the traditional tables. Very cool!

C. Eric Scott

A good counter service style restaurant for coffee and breakfast sandwiches with a New Orleans influenced menu and theme. They have different kinds of biscuits and also have pastries and beignets. It's a small place with somewhat limited seating, so you may have to wait for a seat if there's a crowd. We got biscuits with bacon, egg, and cheese which were pretty tasty.

Marylyn Marcelino

Food was okay. The beignets were really good though. The ambience of the place was good too. I wish they had better seating for a group of six or more... Service could be better too

Rachel Carillo

Perfect snow day with Southern hospitality! Had a warm and buttery buttermilk biscuit with coffee. Cozies up on the chair and watched snow, people & patrons.

Peter Wilcox

Effuses southern charm with incredibly fresh and locally sourced fare. Treat yourself to the beignettes!

Lin Philpott

Love love love this place! It's hard to find a good local place and the Bayou feel comfy and homemade.

Pete Ramsey

My word. Eat the biscuits. And the beignets. And anything and everything they have. It's all amazing.

Casey Jones

Best bacon egg and cheese biscuit to date.

steven kelly

Cool bathroom....has recipes all over the wall.

Eric Medina

Great food and coffee. Don't miss out if you're ever near this wonderful eatery

Paulette Paglia

I was a regular customer at their DC location. Still sad about how they disappeared without any warning to their customers. Very strange! So I'm in Ballston/Courthouse. My friend is visiting from Ohio. We were chatting about how great New Orleans cuisine is and wish we lived nearer. I thought to get coffee & beignets at Bayou Bakery to surprise her. NO BEIGNETS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. WTF? Are there no fryer repair people in Arlington, VA? Ordered bacon-egg-cheese on a biscuit. Biscuit was excellent - flakey and moist. Bacon was a huge disappointment. Extremely salty. Egg and cheese was good - I think - sodium exploding bacon was ruining it. Dear Chef Gaus - It makes zero difference to me if your bacon friend was nominated or won a James Beard Award. A better description of the heavy sodium content in this bacon would have guided me to ordering something different. Why didn't I make it known while I was physically in the cafe? Because it was apparent there were several issues going on the morning of my visit. I had the displeasure of being seated next to the counter. I could see the chaos and hear all about, at least 2 incorrect orders. In addition to beignets being out (although not really) another popular item not being available either. My apologies if I ordered my coffee incorrectly. Cafe Au Lait tasted different than at the old DC location. Different coffee blend? Different machine? Not sure but I doubt I'll return unless they have beignets. Sadly it seems the owner isn't anxious to restore them to their menu. I say this because it sounds like I interpret "until further notice" differently than you Chef Gaus and your Krewe. Employees are nice, as in polite, but not really concerned about their patrons, or the business. Fryer was magically repaired at some point during my stay but Chef Gaus' Krewe didn't think to make an announcement that beignets WERE suddenly available. Nor did they remove the signs which read "No beignets until further notice." I left in disgust. Street Parking is difficult but there are other options. My apologies for not mentioning this in my original review. From their website: PARKING Metered parking available on cross streets. Garage parking is on 15th St. just past the eatery. We offer free garage validation for up to 2 hours, every Monday-Friday from 5pm-close, and throughout the day on weekends (per parking garage hours). Atmosphere isn't as unique and charming as their DC Eastern Market location. See Chef Gaus' rude reply below to my honest 2 star review, now 1 star because of his atrocious response. It's very apparent that he cannot graciously accept constructive criticism. 99% of his cafe's reviews are awesome. It's bizarre he should care so much about my critical review. It's also apparent that something strange happened at his DC location and not only did he not want his customers to know of its impending closure; he didn't want his employees, landlord, bank, etc....to learn of this either. Now that I've found out what type of man Chef Gaus is I'll be making my own beignets. So far I'm surprised how well they've turned out. The recipe is quite simple and inexpensive. Wish I would've tried 2 years ago and not given this business a dime.

Rachel L

Easy enough to get seats at the bar area but it does fill up fast for tables. Food was done quickly and very good. A lot of food for the price and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Highly recommend for southern style food/breakfast/baked goods.

Jason Chamberlain

We came in here to grab dinner. The food is OK, but not spectacular. It's priced as if it's better than it is. I think that this is really more of a place to get coffee and pastries than a meal, so perhaps that was our problem. The meal wasn't exactly bad, but it wasn't great for what we paid. The location is certainly good.

Burak Yanar

Must work harder to keep customer relation. They take customer for granted. It is all about word of mouth and few more 1 star on google reviews. My order was ready and nobody let me know. Coffee got cold. Presentation is below average. Taste was good.

Adithya Rajagopalan

Love this place. It's the go to breakfast location for me and my girlfriend. Great food. Good mimosas and friendly service.

