The burgers we're super great! My girlfriend got hers cooked rare and said it was perfect. The french fries were also good, and the pickles were unique and tasty! We were driving home after a day of skiing and stopped randomly at this place, which is off the beaten path, but totally worth it.

An upscale Burger and beer place. Grass fed beef cooled to order, great fries. Casual in the Vermont fashion. A bit pricey, a hearty grilled cheese burger will cost you around$15, but delicious stuff. A full chalkboard of local brews completes the scene. A very Vermont experience.

Not a good move on her part , We are local and in the service industry and know what a potato is worth, and how simple it is to satisfy a coustomer with a little courtesy. We wont be back!

We stopped in for dinner after seeing the Christmas lights. The set up of the place is a little off putting, but the food was good. You order at the counter (the menus are written on the walls) and then find your own seat and wait for the buzzer to indicate your meal is done. This made the staff and such feel a little less than personable, but we went with it. The burgers were good and the fries were just right, but again, the atmosphere and close quarters to other tables had us feeling out of place. All in all though, it wasn't a bad experience.

This is the burger place you've been missing. Everything else you have eaten burger-wise was just training for The Worthy Burger experience. I count the days between visits. The flavors haunt my dreams. This is the kind of place that can tell you the name of the pig your bacon came from. Seriously fresh and delicious. Try the parmesan fries if you go and enjoy a good beer with the best burger you'll ever have.

One of my favorite places to eat. The wood fired burgers are delicious and they have a constantly rotating selection of craft beers. There always seems to be at least one offering from Hill Farmstead and Lawson's on tap. My kids love the famous handcrafted Rookies Root Beer from Burlington, which is also always on tap. Very easy to get to when heading north or south on I89. Just get off at exit 2 when heading north and exit 3 when heading south. Following your meal you will get back on the highway at exit 3 when traveling north or exit 2 when heading south.

Had the best time here on our way from Burlington to Boston- the perfect distance for a mid-way rest stop. The staff here is awesome! Took our order flawlessly and even offered to ring up our coffees we wanted to take to-go while ordering our food so we didn’t have to bear the line again. Real solid.

Absolutely the best burger I have ever had it was large, perfectly cooked over a wood fired grill. The smoky beef and bacon were incredible. Try the maple buffalo chicken wings after all you are in Vermont. The 2 bathrooms were clean and the rest of the restaurant was as well, sit outside and enjoy the unpretentious atmosphere.

Absolutely worth the detour! We stopped at The Worthy Burger on our way back from Stowe to Boston for lunch. Although it was a bit off our path, the reviews made it seem worth it and our lunch absolutely lived up to the hype. Cozy atmosphere, order at the counter and pick up your food when the buzzer sounds. Sitting outside on picnic benches let us soak up the end of summer sun while waiting for our food. The fries are double fried in beef tallow and were as delicious as that sounds. The burgers themselves were a great blend of meat and fat, staying juicy in the fire but not greasy on the bun. The choices of toppings run from everyday to unique and building your own burger can result in an amazing combination! Overall, the experience was well worth the 30 minute detour (we even enjoyed the scenery off the highway) and we're looking forward to our next trip north just so we can stop here.

Based on the hype and what I hear about this place, my expectations were high. However, they were not met. I also dislike counter service as a patron, and as a philosophy. Anyways- that aside the fries were inedible in salt. My medium rare order they took was a solid medium. The burger was dripping in the aioli. The tomato was huge and mealy. A solid 2 to 3 star meal. The Almanac and Mystic beer was awesome. As the rest of the beer list is amazing.

Quality ingredients, an amazing beer list, a nice outdoor sitting area, and friendly staff. I went here after spending a few days camping in the woods and the 8oz burger was EXACTLY what I needed to feel whole again. The burger was perfectly cooked, the toppings were really delicious (try the kimchi!) and my Parmesan truffle fries were divine. I highly recommend stopping by The Worthy Burger if you’re in the area!!

After hearing a substantial amount of hype from foodie friends, my expectations were high. Three stars for a beautiful way to cook a burger, decent beer list and neat setting. It did lack in table service (order/pick up at counter and a $15 burger?!?) and the burger was not out of this world, as I expected. As a Vermonter, I am a tad spoiled with our access to amazing farms, breweries and restaurants. I’ve definitely had a better burger and I’ve read a better beer list elsewhere. Glad I tried it but wouldn’t go out of my way to go back.

Good place but the kitchen is too small for the volume of customers. Thus they can't fit enough cooks in the space to cook the food consistently. Our medium burgers came out beyond well done and dry as a bone. The fries were also ridiculously overcooked. But the line was 40 people long... Unfortunate but understandable.

