This is a wonderful local place that has survived the ages. The staff is kind, not in a rush. The menu is extensive with lots of pasta options, wings, breads, sauces and inventive deserts. Every week it's packed on weekends. Prices are right and the owner knows how to take care of the locals! Thank you Scott!

The food is excellent. Subs, pizza salads even the maple cheesecake ! The only bad thing about this place is that since it's so popular, the service can be a little slower than you'd like. Not a lot of room in the dining area but enough to enjoy. Overall it's a good place

Their pizza was delectable and hot straight from the oven. Zachary’s is obviously a town favorite as many of the locals were coming in to dine. The service is friendly and the prices were not out of the range of the food. Would recommend to all visitors if they are looking for a family friendly pizza joint. I would not mind returning.

Ordered a sm steak & cheese pizza and fries $19.00. Pizza had cheese, mushrooms and fine slithers of green pepper NO STEAK? Opened pizza box at pick up and I said this is not my pizza. I was assured that Yes this is a steak & cheese. The steak is under mushroom & cheese. Cheese was nasty, stuck to teeth yuck.No Steak WHATS SO EVER ?

We went in to Zachary's for our Mothers Day dinner and couldn't have been happier with our visit! The restaurant is locally owned and operated, the staff is friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is exactly what you'd want for a night out with the family.

The pizza here was AMAZING, just the right solidity(not super crusty or super soggy) there was a perfect amount of toppings on the pizza(I recommend the buffalo pizza) my friend got a calzone which was also really good! And it didn't end up being to pricey either! They have two amazing drinks there too, if you haven't tried "not your father's root beer" they have it here and it's amazing I went on a limb and tried the sangria cider and that was also very good! Really on my top 10 list of pizza places around VT I'm almost debating on getting more today even though I was there just yesterday

Please avoid using cash here unless you want to be short-changed by your waitress and then lied to. Besides thievery, the food here is honestly not very good. The appetizers weren’t freshly made (frozen mozzarella sticks stuck into an oven), the pizza is chain-store level quality, and the prices are high, especially for the location. Service is subpar, with apps taking almost 30 minutes to come out in a nearly empty restaurant. Avoid if possible, especially since there are multiple quality places to eat in the area.

The food and service were great my pizza and salads were prepared quickly. They looked and tasted excellent. The price was a little high for the size of the pizza if it was a little bigger it would have been a more acceptable price. I did like how the takeout menu was similar to the in house menu and the they are open later than all the other restaurants in the area.

High chairs were absolutely disgusting. Asked for them to be cleaned, and was told they couldn't remove the caked on food. So we had to clean it ourselves. 4 out of the four high chairs were like this.

After going here several times, I would say that what you are going to get is a soggy, low quality pizza. What happens to us is we run into the evening doing chores and realize we're too tired to cook, so we look to fast food in the area, which doesn't lend too many options. So every once in a while we reluctantly choose Zachary's thinking maybe just this one time it will be good, like it used to be. But this last time we ordered, we ordered 2 pizzas, one with mushrooms, pepperoni and ham; the other with ham, green peppers and onions. We got home, eagerly opened the boxes and....disappointment again. I would like to know how these places slice the vegetables so thin they are transparent. We had to look hard for the ham because it too was so thin it blended in with the cheese - most likely lunch meat like the other post here indicated. Now we're no master chefs, but that's not how you make a good pizza. We choked most of it down, but it was not fully cooked and the cheap cheese and lack of flavor due to the almost non-existent toppings we ordered sat on our stomachs like a rock. Last time we order from there. So that leaves the Reservoir (yes they do maker pizza) and the Blue Stone, which is very good, but expensive. If you want a great pizza, and are willing to drive to Stowe, try Piecasso - never a disappointment. If you are beat, tired, and too hungry to make a rational choice for Waterbury local pizza, do Chinese.

This restaurant was pretty great. The staff was very accommodating despite it being incredibly busy on a Friday night. I need to make special mentioned of the most horrible customers harassing the awesome waitress. These rude women were old enough to know that shouting "it's dryer than a desert in here" is NOT the way to get more water during a dinner rush. I found them so very reprehensible for this behavior and was appalled to hear that this evening routine occurs weekly. The poor staff. The food was great though. We got 2 different personal sized specialty pizzas and they were perfect for a meal.

A walked a mile for this pizza! Totally worth it. These guys have been around for 50yrs and it shows. Not too thick, not too thin, not too greasy, not too much toppings, not too little, it's just right. The small would probably be a bit much for me usually, but I do still have to waddle back up the hill to the hotel... There is also beer, wine, local art on the walls, and WiFi!

Just don't go. Inattentive server. Waited over 35 minutes with zero explanation why the food took so long and there was only one other table of 2. Tables were left dirty with beer bottles on them when we entereed for the entire time we were there. The food we ordered the Sampler, wings,fries,mozzarella sticks, garlic bread was ok. We never saw the server again until I stood up and requested the check which didn't happen immediately. We paid the bill,left a minimal tip and agreed this was one of the worst visits to a restaurant we had, which was especially sad. The person I was with went there many times growing up and had fond memories. It may need Hell's Kitchen's help.

Informal place, good food, great prices, and just about the friendliest wait staff in Waterbury. Pizza came out quickly, and they were able to do a special order for us (close to an option that was on the menu, but not exactly). Zachary's isn't anything special, but the price is right and service is fast and friendly.
