This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Mexican restaurant.
Was not what we we're expecting at first but turned out to be a great place. Very kid friendly and runs a kids eat free with adult meal on Wednesdays. Place was filled with families and everyone seemed to know everyone.
Bed service, waited around 40 min for the food
Good food. Enchiladas were on point. Nice atmosphere
Solid place. Above average for kids because of the game room. Good Mexican beer specials and good nachos. Stuck to the straight forward stuff and you'll eat good food... Soon as you get into sprouts in a taco and such, you tread in territory that really doesn't work. The staff has always been friendly and engaged. And if you're interested in live music, this is the biggest venue on the mountain road.
Very friendly staff, with great food and atmosphere.
Really good , authentic style , Mexican food. Not the best service, but the food made it worthwhile. Traditional "wet" burritos were excellent.
Really cool place! Love the vibe and the food is awesome! Will definitely go back when I visit again
deserves ZERO stars 1) walked into a nearly empty restaurant at dinnertime 2) was told a 20 min. wait for a table 3) watched the bartender ignore us for 5 min. and try and look busy 4) watched another couple walk in and get seated right away by the same hostess 5) paid for and left our full drinks on the bar and left. HAVE BEEN SHARING THIS STORY WITH ALL OUR TRAVELING GROUP MEMBERS
This was a disappointing restaurant. It is a pretty environment but the food is not good. The wait is very long and they do not take reservations. The hosts were average, they seemed impatient and kept swearing in front of children. The waiter was kind and funny which made the experience better. However the food took over an hour and was not filling. The burrito was to small, they said it was huge so it was expected to be worth the expensiveness. The burritos were to small and tasted bland. Would not recomend, especially if you want authentic Mexican.
Cool dining room. The art was great. The service was unorganized though. Took longer than I expected to get drinks and appetizer. By the time the main coars came and was half gone I had forgotten that. Food was awesome, music was great and the servers where very attendant. Would go there again.
The food is genuine and delicious!!! They are always busy so it's good to go online and get in the virtual line ahead of time
Delicious food and good service
Always enjoy going to Tres for margaritas and some tacos. Friendly staff and good service.
Super friendly and efficient staff. Pork enchilada was fantastic.
The food was gross and the meat tasted sweet and soapy. I ordered a drink and it didn’t come so we just forgot about it. In my quesadilla there was almost no cheese! The chips quac and caso were ok. One of the drinks that one of the people at our table got said that it was disgusting and smelled weird. The table next to us got there drinks before we did and we had already been there for about a half an hour. They also got there food a few minutes after us. The four of that went there none of us were happy with our food. We were excited to go there for the first time but we regret it. And we will never end up going there ever again. We would give this place zero stars.
First time that I didn't get free chips and salsa in a "Mexican" restaurant. Here you get Mexican food which does not taste authentic. I bet no Mexican is involved here. The food was ok. But it won't be a second visit.
Good is a hit or miss. It's was quite tasty tonight.
I was overall really disappointed. I was excited for some good Mexican and this place was not that. All the meals we have had in Stowe were really good but this place is just bad. The food was nothing special and it took an hour to get (it was new years Eve but no one was getting their food in a timely manner). If you are from anywhere else where there is good Mexican food, then this place would seem like it is from the freezer section. Not to mention it is expensive, and most meals come alone without rice and beans. The atmosphere is nice though.
Excellent food, great wait staff
Good food, great service!
It was just okay. The hostess glared at us when we came in - I don't think it was specific to us, she was kind of hostile to everyone we saw. Our server was pleasant. The food was a mixed bag. I initially order Chicken Enchiladas Mole, but it was inedible. The food was cold in the middle, and the mole sauce was terrible. Some mole sauces have a touch of chocolate, but a good chef knows that the flavor is supposed to be subtle. This tasted like pure sugar, and the texture was gritty, like beach sand. A good mole sauce should have a nice heat to it, and have a smooth consistency. They served me a burrito instead, which was definitely an improvement, but you could tell that some of the stuff had been canned/frozen. I think between the rude hostess and the subpar initial dish, I probably won't rush back.
Great food , great people and the prices are great. I went back two days after first time going , the food was so good. You also have the Rusty Nail stage for concerts. Looking to go to a concert soon , check dates
No a/c kinda hot
Great food and service!
