Our first time going through this place, we had very high expectations due to us being Colombian and know how well the food can be. But we were thoroughly disappointed the pinto beans were oddly sweet and had this very awful after taste, the Carne Asado, was bland and tasted as of it were cooked next to fish, my son who ordered the Chicken nuggets was for the first time not appetized to eat. The rice looked as it were premade and left out for days in clear wrap, and the soup was all water and no broth. The only real good thing was the chicken my son ordered, but it would take a special kind of person to really screw up fried chicken. Overall the food is you get what you payed for, a very poor example of my countries food and culture at display.

Best Colombian restaurant around. My wife loves the pan de bono, with her pregnancy I am driving there just to buy the bread. If I were to point out a downside, they only serve black coffee. Unfortunately too many people walked away with the milk and creamers. So they took them away. Even if you ask for some, they simply don't have any...what a shame!

Ordered Bandeja Paisa, Carne Asada and yuca fríes. -They don't know how to cook their steaks. Both the carne asada and the steak in the bandeja paisa were dry yet the fat wasn't rendered. The beans lacked flavor and the rice was lumpy. The egg on the other hand was cooked to perfection (over easy) and the plantains were sweet and tender. The chorizo, chicharon, arepa and yuca fríes were great. They do have a great bakery selection and it all looks delicious. I will try this place again but will not order anything with steak.

I am Colombian and this place was good to buy some Colombian food like buñuelos (ball of cheese and corn flour deep fried) and pandebono (cheese bread made with yuca flour). There cazuela de frijoles (Bean plate) was good but the chicharrón (deep fried pork belly) could have been better. The ajiaco wasn't that good and that is the problem with the place that the consistency of the food it is not standar, also the sitting is a mess.

Visited Cafe Aroma while in the area, it was recommended to us as having a good variety of Colombian pastries and the famous Empanadas. When I got there the selection was more a mix of many items from Central America with a few goodies from Colombia, went ahead and purchased a Roscon and some Empanadas which turned out to be stale (day old ) would I go back? maybe, I will call first and find out what day they are made fresh. Overall it is a good try to bring some latin taste to the area.

I was told to try this place as it was suppose to be the best Colombian restaurant in Virginia, never got to taste the food. Ordered and paid and requested my money back. Never got my table cleaned after asking twice. All the empty tables were dirty full of dirty dishes. My husband threw a lot of the trash from the table we sat at when that really was not his place to. The staff is rude and crazy to think their job is to simply bring the food out!. I saw a bunch of dirty plates on top of the trash cash and tray return. Just gross!. We waited over 10mins for our refund and no tables ever cleaned. Don't want to imaging how they treat their kitchen area. Beyond disgusting!, stay away!.

My boyfriend and I decided to taste Colombian cuisine because we have many Colombian friends and they speak wonderful things about their food, so we went yesterday to AROMA CAFE and ordered 2 Bandejas Paisas, and omg it was so good, big plate for a razonable price. I loved their Chicharrón, and also I loved their customer service. A only thing I could suggest to the owner of this place is if they could please peel off the avocado, I think it will looks better on the plate. I highly recommend this restaurant, good customer service, razonable prices and friendly staff.

Wow, I’m so glad this place exists. The closest Colombian restaurants are up in silver spring which is not ideal for NOVA residents. I really enjoyed this place they have every Colombian dish you would want and it comes at an affordable price. Definitely will be back regularly.

I am originally from Colombia and this place is my favorite in the DMV area! Everything I’ve had is very authentic and even my native mother had a Bandeja Paisa and she was almost roughy to tears by the how authentic it was! The owner is a serious people person - my boyfriend and I love her, but I would say I have always seen great customer service. Must try- papa rellena, empanadas, buñuelos, panebonos, arepa de choco, chicharrón, and for sure the bandeja paisa. This is the closest thing to home in this area and I’d say is better than the Colombian restaurant in silver spring MD. Incredible food and if you want to try Colombian this is a great start!!

Heaven on earth. This place should be turned into a restaurant. As a Colombian, I highly recommend it. The food is as authentic as it gets and the service is pretty amazing. Some of the reviews make reference to tight quarters, but sometimes you can't have it all. I think it foots the bill for what it is and service is typical Colombian, just nice!!