Dondré S

Food here isn't bad. I like the way the café is set up with the out door seating options. They have a good selection of specialty teas and coffees. I had a BLT and it was good. The service was good and the food came out pretty quickly.

Trinette Cano

Sigh, where do I begin? My sister bought me a $50 gift card for my birthday so we trekked about an hour to get there, excited to try the food. Well after standing in line for 20 minutes we were to that every single item we salivated over on the online menu was "not available today." For example the shrimp and grits: so you have grits today, and shrimp burgers today, but no shrimp AND grits? So I got one of each thinking ok I'll take the shrimp off the burger and put it on my grits. Nope the shrimp burger was some eggy chopped shrimp patty with all the flavor and texture of tofu. The muffaleta was a little better, but it was covered in so much of the olive tapenade you could barely taste the meat. The coffee tastes more like maple syrup than chicory ugh. The beignets were lukewarm and chewy (sigh). Long story short $60 later we cleared our own table and walked across the street to the farmers market where the food was infinitely better and half the price. Oh and be prepared to have to tip BEFORE you get your meal even though there is no actual service.

Kyle Pool

Serious eats when you want down home quality comfort food.

Alex Plott

This place is a nice southern surprise in the middle of Arlington. I had a muffuletta and latte and both were very tasty! I will definitely be coming back here. The only downside is that there is a long wait time from waiting in line to order your food to actually receiving the food. Even with this wait, I still highly recommend it!

Victor Zakaryan

Very unpleasant visit :( Walked in happy and left frustrated. The team member did not even bother greeting me. After waiting for her to at least recognize there is a customer waiting to order, I greeted her twice to get a “hey” for an answer. Well, maybe she is having a bad day to begin with. I ordered two cups of peppermint tea with an extra tea bag and a coffee cake. My total was $11.00. When I asked for an itemized receipt she handed me my credit card receipt. Apparently, she charged me for an extra tea, because I like my tea a bit more concentrated.

Ildar Ibragimov

What have happened to this place? I used to frequent it a lot last year, only to come back to a slow and poor customer service. The server in the photo below has two speeds: slow and snail. Despite of having only 2-3 orders in the queue, it took her almost 20 mins to make a simple cafe au lait. Adding one star for great tasing beignets.

Jeanette Wages Eaglin

Have always loved this place for beignets, iced coffees and lunch but I really love how they are doing their crawfish boils now with a sample sandwich and sides!

Maria Tutino Mejia

It was ok. Staff is friendly, place is cute, beef sandwich was drowning in so much (salty) gravy it was basically impossible to eat, and I had to give up. If they dialed down the salt and offered a light or no gravy option, would be more likely to return. Menu is very narrow with few hot sandwiches. Mostly cold cuts, tuna, etc. Had heard great things about this spot, but at least for lunch just seemed like another meh sandwich place. Maybe other meals are stronger?

Ariel Lopez

Excellent place to breakfast and excellent customer service. Good experience here. Thanks .

Linette Harris

Love this eatery! The atmosphere. people... fantastic! The food is simply marvelous!!!! I highly recommend Bsyou Bakery.

Freddy Figuera

Really good Southern food, I got a incredible breakfast and the place is cozy and excelenet atmosphere

Megan Reyes

Doesn't matter the time of day I come here, the atmosphere is peaceful. A nice get away from the rush outside. The staff is always helpful and super nice. They always have something new for you to try when you visit.

Brenna Holmes

Sad they were out of so many teas, but I love their seasonal iced coffee, so I left happy..

Ragavan Suresh

It's...weird the way this restaurant works. Love the ambiance and vibe, would probably be a great place to study or do some light work. The menu is pretty limited and a bit on the expensive side. I'm yet to find a dish I really enjoy here. Overall it's just very *does the palm wobble*

jo alexander

100% will be back. Quick service and amazing food, but the seating is limited and people are standing lurking around waiting for people to move to sit down. They need more seating and a bigger space.

Hannah Havok

Place is a bit confusing for a first timer. Not everything is on the menu, and prices of things not on the menu are unclear. Prices are a bit expensive for what you get (salads could use more toppings, and the sandwiches don't come with chips or anything.) Staff was friendly enough, but rather unhelpful with how the cafe worked. Tips were pushed even though no one brings out your food or buses your table. All that being said, the place has a nice atmosphere, and some unique eats. Would probably stop by again, but most likely just for tea or a pastry.

Lara Yotti

It’s sad, we ordered the hungover hog and the taters. The same dry, over cooked and pasty potatoes on both plates. The beignets are ok, nothing great either, at least they were warm. Biscuits were also very dry, which to be honest biscuits are hard to mess up. Coffee is good, most people come in for their coffee or ice tea. Pastries are decent, will not be ordering food anymore.

Trader Walt

Easy calming atmosphere.

Michael W

Second time visited with no almond croissants. Think I will move on.