Really enjoyed this place! A pricey cocktail hit the spot, and great fresh food delivered. Very good Mexican, and lots of friendly people at the bar. Last visit was with a larger group, and the waiter was a bit snarky. Never had that happen before!
The food was good, but the service was aweful. We waited almost a half hour to get our check. The wait staff kept ignoring us throughout our meal.
Wonderful bar. Great vibe in the restaurant. Good drink menu. Always nice to find Mexican food among all the burger joints that dot this road. Wait staff was friendly, informative, and attentive. So, why three stars? We ate there with six guys, and only two really dug their meals. But definitely stop in for a drink, or better yet, a show. The Rusty Nail looks like a great place to catch your favorite band. Just maybe grab one of those nearby burgers on your way over.
This was the first time. Margueritas loaded with ice less drink. Then no complimentary salsa. Food was good. Come from Williston thinking we were going to upgrade our choice for mexican food. Think we will stay in Burlington area.
Just had dinner at Trees Amigos, again, and it was fantastic, again! They were busy, but not packed. We sat right away, the service was great, and the food was awesome.
Great Mexican .. rustic food layered with beautiful flavors. Great service and drinks ...I would JUMP to go back.
After much deliberation we decided to go here. The food was good and the service was pretty great. The bar is nice as well and the whole place has a relaxed and enjoyable feeling to it. Great restaurant.
Not an authentic Mexican cuisine in my opinion. On top of that, the experience was sub par and it seemed they were on a mission to squeeze out every penny. The hostesses were marginal; not bad, but not super accommodating. The food was very Americanized, and this is the first sit down Mexican restaurant where we weren’t greeted by chips and salsa on the table, instead it cost a substantial amount extra. Our friendly waiter and the pleasant environment were the only factors preventing a completely miserable experience.
So this was a first for us in Stowe. Only one employee in the whole place was good enough to acknowledge that we were there. All of the servers stood at the end of the bar chatting with each other and taking turns staring at us but no one would come over and say hello or welcome or someone will be with you soon. When the male bartender finally came from the back, he was very pleasant and was surprised no one had given us menus. We did get something to eat and saying it was edible is being kind. The rice wasn't cooked, for either of us. The beans had zero flavor, black or refried and the entres were just so so. Then before we left we find out that the young woman that was behind the bar since before we sat down is also a bartender. And she never said so much as boo to us the entire time we were there. Very strange and not at all what we've come to expect from the restaurants in this area. No chance at all that we will return.
Best food in town
Got there just before closing for a late night meal. Excellent service.
Tasty food, quick service, cheerful ambiance!
Very mediocre place. They have a lot of parking and I am sure in the summer its a great spot. They have outdoor seating and an outdoor bar. As far as the food the portions were small and pretty bland taste. The menu looked promising so maybe it was just what we ordered but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back.
The food wasn't great. Our nachos were horrible but at least they took them off our bill. Who puts radishes on Nachos?
Meeh, not impressed at all. Our waitress didn't give us the time of day. We had to stop her from walking away a few different times: to order, from taking our appetizer away before we were done, to get our check - it was ridiculous. I was a waitress, and when you only have ONE table...there is no excuse. The food was okay but over-priced. We won't be returning.
I love Mexican food, but this place was disappointing. I had shrimp tacos & shrimp were small and dry. The whole taco was dry and tasteless. Shredded purple cabbage is not a spice folks! Wife had chicken fajitas which weren't too good either. The portions are very small, which is bad considering the high prices. I joke not, but we drove to McDonald's straight after cause I was still hungry and I'm a small guy and light eater. Avoid if you can.
the food was delicious. The servers were very warm and welcoming. Only complaint is it was super noisy so if you want to have a conversation when you eat i don't recommend trying to do it here.
Friendly staff, great food
Expensive but really good food
Very delicious food! Friendly service! Nice interior!
Fantastic food reasonably priced. Great service.
When this place 1st opened it was like a breath of fresh Mexican air. Now, as TA is trying to rework itself under a new chef, the smog of laziness and inattention to detail hovered over our party throughout our luncheon. 1) waitress brought us mushrooms in our cheese dip for which there was an up-charge. 2) the menu had changed but not brought to our attention. 3) it took 40+ minutes for our food to arrive despite a light Sunday early afternoon. 4) Fried c'changas were cold on the inside. 5) They auto-charged us 20% gratuity due to our party size. The molé is too good to give up this place completely ... update May'19: word is mole is off the menu ...