Good food! Only went for breakfast so I can't comment on the rest of the menu. I had Huevis Rancheros, which was filling. Came with a meat based tomato sauce on the top of homemade corn tortillas. No bacon though! Only chorizo and blood sausage. I chose the chorizo which is pre-made and sitting in the window ready for picking. Not cooked to order. Not certain if this is Colombian style so I won't judge. I prefer my meat cooked to order, I'm just saying. Coffee tastes like it's from 7-Eleven. Maybe they had a bad day or brewing coffee in mass waters it down (?). Clean environment and service is good!

I’m sitting here, in the restuarant writing this, as I feel like vomiting. This review is coming from a non-Colombian, but one who visited Colombia and had the same dish in Colombia. I wasn’t expecting it to be exactly the same, but not to want to vomit either. The steak, was so dry you could barely swallow it. And it wasn’t cooked well. The sausages didn’t really taste great either. The beans were decent. Having heard this is the ‘best’ Colombian place around here I came to check it out and I am extremely disappointed.

After reading some of the reviews I was skeptical about going to this place. However, I can tell you that this is the best place to eat Colombian food in the Northern VA area. The comments about management are clearly outdated. The staff is friendly and attentive and the price for the food is UNBEATABLE. We had some empanadas and buñuelos and they were delicious! They also have coffee delights, arequipe and a lot more sweet treats that any Colombian would love. Visit this place! I promise you won't be disappointed.

Aroma cafe is a good restaurant located in Springfield, Virginia its speciality is Colombian food, the dishes are generous, I had tried Fried red snapper which is reaaally good and it tasted like a geunine latinoamerican fried fish. I also tried the carne asada it was delicious too. You also can try lulo juice, which is a Colombian fruit with a very particular taste. Enjoy it!!!!

The food is not great but is ok what I don't like about this place is the service if you are not familiar with Colombian food and you ask them about a particular dish they ignore you or give you a short answer basically you have go for what you see on the pictures besides that they expect you to give a tip when you order TO GO specially if you pay with a credit card they will show a computer screen with a Tip set amount base on your purchase total ..I don't mind to give a tip if I eat in the restaurant eventually that is just fair but TO GO ????

I have gone many other times before at the beginning all plates were good and generous now things have changed pandebono on several occasions tasted stale maybe 1 or 2 days old to be safe I buy one taste and then I buy more. The owner a lady forgot her name seldom is there and she fails to call you back...when you do get her she is never receptive to your complaint. I give her 0 stars on the other hand the cashiers and staff make up for what she lacks. I live in Springfield and they are the only Colombian place around but I'm getting tired of stale food. I will drive to silver springs MD great Colombian place there owned by paisa's great service oriented they stand behind their products La Fonda Paisa and Arepa Pues....wished the open a place near us in Springfield VA all for now I hope these people read this Amen Disappointed Colombian Ivan

Good Colombian food...considering that there are no other Colombian restaurants near by. I am Colombian and I agree with another post that perhaps they are a little flat flavorwise. Not enough sitting and tight place to even to walk so you better off ordering via uber eats. After enjoying my lunch I wanted a coffee and to take some buñuelos or pan de bonos home, but had to do a line that was not moving. Ended up leaving after 10 mins in line. A little frustrating, next time Uber eats. 3 stars review because of the establishment. Food was satisfying, the kids and husband loved it.

Great authentic Colombian flavors, good sized portions and very reasonably priced, so overall, a great value. The “almojábanas” and other bakery items are also good. The cafe does get crowded because of demand and seating becomes a challenge at times, but we continue to go back (with some extra time to find seating) because it likely has the best Colombian fare in the DMV area.

I was not impressed. I got the Colombian platter that had a little of everything, and the only thing I liked from it was the Chicharron. The steak was dry and diner quality. The rice was good, but the beans lacked the Colombian flavor. Was really hoping it would be good. I think they need to focus only on Colombian food, and not Central American food, since they are a Colombian restaurant. The staff was super friendly though.

First of all I am very happy to have found a Colombian restaurant in Northern Virginia. HOWEVER. It is obvious this place is horribly managed. I am hoping that the owners read this review and take it into consideration because I would hate that the only Colombian place near me would close. Pros: *Food is delicious Cons: *Under-staffed: I went on a Sunday (traditionally the busiest day of week for these establishments). By my count: 1 cook, 1 cook assistant, 1 food runner, 1 cashier. *No menus/No waiters: You order and pay at cashier. You don't know what items cost and have to ask the cashier. This leads to long waiting times. *Empanadas cold: i believe this is due to not having a proper food warming system. So until these things are taken care of we will probably limit our visits to take out or the once in a blue moon visit. I was hoping to have a regular spot but the cons outweigh the pros.
