Last Saturday I went here with a group. Upon arriving at 8:30pm we were unsure if we would have 5 or 6 people with us. When I told the hostess this information she proceeded to tell me that I needed to make my mind up on what it would be because if it were 5 people we could be seated immediately but if it were 6 people it would take 45 mins - the restaurant was half empty due to the time of the evening. Despite our rude encounter with the hostess we had a fabulous dinner with drinks and an unbelievable kind waitress. We shared the mozzarella sticks for an app and their Alfredo sauce to dip them in was out of this world. Everyone had a different burger and were extremely satisfied. Would definitely go back again!

Service was excellent but honestly not happy my bacon on the burger I ordered was not cooked at all ...unfortunately I got really sick I took home half the burger and you can clearly see that the bacon wasnt cooked at all ...it was my first time there and I'm very disappointed

Good food, terrible service. Asked to sit on the patio with our dogs. We were quickly seated on a mostly empty patio. After 10 minutes a manager asked if we had seen our server, we told her no and 5 min later we saw our server. Food was good. But as I am typing this review I am wishing that I had a drink...too bad no one has asked to refill my glass the entire dinner.

I love that they have vegetarian friendly options, and the border fries are amazing. But every time I sit at the bar they always get one aspect of my order wrong. That's the only complaint I have, and it's a minor one for sure!

Very cool atmosphere as soon as you walk in. There are so many burgers to choose from, so everyone can get something they like. I got "The Alamo" and was very satisfied with the proportions of the burger. Staffing was very polite and quick. It is a little pricey, but you do get a LOT of food. The French fries were great as well. It's a fun downtown restaurant to go to when you want to do something different.

Wow, the burgers are out of this world! (you have to try atleast once). Their drink menu is not bad either also the place has a classic 1930's vibe to it, so not the place to go if you looking to really party out or get trashed.

My first and last visit was Friday. I order a beer and decided to order a soup. The soup was served in less than two minutes. The soup was cold, so I returned the soup. I was only given 25% off on the soup. I had to paid for a soup that was probably old and cold.

Great, well hidden restaurant. Wide selection of beers to include many locally brewed beers. They always have at least one nitro on the board. Burgers are an experience! You get a great burger for about 15$ which for the quality, is a steal!

Not impressed at all. The bun is twice the size of the burger. The broccoli tasted like it was steamed over used shrimp water. We were here for my sister's birthday and we asked the waitress twice if she could take a quick pic of our dinner party and she refused twice saying she was too busy. on top of all that the food is over priced for what you get. All in all I will not be going back to the burger bar.

The burger was a bit small for the price (the only reason why im giving a 4 star). Nonetheless, great experience would definitely go again to try other things!

Absolutely delicious food. Waiter Chris was very attentive to details and ensuring everyone continually had everything they needed and wanted without being pushy. Drinks were good (more accurately, Bam Bam Crush). Atmosphere wasn't overwhelmingly loud or obnoxious. All in all, a great experience.

Tried the vegan black bean mushroom burger and wanted to love it but it was awful. On the other hand, the service was great and the fries were delicious so the overall experience was fine, I wouldn't want to give low stars for potentially one bad menu item. Other burgers looked delicious but I do not recommend the veggie for anyone with meat restrictions. Atmosphere was dark and cool, it was a good spot for a beer or to sit at the bar for a drink.

Large assortment of craft beers (the nitro moo moo was very good). The bar can make pretty much any drink you'd ever want (the sangria was delicious). Great selection of hamburgers. The scratch made sauces are legit. The fried pickles and wings are great to start the meal if you've got a decent sized group. My wife loves the goat cheese (she always gets a "That Guy" burger topped with fried green tomato and goat cheese with an extra side of goat cheese).

Nice place, went here for a date night and was able to get right in and be seated. The waitress was extremely nice and very helpful. The food here is excellent and is all locally sourced. Definitely recommend stopping by here if you get the chance.