Small portions! Terrible service!!
We visited during restaurant week. Service was prompt, food was well prepared and spicy enough for us (former residents of New Mexico). Best huevos rancheros we've had in years. We'll be back.
Been here a few times and really enjoyed the food and bar atmosphere. Great chips and guac and loved the brisket tacos
Excellent fish tacos great place for kids
The place was so cool inside. Service was fast and food was very authentic.
I love this place. Everything was so tasty. The guacamole. The tacos. The nachos. The rice. Cool atmosphere.
Great service and good food.
Great place to go with or without kids. Margaritas are delicious!
Great burritos, but they sure are filling.
Decent place to enjoy Mexican food at a place like Stowe. Reserve tables in advance on weekends or expect longer wait time.
Food and service was amazing
One of three restaurants in the Stowe/Waterbury area run by the same owners, Tres over delivers on quality, quantity and great value on the Mountain Road. Best tequila and mescal selections in the area as well.
Was not what we we're expecting at first but turned out to be a great place. good is Great!!! And also Great service!!!!
Great margaritas. Great food. Our kids liked it as well.
Fantastic dinner tonight. Started with queso dip. Homemade chips, heavily salted, and a sweet creamy cheese dip. Chimichangas were perfectly fried with a crispy shell and lots of flavor within. Topped by lettuce and pico. Honestly could do with less lettuce, but the pico was fresh, light and flavorful. We had the blue corn bread which was also light and sweet, almost cake-like. The highlight for me was dessert. I love me a churro and these were fantastic! Served covered in granulated sugar and piping hot, these babies melted in my mouth! One order had three churros, but I could definitely eat 5 or more.
Wanted tacos for dinner and this place was nearby. We ordered guacamole, empanadas and carnitas tacos. My husband had a beer and I had the strawberry mango agua fresca. The food was good and our son enjoyed the tortilla chips. I would have got some dessert but I was a bit too full. They have an ice cream window around the corner on the side of the restaurant. I think I'll try the ice cream next time. Also, this place seems to be kid friendly since we weren't the only ones with little ones at the table.
We ordered the carne ansda the steak was 25 percent fat pork burrito that was just ok. It had no fresh ingredients it all came from a can. The waitress did go out of her way to take the steak off the bill. We would not go back.
The drinks were delicious and the tacos were tasty! I had the "South of the border sour", would recommend to both whiskey and non whiskey drinks.
Cool ambiance, but the food was nothing special, average at best. It always cracks me up when a Mexican restaurant serves cold chips with chips and salsa. Buy a chip warmer? Go somewhere else, there are much better options in Stowe...
Great salsa, fun cocktails.
Good food, terrible service. Not that busy, waited over 30 minutes to be seated although larger groups were given a table before us. 2 people. Our waitress was horrible, not helpful, after watching several tables receive their dinner, we had to flag our waitress down. Seemed not bothered by us still sitting there. After another 10 minutes it came I asked for salsa for my taco, Steve finished his whole dinner before I could get her attention to ask for it again. Then we asked for the bill... another long wait, then didn't come back to cash it out. Unbelievable!!! Never had service so poor.
Met up with friends for dinner. Waitress was very nice. Wide selection of food, meeting the needs of vegetarians and carnivores alike. Huge tap beer menu. Mixed drinks were flavorful. Good time.
Food is not authentic. Chicken Tinga Enchiladas was terrible. The chicken was mushy, rice was dry and hard, black beans were ok. This is a tourist trap that cost way too much money.
Prepare to be nickel and dimed for absolutely everything. Chips and salsa are extra. Meat in any dish is extra. Prepare to be disappointed as soon as you lay eyes on the menu.
Service was good but the food was terrible.
Sat outside to eat very nice
Pretty good food for a smaller town. Not epic. But was relatively tasty! The green salsa was really delicious! We had nachos and chimichungas. Everything was ok. The Margarettas were fantastic though, and atmosphere was fun.
Good beer selection and ambiance but elote was disappointing