Literally on the other side of the tracks! Worth the trip off I-89. 9 or so miles off the interstate. Drive through South Royalton town center and passed Vermont School of Law. Scenic little NE town. Thankfully found this place on Yelp on the way from a ski trip further up north in VT. I always like to find places a little left-of-center and just a bit off the beaten path. Located in an old rail house alongside the tracks, this cool restaurant/pub is obviously a favorite with locals, as well as skiers & tourists passing through. Their tag line is "A craft beer & burger bar," and it does not disappoint. Rustic, diner-style feel in an old plank floored building. Order off the chalk board menu. Great burgers! Off the farm fresh! The grass fed Worthy Burger with blue cheese & caramelized onions was great. They serve a variety of local cheeses, local grass-fed beef & bacon, and a great selection of local Vermont beers, as well as other CA microbrews. Beer was cold and really smooth! I would have had another if we hadn't needed to get back on the road. Groovy feel with the locals. The poutine burger (you're still fairly close to Canada, eh?) with crispy potato nest and cheese curds sounded great, but I figured maybe not a great idea given I had a 3 hour drive south ahead of me. Though we didn't have dessert, a couple next to us said the deep fried bacon was amazing! Who wouldn't love bacon with more deep fried carbs added on, right?? Deep fried pistachio brownie sounded interesting too. House-made pickle plate and cut fries are great. We all enjoyed our lunch, and I'd recommend this place if you're looking for a fresh and local experience. Note: Listen up turtle-necked ski guy headed back to Boston. It's CASH ONLY, so don't be thinking about whipping out your AMEX, cowboy. Great burger place!!!!!!! For foodies & good beer folks alike.

Finally made it to this unique burger joint in the quaint little town. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the huge selection of craft beer available on draft. The food is exceptional...had the burger and lamb burger and the schzechuan fries! I would totally give it 5 stars except for the whole stand in line to order drinks and food and then get back in line to order more. Plus there was only ONE person taking orders.

Used to absolutely love Worthy Burger during the first couple of years after it opened. Unfortunately the tavern has gone downhill since those days. The burgers are still great, but prices have creeped up rather substantially (and much faster than inflation) and they've lost the local farm-themed vibe. Nowadays it's common for obnoxious out-of-state tourists to ask the staff a zillion questions about their beer last, demanding 4-5 samples before the choose a pint they want (its just a pint! Not a life threatening decision). Meanwhile a long line of agitated regulars develops behind them because the staff has trouble taking orders in a timely manner.

Checked Worthy Burger our for dinner at the suggestion of a local friend and we were satisfied with the atmosphere, friendliness of the staff, quality of the food, or good selection of beer. We both got the Freighthouse burger and Worthy fries with cheese sauce. The burgers were cooked perfectly to our requests, the fries were very good. The garlic aioli sauce was really tasty, though my fiancé thought the beef patty itself was somewhat bland. We enjoyed our beers as well. We ordered the Worthy Donuts for dessert and found them a bit flavorless and way overpriced for what they were. I would skip these if you’re craving a sweet finish to your meal. Other than that, I recommend this place and will be going back.

Incredible! I had a perfect burger and perfect fries. Best tasting combo I have ever had in my life! The beef was flavorful, fresh and cooked exactly to order. The greens they add was a wonderful compliment to the bacon and carmelized onions I added. A burger to nearly die for. The fries, cooked in beef tallow, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, were bursting with perfect potato goodness. The staff was extremely professional and friendly. Awesome dining experience.

The people with all these glowing reviews must not get far from Royalton. Two fairly good burgers, two small orders of fries, a beer (they don't serve larger than 12 ounces for $6 or $7), and a wine for $70! You order at a counter like at McDonald's and pick up your food at the counter. And then they want a tip! Once is enough for me.

Awesome! The beer list was impressive, and even for non-drinkers like my self, they had delicious root beer, ginger beer and more on draft with FREE refills! Everyone in my family enjoyed their meals. Even the chicken and turkey burgers were delicious. The best part was definitely the fries though! Opt to spend the extra money and get them coated in truffle oil and parmesan, you won't regret it. The only disappointment were the dessert "donuts." They were $7 and only came with 3 donuts, which weren't great. When we come again, and I know we will because this place rules, we will probably skip the donuts and get ice cream for dessert elsewhere.

The vegetarian burger was top notch! I never have high hopes for bean burgers patties. They come out dry, mushy, and bland at most places. Worthy Burger's patty was mean based, but it had artichoke (and maybe more things) in it, and the burger was dressed around the flavors. The result was delicious! It was still a bit mushy, but it didn't detract from my enjoyment at all. The burger comes with fries, but they are prepared in beef tallow. I subbed those out for a salad at no extra charge. I also ordered pickles for the table. The pickles of the day included grapes, carrots, and squash. The grapes were strange and delightful. The entire table had fun trying them. It's an experience upgrade that I would recommend for any group. Don't expect service to be fast. We waited in line for 30+ minutes just to order during busy hours on a Saturday night. But you can order drinks while waiting in line. Beer people loved the local beer selection, and soda people loved the Maine Root blueberry soda. Overall, it was a fantastic trip.

A little bit of a drive from exit 3 off 89 brings you to this glorious hidden gem. Grass fed beef, quality ingredients, and a top notch craft beer list has me and my stomach all smiles. This is a must try if you happen to be visiting or live in this area!

The staff are fantastic, the atmosphere is friendly and energetic, and the food was dynamite. Their goal of using only locally sourced ingredients ifs one that should be imitated by others, and their list of locally brewed beers is as extensive as it is delicious. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Amazing food and a fun atmosphere, this restaurant serves grass fed burgers any way you'd like them. Their aolis are incredible and the fries are just right-crispy on the outside and soft inside. If you prefer a side salad, you won't be disappointed!

Great burger joint. Fantastic quality beef, I love the fact that you can make your own burger. Goes to show that they know that their beef is too quality and that you can do whatever you want and it'll still taste great. Huge selection of craft beer that always helps a good burger go down. Would highly recommend!