A place dedicated to burgers? Why not, right? 1. The waitress was terrible. We had to ask other walking by waitresses to help bring things we needed because she never returned to check on us. 2. We ordered two alcoholic-beverages 3 times and it was never brought til finally the waitress appeared and pretended they didn’t have it. 3. I ordered a simple beef, cheese, egg, lettuce, and tomato burger. It came with no tomato and lettuce, took 2 waitresses and 10 minutes to wait for it, and when I finally got it..... it came with an added ingredient: mushrooms (which I’m allergic too). So, needless to say, I will not be returning. -The house fries are good.

80\20 burger bar is my all time favorite burger place in virginia. Their food is so amazing. The burgers have so much flavor and the fries are always seasoned perfectly. They have a great selection of burgers. The bar is really great as well. It is alitle on the expensive side but to me it is well worth it.

Delicious food. The bloody Mary I ordered tasted a bit funny, but the burger itself was delicious. The atmosphere was relaxed and casual, with several TVs playing sports and one even playing a Harry Potter movie. (Guess that was for the kids?) Not sure what mix the bloody Mary was made with though, but it had a really "off" taste. The salad was fine, but nothing special or innovative. We got an order of friend pickles, and when I say "order", I mean they literally sent out a jar of fried pickles. I've never seen that many fried pickles in an order before. I am not exaggerating when I say that it looked like they took a jar of dill pickles, battered, fried and then put them on a plate. That alone was almost a meal by itself. The burger was delicious, it had roasted red peppers on it (but I feel it was obvious they came out of a jar and not made in house), and feta cheese, which had become slightly melted and delicious. All in all, I'd eat here again, but I probably won't order a bloody Mary.

This place is just not very good in my humble opinion. I have been on 3 separate occasions and Everytime I am disappointed. The ambiance is decent, it has a good vibe and setting and is a relaxing place to eat. They have an extremely large beer selection. If you like beer, then this place would probably be worth it just for that. They have far fewer options for wine and spirits but if you like drinking then that aspect won't disappoint. My biggest complaint is with the quality of the food. The burgers are not very good, mine have been over cooked Everytime I went. The fries have also been burned every time. Five guys makes a better burger and fries. Please do yourself a favor and ignore this place. if you want a good burger in Norfolk, go to five guys. lastly the service leaves a lot to be desired. My waitress literally forgot one part of the drink order and it was me and one other person! Because she insisted on not writing down our order has if two impress us with her mediocre memory! She also never came by to refill my water or to check up on us. Information do not go to 80/20 Burger bar it will break your heart. the best burger and fries in Norfolk is currently five guys. I'm trying to find someone to dethrone them but 80/20 Burger bar is not it.

It was just ok and that is being nice. I felt like the fries were old and nasty or fried in old oil. The burger was good but the dry bun ruined it. Once the bun was removed it was better. The highlight was the beer selection..they had a pretty decent selection...other than that I'd say there are much better places to get a burger in Hampton Roads that taste way better!!

I usually like this place, but tonight I wanted to try something new--I decided to go bun-less and get my burger on a big bed of lettuce. I called to place the order for pick-up and asked the hostess if that was okay, and although she seemed put out by my request (not really sure why she would be), she said it was fine. I made sure to specify MORE THAN ONCE that I wanted extra lettuce. Each time, she said it could be done. I picked up my burger and made the mistake of not checking it until I got home, and found only TWO pieces of lettuce. When I looked at the receipt, I saw that there was a note about no bun but no note about extra lettuce or anything like that, so I know she didn't even bother trying to tell the kitchen. And it wasn't like it was so busy that she couldn't either, because when I went in place was barely a quarter full. So, I ended up paying $13 for a meat patty with cheese and a cup of broccoli. It sucks, because they really do make good food, but apparently their service could use some work. If a place like Five Guys can handle a request like that, there doesn't seem to be any reason that they can't as well. If you're looking to make a request 'outside of the bun' as it were, you're better off either doing it dining in or at a different restaurant altogether.