Bernardo Campos

Had a bee hive latte and the farm yogurt. The staff was super friendly. Really enjoyed the granola with the yogurt and the added fruit. The apples that were put on the yogurt were cut right in front of me. I thought that was kinda neat

Mariana Andrade-Bejarano

I keep returning for the food, not necessarily the customer service - I've had them forget or skip my order more than once, or seem upset with me when I inquired and it turns out they had never actually made the hot chocolate... But the vibe, music, the praline scones, grits, and beignets are worth the sit down and long wait.

Gabriella D

The food was filling, smelled wonderful and was bursting with flavor. We went during their weekend brunch and ordered the “dressed” grits, bacon and egg biscuit and the pulled pork breakfast. We will definitely be going back for more.

Anna

When I read "bakery" I don't normally expect to find a place that serves delicious cuisine New Orleans-style. I got their Arm Drip sandwich with roast beef (which was juicy and perfectly seasoned) and caramelized onions. The bun was crusty and delicious, I usually get rid of at least half the bun but here I couldn't resist and ate it all :) The pastry is great, and I enjoyed the herbal tea I ordered too. The service was quick, even though the place was full when I came. Friendly atmosphere, excellent food, and altogether a very pleasant experience.

Michael Webert

Busy, but worth the crowd. Food was very good.

Kolebe S

Food was pretty bland, prices weren't really listed, expensive on the cost to quantity/quality ratio. Maybe they were just having a bad day? Also, tipping before you get your mediocre food?

Scott Kwong

Really tasty drinks and the beignets are amazing!

Jonathon Hauenschild

Great little coffee shop with a New Orleans theme/flair. The staff is great, the coffee strong, and the food is really good. As per the coffee, it has a southern/Louisiana taste - strong with a strong nutty flavor. The espresso beverages are true to definition, not the Starbucks versions. The cappuccino is a 6 ounce poor, while the macchiato is a 4 ounce poor and isn't too sweet. I highly recommend all.

David Cox

Great morning place !

Jae Watkins

I stop by often to see what the special of the day is and it never disappoints. Have dessert, have coffee, have it all

Clinton Lewis

We order a lot of food but it qas all delicious. Will be back.

Ben Vance

One of the best quiches I ever had

Jon Schermerhorn

Pro: The beignets we're delicious. Cons: Service was pretty bad. I was waiting a while for my americano (just espresso plus water) and I noticed people who had ordered after me started getting their hot coffees. When I asked the barista if an americano was coming up she literally rolled her eyes and didn't even respond. I didn't care for the coffee. It's not bad but I drink my coffee black without sugar and I just wasn't a fan of the flavor. The biscuits and gravy have a strong smoke flavor that neither my wife nor I cared for.

Kimberly Lomax

The atmosphere was different being that I'm not from the area, it was self seating and self busing. We didn't stay because it was really packed. The beignets were pretty good. I thought they'd be fluffier but I ate them nonetheless.

Meenakshi Paluvai

My mom and I stopped in a few weeks ago. Staff were friendly; my mom loved the dressed grits, and so were the pastry items we got. Vibe was relaxed and cozy.

Luke Kumanchik

Great ambience, good coffee, acceptable pastries.

Samantha Stirmel

It’s a little out of the way for my taste but the atmosphere and the food makes up for it. Not only that but their coffees will have you awake all day long. If they have it I would recommend their Buzzin Beehive coffee!

Valerie Morris

Worth the trip! The pastry tastes so fresh and light. Great service, amazing food!

Farooq Akbar

The latte was amazingly good, along with biscuits for breakfast

Noah Burke

Consistently great Creole food. I come back every few months and always leave satisfied. Highly recommend the gumbo, muffuletta and the king cake when it is available.

Becky Bowman

I'm no expert, but tasty New Orleans food as far as I'm concerned. Loved the King Cake!

Angela Ramos

Pretty much the most authentic Cafe you will find in the neighborhood. Hot and cold beverages and food to enjoy!

Rebecca Clement

I’ve heard a lot about the brunch at this place and was excited to try it out. Unfortunately I don’t think they serve brunch on weekdays I ended up going with the egg and cheese on a biscuit which was really nice. Also the beignets are very tasty and the hot chocolate is perfect. The place was a bit crowded so we were lucky to find a table, but service was pretty quick. Would definitely go back.

Erik Ryan

Good food and a pretty standard selection of coffees, sometimes tough to find seating as it gets pretty busy.

Alonzo Zarzycki

If you're looking for some soul food, stop looking, this is the place. The best in town.

Flo Lavaran

Great for a quick bite. LOVE the beignets!

Bruce Holst

Best biscuits and beignets in the area

g gc

This is a wonderful little gem located in Arlington. Their food is delicious and their drinks are even better. We ate breakfast here daily even though our hotel offered free breakfast. The ambiance was that of a great little cafe and the food was great perk. There are bistro tables located outside as well. It truly is the quintessential cafe...what every Starbucks and Scooters wishes that they were.

