The fourth star is for location alone - its incredible and makes up for the odd sub-par meal I've had. Waitstaff are great, drinks are great, atmosphere is amazing, but I've had some crumby food - like fried chicken sandwich that wasn't crispy and tough to bite through... not what I expected. 9 times out of 10 your meal will be good.

I want to start by saying Waterworks holds a special place in my heart; it being where I went on my first date with my partner. However, upon returning 3 years later, we were unfortunately dissapointed with the food. We ordered some apps & drinks. The wings were bland & not super crispy and unfortunately the sauce comes on the side instead of slathered. I wish Waterworks would change up this recipe. I’ve paid way less for wings and gotten better quality wings elsewhere. We also ordered truffle fries which unfortunately tasted like they came out of a frozen bag and tossed with some truffle oil and parmasean. Drinks however, were delicious. Next time I guess we will skip the apps and get dinner.

We reserved a seat by the window overlooking the Winooski Falls, which were partially frozen. Beautiful view! The seafood mac & cheese was awesome! My wife & daughter had the filet & it was delicious! Wes, our waiter did a fantastic job as well. It was definitely a 5-star experience for us!

Absolutely beautiful location. The interior is very well decorated and has a warm atmosphere. The lighting was gorgeous with all of the Edison light bulbs. The food was some of the best I had in Vermont. The only thing that could have been a little bit better was the service, as our waitress was not attentive.

Always yummy. Sunday brunch was really good, I want to go back to try a few more items on the menu. The avocado toast was perfetto! Delicious garlicky tomatoes were served over the scrambled eggs atop the avocado toast. Fantastic. The fruit side was a variety of fresh fruit. My only complaint, too many cocktail straws! Ask! It's Vermont after all.

I used to go here years and years ago, under original ownership. My whole family was so excited when they finally reopened. It's definitely a different place, but the view of the river is still amazing and I enjoy the new menu. On my last trip to VT, I actually went three times in one week. Brunch, dinner and another brunch. I would definitely recommend it.

Very nice restaurant. Definitely going on my list of better places in Burlington. Service and food were exceptional and the atmosphere is perfect for conversation. The waterfront view is wonderful, especially around dusk. Pricing is reasonable to the expectation. Family of three had medium entrees, a shared appetizer, and iced tea for $50-60. Alcohol is a little steep but that seems to be the norm for boutique Burlington. Maybe a slight tweak of adult beverage pricing for social dining and the restaurant would be one of the more superior dining options. Highly recommend dining here.

This is all about the location. It is right on the river with beautiful views. We ordered and the service was great. My seafood dish was a bit over priced for what i got. The food was really nothing special. I dont think we will be back. The menu is also pretty limited.

This is our second time dining at Waterworks and once again we really enjoyed our meals. Wait staff was pleasant. My daughter had the hanger steak with truffle fries, my wife had a flat bread pizza with cheese and mushrooms and I had the roast pork tenderloin with jalapeño fritters. We started with an arugula salad with goat cheese. The only negatives are dirty plates are not picked up when staff walks by and a there was a lengthy delay between the salad and main courses bring served.

I won't be back. I made a reservation for my wife and I for our anniversary. We arrived 5 minutes prior to our 7pm reservation. We were told our table would be ready in a few minutes and to take a seat on the couch. While waiting, another couple walked in, asked for a table for two, and were immediately taken to a nice table by the windows. We waited another 5 minutes and were then taken to a table in the corner, without river views. We ordered entrees and a bottle of wine. I had the steak frites- medium rare and my wife has the scallops. The scallops we wonderful! My steak was well done. At $25 for the dish I decided I should send it back to have it re-done to my liking. My wife ate her meal, while I waited 20 minutes for the re-fire of my steak. The second time around it was cooked nicely. The reason for one star? No one apologized for the steak error. No offer to throw in a dessert or knock some off the bill. That issue, matched with being dissed for making a reservation earned someone else my business. Sorry....

Good food even though two people ordered medium steaks and one was medium and the other well done. The bill ended up being a little more than we expected. Also had to wait for 40 min for our table when we had made a reservation 2 months in advance. I understand that it was a busy weekend but the polite thing to do would be to offer your guests something to drink.

Easily one of the best places to eat in the area! The food and drinks are fantastic, the place itself is beautiful, and the service each time I've gone has been great. Do beware, it can get very busy so reservations are a good idea and tends to be on the pricier side. All in all, one of my favorite places to eat near Burlington.

My daughter recently bought a home in Winooski which brought us there, she said she had to take me. This place is incredible from scenery, to service, to food. We both had an unbelievable pork dinner. I told the waiter that on one hand I was happy and the other upset. Happy because of the entire experience but upset that I know I won't be able to duplicate again anywhere else. We also had a beef brochette for an appetizer that was so good we ordered another one. Jordan was our waiter and was so professional you would have thought he owned the place. We sat on the corner of the patio next to the river.

I’ve been to waterworks many times now. I have almost no complaints. The positives: the burger, the fried chicken sandwich, and the truffle fries. The burger is my favourite in all of the area, I think about it at night. The service is almost always fantastic, as well as the overall ambience and view can’t be beat. The negatives: where is the Upside Down? Al upset that I didn’t see it on the menu anymore... And half priced cocktail Monday’s have been reworked to only include a few cocktails, which is disappointing as that was the best part about Mondays was going to WW for a variety of cocktails and a great meal. The other negative is the food quality is not consistent every time. More times than not I’ve had amazing food, but sometimes it is below average and that’s always disappointing. Over all Waterworks is one of my favourite places in Vermont, just really missing that upside down...