The service is amazing - friendly, attentive staff. BUT, the burgers are average at best. The 2 things that irk me most are 1) a hamburger bun that's cold, thick, dense, and not toasted on the grill and 2) French fries that are all 1/2" long. For ~$15, I would expect a burger on a toasted bun, with fries that aren't the "bottom of the barrel" cut, or the scrap leftovers. Two pretty simple things to address that could really take 80/20 up a notch.

Advertised as creamy, but tasted like it was culturing into cheese. Super greasy, and the first one I had, crab meat, not fresh and super cold. Freezing. So disappointing. Asked for a replacement, and still a greasy mess of not so creamy chowder, with hot crab meat. Possibly microwaved. Side salad looked great, but the Sherry Vinaigrette was so oily. No taste of vinegar, what's so ever.

Maybe it was an off night, but my fries were so over cooked that the potato inside had disintegrated, and the fries were rock hard. My burger was ok. I normally prefer a char-grilled burger, and I'm positive these were griddle cooked. The meat itself had zero flavor as well. Maybe they need to pile on all of their toppings to hide that? It definitely wasn't worth $14. Hard pass.

If you like burgers and beer, this place is for you. Large selection of burgers and beers on tap. The service was great and we had a party of about 12 with no call ahead. The burgers are on point and they have a selection for everyone. Just fyi the NYE burger, fries, and wings... when they tell you they are really hot... believe them...I always complain about my spicy food not being hot enough, and these lit me up.

The burgers are interesting in their menu description but unfortunately after reading the way the food is described I was left a little disappointed with the actual delivery. The first time we went here a year ago, it was great. Yesterday, different story. The wait staff was excellent and very understanding, but they couldn't make up for the food. The burgers were chewy, which is weird because we ordered them on the rare side. It was like there was lots of connective tissue in the meat. The brussel sprouts were like wood. Couldn't even cut them with the table knife. Sent them back to be cooked more and still had a couple that were too tough to chew. Garlic on the fries tasted like old powder. Maybe they just downgraded the quality of their ingredients overall?

They had a unique selection of burger preparation. I had the "Hades" burger with fresh jalapenos, which was delicious. Lettuce, tomato and onion must be requested. Service was friendly. The place was very clean. Prices were a little steep and they automatically included a 20% tip into the billing. Party of 6, just water, $106.

One of the best burger spots in town, cozy family friendly environment, but you can also sit at the bar or outside on the patio. Ghent is a very vibrant and always active part of the city with lots to do, stop in and try any one of the many choices on their menu, I have a different burger every time I stop in and have never been displeased by the quality of food or service. Price is very reasonable compared to the large portions, the fries are outstanding.

GREAT burgers n fries. Other things are okay. Stick with the burgers. Staff is friendly. I'll be back.

I have been coming to this place for nearly a year and a half and I never been so disgusted as I was this evening. Not only did the server seem like she was bored out of her mind but when my burger arrived way undercooked for a medium well, the only reply was "okay". No apologies, no "let me fix that for you". She took the food away, came back 3 minutes later with the same burger, bite taken out of it and everything with a new bun and toppings. At this point I was disgusted, and lost my appetite, and when brought to her attention, she confirmed that they did in fact place the burger back onto the grill... I don't know how sanitary that is for anybody and I can only imagine this has happened before because she seemed very okay with it. Again, no apologies or anything. She did take it off the bill except my half drunken tea. I will never recommend this place, or even step foot in never again. This is just lousy and lazy business. They all need to take their food handling courses again if they think this is good service.

Not gonna lie, I get this feminist death to all men, I'm a millenial and I'm entitled everything, but I'm also a cool hipster so look at my tattoos kinda and if you dont believe in what I believe in then you're fascist kinda "vibe" Other than that it's a really great place, food is good, me and my friend had some beer that I thought I'll never see again unless if we went to Germany again. The people are nice like most places, but they seem a little more engaging than most retail/customer service kinda place. Place is clean nice interior, makes you feel like you're apart of the art. I'll have to watch what I speak about when I bring my friend or date, dont want to offend any ears. Not saying it would just dont want to chance it. Lol On a serious note I do like this place I will be back. I'd give it 5 starts, but it lacked "diversity" thus the feminist vibe.