Quiendra Brown

We were staying in DC and took a random chance on this place as the menu is very appealing. Coming all the way from Texas, this food is amazing. The hungover hog left me speechless and I usually have a lot to say. Definitely try the mac n cheese, it was tomato and bacon flavor today, quite delicious. And the beignets go without saying, fantastic. I’m impressed, staff was friendly and helpful but didn’t rush us to order. If we are in the area again, this will be a priority to eat here again!

V H

Love the LSU and Saints decor. Also they call your order by Parishes. Cute!

Shekoda Petty

This bakery is EVERYTHING! I am so anxious to visit New Orleans after visiting this restaurant. The food and ambiance was exhilarating. The food, decor, and music offered an authenticity that I have yet to see before. I certainly recommend eating here. And the beignets.....YUM!!!

William Faulkner

As a longtime resident of Lincoln Parish, this place is pretty great. Wide selections of both prepared hot foods or tasty pastries at the full service coffee bar. With happy hour and beer on tap / bottled you could stay here all day and be in want of nothing. Opens at 7am for a quick cup of coffee (honestly though 6 would be better - make it happen?)

Julian Drabner

Great food at great prices. Went on a Saturday morning for brunch and it was pretty busy. They have plenty of seating inside and a little bit outside. Has a cozy feel to it. The menu is definitely inspired by the Cajun cuisine and has something to offer for everyone

Amy Wilkinson

The beignets are AMAZING you have to try them, the coffee and food is really good too. The seating can be a little cramped when they are busy but it’s usually doable. Great place to sit and chat and amazing location right by the Court House metro

Eric Newman

If you happen to be in NoVA and want a taste of NoLA, this is your place! Take it to go and enjoy it back in your hotel, or sit and enjoy the atmosphere and the beignets.

Echata Youssouf

The corn bread is amazing

Todd Allgier

Not much to write home about. The coffee was okay and they had a few snacks. Not much of a menu. I think they only survive because of the location as it relates to Arlington County Government. They have signs on the table that you need at least three people to be allowed to sit at a booth. Didn't feel very welcoming or friendly.

Tim Presley

It was okay. I was a little disappointed. They kept giving me the wrong order abs the girl making the drinks was nasty and rude.

Robert Ames

Bayou is a fun place to stop by for some New Orleans style food. The staff is friendly, and the food is usually quite good and flavorful. Sometimes, the seating can be a bit challenging, but that speaks to the restaurant's popularity. Getting a good beignet in DC is a great thing - enjoy it along with their chickaree coffee for that real New Orleans feel. I wish the chickaree coffee was warmer - it often feels on the cool side.

Lovepreet Aujla

Good coffee and the menu has a ton of items. It can get really busy but the staff keeps the line going well enough. My only issue wit the place was that tables aren't kept too clean during peak business hours.

Doris Ford

Great food, reminded me a little of New Orleans

Great Authentic Cajun Atmosphere and Food in Virginia!!!

Get the beignets. You will thank me. Everything else is also great, but seriously, don't miss those.

Elizabeth Goodwin

Beignets are amazing, and I heard the deviled eggs were as well. If you plan to work from here bring a fully charged device, plugs were sparse!

Kevin Platt

"Arm drip" (roast beef Po boy) was very yummy, charming decor

Bradley B

Their breakfast food was not good and they had a small selection. Go somewhere else for your morning meal.

Danny Kear

It's hard to find a genuinely good beignet outside of NOLA, but these guys get it done. Good coffee too.

Andrea Mack

The Benenet were great !

Karan Sandhu

Great breakfast options. Seating is limited and the place is very congested.

Paul Galloway

It is a nice airy space, good coffee and service, parking of course is not easy but close to the metro

Katherine Chisholm

Not what I expected for a breakfast sandwich. It was only $6 but the egg was fake, turkey sausage just seemed off, and the English muffin was hard. I had a breakfast quiche before and that was pretty bland but today’s breakfast I was not a fan of. I may try again for lunch/ happy hour based on the other reviews.

This is the place to go for beignets in Arlington! I bring their beignets in to work and numerous folks from New Orleans comment that they are very authentic - and they are SO tasty. The restaurant is also a charming coffee shop with a NOLA theme. You can get chickoree coffee a full range of pastries and breakfast sandwhiches. The atmosphere is perfect to meet someone for coffee. Sorry, haven't been there for lunch, only morning stuff and did I mention the beignets!

Marcia

Stylish little bakery cafe with Louisiana charm. Beignet's are delicious!! Lemonade, fabulous, but SWEET!! Although, the gumbo didnt look anything like the picture nor my ideal what a gumbo should be with sausage and shrimp you can actually see, it was still tasty as a blended type version, topped with rice.