Our group of 10 had a table out overlooking the water, must have reservations for that. After a collection of shared plates; tuna poke, fried green tomatoes and garlic hummus and a few cocktails we were ready for main courses. Several people ordered the Waterworks Steak Frites and I wished I did too but I ordered the short ribs. They were too bland and not enough flavor. Also ordered side of bacon roasted Brussels sprouts that were yummy.

Food was terrific and their location was perfect. Why this place is getting three stars is due to a couple reasons. I made reservations in early June for a July 20th table. I called a day prior to ask if outdoor seating was available. The woman on the line said she can write it in as a preference. My girlfriend and I get there and they said outdoor seating would be a 30 minute wait (there were 6 tables available). We then sat inside and I had asked to sit an open table (on the glass side of the building facing the waterfall). Our waitress said she would be using that 2 person table to round out a larger party but she would "see what she could do." 10 minutes later, a man and woman were seated there. The waitress said "she tried to get us that table." If you're expecting the same service of getting a view while you eat, good luck. If you don't care where you sit, you won't be disappointed. To top it off, we were sat under an ice-cold air conditioning vent that was blowing on our table the entire meal.

Great service from the waitress! However, 45 min ticket time for my meal & it was cold to boot. I gave them 2 stars because they gave me a substitute meal, which did come quickly & free desert as compensation. Watch out for the extra kitchen tip added into the bill whether food was good or not.

The environment, on a Friday night, was too loud have polite conversation. Some people might enjoy that, I personally, did not. I might come back again and get a table outside to see if there is a difference in noise. Also to try more flat bread.

The appetizers are DELICIOUS! We ordered the corn, the nachos (excellent!), Fried green tomatoes & a coffee martini. For dinner, I had the vegan zucchini pomodero eggplant dish which I thoroughly enjoyed. Would recommend this restaurant. Apparently, this restaurant has been around for years. At one point they shut it down only to have a start up re-open it. Great choice!

I love the setting of this restaurant. It's right on the river and the decor is industrial/up cycled. Lots of wood and wrought iron. There's a large bar and couches and chairs arranged for getting drinks with friends. It's quite family friendly too with lots of seating options. One room is glass walls on 3 sides overlooking the river - great entertainment for kids. The drinks are usually tasty with a good selection. The food is where I struggle. I like the menu options and it does change seasonally. It just varies in quality. Sometimes the food is inventive and delicious. Other times it's just off - as if they had the B team in the kitchen. So I definitely recommend it for meeting friends for drinks, and a good place to take kids. I would just go in with somewhat low expectations about the food and you may be pleasantly surprised.

Beautiful setting on the river, with a spacious and rustic interior. Prices lean toward the upscale side, but are on par with the value. Leave extra time to find parking because it's a challenge to navigate the mess that is downtown Winooski.

The location is stunning overlooking the falls. We were there at night so we couldn't see too much, but it's clearly a nice location. The restaurant has a great ambiance with a lot of exposed brick. However, the food is boring and mediocre. Waterworks is the Applebees of Winooski, although the prices are much higher than Applebees. A roasted half chicken is $24. Also, the restaurant charges mandatory service fees so check you bill closely. If you're the kind of person who likes the classics (like roasted chicken) and hates change/unfamiliar dishes, you will like it here. Winooski has a lot of great restaurants with affordable prices and imaginative cuisine, but don't expect either at Waterworks.

Extremely disappointing. We went here for lunch with a few members of our extended family. I ordered a hamburger. I realized after the server left the table that it was odd she hadn't asked me how I wanted it cooked. When it arrived I realized why. It was a lovely brioche bun however the actual hamburger was a patty akin to a McDonald's burger. The bun was so big and the "burger" so small that you couldn't even taste the meat. My cousin ordered the pulled pork sandwich and noted that most of her sandwich was coleslaw rather than pork. My mom enjoyed her salmon burger with a side salad. Of note sandwiches are served with Deep River potato chips, $2 extra for fries or potato chips.

Nothing spectacular food wise. Burger way over priced for what it is. I thought of Al's when I looked at my double Patty for 16 bucks. Guess who has the better fries. Give it 4 stars but gets 3 because of sound/ambience. Play the music louder float some banners or something. It's just a background noise of jumbled conversation. OG was way better.

Chicken Wings appetizer was awesome! The filet was over cooked and way too thick, Medium Rare should be grayish brown on the outside and pinkish red in the middle and juicy and hot not dry and medium well to well done. The blue cheese sauce was over powering the mashed potatoes were dry and way over portioned. From an appearance stand point it looked good but that's as far as it goes. Will I go back yes I want to give them another chance I believe the kitchen staff can do a better job.

This is one of Winooski's gems. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great. There are beautiful views of the Winooski river from the restaurant.

Starts with a great view, cocktails, beer and food, but the Truffle cheese and mushroom pizza is the standout. Seriously, if everything else they served was raw, rancid roadkill, that pizza would still earn Waterworks 5 Stars. It’s just a bonus that everything else is good.

The ambiance of this place is worth it alone. But the food and cocktails are tremendous as well. I've had two amazing meal experiences here. The service is also great and the bartenders are knowledgeable and it's a real treat to watch them make your drink. Perfect date night place, but you can also bring the kids (as long as they enjoy real food).

Waterworks is a great place to bring a co-worker for drinks after work, or a date for dinner. During the summer they have outdoor seating with great views of the Winooski river. The parking garage is within a block, along with lots of street parking.