I've been coming to 80/20 for a couple of years now, and I have to say that at first I wasn't very impressed. I'm not a *huge* burger fan, so this probably isn't the place for me lol.. but I have most recently tried the "shelle belle" burger which is topped with delicious mushrooms and goat cheese. I left of one star because there is a bit of inconsistency with their temps. I usually order my burgers medium, but here I have to order medium well because their medium tends to be a bit on the rare side. I wouldn't recommend getting the beets, unless you like cold, seemingly canned beets. I believe the menu said roasted and they definitely weren't that. Aside from this, my experience at 80/20 has been pretty good. Their service is almost always great, and when it's not I can chalk it up to a bad day because that's gonna happen everywhere. I recommend sitting outside in evening- post fly time.

Delicious American Fare! There are plenty of reviews about how great the burgers are, so I won't elaborate further. Instead, give yourself a treat and do not skip the appetizer. GET THE MOZZARELLA STICKS!!! The cheese is soft, delicious, and house made and the breading is flavorful. They always come out piping hot, so take your first bites cautiously. The mozzarella sticks are about twice the size of the sticks that you are used to and is the stuff dreams are made of. The menu gives you an option of the marinara sauce or Alfredo, but please, please, ask your waiter(ess) to bring you both. YOU NEED TO EXPERIENCE BOTH SAUCES! Trying these out was one of my best decisions in life. Do yourself a favor and get these while you're waiting for you burger!

Everything BUT the burgers are exceptional. The meat patty tasted rather strange. It's what I would imagine a vegan burger would taste like - meatless. I have eaten at different restaurants across the US ranging from fast food to Michelin rated. If Jimmy John's made burgers it would be better. Definitely did not live up to the hype.

Staff was great, they have an amazing bottle collection (beer), as well as a nice variety on tap. The fries were good, wings amongst the best I have had, and the burgers are out of this world good. I've got to cross the water to get here, and I will be back even if I have to swim.

I was looking for a good burger place and i found it! I like the atmosphere, everyone was polite and the food was delicious. The only issue I had was the music was a bit loud to talk over. The menu was really good and funny to read over. I had the Alamo and it was awesome, my friend had the nanny and said it was surprisingly good.

Kiki was awesome. It was our first time there and she made us feel like regulars. Only had a quick app (pot. skins) but it was delicious. Everyone around us ordered full meals and the food looked amazing. Large portions and everything made in house. Will be back soon with a bigger appetite!

ILocated on a corner lot. Patio seating available. Insodr is cost but large with Brock walls and chuexh pew booths. There is room to add tables and chair a but there aren't any which makes it fwwlnopwn. Dim lighting. I had the wrinkled necked mule which was whiskey and ginger aoda which was delicious. The mwnu is a bit peicey and is either burgers or chockem sandwich or ahrimp poboy. No blemder or make shake a amoothoes or daquiria. The lodades friws with cheese and chili was huge and delicious $7. The Bourbon chicken wings were $8 for six and even though friwd were a little "wet" but the sauce was yummy. The burgers were good but again pricey. The fries came with different seasonimg pairongs a for extra cost like cayenne mix etc and they had at least 4 different spreads for the burgers which were unique. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Open late

Super variety of burgers. Got the one with duck confit on it. Not as much duck as I'd have liked, but worth the price. Fries were good and the wait staff was awesome. Super polite and even provided an extra side from a kitchen mistake. 10/10 Would go back.

Very few places I can go to that can satisfy both my love of local feel and have truly special food. You get a more personal small business feel and get things like spicy garlic fries and bison burgers. I honestly love this place.
